Am I getting confident?!

Since I had tea school the day right after the Grand Tokyo Tea Ceremony, I have not put my thoughts on record right after the practice as usual. There was a lot going on these days.

But tea school was really calming. Especially since I got to practice with the same utensils like last time, because we practice for the event in December. And this will probably continue until the end of the year.

This is very unusual, since tea ceremony follows the seasons a lot! But to be honest: getting to know some utensils in this way and becoming familiar with them, is an interesting experience as well. And I made less mistakes than last time. I will be so brave to say: I might be confident to do the event without mistakes.

Besides that I have only two side notes:

1. Coincidentally, my skirt matched the manju of that day. I liked that a lot. Also this is a new skirt and it’s perfect for practices (some skirts can get really annoying lol).

2. I made a photo the temizuya where we clean our hands and mouth before we join the practice. There is no reason why. I just never did until now but somehow thought on that day, why not take a picture. So here you go.

also no ace attorney. kumiko suekane, one of the official artists of the franchise who had a lot of involvement in phoenix and edgeworth's dynamic was a BL artist.

I remember reading an interview where Shu Takumi stated that Phoenix actually thinks of Edgeworth to be “a pretty cute guy,” after talking about Suekane’s influence in his development. There are also a lot of hints of the BL influences in official art that Suekane drew, such as Edgeworth and the girls making a Phoenix statue out of chocolate for Valentine’s day using a naked photo of Phoenix and stuff added to the game like the whole “saddled with unnecessary feelings” line that was intended to be ambiguous enough so that it could easily be read as romantic. Nintendo Gamer also had them as one of the top Nintendo couples, so there’s that too!

It’s also worth noting that Phoenix’s VA in the anime is Yuuki Kaiji who was Shima Kawauchi in This Boy Caught a Merman, as well as A LOT of BL Drama CDs (Kotoba Nante Iranai, Ame no Kaeru Tokoro, Anata wa Taida de Yuuga, Calling, Dekichatta Danshi,  Devigel Chronicle ~Yami no Fuuin Amai Kizuato, Kuchuu Teien, Mayoeru Shomin ni Ai no Te wo, Nekoka Danshi no Shitsukekata, Ouji to Kotori,  Sugar Code, Wabi to Eros no Okeiko, Yachin Hanbun no Ibasho Desu and Yume Musubi Koi Musubi)

Last Practice before the Tea Party!!!

In generell todays practice went as the last ones. We practiced a lot for our chakai next week.

Everyone seems to be a bit nervous. Even my teachers. They were discussing several details. But everyone is also getting just to the flow - at least as far as I can judge.

Today I learned one really important thing and a minor but helpful thing:

Which hand I use when I move the chawan depends on the surroundings of the chawan. If the natsume stands on the right, I use the left hand. If there is the kensui below on the left side, I use the right hand. And so on. This is to not knock down the other utensils. And as always, it makes soooo much sense!!!

I don’t adjust the amount of hot water when I rinse the chawan. Just one full cup of the hishaku is perfect. I don’t know why I it was different in my mind.

I also talked with my teacher about wearing a kimono. She will help me to put it on in the morning. I’m really thankful to have her as a teacher. Se also gifted me a lot of presents without any reason again. I have jet to look at them when I’m home.

I’m really looking forward to the event! I still have to read and figure out the handwritten notes of my teacher though o.o"

#長沼静きもの学院 の自由が丘校にて。 #くみひも の体験レッスンを受講してきました。 和柄が大好きで、小物やアクセサリーを自分で作ってみたいな～なんて思ったりもしていた中で気になっていた伝統工芸。 一度体験してみたかった“くみひも”での作品づくり。 和の教室って、作法やら何ならと厳しそう？って感じでちょっと敷居が高いイメージがあったので。 教室に入る前はけっこう緊張していたんだけど、先生方は気さくですごく優しくめちゃくちゃアットホームな雰囲気。 たまに世間話でも盛り上がったりしたりして。 そんな居心地の中でのくみひも体験、気分もリラックスした状態で素直に楽しむことができました♪ 組紐の丸台を使い創った作品は、結びストラップ。 上板の穴から玉に巻いた糸を8つ出し、順番に糸を交差させていくと紐が組み下がっていくという… 基本はシンプルな仕組み、単純な動作の繰り返しで紡いでいくという流れになります。 単純な動作の繰り返しって私の性格上、飽きがきそうにも思ってたんだけどこれが全く飽きずで。 出来上がった後ちょっと物足りないくらい？(笑)もっとやりたいかもって思うくらい、最後まで飽きることなく楽しく作業を続けることができました。 出来上がったストラップは、めちゃくちゃ素敵♡ 絹糸って綺麗～ 反射するように輝く艶に色気もあったりで、本当に素敵。 すごく細い糸なのに、強度が高いところも魅力的。 繋ぎ合わせることで更に強度も増すので、綺麗な状態を保ったまま長く愛用できるところも魅力の1つですね。 そして、私って意外と器用だった？ って言うか、担当して下さった先生の教え方がすごく丁寧で上手だったので。 説明から、制作、仕上げ、完成したストラップのお渡しまで約60分〜90分になるんだけど。 60分もかからずで全ての工程が完了、先生のサポートも大きかったけどスムーズにこんな素敵なストラップを創ることができて大感動です✨ くみひも、ハマったかも。 教室の雰囲気もすごく良かったし、本格的に習得してみたくなってきちゃいました😆 本格的に長沼静きもの学院のくみひも科でレッスンを受けるってなると、さまざまな組紐の組み方を学びながら帯締作成をメインに授業が進み。 認定を受けたあとは自身で制作した作品販売が出来るのも魅力＆担当して下さった先生もだったけど、学院講師への道に進むチャンスがあったりするのも魅力ですね。 長沼静きもの学院のくみひも体験レッスン。 気になった方、体験してみたいなと思った方はこちらから→ https://www.naganuma-kimono.co.jp/lp/okeiko/ or学院のInstagram公��アカウントからチェックしてみてね！ 【公式】長沼静きもの学院： @naganumashizu_kimonogakuin #kumihimo #組紐 #和柄小物 #和装 #きもの #着物 #ファッション #fashion #ストラップ #体験レッスン #伝統工芸 #絹糸 #くみひも教室 #着付け教室 #着付け #習い事 #和文化 #asagakeで体験 @asagakecom #instagood #instalife #instajapan (自由が丘) https://www.instagram.com/p/CaHXrv0l-9f/?utm_medium=tumblr

been a while since i posted a selfie but did some experimental kitsuke today/tonight for the urasenke end-of-semester demonstration/lecture and farewell dinner for the urasenke instructor. some Jack friends back in Japan recently had a "soiree" where a lot of ladies wore hiked up hems like this (albeit with houmongi and other nicer pieces) so i wanted to give it a shot myself. i felt like i could relax a bit and be casual because it's not my school and i wasn't actually involved in presenting or performing. it's also been a while since i wore a patterned haneri which was a nice change. it was surprisingly comfortable and perfect tempurature-wise (light wool with a han juban and heat tech tights) with just a haori when outside. prob back to more traditional kitsuke for okeiko saturday.
