Here's a little something from my current Stranger Things fic.

But now his chance was gone, for this dance for sure. The next days he watched them planning their outfits.

“Hey, y/n, is green ok?” Gareth whispered to his seat neighbor while they were in the library. As always they accompanied her after school, this time to the library where she had to do some research.

“What kind of green?”, she asked, leaving the boy with a puzzled look.

“I don’t know. Green, like … green?” He shrugged, not knowing what to say. Y/n covered her face with her hands in annoyance, letting out a slightly frustrated groan before turning back to him.

“A light green, a dark green, mintgreen, pastelgreen, leafgreen, limegreen, mossgreen, emerald, olivegreen?” The more greentones she listed, counting down on her fingers, the wider his eyes grew. He then turned to Eddie. “Damn, I never knew there were so many greens! I thought green is just … you know? Green!”

Eddie rolled his eyes, not because of his friend's illiteracy, but because he was getting on his nerves. It was enough for him to know he would take her out, there’s no need for him to brag about it and to bother him with that, even if Gareth didn’t mean to brag.
