Are they going to turn around and watch as Chilchuck is thrust back into the dungeon? Is chilchuck going to feel grief at being loved so much even If it fails in the end?

red vs blue disney descendants au. the four from the isle r the new republic four, Simmons, Grif, Tucker, n Caboose

-Simmons is the son of syndrome (buddy pine). he kept his moms last name. still a cyborg, but instead from a bad lab accident. thanks to synthetic skin and holograms, he doesn't look cyborgy, but all the isle kids know. a walking ball of neuroses and stress, the isle was Not good for his blood pressure

-Grif, his mom hooked up with Maui right before getting sent to the isle for minor crimes. surprise surprise, shes pregnant! he's a shapeshifter, but only figures that out off of the isle. Kai still exists, but they don't know who her dad is (it's hades). definitely has the whole "i do not care" personality on lock, but secretly cares So Much

-Tucker was raised by the three witches from The Black Cauldron. it's sort of a foster care situation, but it works out well for pretty much everyone. regular human guy, but his plasma sword is the sword that they traded the Cauldron for. in his Chorus era personality wise, and considers himself the leader of their little group

-Caboose, p obviously Gaston is his dad. so now in addition to his 17 sisters, he's got a couple of brothers too lol. definitely too nice for the isle, but since he's a powerhouse, nobody messes with him.

everyone else is an auradon person. Lopez and Sarge are teachers, Lopez teaches Spanish, and only speaks in it as a goal of immersion. Sarge is a gym teacher for every sport we dont see in canon, and also the shop teacher. Both are wary about the concept of the Isle kids, as neither of them taught the original four to come over

-Donut is the son of Aurora and her prince (yes because the pink). he's on the school's sports team. definitely pro isle kids coming over. his older sister Audrey and him don't get along very well, but they're close, though they used to be closer.

-Doc is the son of Rapunzel and Eugene, and maybe sort of has some of her magic healing abilities? they work arbitrarily and Weirdly, but sometimes do. him and Donut are close, and he's a bit more hesitant about the isle kids

-Wash is the son of Anna and Kristoff. excited to get to know new people. his aunt being Elsa means he's a lot more open to people not turning evil just because it's expected of them.

-Carolina is the daughter of Merida, the director is the same in p much every universe tho.. she was raised in a split custody sort of situation, and has Opinions. about everything. she thinks that having VKs come over is going to explode in a fiery mess. she's on pretty much every sports team, and one of the scariest people at the school

-Church is Carolina's younger half brother, and half fairy. no one is Exactly sure how the director actually did that, but he did. definitely hates a lot of auradon's rules, and totally abuses his magic abilities for his own gain. very excited for the VKs to come over and make things Interesting

plotwise, it would be sorta a follow up to descendants 1. well, the first group of Villain kids chose to not be evil, now the next group. they pick a group of, relatively minor, villain kids to bring over. None of whom are at all interested in revenge plots. instead, they are just massive, kinda messed up, dicks. i have no other plot atp.

things i do want to see tho:

-ppl figuring out simmons is an actual cyborg. How. Why. please replace your parts you're rusting

-grif finding out he can shapeshift, and immediately using it to nap. and then finding out who his dad is. this does not cause problems (it does)

-nobody wants tucker to have a sword. except for tucker. and the sword. can you get ESA exceptions for a magical sword that flies? lets discuss

-caboose goes jock mode. caboose is the only one of them actually adjusting to auradon.

-carolina trying to convince people that inviting more VKs over is an absolute Bad Idea until she meets them and realizes that in terms of actual damage, they're Very incompetent

-church attaches himself onto the VK group in his latest bout of rebellion.

-wash, doc, and donut are assigned as their welcoming/guide team to auradon. this is stressful for all of them

not to ough immediately bad post but. red vs blue characters in the Disney descendants setting. (look we all have our comfort medias, mine just so happen to include rainbow skittle assholes w swords and rip-off ever after high). if this post gets two (2) notes, i will release my thoughts on what an rvb descendants au would look like

one day after breakfast during your fifth year at camp when you’re both about 18, chiron decides to host a good old game of capture the flag

u know . for old times’ sake 😼

once he makes the announcement you immediately turn to your cabin mates

“we have to win no matter what”

“y/n, it’s just capture the flag. we’re not fighting gaea”

“bitch are u in or not”

the entire dining hall is buzzing with excitement

nothing makes a demigod’s day like a capture the flag announcement 😌

chiron suddenly grabs the megaphone again and calls out “this time however there’s a little twist,” he chuckles as everybody goes silent

you raise an eyebrow

“you’ll be in teams of course. everybody has to play. there’s twenty cabins, so there will be ten teams of two cabins each. i’ll pair you guys up myself. each pair gets a flag–so there’s ten flags in total. the game will be won by the pair who manages to collect all flags and brings them back to their base before anyone has the chance to steal their own flag.”

the demigods burst into intense chatter and discussion once more

you turn your head back to your siblings and tilt your head in slight confusion

you’ve never played capture the flag in teams before

“anyone but apollo. i’m literally begging. sam, pray to athena right now”

“y/n RELAX”

“i think if we’re partners with apollo’s cabin i’ll actually jump into tartarus”

chiron pulls out a scroll and calls out the pairings one by one

poseidon and demeter, hades and ares (good luck to them), so on and so forth

your heart keeps racing . athena’s name has not been called out yet

and just like that your worst fear comes true

“athena cabin with apollo cabin. the game will commence in thirty minutes, which is how much time you have to prepare. good luck and stay safe!”

you lift your head up to see him hovering over your seat and roll your eyes

you get up and your siblings follow

you’re just gonna have to make do. you don’t have time to complain

the thing is

you’ve only lost capture the flag once 👎🏼

a few summers ago the apollo cabin defeated the entire camp leaving everybody speechless

it’s true they didn’t defeat JUST you but somehow you thought it was personal

you had the PERFECT record 😕

zero losses . only wins

but bc of the apollo kids your cabin’s record was tarnished

which is sorta why you started hating them (esp donghyuck their leader) so much

donghyuck caught on immediately and made it a point to compete just as hard as u

so yea. that’s how you became rivals

he knows how much ur gonna hate working with him but u don’t really have a choice now do u :/

so he knows exactly why u have a sad face

but this is donghyuck we’re talking about

just bc yall r “rivals” doesn’t mean he’s not gonna tease u 😂😂😂

so you start talking strategy

you only have 30 minutes so you need to make the best of it

you divide the two cabins into pairs so that an athena and an apollo kid will be paired together and in charge of smth diff

you have plenty of people on your team – 5 in athena’s cabin and 5 in apollo’s cabin

some will handle weapons and safety gear, some will handle mapping out the playing area which was basically the entirety of the woods, some will be setting up traps near your team’s flag to prevent others from coming close

30 minutes quickly pass and after dividing the work and planning your strategy with donghyuck and friends you turn your attention back to chiron who has his megaphone in hand

everyone’s told to gather outside the dining hall at the open field before the game commences

you, donghyuck, and your teammates briefly talk strategy once more . just to make sure everybody knows what they’re supposed to do

“let the game begin!” chiron blows a loud whistle and the demigods scramble out of the field, going to their designated flag locations

your spot is near a little creek, but the forest around your flag is quite dense so u figure it’s relatively hard to locate

it’s not that late so the afternoon sun makes your skin glisten with sweat

“damn, can you tell your dad to chill tf out for a while,” you tell donghyuck jokingly

he just rolls his eyes but on the inside he’s kinda glad you’re being casual with him rather than 😡😡😡😡😡 like u normally are

u don’t know what it is about him today but u swear he’s acting different around u

he wasn’t… as annoying while discussing strategy ????

he actually ?????? listened ?????? to what u had to say 🤔🤔🤔🤔

he didn’t argue, he didn’t even throw around witty burns like he usually does w/o hesitation

it’s like the colour of sunflowers

you and donghyuck r in charge of guarding the flag while ur team members scout around for the other flags

easy peasy

you and donghyuck are at your base now, weapons drawn just in case

the flag is hung on a poll couple feet taller than you

you’re dressed in ur usual training clothes – a pair of washed out shorts, a very old orange camp half-blood shirt; your sword’s sheath hanging from one of the belt loops of your shorts

donghyuck’s dressed similarly – a pair of blue ripped jeans, the same orange camp shirt tucked into them, but he has a purple flannel on, which he takes off and ties around his waist

“it’s so freaking hot,” he says, mentally agreeing with the comment u made about apollo earlier

“tell me about it”

there’s a silence that follows, the only sound heard is the subtle flow of the creek water

you’re thankful for the silence

it’s easier to keep an ear open for opponents on their way to steal your flag

just as you think about it, an ares and a hades kid approach your base

they’re on the other side of the creek, less than ten to fifteen feet away

“hi y/n,” the hades kid you’re kind of close to says

you shoot him a fake smile before holding your sword in front of you

donghyuck pulls out an arrow from his quiver and nocks it in his bow, aiming for the two demigods in front of you

the creek isn’t that deep, so the two demigods cross it with ease

they have their weapons drawn; they’re now a couple of feet away from you and more importantly the flag

no words are said as donghyuck lets his arrow fly and knock the hades’ kid sword out of his hands

he didn’t use an arrow with a sharp tip, you note

the hades’ kid stumbles backwards, imbalanced after he gets unarmed

you stand your ground as the ares’ kid scrambles forward, attacking you with her sword

your blades clash defiantly

you continue to spar with all your might

from the corner of your eye you see that the hades’ kid, sword back in hand, is battling donghyuck on your left

the flag is right behind you and donghyuck; you can’t let the two demigods get near it

you and the ares kid are still battling each other, putting all your strength into making sure she surrenders

but u should know better

ares and athena kids have many similarities like their love for winning, their confidence in battle, etc.

it’s like looking in a mirror

you don’t have anything against this particular ares kid, though

“c’mon, y/n, give up already”

that REALLY makes your blood boil

you never give up, no matter what

with one final blow of your sword, you knock her sword out of her hands, making her think she distracted you with her words

she goes flying back, half her body landing in the creek water

her sword lies in between you and her, but you doubt she’ll have the courage to fight again

the hades kid sees this and quickly scrambles away from hyuck, picking up the ares kid’s sword and giving her a hand up

“this is why i hate you and your siblings–your huge ego always gets in the way,” you hear the hades kid grumble to his partner as they run away from you, shame written all over their defeat

hyuck laughs and wipes sweat from his forehead

you can’t help but laugh either

you love it here at 🧡 camp half-blood 🧡

a few moments pass as your teammates emerge from the dense woods, each pair with a different colour flag held between them

you smile in victory

you quickly bring down your flag from its pole and give it to hyuck

“me? it was your plan…”

“yeah, but i couldn’t have done it without you, hyuck”

he almost passes out at your choice of nickname

back at the main hall, chiron announces your team as the winner, and that the prize yall being excused from doing chores all week long!!!!

it’s not much, but hey, at least you and hyuck ended up working together and winning the game, right?

later, hyuck pulls you aside from your cabin mates, and walks you to the lakeside

you two sit at the deck, side by side, watching the water doing nothing in particular

you watch as hyuck swings his feet lightly, his toes barely touching the water

“y/n, do you hate me?” donghyuck asks out of the blue

you’re like 😳 what

now that he asks you that . like straight up . it makes u think

do u REALLY hate him

or do u just hate losing to him

“why would i hate you?” you question back

“i don’t know? i guess because of our, um, rivalry thing i thought you can’t stand me”

you play with the beads of your camp necklace

“i don’t hate you, donghyuck. i just hate losing. i guess it’s the athena in me,” you laugh at how lame you sound

“i hate losing too, but i don’t hate you, in case you’re wondering.”

he takes a deep breath

“i know we started going against one another ‘cause of that one time my cabin won capture the flag, but i don’t want things to stay this way,” he pushes his hair back

“i guess what i’m saying is… i like working with you.” he pauses

“yeah,” he says, as if more convinced now, “and i would really like to get to know you better,” he clears his throat, very clearly embarrassed

you laugh at his flustered state

“stop laughing at me,” he stretches the last syllable as he lightly shoves you with his shoulder

you’re trying even harder to not laugh now, but for his sake, you hold it in

“that’s probably the cutest thing you’ve ever said”

he crosses his arms, “i’m always cute”

“how ‘bout we go slow? i mean, we just became un-enemies, we’re gonna need to be friends first, right?” you poke his shoulder

“you make a good point”

a year has passed and u and hyuck r basically bffs, attached at the hip, and everybody except mark is surprised as fuck

u have no clue abt his feelings for u and he has no clue abt ur feelings for him either

exactly a year after the iconic capture the flag game, ur both seated at the deck by the lakeside, side by side, again

after calming down, he shoves your shoulder lightly with his shoulder, like he always does (only to u tho)

“no, seriously, i need to tell you something”

“what’s up?”

“i,” he pauses, clears his throat, “like you. a lot–i have for a while now.”

you swear your heart stops beating and your brain explodes

HE? LIKES? U?????????

he continues, “i don’t know if you like me back, but i’ve been wanting to tell you this for so long–guess i didn’t have the courage until recently,” he lets out an airy laugh

you’re looking at him in the eyes now; a subtle shimmer of the afternoon sun sparkling in his eyes

“hyuck, i like you too. how could i possibly not?” you chuckle at his shocked expression

he goes :O

he’s genuinely speechless when you lean forward and press your lips ever so softly onto his

you literally feel him freeze, which worries you for a second, but your worry is washed away when he slowly kisses you back

you melt right then and there

he takes your hand in his, interlocking fingers, as you pull away, a faint pink blush painting both your cheeks

“wow”

“really, y/n? that’s all you have to say? what happened to being wisdom’s child, huh?”

“donghyuck, i SWEAR to ALL THE GODS–!”

your sentence is cut off when he presses his lips onto yours again, you smile into the kiss which causes him to smile with you

he kisses you again and again, and then again, until you’re both a giggling mess

“let’s stay like this forever, yeah? what do you say?” he says, bringing his lips to your forehead, lingering there for a moment before pulling back and looking at you

you look at your intertwined hands, and then back up at him, “i’d like that”

I had this AU Meg >:). It’s kinda sad but also not sad. Sorta.

I imagine MC as a violin player. I’ve played the violin in 6th grade and I still do, so I like to imagine my MC being a violin player. She started when she was young and her mother supported her all the way. She listened to when she sounded a bit bad, but ALWAYS cheered for her because she was proud at her for trying. Even if she was busy, she’d always come to the concerts that were thrown (concerts are sometimes thrown for Orchestra or Band or both at the same concert in school) and always clapped louder than anyone. Shes so proud of her. The only other person that would be clapping as loud as her mother would be

Alex.

I like to AU that Alex would always come. Josh would come almost everytime to, but Alex always came. They loved her (but didn’t know it yet) and the eyes she gave them when she asked them to go. They could tell she was so excited for every concert and always wanted their approval (I imagine her as in 13 when she started playing so she wanted people to be proud of her) and their support bc she loves them🥺. But yeah they go everytime and clap as loud as MCs mom. They’re proud of her too🥺.

Then, everytime the concert was over, MCs mom would give her a hug first and a BUNCH of kisses on the face (moms always do that don’t lie). Josh would give her a hug and ruffle her hair. Alex would give her a hug but then pull back and give a little pat on the head. She’d beam up at them and their heart did a big THUMP bc MC don’t give them too much attention right now they don’t know what’s going dnwndbw. This is why whenever they feel like it, they give her head pats >:).

But back into the AU, MC continued playing through high school but eventually stopped when she worked at H.E.R.A. . However, she still played when she had time or felt like it. She had a lot of comfort songs and slow songs that made her feel at peace. She loved them and loved listening to them (even if she wasn’t the one playing). So, when she’s at Alex’s apartment one day, when the whole Hera thing is going on, her anxiety is getting to her. She’s hurt, panicking, crying, she’s so scared. She looks in their closet to find their hoodie for comfort, but sees her violin.

She picks it up and is hit with a lot of memories. Many of them with her mom being proud of her (she always wants her mom to be proud of her) and everyone loving her music, even herself when she wasn’t doing too great. Her head was suddenly filled with all of the music she played, their melodies, tempos, notes, everything just filling up her head. She gets the violin out, rosins up the bow (it hasn’t been rosined in years poor bow ;-;), tunes the violin to the right pitches, and gets the music out (she found it near the violin case. It was basically overflown with music).

She finds a song she loved. It was the first hard song she ever played for her mom. It was actually a Greek song. She didn’t have the words for the song, but she had the melody and the notes and it was all she needed. She even saw the note letters written underneath each one. She wasn’t a fast reader of the notes, so she wrote the letters for them down and could automatically go to that finger and play it correctly. Totally not something I do this very day. She made a book stack and got the sheet of music to sit up so she could see it properly.

She begins the song and it’s all calm and quiet, the song beginning very soft. It’s a sad song and it sounds...vulnerable (if music could even sound like that). It sounds (to her) like a heart is in pain. It got louder and softer, then louder and softer again. She believes it sounds like a heart calling out for another. She plays barely a minute in, and she hears a voice behind her start singing in Greek. It’s her beloved Alex’s voice. It sounds as beautiful as it always does. She wants to turn around to face them, but she’d have to stop playing, so she keeps playing and listening to Alex’s soft voice. It gets softer and louder like the music does.

The song eventually becomes louder and it seems harsher, as if the heart is angry. Alex’s voice gets a little deeper as well, then soft once again. She didn’t understand what they were saying or what the song was about, but she didn’t care. It sounded beautiful and she loved it.

Once she finished playing, she put the violin down on the floor and turned around to see Alex smiling but also looking a bit sad.

Then reality came crashing back to MC. She was going to die and the gods were going to allow it to happen (well Hades and Aphrodite were doing a lot to try and stop it). It hurt her and the anxiety and sadness and fear came back to her. She knew humans died, everyone did, but did she want it to be this way? No. She thought that she’d die in old age with Alex by her side (looking young still) or surrounded by her family. But no. She was going to die surrounded by people she didn’t even know how to feel about. She was going to die in front of Alex and Gods that she considers family (Aphrodite and Hades).

As if Alex noticed this, they got on the bed (very quickly) and pointed towards her violin. She looked confused at them but they let out a little laugh. “Play me another song,” they told her. They saw how calm she felt when she was playing, her fingers moving skillfully across the strings and the different notes being played by her fingers so fast but then slow, her keeping tempo with just her softly counting under her breath, and her sometimes closing her eyes and still knowing how to play by her memory and being so great at it. They saw her passion in it and used it as a distraction.

She smiled as she knew their plan, but went with it. She pulled out another Greek song and began to play. The song was soft once again. However, there were no harsh parts, no fast parts, nothing that seemed angry. It didn’t feel sad either, it felt calm. Alex’s voice was calm and sounded angelic.

She loved it and loved the admiration and pride in Alex’s gaze when they sang. They loved her and she loved them.

So thatsss itttt. I play the violin and usually like to make my MCs share my qualities. I have ADD my MCs have ADD, I play the violin, my MCs play the violin, I cry and am very bad at my emotions, my MCs aRE THE SAMEEEE. But yh hope you liked this and its late I need to sleeep but probably won’t bc I like replies FKWNSNWB.

But one more thing, imagine Aphrodite going there. And Hades too🥺. They’re best friends so they hear MCs mom basically talk all the time about MC and her playing the violin and how she’s so proud of her daughter. Aphrodite and Hades both laugh and love how she’s so proud of her. Sometimes, if they weren’t busy, they’d come too and smile at her. MC would look into the crowd and see her mom and wave very excitedly. She’d notice Aphrodite and Hades and wave to them, but a little more shyer. They’d laugh and wave back as well. They did care for her (even if Hades isn’t as close to her as Aphrodite and Alex is but he does love her...not in that way but ya knOW WHAT I MEAN). MC remembers those times and really does love that they want and it’s why she appreciates Hades and Aphrodite so much.

They literally went to a 13 year olds violin concert even tho they’re gods and are surrounded by people that are lower than them (they don’t see it that way...Zeus and other gods is a different story) and they’re like “🥺😊”. They loved her and are proud of her too lol.

it’d certainly make an interesting backstory for adamora -

at a young age, adamora is torn between two worlds. the natural world of her grandmother demeter is illustrious and grand while the dark underworld of her parents, persephone and hades, is beautiful in its own richly dark way. yet a young adamora aspires to her grandmother’s example first and foremost - a successful business woman who is selfless enough to personally help out at homeless shelters, using her harvest powers for the greater good.

yet behind demeter’s polished exterior hides a furious matriarch worn down by a family that props itself upon traditional values as much as it struggles to display those values behind closed doors. as such, she does not respond in kind when adamora loses control of her powers and almost kills her grandmother when she drunkenly disparages persephone and hades. demeter calls upon persephone and hades to punish adamora accordingly otherwise she’ll utilise her influence to destroy all that adamora holds dear.

adamora disappears from the face of the earth, becoming nothing but a rumour whispered out of sight of demeter. adamora’s gifts cannot be denied though, and as such demeter loosens the chains that bind her granddaughter. soon demeter’s new charity ventures are fueled by auctions of the world’s most stunning gemstones and the matriarch becomes more and more careless with hiding her granddaughter’s powers.

word quickly gets around, and the lords of the cities’ underbelly seek out the source of demeter’s funding at any cost. the best in the superhero business are called upon to protect demeter’s mansion from any threat - crowd charmer captain quick and his team don formal wear to blend in with the socialites of demeter’s latest gem auction.

mercury isn’t one for upper class parties though, and he finds himself exploring the old mansion with all its winding passages and hidden secrets. after all, he needs to scout the place for security issues, right? it’s not long before he snoops into areas he shouldn’t, and his usage of his ultra security clearance card is liberal to say the least.

and you know the rest lol. dumb twunk finds pretty girl who crushes him against the wall w/ crystal bindings (he’s into it), obviously a hostage situation breaks out at demeter’s home auction and while his team clears out the would-be-attackers, merc flirts with adamora and tries to learn more about her powers. of course, those pesky hired guns interrupt that good adamerc time™ and merc runs with adamora in his arms while she clears out enemies and it’s cute n what not :^D

(sorry i ran out of steam there at the end lmao)

but ye… merc finally getting out of demeter’s goddamn maze of a house an finally seeing adamora in the moonlight. she’s weaved herself this stunning jewel dress, her eyes shine so beautifully with excitement and she fits so naturally in his arms… that’s my shit babey!

a tired erlang shen tells merc to put her down and to bring her to base to see if she’s okay. then we get that friends with romantic tension tending to each other’s wounds and talking even goddamn more about themselves and more soft flirting UGH… we had to stan

and merc helping adamora find herself through her superhero identity, adamora regaining her lost confidence and finding her inner strength through helping others and learning to better harness her powers, adamora getting majorly pissed and letting all hell loose when some villain kidnaps merc... this au keeps giving y’all!

general things i like

so much pining. all the pining. pining everywhere plz.

continuing from above, PINING. i mean it. i prefer a thousand times over idiots in love who are having a hard time wrapping their minds around it than an already established relationship.

either gen or romantic is fine! what really does it for me is the development of the relationship, platonic or otherwise. it’s all about the growing intimacy and understanding and character dynamics and interactions and developing trust and finding kinship and growing respect for the other and subconsciously learning to lean on the other over anyone else and--

i love love love enemies-to-reluctant-allies-(to-maybe-friends?)-to-lovers and bickering pairs in general! it’s so much fun and it gives us so many opportunities for character and relationship developments okay i’m a slut for that shit

sticking to the original characterizations and the tone of canon is a definite plus!!!

“missing scenes” and “what if” canon-divergent situations are excellent, as are continuations from where canon left us depending on the fandom! more details on the sections for the respective fandoms i GUESS

casual intimacy is super fun, especially when adapted to the character dynamics. a bickering pair being casually comfortable adds a whole new depth to it, enemy dynamics makes is hilarious since the other half would have zero clue as to how to react, a pair that is already comfortable with each other that they do stuff without communicating is so intimate, mix and match however you like!

fun tropes i enjoy (a bit romance-leaning but if you’re not into that then some of these can probably be adapted): fake dating, accidentally got roped into x and shenanigans of all sorts keep happening, misunderstood confessions, groundhog day au, one or both the characters having stupid levels of denial while technically in a relationship and just not realizing it like What Do You Mean We’re Dating??, that sorta thing.

general things i dislike

kidfics. babyfics. next gen fics. pregnancy fics, or even pregnancy discussed in the fic is a major squick of mine. the one exception i make for kidfics is for kids already existent in canon and even then it depends, but no babies or children otherwise please.

future fics/time skips in general, actually. what i enjoy is the relationship development, so huge time skips make me feel like we missed way too much

angst is... mrrmf. it really depends on how it’s done, but usually it feels like it’s angst for the sake of angst instead of giving the fic some actual meat.  as a result of this, i’d pass at least on most content with major character death, sexual abuse, self-harm, gender/sexuality angst, the like. beyond that, feel free to go ahead!

hard AUs are a bit ugh to me. by this i mean AUs that rely heavily on setting, such as high school AUs, harry potter AUs, that sort of thing. i DO however enjoy stuff like soulmate AUs and alternate canon AUs, depending on the concept and on the fandom. more details in their own sections if you enjoy writing those!

i heavily dislike things involving cheating/infidelity, sickfics, and genderbending of any kind is a bit ehhhh for me, as are concepts such as ABO. hard pass on stuff like dysphoria and deep diving into mental illnesses and disorders, too.

script-based or roleplay fic is not really my preferred format, i really enjoy prose instead of nearly all dialogue!

stuff with bigotry in general, racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, etc as well as discussions of it is a pass in general. it’s not a HUGE squick but i’d rather not see it if possible

discussions and thoughts on gender/sexuality. if you’re gonna make them gay/bi/etc, make them gay/bi/etc, no exploration of it added. delving into the psyche of it is a hard pass.

i am 100% aware this is a weird-ass pairing but gods, the possibilities. it has so much potential. there are few things i like quite as much as a villain and a good person developing a strange sort of kinship with each other >u> this doesn’t have to mean a romantic development, if it’s not your thing! as i said, for me it’s the building understanding and reluctant respect that i really love, far more than the actual romance.

ideas, ideas, ideas. i’m aware this is a rare relationship to either portray or ask for, so i’m gonna try to give some more concrete-ish ones for you to build up on if you have no clue as to how to approach this. 

we could have canonverse with charlotte dealing with the shadowman in some other, unrelated matter while the main plot is occurring, making him feel somewhat guilty about the whole marriage plot with laurence-turned-naveen. cue introspection, or even an entirely different outcome.

or a post-canon sort of hades&persephone plot (please no actual hades and persephone au though), with charlotte curious despite herself and tempted to listen to a shadow/dead/whatever!dr facilier when she’s the only one that can hear him.

in a continuation from above, OR her being dragged Beneath with him in a freak accident and then charming him into helping her back to the surface/living world (very, veeeeery reluctantly on his part, at least at the start, he might have even be thinking of tricking her but then change his mind when the time comes to do it).

i think dr facilier wouldn’t be sure how to deal with charlotte’s particular brand of personality and good humour, and it’d throw him off his rhythm a lot - that sort of thing is always super fun to write.

soulmate au in canon would work pretty well, but with this pairing? you could even do a FULL AU, keeping only basic stuff like the shadowman thing to her normal bougie self; it’s one of her charms. (and their personalities, of course). stuff like charlotte thinking that she wants one thing (her prince-slash-one-true-love, etc) while keeping getting drawn to him time and time again could work on pretty much any era or setting. vice-versa for him, thinking he wants to be rid of her but coming to realize he’d actually miss her if she were to be gone. OR, charlotte deciding she wants this sullen manipulative bastard and manipulating HIM into taking her out and hanging out with her would be hilarious.

if you wanna do nsfw, i have only one major request: charlotte calling the shots/topping. i think this arrangement would be in character for both of them (dr facilier would prob also enjoy having someone else do all the work lol) considering her go-getter attitude, but keeping in mind his manipulative personality i’d be more comfortable if she had some control over what was happening. ASIDE FROM THAT, d’you know what would be fun? a little darkness, and by that i mean consider dr facilier’s shadow joining in on the fun. shadows would also be an interesting sort of constraint. also i know i said charlotte calling the shots, but she can be constrained by the shadows while being amused by it or being used to it (implying it’s not the first time that they’ve used it in bed play and that it’s therefore negotiated), or charlotte could team up with the shadow to do it to facilier instead. charlotte using her nails and facilier being a bit of a sub/masochist would be excellent!

(actually in general it’d be really fun if there was some complicity between charlotte and facilier’s shadow in general, nsfw or otherwise. the shadow being wrapped around her little finger is an excellent concept, especially if facilier isn’t too fond of her just yet OwO)

THE ADDAMS FAMILY

oh boy. let me just begin by saying that this really isn’t my usual kind of pairing, by sheer virtue of them being perfectly happy and established in canon. HOWEVER, they’re goth and they’re odd and they’re kinky and they’re delightful to watch interact (i’m familiar with the movie canon featuring anjelica and raúl and a few (few!) of the comics, so idk about other dynamics) and so they’ve managed to creep their way into my blackened little heart.

THAT BEING SAID, my absolute biggest wish for this fandom would be pre-relationship. i don’t mind if canon is twisted a bit for this, considering that they presumably met and proposed on the very same day, so it’s definitely a bit hard to work with. perhaps some shenanigans with the funeral itself? or gomez has a date/fiancée already and so there’s some juggling of priorities here while he’s absolutely falling over himself in order to continue looking at that gothic vision of a woman? or an old family feud, or them just being downright useless at knowing how to deal with proper romance (on morticia’s side, i’d imagine she’d only grow more stoic and be at a loss of what to say. on gomez’s side, it’s probably his first time being speechless, or he’s not speechless but he’s flirted so much in his life that he doesn’t know what to do with these actual literal feelings, what the hell is this and how does he show he actually means it this time??), or morticia has a long string of dead fiancés black widow-style (i think she and debbie would have gotten along great if given the chance okay), or a soulmate au where they don’t realize it’s each other right away, or morticia amusedly pretends to be dating gomez before they know each other to get him out of a bind, or they’re somehow roped into someone else’s shenanigans and don’t know how to react to each other (my money is on either ophelia or cousin itt putting them in a bind), the sky is the limit!

if you’re more comfortable writing established, however, casual intimacy or smut are the best! give me a moment of respite where they are just comfortable basking in each other’s presence, or when they’re separated for a moment at an event or something and the longing is burning all the way across them until they come back together again (y’know, in the good old way of the script). for smut, morticia being a mostly stoic dom maybe? (though yes, i know she’s very much into being tied up and tortured, i can’t really see her as a normal sub unless it’s really something languid and drawn-out - she doesn’t really read as someone who spends a lot of energy doing things others will do for her). they’re both definitely into pain and bondage too; morticia conflating arousal with hunger would also be really interesting to see (think praying mantis or lady spider who is actually very invested on not taking off her partner’s head, but who dreams of it all the same. gomez is, of course, very much into it). something lowkey macabre would be amazing.

things i’d like to see for this fandom in general are:

morticia being her stoic vampiric goddess of a self

gomez being completely twitterpatted for her as usual

burning sultry glares/staring across the room

overly passionate hand-kissing

creepy/gothic atmosphere

you know, like canon. (with non-existent or minimal kid existence, though)

references to horror stuff/general creepiness like sudden lightning, casual poisonings and dealings with death, dracula references, etc, like the movies would be super fun, as campy as possible! half the greatness of the movies come from these imho

MONSTROUS REGIMENT

i have a confession to make: it’s been a while since i last read it, and so i fear i won’t be as helpful in giving ideas/dynamics for this fandom as i was in the others. 

i have one request - apart from what i’ve already rambled on about above - and that is for at least polly to be portrayed as female (or close enough, although not quite non-binary). to make it clearer: i usually see them both as female, even if not female-presenting (it’s funny because as i was writing this i actually kept writing about maladict as “he” so frankly it’s whatever, i definitely prefer “maladict” to “maladicta” at least in terms of names though) but chaffing to fit the roles that “female” comes along with, especially with maladict and the expectations for female vampires. i’d rather the fic not have gender or sexuality exploration, since like i said above i think it detracts from the meat of the stuff - if you want to see maladict as male, write him male with male pronouns (keeping the female vampire backstory if you’re keeping it canon, otherwise it wouldn’t really make sense). if you want to make her female, write her female with female pronouns. i’d pass on they/them pronouns though. i don’t particularly care either way outside of polly however, just don’t delve into the psyche/introspection of it please.

if you have different views on their genders and it would make you uncomfortable to write female polly or non-they/them maladict, then that’s fine with me as well! these are just my preferences, and i thought i’d elaborate on them since the fandom has many perspectives on this topic. 

with that out of the way, on to more interesting stuff!

what’s good: their interactions. oh dear loki, their interactions. they have my favourite dynamic in the whole book, and they’re weirdly comfortable with each other (especially since polly lowkey threatens maladict after kicking the other dude in the nads, in my view that moment probably got his undead little heart skipping a beat (do vampires have beating hearts on discworld? i haven’t read enough discworld to remember this)) and they understand each other the best out of the rest of the squad. maladict teasing polly and pretending to be cool before polly catches on to him is absolutely hilarious, and i absolutely love maladict trying (and failing!! horribly!!) at being smooth. also polly blackmailing people left and right is absolutely fantastic.

as you can probably guess, i’d love some canon-verse interactions. perhaps alternate scenes or what-ifs of canon events, or even extra scenes during the ongoing plot of the book. OR, post-book, once they have their own squad of little lads and have to figure out how the hell to handle that, or shenanigans where they have some sort of mission or official event elsewhere and resolutely stick together because “if i have to deal with this then so do you”. or some hilarity with maladict desperately going after every coffee grain available so he doesn’t just bury his face on polly’s neck because she smells so good but that would be an awkward conversation to have and he’d rather die (again) than admit to that. 

what else? AUs! feel free to completely tear apart the canon discworld, though i’d request polly remain her ass-kicking clever self and maladict an awkward vampire. maybe maladict has to deal with diaphanous underwired nightgowns. maybe polly has to deal with diaphanous underwired nightgowns. vampire politics? satirical awkward dracula au? maladict failing horribly at being a vampire (failing at being a female vampire or trying to pass at being a male vampire and failing at that, too)? they’re all great! 

what matters to me is their banter and the way they keep falling into pace with each other, regardless of the way they begin. a good dose of sardonical pratchett-style humour would also be welcome ;)

Tips On How To Write Undead/Zombie Creatures (For both fanfic writers and original content writers)

This is for @angels-of-hades, who sent me an ask about this, and I decided that it would be great for another of my iconic Long Posts. (See my post about winged characters here and my post about shape-shifters here)

The undead are an incredibly common trope in modern fiction.

From “The Walking Dead”, to “iZombie”, to “Z-Nation”, to a ton of others, the undead seem to have infatuated television writers.

It’s not just television, though- the zombie craze has now spread to literature, too, if Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, Warm Bodies, and World War Z have anything to show for it.

And now it has spread to fanfiction. I can’t even count how many Zombie Apocalypse AUs and Walking Dead fusions I’ve seen popping up in the feed of multiple fandoms,

Therefore, I’ve decided to make a post on writing zombielike creatures, which you should probably read before you begin that apocalypse AU you’ve been obsessing over.

1. Decide how the virus spreads- make a checklist and take everything into account as you analyze all of the facts.

Okay, you don’t have to make an actual checklist. Just something in your head.

Think of all the ways that the virus can spread, the most common way being a mixing of bodily fluids (a bite from an infected person).

This can also mean blood-to-blood contact with a victim also causes the virus to spread, and A LOT of television shows just gloss this over: WHAT ABOUT MOSQUITOES???

Take The Walking Dead as an example:

They’re in the south for a majority of the time; It’s hot.

Mosquitoes must be breeding like crazy.

I understand why a mosquito wouldn’t bite a zombie during the later stages as the corpse decays and becomes more cadaver-like, but during the first few weeks? When the blood was still fresh and the people were still kinda sorta alive???

Mosquitoes would totally be a spreading factor for the virus- sucking the blood from a zombie and then biting a healthy human, thus infecting them- and everyone would be dead.

That’s an example of poor planning- The Walking Dead writers didn’t specify enough and hinted at the virus being spread through blood-to-blood contact, and that leaves a gigantic gap in information.

Here are some limits/rules/whatever that you can set for your virus:

- It can only be spread through a bite (you have to specifically state a bite, because that means that it’s in the saliva)

-It can only be spread through gene alteration

-It’s a parasite and the parasite actually has to be inside of the host for it to infect them

-The virus cannot survive in certain temperatures/climates

These are only a few, so feel free to add more!

2. Make your zombies unique

Like I said above, there are a LOT of zombie stories. Like, a lot.

You need to make a part of your zombies different from the rest, so that your potential readers are compelled to pick up the book because wOW LOOK THERE’S A TWIST.

Whether it be zombie animals or zombies that are incredibly intelligent, you have to make sure that these creatures pop out because otherwise they’ll be lost in the fray of post-apocalyptic, gunslinging nonsense.

(JUST A NOTE THAT IT IS COMPLETELY FINE TO KEEP THE OLD VANILLA ZOMBIES. IF YOUR PLOT IS OUTSTANDING, NOBODY WILL CARE THAT THEY’VE READ ABOUT THESE KINDS OF ZOMBIES 1000000 TIMES BEFORE)

Here are some common tropes that are usually associated with zombies that you can change up a bit if you want:

-Slow (walk/shuffle/etc.)

-Can’t communicate (aside from groaning)

-Dumb

-There are a lot of them, usually outnumbering the protagonist and their gang

-Are human corpses

-Result from a viral outbreak

-Do not remember their former selves

-Can only be killed a certain way (shot in the head/head cut off/something with the head/whatever.)

3. Just because you have zombies doesn’t mean you can’t have a plot, too!

^^^^My reaction when I read/watch something and there’s no plot except coME ON LET’S FIGHT TEH ZOMBIES

A lot- and I mean A LOT- of amateur writers think “Ok, so if I have zombies in the story, I need no other conflict except them fighting zombies. I mean, that’s a good enough conflict, right?”

*buzzer noise* WRONG

Yes, I understand that technically (technically) zombies are a conflict. I mean, they’re undead people, right? 

But if your entire story is just hacking and chopping away at a ton of corpses, it ain;t gonna be interesting, at least not to me.

What would The Walking Dead be like without Shane? The Governor? Terminus? Negan and the Saviors?

The reason why The Walking Dead is so popular is because it shows an overarching plotline, with zombies- oh, I’m sorry, “walkers”- just being problems in between. Yes, maybe in the first season it was mostly about escaping the herd, but the rest is about tons of other things, and zombies are just the antagonists that make the protagonists’ lives harder while they’re trying to deal with other things.

You should really follow this example because if the only thing you can say about the main conflict in your story is “there’s zombies“ then you really need to rethink what you’re writing.

Some main goals/conflicts/overarching plotlines that you can choose from:

-Stopping the person who spread/is spreading the virus

-Find the antidote

-Struggle for survival against other humans

-Struggle for resources

-Going to a certain place where there’s supposedly no zombies

-Finding people the protagonist has been separated from

-Plus much more

"Our kids got paired up to do a school project and I meant to just drop mine off at your house but we ended up talking for three hours AU."

"Adrianna, wait up!" Leah called after the young girl running ahead of her. "There's no need to rush."

"You said to get there on time," Adrianna pointed out. But she did slow her pace.

"Yeah, but your friend's place isn't that far... His name's Icarus, right?"

"Right."

“That’s an... interesting name.”

"Yeah, I like it. Oh, we need to turn here.”

Leah looked at the map on her phone. "Really? But--"

"It's a short-cut, remember?" She tugged on Leah's hand.

"How do you know?"

Adrianna rolled her eyes. "From when I went over to Icky's before?"

"Oh yeah. I remember now!" Leah said a bit too brightly as she followed her cousin's lead.

"Who's the grown-up here again?"

She gasped theatrically. "Rude! Maybe I'll just eat your dessert after dinner tonight, young lady."

Adrianna finally cracked a grin. "It's okay. His dad lets us eat whatever we want when I come over."

"Wait, really?"

"Yeah, but his grandpa's a health-nut so it works out."

"That guy with the pink hair?" Leah recalled the serious-faced man who was way too hot--er, that is, too young to be taken for a grandfather who'd greeted her at the door the last time she'd dropped Adrianna off to play.

"We're here." Adrianna pointed at an apartment just up ahead. "You didn't lose anything, right?"

Leah hefted up the tote bag she'd been carrying. "Nope! Everything you need for your homework project is safe and sound, Milady!"

The girl giggled. "I could get used to that."

"Don't count on it, Rhianna."

"Ugh, you know I hate being called that!"

"It's one of my few weapons against that sass of yours. Go ring the doorbell."

Adrianna made a face, but trotted up the steps and reached up to press the button by the door. A faint chiming sound could be heard from inside, followed by a cheerful voice: "Coming!"

The door swung open to reveal a man with thick, wavy brown hair. "Hey there! Icarus?" He called over his shoulder. "Your friend's here, bud."

A boy around Adrianna's age skipped out from behind the man, a bright grin on his face. "Hi, Adrianna!"

"Hi." She smiled back, then sent a questioning glance back at Leah.

"You'll need this," Leah said, stepping up to hand over the bag. "I'll be back in a couple of hours, okay?"

"Okay, thanks."

"Don't forget to text or call if you need anything."

"Okay."

"You did charge your phone, right?"

"Yeah."

"Good. I've got my ringer turned up, so I'll answer right awa--"

Adrianna sighed, but there was no spite in it. "I'll be fine, Mom. Really."

Leah put her hands up in mock-surrender. "Hey, it's my job to be overprotective."

Icarus and Adrianna went into an adjacent room, with the boy chattering happily about the model he'd started making for their project.

The man held out his hand to Leah. "Don't think we've met before; I wasn't home the last time Adrianna was here, right? I'm Cerberus! I'm Icarus'... I guess you could say his guardian."

"I'm Leah." She shook his hand, smiling back. "It's the same with me and Adrianna. Sort of."

"Really?" He nodded as if a great wisdom had been revealed to him. "Yeah, I guess you're a little young to be her mom... Uh, no offense!"

"None taken. We're actually cousins. Her parents are overseas right now, so I'm looking after her."

"Oh, nice! Adrianna's a cool kid. Icarus is kinda shy, so I'm glad he made a new friend."

"Shy?" She thought of the boy talking excitedly about cardboard castles a mile a minute.

"Well, not once he warms up to you!" Cerberus laughed. "But... well, he was kind of in a rough situation before he came to stay with me."

Leah nodded sympathetically, knowing better than to pry. Her gaze fell on a set of guitars nearby; one was smaller than the other. "Do you play?"

"Oh, yeah! I'm teaching Icarus right now, actually. He's really got a knack for it." His chest practically puffed up with pride.

Leah couldn't help grinning. "I tried teaching Adrianna piano, but she just wasn't interested. She wants to learn to bake, but that's not exactly my forte; fortunately, there's Youtube tutorials."

"Baking? Man, you're lucky. I mean, you can't exactly eat the tabs for 'Stairway to Heaven.'"

She laughed. "Yeah, she's picking up stuff really fast. I bet she'll be making stuff for Icarus and their classmates soon."

"Haha, bet he'll love that! The kid has a sweet-tooth like you wouldn't believe..."

They continued to chat, eventually moving into the small kitchen for some coffee. Cerberus was friendly, funny, and easy to talk to; it helped that he wasn't exactly hard on the eyes. Leah lost track of how much time passed as she and Cerberus continued to swap affectionate stories about their respective young charges, until finally...

"Hi, Leah." Adrianna and Icarus wandered into the kitchen. "You're here already?"

"Uh... oh! Wow, is it that late already?" Leah laughed sheepishly. "Actually, I've been here the whole time."

"Really?" Icarus grinned widely. "Oooh, Ceeerrrbb! D'ya liiiike--"

"Hey, hey!" Cerberus grabbed the boy in a gentle headlock. "You still want pizza for dinner, or what?"

"Yeah!" The boy cheered.

"Then help me make it. Go on and get the toppings out."

He gave Icarus a good-natured shove, and he hurried over to the fridge.

"You make your own pizza?" Adrianna asked, obviously interested.

"Grandpa Hades says it's better for you than the frozen kind," Icarus piped up.

"Can I help?" Adrianna asked eagerly.

"It's already getting late, dear," Leah said. "We should get out of their hair."

"Awwww," Icarus pouted.

Cerberus laughed. "Hey, we have enough to make extra! If you want to stay for dinner, you're more than welcome. Right, bud?"

Icarus nodded so hard Leah thought his head might fly off.

"Well..." She looked at Adrianna's beseeching face. "If you're sure we won't be bothering you..."

"The more the merrier!" Cerberus waved Adrianna over. "You ever rolled out dough before?"

It was quite literally the best pizza Leah had ever had. Adrianna stood in the front entryway, proudly clutching a tupperware container with the remainder of the pizza she'd made (mostly) by herself.

"Thank you so much for dinner. We had a great time," Leah said to Cerb.

"No sweat. It was fun for us too, right, buddy?"

"Yeah!" Icarus' smile was so bright Leah almost felt blinded.

"We'll get the tupperware back to you soon."

"Take your time. And hey, always more where that came from."

Cerberus and Icarus waved them off, and Adrianna grinned slyly up at Leah when the two finally closed the apartment door.

"Sooo... gonna go back for seconds?"

Leah choked. "What?!"

"Admit it, you thought he was cute~" The girl sing-songed.

"What I think is you're a brat," her cousin muttered, smacking her lightly over the head.

"But this brat is right." Adrianna skipped just out of reach. "You can 'help' me give the tupperware back next time. I don't mind~"

"I also think I'll eat your dessert after all."

"Tough crowd."

OKAY BEFORE WE GET TO THE SAPNAP STUFF, I GOTTA GIVE YOU SOME CONTEXT

So in the universe where most of my AUs take place, every human has magical powers. Now, these powers aren’t very strong at all, even though they used to be. They’re only useful for enchanting weapons and that kinda stuff.

However, there are people called Mages. Mages are humans born with augmented levels of magic in their blood. They’re able to actually harness the magic in their blood and use it for things aside from just enchantments. (And they usually make jobs out of this). There are two types of Mages; specified Mages and non-specified Mages. For specified Mages, think earth bender, fire bender, etc... Non-specified Mages are more like Harry Potter in the sense that they can do all sorts of magic. Specified Mages are rarer because they have to be born in certain environments/places to get their specified magic.

Like Sapnap. Sapnap is a fire Mage. He was born in the Nether.

Here are my headcanon’s about him

-Mans is a portable heater. Someone tells him they’re cold and he’ll just *hug* and warm them up. (Karl and Quackity snuggle up to him a lot. They love their space heater fiancé)

-LOVES the Nether. He needs to be around fire for his magic to be really powerful and to recharge, so the Nether is like his home turf. (he was also born there, so pog)

-No, he will not cook your food for you.

-Maybe he can like, communicate with blazes?? Cuz they’re fire monsters, and he’s got fire in his blood. So maybe there’s a way they can communicate, idk.

-I don’t even need to put this here cuz it’s common knowledge but. Sapnap’s not technically a pyromaniac (because it’s not impulse) or an arsonist (because he doesn’t always have malicious intent) but like, something like that. He can control it most of the time, but sometimes it’s him just giving into the desire to see fire. I don’t like to mislabel him anything, but the closest thing I could find to fit this would be ‘pyromaniac’ (but I don’t include all aspects of it).

-All of his blankets/clothes have hand-stitched fire resistant enchantments in them so he doesn’t have to worry about burning them.

-He’s, of course, fire resistant. But he’s not lava resistant. He can tolerate it for a long time, yes, but it can eventually burn and kill him if he’s not careful.

-Hot

-Sleeps in active fireplaces sometimes :]

-Maybe does that thing like Toothless does in HTTYD where, if he’s outdoors, he’ll burn a patch in the grass so it’s warm for him to sleep.

-He’s built for warm climates (cold blooded basically) so he fucking hates the snow. Mostly because it looks pretty but it’s deceptive and cold.

-Do you think he’d have a snake tongue and night vision cuz he’s cold blooded and sorta built like a lizard

-If I do decide Mages have markings on them so you know they’re Mages, I’d think Sapnap might have like, ashy freckles or something?

-When he goes in full magic mode, his skin turns yellow-white and is hot enough to melt metal. You can literally see het radiating off of him. His hair bursts into flames and his fingers turn a bit clawed and his hands turn black a bit. His eyes might also go white or at least have fire in them.

-Does the Hades thing where his hair bursts into flames when he’s angry.

-Like above, but his hair bursts into pink flames when he’s really flustered.

-A little party trick is him making the flame on his shirt turn into an actual small flame.

-Sneezes and coughs out sparks. (”No– Sapnap– Sapnap I swear to– Cover your mouth! Oh god the blanket–”)

I just think he’s neat :]
