Some people look at the Bible and see “thou shall not”. The Bible is so much more than that. Yes, the Old Testament is full of laws, and God’s wrath, at times, but there is much more to be found. Without looking at the New Testament, you can see the freedom in trusting God. You can find freedom in obeying those commands. Our Creator is not one to limit the lives of His children. He wants to keep us safe, out of harm’s way. If we follow His laws, as they are laid out in the OT, and we live out the Great Command of the New Testament, we are FREE live a life filled with purpose and joy. That’s the life I seek. It arrived anonymously, a white raven in the morning to wherever the roguish elf was staying. Where it knew to travel was best left forgotten. It gathered Jorithas' attention before flying off, a basket left in its wake. Inside, protected by hay, rested a few bottles of Oldlaw Whiskey. A brand from Westfall known for its popularity with soldiers. Beside's the bottle rested a few chocolates and a pack of Westfall sparks to be smoked.

Though the arrival of the white raven had caught him off guard, Jorithas found himself amused at the appearance of the familiar creature. As it flew off he went outside and retrieved the basket, barely waiting to get back into the house as he dug through it. The whiskey was no surprise, but it pleased him nonetheless. The cigarettes didn’t surprise him either, but it had been some time since he’d had any, especially this specific blend. What did surprise him was the chocolate. Though he had a sweet tooth at times, it was rare that he indulged that particular vice, but he had a feeling that Ra’hsen had made those chocolates, which of course meant that he would sample them happily. Once inside his home he opened one of the bottles of whiskey and poured himself a drink. Jorithas found it strange that Ra’hsen had sent him gifts as he could think of no particular reason why the man might. Perhaps it was a thanks for their recent coupling, or perhaps the priest was just feeling thoughtful. Either way, the redhead drank deep of the whiskey and contemplated how to thank his darling dove for the gifts. A certain request of the Reverend’s came to mind and Jorithas couldn’t help but wonder which alleyway would be best for fulfilling it.
