I think its the first time I've seen anything where Charlie and Shirley are talking to one another, at least audibly. It is wonderfully cute.

This is so lovely! I saw a version of it years ago, but it was much shorter and the quality was so poor that I never bothered to post or gif it. It’s a shame we don’t have more footage of them interacting because they’re exactly as funny and cute as one would expect. (Also, sorry about how the thumbnail looks. If you click on the video to play that header and the control buttons will disappear after a few seconds, there was just no way for me to screen capture the first bit of the video without them).

Also, I’m not a dog person, but I love the Wattses rescue dogs. Especially this girl who is so emo about her mum and dad not paying 100% attention to her.

in modern au westeros, do the targaryens count as old money? i know they have been around for like 300 years now but i can see like a bolton or a hightower being like “anyone who showed up in the past 1000 years could leave in the next 1000” (v targeted comment)

i mean probably old money given that they’ve been aristocrats the whole time (even if in valyria they were middling) but there was definitely a sense that they were foreign in the beginning before the conquest. arguably the doctrine of exceptionalism encourages that but it’s hard to be new money when you literally founded the country. When we compare them to the houses that are considered “new money” like the tyrells, brackens, cleganes, or baelishes, that isn’t really their situation at all

Socmed discussions about Saltburn, to me —

1) reveal that people are even more squeamish about explicit gay sexuality than they think they are

(And if this is what passes for shocking erotic excess, then we, in the anglosphere, are in a more — not making a comment about individuals here — restrained moment with mainstream American/British adult cinema than we were with mainstream adult heterosexual cinema in the 90s, eg the erotic thriller)

And

2) suggest people are increasingly making art that is in conversation with, if not explicitly nostalgic for, the 2010-16 Tumblr-era.

(I really truly suspect Saltburn is, in part, an adaptation of the tropes and aesthetics that were in certain “The Social Network” fan spaces.)

Baron Geoffrey Gorlois

Geoffrey doesn't have any real powers aside from being a Psychic type pokemon, and he is not actually royalty despite acting like it, at face value he's just a normal pokemon, and yet that doesn't mean he should be underestimated.

Geoffrey is a cautious man who does not play fair, he's the head of a very successful trading company, he has influence over Politicians, Lawmakers, Guards, Mercenaries, and Criminals, and while he is no wizard or Warlock himself he is a collector of Magic Artifacts, especially ones used to bind creatures to his command like Fey, Demons, Ghosts, Genies, Elementals, Golems, etc…There is nobody he won't exploit. Aside from just trying to control supernatural creatures, he has also made contracts with other powerful creatures in exchange for more power or favors, however he is more than likely to try to cheat or loophole his way through a deal than to pay it forward, Geoffrey does not believe in suffering consequences, especially if somebody else can suffer in his place.

He's not a man to easily be messed with and yet his Daughter Morgan and her Girlfriend Kaida constantly oppose him. Geoffrey had Morgan specifically to control her so he could use her as a bargaining chip to advance his own power, but when Morgan met Kaida as a young teenager she was inspired to rebel and pursue her independence and her dreams. Geoffrey hates Kaida and has grown to hate Morgan as she is no longer a resource but a liability who he can't control and has given him a bad look among his peers. He tries to blame it all on Kaida.
