Reading a book and torn between "adding in a boyfriend is silly and heteronormative they should be old lady lesbians" and "being a couple is amatonormative they should stay best friends or be queer-platonic". But either way, put away the shoehorned boyfriend he is unecessary.
#old girls behaving badly by kate galley#generally i give it like c+ maaaybe b-#if it was a standard kind of plot it would be much lower. the prose is a little clumsy and unsubtle but its not actively awful or anything#its about a suddenly divorced retired 71yr old woman hired as a carer/companion for an 89 yr old woman for a week at a family wedding#extravaganza situation#but shes actually been hired to heist back a stolen art piece from thr guy whos mansion theyre staying at#the antagonist is incredibly camp and over the top and I cant quite tell how much is deliberate and how much is trying to make him The Other#but just makes him kinda hilarious#he has plans for Meals and Activities and everything has a differrent theme hes gone all out for including an impeccable outfit every time#its fun#i like it#ill probably look for the sequel#mine#review
