“Is there something I can do for you?” Caelus continues to stare at him. Eyes glittering with the same diamond dust of the void seen through the express’s windows.

The young man’s silence wasn’t new. He barely spoke the first time he joined their little crew. Not for lack of trying, but more due to a loss of words. There were just moments that Caelus would forget to use them. Like water slipping through his fingers. You could tell based on the slightly burnt touch to his caramel scent.

Welt usually just lets him work through it. Caelus was incredibly independent, despite his lack of knowledge on things people usually took for granted. Questionable habits aside. When needed, a pat on his head, a smile or a simple “Good work” from the older man could easily dispel his frustrated scent.

Right now, Welt can’t sense any of that frustration. There was an eagerness to him though, a hint of curiosity—a tinge to his usually sweet scent that’s faint enough to know it’s there but not know what exactly it is.

A minute of this passes. Welt allows himself to feel the concern that’s been growing from Caelus’ continued silent staring. “Caelus?”

His brows furrow, lips pressed into a determined line. “Your scarf,” the young Trailblazer starts. He chews his bottom lip and Welt tries not to press his thumb on the younger’s chin to halt the abuse. A flush grows on Caelus ears, creeping to his cheeks, before he meets Welt’s gaze. (And how has he not noticed it before? That Caelus hasn’t been meeting his eyes since he sat down next to him?)

“Can I have your scarf Mr. Yang?”

“I—” Welt closes his mouth, brows rising at the request. There was no reason to refuse him. He was taken aback by the suddenness of it, but Welt can’t think of why he shouldn’t grant it. “Whatever for?” he asks, already removing it from his person.

Caelus doesn’t answer, but Welt can tell the other doesn’t know why either.

When Welt hands over his scarf, he carefully wraps it around Caelus’ neck. The teen holds still, his fingers fidgeting on his lap. Like he can’t wait to bury his fingers on the material. Welt smiles at that.

He draws back and watches Caelus do so. And when the teen presses the scarf to his face and breathes it in, the “why” dawns on Welt. Caelus scent shifts into warm content, and he hears his sigh taper off into a purr.

“Thanks Mr. Yang, you’re the best,” his eyes crinkle as he smiles. His golden eyes sparkling even brighter. Caelus doesn’t wait for his reply. He climbs to his feet and runs out of the main car. Most probably to his room where his nest lies.

“Adorable, isn’t he?” Himeko comments. “We should probably get him checked at Herta Space Station just in case.”

“Yes,” Welt coughs. He’s sure there’s some data about the effects of housing a stellaron for an omega. He wouldn’t put it past Dan Heng to have already started looking into it.

He draws his gaze away from the door Caelus exited. His scent lingers in the main car and Welt knows all of them are basking in it. There was nothing like the scent of a happy, content Omega. And he knows their crew enough to know they’d give their all to keep it that way.

In the world where alpha scent was often sharp and overpowering while omega scent was saccharine sweet, Caelus' scent was muted—faint fragrance of tangerines and something crisp. Not unlike common beta scent. Thus, the express crew thought he was one as well.

Yet, their assumption was unknowingly shattered when Welt woke up in the morning with the youth snuggling up to him, on his bed, in his own room in the express.

He froze.

Engulfing him was thick scent of sweet tangerines, filling his nose and snapped himself out of sleepiness.

"... Caelus?" he called the younger man tentatively, and here he realised his own traitorous hands were already curled around that narrow waist. He wanted to pull away, but then tiny noise of discomfort slipped past Caelus' lips when he tried to.

So he left his hands at where it be.

"Mr. Yang..." Caelus' eyelids fluttered open, and Welt saw misty topaz staring back at him.

"—Mr. Yang, you smell so nice," he murmured, pressing himself impossibly closer toward Welt's larger frame. "Mm, feels good... but, Mr. Yang... I feel so uncomfortable here."

The youth seek Welt's hand, then brought it past his loose shorts, settling in between his legs. And Welt's palm caught something plump and wet on his fingers.

Pupils blown wide, a growl escaped from his throat. His alpha side recognised an omega in heat, ready to be taken.

HSR Men Omegaverse (A/B/O) Scents

To pair with the dynamics headcanons list, I'm going to do a short and sweet one about their scents! Also, this headcanon will be taking some inspiration from @daylightdabbles's Teyvat Omegaverse AU, but is not required to read beforehand!

Rating: SFW Warnings: None Characters: Caelus, Dan Heng, Welt, Gepard, Sampo, Luka, Jing Yuan, Luocha, Blade, Argenti, Dr Ratio, Aventurine + Gallagher Summary: What scents help to identify each of the HSR men?

Scent has always been a bit of an odd topic for CAELUS, considering the stellaron pulsing in his chest. While it doesn't seem to be hurting him, it does affect his scent, though fortunately to not such a degree that it's concerning. All it does, fortunately, is add a burnt note to it, making Caelus smell distinctly of a smore that had been left over the fire a bit too long. His scent isn't really sweet nor earthy, but a compromise between the two, with hints of metal heated by licking flames.

As opposed to being just odd, DAN HENG's relationship with his scent is a bit of a sore subject. Even though the scent is entirely his and not swayed by his environment, there's still notes to it that are reminiscent of the Xianzhou by association. Because of this, he tries to nullify it as much as possible, without completely canceling it out. His scent consists of weathered paper, sea spray, and peach trees.

One of the most comforting scents you can come across belongs to Joachim Nokianvirtanen, also known as WELT. By now, it's a staple of the Astral Express, soothing those that board the express and allowing them a comfortable passage. He smells of sandalwood, warm bread, and hot cocoa. It's not overpowering, but it lingers longer than most.

As a beta, GEPARD's scent carries traces of his beloved home, Belebog, as well as his own identifying scent. The cold sting of wintery air and the lingering of rusted metal is paired with rosemary and chamomile tea. Contrasting Welt, Gepard's scent is very strong, filling one's entire chest, but the bitter cold and winds tend to sweep it away almost the moment he leaves a room.

It's hard to say that SAMPO even has a real scent anymore. He has caked on so many perfumes, colognes, and even scent blockers that it's a weird hodgepodge of different scents, just as chaotic as the Aeon he follows. Depending on the day or placement, you can smell an assortment of spiced and floral scents, with the only constant being the lingering of raspberries and blackberries.

Everyone in The Moles knows that if you're in danger, to follow the scent of grilled steak, as it will inevitably lead to LUKA. Though, grilled steak isn't the only thing he smells like, with it being accompanied by the scents of black pepper and citrus. It's a thick, comforting scent, but has the tendency to make others hungry if they spend too much time around him.

It's fortunate for those working under JING YUAN that he smells not only remarkably pleasant, but that the scent itself isn't overbearing. One can only truly describe his scent as 'clean', often being likened to a windy meadow. Jing Yuan usually smells of a mild breeze, wildflowers, and oranges. Though, whenever he's angry or in the heat of battle, it tends to be darkened by the scent of oncoming rain and storm clouds, as if disturbing the previously still meadow.

Traveling place to place as an omega has meant that LUOCHA's scent has.. wavered, for lack of a better term. Omegas typically smell like home, the things they surround themselves with. That's hard to do when your surroundings change daily. It's caused plenty of alphas and betas alike to be confused and unnerved by him, but other omegas find him quite charming. If you take a deep breath, however, you can make out the airy scent of lilies, polish for his rapier, and the fruity scent of his shampoo.

A long, long time ago, there was a craftsman who was said to have smelled of passion and the forge itself. But that man is long gone, leaving BLADE behind in his wake. While Yingxing's original scent disappeared along with him, Blade finds that he is now identified by the scents of smoldering embers, dew-laden spider lilies, and cinnamon. Whenever he finds himself mara stricken or enraged, the embers flare up, leaving the distinct smell of smoke and hot metal. Though, when he's content, it's said to be a comforting scent.

One of the things ARGENTI prides himself on as a Knight of Beauty is his scent. It stood out from the scents of smoldering rubble and fear that clung to his hometown, but has since been embraced as proof he was meant to follow the Beauty. Not very many alphas have such tender, floral scents as him. He smells of freshly cut roses, an early morning fog, and the heart of a lush forest.

Frankly, DR RATIO doesn't concern himself much with his own scent. It's simply a biological fact to him, it doesn't need any further attention nor dressing up. Though he can't help the flattered feeling that swells in his chest whenever he catches someone swooning over his scent, which tends to linger heavily wherever he goes. Dr Veritas Ratio smells of pomegranate, sandalwood, and buttered toast.

Another person that hides their scent often is AVENTURINE, who never allows his true scent to show. Scents are like facial expressions, they can betray your true intentions, and Aventurine refuses to have anything but a perfect poker face. Hidden under layers of strong colognes and scent blockers, locked away from the public eye and only kept the secrecy of Aventurine's own room, is the scent of vanilla, shea butter, and blueberries.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, GALLAGHER is constantly surrounded by scents, and finds a sense of comfort in their expression. It's said that he even smells like a perfectly blended drink himself, with a sweet but savory blend that seems to take the edge off of most he comes into contact with. Gallagher smells of fresh grapes, strawberry schnapps, and rose.

Omega Caelus dealing with morning sickness and throwing up when he heavily pregnant with borisin pups and he just hates the feeling of it which makes the Borisin feel bad for him.

As if being confined to a dingy cell wasn't bad enough, the bucket Caelus had been given wasn't replaced nearly as much as it should be. His body shivers, cold sweat running down his back. Nausea bubbles back up in his belly, and the squirming borisin pups resting in his womb certainly wasn't helping.

Hiccuping, he rests his head against his arm, trying to will the bile rising in the back of his neck back down. One hand works circles over his heavy stomach, gently massaging the sides, trying bring some relief.

"F-u-ckk..." groaning, Caelus lurches forward. He's barely able to get his face into the bucket before another stream of watery bile splatters from his burning throat.

"Again?" the voice above him sounds irritated, but the Omega can't bring himself to care. A burp followed by another retch causes Mok Tok to step back, nose crinkled in disgust.

"You have to eat." setting the tray aside, he kneels down, grasping Caelus by the back of his hair and forcing his head back. The Omega chokes, bile and spit running down his chin, eyes burning.

"C-ca-ca-can't...too sick.." Mok Tok releases his hold, but not fast enough, Caelus retches again, chunky bile splattering less than an inch from Mok Tok's shoes.

"Fuck!" the Alpha stumbles backward, snarling.

"S-sss-sorry-" the Omega slurs, wiping his lips with the back of his soiled sleeve, "Can't...kee-keep it down..." hiccuping, Caelus sobs, "Feel sick...so sick-"

Looking around, Mok Tok spies a few fellow Borisin peaking into the cell. Concern and sympathy written on their faces, Mok Tok growls at them, low and deep. They scatter right away, leaving the Alpha alone with the sobbing Omega once again.

"What...can I do to make you stop."

Sobbing harder, Caelus gags, vomit spilling from his bruised lips.

"D-d-don't know...they...they won't stop...moving," he sobs harder, barely able to take a breath in, "Feels so...so...so bad...they just won't stop!"

Muttering a string of curses under his breath, Mok Tok pinches the bridge of his nose in frustration.

"Lay down."

"C-ca-can't...might...might get sick-"

"Try, damnit." roughly, the Alpha shoves the Omega to the floor. Caelus whimpers, but doesn't make any movement to protest, far too weak. Sprawled out on his back, Mok Tok raises the Omega's shirt.

The sight of the Omega's belly causes him to flinch.

The skin was stretched too tight too quickly, bright red and hot to the touch, long angry stretch marks littering the swell. He can see the pups moving, shifting about, and causing Caelus's tummy to quiver and jump with movement.

Swallowing back his hesitation, Mok Tok cautiously puts his hands to Caelus's belly. The Omega whimpers, tummy flinching as the Alpha's cold hands make contact with the hot skin.

"Aeons- fuck-" Mok Tok can't tell which side of his brain is winning, the rational side that finds the whole situation horrific, or the Alpha side that was howling in arousal at the sight of such a fertile, swollen Omega.

Calloused hands work circles over the taunt skin, and slowly, the pups inside seem to calm.

Satisfied that the worst was over, Mok Tok moves to take his hands away, only for the Omega to grab his wrist.

"Don't! Don't stop...please...don't stop." tears dripped down the sides of the Omega's face, lips parted as he panted softly in relief.

Softly, Mok Tok puts his hand's back to his belly, fingers tracing the angry red stretch marks, and running over his pronounced navel. Caelus moans, head lolling back, body finally relaxing.

Jing Yuan

Was initially prepared for sexy times with his mate but he doesn't mind not having some fun if he gets to witness his mate care for Yanqing like their own pup. Luckily they already build rather large nests so it's not hard for him to join them without disrupting the nest and the duo.

Yanqing is half asleep due to the grooming but tries his best to stay awake as Jing Yuan passes him something to snack on since he likely won't leave anytime soon. Jing Yuan sits there talking with Yanqing as he watches his mate groom him. It's a scene that brings warmth to his heart and almost makes him fall asleep from how peaceful it is until they snap him to focus.

If the nest starts to break due to how many people there are inside he simply does the repairs himself, stacking pillows and blankets and making the nest a bit bigger subtly without earning his omega's wrath for altering their nest.

Will help groom their pups if they ask but mostly leaves it up to them to brush the tangles out of their hair. March is the first to be groomed with Caelus being second, and Dan Heng being last at least to him. It isn't until they motion him to take Dan Heng's place does he realize they aren't finished grooming everyone.
