Need to draw Mandrake more. As well as Olive.
Also, damn you show, you could've made Mandrake do so many cooler things with his shape-shifting. Like traumatizing Olive!

Dunno how to title this (T_T) BUT I decided to redesign my old redesigns of olive and kinu but with a plot now and then I remembered mandrake and man he does not get a lot of love does he?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So in this new version olive is tasked with infiltrating the school and keeping an eye on specific students who seem to be catching on to their plans even if by a little and they need to make sure they don’t find out any more.
Kinu, her cat, is also here.
After olive failed to stop the girls from finding out more about their plans mandrake ends up transferring in to supervise her and also stop the girls from advancing further no matter how trivial.
Transfer students are common in high guardian academy as they either come from other schools or transfer out to other schools, in order to differentiate students properly the transfer students have to wear a sash with their school color on it and their year character!
And um I think that’s it. OH besides form the fact that they have their secret little meetings with Astor and slime boy in one of their dorm rooms because ooo yes very evil let’s go give everyone food poisoning

decided to draw these two pieces of shit because olive's design is just a recolor of mew ichigo (idk if the design I came up with looks like some other stablished character tho) and mandrake looks like those western cartoon villains made by people that watched sailor moon and got nothing away from the bad guys other than "oh he's evil and gay"
Tumblr media
Olive was stablished in episode 7 (it took over half the episodes!) and her face turn was soo obvious. like let her be a little evil first yanno, and stablish her presence earlier in the series (no the tepid "foreshadowing" doesn't count) and let her be a mischeavous little gossip that doesn't like to get her own hands dirty, but doesn't really mind letting others do the dirty deeds. Her facing the reality of what the triumvirate is willing to do for their own gains during the fall festival where everyone turns to stone is a great kickstart for her little redemption. Also her collar is given by the triumvirate as a way for her to be monitored, and in case she fails, the collar cuts off her head. (Same goes to madrake's btw) (Mini arc of her getting all anxious because she doesn't get executed when she becomes allies with the girls, little does she know the triumvirate saw it as an opportunity to use her as a way to get close to the girls, who know about the extent of the rot teehee)
Mandrake was introduced in episode 12 (the LAST episode!!) and he's a literally nothing character. The fact that he's just added last minute so the girls have someone to beat up pisses me off, and as a result, since he had zero time to be stablished every minute on screen is like he's trying wayy too fucking hard. His character is literally just "tee hee murder kill murder" so lets give him a bit of a personality. Like Olive, he also doesn't like killing. Not because he isn't okay with it, but because he prefers to fuck with people instead of getting rid of them outright. He has this cool, cocky, showsmanship attitude, but don't get him wrong, he does lose his temper when his situation gets dire. He probably threatens to murder more to fuck with people than to actually do it. Also his shapeshifting powers work like this: His terrasphere is used to produce cards, (52, max) that are kept in a small purse on his belt, and he uses his dagger to collect blood from people he wants to disguise at, and drips the blood on one of the cards, which registers that person as a transformation he can do. (52 different shapes max) (also the card gets a little sillouete of the shape he registered) and to transform, he gets the card absorbed by his terrasphere, that transforms him thru New Magic. His clothes don't get transformed though. He can also use the cards as weapons ofc. Can't rely only on his shapeshifting. Olive's shapeshifting is something normal for her species btw maybe they could show some other "animal" people to show that
So I like thinking about franchises that disappointed me in some way
and after watching too many reviews I redesigned the High guardian spice characters (and thought of how the plot could work way too much)
Tumblr media
Rose in this version isn't a complete idiot, and may not be so book smart, but she is very good in combat because she's kind of a fangirl. Like, "she studies attacks and can probably name pretty much every guardian" fangirling. While she is still kind of a dumbass, she's the one that always brings Sage down to earth whenever she gets too stressed. Although she is mostly the source of that stress. Her mom was taken by the rot, but she isn't really sure what it is, so when Thyme mentions it devastating her home she's like "!" so they can actually have something that might bring them together. She decides to take on forging and weapon enchantments so she can have a moment where she steps out of her mom's shadow to do her own thing teehee Sage here is still kind of an ass (her sexist discourse to snap was NOT a Girlboss Moment) but here I think it would be interesting if it was something that other characters think its weird too. Like its a belief ingrained into her together with the more traditional upbringing by her family (thus her only knowing old magic) so it can be part of her character development learning how those thoughts should be changed and that not everyone thinks like that, But she still tries her best to be respectful and kind. (also, her parents sent her to the academy because new magic is VERY new, so the fact that it was being implemented in the curriculum was not widespread, specially in a small town like where she was raised in.) she's an overthinker to the core, so sometimes she needs her friends to calm her down, although sometimes that anxiety is what prepares them for something they weren't even expecting.
Parsley is honestly well written enough in the original show, so the only things I would change is that the progress with the conflict with her parents is stretched a little through episodes, and the conflict is that while her parents want her to be a blacksmith and take on the family business (and help take care of her three thousand simblings) she wishes to go out and do something for herself as a warrior, because she wanting to go to school to become a blacksmith and her parents fighting her on it because they want her to become a blacksmith is kinda dumb. also her short ass hammer feels so weird to watch in the series, so I think that a longer handle would make it a little better. also tiny irony of her weapon being taller than her. Thyme feels like she should be written better because shes the only one that actually has any correlation to the plot, but she kind of... isn't?? I like her backstory of being ran out of the woods she lived in because the rot was devastating it and her dad staying behind to try to solve it, but I think it would be more dramatic if her dad was killed in the conflict but she doesn't know so dramatic moment when she finds something that belonged to him (maybe a little charm she made? for protection? in the way children do that stuff for their parents) and she connects the dots. Also the rot here is because the overuse of the power new magic is able to draw out without the control of old magic is taking too much energy from the earth, and woodsy areas thrive on it, thus the root like structures of the rot. The trees are basically oysters for the magic energy of the world. When its bad, they turn bad too. Also make her more of a "expresses affection through favors and actions, not words" person. She, Rose and Sage took wayy too long to become friends. Amaryllis stays the same because she is perfect and I love her and if you disagree to talk to the wall I personally think Snapdragon is good too but I would make him genderfluid instead. I think that the idea of Caraway THINKING he might be a trans girl but that ending up not the correct answer would reinforce his "there's always more options than you think" speech. And someone needs to point out how he's drawn to women that scream at him. Also we need a better arc with his dad instead of the raw carrot that was the canonical "his dad reinforces toxic masculinity hurr durr" thing we got (that wasn't even well made btw) NOW TO THE SIDIES
Tumblr media
Slime boy is now named Slime boy because of an accident he had in potions class the previous year (he's one year older than the main cast) which caused him to continuously produce a slime like substance instead of stuff like spit and sweat. It doesn't inconvenience him a lot other than him making bubbles when he speaks every now and then. He's just an assistant in the terrasphere shop, and the owners are Alloe and Anise (wow they actually do something else in the story!!) but he's mainly just a more experienced student that sometimes knows things the main cast doesn't like secret entrances and cool rooms and stuff. He's a full on bard because that was barely explored in canon and music based attacks are cool. He has the tiniest little crush on parnelle cuz I thought that would be fun Parnelle is ENBY because I SAID SO (and cuz cal is stablished as transphobic and I like payoffs) and since whatever they're doing at the academy is never really clarified, I made them kind of an animal whisperer, like they call on animals to assist them in battle and other stuff. (Maybe then we actually get to see the trixies again after their prolongued mating dance that lead to literally nothing in episode 1) being an animal whisperer is a very rare "old magic" hability thus why they entered the academy one year earlier than expected. They sew their own clothes and are still the generally weird little guy they are in canon, except this time its explained as them preferring to communicate with animals ever since they were a child. They are still very polite and friendly tho, always happy to help. Cal is (his full name is calamagrostis and like if I was named that I'd be an asshole too) still parnelle's cousin, but he doesn't outright bullies them. in fact, he isn't an outright bully, he just tends to look down on other people that don't follow what he believes in, which is a more traditional view on the world, kind of like sage, so I thought of him maybe being a catalyst to her being like "wow I can see why my way of thinking may be bad now, I don't want to be like him" which pushes her to grow and stuff. And I want him to grow as well, so I thought, maybe he and Snapdragon used to be friends, but recently they drifted apart and he started to kind of resent him after he came out as genderfluid, but deep down he still misses his friend, so maybe that pushes his character development. And other people saying that hes kind of a prick. idk I just really hate the trope of a bully character just being there to be the mc's punching bag instead of getting development.
In general, the lore would be (I think, I'm not the best at lore) that Guardians are generally like soldiers, but in a more captain america type of way. they're more like beacons of hope and symbols or power and peace than soldiers are, (thus rosemary knowing a bunch of them as they're usually famous) but they are still required to know combat. High Guardian Academy is known as a guarantee to become a good soldier, and a high chance to become a guardian. They VERY recently implemented new magic in the curriculum, but are experimenting with mixing its high power output with old magic's control of it, (thus why caraway knows how but why none of the students are being thaught it. It's a fairly new tecnique they'd rather get a good grasp on before teaching a bunch of children how to use it) because since they're expertly trained guardians they can tell that a terrasphere takes too much energy above what would be considered okay. They just aren't aware of how much tho, the extent of the rot is a secret held close to their chests by witch country, which is where the terraspheres come from, which has brought them tons of profit and advancements. So when someone knows about the extent, or tries to stop it, they are eliminated, (thus why thyme's dad died. People that stayed in the fairy woods and knew how bad new magic could be were all "silenced" so they could keep profiting out of it.) (Any letters or research about the rot, or from the people that knew, were burned and interfered with, thats why no one else knew about it.) idk what else to talk about cuz this show had such little things to explore but there's so much filler that almost none of it got explored but I think it had potential, even if I prefer to focus on character interactions and how they change eachother. Again, I'm not very good with lore. and plot.

Nik Knight's Good Omens Fic Masterpost
I write a lot of smaller fics (and sometimes poems) for Good Omens, most often based off of art that others have made here on Tumblr. Below are links and short descriptions of each post. There are also AO3 links for some of my stories as well as longer chapter fics that are not featured here on Tumblr.
Lending a Hand: -This is a short fic based on a drawing from @lookitsstevie about Aziraphale helping out Crowley after he was injured from his Fall. It can be read on Tumblr here or on AO3 here. An Archangel with a Mug: -Another short fic based off of a drawing by @lookitsstevie; this one is about Gabriel being given a cup of cocoa shortly after losing his memory. This was written before season 2. It can be read on Tumblr here or on AO3 here. Sir Aziraphale Sneaks Out Again: -Yet another ficlet based off of a drawing by @lookitsstevie; this one is about Aziraphale as a knight sneaking away to read his favorite serpent a story. It can be read on Tumblr here.
His World in Her Hands: -A ficlet based off of a drawing by @camilleflyingrotten about Crowley begging God to save Aziraphale after the angel was lethally injured. You can read it on Tumblr here. It can also be found on AO3 here. We'll Meet Again: -A ficlet based on art by @gingerhaole about that night in 1941 where Crowley believes he only has a few hours left on Earth with his angel and decides he would like one last dance with him. It can be read on Tumblr here or on Ao3 here. Aziraphale's Nightmare: This is a ficlet based on @sightkeeper's art about Crowley consoling Aziraphale after a nightmare. It can be read on Tumblr here. The Angel He So Loved The World: -A poem based on art by @lejoursobre's art about how Aziraphale feels after leaving Earth post-season 2. It can be read on Tumblr here.
Suggestion Box: -A ficlet based on @lookitsstevie's art where Aziraphale offers Crowley a suggestion box as an olive branch. It can be read on Tumblr here. A Healthy Demon Needs His Rest: -A poem based off of @hg-aneh's art about Aziraphale taking care of a sleepy Crowley. It can be read on Tumblr here. Ineffable Catboys: - This is a multi-chapter fic based on art drawn by @hg-aneh. It is an AU where the lads are Catboys. This fic is unfinished, but still being written. There are several posts with art and chapters that you can find either on my blog or Aneh's blog, but the whole fic can be read on AO3 here or you can find the first chapter on Tumblr here. A Spark in the Darkness: -A one-shot based on another piece by @hg-aneh where Aziraphale falls and seeks Crowley out after discovering that he no longer feels anything on the inside. It can be read on Tumblr here.
AO3 Exclusive Fics
Where I'm Meant to Be: -A fic written shortly after the release of the season 2 trailer. It is a speculation of how Gabriel's situation might have been after he lost his memory. It is a continuation of An Archangel With A Mug. It can be read on AO3 here.

So, I just found out that because Banana trees have succulent tree stems instead of wooden ones they're technically not trees at all. They're herbs, and are in fact distantly related to ginger. Therefore, it's entirely possible if HGS continues we may get a guardian named Banana. Your thoughts?
P.S. I don't know why my first instinct after learning this knowledge was to relate it to a fantasy cartoon with herb named characters. Please pray for me.
...Alright, full honesty. I thought that the general character theme naming was plants and flowers and that Parsley, Sage, Rosemary, and Thyme were the only ones who were specifically herbs. And that that's why they were High Guardian Spice but no one else was.
Now I have to process the information that olive is an herb.

do you think fg will show up soon in his life? Where is she now with her life? And what does a future hold for hg and olivia? Is o in good relationship with hg family and friends? And how does hg rly feel about oliv?
So many good questions. Let me start. Will FG show up soon - No (6vof wands reversed). Has she shown already - Yes (The tower reversed).
The hidden part is king of wands - it is a person, with considerable power to manipulate and use his connections. This card / this person will continue to be in the shadows. He will continue to stand on the side and watch. I though at first glance that he is some type of messenger but he is there to make sure that no one is taken advantage of.
FG - she is resting, or in a way - withdrawn from society. She has opportunities coming her way and she is seizing them up. There is also the hierophant. Some kind of dealing with officials. The vibe that I am getting is - the architecture buro for some kind of permit.
Is O in good relationship with friends and family - it is a maybe (Queen of Swords reversed) and as hidden some are genuinely disliking her ( 6 of wands reversed).
At the same timec- when asking this question for friends only I got the king of wands and a yes. For family - Justice. Strong yes.
About the future of HG and 0- I got only minor arcana so this means that this is very short turn prediction. 8 of swords: tied down. They are both starting to feel it.
6 of wanda reversed came up again which is strange. Maybe something happened on the wedding that left a bad reputation to them as a couple. But something that us peasant won't recognize as tacky but the high profile people at the wedding knew instantly and dubbed HG's choice of bride ... someone used the word: unfortunate.
At least they have this wedding over with - 2 of wands reversed. It's done, it's over. There's no more fighting - 5 of wands reversed. The 6 of swords reversed is indicating that thr Grosvenors are happy that she is moving in with them and away from her family.
The good news about all of these cards is that they are short term. As for timingv- the 5 of swords is 5 months or January 20th to 29th. It was in reverse so - the timing is strange. I'd say 5 months backwards. Whatever conflict had started in end of January was finally concluded with the marriage and it's over with.
They might need a few days to shake it off completely. I'd say - about a month for the timing.
And then - the 3 months after that the focus will be on Ace of pentacles reversed: a failed enterpreneurial endeavour or a failed nee beginning. Could even be a failed IVF. (I've seen it to mean that in readings) .Something that didn't work in the past will be revisited right after the 1st month after the wedding.
And - how does HG feel about O. At first I misread the question to how FG feels about O and I got: 7 of cups reversed (she knows about her) and Magician reversed (that is a bit strong feeling, shw thinks O used some type of manipulation to get him)
Now onto HG - 8 of swords. That is not a good way to feel about your wife. He feels trapped and stuck. He sees her positively - like the 9 of pentacles. For him it is important that she does not make him feel suffocated and leave him be free (The fool). I can only imagine this type of dynamic when the other partner is clingy. However, O doesn't strike me as the puppy that follows along type of person. It's highly likely that HG married because it was time but he has a very strong sense of freedom and is bothered that this can be clipped by a wife.

Okay saw the Oliver ask about him and roms and no I need my two cents in. Lol
1. Oliver has probably played Kaizo Mario, like the og one.
2. Him making a harder pokemon game makes me think he'd probably be able to beat Kaizo Pokemon Emerald so easily. Lol
3. Your tags. Hello fellow stardew valley modding enthusiast!! If my Mac book could still run steam I'd so be doing that right now, rip my Mac book. It's from 2009! 😭☠️
Also SDV is like the first game I ever modded and it was so easy, now I just have like a mod list I always use. Lol. Also found out you can mod mobile, so cool!! One day I'll play it again. Lol 😁
100%, absolutely. and then made a bunch more for funsies. the fact he's too early for super mario maker is an absolute TRAVESTY.
oliver is accidentally going to invent emerald kaizo like eight years early. unfortunately he's still a year off from playing fire red omega. HOWEVER he is just in time for sacred gold and storm silver! he has not played og hg or ss. he loads storm silver up on an R4 for the Authentic Pokemon Experience
i had no idea you could mod mobile! i also play on steam. I loove SVE and have a few NPC mods. and of course quality of life mods. auto-tool swap and in-game note list my beloved. i think every game should have an in-game note taking system, esp games like stardew valley.

Tumblr media
from: MULTIMUSE MEME status: accepting!
Tumblr media
Starting with the obvious, totally want to throw Cassia Snow at her favorite grandfather, Coriolanus! Also Tigris and Coriolanus, of course.
Edgar biting more than he can chew and investigating my horrible, horrible little Salomé for Delta Green👀 she likes to go on earth and cause all sorts of trouble. He could also meet Scully & Mulder, or even investigate Olive's possession case 👀
Also Edgar as an ex-peacekeeper now Capitol diplomat?? Meeting any of my HG babies??? 👀
Dr. House being thrown in the paranormal shenanigans of my muses is always great, so he should somehow have to meddle with Cassandra & Mina's health issues.
Moriarty trying to get his hands on AISHA??? An all knowing AI could always come in handy.
Bertie falling into the Underland and meeting Luxa!! He's king, she's queen, it could be fun 😂 And of course we must write Luxa and Coriolanus together in her HG AU!!

Oooh! I like most of the ones above that are mentioned although to be fair I have yet to read A Little Price, A Raisin in the Sun, and To Kill a Mockingbird and yes, I know that last one is considered to be THE BEST book of all time.
Some of my favorites not mentioned;
Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte. Basically everything by the three Bronte sisters (Charlotte, Emily, and Anne) were great reads to me.
Everything Jane Austen wrote.
Little Women by Louisa May Alcott
Tess of the d'Urbervilles by Thomas Hardy. I know a lot of people either love or dislike Hardy and that is completely valid. He has a lot of novels but this one has to be my favorite that I've read by him so far.
One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel García Márquez. I just read that last year and couldn't put it down. Really looking forward to reading Love in the Time of Cholera by him very soon.
Les Miserables and The Hunchback of Notre Dame by Victor Hugo
The War of the Worlds by HG Wells
The Last of the Mohicans by James Fenimore Cooper
Lorna Doone by R. D. Blackmore
North and South by Elizabeth Gaskell. A lot of Gaskell's books are good.
A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens. Probably not the best Dickens book to start out with (if you first start reading Dickens I'd say Oliver Twist, Great Expectations, or The Pickwick Papers are your best bet) but it is my favorite. Bleak House was also good.
War and Peace by Leo Tolstoy. Granted, I doubt many schools would ever assign this one because it's such a lengthy novel, but despite it's thousand or so pages it is well worth reading and truly isn't as intimidating as you would imagine it to be.
*The Woman in Black by Susan Hill. Not sure if it's considered a classic but it is spooky season so it has to be mentioned! If you are into spooky books then I recommend this, most of Edgar Allan Poe's works (The Pit and the Pendulum being my personal fave, but I think everyone has a favorite Poe story =P) The Yellow Wallpaper by Charlotte Perkins Gilman, The Lottery by Shirley Jackson, The Turn of the Screw by Henry James, and Carmilla by Sheridan Le Fanu.
Honorable mention; Greek plays. A lot of them are absolutely insane. And when I was in high school I know a lot of the students really loved reading Beowulf.
Hey so like many of you, I saw that article about how people are going into college having read no classic books. And believe it or not, I've been pissed about this for years. Like the article revealed, a good chunk of American Schools don't require students to actually read books, rather they just give them an excerpt and tell them how to feel about it. Which is bullshit.
So like. As a positivity post, let's use this time to recommend actually good classic books that you've actually enjoyed reading! I know that Dracula Daily and Epic the Musical have wonderfully tricked y'all into reading Dracula and The Odyssey, and I've seen a resurgence of Picture of Dorian Gray readership out of spite for N-tflix, so let's keep the ball rolling!
My absolute favorite books of all time are The Haunting of Hill House and We Have Always Lived in the Castle by Shirley Jackson. Classic psychological horror books about unhinged women.
I adore The Bad Seed by William March. It's widely considered to be the first "creepy child" book in American literature, so reading it now you're like "wow that's kinda cliche- oh my god this is what started it. This was ground zero."
I remember the feelings of validation I got when people realized Dracula wasn't actually a love story. For further feelings of validation, please read Frankenstein by Mary Shelley and The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson. There's a lot the more popular adaptations missed out on.
Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier is an absolute gem of a book. It's a slow-build psychological study so it may not be for everyone, but damn do the plot twists hit. It's a really good book to go into blind, but I will say that its handling of abuse victims is actually insanely good for the time period it was written in.
Moving on from horror, you know people who say "I loved this book so much I couldn't put it down"? That was me as a kid reading A Little Princess by Frances Hodgson Burnett. Picked it up while bored at the library and was glued to it until I finished it.
Peter Pan and Wendy by JM Barrie was also a childhood favorite of mine. Next time someone bitches about Woke Casting, tell them that the original 1911 Peter Pan novel had canon nonbinary fairies.
Watership Down by Richard Adams is my sister Cori's favorite book period. If you were a Warrior Cats, Guardians of Ga'Hoole or Wings of Fire kid, you owe a metric fuckton to Watership Down and its "little animals on a big adventure" setup.
A Raisin in the Sun by Lorraine Hansberry was a play and not a book first, but damn if it isn't a good fucking read. It was also named after a Langston Hughes poem, who's also an absolutely incredible author.
Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury is a book I absolutely adore and will defend until the day I die. It's so friggin good, y'all, I love it more than anything. You like people breaking out of fascist brainwashing? You like reading and value knowledge? You wanna see a guy basically predict the future of television back in 1953? Read Fahrenheit.
Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain and To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee are considered required reading for a reason: they're both really good books about young white children unlearning the racial biases of their time. Huck Finn specifically has the main character being told that he will go to hell if he frees a slave, and deciding eternal damnation would be worth it.
As a sidenote, another Mark Twain book I was obsessed with as a kid was A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court. Exactly what it says on the tin, incredibly insane read.
If Beale Street Could Talk by James Baldwin is a heartbreaking but powerful book and a look at the racism of the time while still centering the love the two black protagonists feel for each other. Giovanni's Room by the same author is one that focuses on a MLM man struggling with his sexuality, and it's really important to see from the perspective of a queer man living in the 50s– as well as Baldwin's autobiographical novel, Go Tell it on the Mountain.
Agatha Christie mysteries are all still absolutely iconic, but Murder on the Orient Express is such a good read whether or not you know the end twist.
Maybe-controversial-maybe-not take: Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov is a good book if you have reading comprehension. No, you're not supposed to like the main character. He pretty much spells that out for you at the end ffs.
Animal Farm by George Orwell was another favorite of mine; it was written as an obvious metaphor for the rise of fascism in Russia at the time and boy does it hit even now.
And finally, please read Shakespeare plays. As soon as you get used to their way of talking, they're not as hard to understand as people will lead you to believe. My absolute favorite is Twelfth Night- crossdressing, bisexual love triangles, yellow stockings... it's all a joy.
and those are just the ones i thought of off the top of my head! What're your guys' favorite classic books? Let's make everyone a reading list!
