This 1890 fixer-upper in Streator, Illinois, was a foreclosure that sold for $44,960.

The carved wood is gorgeous and there’s an “M” on the newel post b/c it’s called The Moss House.

Pocket doors & a fireplace that looks like it may be workable. The rooms get a lot of light, too.

Beautiful built-in and original chandelier.

Nice, big kitchen.

This is huge, has lots of windows, and doesn’t need too much work, for under $50,000.

Another pocket door and lots of light.

This large, 1860 fixer upper can be a real stunner. It’s up for auction and the starting bid is $43,000. Bidders aren’t allowed inside, but can walk around the exterior.

The house has 5 bedrooms and 4 baths, so it’s pretty big.

There are nice views of all the rooms on the 1st floor, so it has an open feel. There’s a lot of wallpaper- mostly what they call “cosmetic work.” But, the woodwork is perfect.

This fireplace is in good condition.

I rather like the kitchen.

The bedrooms aren’t in bad shape.

The bathrooms need renovation.

And, this back room needs work- like the drop ceiling. The exterior needs work, too, but it would be a beautiful home, for the right price.
