what are your thoughts about the fatphobic comments hoshi has made towards his own members. i am asking this as a genuine question but no hoshi fan whatever you guys are called wants to give me an answer lol
ok so i have been pretty offline and not keeping up w a lot of svt content so this conversation completely missed my radar ! i assume ur talking about this video since thats what ive seen recent conversation abt when i went looking.
- i do want to clarify i am not someone who has had to deal with fatphobia, so my word should not hold as much weight as those who have, and it should be important to uplift the voices of those most impacted by such comments.
we see comments like this often in kpop. an idol’s life revolves around being skinny and packaged of that perfect doll (and only a skinny one!), and the culture in korea (and east asia as a whole) further enforces that. however ! having HAD to deal with such pressure to be skinny they know very well how uncomfortable comments about your weight to be, no matter how joking in tone. in the video hoshi first makes a very unnecessary comment abt seungkwan being a “pig” - perhaps to make light of how peder had been commenting on how little seungkwan was eating - and no matter how the language difference affects the meaning of pig in korean, seungkwan very clearly expresses his displeasure with this comment (tho definitely exaggerated for the cameras). kwan has been dealing with comments like these for years and we have seen how painfully its affected his self esteem and body image, and the members know this. hoshi should definitely know better! right after the video cuts to when peder accidentally says boohae and the rest of bss joke to try and explain the meaning of the word thru their language difference. this also reads like theyre trying to make light of the situation, but dk telling peder to call seungkwan boohae again after theyd cleared up the misunderstanding is DEFINITELY crossing a line and i think thats the part i take most issue with, personally. these clips mostly seem to be the results of some poor taste in jokes taken too far.
ultimately, this is an issue seungkwan needs to clear up with his members, if it really is an issue. theyve known each other for (more than) a decade, so they can (and have) set boundaries about what to joke about and what not to - i’d be surprised if they hadnt already set boundaries abt this topic, but its not my place to pry into their personal lives and relationships with each other, nor it is my place to decide what they should do about this matter! there have been repeated offenses of fatphobic comments by various seventeen members so i do think it is very important that we talk with them about the harm these comments can cause, both to the people listening and the people they are talking about.
you are going to run into fatphobia in kpop spaces. from idols (both about themselves and the people around them), their companies, and from fans. but it really shouldnt be like that! it really shouldnt. this is a topic we do have to approach with nuance, considering both cultural and language differences, as well as the working conditions of an idol, but we cant simply excuse these comments because of that. idols should know better, and if they dont, we have the power to let them know that!
i hope we can continue to foster productive conversations about these issues and include idols in these conversations. i do firmly believe people are allowed to make mistakes and learn from them; we just have to make sure we are giving idols the opportunity to learn, and educate themselves, after making these comments. as fans, we are the people powering and funding this whole industry, and we do have power from this! i know its possible to make kpop a better space. it just takes time and a group effort. i have seen a lot of people write off serious, important criticism of groups as simply “hate” - which ultimately trivializes the whole issue and doing so does not accomplish anything. dogpiling on someone for a mistake can also make them feel attacked and adverse to changing if its not handled with enough tact. fandom spaces as a whole need to develop the skill of being able to seriously face topics that need addressing and learning how to then work together to solve/better these problems. the original(?) account i saw that posted the clips this month, a year after the videos posting, did have a history of posting derogatory tweets about hoshi, but that does not make the issue of fatphobia and body shaming among seventeen & kpop as a whole any less real, or any less in need of addressing. And scene
#okay this got really long and i was trying to write this in a Loud Room so i do not think i accomplished the level of articulation i had#hoped to achieve but i hope this answers your question nonny ! thank u for bringing this to my attention#anon tag 🌟#if anyone has some better organized thoughts about this i would love to hear them 👍❣️

the nurse doesn't even get a full sentence out before you hear it—the loud, unmistakable, drawn out moan from behind the curtain.
"uuuuuuughghhghhhhhh."
you blink.
"that yours?" she asks, arching an eyebrow, holding back a smile.
you sigh. "unfortunately, yes."
she laughs softly and pulls the curtain back.
and there he is.
gojo satoru, the strongest sorcerer alive, your very dramatic boyfriend, currently conked out in the reclining recovery chair like a ragdoll someone left in the sun for too long. his blindfold is gone (carefully folded on the side table, somehow), his mouth is half open, one of his arms is hanging off the chair like he's mid-shakespearean death scene and one leg is swinging mindlessly like he's in the middle of an interpretive dance.
"ughhhhhhhhhh," he groans again, eyes fluttering, unfocused. "where am i. is this the void? the infinite void? am i in the purgatory between dimensions?"
"you had a wisdom tooth removed," you say, walking up to him with your arms crossed.
satoru's head rolls toward the sound of your voice. it takes him a solid five seconds to gain his bearings and settle his gaze on you.
and then—his whole body jerks.
"oh my god," he gasps, pointing a floppy, trembling finger at you. "you're the taco bell goddess."
you blink again, taken aback. the anesthesia is really doing a number on him. it's entertaining. "i'm sorry, what now?"
"i knew you were real," he whispers reverently, nodding to himself. "you came to me in a dream once. you had like, this glowing chalupa aura and you whispered 'live mas' into my soul."
you stare. "what—what the hell are you talking about?"
"don't play coy, my divine temptress of the drive-thru," he says, hand clutching his chest like he's about to write an epic soliloquy in your name. "you bring hot sauce and justice to this cruel, flavorless world."
"okay," you say slowly, looking around for the nurse, "how much anesthesia did they give you?"
"enough to see the truth," he says dramatically.
you laugh so hard you have to grab the side of his chair for support.
satoru squints at you. "wait—wait, no. are you—are you even the taco bell goddess? or are you some kind of fraud, preying on innocent taco followers?"
"i'm your girlfriend," you reply, still wheezing. "you live with me."
his sky blue eyes go comically wide. "you mean i bagged the taco bell goddess and i live with her?"
you pinch the bridge of your nose to calm yourself. "you need water and maybe an exorcism."
he doesn't hear you. of course he doesn't. he's busy throwing up both hands like he's just won an oscar.
"somebody better put me in a commercial," he says proudly. "'cause i'm livin' mas, baby."
you're practically crying with laughter now, and you don't seem to be stopping soon.
"you're a disaster," you choke out.
he grabs your hand and holds it reverently. "disaster, or super cool legend?"
you lean in and kiss his forehead, lips twitching. "definitely a disaster."
satoru beams. "you kissed me! i'm telling everyone. you kissed me first. that's legally binding."
"we've been dating for two years."
"two years?!" his jaw drops. "that's like—" he counts on his fingers "—more than ten kisses!"
you have to bite your lip before you start cracking up again. then, his eyes impossibly wide, he pats around on his lap like he's looking for something. "where's my phone. i gotta tweet this."
"you're not tweeting while high."
"but the world needs to know i'm in love with a celestial being."
"absolutely not."
"okay, but hear me out," he says, slumping deeper into the chair with a dopey grin. "what if we got married. right now. here. in the dentist's office. we've got witnesses. we've got—" he frowns at the table next to him "—fluoride."
you're really trying your best to not lose it. "you want to get married surrounded by cotton swabs and expired magazines?"
he reaches for your face with both hands like he's about to cradle something precious. except one hand flops uselessly against your cheek.
"you're all i need," he slurs.
you smile, warmth creeping up your neck. "oh my god."
"wait, wait. do i have a ring?" he pats his pockets in slow motion. "we can use a paperclip. i'll macgyver it."
"i'm confiscating your paperclips."
he groans. "you never let me have any fun."
you take his hand, kiss the knuckles. "oh, toru. you're a full-time menace, so i have to be the responsible one."
his eyes flutter, a soft, sleepy smile on his lips now. "but you love me."
you sigh, brushing his hair back gently. "i do. against my better judgement."
he grins. "ha. got 'em."
you let your forehead rest against his.
the strongest sorcerer alive. in love. loopy. wearing a bib that says 'tooth be told' with a cartoon molar giving a thumbs-up.
and somehow, impossibly, still the love of your life.
you whisper, "when you're coherent again, i'm going to tell you everything you said. never letting you live this down."
his eyes crack open. "noooo."
"yes."
"i'll sue."
"i dare you."
and he giggles. giggles. like a chaotic little gremlin in your arms.
you hold him close, his fingers twined in yours, as the strongest sorcerer in the world melts into a puddle of affectionate nonsense on anesthetic. and you think, grinning—
god, i love this ridiculous man.

GAME NIGHT, RUINED
18+ MDNI
pairing: aaron hotchner x reader (was supposed to be nanny!reader but lit rally no mentions of her being a nanny LOL) summary: one question you refuse to answer gives you the best sex of your life. warnings | an: p in v sex, choking, one bite, fingering, oral (f receiving), praise kink?? hotch profiling reader and its so sexy i want to kith him on the mouth, there is aftercare i just didn’t write it, oopsies, established relationship word count: 2.9k
✧ masterlist
In all fairness, you hadn't actually read the rules of the game before suggesting it tonight. But maybe Penelope had – and maybe that's exactly why she'd wrapped it in floral paper with a gingham ribbon, like it was some sweet little gift and not a trap in disguise.
Because now here you were, cheeks warm, pulse ticking too fast, staring down a question that made your soul want to leave your body.
Okay, maybe it wasn't that bad.
You liked being manhandled. Liked a little choking – nothing too wild, just enough to feel it. Worst things have happened. Honestly, it wasn't even that big a deal.
Until you looked up... and saw Aaron’s eyes on you.
You swallowed, looking back down at the card again just as a breathless little laugh slipped out.
Name a turn-on your partner doesn’t know about but should.
“Pretty sure we’ve already had this one,” you said, maybe a little too brightly, as you tucked the card neatly under the deck like it was nothing. “Next!”
You barely brushed the edge of a new card before Aaron’s hand closed over the stack, pulling it right out of reach.
“Oh, are we done playing?” you asked innocently, sitting up a little straighter as your hands slid to your thighs. “Good idea.” You were on your feet now. “Pretty sure there’s a pile of laundry upstairs with my name on it –”
“Sit.”
Your hands hovered for a second before landing on your hips, a half-formed protest catching in your throat, but you obeyed, lowering yourself back down onto the couch, trying to act unbothered. Trying to ignore the way your heart had picked up speed.
“We haven’t been playing this game long enough to get the same card twice,” he said calmly, a small smile tugging at one corner of his mouth.
“Really? Huh. Could’ve sworn we already had that one.”
He arched a brow. “What was it?”
“Aaron come on,” you deflected, waving a hand like it didn’t matter. “It was something silly.”
He didn’t say anything, just flipped the deck over in his hand, eyes scanning the top card.
“Name a turn-on your partner doesn’t know about but should,” he read aloud. “Hm. Definitely don’t recall hearing your answer to this.”
“You don’t?” you said weakly.
“Just because you keep repeating everything I say doesn’t mean you’re going to get out of answering.”
You opened your mouth, then closed it again.
“You begged to play this game,” he continued calmly. “And now you’re skipping cards?” He gave you a dry look. “That hardly seems fair.”
You let out a quiet huff and leaned back into the couch, suddenly very interested in the ceiling. Your heart was beating faster than it should’ve been. Not because you didn’t trust him – you did. Completely. You knew he’d never shame you or make you feel small for wanting something.
But he’d also seen the worst of humanity. He’d spent his career staring into the darkest corners of people’s minds. You weren’t sure how he’d feel knowing his girlfriend got turned on by things like rough hands. The feeling of being pinned down and utterly helpless, even when she wasn’t.
It sounded a lot messier out loud than it did in your head.
“I just…” You hesitated. “It’s not a big deal. It’s probably not even your thing.”
“Well, if you’re unhappy in that department, I’d absolutely like to know what it is.”
“Oh my God – no, no. Not at all. I’m not – unhappy.” Your voice pitched as high as your hands flew up in protest, and now you were spiralling. “I’m very happy. I’m, like, obscenely happy. I think your ability to give me more orgasms in one night than I’ve had in my entire life before meeting you should be studied. Or patented. Or possibly banned in several states –”
He blinked once. Then bit back a smile.
You groaned and buried your face in your hands. “I hate you.”
“You love me.”
“I do, unfortunately,” you muttered into your palms.
“Then tell me,” he said, voice dipping just a little. “Or am I going to have to profile it out of you?”
You peeked out from between your fingers. “You wouldn’t.”
He gave a mild shrug. “You’re not exactly subtle.”
Your heart thudded.
“You get flustered when you lose control of the conversation. Especially with me. You fidget more. You avoid eye contact like you’re doing right now.”
You shifted almost immediately.
“You like routine and structure. You’re organised to a fault, but the second I step into your space and do something unexpected, you melt.” He tilted his head. “You act like it annoys you, but I’ve watched you for long enough to know it doesn’t. When I back you against the counter. When I pull your hair back mid-sentence just to kiss your neck. When I don’t ask and take instead. You don’t stop me, you lean into it.”
Your mouth went dry.
“You like being told what to do,” he said simply. Like it was a fact. Like it was always obvious. “In little ways. Safe ways. And when you’re overwhelmed, your instinct isn’t to push back, it’s to submit.”
He watched as your throat worked around a hard swallow.
“You like it when I’m in control.”
Your legs pressed together tight. Too late to pretend it hadn’t happened.
He smiled. “You throw around sarcasm, roll yours eyes, push back, pretend to fuss when I get bossy. But the second I tell you what to do – really tell you – you listen.”
You stared at him, cheeks flushed, lips parted.
“And the truth is, you don’t want to say it out loud because you think it’ll sound messed up. But it doesn’t.” He paused for a second. “I understand you and I’m not judging you. I want to give you what you need.”
Another moment of silence passed before he added, “But if you keep pressing your thighs together like that, I’m going to start thinking we’re done playing this game.”
You let a breath out before speaking. “I…I think we’re done playing,” you managed, voice hoarse.
“Yeah? You sure?”
You nodded before your brain could catch up. “Yes.”
“Then get upstairs.”
You rose on shaky legs and turned towards the stairs, amazed you didn’t trip over yourself on the way up. You could hear him following behind unhurried, while your vision nearly swam from what he’d managed to do to you with just words.
Inside the bedroom, you stopped at the foot of the bed, unsure whether to turn around or stay still. But you didn’t have to ask.
“Turn around.”
You obeyed immediately.
He stepped in close, the heat of him pressing into you just as his hand gripped a firm handful of your hair giving it a tug.
“I can feel you shaking,” he murmured, his mouth brushing against your neck. “You’ve been so worked up since downstairs.” His lips trailed along your jaw slowly, down the curve of your neck, before you felt him bite down gently, his tongue smoothing over the sting.
“Clothes off, sweetheart.” He took a step back, giving you space.
You reached for the hem of your shirt and peeled it up over your head, letting it fall to the floor. His eyes tracked every inch of newly exposed skin, like he was cataloguing every place he intended to touch.
You pushed your pants down next, shimmied them over your hips, then stepped out, standing there in just your bra and panties, chest rising and falling.
“All of it.”
Your fingers trembled as you reached behind and undid your bra, letting it slide off your shoulders. Then finally, you hooked your thumbs into the waistband of your underwear and slid them down your legs, stepping out of them and standing bare in front of him.
He nodded toward the bed.
You turned and sat on the edge first, heart racing, then eased yourself down, your back meeting the cool sheets as you settled into place beneath his gaze.
It didn’t take long before he was hovering over you, one hand spreading your thighs as he settled between them, the other coming up to rest lightly – so lightly – around your throat.
You whimpered.
“There it is,” he whispered, kissing just beneath your ear. “That little sound you make when you’re starting to let go.”
Then his fingers found your clit, and you arched off the bed with a gasp, eyes fluttering shut as the pressure landed exactly where you needed it
“I can’t possibly imagine why you’d think this isn’t ‘my thing.’” His fingers kept working you. “Feel what you’ve done to me.”
Your hand moved down between you, palming him through his jeans – and Christ, was he hard. Straining against the fabric, so much so that it almost felt painful.
He groaned at the contact, his hips instinctively pressing into your touch.
“See?” he murmured, slipping a finger inside you without warning, drawing a moan from deep in your chest. “This is exactly my thing. And you—” he kissed the corner of your mouth, “you like this is my thing.”
You gasped, your back arching again, but his other hand was already moving, finding your neck again, pressing down just enough to hold you in place.
He leaned in close, brushing his nose along your cheek, his lips barely grazing the shell of your ear as he added a second finger. “You don’t even realize how pretty you are when you’re desperate, do you?” he whispered. “The way you shake. The way you clench around me when I take my time.”
“Aaron…”
He smiled against your skin. “I could keep you like this all night.”
“Please –” was all you managed, the word falling out in a half-broken whimper.
His hand at your throat tightened just enough to make your breath hitch, the same time he curled his fingers inside you. You clenched around him so hard you thought your body might unravel right then and there.
“Fuck – I – I –”
“What is it? Tell me exactly what you need.”
You bucked against him, unable to stop it, hands flying to his forearms – not to push him away, but to hold on. He didn’t move, didn’t ease up either of his hands.
“Or… do you want me to decide for you, hm?”
You couldn’t answer, not in words. Your mind was a haze of heat and ache, your breath catching somewhere between a sob and a moan. Your nails dug into his forearms, desperate for some sort of release.
“Too overwhelmed to answer?”
And then he stilled.
Fingers deep inside you, his body caging yours, hand still resting at your throat but no movement. No friction. No relief. You whined, your hips shifting in an attempt to chase more.
“I’ll decide, then,” he said softly, like he was offering kindness. “You want release? Earn it.”
He withdrew his fingers slowly, achingly slow, and the loss had you nearly sobbing. But before you could even begin to beg, he brought his slick fingers up between you and pressed them to your lips.
“Taste it,” he murmured. “Taste how worked up you are. Taste what you do to me.”
Your lips parted without thought, wrapping around his fingers. You moaned as your tongue slid over them, tasting yourself on his skin. He pressed a little deeper, a little further down your throat, and you hollowed your cheeks, sucking greedily.
“Good girl,” he whispered, voice rough now. “So fucking good for me.”
He began making his way down your body, peppering kisses over your chest, you stomach, your hips. You could feel him everywhere, his breath fanning against your skin, his hands sliding down your thighs, spreading you open again.
He lowered himself between your thighs, and when his mouth finally met you again, it was everything.
His tongue lapped at you, circling your clit before dragging lower to taste all of you. He groaned into you, the sound deep, pushing you that much closer to the edge.
You couldn’t stop yourself from moving – hips bucking, thighs twitching, grinding against his face, desperate for more. But he only gripped your hips harder, strong arms pinning you down like it was nothing. Like your squirming didn’t even faze him. Like it didn’t make a damn bit of difference.
You whimpered, barely coherent and all you could think about was how badly you wanted those bruises. You wanted to see the outline of his fingers tomorrow. You wanted to remember exactly how they got there.
The pressure built low in your stomach, your thighs beginning to tremble, clenching around his face.
“S’okay baby,” he mumbled against you, voice muffled by your skin. “I’ve got you.”
And that was all it took.
Your thighs clamped around his head, your hips jolting up off the bed, and you cried out, high and breathless, one hand flying to your mouth, the other tangled in the sheets. You writhed beneath him, overstimulated and soaked, gasping through the aftershocks. Your whole body was twitching, lips parted, chest heaving.
He finally pulled back, mouth and chin glistening. “You should see yourself. You don’t even know how beautiful you look when you come.”
You were still catching your breath when you heard the sound of his zipper, the clink of his belt hitting the floor. You reached up to brush a strand of hair off your damp forehead, but your hand dropped the second you felt him between your thighs again, tip dragging slowly along your soaked slit.
Your entire body went still, mouth falling open and he hadn’t even pushed inside you yet.
“You okay?” he asked, pausing just long enough to check in.
“Yes,” you breathed, eyes wide. “More than okay. So okay.”
He let out a quiet laugh. “Now you want to talk?”
“I’m just –” you started, breath catching every time the head of his cock slid through your folds. “I’m just saying, I didn’t know it could feel like this, and I – God, Aaron –”
And then he thrusted into you.
One deep stroke that filled you completely, stealing the rest of the sentence right out of your mouth. Your eyes flew open, a strangled gasp caught in your throat as your head tipped back against the pillow, hands flying to his shoulders to hold on.
“Yeah,” he gritted out, his voice hot against your ear. “I thought that might shut you up.”
You could only whimper in response, nails digging into his skin as he stayed there, buried to the hilt, giving you no room to think.
“You feel that?” he murmured, rocking into you once, slow and deep. “You take me so fucking well.”
You nodded, mouth open, breathless. “I wasn’t done talking,” you managed to whisper.
He pulled back slightly, just enough to drag the tip out to your entrance and paused. “Go ahead,” he encouraged. “Try.”
“Fuck y–”
He slammed back in, cutting you off mid-word with a thrust somehow deeper than the last.
“Fuck you?” he echoed smugly. “Yeah. I think I will.”
And he did – hips rocking into yours, each thrust pushing you further into the mattress. Then his hand came up, wrapping around your throat again and you clenched around him, a moan escaping your lips. He let out a low tsk, like he’d caught you misbehaving.
He leaned in closer, his chest pressing against yours, his thrusts slowing. They were deeper now, rougher, grinding into you with so much intensity you weren’t even sure where your body ended and his began.
“This,” he murmured, squeezing just a little tighter, “this is what you were so scared to ask for?”
You opened your mouth to answer, to give him something, anything, but he slammed into you before the words could form, another deep, brutal thrust that knocked the breath out of you.
“I—Aaron, I—” you tried again, voice thin.
Another thrust. Harder.
You gasped, your back arching off the bed. “You’re not even letting me –”
He did it again, cut you off with a stroke that had your vision going white at the edges.
“Fuck—you’re doing this on purpose,” you whimpered, dazed and desperate.
“I sure am.” His hand tightened just a little more at your throat. “You want to know what my turn-on is?” he muttered, not waiting for an answer. “Seeing you fucked senseless.”
Another thrust hit that perfect spot, making your entire body jerk beneath him. You tried to speak, to respond, but he snapped his hips again and you mewled out whatever nonsense your uncooperative tongue could muster.
“You want to come?”
You nodded frantically, words useless now, tears brimming from the sheer overload.
“Good. Then do it.”
He reached down between your bodies, fingers finding your clit, setting a pace in perfect sync with his thrusts. Your hips began to stutter as you screwed your eyes shut, the pressure building too fast to stop.
It took mere seconds before your body seized around him.
“Jesus – fuck, that’s it,” he groaned. “You’re so fucking tight when you come –”
His rhythm faltered, stammered and then he was slamming into you one last time, your name falling from his lips as he came.
He loosened his grip on your throat, both hands sliding to your ribcage, gripping you like he never wanted to let go.
Neither of you spoke. Both of you were too focused on catching your breath, sharing the same shallow air like it might not be enough.
Finally, after a minute, he leaned in, pressing a slow, open-mouthed kiss to your jaw. “Think we should play card games more often.”

summary: You and Matt are now dating, but you haven't told anyone. How long will it take your friends to notice?
word count: 3.4k+
pairing: Matt Murdock x fem!reader
notes: i had this idea after writing goodnight n go (which is technically the first part, but you don't need to read it to understand this). anyways, here's a bunch of fluff
warnings/tags: after endgame but date is not specified, best friends to lovers, reader works at stark industries, matt is a cocky little shit, making out
Things moved on normally, the only thing that had changed in the past month was that you two weren’t just friends but dating.
You didn’t realize it, but you were already quite close to Matt.
Matt chuckled, his arm hooked around yours as the two of you waited in line for coffee. “Really?” He asked sarcastically.
“Ugh.” You elbowed him. “You’re an ass.”
“I’m just saying, what kinda friends have a toothbrush at their place?” He tapped his cane against the floor lightly.
You tilted your head. “Uhhh… pretty sure at one point Foggy had a toothbrush at your place.”
“That he never used other than one time.”
You scoffed, nudging his side again. "Still counts."
Matt smirked. "Does it?"
"Yes, because that means I’m not the weird one here. You just have a habit of letting people leave their stuff at your place."
Matt tilted his head slightly, feigning thoughtfulness. "Interesting theory. Except you’re the only person whose toothbrush has stayed."
You opened your mouth to argue, then paused, realizing he was right. "Okay, fine, but that’s only because—"
"You stay over all the time?"
You huffed, rolling your eyes. "You’re impossible."
"And yet, here you are," he teased, squeezing your arm lightly before stepping forward to order.
---
Foggy opened the door to Matt’s office. “Hey, did you ever finish the deposition for the Martin case?”
Matt put down the fork to his Pad Thai, leaving it in the Styrofoam container. “Yeah, I did.”
You took the opportunity, snatching the fork from his container and stealing a bite of his Pad Thai. Matt huffed, but you could hear the amusement in it.
"Really?" he murmured.
"You put it down," you said, chewing. "That means it's fair game."
Foggy barely glanced up from the papers in his hand. "She’s got a point, Matt. You know the rules."
Matt exhaled sharply, shaking his head as he blindly reached for the fork still in your grip. You dodged, keeping it out of his reach as you took another bite.
Foggy flipped a page. "Anyway, judge pushed the hearing back a week, which is good because it gives us time to go over the new witness statement. Karen’s taking a look at it now."
Matt hummed in acknowledgment, still trying to reclaim his fork. You smirked, shifting slightly in his lap. He retaliated by sliding an arm around your waist, pinning you in place.
"You gonna give that back?" he murmured.
"Maybe," you teased, holding it just out of reach.
Foggy sighed, still not looking up. "If you two devolve into a full-on fork battle, at least take it outside. I don’t need Pad Thai in the depositions."
Matt smirked, finally managing to grab the utensil from your grip. "Noted."
You huffed but didn’t move, resting your elbow on his shoulder instead. "Fine. I got what I wanted anyway."
Matt chuckled, shaking his head as he twirled the fork back into his food.
Foggy snapped the folder shut. "Alright, well, since you two seem busy, I’ll go see if Karen needs help."
"Let us know if you need anything," Matt said easily.
"Yeah, yeah," Foggy muttered, already halfway out the door.
---
Josie’s was loud and crowded as always, but at this point it was like a second home. You were telling Karen about an incident in the lab. “—Levi somehow hooks the string around the sprinkler and pulls. I get an alert on my tablet and rush over to the lab. Turns out, when he pulled the sprinkler, he also pulled part of the main water line. All for a tiny qubit that got stuck on the ceiling.”
Karen snorted, shaking her head. "Please tell me this guy got fired."
"Nope," you said, sipping your drink. "Because technically, it worked. The qubit came loose. He just, y’know… flooded half the floor in the process."
Karen groaned. "God, Stark Industries sounds like a nightmare sometimes."
"You have no idea," you muttered, setting your glass down.
As you kept talking, you felt your shirt strap slide down your shoulder. It wasn’t anything major, just a slight shift, but before you could adjust it yourself, Matt did it for you.
His hand found your shoulder with ease, fingers brushing your skin as he hooked the strap with two fingers and guided it back into place. It was quick, thoughtless, something he’d probably done a hundred times before without even realizing.
Karen barely blinked.
You didn’t think much of it either, continuing on. "Anyway, Levi tried to convince me it was an 'engineering breakthrough' and that 'technically' he proved a new method of remote retrieval—"
"You’re kidding," Karen deadpanned.
"Oh, I wish."
Matt smirked beside you, listening quietly. His arm was resting along the back of your chair, close but not overbearing.
Karen leaned forward, taking another sip of her drink. "So what’d you do?"
You grinned. "Told him if he ever did that again, I’d make sure the next thing he got stuck was his own head in the centrifuge."
Karen burst out laughing. "And let me guess—he immediately backed down."
"Pretty much," you said smugly.
Matt chuckled, shaking his head. "You really are terrifying sometimes."
"And yet, here you are," you teased, echoing the same words you’d said to him earlier that morning.
Matt tilted his head slightly, smirk deepening. "Guess I have a thing for danger."
Karen rolled her eyes but didn’t comment. She was too used to the way you two interacted, and nothing about tonight seemed different from any other night.
---
“You didn’t have to come.” Matt murmured, as your hands combed through his hair. “It’s just a mugging case.”
“And yet,” you pulled your hands away. “You were goin’ to walk in there with hair like that.” You gave him a grin. “I helped you devil boy. Oh, wait.”
You pulled his red-lensed glasses off before cleaning them with your shirt. Matt huffed, tilting his head slightly. "You know, most people don’t manhandle my things without permission."
"Most people aren’t me," you shot back, flipping the glasses open and sliding them back onto his face.
Matt’s lips twitched, but he didn’t argue.
Foggy sighed from beside you. "How do you two have time for this while standing outside a courtroom?"
Karen smirked, arms crossed. "Multitasking."
You grinned. "Exactly. I’m helping him and annoying him at the same time."
Matt let out a quiet chuckle, shaking his head. "You really do take your job seriously."
"Obviously."
Before Foggy could reply, the courtroom doors opened, and the previous case let out, lawyers and reporters filing into the hallway. The four of you straightened slightly as Matt rolled his shoulders, settling into courtroom mode.
"Alright," Matt murmured, adjusting his tie. "Let’s get this over with."
You reached out instinctively, running a hand down the front of his suit, smoothing the fabric. "You’re good."
Matt caught your wrist before you could pull away, his thumb brushing over your pulse for just a second longer than necessary. “You going to stay?”
“Yep. I’ll be sittin’ in the front row looking pretty.”
Foggy snorted. "Sittin’ pretty? That’s your plan?"
"Someone’s gotta balance out Matt’s whole intimidating blind lawyer thing," you teased, adjusting your bag over your shoulder.
Matt smirked. "Intimidating, huh?"
"You know what you do," you muttered, patting his chest once before stepping back.
Karen chuckled, shaking her head. "Alright, let’s get in there before we miss the good part."
The courtroom was already filling up when you and Karen slipped into the front row, Matt and Foggy making their way to the bench. You crossed one leg over the other, leaning back slightly as you pulled your phone from your bag, muting notifications.
"You know, sometimes I forget you don’t actually work for them," Karen mused, watching as you settled in.
You glanced at her. "Why?"
Karen shrugged. "You’re here so often, always involved in their cases, bringing them food, making sure Matt doesn’t walk into court looking like he just crawled out of a dumpster—"
"Hey," you cut in. "I don’t make him look good. He just listens to me when I tell him to fix his tie."
Karen smirked, tilting her head. "Mhm."
You rolled your eyes, looking toward the front of the courtroom. Matt and Foggy were talking in hushed tones, Foggy flipping through a stack of papers while Matt leaned slightly toward him, nodding at something he said.
Karen was still watching you, but you ignored her.
The judge entered, and the room settled as the proceedings began.
---
The hearing wasn’t long, but it was long enough for you to notice Karen sneaking glances at you every so often. You didn’t say anything, keeping your focus on the case.
Matt and Foggy handled it well, as expected. You knew Matt’s confidence in the courtroom was unmatched, and even though you couldn’t see his eyes behind the red lenses, you knew he was completely locked in, analyzing every shift in the judge’s tone, every heartbeat in the room.
By the time the judge adjourned the hearing, you were stretching slightly, rolling your shoulders as you stood.
Matt and Foggy approached, gathering their things. "Well," Foggy said, stuffing papers into his briefcase. "That went about as well as it could’ve."
Matt hummed in agreement. "We should have a decision in a few days."
Karen exhaled. "That was exhausting to watch, so I can’t imagine how you two feel."
Matt smiled. "Used to it."
You reached out, fixing the fold of his pocket square before he could tuck his cane under his arm. "You did good."
Matt turned his head toward you slightly, smirk playing at his lips. "Yeah?"
You huffed. "Yeah, Murdock. Try not to look so smug about it."
Foggy raised a brow, gaze flickering between the two of you for a second. Karen, too, was watching, something unreadable in her expression.
Neither of them said anything.
"Alright," Foggy finally broke the silence, snapping his briefcase shut. "Lunch? Please? I need food after all that legal jargon."
"Agreed," Karen said.
You nodded. "Sounds good to me."
Matt tapped his cane against the floor once, falling into step beside you. Karen shot one last glance between the two of you but still said nothing.
---
You pulled out an expired container of milk. “Matty, I seriously don’t know how you, of all people, didn’t notice you had 2-week expired milk in your fridge.”
Matt smirked from where he was leaning against the counter, arms crossed over his chest. "You think I make a habit of sniffing my milk cartons?"
You made a face, waving the expired container in his direction. "Considering you should be able to smell the rotting dairy in your fridge? Yeah, actually, I do."
Matt huffed a quiet laugh, stepping forward as you popped the lid open and took an experimental sniff—only to gag immediately.
"Jesus Christ," you muttered, shoving the carton at him. "Smell it. I dare you."
Matt wrinkled his nose, taking a slight step back. "I’ll pass."
"Uh-huh, that’s what I thought." You shut the carton and tossed it in the trash before opening the fridge again. "When’s the last time you actually bought groceries?"
Matt leaned against the counter, lips twitching. "Don’t know. You usually do it for me."
You shot him a look over your shoulder. "That’s not the win you think it is, Murdock."
"I don’t know," he murmured, stepping behind you, hands settling at your waist. "Feels like a win to me."
Your breath hitched as he leaned in slightly, lips brushing just behind your ear. You huffed, pushing him back lightly with your elbow. "No, you don’t get to distract me. Your fridge is a disaster."
Matt let out a quiet chuckle but didn’t let go entirely. "I’ve survived this long."
"Yeah, because I keep you alive," you muttered, pulling out a sad-looking bag of spinach and holding it up for him. "This? This is a crime."
Matt smirked. "Pretty sure I deal with actual crimes for a living."
"You’re so lucky you’re cute." You tossed the bag onto the counter with a sigh. "Alright, that’s it. We’re going grocery shopping."
"You say that like I have a choice."
"You don’t," you said, shutting the fridge and turning in his arms.
Matt smiled, fingers brushing over your hip before he dropped his hands. "At least let me buy you dinner after."
You narrowed your eyes playfully. "Bribing me with food?"
"Wouldn’t be the first time."
You rolled your eyes, but the smirk you tried to suppress still made its way onto your lips. "Fine. But you’re carrying all the bags."
"Deal," Matt murmured, reaching for his cane.
You grabbed your coat, glancing at him as he adjusted his watch. "And I’m making sure you don’t buy anything that will expire in two days."
Matt chuckled. "Now that’s just cruel."
---
The grocery store was relatively quiet for a Friday night, the kind of late-evening lull where the only customers were people grabbing last-minute dinner ingredients or, in Matt’s case, replacing an entire fridge’s worth of expired food.
You pushed the cart while Matt walked beside you, his hand resting lightly at the crook of your elbow. "Alright, first things first," you said, steering the cart toward the produce section. "You’re getting actual vegetables. Not just things that used to be vegetables before they died a slow, tragic death in your fridge."
Matt smirked. "I resent that."
"You resent having to eat vegetables," you shot back, picking up a head of lettuce and tossing it into the cart.
Matt tilted his head slightly, like he was considering. "That might be true."
You sighed dramatically. "It’s like taking a toddler shopping."
"You did sign up for this," Matt pointed out, casually trailing his fingers over the display of apples as he passed.
You side-eyed him. "Did I? I don’t remember agreeing to supervise you."
"You knew what you were getting into," he teased, reaching past you to grab an apple and setting it in the cart.
"Yeah, yeah," you muttered, adding a few more. "What else do you need? Other than everything."
Matt hummed, fingers tapping lightly against the handle of the cart. "Bread. Eggs. Coffee."
"Obviously," you muttered, already steering the cart in that direction.
As you walked, Matt’s hand slid from your elbow to your wrist, fingers idly tracing over your pulse before his hand found yours, linking your fingers together like it was nothing.
You squeezed his hand slightly. "If you think holding my hand is gonna distract me from making you buy actual groceries, you’re wrong."
Matt huffed a quiet laugh, thumb brushing over the back of your hand. "Worth a shot."
"Mm-hmm," you mused, scanning the shelves as you walked. You paused near the coffee aisle, reaching for a bag of Matt’s usual blend.
"That one’s good," Matt said, nodding toward it.
You smirked, holding up a different one just to mess with him. "What about this one?"
Matt tilted his head slightly, a smirk playing on his lips. "That one’s decaf."
Your lips parted in mock surprise. "Wow. Look at that. Guess you do pay attention to your groceries."
Matt exhaled a laugh, leaning in slightly. "I pay attention to you."
Your stomach flipped, but you covered it with an eye roll, tossing his usual coffee into the cart before dragging him toward the next aisle.
---
By the time you made it to the checkout, the cart was full. Probably more food than Matt had ever willingly bought for himself.
"You’re never gonna finish all this," he mused as you unloaded onto the conveyor belt.
"You will if you actually cook," you shot back. "And don’t tell me you can’t. I’ve seen you do it."
Matt smirked, handing the cashier his card before you could stop him. "Guess I have no choice now."
You squinted at him. "That sounds suspiciously like a challenge."
Matt tilted his head. "Maybe it is."
You grinned. "Alright, Murdock. Guess I’ll be the judge of whether or not you can actually cook."
Matt chuckled, grabbing the grocery bags as the cashier finished bagging them. "I did offer to buy you dinner."
You crossed your arms. "I thought we were talking restaurant dinner, not Murdock’s Mystery Kitchen dinner."
Matt smirked, shifting the bags in his hands. "I never specified."
You rolled your eyes but reached out, grabbing a couple of bags from him. "Fine. But if you burn anything, I’m taking over."
"Noted," Matt said, leaning in just slightly. "But I wouldn’t underestimate me, sweetheart."
You huffed, shoving a bag at him before walking toward the door. "We’ll see about that, devil boy."
---
“Where’s my shirt? You know, the soft blue one with a star embroidered on it?”
Matt, who was sitting on the couch, fingers tracing a braille legal document, tilted his head. “…Where are your clothes?”
“My—that’s what I’m asking you.” You replied, hands on your hips, leaning against his bedroom door.
Matt’s lips twitched, setting the braille document down on the coffee table. He turned his head slightly, his attention fully on you now. "You’re asking me where your clothes are?"
"Yes, Matty." You sighed, crossing your arms. "I took a shower, and now I can’t find my damn shirt. The soft blue one? The one with the star embroidered on it?"
Matt hummed, pushing himself up from the couch, his movements slow, deliberate. "And you think I did something with it?"
"You have a habit of stealing my clothes," you pointed out. "So yes, you’re my prime suspect."
Matt smirked, stepping toward you. "Interesting accusation, sweetheart."
You didn’t flinch as he closed the distance, his fingers barely brushing along your forearm, trailing up to your shoulder before settling against your jaw.
"You’re not wearing any clothes."
You rolled your eyes. "I am wearing clothes. Just not the ones I want."
Matt exhaled a quiet chuckle, tilting his head slightly. "Bra and underwear don’t count."
"Tell that to every guy who’s ever seen a Victoria’s Secret ad," you muttered.
Matt grinned. "Is that what this is? A show?"
You huffed, lightly swatting at his chest. "You’re impossible."
"And yet, here you are," he teased, echoing your words from earlier, his fingers still lazily tracing the edge of your jaw.
You narrowed your eyes but didn’t pull away. "Are you gonna help me find my shirt or not?"
Matt’s lips twitched. "I’m starting to think you just wanted an excuse to walk around like this."
You scoffed. "Matty, if I wanted to walk around half-naked in your apartment, I would. I don’t need an excuse."
Matt grinned. "Good to know."
You rolled your eyes, stepping back. "So are you gonna help or—"
Before you could finish, Matt turned toward his dresser, fingers trailing over the top before he grabbed something and held it out.
Your missing shirt.
Your jaw dropped. "You knew where it was this whole time?"
Matt shrugged. "You left it here last week. I thought it was mine."
You squinted at him. "Since when do you own a soft blue shirt with a star embroidered on it?"
Matt smirked. "I don’t, but you leave your stuff here so often, I figured it was fair game."
You snatched it from his hands. "Unbelievable."
Matt huffed a laugh, crossing his arms. "You gonna put it on, or do I get to keep enjoying the view?"
You shot him a look, but the heat in his voice sent something warm curling in your stomach. You turned away, slipping the shirt over your head, and when you glanced back, Matt was still smirking.
"Happy now?" you muttered.
Matt hummed, stepping closer again. "Not yet."
Before you could respond, he leaned in, catching your chin between his fingers before pressing a slow, lingering kiss to your lips.
When he pulled back, his smirk deepened. "Now I’m happy."
You scoffed, trying to ignore the way your heart was hammering in your chest. "You’re ridiculous."
"And you love it."
You rolled your eyes but didn’t argue.
---
It was late at night when Matt convinced you to stay. Foggy and Karen were out of the office for the night, leaving just you and Matt doing your separate work.
The office was quiet, save for the occasional rustling of paper and the distant hum of the city outside.
You were perched on Matt’s couch, cross-legged, a set of blueprints spread across your lap while he sat at his desk, reading over a case file. Neither of you spoke, lost in your own work, but there was a comfortable ease to it.
"Are you even getting anything done over there?" Matt asked suddenly, breaking the silence.
You didn’t look up. "Are you?"
He hummed. "I was. Until I realized how unfair this is."
You sighed, already knowing where this was going. "What’s unfair, Matty?"
"You get to sit all comfy on my couch, while I’m stuck here, hard at work."
You snorted. "Hard at work, huh? I didn’t realize whining counted as work."
Matt pushed his chair back, standing slowly. "I think I deserve a break."
You barely glanced up. "Then take one. I’m actually doing something productive."
Matt made his way toward you, hands in his pockets. "Are you?"
You narrowed your eyes, lifting a brow. "Yes. Unlike some people, I have deadlines to meet."
Matt hummed, stepping in front of you. "And yet, you’re still here. With me."
"Because you asked me to stay," you reminded him, flipping a page. "You coerced me."
Matt smirked. "Did I?"
"Yes, you—hey!"
In one swift motion, Matt plucked the blueprints from your lap and set them aside. Before you could protest, he leaned down, hands bracketing your sides as he caged you against the couch.
"Take a break with me, angel," he murmured.
You exhaled, glaring up at him. "You are so—"
Whatever insult you had lined up died in your throat as Matt leaned in, pressing a slow, lingering kiss to your jaw. His lips brushed over your pulse, deliberate, teasing.
"Annoying?" he murmured.
You swallowed hard. "Distracting."
Matt grinned against your skin. "Mm. I’ll take that."
Your fingers curled around his tie, tugging slightly. "You are so lucky I like you."
Matt chuckled, dipping his head until his lips were just barely grazing yours. "Yeah?"
"Yeah."
You closed the distance, kissing him properly.
Matt exhaled against your lips, deepening it immediately. His hands skimmed down your sides, gripping your waist as he pulled you flush against him. You barely noticed when he guided you backward, until the edge of his desk dug into your lower back.
"Matty," you murmured between kisses.
"Mm?"
"I thought we were taking a break."
"This is my break," he murmured, pressing an open-mouthed kiss to your throat.
You huffed a quiet laugh, threading your fingers into his hair. "Productive."
Matt grinned against your skin, hands slipping under the hem of your shirt. "You’re the one distracting me, sweetheart."
You rolled your eyes but didn’t stop him, tilting your head slightly to give him better access. His lips trailed back up, capturing yours again in a kiss that left your head spinning.
Neither of you noticed the sound of the front door opening.
At least, you didn’t.
Matt either didn’t hear it, or—more likely—just didn’t care.
"Hey, Matt, I left my phone—"
Foggy’s voice cut through the air like a record scratch.
You froze.
Matt, however, barely reacted. His lips left yours just enough for him to let out a quiet sigh—like he was annoyed—before pressing one last kiss to your jaw.
"Should’ve knocked, Fog," he murmured.
Your entire body was on fire. You didn’t dare turn around. Foggy, for his part, just stood there. Silent. Karen was the one to break it. "Uh."
You exhaled sharply, tilting your head back against the desk. "Jesus Christ."
Matt still didn’t move. He just turned his head slightly in their direction. "You left your phone?"
Foggy blinked. "Yeah." A beat. "But now I kinda wanna leave it here forever."
Karen coughed, her voice tight with suppressed laughter. "Should we leave?"
You groaned, covering your face with your hands.
Matt just smirked. "You could, but I doubt you will."
Karen cleared her throat. "Y’know what? I suddenly really need a drink."
"Yeah, me too," Foggy muttered, grabbing his phone off the desk and speed walking toward the door.
Karen cast one last glance between the two of you, shaking her head before following. The second the door shut behind them, you finally shoved Matt away.
"You knew they were coming, didn’t you!?"
Matt grinned, shrugging. "You said it yourself—I have a habit of coercing you."
You gaped at him. "Murdock."
He just leaned in again, lips ghosting over your ear. "You gonna finish what you started, angel?"
Your face burned. "I started!?"
Matt chuckled, nudging his nose against yours.
"You’re impossible," you muttered, still flustered.
"And yet," Matt murmured, smirking, "here you are."

You had just finished taking a long, hot shower and changed into an oversized shirt and sweatpants when your apartment door was almost knocked down by whoever was on the other side. Your bedroom was quiet and cozy; the cheap projector you bought on Amazon was playing Netflix on your wall. Startled by the loud banging, your first instinct was to hide under the covers, afraid someone was trying to rob your place.
Your heart pounded violently against your rib cage. From beneath the covers, you squeezed your eyes shut and tried to ignore the sounds, but they didn’t stop for a whole five minutes. Then it hit you: Sunghoon had gone out with your brother Heeseung today, and that could be them. With your bottom lip caught between your teeth, you slowly got out of bed and made your way to the front door.
The banging had finally stopped, but you could hear muffled voices from outside. You shook your head and cursed under your breath, already promising yourself you’d beat up your brother when he got inside. As your hand slowly turned the doorknob, you were met with a sight you never thought you’d witness.
“Help me!” your brother complained, struggling to keep Sunghoon on his feet. “He’s heavier than he looks.”
Unfortunately, despite his plea, you stayed still, arms crossed over your chest. A smug smile tugged at your lips as your eyes traveled to Sunghoon, who was weakly resting against Heeseung for support. His head was down, his hands stuffed in his pockets, looking far too adorable for someone this drunk.
“Why are you just standing there? Help me!” Heeseung whined, clearly annoyed by your amused expression.
“I told you he could barely hold his alcohol, and you still took him out. Maybe you should just deal with him yourself,” you teased, arching an eyebrow. You turned to leave, but your brother quickly grabbed your wrist.
“Please, YN I know you’re right. But I really need to puke, and there’s no way I’ll make it in time if you don’t help.”
Your sleepy eyes studied your brother’s face, and the way his hairline was damp with sweat and his skin looked pale as paper made your stomach drop with worry.
“Fuck… okay. Hand him over,” you muttered, your heart sinking at the state Heeseung was in.
Your brother struggled to pass Sunghoon’s weight to you, his arms almost giving out. But the wasted man didn’t move an inch. His eyes stayed shut, his body slumped like dead weight, but you knew better than to think he was asleep.
“Come on, man. Cooperate,” Heeseung grumbled, giving Sunghoon’s face a few gentle slaps. “It’s YN. She can take care of you.”
At the sound of your name, Sunghoon’s eyes finally snapped open. His head lifted sluggishly, his face flushed from his ears to his neck, a stark contrast to his usual pale complexion. His lazy, unfocused gaze found yours, squinting like he was trying to make sure it was really you.
“Hoon, let me take care of you,” you said softly, offering him a gentle smile. You watched as his face relaxed instantly, and without hesitation, he stumbled forward toward you.
His heavy arm slipped off Heeseung’s shoulder and landed on yours, his body leaning into you for balance. Clumsily, his feet tangled beneath him, and before you could stop it, he tripped, falling forward. You caught him just in time, your arms slipping under his shoulders, but his face landed right against your chest, inches above your boobs.
Your cheeks burned with embarrassment, but to your luck, Heeseung was already sprinting to the bathroom, completely missing the awkward scene. Sunghoon slowly lifted his head from your chest, his red eyes looking up at you, dazed and unfocused.
“I’m sorry about that,” he mumbled, his words slurring as his tongue rolled lazily.
You didn’t respond, mostly because your heart was beating way too fast. He was closer to you than ever before, and despite the obvious scent of alcohol, traces of his cologne still lingered, making you even more flustered. How did he manage to still look so adorable, even while wasted? You hated how easily he charmed you without even trying.
“Let’s get you to your room,” you murmured, helping him stand properly and guiding him forward with slow, careful steps.
Sunghoon didn’t dare look at you, knowing damn well that if he did, he’d end up spilling his guts. But even without looking, the scent of your peachy body wash clung to your skin, and since he was taller than you, he could catch the faint fragrance of your expensive shampoo. It was familiar and comforting. Without even realizing it, he leaned down slightly, his nose brushing closer to your hair as he inhaled softly.
You noticed the way he kept sniffing at your hair, and while it was kind of weird, you brushed it off, blaming his drunken state. Still, the walk to his bedroom felt like it took forever; your body was already tired from supporting his weight. Heeseung wasn’t lying when he said Sunghoon was heavier than he looked. Potentially it was because, underneath the baggy clothes he always wore, his body was well-built with strong muscles defined beneath the fabric.
Sunghoon’s a shy nerd — you’ve known that ever since you met him years ago. Because of his reserved nature, he rarely walks around the house shirtless, but on the rare occasions he does, you do your best to ignore it, not wanting to make him feel uncomfortable. Even though you’ve been friends for years and have seen each other in swimsuits before, Sunghoon’s always been a respectful man. He knows it’s not exactly right to just wander around half dressed, the same way you don’t walk around without shorts or pants, so he rarely does it. It’s not that he’s uncomfortable around you; it’s that he respects you and cares about your comfort.
Sometimes, though, you wish he wasn’t so careful. Sometimes you wish you could just lounge around in an oversized shirt without a second thought. And you wish he’d just do whatever he wanted, but he’s too much of a gentleman for that.
When you finally reach his bed, you throw him onto it without an ounce of grace, your arms, and legs aching from carrying most of his weight. Sunghoon flops face down onto his perfectly made bed, and a giggle escapes your lips.
“Hoon, you think you can take care of yourself now?” you ask, circling the bed and bending down near his face.
He turns his head toward you, his dirty blonde hair falling over his precious eyes, blocking his view. Without even thinking, as if reading his mind, your fingers gently reach out and tuck the strands behind his ear, letting his eyes meet yours clearly.
Your hair was still damp, the heavy ends soaking little patches of your sleeping shirt. Sunghoon thought it was adorable how you always wore his old shirts to bed; the fabric was way too big on your frame. Your face was calm, a soft smile playing on your plump lips. He could feel your warm breath against his skin from how close you were, and he couldn’t help but let his feelings take over.
“Help me undress,” he murmured, rolling onto his back.
“Sunghoon—” you whispered, your face already heating up. “I… I can’t do that—”
“Why not? I can barely keep my eyes open. The room’s spinning, and your smell is everywhere. My head’s a mess. Please,” he insisted, lifting his head just a little, his hazy eyes focused on your flustered face.
You stayed frozen in place, panicking over his bold request.
“Come on, YN. Start with my trainers, then the pants. I’ll try to get the shirt off,” he said, his sudden confidence making your heart skip a beat. The alcohol was clearly making him bolder.
You took a deep breath and, with shaky hands, started to undo the knots on his trainers. You wanted to scold him for forgetting to take them off before stepping inside, but you knew it wouldn’t make much of a difference, not when he was this far gone. Holding his ankle with your left hand, you pushed his trainers off his feet with your right. When you finally glanced up again, you realized he’d already shrugged off his hoodie, leaving him in a sleeveless shirt.
“I feel like I’m going to puke.” Sunghoon complained, his lips forming an exaggerated pout.
“Please don’t. We don’t have another bed, and Hee’s probably passed out on the couch,” you pleaded, your face twisting at the thought of the mess that would cause.
“I could sleep in your bed,” he offered, his voice soft but unmistakably teasing.
You froze, completely caught off guard, but you managed to keep your cool.
“You wish, dummy,” you shot back with a laugh, brushing off the comment as you reached for the belt on his pants.
You avoided his face as much as possible after that, not wanting him to see the way your cheeks burned.
“Yeah… I do,” you heard him mumble quietly.
Your hands stilled midair, your fingers barely brushing against the buckle. Slowly, you lifted your head just enough to sneak a glance at him, but his right arm was draped over his eyes, hiding his expression.
The silence that followed was thick and heavy, making it hard to breathe. His words replayed in your mind on a loop. “Yeah, I do.” Was he… was he implying he actually wanted to sleep next to you?
Once again, your heart stumbled over itself, and you realized his drunk self was far harder to handle than you’d expected.
You forced yourself to focus, your fingers finally undoing his belt and working his pants loose. Sunghoon felt every slight movement, hyper-aware of your touch and your closeness. When he lifted his hips just enough to help you slide the denim down his legs, you gripped the fabric tightly. Your eyes squeezed shut, doing your absolute best not to stare at your ridiculously hot best friend lying there in just his underwear.
To calm your nerves, you turn around and neatly fold the clothes he just took off, placing them on the chair at his desk. As you do, you hear him move, and when you turn back, he’s already under the covers, sitting up against the headboard, his eyes fixed on you.
“Can you come here, please?” Sunghoon asks in a low, tired voice, searching for your gaze. But you keep avoiding his eyes.
He doesn’t understand why you’re acting so distant and shy. Usually, you’re the confident one, the one who leads him. Your confidence is what draws him in the most. When your eyes meet his for the briefest moment, he swears there’s something hidden behind those beautiful brown irises.
“Sunghoon, you need to sleep. You’re drunk,” you say, fidgeting with your fingers.
“No, wait, Y/N,” Sunghoon calls out, your name rolling off his tongue like a needy plea. “I need to tell you something,” he insists.
“No, you need rest.” You force a small smile and look away, already turning toward the door.
But Sunghoon feels like if he doesn’t say it now, he might never say it at all. So when he sees you walking away, he jumps out of bed and rushes toward you, his warm fingers wrapping around your wrist, stopping you in place.
“I like you,” he confesses, no shame or hesitation in his voice, his heart hammering against his chest. He lowers his head slightly, trying to catch your gaze, but you turn away, staring at the floor.
“You’re drunk,” you respond, refusing to look at him, your voice betraying you.
“That doesn’t change anything,” Sunghoon insists. His head remains lowered, still trying to meet your eyes, but you keep turning away. “Don’t date Jay. Please.”
So that’s what this was about. That’s why he’s been acting strange all week. He must have overheard you talking to your friends about Jay and about your date. The truth is, you didn’t tell him because you weren’t sure how he’d react. And besides, you and Jay weren’t even together yet. He had taken you out twice, but that was it.
Every time you think you might like someone new, Sunghoon begins acting weird and distant, making you feel guilty enough to pull away. But this time, he was going too far. Lying to you, saying he liked you? He couldn’t do that. He couldn’t play with your feelings like this.
“Sure. Tomorrow, you won’t even remember saying any of this, so I’m just—” You take a deep breath and finally lift your head. “I’m just going to pretend you didn’t say anything.”
Before Sunghoon can say anything else or even take a proper look at your face, you pull free from his grip and leave the room. He just stands there like a fool, hands sweating and chest tightening at your absence.
You walk quickly to your bedroom, which is just across from his. You don’t even glance at the living room, but you know your brother is still asleep on the couch, his soft snores echoing through the quiet house. Carefully, you close the door and rest your back against it, your heart pounding in your throat, tears welling up from the weight of it all.
As his confession lingers in your mind, you slowly slide down the door until you’re sitting on the floor, the warmth beneath you offering the faintest comfort. Your hands feel clammy, and your legs are weak like jelly. You want to believe his words were a lie, but there was something about the way he said them. You felt it in the way your heart raced the moment the words left his lips, the way a shiver ran down your spine when your eyes met his, even for just a second.
Finally, you squeeze your eyes shut and take a deep breath, letting your lungs fill to their max before slowly exhaling. But it’s useless. The memories of him flood your mind, drowning you completely. And before you know it, you’re pulled back to the day you first met him.
Your brother had just stormed into the house, a basketball in his hands, his hair damp with sweat. You were sitting in the kitchen, eating an apple, and reading a book. As Heeseung walked in, he greeted you with a big smile.
Behind him, a taller boy followed; his hair also dampened, sticking to his forehead. His laugh was deep, his smile revealing a pair of pretty fangs that made him incredibly attractive. For a moment, your eyes locked with his, and time seemed to slow, just like in a romantic movie. He smiled at you, then his cheeks flushed pink.
The air was sucked out of you, and you felt an instant pull toward him and that pretty smile. But the moment passed as he quickly hid behind your brother. You arched an eyebrow, looking at Heeseung.
“He’s a little shy,” Heeseung teased, handing him a cup of water. “He’s that guy I met at the park—the one who likes basketball,” your brother reminded you.
“Ah… right… It’s Sunghoon, isn’t it?” you asked, your gaze drifting back to the tall boy beside your brother. Sunghoon just nodded, offering you another faint smile.
You were sixteen when you met him. He was sixteen too, and your brother was nineteen. After that day, Heeseung and Sunghoon were inseparable. They played video games together at your house, spent weekends at the park playing basketball, and your brother even gave him rides to school sometimes.
At first, you thought of Sunghoon as just a cute boy who liked sports. But as the years passed, you realized he was so much more than that—a complete nerd who just happened to have an unfairly attractive face. Even though he’d been around you countless times, he remained just as shy as the first day you met, which somehow made him even cuter.
Back then, he was just your brother’s friend. You had a boyfriend at the time, and you stayed with him until the day after your seventeenth birthday. That day was a disaster. You found out your ex had been cheating on you with an older girl.
You still remember Heeseung’s furious expression, his hands gripping your ex’s collar, practically lifting him off the ground. His neck was red, his entire body trembling with anger. Sunghoon had appeared just in time to stop Heeseung from doing something reckless.
That summer, Sunghoon and Heeseung stuck by your side. They dragged you out with them, forced you to play PlayStation, and did everything they could to cheer you up. Looking back, you’re sure it was one of the happiest summers of your life. Days filled with laughter and warmth, healing your broken heart piece by piece.
Heeseung always tried to distract you from your feelings, but whenever you found yourself alone with Sunghoon, he let you talk about whatever weighed you down. He was a good listener, always paying attention to the details and asking the right questions, making you feel truly heard.
That was when you first felt it. That little tingle in your chest as you gazed into his brown eyes. It was faint, almost imperceptible, but it was there. Sunghoon had the prettiest eyes you had ever seen, and the way they sparkled under a star-filled sky only made them more mesmerizing.
Ever since that day, you’ve been hiding your feelings for him.
You didn’t quite understand them at first. You had just gotten out of a relationship, and Sunghoon had always been sweet and caring—it was easy to mistake gratitude for something more. But when he started university and suddenly all the surrounding girls became interested in him, you knew it wasn’t just a silly crush.
You used to tease him about how popular he was, but he’d always brush it off with a shy smile, never believing a word you said. And despite all the attention he got, he remained quiet and reserved.
A few years have passed, and now you’re in your last year of college. The reason Sunghoon became your roommate is actually pretty funny. This final year is packed with important exams and projects, and since you had to commute back home every day, losing hours in transportation, you decided it was time to get a place of your own.
That turned out to be way harder than you thought because the rent was ridiculously high, and even though you were working part-time at a local coffee shop, it wasn’t nearly enough to cover both food and rent.
It was Heeseung who gave you the idea of finding a roommate, and you liked it. So you spread the word that you were looking for a female roommate. Turns out, not a single person was interested, and you were in trouble. The deadline to pay the first month’s rent was creeping closer, and you barely had enough money to eat.
That’s when Sunghoon offered to be your roommate, way too excited about the idea of spending more time with you. Heeseung loved the idea too, since it meant he’d have an easier time hanging out with both of you.
You were hesitant at first. After all, he was a man. But then you realized you’d lived with a man your whole life, your brother Heeseung. After a serious conversation about chores and responsibilities, you finally agreed.
It turns out Sunghoon was cleaner than you expected. The house was always tidy and smelled nice, and even better, he was always there with you. That’s when the regular movie nights started happening, and the two of you got closer than ever. You learned that when Heeseung wasn’t around, Sunghoon became more touchy and relaxed, his usual shyness melting away bit by bit.
He started making breakfast for both of you every day, waking you up with the smell of freshly made food. But the best part was the sight of him cooking with that cute pink apron tied around his waist. He always greeted you with a warm smile and a soft kiss on the top of your head—a little gesture that never failed to make you melt inside.
Those small things made it impossible to forget him.
Sunghoon wakes up with a massive headache, each throb pounding violently every time he opens his eyes. He curses under his breath and shuts them again, curling his knees up to his chest under the covers. Outside the blankets, his head takes a deep breath, and he’s met with a faint, familiar scent.
Your peachy body wash.
As soon as his nose recognizes the smell, the memories from yesterday flash before his eyes like some tragic, pitiful movie. “Fuck, that was such a bad moment to tell her how I feel,” he thinks, groaning as he lightly knocks his fist against his forehead.
Sunghoon never meant to make you push other people away. He tries so hard to smile and listen when you talk about other guys, but no matter how much he pretends, he can’t help the jealousy that coils in his chest.
Still, deciding not to skip his usual routine of making breakfast, he drags himself out of bed, throws on a pair of sweatpants, and slowly makes his way to the small kitchen. But to his surprise, you’re not there. That’s strange because you always wait for him so you can go to campus together.
Frowning, he grabs some hangover pills he stole from Heeseung out of the fridge. As he swallows them, his body slumps against the counter, the cold surface offering little relief.
The sun outside is shining brightly, filling the apartment with warm golden light. Sunghoon walks over to the windows and opens them, letting the fresh air sweep inside before calling out for you.
“YN?”
No response.
He checks the bathroom; the door’s wide open and the lights are off. The uneasy feeling in his stomach twists a little tighter as he moves to your bedroom. After knocking a few times and getting nothing, he pushes the door open, only to find a perfectly made bed and an open window, clear signs that you’ve already left.
On his way back to the kitchen, it dawns on him that Heeseung who was supposed to be sleeping on the couch, is gone too.
Debating whether he should go to class or stay home, Sunghoon eventually decides to skip. Besides the pounding headache and the queasy feeling in his stomach, there’s an ache in his chest telling him something’s wrong.
With a heavy sigh, he runs a hand through his messy, dirty-blonde hair and drops onto the couch. His only plan is to sleep the bad feeling away. It doesn’t take long, and within minutes, his tired body gives out, and he falls into a deep, restless sleep.
Meanwhile, hours pass, and you find yourself bored out of your mind in class. Though your eyes stay glued to the whiteboard, your thoughts are light years away. You feel guilty for leaving early this morning, but you just couldn’t face Sunghoon yet, not after his drunken confession.
In your head, none of it makes sense. How could he suddenly like you? He never flirted back, never initiated any kind of intimate touch, never did anything out of the ordinary. He was always respectful and caring. A constant, safe presence.
Before you know it, you’re chewing on your pen cap, and you quickly shake your head, weirded out by your own behavior.
The warm rays of sunlight streaming through the windows spread across your skin, lulling you into an almost drowsy state. When you glance at the clock on your wrist, you realize it’s almost midday, which means it’s time to head home for lunch.
But your thoughts wander as you picture walking through that front door. You wonder how Sunghoon’s feeling; his hangover must be brutal, considering how wasted he was last night.
Shoving the rising nerves aside, you leave the classroom the second your teacher dismisses you and head to the nearest supermarket. You grab lunch and some extra things you know the apartment needs, and before long, you’re standing at the front door.
The moment your hand grips the doorknob, your heart starts racing, but to your surprise, when you step inside, the apartment is silent.
Quietly, you make your way to the kitchen and set the grocery bag on the counter, and that’s when you spot him. Sunghoon is curled up on the couch, fast asleep, his body pulled in on itself like he’s trying to chase warmth.
A small smile tugs at your lips at the sight. Despite everything, there’s something so comforting about seeing him like this.
Carefully, you reach for the fluffy blanket resting on the side of the sofa and drape it over him, watching the way his body relaxes with a soft, sleepy sigh. Then, when you reach out and press your hand against his forehead, your heart sinks. He’s burning up.
Worry blooms in your chest as you hurry back to the kitchen, pulling out everything you bought for him: his favorite ramen noodles, some medicine, and a special seaweed soup meant to help with hangovers. Because no matter how complicated things feel right now, you can’t just sit back and watch him suffer.
You sit quietly at the kitchen table, eating your ramen as silently as possible, careful not to wake him. You’re relieved he’s still asleep; facing him right now would be too hard, with your mind still overthinking and making excuses for what he said last night.
Would it really be so bad if he liked you? No — after all, you’ve had a crush on him for a while, too. But it just doesn’t make sense in your head. Sunghoon is handsome and smart. You’re sure there are plenty of interesting girls who want him. And then there’s your brother. He’d probably be furious if he found out. He’d told you both, very clearly, not to get involved—he said it would ruin the friendship between the three of you.
The soft sound of Sunghoon’s breathing fills the room as you finish your food, then you grab your books for your afternoon classes, and slip quietly out of the house.
Sunghoon wakes up around five p.m., still confused and with a heavy headache pounding in his skull. The soft material of the blanket brushes against his face, and the realization hits him— you’ve already been home and left again. He sits up slowly, his eyes landing on the things you bought, neatly arranged on the counter.
Next to them, there’s a small, handwritten note:
“Please eat everything and take the medicine; you had a fever when I checked on you.”
A silly, lopsided smile creeps onto his lips as he reads it, his heart giving an involuntary flutter. He takes a moment to admire your beautiful handwriting before folding the note carefully and slipping it into his pocket.
He does exactly as you instructed: eats the food, takes the medicine, then lies back down, his body still craving rest. Sunghoon grips his phone tightly in his hand, determined to stay awake so he can talk to you when you get home. But exhaustion wins, and before he knows it, he’s fast asleep again.
The day slips by faster than you’d like. Despite the sun still hanging in the sky, the air has grown colder, making goosebumps rise on your arms. As you walk through campus, your eyes drift over the crowd of students talking, laughing, and going about their lives. And you wonder if any of them know the ache of falling for their best friend or not being able to overcome it, no matter how hard they try.
When you step inside the apartment, silence greets you once again. A quick glance at the couch shows Sunghoon still curled up, fast asleep. The empty packets from the food you bought sit abandoned on the coffee table.
Carefully, you tiptoe around the table, gather the trash, and throw it out. Then, worried about him, you kneel beside the sofa and gently press your palm to his forehead. The fever’s gone; the medicine worked.
A satisfied smile spreads across your face as you tug the blanket higher over his body, making sure he stays warm. With a quiet sigh, you head to your room, already thinking about the mountain of studying you need to catch up on.
The air in your room smells fresh, and you notice the window’s been shut. Sunghoon must’ve done it. You settle into your comfortable chair and take a deep breath, determined to focus. It’s been nearly impossible all day, with everything swirling around in your head.
Reaching for the headset hanging on the side of your desk, you slip it on, hoping the music will help you concentrate. Luckily, it works. Soon, you’re completely lost in a sea of books and exercises.
Meanwhile, Sunghoon wakes up again, this time feeling a lot better. The ache in his head has dulled, and his body no longer feels like lead. He stretches with a lazy yawn and checks the time on his watch at eight p.m.
The realization hits him like a truck.
“Shit,” he mutters, dragging a hand through his messy hair. He’s slept the whole day away.
Panic creeping in, he heads toward your bedroom. But when he gets there, his feet stop in front of the closed door. His palm hovers just inches from knocking, but he can’t seem to do it.
His heart pounds faster, his mind whispering all the worst possibilities.
Maybe she needs time. Perhaps she doesn’t want to see me. What if she’s uncomfortable now? What if she hates me? What if she wants me to leave?
The voice in his head wins, and the guilt weighs heavier on his shoulders as he turns away and heads to the kitchen.
Deciding to cook something, Sunghoon distracts himself with the familiar rhythm of preparing food. The scent of marinated pork belly fills the air as it sizzles on the stove, but his mind drifts far from the kitchen. What if you really do want him gone?
The thought tightens his chest, and that’s when the burning pain snaps him back to reality.
“Fuck!” he hisses, jerking his hand away from the pan’s hot edge and rushing to the sink. Cold water rushes over the burn, but the sting doesn’t fade easily, and neither does the frustration building inside him. He takes a deep breath, fighting back the tears threatening to well up in his eyes.
Once the pain eases, he dries his hand and applies a thick layer of burn cream from the fridge. With his injured hand still throbbing, he checks the pork belly, taking it off the heat just in time.
He plates everything carefully: a bowl of fresh rice, slices of perfectly grilled pork belly, a side of kimchi, pickled radish, and a sprinkle of sesame seeds just the way you like it.
Proud of his little masterpiece, he balances the tray and walks toward your bedroom, but once again, he finds himself frozen outside your door. His fingers hover near the wood, his heart pounding too fast. He’s never been here before, never confessed to anyone, never been this vulnerable.
And the fear of what you might say — of what you might feel — keeps him stuck right where he stands.
He takes a deep breath, reminding himself that everything’s fine. You’re YN, his best friend, not some stranger. His knuckles tap against your door a few times, but after waiting a few moments with no response, his hand moves to the cold knob, and he slowly turns it.
Sunghoon finds you completely focused on your studies, the room dimly lit, your headphones snug over your ears. He notices the empty water bottle at the corner of your desk and the crumpled cookie wrappers scattered nearby.
You barely even register his presence; it’s the subtle shift in light that finally makes you glance up, your eyes landing on your best friend.
“I… I made dinner for you,” he says, his voice quiet and hesitant as he holds up the tray. “And… thank you. For taking care of me today.”
You stay silent, your eyes flickering across his face, unsure and guarded. After a moment, your hands reach out, taking the tray from his grasp and setting it on your desk, pushing your books aside.
“Thank you… and you’re welcome. I will always take care of you.” you murmur softly, your gaze fixed on the food in front of you.
“Yeah... you’re welcome,” Sunghoon echoes hesitantly, his hand brushing the back of his neck. His eyes stay on you as you pick up your utensils and start eating, though you never once meet his gaze.
The silence that fills the room is thick and suffocating. It presses down on him, making it hard to breathe, his chest aching with the weight of it. He watches you, and the way you deliberately avoid his eyes cuts deeper than he expected. But deep down, he knows it’s fair — his actions last night weren’t exactly his finest. With his bottom lip caught between his teeth, Sunghoon makes a decision — maybe it’s better if he just leaves.
He moves toward the door, his footsteps slow and hesitant. But before stepping out, he glances back one last time, hoping, possibly, that you’ll stop him. That you’ll tell him to stay.
But you don’t.
And when the door clicks shut behind him, the silence in the room remains.
The weekend passes unbearably slowly. Since you only work on weekends, Sunghoon finds himself alone on Saturday and Sunday, his only company being his pile of missing assignments and his computer. He spends most of the day holed up in his bedroom, either sleeping or studying. The only times he comes out are to use the bathroom or greet you when you get home.
Sunghoon tries to talk to you during those brief moments, but you always excuse yourself, saying you’re tired and need to rest. And so, your best friend lies in bed, staring up at the plain white ceiling, feeling lonely and heartbroken. He hates this brick wall you’ve been building between the two of you; he worked so hard to overcome his shyness around you, and now it feels like it’s all falling apart.
A frustrated sigh escapes his lips as he rolls onto his side, his eyes landing on the artwork you’ve hung around the house. He admires the pieces, but his mind inevitably drifts back to you. He can’t figure out what’s going on, and that’s what terrifies him the most. Do you not feel the same way? Are you scared? He’s desperate for answers, but all he’s met with is silence.
You, on the other hand, were grateful for the weekend; it gave you the perfect excuse to avoid Sunghoon. Work was slow, which wasn’t exactly helpful because it left your mind too much room to wander back to him. You busied yourself with filler tasks just to avoid standing idly behind the counter, lost in your thoughts.
But eventually, your panic started giving way to logic. You realized that, no matter how awkward things had gotten, Sunghoon was still your best friend. He was still the only person who truly understood you and cared for you.
So, on your walk home Saturday night, you rehearsed a few things to say—words that would clear the air between you. But the moment you stepped inside and saw his sleepy, soft expression, every carefully crafted phrase vanished from your mind.
He was moving around the kitchen, maybe making a late-night snack. He wore a pair of gray sweatpants and an oversized navy blue hoodie, his blonde hair falling straight into his face. His pretty moles dotted his skin, accentuating his tired eyes and pouty lips. When he heard your footsteps, his head snapped toward you, but instead of the usual sweet smile he always greeted you with, he just pressed his lips together and went back to what he was doing.
A sharp pang of guilt twisted in your chest. You knew your avoidance had hurt him, and you wanted to apologize, but despite that, your legs had a mind of their own, carrying you straight to your bedroom without a word.
Unknowingly, the two of you ended up the same way that night, lying in your separate beds, staring at the ceiling, thinking about each other but too afraid to reach out. When Monday rolls around, you find yourself alone in the apartment. Sunghoon has classes all day, and you have none. So you decide to take advantage of the rare solitude and indulge in a little self-care. You paint your nails, make a lazy lunch with no protein, and binge a few episodes of a new drama on Netflix.
Since Sunghoon won’t be home until six, you take the freedom a step further, walking around the apartment in nothing but your underwear and one of his oversized shirts, the collar still faintly smelling like him despite being washed.
Currently, you’re in the kitchen making a smoothie, music blasting through the speakers as you sing and dance around without a care in the world. Your loose curls bounce with every move, your hips swaying in time with the beat. You belt out the lyrics to the latest Sabrina Carpenter song, completely unaware of the door opening behind you.
Intrigued by the loud music, Sunghoon quietly makes his way down the hall, stopping at the end to peek into the kitchen. The sight in front of him makes his breath catch.
You’re completely oblivious to his presence, twirling and singing your heart out as you move around the room. Sunghoon leans against the wall, his eyes following the sway of your hips and the curve of your legs. You look so carefree and happy, so unlike the distant, guarded version of you he’s been seeing these past few days. And for a moment, he just stands there, watching you, his heart aching and his mind racing.
“AHH, WHAT THE FUCK?!” you scream, jumping slightly when your eyes finally land on Sunghoon. “Jesus, Sunghoon, you scared the shit out of me,” you complain, your hand clutching your chest as you try to steady your breathing.
“I’m sorry. You just looked so beautiful, I couldn’t take my eyes off you,” he says shyly, his cheeks flushing red at being caught red-handed.
“Next time, text me when you’re coming home early! I would’ve changed…” Your hands tug at the hem of your oversized shirt, trying to pull it further down, aware of just how little you’re wearing underneath.
“Maybe you shouldn’t,” Sunghoon murmurs, his voice carrying a teasing edge.
Your eyebrows shoot up. “Where’s my shy Sunghoon at?” you ask, no longer caring that your bare legs are on full display.
“I’m still here,” he mumbles, his hand reaching back to scratch his neck. A nervous habit of his and the familiar gesture makes you smile.
“Can we talk?” you both blurt out at the same time.
A brief silence falls before you break into laughter, and Sunghoon follows suit. Just like that, the tension begins to lift, and the house feels warm and easy again, playful and familiar, like it always was. You gesture toward the sofa, and he sits down across from you.
You notice his knee bouncing and his hands fidgeting in his lap. The sight brings a wave of fondness; his nervousness has always been endearing to you.
“I’m sorry for avoiding you these past few days,” you start, your voice soft. “I was confused. My heart was a mess, and I didn’t know what to do.”
“No, YN it’s my fault,” Sunghoon says quickly, his warm brown eyes fixed on your face. “I shouldn’t have said what I said… or, at least, not like that. You deserved something more thoughtful, more romantic. But I guess… I’ve just been so desperate to tell you.”
As your eyes meet his, Sunghoon’s mind drifts lost in memories of you, of all the little things you’ve done that made him fall so hopelessly for you. Things you probably never realized meant so much to him, but he never forgot them.
He remembers your old bedroom in vivid detail—the collection of books lined up by the window, the cherry-scented candle on your nightstand, and the way the soft blue light of the moon reflected off your face that night. The night when everything changed.
“I’m serious, YN. I wasn’t going to keep giving her false hope,” he’d said, his voice firm. “So I just… told her I wasn’t interested. And yeah, I guess it wasn’t the best timing, but I wasn’t trying to be mean, just honest. Still, she ran out of the canteen sobbing.”
“You can’t be serious,” you’d replied, eyes wide. “She’s the most popular girl on the dance crew; how could you reject her like that?”
“Because I’m not interested,” Sunghoon insisted, his brows furrowing in confusion. “Why is that so hard to believe?”
“You do know there’s more to life than ‘League of Legends’ and ‘God of War,’ right?” you teased, a playful smirk tugging at your lips.
He rolled his eyes. “Yes, I know.”
“You’re twenty, Sunghoon. In the first year of college. You’re supposed to go out, get wasted, hook up, and live a little.”
“Not even you do all that, you only work and study.” he shot back. “Besides… I like someone else. And I can’t even think about anyone else when she’s around.”
He thought he was being obvious after all; it was just the two of you in your room, your shoulders brushing as you sat side by side.
But the smile slipped from your face, and when you looked away, his heart sank.
“Maybe you should go back,” you said quietly. “My brother can’t know you sneaked in here.”
But Sunghoon wasn’t ready to let you shut him out. His fingers tilted your chin gently, guiding your face back toward his. His eyes searched yours, taking in every detail — the way the moonlight cast a soft glow over your skin, the uncertainty in your wide, startled eyes.
But then reality crashed back in. He realized what he was doing and let go, his hand falling away as he stood up abruptly.
“Yeah, you’re right,” he muttered, his face flushed. “I should go.”
He slipped out of your room and back into Heeseung’s without making a sound, but his heart was pounding so loudly it felt deafening. Despite his embarrassment, he smiled to himself. Even if he’d chickened out at the last second, the image of you — bathed in moonlight, your face inches from his. It will forever burn in his memory.
That was the last time he tried making a move on you. He’d mistaken your silence for rejection, convinced you didn’t feel the same way.
But the truth was… his eyes had always lingered on you longer than anyone else’s. He loved the way your face lit up when you talked about things you loved and the way your eyes sparkled when you looked at him. And no matter how hard he tried to push those feelings down, they always found their way back to you.
Only recently did he realize how close he was to losing you to another man, and that made him open his eyes. When Heeseung invited him out for barbecue with his other friends, Sunghoon initially declined. He knew they usually drank a lot, and he could barely hold his alcohol — but when he heard Jay’s name mentioned, he quickly changed his mind. Sunghoon had never seen Jay before, only heard about him. And he’d heard about him from you.
You’d been talking to your best friend, and since your bedroom door was open, Sunghoon ended up overhearing by mistake. That was enough to make him curious and a little jealous. The day of the barbecue night out finally came. Heeseung was waiting in the living room, chatting with you about some family stuff.
Sunghoon can still remember the way your mouth fell open, and your eyes widened when you saw him. He might’ve dressed up a little more than usual, but he needed to meet Jay, and more importantly, he needed Jay to know how close you and Sunghoon were. Maybe then Jay would back off.
“Woah, Hoon…” you said in a flirty voice, his favorite. “You look so handsome.”
You stepped closer, smoothing his clothes with your hands. He was wearing a white button-up shirt, black baggy jeans, and a long black trench coat. Sunghoon looked smart and attractive, making your heart flutter.
He felt himself flush at your touch, warmth blooming in his chest. You were so clueless about how many moments like this meant to him.
“Thanks, YN,” he replied with a shy smile.
“Let’s go then?” Heeseung asked, standing up.
“Don’t let him drink too much; you know he can’t handle alcohol,” you teased, sparing a playful glance at Sunghoon.
“I’m not going to drink. Don’t worry,” Sunghoon assured you. Your brother gave you a tight hug and kissed your forehead.
Sunghoon awkwardly stepped closer too, but under Heeseung’s watchful eyes, all he dared offer was a soft head pat and a smile. You giggled at his weird behavior and guided them to the door, saying goodbye one last time before it closed.
The barbecue place was lively, packed with laughter and chatter in the air, blending with the sound of meat sizzling on the grill. Heeseung’s friend group was no different, cracking jokes and drinking while the food cooked.
But Sunghoon only had eyes for Jay, studying his every move, trying to figure out if this guy was even good enough to deserve your attention.
To Sunghoon’s dismay, Jay was everything he feared. Polite, charming, and attentive, always making sure everyone was eating, serving drinks, and keeping conversations light and fun. The jealousy Sunghoon had been feeling twisted into something darker: insecurity. Jay was the kind of guy people gravitated toward—confident, well-spoken, and social. Sunghoon felt like the opposite. A nerd, awkward, and embarrassed more often than not, despite literally living with you.
“How’s everything going with YN?” Heeseung asked Jay suddenly, snapping Sunghoon out of his thoughts.
Wait, even Heeseung knew about Jay? But Sunghoon didn’t?
“We’re taking it slow,” Jay replied with a gentle smile. “She’s a wonderful woman despite being your sister.”
“Hey!” Heeseung rolled his eyes, laughing. “Oh, speaking of YN this is Sunghoon! He’s my best friend, but YN’s too. We’ve been friends for years now!”
Sunghoon cursed silently. Did Heeseung really have to make this about him? Now everyone’s eyes were on him, waiting for a response, and he could feel his palms start to sweat.
“Yeah, me and YN, we’re… friends,” he said awkwardly, taking long, uncomfortable pauses between the words.
“Good. I’m glad you’re just friends,” Jay teased. “It would be weird if you had a crush on her or something.”
Sunghoon choked on his water.
“Nah, Sunghoon likes someone else, right?” Heeseung added, patting his friend’s back to help with the coughing.
Sunghoon’s face burned partially from embarrassment, partly from the lack of air. He just nodded, which made everyone laugh and reach for the soju bottles. And that’s when it hit him—maybe drinking wasn’t such a bad idea. Potentially, it would help him calm down. That’s how Sunghoon ended up wasted.
He’s pulled out of his thoughts by your voice calling his name.
“Hoon?”
“Yeah?”
“Can you be honest, please?” you ask softly, your eyes searching his face.
“About what?” Sunghoon blinks, realizing he hasn’t been paying attention.
“Come on, don’t joke around right now. I need to know the truth about what you feel for me.” Your voice is quiet but serious, and your fingers are nervously picking at your cuticles.
“I’ve told you already. I love you, YN. I always have,” Sunghoon confesses, the words spilling out before he can stop them.
“You were drunk.”
“I was aware of what i said. I love you,”
The silence that follows is strangely comfortable. You avoid his eyes, like you’re trying to piece together your own thoughts.
“Sunghoon—” you start, but he interrupts.
“You don’t have to love me back. I just needed you to know. It was time I finally told you. You have no idea how hard it is to hear you talk about other people when all I want is you.” The words pour out faster than he can think to stop them. But for once, he’s grateful.
“No, wait, the thing is… I love you too,” you admit, your heart pounding so hard you’re sure he can hear it.
“Wait, you do? I thought—”
“Why did you think I flirted with you all the time?” you ask, tilting your head.
“I thought that was just your personality,” Sunghoon says, clearly confused.
You burst out laughing. “I mean, I am a flirty person, but only with you.”
Your eyes meet his, and you see the way his soft brown iris expands, his entire expression softening.
“I don’t understand how you like me, though,” you say. “You never showed it.”
“You’re joking, right?” Sunghoon looks at you in disbelief. “I cook for you every morning. I kiss your head to say good morning. I let you ramble about your K-pop idols for hours. Not only that, but I let you cuddle me when we watch TV. How was that not obvious?”
“I thought you were just being a good best friend,” you mumble, feeling heat rise to your face. You both shake your heads, laughing at how oblivious you’d been to each other’s feelings.
The sun outside fades, casting the room in soft blue shadows, and you can’t stop staring at the boy in front of you, so flushed, shy, and beautiful.
Before you can talk yourself out of it, you lift yourself up and slide onto his lap, settling on his thighs. Sunghoon’s eyes track your every movement, his breath hitching. He watches how his shirt rises higher in your thighs, exposing more and more of your skin.
Your hands cup his face, and gathering all your courage, you press a soft kiss to his lips. But it’s over too quickly, and Sunghoon isn’t satisfied with just one. His hand finds the back of your neck, guiding you back into another kiss.
This time, it’s slow and lingering, full of quiet desire and the kind of happiness that only comes with finally having what you want.
When you pull back, your eyes stay locked on him. When Sunghoon's eyes open, you both start laughing like two teenagers in love.
“We’re so screwed,” Sunghoon murmurs, still grinning. “Your brother’s going to kill me.”
“We can figure that out later,” you tease, tugging gently on the his hair. “Can we go back to kissing?”
“Whatever you say, ma’am,” Sunghoon whispers, his lips chasing yours eagerly once again.
Happy that you are finally his, and he is finally yours.

never changing [ five hargreeves x reader ]
a/n: hi y’all! it’s been a hot minute since i’ve been on here, but after the absolute shit show that season 4 was, some sparks ignited in me to write up anything to take my mind off it 🙌
its not anything crazy, just fluff and banter since i haven’t written anything in years so it may be as poorly redacted as this season lmao
summary: five and y/n attend their niece birthday party together, yet separate
“Happy birthday, little Gracie!” You smiled widely, trying not to drop the wrapped present box as the six year old girl jumped into your arms, “Oh my gosh, look at you! You’re just getting prettier by day, aren’t you?”
You had just got off work in a hurry to make your appearance at the little girl’s birthday party at a decent time, in spite of the amount of paperwork you managed to bury yourself in lately. You knew how much it would have meant for the celebrated one to show up and you couldn’t bear to let her down, especially on her birthday.
After spending most of your life working for the Commission, and then a decent amount of time exhausting yourself in trying to stop multiple Apocalypses, your last six years have been pretty quiet as a lawyer. You really wanted to get out of the whole assassin thing, but at the same time couldn’t exactly move on from the thrill of the work field. Your career as a lawyer took off really well these past years, but inevitably it came along with the cost of always being stuck at work, so whenever your niece got the chance to see you, she was truly enthusiastic.
“Auntie Y/N!” She wrapped her tiny arms around your neck, engulfing you into a tight hug, “You are here!”
Nonetheless, these six years have been truly and undeniably the most peaceful time of your life for as long as you could remember.
“You literally saw each other the other day,” Five raised a brow, watching you and the celebrated one act as if you hadn’t seen each other in years.
You and the little girl shared a look, before rolling your eyes and turning to glare at the man next to you. Ever since Grace learned how to talk, you and her would gang up on her uncle for your amusement, especially since he was so keen on entertaining the banter.
These past six year have gone by in the blink of an eye, yet at the same time at a slow and steady pace. You spent most of your time working anyway, but still kept in touch with the seven siblings you’d grown to love.
Some in different ways than others.
“Uncle Five, you’re always more excited than me to see Aunt Y/N,” Gracie waved him off, making you burst out laughing, “Jealousy isn’t a good look on you anyway.”
“What is a good look on him anyway?” You smirked, making the little girl laugh, as Five swept her into his arms;
“Okay, munchkin, it’s your birthday today, but tomorrow I’m going back to bullying you,” He joked, causing you both to laugh, before the two shared a hug before you, “You’re lucky your gift has no return policy.”
The party had already started by the time you made it there. The playground was huddled by other kids around Grace’s age, along with their parents. The music was playing loudly over the laughter of children and you were pretty sure that most of the family had already arrived. It was not the most ideal gathering, but you tried your best to keep in touch with most of the family to your best capabilities.
“Y/N, I’m so glad you could make it!” Luther smiled, appearing from the crowd of guests, immediately giving you a big hug as his niece was still wrapped around Five, “Haven’t seen you since Thanksgiving!”
“Big shot lawyer doesn’t always have the time to stay in touch with family, huh?” Diego teased you, following suit, as you rolled your eyes, dropping off his daughter’s gift in his hands.
“Big shot delivery driver doesn’t know the phone works both ways, huh?” You smirked, putting your hands on your hips.
Diego laughed out loud as he gave you a hug, always in the mood for a back and forth short banter with you. After all, you truly were family, even if you didn’t always have the time to be present in the Hargreeves’ day to day lives. You may have met them in the original timeline in 2019, when you accidentally time traveled with your former partner at the Commission, Five, but after all you’ve been through, you didn’t need to have grown up together or be blood related to be considered that. And you truly were grateful for each and every single one of them, in spite of the many differences over the years.
After everything that’s happened six years ago at Hotel Oblivion, everyone went their separate ways. Allison was back with her daughter while trying to further her acting career and also help Klaus stay on the sober line, Viktor had moved to Canada where he opened a bar, Diego and Lila had three kids, Luther was “professionally dancing”, Ben had some run-ins with the law and Five, ironically enough, was working for the CIA.
“Well, you two are as annoying as always,” Ben told you and his brother, making Diego roll his eyes as he walked towards the gift table to set down your present.
“Please try to stay out of prison at least for the remainder of the year,” You joked with the man, making him roll his eyes as he hugged you loosely, “There’s only so much favors I could owe the DA.”
“Shut the fuck up,” Ben groaned, “I don’t even know why they let you work at the law firm since you still look like a prepubescent with no boobs. Even Five got a growth spurt.”
“I sized up to B recently, thank you very much,” You nudged his shoulder, before placing your hands on your chest in an offended manner.
“Okay, Gracie, not a conversation you’d wanna hear,” Five spoke up, putting his niece down, “Your aunt needs to learn some etiquette on how to act around children.”
“Funny coming from you,” You couldn’t help but wave him off.
You didn’t come in with Five at the party, but as fate had it, you did run into him as you were parking your car. He had just gone out to his brother’s dusty van to bring inside some more cookies for the guests. You kept in touch with him as well, but not as often as you would have liked. It’s not all that serious, but given the fact that you were a lawyer still climbing your way to the top and him being a top notch CIA agent, you didn’t exactly have the time to hang out.
At least, not as much as you’d have liked.
Five was watching you with a small smile tugging at the corner of his lips, and his hands in his pockets. He had the same look on his face as always when watching you. He had the same smile when he saw you in combat for the first time during your first mission for the Commission together, the same look in his eyes when you appeared for the first time in 2019 alongside him in your teen bodies. The same posture he had when he met you again in 1963 after months of not seeing each other.
He wore the same love on his face while looking at you when you and the siblings split up after the events at Oblivion.
And never once did you notice that.
Not once in these past six years you let your feelings surface.
“You know Grace is my niece too, right?” He couldn’t drop the small smile even if he wanted to.
“Since when are you such a family man?” You raised a brow, trying to keep a confident composure.
“Oh, something changed in me between the first and third time I traded the world for my siblings,” He lightly shrugged his shoulders, making you roll your eyes at the sarcastic remark.
You two never changed.
“Please, I was there for the twins birth,” You waved him off.
You rarely see Five, and even when you do you always try to act normal, as you do around the rest of the Hargreeves. Everyone tried to get you two together at first, since the apocalypse was over and there was no reason for you to not get together, right?
You really wished it was that easy. In hindsight, maybe it was. But you couldn’t take any chances in losing Five forever if something were to go wrong. Maybe some would see it as something stupid, or as if you wasted so many years, but to you- mentally, you were almost seventy, while physically nineteen. You had so much time ahead of you now, all that mattered was to get a stable career first.
Five let a chuckle escape, shaking his head in disbelief, as he looked at the floor for a couple of seconds. When he looked back at you, you tried to keep your composure. You couldn’t help but feel pathetic that after all these years, your heart still skipped a beat whenever he’d look at you.
“You’re doing that thing again where you forget that some other people are still around, guys,” Luther raised his hand, grabbing your attention once again.
“I got bored of watching seventy year old virgins,” Ben shrugged his shoulders, “I’m gonna go get shitfaced.”
“Always a delight seeing you, Benjamin,” Five said, as Luther followed the ex-tentacle boy suit to make re he was not about to actually get drunk;
“This is a six year old’s birthday party!”
You giggled, watching the two brothers speed away while arguing amongst the kids in the crowd. When your eyes laid back on Five, who was intently watching you, you couldn’t help but feel a small blush creep its way in your cheeks.
“What?”
“Nothing.”
“Spit it out, Hargreeves.”
“I said it’s nothing!”
“Fuck you.”
“Why?”
You watched him dumbfounded for a couple of seconds because of the only answer he could come up with, before walking away, hoping he would follow you.
When he did try to keep up with you, you looked away to hide the proud smile. Even after all these years, things were still the same with him. He was still so eager to spend time with you, he was still smiling at you and entertaining your conversation.
“Aunt Y/N, Uncle Five, come play in the ball pit!” Gracie ushered you from afar, already tucked in the plastic colorful balls.
“You heard the birthday girl!” You smiled, grabbing his hand to drag Five after you.
Even after all these years he would instantly lock his fingers with yours.

So this NOT to imply the writing is bad
But so far the Batfam fic as me genuinely shaking in anger , the fact that dick is convinced that y/n as to prove herself to be "worthy" genuinely got to me to the point I need a pallete cleanser
Could we please get a small drabble of reader growing close with one of the "outside" batfam members?
Like maybe Kate(batwoman) and Luke (batwing) because they are under used
Or hell, maybe to really grind the family gears, reader gets close to azrael
(you know Bruce would've able to do shit if reader got close with Kate, she would fucking eat him alive)
Hey, You're all good bro! I also just want to put out that my fic is based on an au! The portrayals of any characters in my fic are based off of their canon and fanon counterparts, just with my own twist. Since this is a darker universe/au, the Bats along with other heroes are going to be a lot more brutal and jaded.
Also love your idea bro. But, I'll do you one better. Constantine. Bruce absolutely can't stand him and the reader being friends with/getting along with him? Oh, that's bound to grind Bruce's gears. It would also be easier to meet Constantine too.
Let's just say one day the reader gets caught up in some Justice League Dark stuff that Constantine is trying to solve. She gets kidnapped by a cult that wants to use her as a sacrifice. I mean, she is a pretty huge target, being the daughter of a Billionaire after all. Anyways, shes kidnapped, nobody is coming to get her, not from her family at least. Long story short, Constantine arrives too late to stop the ritual, but things don't go according to plan for the cultists anyway. Turns out that the person sacrificed wouldn't be killed, but would instead become a vessel.
Great, now you have some old, eldrich being living rent-free in your mind. The being is old, donning the title "Keeper of Hell", but you'll just call it (they? him? her?), Adam. Yeah, Adam wasn't too happy with the name. When Constantine arrives, however, hes pleasantly surprised to find you alive. When he realizes that you, a 15-year-old, now carry the presence and power of an eldritch being older than Gotham itself, he groans while lighting up a cigarette. Looks like he'd have to deal with you now.
He checks over you making sure you have no internal and external injuries before explaining your situation. He feels a little sorry for you, but he is in no condition to train you. He asks around to other JL dark members, hoping to see if anyone is willing to help you control your new powers. He sighs again when nobody steps up to the plate, too busy with their own sidekicks and quests.
Reluctantly, he tells you he'd help you figure stuff out. And there begins the blossoming of the amazing "Grumpy old man and kid they didn't ask for" troupe. When you tell Constantine your name, he blanks, because of course he gets stuck with one of the bat's kids. However, based on your tone of voice when discussing your family (and the way you begged him not to let Bruce/Batman know of your predicament), he's guessing things aren't all too great between you all. Well, thats not his problem, his only job was to train you and make sure you don't end up accidentally killing someone.
Yeah...like that thought process is going to last. Training sessions start out bleak and professional, he's only doing a job. Then as time continues, he finds himself enjoying your company, your enthusiasm to learn and your rambunctious/sarcastic comebacks always have him fighting off a smile. It's been a while since he's had company like this. Soon, you're both going out on missions, and then ice cream breaks afterward. He lets you fall asleep on his shoulder, drooling all over his trench coat after particularly difficult missions and he can't bring himself to mind.
He's fond of you, although he never admits it out loud. It's okay though, because even though he's never said it out loud, his actions speak louder than words. You could feel his love and pride for you. Although he wasn't exactly your dad per se, he was still something to you, maybe the wine uncle? You don't know, and you don't particularly care to put a label on what Constantine was to you, you're just glad that he's there.
Shit hits the fan, however, when one day you decide to go on a solo mission. It's nothing crazy, just getting rid of some poltergeists and low-level demons and shades. Now, were you given permission to go on this mission alone? No, but in a normal teenage manner, you decide to go anyway. Everything was fine, you got rid of all the poltergeists in the area and even some of the shades too! It's all going well until you realize that the demon mentioned before was not as weak as you were told. You gulped when its blood red eyes turned to you.
"Well shit." Constantine was going to kill you.
It immediately lunges at you, you barely rolling out of its sharp claws. You hit it with a couple of spells, causing the demon to roar out in pain, burn marks now littering its side. Its tail whips at you, colliding with your stomach as you fly into a wall with a loud thud. You groan as you pick yourself up, clutching your ribs, each breath a jagged pain that ripples through your chest. Your arm is slick with blood, the gashes from the demon's claws burning as if its very essence were trying to sear your flesh. You grit your teeth and weave another spell, calling on Adam’s power to knock the demon back. This time, a burst of raw energy slams into it, shattering its leg with a sickening crack.
For a brief moment, you think it's over, ready to strike the final blow. But the demon’s leg snaps back into place, bone and flesh knitting together as if the injury had never happened.
“Of course,” you mutter under your breath. “Why would this be easy?”
The demon lunges again, and you’re just a split second too slow. Burning pain flares through your right arm as its claws tear into you, ripping through your flesh like paper. You scream, the sound involuntary, but you push through the pain, refusing to go down without a fight.
Drawing back, you unleash another spell, a sharp projectile of energy aimed at its neck. The demon flinches, letting out a low growl. That reaction—panic—gives you the first glimmer of hope. Its neck. That's its weak spot.
With renewed determination, you gather every ounce of strength you have left. The cuts across your body throb, and your arm feels like it’s on fire, but you push it all aside. You can do this. You have to do this.
You unleash a volley of cutting spells, each one aimed at the demon’s throat. It fights back viciously, throwing you around the room with a strength that makes your vision blur. Every hit you take feels like your bones are splintering, but you keep going. You keep attacking.
Finally, one of your spells strikes true.
The demon lets out a gurgling screech as your spell cuts deep into its neck. Blood—thick and dark—pours from the wound, and it claws at its own throat, choking. Its body spasms violently, and then, as if collapsing in on itself, it begins to disintegrate. In a few seconds, all that’s left is dust.
You stand there, panting, barely able to process the fact that you did it. You won. A grin spreads across your face, and despite the pain radiating from every part of your body, you let out a weak cheer.
But the celebration is short-lived.
Pain cuts through you like a knife, sharp and sudden, reminding you of just how battered you are. Blood is still oozing from the various gashes across your body, and your arm feels like it’s hanging by a thread. You stumble, nearly falling, but catch yourself at the last second.
“Crap… I’m bleeding out,” you mumble, wincing. “Whoops.”
With what little energy you have left, you remember the spell Constantine taught you, the one that would tether you to him no matter where you were. He warned you not to use it unless it was an emergency—and bleeding out from demon-inflicted wounds definitely qualifies.
You lift your shaking hand and cast the spell, a sluggish flick of your wrist sending out a ripple of energy. A portal forms, shimmering and unstable, but functional enough. Without much grace, you stumble through it, disappearing from the demon’s lair.
What you didn’t know, however, was that Constantine was currently in a Justice League meeting.
The first thing you feel is a sudden drop, like the ground beneath you has vanished. You barely register the sensation of falling before you crash, hard, onto something solid. Groaning, you blink through the haze of pain and find yourself sprawled across a massive table.
You can hear voices—muffled, alarmed—but the world is spinning too much for you to focus. All you know is that you're lying on something cold and hard, and you’re absolutely drenched in blood.
Forcing your eyes open, you see several figures standing around you, staring in shock. Your vision is blurry, but you can make out Superman’s cape and Wonder Woman’s armor. You try to process what's happening, but the pain in your arm and ribs keeps pulling you under.
"Ow, ow, ow, ow. Fuckkkk." You cry out.
Suddenly, the scent of smoke fills the air. You don't even have to look to know who it is. Constantine’s familiar trench coat brushes against your arm as he crouches beside you, cigarette dangling loosely from his lips. His eyes flicker with a dangerous mix of exasperation and barely concealed anger.
“What in the bloody fuck, kid?” he snaps, his tone harsher than usual, but the concern underlies his words.
You wince, the situation hitting you all at once. Crap. Now I've got to deal with this.
You muster a weak, sheepish grin, wincing as you turn your head to face him. “Heyyy Constantine, how are ya?”
His brow furrows deeper, and he’s clearly not amused. “What did you do?”
You swallow hard, trying to think of how to explain yourself without getting ripped to shreds—verbally or otherwise. “I—well, promise you won’t get mad?”
“Too late for that, kid. I’m already halfway there,” he growls, his eyes narrowing as he looks over your wounds. “Now get to it.”
You bite your lip, trying to find the least disastrous way to explain. “So… I sorta… mighta… gone on a solo demon-hunting mission,” you blurt out quickly, hoping he’d just move past it.
The way Constantine’s eyes widen, and the immediate twitch in his jaw tell you that he’s definitely not going to move past it.
“You did what?!” His voice rises as he stands up, rubbing a hand over his face. “Oh bloody— I thought I specifically told you not to go by yourself! And this is what happens!”
“Hey, well, I’m alive, aren’t I?” you say, grinning nervously, trying to play it off.
“That’s besides the point!” He throws his arms up, pacing as he takes a long drag from his cigarette. “Bloody hell, I should’ve known better with you kids. I swear, this is why I never—”
Just then, a dark, grim voice cuts through the chaos, and your heart nearly stops.
“Constantine,” Batman’s tone is low, authoritative. “Why is my daughter bleeding on our table?”
Oh no. No, no, no. Not now.
You freeze, your mind going blank as you feel the weight of Batman’s presence at the end of the table. You slowly, painfully turn your head to see him standing there, cape draped over his shoulders, his gaze icy and locked onto you. His usual stoic expression somehow looks even more intense.
“Ah… shit,” you mutter under your breath, groaning inwardly as you realize you’ve just landed yourself in the absolute worst situation imaginable. “I completely forgot he was still here.” Wait, did you say that out loud?
Constantine gives you a sidelong glance, raising an eyebrow. “Yes, kid, you did. And now we’ve got more than just your wounds to worry about, don’t we?” He sighs deeply, rubbing his temples, already anticipating the fallout.
Batman’s eyes narrow, arms crossed as he takes a step closer to you, his voice low and dangerous. “Care to explain yourself?”
You’re still bleeding, your head is pounding, and you’re pretty sure at least a few bones are broken, but none of that compares to the fear creeping up your spine as you look up at your father. Your mind races for an answer, but every excuse you can think of feels flimsy at best.
Constantine clears his throat, sensing the rising tension in the room. “Right. Let’s get her fixed up before this turns into an interrogation, yeah? Kid’s bleeding all over the place, and she’s already taken a beating. We’ll save the lecture for later.” He waves his hand, muttering something under his breath as he kneels beside you again.
The tension between Constantine and Batman lingers in the air, thick and heavy, but Batman finally relents. His eyes soften—slightly—as he watches Constantine work to stabilize your injuries with magic.
You can feel yourself growing weaker, the adrenaline finally wearing off as the pain becomes unbearable. Constantine mutters a healing spell, one that slows the bleeding and knits some of the less serious cuts together. It's not perfect, but it’s enough for now.
“I think it’s time to get you all fixed up, huh?” Constantine says softly, his earlier anger tempered by concern as he helps you sit up, his hand firm on your back to support you.
You nod weakly, not daring to meet Batman’s eyes again. You’re in deep trouble, but for now, at least, you’re still breathing. As Constantine gets ready to teleport you to a safer place to heal, you hear Batman’s voice, calm but steely.
“We’re not done here.”
And with that ominous promise hanging in the air, Constantine picks you up, and the world around you shifts once again.
Constantine gently carries you through the halls toward the Justice League’s med bay, muttering curses under his breath with every step. You could feel his frustration radiating off him, and now, in the quiet aftermath of the fight, guilt begins to settle in your chest. The adrenaline from the battle has worn off, and now you're left with the consequences of your reckless actions.
“Hey, Constantine… I—I’m sorry for not listening to you. I really am,” you say, your voice soft and heavy with regret.
He sighs, not looking at you, but his tone is stern. “I’m not going to lie and say I’m not mad at you, kid. You didn’t just ignore my warnings—you put yourself in danger. There are rules for a reason. What if you got seriously hurt and couldn’t cast a spell back to me? Even worse, what if you died or got possessed?”
His words hit you hard, and you wither under the weight of them. You know he’s right. All those rules and restrictions aren’t just him being overprotective or controlling, they’re because he cares. He’s seen the kind of darkness that can swallow people whole, and the thought of that happening to you terrifies him, even if he’ll never say it out loud.
By the time you reach the med bay, the guilt feels like it’s pressing down on you as much as the pain in your ribs. Constantine lowers you onto a cot, tucking you in with a gruff gentleness that only he could pull off. He sits down on the side of the bed, pulling out a cigarette and lighting it with a quick flick of his fingers, his eyes never leaving yours.
“What I’m trying to say, kid,” he starts, exhaling a cloud of smoke, “is that I care. I care about you, I care about what happens to you. I don’t want—” He pauses, his voice softening. “I don’t want to ever have to find your body one day. So please, from now on, let me know before you do something stupid like this.”
His words hang in the air, raw and unfiltered. You nod, trying to process it all, and then something clicks in your mind. Wait… did he just say let him know?
“Let you know? Does this mean—” Your eyes widen as realization hits you. “Does this mean I can go on solo missions?”
Constantine lets out a resigned sigh. “Yes, yes, you can start going on solo missions—”
“Hell yeah!” you exclaim, sitting up a little too quickly. Pain shoots through your ribs, but you can’t help the excitement bubbling inside you.
“—but, only the ones I sanction and authorize,” Constantine finishes, cutting through your excitement with a stern look. You deflate a little at his words, but it’s still a victory in your book.
Without thinking, you throw your arms around him, ignoring the sharp pain it causes in your ribs. “Oh, thank you, thank you, thank you! I promise I won’t let you down!”
He chuckles, patting your back awkwardly before pulling away. “Yeah, yeah, I know you won’t. Now, lay back down and get some rest. You still have dark and brooding to deal with.” He gestures toward the direction of the meeting room, clearly dreading the inevitable confrontation with Batman. “And by extension, I do too,” he adds with a heavy sigh.
You groan, sinking back into the cot, the exhaustion finally catching up with you. “I don’t know why he even cares. If he did, he would’ve figured this out ages ago.”
Constantine glances at you, his expression softening for a moment. He takes a long drag of his cigarette before speaking. “He cares, kid. He just… doesn’t always show it the way you want him to. Doesn’t mean he doesn’t feel it.”
You scoff, though part of you knows he’s right. “Yeah, well, doesn’t feel like it.”
Constantine stands, taking one last drag of his cigarette before flicking it into a nearby ashtray. “Doesn’t matter how it feels right now. The Bat’s going to want answers, and if I know him, he’s going to want to have a very long talk with you. You’re not out of the woods yet.”
You wince at the thought of the upcoming conversation, knowing that Batman’s interrogation will be thorough and far less forgiving than Constantine’s.
“Great,” you mutter, closing your eyes and sinking deeper into the cot. “Just what I need.”
Constantine gives you a small, almost affectionate smile before turning to leave. “Get some rest, kid. You’ve earned it. I’ll deal with the big bad Bat for now.”
And with that, he walks out, leaving you alone in the med bay. As much as you’re dreading what’s to come, you can’t help but feel a sense of relief. Despite the pain and the mistakes you made, you know that Constantine’s got your back. And, maybe, just maybe, Batman does too, even if it’s buried under a mountain of brooding and silence.
For now, though, you let the exhaustion pull you under, trusting that everything else can wait until tomorrow.
-
As you rest, your body finally succumbing to the exhaustion, your breathing evens out and your mind drifts into sleep. The med bay is quiet, sterile, but the tension in the air lingers, waiting for the inevitable. Eventually, a dark, caped figure glides into the room silently, his form casting long shadows across the walls.
Batman—no, Bruce—stands over you, his sharp eyes tracing every bruise, every cut that mars your face. His jaw clenches as a million thoughts swirl in his head, none of them offering any comfort.
What the hell happened to you? Why are you and Constantine so close? How did you even know Constantine? How much had he missed—how little attention had he been paying—to not notice any of this?
Bruce sighs, a deep and frustrated sound. He removes his cowl, setting it on the side table with a weary hand. Without it, he seems less intimidating, less imposing. He stares down at you, seeing the cuts and bruises marking your skin, but what hits him harder is the way your face, in sleep, is still so achingly young. You're his daughter, and yet it feels like you're a stranger to him now.
How did you get so far away?
He knows the answer. The fault lies with him, with the choices he made, the excuses he repeated to himself—telling himself he was too busy, telling himself he would check in later. Later never came, though, and the space between you widened, until it wasn't just him you were drifting away from, but your brothers too.
Bruce noticed the way your brothers treated you, the harsh words, the cold shoulders. He saw the distance, but he justified it, telling himself it was sibling rivalry or something that would pass. He didn't step in. And now, as he looks at you lying there, bruised and battered from a fight he wasn’t even aware of, the reality sinks in: he has no excuse.
With a heavy sigh, Bruce reaches out, his rough but careful hand carding gently through your hair. The gesture is tender, hesitant, as if he's not sure whether he has the right to touch you like this anymore. But as his fingers comb through your hair, you stir in your sleep, a quiet murmur escaping your lips as you unconsciously lean into his touch. It's such a sweet, innocent moment, and for a brief second, Bruce allows himself to feel the warmth of it.
But the moment is fleeting.
He feels the presence before he sees it, the unmistakable smell of cigarette smoke filling the room. His jaw tightens as his hand stills. He doesn’t turn right away, but his voice cuts through the silence.
“Constantine,” Bruce says, his tone gruff even without the cowl to disguise it.
Constantine steps into the room more fully, leaning against the wall, a half-smoked cigarette between his lips. He regards Bruce with that same nonchalance he carries everywhere, though there's a flicker of something else in his eyes—something more cautious.
"Thought you’d still be brooding over in the corner," Constantine says, taking a drag of his cigarette. His eyes drift to you, lying peacefully on the cot. “Didn’t expect to see this version of you.”
Bruce doesn’t respond right away. He pulls his hand back from your hair, his gaze hardening. "What happened?" The question is direct, but underneath it, Constantine can hear the concern, the frustration Bruce doesn't voice aloud.
"She went off on her own," Constantine mutters, taking another drag before blowing out a cloud of smoke. "Went after a demon. Got roughed up pretty bad, but she handled it in the end. Strong kid. Stubborn too. Wonder where she gets that from, eh?"
Bruce's eyes narrow. "And you let her?"
"Let her?" Constantine laughs, a short, sharp sound. "Mate, I didn’t let her. She went behind my back, just like she’s gone behind yours for who knows how long. Difference is, I’m the one she actually came back to.”
That lands like a punch to Bruce's gut. He doesn’t react visibly, but Constantine can see the tension in his posture.
"I didn't know she was…" Bruce starts, then stops, shaking his head. The words feel inadequate. "I didn't know she was involved with this stuff, i didn't even know she was a meta. Or that she knew you."
"Yeah, well, she found her way to me," Constantine says with a shrug, stubbing out his cigarette on the wall. “And she's not a meta by the way, she's a vessel for some eldritch being"
A vague expression of surprise appears on Bruce's face.
"I don't blame you, mate. I was surprised to find her alive afterwards. Not just anyone survives that kind of transformation, she's strong.”
Bruce crosses his arms, his gaze flickering between you and Constantine. “I know she’s strong.”
“Do you?” Constantine raises an eyebrow, the challenge clear in his tone. “Because she’s been running herself ragged trying to prove it. To you. To herself. And, hell, maybe to me too, but at least I see it.”
There’s silence for a moment. Bruce clenches his jaw, turning to look at you again, sleeping soundly despite the tension in the room. He knew Constantine was right. You'd been pushing yourself, fighting to show that you didn’t need them—that you were strong enough on your own. And he had let you. He'd let you because he didn't even care to notice.
Constantine sighs, sensing the weight of the silence. “Look, I didn’t come here to throw stones. But you’ve got to get your shit together with her. She’s tough, but she’s still a kid, and she’s your kid. She needs you.”
Bruce doesn’t answer, but his silence speaks volumes. He watches you, the soft rise and fall of your chest, and feels the regret gnawing at him.
“I’ll handle it,” Bruce finally says, though the words feel hollow.
Constantine gives him a long look, then nods. “You better. Because if you don’t, she’ll be right back with me..”
With that, Constantine pushes off the wall, flicking away the last of his cigarette. “I’ll check in on her later. Try not to fuck this up, mate.” And with one last glance at you, Constantine leaves, the tension in the room ebbing with him.
Bruce remains, standing over you, his mind a whirlwind of regret, guilt, and the desire to fix what’s been broken for far too long. He leans down, pressing a gentle kiss to your forehead—something he hasn’t done in what feels like years—before stepping back, pulling the chair beside your bed to sit vigil over you.
He’s still not sure how to bridge the gap, but for now, he stays. It’s a start.
Well, thats all folks! I really enjoyed writing this au, so thanks for the idea! Maybe ill even make a pt. 2 to this? Who knows? Anyways, I hope you enjoyed it.

₊˚ෆ FALSE GOD

author's note: this is not a goodbye, but take it as a see you soon writing.
part 2 (coming soon if it’s well received)
gojo satoru
He's been annoying you the whole morning while trying to coach the kids on their training– slapping his hand away everytime it lowers down from your lower back and giving him a glaring look.
Both of you talked about this. Not letting his high sex drive come across work, and mostly in front of his students. He looked like a lost puppy, searching for attention and someone to relieve his needs.
“Gojo. Stop it–” You pushed his hand away from you, looking back to see if someone else noticed what’s going on. “But I can’t princess, I need you right now~” He whined in your ear, he was about to throw a tantrum if you continued neglecting him this way. It’s been two weeks without sex, can you believe it? Two weeks! He prefers fighting Mahito’s annoying ass again on his own rather than pass one day without inside you.
“It’s not the time right now– and I'm not in the mood either.”
Okay. First of all he knew you weren’t too into sex, and he accepted it! He respected your boundaries, and he didn’t only want you for the sex, he loved you for who you are! But the way you said his last name instead of his first name, and looking like you were about to slap him turned him on even more.
He wouldn’t stop whining and throwing tantrums for your touch, opting for dismissing the class early so they could go to sleep or wherever, it’s weekend anyways.
Both of you sat in silence in his office. Waiting for someone to break the tense silence thanks to him— and he was about to do it, but the moment your mouth opened his mind got in control of your sweet voice.
“Get up and take your pants off. Briefs too-” His eyes light up like a kid when receiving a lollipop for behaving like a good boy he is. He took off his shirt too, feeling like it was drowning him and taking the air out of him because this was the first time you were really taking control over all this.
“Sit.” He did as you said, his cock proudly standing tall and full of cum to dump wherever you wanted him too. But he wasn’t too lucky this time, because the moment you stepped closer to him and his desk, searching for one of his blindfolds he usually leaves there– you kneeled down infront of his, massaging his hard balls that made him moan out loud– taking them in one hand, they were heavy. His blindfold was around them, in a knot– tighten them.
The moment you started jerking off he knew he wouldn’t come as easy as he would. It was wet, really wet– and all thanks to his pre-cum leaving his cock, he was begging for release, he couldn’t come, literally and physically. It was impeding him from cumming, it felt ten times worse than not having your touch– He had it now, but at what cost?
“Aw, look at those blue balls!” You laughed in front of him and slightly slapped the red swollen head of his cock– he was crying, he never did. But it felt so good but it hurt so much at the same time. You took off the blindfold, cum coming out like a big wave, wetting his abdomen, part of his chest and your neck too. His moan almost sounded like a scream, cries and nervous laughs coming out of him– He came but you continued jerking him off, this time overstimulating him instead of edging him– He doesn’t know what was worse. Coherent words were long lost, babbling out trying to stop himself but he couldn’t move himself, way too lost in the pleasure to be able to stop you.
“Let’s see if you can atleast last a week without acting like a fucking horny virgin bitch this time mhm?, let’s make you cum again just to make sure, yeah?”
geto suguru
Geto is a morning wood guy. And he knows you have a low libido, actually Suguru is the only one you’ve sex with.
“I’m scared of dicks ´guru” You whispered, kneeled down in front of him, you were at his dorm, it was 11 P.M and you decided to lose your virginity to Geto assuring he’s the one and you’ve never felt safe in someone else’s arms– he chuckled and looked at you with loving eyes– one of his hands caressed your cheek, “How are you going to be afraid of dicks and want to suck me off at the same time princess? Mhm?”
He laughed at himself at the memory, now you were 6 years together and he’s eager to know how your life is going to be with him, having a wedding, getting a house together, making you pregnant… full of him, shit. This is not helping with the main problem right now.
He’s a decent man. At least that’s what he thinks about himself– he’s not horny all the time like Satoru. Maybe that’s his form of love language? Satoru is a weird ass anyways– he thinks to himself while scrunching his eyebrows together, –stop thinking about him Suguru!, it’s going to make you puke instead of helping the problem… He was looking at the ceiling of your room while you’re sleeping right beside him. He doesn’t want to wake you up, you deserve to have a nice and comfortable sleep.
But the pain down there is not going anywhere, not even with a cold shower. He knows to identify his morning woods– living with them for his whole life, I guess. Unconsciously one of his hands is now touching himself through his boxers making him moan, his free hand quickly covering his mouth and looking to his side to find you still sleeping.
He swears he’s about to slap himself to stop this and suck it up, but he feels your hand stopping him. “Are you okay baby?, I heard something and I thought you hurt yourself or something.”
Oh my god… How could you be so… pure? So perfect for him, always making sure he’s okay, your sleepy voice sounding deeper than your normal voice… His shirt is way too big for you that he swears if he moves his head a little higher he could see your nipples. Shit Suguru, you turned it sexual again!
Should he just… ask you? beg you? beg and cry for some release? Would he sound as horny as a teenager? This problem should be for teenagers! Not for a grown ass man like him!
“Um… I might just had a little problem down there”
“Might? Little?”
His flushed face was cute, his body was fully uncovered by the blankets, leaving him with his chest exposed and a clear wet patch on his boxers.
“C’mon baby, let me help you” He called out your name, trying to stop you the moment you placed your hand on the elastic of his underwear— in one swift motion you freed his cock, catching a glance of how swollen it was due the negligence of the past weeks.
The moment Suguru felt the cold breeze on him, he came.
He fucking came with no touch.
Damn embarrassing.
“Aw, cute. Want me to suck you off?”
nanami kento
You haven’t rushed things with Nanami yet. Both of you were such a cute couple that made people gag.
He’s amazing, not like any other boys you have met before, he treated you nice, spoiled you and mostly respected you– in a world of boys, he’s a gentleman.
He’s such a hard working guy, such an inspiration, so committed to both of his works that you tell him if you ever get married you’ll be the best housewife he could ever have because he deserves it.
But one thing about Nanami is that he keeps things to himself. Just like the boner he has right now by imagining you being his little housewife. He really needs to leave this office right now and relieve some… stress.
The last weeks have been hard for him, naturally affecting your relationship with him. He was always tired, even more earnest and quiet. You know he’s bad at telling what he feels, and he’s always stressed by something– but you have never seen him like this. Like ever.
When he tries to distress himself he just keeps failing over and over again, not being enough and having to suck it up and continue his day with a hard poking erection most likely visible in his pants. That’s why he remains seated most of the time.
But one day he went to your house after work. It was impossible to not notice his erection even when he’s trying to hide with his briefcase or on the sofa.
“Take your pants off Kento.” You’re not a big fan of sex, Nanami knows that, he hasn’t even had sex with you before! So this caught him by surprise, the red on his cheeks spanding through his neck.
“E-excuse me? I’m sorry, what honey?”
“You heard me, take your pants off.” He’s seated on your sofa– unloosened tie, two or three bottoms of his shirt undone, messy hair, in his socks but that damn thing was literally capable of breaking his pants if it didn’t have some release.
He slowly started unbuckling his pants, losing his mental battle and accepting what he needed, and if you were willing to do it, all he could do is take it– but dear god, it was even worse.
All you would do is touch him. Through his briefs. Just the feeling of your fingers through them. Touching the tip was the worst part.
And he couldn’t believe that the most simple touch is capable of making him cum with just your fingers than him raming and jerking off the hardest he has ever tried.

omg hear me out!!! the witch reader and mark and what happens when they casted a truth spell on them ?! like imagine the whole day, it’s just mark rambling about his deepest thoughts, no matter how silly and reader just like “good to know he really loves me” (also loveee your writing during this invincible fic drought)
Ooooh this is such a good request!! I can already imagine Mark just rambling non-stop while Reader is loving every second of it lol💖

You were at your desk, carefully enchanting a small charm meant to improve focus when Mark walked in. Still wearing his Invincible suit, dirt smudged across his cheek.
“What’s that?” he asked. Peering over your shoulder.
“Just a simple focusing spell” you said. “WAIT DONT TOUCH IT”
But of course, Mark’s curiosity was stronger than your warning. Before you could stop him, he reached out, touching the crystal. The glow flared bright, warm, and Mark blinked rapidly.
“Huh” he said. “Weird. I feel like I need to talk.”
You stared at him. “Talk about what?”
“I dunno” Mark shrugged. “Like I noticed how you changed your shampoo and your hair smells amazing. And how cute you look when you’re concentrating.. Oh…oh no, what the–”
You bit your lip, stifling a giggle. “I think you may have triggered a truth spell.”
“A what now?” Mark asked, looking horrified.
“A truth spell,” you repeated, trying not to grin. “It makes you say whatever’s on your mind.”
“Okay,” Mark said carefully. “Okay, that’s… fine. I just won’t talk.” Slapping a hand over his mouth.
That lasted ten seconds before he groaned loudly.
“God, you’re so pretty,” he blurted, hands still over his face. “Like, unfair levels of pretty. It’s distracting sometimes. Like, one time last week I was thinking about your smile during a fight and I nearly got punched in the face. Oh my god, I’m still talking.”
Mark whined, pacing around the room. “I think about kissing you like every five seconds! And you know what’s worse? Sometimes I practice what I’m gonna say to you in the mirror because I don’t wanna sound like a dork. But guess what? I sound like a dork anyway!”
“No wonder you take so long in the bathroom,” you grinned.
“Oh my god,” Mark muttered. “I’m gonna die.”
You tried to reverse the spell, but it lingered far longer than intended. Throughout the day, Mark’s nonstop rambling followed you everywhere. Even when he was flying you home after a mission, he was still at it. “you smell nice, that one time you wore my hoodie, I didn’t wash it for like a week because it smelled like you”
“Mark!”
“I seriously don’t get how you make magic look so easy,” Mark said, voice a little softer this time. “Like, you’re just... amazing. Even when I’m having a bad day, just being around you makes it better. And sometimes I feel like you don’t know how incredible you are. I wanna tell you every single time I see you, but I don’t wanna annoy you. So I just shut up about it but now I can’t shut up about it and… I really love you, okay?”
The words hit you harder than you expected. For once, Mark’s voice was quiet. Sincere. Raw.
“You mean that?” you asked softly.
“I can’t lie right now,” he said with a lopsided smile.
Finally, you managed to break the spell and Mark lets out a loud sigh of relief, immediately covering his face.
“I’m never showing my face again,” he mumbled. You leaned forward. Pressing a kiss to his cheek.
“Why? I kinda liked hearing how much you love me.”
“I’m never gonna live this down,” Mark groaned.
“Nope,” you smiled. “Not a chance.”

OPPOSITE ATTRACT (SECRETLY OF COURSE)

synopsis — you and bakugo’s personality are the total opposite and no one would expect you guys to ever be friends until…
word count — 1.1k
a/n — BAKUGO IS SO FINE LIKE I WAS DYING WRITING THIS. I LOVE HIM SM LIKECJEJFJJS. anyways
The common room of Class 1-A was filled with energy, as it often was after a long day of classes. The girls had claimed one corner of the room, lounging on the couches and chatting away as they were talking about boys and their types.
“I think Kirishima is cute,” Mina mused, swinging her legs over the couch armrest. “He’s got that golden retriever personality, you know?”
“He’s definitely charming,” Hagakure giggled.
Ochacco tilted her head. “What about you y/n? Any crushes?”
y/n, the kind-hearted sweetheart of the class, smiled softly. “I don’t really know.. I guess I like someone strong but caring deep down.”
Asui blinked. “Ribbit. That’s a pretty broad answer.”
Before y/n could elaborate, the boy’s voices echoed from the other side of the living room. They were being their usual loud selves, Kirishima, Kaminari, Tokoyami, and of course, Bakugo.
Kirishima heard the girl’s conversation before suddenly turned to Bakugo with a sly grin. “Hey, Bakugo, what’s your type?”
The room fell silent. Everyone knew Bakugo was not the type to entertain such conversations, which is exactly who Kirishima had asked, just to get a rise out of him.
“Oi! What kinda dumbass question is that!?” Bakugo’s voice immediately exploded through the air.
Kaminari snickered. “C’mon, man, we’re just curious.”
“Tch. As if I’d waste my time thinking about crap like that,” Bakugo scoffed, folding his arms, His face had taken on the slightest tinge of red, but he masked it with an aggressive scowl.
From the girls’ corner, y/n giggled. She wasn’t even trying to hide it. Bakugo’s annoyed reactions was just too funny.
That did not go unnoticed. Bakugo’s crimson eyes snapped to her, narrowing suspiciously.
“The hell are you laughing at?” he growled.
y/n shocked her head, still smiling. “Nothing, nothing!”
But the damage had already been done. Mina and Kirishima immediately locked eyes with each other, their expressions screaming, suspicious.
-
Later that night, Mina and Kirishima crouched behind the corner of the hallway, whispering excitedly.
“Okay, tell me you saw that,” Mina said. “y/n laughed at Bakugo’s reaction. That’s weird.”
Kirishima grinned. “And Bakugo actually reacted to her. That’s even weirder.”
They had been low-key theorizing about Bakugo and y/n for weeks. Sure, they never interacted much in public, but there was something off about how Bakugo didn’t seem to direct his usual rage at y/n. And that giggle? That was their confirmation.
So, when they saw y/n quietly slipping out of her dorm room and tiptoeing toward Bakugo’s, they had to investigate.
“Okay, let’s wait a few minutes, then bam! We barge in,” Mina whispered.
Kirishima nodded. “If we die, it was an honor.”
Mina smirked. “We’re heroes in training, we’ll be fine.”
-
The Class 1-A dorms had settled into a quiet hum for the night. Most of the students were relaxing in their rooms, some playing games, other studying, and a few, like Mina and Kirishima, engaging in questionable activities.
y/n on the other hand, had other plans.
She tiptoed down the hallway, hand gripping the hem of her hoodie as she scanned the area. The last thing she needed was for someone to see her sneaking in his room. Though, knowing her luck, someone — Mina and Kirishima most likely was already watching.
Reaching Bakugo’s door, she raised a delicate fist and knocked twice. No answer. Not unusual.
Rolling her eyes with a soft smile, she carefully turned the knob, it was never locked for her. The door creaked open just enough for her to slip inside before closing it behind her.
The moment she entered, the atmosphere shifted.
Katsuki Bakugo lay sprawled across his bed, one arm lazily tucked behind his head while the other draped over his stomach. His ash-blond hair was messier than usual, and his uniform jacket was discarded on his desk chair, leaving him in his black t-shirt and black sweats.
At the sound of the door shutting, his crimson eyes lazily flickered open.
“You took forever,” he grumbled.
Y/N let out a breathy laugh, walking over to his bed. “You didn’t even answer the door.”
“Didn’t feel like moving.”
She shook her head fondly before settling onto the bed beside him. The second she did, Bakugo wasted no time. With a low grunt, he shifted closer, wrapping his arms around her waist and pulling her down onto the mattress with him.
“You’re clingy tonight,” Y/N mused, her fingers instinctively threading through his messy hair.
He only grumbled, nuzzling into the warmth of her shoulder. “Tch. Shut up.”
She giggled, the vibration of her laughter making him hum in satisfaction. They stayed like that for a while. Bakugo was completely relaxed, his breathing steady, his grip firm but comforting. This was a side of him no one else saw.
During school hours, he acted as if she barely existed. But in moments like these, when it was just the two of them, he couldn’t keep his hands off her.
“You laughed at me today,” he muttered suddenly, voice muffled against her hoodie.
Y/N blinked, then smiled. “Because you were funny.”
He huffed, pulling her even closer. “Dumbass.”
She rolled her eyes playfully but made no move to push him away. She liked this side of him, this soft, vulnerable, needy side. And no matter how gruff he tried to sound, she could hear the underlying plea in his voice when he mumbled.
“Shut up and stay here.”
Y/N hummed, running her fingers soothingly along his scalp. “I wasn’t going anywhere.”
It was peaceful. Too peaceful.
-
Outside the door, Mina and Kirishima crouched low, exchanging glances at each other with excitement.
“Okay,” Mina whispered. “This confirms it.”
Kirishima nodded. “They have to be dating.”
“Or at least something.” Mina’s grin widened. “Now, we need proof.”
The two waited a few more moments, letting the suspense build. Then
BAM!
The door slammed open.
“OH. MY. GOD,” Mina screeched, her phone already raised.
Click! Click!
Kirishima doubled over in wheezing laughter. “DUDE! YOU’RE SO CLINGY!”
Bakugo shot up immediately, his entire face exploding into a furious shade of red.
“YOU DAMN EXTRAS!!!”
Mina howled with laughter, waving her phone like a trophy. “I GOT PICTURES! THIS IS GOLD!”
“DELETE THEM, YOU PINK HAIRED GREMLIN!” Bakugo roared, lunging off the bed.
Mina screamed, scrambling out of the room at lightning speed, Kirishima hot on her heels.
“RUN, RUN, RUN!” Kirishima yelled between bouts of laughter.
Bakugo exploded after them, quite literally, his hands sparking as he chased them down the hall. The dorms erupted into chaos, doors creaked open as confused classmates peered out, blinking at the spectacle of Bakugo launching himself after Mina and Kirishima, his furious shouts echoing through the building.
y/n, who walked out of the room, covered her mouth as she burst into laughter.
So much for their little secret.

just a fight (b.c)

hello!! it's been an extremely long time since i've posted any fics on here (or written them)! but i finally got the inspiration to write one for our lovely chris 🤭 i saw a tik tok from the new album intro and came up with this idea. i hope you all like it 🥰
feedback is greatly appreciated 🥰
It's about the fourth time in an hour that Chris has checked his phone, the frown on his lips staying there as there's still no texts from you. He releases a sigh before attempting to refocus on the task at hand; recording.
The two of you have been in an argument for the past two days. Longest time the two of you have spent angry at one another. You didn't argue often, so Chris is becoming a bit panicked when you don't text him on the third day.
“Hyung,” Changbin's voice snaps Chris from his thoughts, turning in his chair to face the younger member. “Is everything okay? I've never seen you this spaced out.”
Chris provides a fake smile, going to reassure him that everything is okay when his phone vibrates. He picks it up immediately, his heart dropping a bit when it's not you. He swipes away the notification without any thought, not really in the mood to converse with anyone.
“I'm okay, I guess,” he mumbles, setting his phone back on the desk. “Uhm, Y/N and I had an argument three days ago and…” Chris trails off, biting his lip to stop himself from crying.
“Have you tried calling?” Changbin asks, motioning for the other staff to give them a minute alone.
Chris blankly stares at the computer screen, moving the mouse around idly. “I get sent to voicemail,” he tells Changbin, not moving his gaze once.
“I'll try calling. This can't go on any longer. You can't work like this,” Changbin sighs, standing up from the couch. The younger member pulls his phone out of his pocket, finding your contact before calling your number.
Chris can hear the phone ringing, his heart beginning to beat a million miles a minute in his chest.
“Bin?” Your voice comes through the receiver, causing Chris to gasp lightly. He finally looks over towards Changbin, seeing him hold his phone out.
Take the phone. He motions, holding the device out to him. Chris hesitantly takes the phone as you continue to call out for Changbin.
“Y/N?” Chris calls out your name just after Changbin leaves the studio. He can hear your breath hitch at the sound of his voice, and he begins to think you might hang up. “B-Before you hang up… can we talk? Please?”
Silence fills the space as he waits for your reply. He swallows the lump in his throat, wondering if he's fucked up one of the good things in his hectic life.
“I'm really sorry, y'know? I've always had the habit of keeping shit to myself. You can ask the guys,” he starts to apologize, staring at your contact name. “I was doing really well on keeping you in tabs of everything, but these past few weeks have been pretty stressful. And, I know that's not a great excuse, but being cooped up in the studio hours on end has brought me back to my old ways. I should've told you what's been going on, but I promise, if you don't leave me that I'll change. I don't want to lose you.”
His heart is in his throat as he waits for you to say something, anything. When he hears you start to cry, his first instinct is for him to run to your apartment. “Baby–”
“How are you so perfect?” You whisper loud enough for him to hear. You sniffle and clear your throat before speaking again. “I should be so mad at you, Chris. But, you– you make it impossible to stay mad.”
“I'm sorry?” He mumbles, furrowing his brows in confusion.
A chuckle comes from your end, and his heart skips a beat. “It's okay. Uhm, are you busy? Is it okay if I come to you, or,” You offer to meet up, making Chris's heart race.
“Y-Yeah, no, yeah, you can come by. I'll let the front desk know. Text me when you get here?” He asks, a smile coming to his lips for the first time in three days.
“Of course, handsome. I'll see you soon, okay?” You reassure him.
~
You're nervous as you walk into the JYP building. You know everything's going to turn out okay, but for some reason, the nausea is still there. The receptionist clears you through, and you step into the elevator. After pressing the button for the floor Chris is on, you decided to take some deep breaths.
Your phone vibrates in your hand, seeing a single heart emoji text from Chris. Your heart flutters in your chest, beginning to believe that everything will be alright. The door to the elevator opens up, and you step out, walking in the familiar direction of the studio they're using.
When you round the corner to go down the slim hallway, you find Chris standing at the studio door. You stop in place, meeting his dark eyes. The first thing you notice is the bags under his eyes. A frown comes to your lips at how exhausted he looks.
“Baby,” you mumble and start walking towards him.
“You look good,” Chris smiles at you, his eyes a little glossy. “I missed you so much.”
Both of you wrap your arms around one another, embracing tightly. You tightly grip the shirt he's wearing as he takes in the scent of your perfume.
“I missed you, too, baby,” you sigh, combing your fingers through his hair with your free hand.
Chris holds on to you as if you'll disappear once he lets go. He moves both of you into the studio before shutting the door, giving you some privacy.
You pull away from him, keeping your hands on his forearms as you look back up at him. “Everything's gonna be okay, okay?” You reassure him, gently stroking his arms.
He nods his head, clearing his throat before wrapping you up in his arms again. “I honestly thought that this was the end, y'know?” He mumbles into your neck, kissing the skin lightly.
“I'm in love with you, Chris. I don't ever want this to end,” you tell him while massaging the back of his head.
His hands slip under the hoodie you're wearing, a breathy sigh leaving his lips at the feeling of your soft skin. You bring your hands to his face, making him look at you before your lips meet his.
Chris moans into the kiss, his grip on your waist tightening. “God,” he mumbles, pulling away for a quick second. He reconnects his lips to yours, putting some more passion into the kiss. “I love you.”
You can't help but giggle, resting your forehead against his. “You make me feel like I've got a high school crush, you know that?” You ask him while placing one of your hands to your chest, feeling how fast your heartbeat is.
“I feel the same about you, baby,” he grins, dimples on full display. Chris grabs a hold of your hands as silence fills the room. He intertwines your fingers, keeping his gaze on them.
“You okay, baby?” You ask him quietly, squeezing his hands. “Talk to me.”
He lifts his head, the smile still there, and he nods. “I'm okay. I'm just– really happy that you're back and that we're okay,” he releases a deep breath, bringing your hands to his lips, peppering the backs of them in kisses.
“I'm afraid you're stuck with me,” you joke with him.
“I wouldn't want it any other way, baby,” Chris pulls you close to him, capturing your lips in another kiss.

𝜗𝜚 Cradle Song.
Spencer Reid x Pregnant!reader
main masterlist

Summary: The situation is complicated when Spencer is trapped in a lab with anthrax and worried about communicating with you and his future child one last time.
Words: 2,4k.
Warnings & Tags: mentions of death, therapy. spoilers for s4 e24 ("amplification"). anthrax. established relationship. angst with a open ending. implication that the baby is a girl. english isn't my first language (sorry for my mistakes, be kind please).
Note: I wrote this after posting my first two one shots here (several months ago), and now I just found the uncorrected text and decided to improve it for posting lol for you to mentally decide if it's a happy or sad ending, because I could never write one that I really liked.
Your phone rang somewhere in the room, but you had no idea where. In the distance, you could hear the classical symphony by Johannes Brahms that your boyfriend had chosen especially for you, with the excuse that it would calm you and the baby every time it played.
Unfortunately, this time it wasn't helping to calm you down.
After tossing and turning around the room several times, you sat up in bed, completely exhausted and hopeless. That's when you felt the noise nearby and realized that the phone under your pillow was vibrating nonstop. You were about to snort with stress from being so distracted lately, but an automatic smile appeared on your face when you saw that it was a call from Spencer. You hadn't heard from him in several hours, the last being his usual call to wish you a good morning every time he was away on a case.
“I think I'd lose my head if I didn't have it attached to my neck.” Was the first thing you said as you tried to tuck your pillow behind your neck to make yourself more comfortable.
“You've lost your phone again.” You heard him let out a small, weak laugh, followed by a cough that caught your attention and made you frown. “Sorry, I got stuck.” He quickly excused himself.
“Are you okay?”
In response to your question, he looked around the lab where he was confined, focusing on the broken vial of anthrax on the floor that had caused all his problems so far. Reid didn't know how to explain that an ordinary case had turned into a national problem that was taking over his life and future moments with you with every passing second.
And he certainly knew even less how to tell you that this would probably be the last time you would hear from him if the team didn't find a cure soon.
“I'm fine.” He lied immediately, feeling his breathing getting harder and harder. “Really, love.” He tried to reassure you, but he lost his balance and leaned heavily on the counter, his free hand gripping it hard enough to turn his knuckles white.
All you had to do was hear him call you that and your whole world would light up, you could even feel the baby in your belly kicking at the sound of his voice. You smiled as you realized that you were both happy to hear from Spencer after not seeing him for most of the day due to the demands of his job.
Although you've never said it out loud for fear of making him feel guilty, you miss him excessively, and you're always trying to multitask and be productive, so you don't think as much about how much you need him by your side. Especially when dinner time comes and his seat next to you is empty, or when night comes and his side of the bed is cold.
Perhaps it was the pregnancy hormones, but you seemed to have a stronger need for him than ever.
“And how did you feel today? How are my girls? Did she kick a lot today?” The usual questions he asked you every time he was on a long case began to appear. “I need to hear everything.”
“She just kicks a lot when she listens to you and you know it.” You replied, stroking your belly out of laziness. “She’s definitely a daddy's little princess.”
The lump in his throat and all of his fears became more intense and uncontrollable. The tears he had tried to keep from escaping to stay strong and focused began to flow unchecked down his cheeks. Hearing you talk like that, knowing it might be the last time, was killing him much faster than the anthrax itself.
“And what are you doing? All your agent stuff?” You spoke again at his silence, trying to ignore the bad feeling something was giving you. “Are you coming home soon?”
“I don't think that's possible, love.” He replied quickly, his voice hoarse and raspy, the lie slipping from his lips almost too easily. “I'm doing some paperwork, it'll take some time.”
It was the second time he had called you by that nickname in just a few minutes. Something seemed a little off, as he only used it when he wanted to calm you down. You knew him too well to miss it.
“Oh, okay.” You said it in a way that showed you were a little disappointed.
Spencer was about to try to comfort you when he suddenly felt the cough return to his throat and he put a hand over his mouth to stop it. It was no use, the cough shook his whole body, spinning him around and making him pant in between. He tried to cover the phone with his hand so that the sounds coming out of his mouth would not be heard, but it was useless. The hacking cough seemed to tear at his lungs, leaving him breathless, tears stinging at the corners of his eyes, and he could only hope you didn't hear it, because the last thing he wanted to do was worry you. He knew it would hurt you and the baby.
“Are you sure you're okay? Maybe you should drink some water. It sounds pretty bad.”
He tried to answer you right away, but the cough took over and prevented him from speaking. He gripped the phone tightly, struggling to breathe, trying to force his lungs to stop spasming. And when he finally stopped coughing, he managed to speak, his voice cracking and rather hoarse.
“Yes, I'm fine. It's probably just a cold.” He lied again, breathing shakily. “But it’s nothing so bad.”
“Take care of yourself, don't let it get worse.”
If only you knew that there was no way to make it worse, that it was already at its worst point and unlikely to improve.
“I will, don't worry.” He tries to sound convincing, but his voice comes out rough and raw, and he has to bite the inside of his cheek to keep from coughing again. “Just focus on you and the baby, okay? I'll be fine.”
He spoke again so quickly that it was difficult to think of an appropriate response.
“Could you do something for me, love?”
“Of course, I'll do whatever you need.” You reply, feeling a little perplexed by the urgency in his voice.
There was a long, awkward silence after you answered, and you could feel your mind racing with worst-case scenarios. You had a feeling that Spencer was holding something back from you, and the thought of what it could be made your left leg start to twitch nervously. You didn't even bother trying to make yourself more comfortable in bed.
“Go to my part of the closet, to the top drawer. Open it and take out a box next to the socks.” Finally he spoke and began to give you instructions, which you followed as best you could. “Let me know when you have it, carefully. Don't rush or-”
“I've already got it.” You interjected.
“That was quick.” You heard the surprise in his voice as you looked at the box, curious to know what was inside, after having seen it several times and thinking it was just more socks.
You smiled before speaking again. “What should I do with this, love?”
The mere word coming out of your mouth made him tremble.
Love. Love. Love.
He was your love and you were his. He refused to accept that this would be completely shattered in a matter of minutes if he could not find a way to keep his eyes open and his heart still pumping blood.
“I need you to open it, but be careful. Take your time and don't rush. Don't make any sudden movements.” He said, trying to relax so that when he spoke again his voice would be calmer, softer. “And once you open it, I want you to imagine that I'm there with you, okay?”
You couldn't help but open the box quickly, even though you were careful. You were surprised to find a bunch of envelopes and papers inside. You left them on the bed, wondering what they were about. It had been five months since you knew you were pregnant, and all the envelopes and papers were the same age according to the dates in the top corner.
“Have you seen it yet?” Spencer asked.
“I'm sorry, I don't understand, could you explain what this is?” You asked, carefully running your hand through the neatly organized papers on the bed.
“Could you close your eyes and imagine I'm with you, like I told you before?” He asked, trying to keep a neutral tone as you complied with his request.
He needed you to see him there with you, he needed to say goodbye and at least touch you one last time.
“That's what I'm doing. I'm holding your hand right now.” You said with a small smile, feeling the warmth.
It was like feeling an automatic medicine with your name on it flow through his system and relieve a few aches and pains. His hands stopped shaking automatically as he imagined himself holding yours again.
“Okay…they are notes and letters.” His voice was soft, the intensity of his heartbeat gradually increasing as he remembered each time he wrote those words to you. “I started writing them when we found out you were pregnant. They're for our baby.”
He still remembered the day he found out you were expecting a baby, his baby. He recalled how he felt his whole world stop and turn a different color, his hand sliding down to your stomach, and his breath hitching in his chest as he held your face in his hands and kissed you lovingly, overwhelmed with joy and so in love that he hadn't known what to do with his own feelings.
He took a deep breath and closed his eyes. “I...I found myself writing frequently and my therapist said it was fine…I was inspired to write about my feelings for you and our baby."
From the moment he revealed to you that he had resumed therapy with the goal of healing the wounds of childhood and becoming the father he never had, it was clear that his dedication surpassed any commitment. Now you just added to the list of reasons why he was already an exemplary father, one that any child would be lucky to have.
“Spencer, this is so sweet.” You said, completely moved and on the verge of tears, as you noticed all the dedication I had put into each and every piece of paper. “Why didn't you tell me this before?”
He felt like a bucket of cold water had been thrown on him at that moment. It was so hard to explain, to tell you that every thought and every dream he'd ever had included you and the baby now growing in your belly, and his great fear of not being able to be there for you someday.
“I-” He closed his eyes and took a deep breath, feeling a bit overwhelmed. “I just wanted you to know now how much you mean to me and how blessed I am that you gave this to me. I've spent the last few months trying to even talk to some kind of God, and I don't even know if exist...” He swallowed hard and closed his eyes, the words lost somewhere in his throat, making it burn and hurt. “I just...I need the baby to know what you and her mean to me, how I see you, how I feel when I wake up next to you. What I want, what I dream for her, what...”
I want to marry you.
The thought almost escaped his lips, his aching heart pounding hard against his aching chest. He felt as if a pair of strong hands were strangling him.
“I don't understand...Tell me what's going on.” You interrupted him with a shaking voice, knowing that there was definitely something more to all of this.
Oh, how you know him and his big, messy, troubled brain.
He closed his eyes and shook his head, though you couldn't see it, knowing that you already read him like an open book.
“Nothing...Nothing's wrong, love, just...” He tried to breathe deeply through the phone, his heart pounding in his chest and his mind racing too fast. “I love you so much. Don't forget that, okay?”
“Spencer—”
He always loved your voice calling his name, and now, in his weak, tired, fearful state, he couldn't stop the words from pouring out of his mouth.
“I want you to know that you'll be okay, that she'll be okay, that everything will be okay, and that I love you. I love you both very much. Please, please...” He kept going. He knew he was babbling, but he couldn't stop. His mind was racing, and his words came out like a confession.
He was an expert profiler, a genius with an eidetic memory and a sharp mind, but at that moment, with his body weakened and his head spinning, he found himself unable to contain himself. He was exposed, open, and experiencing discomfort. All of the things he wanted to tell you, all of the questions he wanted to ask, and all of the concerns, worries, and thoughts in his mind came pouring out, like a dam breaking. He sensed that you could feel it through the line, and he realized that he could no longer deny it any longer.
“I love you. I have to go now.”
“Wait.”
You had a feeling something wasn't quite right, and those letters seemed to confirm your suspicions. They were a precautionary measure, a way of ensuring that everything would be taken care of in case something happened to him.
“I have to go, I'm...I'm busy, love.” He tried to sound convincing, and he knew he was failing miserably, but if he stayed a moment longer, he would continue to talk and confess more. “I love you both.”
“We love you too.”
If he wasn't already weak and trembling, hearing your voice telling him that you loved him, in that soft tone, would have made him fall to the floor again. He closed his eyes again and leaned against the wall, his own trembling hand going to cover his mouth so he wouldn't say more, because he would tell you everything if you kept talking in that sweet tone.
He wasn't ready to say goodbye.
So it was that he thought of you and your kind way of loving him before he felt his head hit the floor and his eyes close.

“So after the kid shot me with the SRT I legit only had like 20 health,” Chris’s conversation was very much one-sided as you tried to keep your focus on the study material in front of you. “I didn’t have any slurp juice or bandages, so I definitely thought I was fucked because the kid was running towards me.” You began chewing on your bottom lip as you flipped through flashcards; Chris’s voice growing much too loud for the campus library. In your periphery, you could see that Chris was no longer writing notes and instead had abandoned his pencil to begin moving his hands animatedly as he continued his story. “Oh! And I was also almost out of mats. I was trying to build but he kept shooting at me so I was running out of material quick.” You sighed softly, searching through your business law textbook to find a concept that was sure to be on the test on Monday. The same test that Chris would also be taking, though he was proving to be completely disinterested in preparing himself for it as he continued to drone on about his recent Fortnite win.
“Chris,” You began, finally turning to face him. “I’m sure it’s all very impressive, but we have a pretty big midterm on Monday, remember? That’s the whole reason we’re here.” You shoot him a smile to hopefully soften your words, but thought to yourself that if you had known he was going to be so distracting, you never would have agreed to study with him. Chris blinked at you, a cocky smile pulling at the corner of his lips. He leaned back in the library chair and rested his hands against his stomach. You didn’t know Chris very well, as typically you only really spoke to each other in class, so you couldn’t really gauge his reaction to your words. You watched him for a moment, analyzing the way that his glittery-blue eyes flicked down to your lips and back up again. “But business law is so boring.” He finally replied, humour laced in his voice.
You chuckled, splitting your flashcards in half and handing a stack of them to him. “I know, trust me. But you have to study or else you’ll be fucked Monday morning.” You replied, and with a sigh he took your offered flashcards and straightened up in his chair. “Fine,” He huffed, “But I can’t stay very late, I’ve got a party to go to.” He wiggled his eyebrows cheekily as he spoke, and you stayed silent as you fought the urge to roll your eyes. Finally, you both began flipping through your respective flashcards in silence, the only distraction being the occasional brush of Chris’s arm against yours. You finally felt yourself fall into the satisfying feeling of being laser focused on the material in front of you, when Chris’s voice once again broke the silence.
“Speaking of parties, how come I never see you at any of them?” He asked, dropping his half of the flashcards onto the work table and reaching for his phone. Sighing, you barely flicked your eyes up in acknowledgement before giving him a curt response. “Not my scene.” You replied simply, hoping that answer was enough. “I don’t know if I believe that.” He replied, his voice filled with humour once again. “Hmm?” You rested your head in your hand as you continued haphazardly reading the cards. He stayed silent for a moment, and you could feel his eyes burning into you as he searched for a response. “I mean, I’ve seen plenty of your friends out.” You shrugged. “They’re more fun than I am.”
“Now I know that’s not true.” His words were finally enough to make you drop your own flashcards and turn to face him. “Chris, it’s a Friday night and I’m sitting in the library — where I plan on staying until I’m practically forced out at closing time — doing my very best to study for a midterm that I’ve been prepared to write for about two weeks. I spend so much time in this exact chair that I wouldn’t be surprised to show up one day and see a plaque with my name on it. This is my idea of fun. So how exactly do you think otherwise?” Chris smiled at you, his eyes glimmering with humorous appreciation. “I’ve got a sixth sense for these things, Y/n.” He shrugged, his voice a low, taunting whisper. You scoffed, shocked by his presumption that he knows you more than he really does.
“In fact,” He began again, making you close your eyes out of sheer frustration. “I think I can prove it.” You turned to face him once again, shockingly intrigued by his statement. Raising one eyebrow, you encourage him to continue. “Let’s make a bet.” You tilted your head, unable to hide your curiosity. “A bet.” You repeated. He nodded his head and leaned back in his chair. “We quiz each other with what’s on these flashcards. If you win, I’ll leave the library so you can study in peace, but if I win, you come to the party with me tonight.”
Your eyes widened in shock as you took in his proposition. The thought of going to a party on any weekend made you uneasy, but on the Friday before a major midterm it sounded disastrous. “And what if I say I don’t want to be a part of this bet at all?” You questioned, crossing your arms over your chest. Chris smirked and shrugged. “Then I guess you’ll have to put up with me. As a matter of fact, I bet I could stay a little later, too. I have plenty of stories to share with you.” You groaned out loud as he sent you a quick wink. “I hate parties!” You exclaimed, throwing your hands up in the air in exasperation.
“What? Don’t think you can answer more questions right than me?” He asked, his teasing voice laced with humour. But his words brought you to the realization that he was right, of course you wouldn’t have to go to the party. There was no way that Chris would be able to get more of the flashcard questions that you wrote correct. So, after a few more moments of contemplation, you shrugged your shoulders and straightened up in your chair. “Fuck it, I’m in.” A smile grew on Chris’s face as he took your hand and shook it; sealing the deal.
𓆩♡𓆪
“Yes! Let’s fucking go!” Your face dropped as you watched Chris jump from his seat, fists pumping the air as he circled your work table, soaking in his win. Once he reached you, he grabbed your shoulders and shook them lightly, pulling you from your shocked disassociation. “How the fuck did that just happen?” You asked, your voice weak as you looked at the tally score you had made on a scrap piece of paper. At the start of your little competition, you had actually been pleasantly surprised to see Chris answering the first few questions right. But, as you got closer and closer to the end, and with that, your scores eventually becoming tied, you suddenly became nervous. When you got your last question wrong, you felt your stomach drop, knowing that in order for you not to lose the bet Chris would have to get his last one wrong as well. But, to your horror, his answer was perfectly correct.
“I bet you underestimated me, huh?” Chris taunted as he began packing up his backpack. Shaking your head, you pulled your exasperated body up, collecting your own study supplies. “I guess I did.” You replied sheepishly, and without even looking you could feel Chris lean towards you. “You should never underestimate me.” He whispered, causing shivers to crawl down your spine. Then, his mood suddenly shifted back to his previous giddiness as he slung his backpack onto one shoulder. “So, text me your address. I’ll pick you up around 9:00 and we’ll walk to the party together, sound good?” Chris’s voice was so sickly sweet, riddled with excitement at the expense of both your shattered ego and distaste for your sudden plans. With a huff, you begin walking with him towards the library exit. “Sounds great.” You replied, your words filled with sarcasm and resentment.
𓆩♡𓆪
“Just a second!” You called, your voice shrill and panicked, as you scrambled around your apartment trying to do up your black corset while running to answer the door. Groaning, you momentarily give up on the corset and use one hand to hold it together in the back while you opened the front door. “Sorry, I just need another minute to get this damn top on.” You muttered in frustration, skipping over any greeting with Chris standing at the door. You turned around immediately, leaving the door open for him to enter as you walked into your bedroom and stood in front of you mirror.
Chris chuckled as he stepped into your apartment and followed you into your bedroom. “Having some trouble there?” He teased, nudging his chin to your undone top. You huffed as he leaned against your bedroom doorframe, crossing his arms as he took great pleasure in watching you struggle with your top.
“This thing is fucking impossible to put on!” You exclaimed, contorting your body into unflattering positions in an attempt to see what you were doing as you worked at clipping up one of the many clasps. Your eyes fell to your clock, noticing that it was exactly 9:00. “I’m sorry Chris, are we gonna be late?” You asked as you continued to struggle with your top.
“It’s a party, Y/n,” Chris began, pushing himself off from the doorframe and walking towards you. “We can’t be ‘late’.” Without asking for permission, Chris mindlessly walked up behind you to begin helping with your fussy corset. You stilled as you felt his cold knuckles brush against your spine as his fingers expertly maneuvered the stubborn clips into place. “Thank you.” You managed to whisper, even though your mouth had suddenly grown bone dry.
Once he fastened the last clip, Chris took a moment to step back and check over his work. Nodding in approval, you watched him through the mirror as his eyes drifted along your entire outfit. “Damn. I didn’t think you even owned anything like this.” He laughed, locking eyes with you in the mirror. You took a moment of your own to look at the lacy black corset and black mini skirt covering your body, and mirrored his laugh.
“This isn’t the first time I’ve been dragged to a party, you know.” Chris made a cheeky face at you through the mirror. “Dragged is a crazy word. I prefer to think of it as you finally allowing yourself to spend your Friday night like a normal 21 year old college student.” You turned away from the mirror and rolled your eyes, reaching for your purse on the bed to make sure you had everything in it that you might need tonight. Chris chuckled as you began stuffing your purse with your lip combo and perfume of the night, and suddenly you felt the heat of his body behind you as he stepped closer to you. “You know, we can blow off this party if you really don’t want to go.”
You let out a soft gasp and your eyes fluttered shut at his warm whispers in your ear. His mouth lingered just inches from your ear as he waited for a response, but confusion washed over your body like lava. After what could have possibly been too long of an unbearable silence, you broke it by laughing dryly. “Yeah yeah, but I lost the bet…remember?” While you tried to keep your voice steady, you winced at how weak your words came out. Chris laughed softly, his breath warming your skin deliciously. “Ah yes, the bet.” He replied, his voice much lower than it had been before. You shivered as you felt his thumb trail softly down your bare arm. “We better get going then.”
You took a deep breath before turning around to face him. Looking up at him through your false eyelashes, you took a moment to examine his curious expression. His eyes looked soft as they glimmered in the dim lighting of your bedroom, but there was a barely distinguishable tension in his jaw — as though he was clenching his teeth in discomfort or strain — as he stared down at you. “Okay.” You finally replied, your voice a hoarse whisper.
You suddenly felt chilled as Chris’s body moved away from yours, and were completely shocked by the wave of disappointment that crashed through your system. As Chris helped you slip on your black jacket and you both walked out of your apartment and towards the party, you couldn’t help but ask yourself: what would have happened if you took the option not to go to the party?
It was a short walk to the house party, but by the time you and Chris walked up to the front door, you were beginning to grow squirrelly with nerves. It had been a long time since you had gone to a party, and you were sure that you had never been at this particular house before. As if he was reading your mind, Chris nudged your shoulder softly. “Hey, it’ll be fun,” You turned to look at him, giving him a weak smile. He leaned in closer to your ear, as if he was preparing to tell you a secret. “This is actually my place, so you’re already tight with the host.” You looked at him, slightly shocked that the party was at his home yet he chose to meet you at your place first, but it did calm your nerves slightly.
That changed as soon as Chris opened the front door. Immediately, you were met by a throng of unfamiliar people scattered throughout the house, loud music blaring, and scattered beer bottles and solo cups along the floor. After shooting you a reassuring look, Chris led you up the stairs to the main part of his home; filled with even more people and even more mess. A handful of people walked up to Chris in greeting, and you felt like an invader of the party; even though Chris made sure to introduce you to everyone he was talking to.
Just when you were about to ask Chris to show you where the washroom was — in which you planned to spend the rest of this horrifying night in hiding — you heard your name get called over the incessant chatter. Turning your head in the direction of the living room, you noticed three of your best friends on the couch, smiling and waving their hands in your direction. “You bitch! Why didn’t you tell us you were coming out?”
You felt the weight of humiliation and awkwardness lift off of you, and you shot them a warm smile before turning to Chris. Noticing your friends, he tilted his head in their direction and smiled kindly down at you. “Go ahead, I’ll find you later.” With a childish giggle, you squeezed his arm as a gentle sign of appreciation before quickly scampering off to your friends on the couch.
𓆩♡𓆪
After giving your friends a detailed explanation of how you ended up at the party — and after drinking more than your fair share of beer — you had melted into a state of bliss that was nearly unrecognizable to you. Never before had you truly enjoyed yourself at a party, yet at that very moment, it felt as though you were morphing into a completely different person; one much more confident and certainly more relaxed. That definitely had to do with the liquor burning through your veins, and maybe even the fact that a certain pair of blue eyes had been planted on you the whole night.
Laughing at something one of your friends’ said, your eyes traveled across the room and locked onto Chris’s from his place in the kitchen. You watched as a smirk pulled at the corner of his pink lips before he curled two fingers in the air; subtly calling you over. “I’ll be back in a bit.” You said to your friends before pulling your body — heavy from the alcohol — off of the couch and walking over to Chris at the kitchen counter.
He watched you, his head tilted ever so slightly as if he was studying you, as you approached him. You realized in that moment just how warm your cheeks felt as you finally reached him, standing just inches from his leaning frame. “You know, if I didn’t know any better, I’d say it looks like you’re having a bit of fun over there.” He said, his voice laced with amusement. You made an attempt at rolling your eyes. “Alcohol can make anything fun.” You replied, feeling too stubborn to admit that your night was going much better than you had expected. Chris straightened up and turned to the counter where he grabbed a bottle of tequila and began filling up two shot glasses. “Well in that case, I think you should take a shot with me.”
You smiled and stayed silent as you watched him pour the liquid into the small glasses. You couldn’t help but admire his side profile as his long eyelashes framed his slightly reddened eyes, and his teeth bit down on his lower lip in concentration. Even with your blurred vision, you could see the faint sprinkle of freckles along the soft slope of his nose, and appreciated the soft flush of baby pink — no doubt a gift granted to you by his consumption of alcohol — along his cheeks.
You snapped out of it once he turned back to face you, holding out a shot — noticeably less full than the one in his other hand — for you to grab. You obliged, and held it up in a cheers with him before you both tilted your heads back, wincing at the familiar burn as the tequila slid down your throat. “Lime.” You cried out, your voice hoarse from the liquor, and rather quickly Chris grabbed a pre-cut lime wedge out of a bowl and brought it to your lips. You opened your mouth and wrapped your lips around the slice; sucking the sour juice from it while looking up at Chris with a scrunched up face as you ignored the strange flutter in your stomach — a flutter that was most definitely not from the alcohol.
You pulled your eyes away from Chris as you plucked the lime out of your mouth. Hearing him chuckle, you looked back up at him. “Another?” He asked, holding up the bottle of Casa Migos. Regrettably, you nodded your head. “But do you have any salt?” You asked, to which Chris responded by immediately reaching over into a cabinet to his right. As he searched through the cabinet, your eyes fell onto his exposed neck typically hidden by his messy curls — his skin slightly glistening.
As he turned back to face you, a shaker of salt in his hand, you felt your mood suddenly shift into one filled with desire. Forcing a smile onto your face, you managed a small thank you. Noticing your change in mood, Chris’s eyes seemed to scan across your features for a moment in silence. “Lick the back of your hand.” He ordered, his voice low and slightly deeper than before. Instinctually, you brought your hand up to your mouth. But just as you were about to run your hand against your tongue, you were suddenly overcome with an urge — and with it, a wave of uncharacteristic confidence.
“Actually, can I do something?” You asked, looking up at Chris through your eyelashes. Your eyes fixed on his neck, and you watched as his Adam’s apple bobbed slightly. “Sure.” He said, his voice barely above a whisper. As the word left his mouth, you took the salt shaker from his hand and sprinkled some into your own open palm. “Fill the shot glasses.” You told him, and he immediately obliged. Looking back up at his face — his gorgeous features laced with confusion — you took one deep breath before moving closer to him, your bodies now so close that with each breath your chest brushed against his. His eyes were filled with shock at your sudden proximity, but he stayed perfectly still as he waited to see what you were going to do.
Slowly, so slowly, you brought your mouth to his neck before running your tongue along his creamy skin. As you did, a short gasp fell from his lips and you felt his body stiffen against you. Sticking to efficiency, you quickly pulled your tongue away before lacing your free hand through his curls; using your grip to tilt his head so that you could sprinkle the grains of salt against his wet skin. Pulling back, you caught a glimpse of Chris’s face — cheeks even more flushed and his eyes momentarily shut in bliss — before he looked down at you with uncertainty.
Untangling your hand from his hair, you reached for your shot on the counter and held it up. “Cheers.” You whispered, a small smirk tugging at your lips. Chris blinked a few times before picking up his own shot and clinking it against yours. His eyes stayed glued to yours as you both took your shots, and before the tequila had a chance to hit you with its after shock, you wrapped your lips around the patch of salt along his neck. Even in the loud room, you could swear you heard a soft moan fall from Chris lips, and you felt his pulse quicken against your mouth as you took your time licking away every grain of salt.
It wasn’t long before all of the salt had melted against your tongue, but still you continued to gently nibble and suck the delicate skin on his neck. As you did, Chris sucked in a sharp breath before gripping onto your ass tightly and pulling you against him. You released your own soft moan at the feeling of his large hand digging into your plush skin, and you wrapped your arms around his neck. “Jesus, Y/n.” Chris groaned. Against your front, you began to feel a fast-growing bulge press against you. Your mouth travelled tantalizingly slow against his skin, until you reached his ear. Grabbing his earlobe between your teeth and gently tugging on the soft skin, you whispered. “You should never underestimate me, either.”
At that, you heard an impressed chuckle. You pulled away from his skin and looked up at him, just inches from his soft lips. So close that you could feel his warm breath against your face, you began to feel intoxicated — not by the tequila, but by him. His hand stayed firmly planted on your ass, the tips of his fingers just barely whispering against your burning heat. The two of you seemed to find yourselves in some sort of stare down — neither of you moving closer to or away from the other — trying to gauge what the other wanted.
Finally, your eyes dropped to his glistening lips, and as if they had a magnetic pull you felt yourself inch closer and closer to them. Noticing this, Chris began pulling forward too, until you could feel his desire burning against your skin. Just as your lips brushed against his, you gasped for air before panting out: “Bedroom.”
Without a moment’s hesitation, Chris grabbed onto your hand and began leading you to a set of stairs descending into the basement. You could hear your own pulse over the music as it began growing more distant when you both reached the bottom of the stairs. Once you reached a locked door, Chris began pounding against it urgently. “Get the fuck out of my room!” He called through the door, and as you heard the sound of panicked shuffling on the other side he turned to face you; his eyes exuding pure desire as he ran his thumb pad against your lower lip.
You jumped as the door suddenly burst open and watched as two undone people slipped past you both; actively avoiding eye contact. As soon as they passed you, Chris grabbed onto your waist and pulled you into the dimly lit room. Without even a moment to adjust to your surroundings, you gasped as Chris slammed you against the closed door and engulfed your open mouth with his own. You moaned at the feeling of his lips moulding to yours, bringing with them a relief to the tension that had been building between you all night.
His tongue slipped into your mouth, and you welcomed it with a gasp. You relished in the feeling of his tongue completely and utterly dominating not just your mouth, but your whole body, as you felt yourself weaken in between the wooden door and his towering frame. Your head began to spin at the unfamiliar yet intoxicating taste of his lips, just as you watched in awe as he dropped to his knees in front of you.
His eyes drilled into yours for a moment, as though he was checking to make sure you were okay with what he was about to do. When you knit your brows together and began sucking on your bottom lip — desperate for his touch — he shot you a cocky smirk before drawing his attention to what was in his direct line of sight. His hands slid from your waist down to your thighs, where he began massaging them slowly while simultaneously dropping wet kisses against your burning skin.
Reacting to this, you inadvertently spread your legs further apart. As you did, you felt his lips curl into a smile against your skin as he continued running his tongue against your inner thighs. While continuing to drive you crazy with his mouth, he brought his hands up to the zipper of your skirt. As he fiddled with with the metal, he spoke against your skin. “You want this?” A soft moan fell from your lips, eliciting a chuckle from his. “I need to hear you say it, baby.” He urged, causing your chest to rise and fall rapidly. “Y-yes.” You finally managed to reply, gasping for air as you did. At your response, Chris gently nibbled at the sensitive skin on your thigh, just below the end of your skirt, as he began sliding the black material down your legs. “Good girl.” He praised just as he let the skirt drop to your ankles.
Now with just your sheer panties between his warm mouth and the place you needed it the most, you began squirming as he took a moment to admire your barely-covered heat. He brought his hands up from their place on your thighs to the soft wisp of hair along your bikini line. You shivered in pleasure from his touch so close to where you were aching for him, and watched as his eyes seemed to grow enlivened by his view. “Didn’t expect you to be wearing something like this under that skirt.” He uttered, his voice thick with desire as he toyed with the sheer material. “What did I say about underestimating me?” You replied through your breathlessness.
With that, Chris looked up at you through his thick eyelashes, a smirk cemented into his face, before hooking his thumbs onto either side of your sheer thong and dragging it excruciatingly slow down your legs; until you were suddenly completely bare in front of him. As your pussy radiated desire just inches from his face, his smirk was replaced by one of agony; as if he was suddenly desperate to bury himself into its warmth. He grabbed both of your thighs, firmly pulling them further apart, before he ran his tongue slowly along your dripping slit; his eyes drilling into you as he did. You watched as a pool of your slippery arousal gathered on his tongue, and only once he swallowed your juices did his eyes flutter closed; officially losing himself.
You cried out as soon as his warm mouth wrapped around your pulsing clit, creating an infrangible suction that caused your hips to involuntarily buck into him. Chris moaned against your bundle of nerves, sheer enjoyment plastered to his softened expression, as you laced your thin fingers through his curly hair. “Jesus.” You moaned out incoherently, unable to form a genuine thought as Chris’s tongue worked you through shock waves of pleasure. He groaned against your pussy in response, his face completely buried in between your wet folds.
You gasped as you felt his finger begin to circle your hole, teasing your entrance as it begged him for more. Noticing your flexing walls and dripping arousal, Chris slipped two hooked fingers into your spongey cunt; pumping them into you with vigour as his mouth continued to work against your throbbing clit. The room filled with the wet sounds of Chris’s fingers plunging into you, and you felt that familiar tension in your lower stomach begin to grow nearly unbearable. Your grip on his hair tightened, and you couldn’t stop yourself from grinding your slick heat against his eager mouth.
“F-fuck C-Chris, I — FUCK!” You struggled to speak as you began to lose control of your body, writhing under his hold on you as though you were trying to run from your impending orgasm. In response, Chris’s fingers began to pump into you even quicker, drawing a long moan from your lips. “It’s okay baby,” He reassured you against your clit, his voice an octave lower than usual, “Make a mess all over me.” Your back arched against the door, his encouraging words drawing you closer to your orgasm. Chris used his free hand to grab your thigh, lifting it off the ground and resting it on his shoulder; granting him access to pump his thick fingers even deeper into you.
As he pounded his fingers into your g-spot relentlessly, your body momentarily stilled as you were hit with white-hot pleasure. “Fuck!” You cried out as the waves began crashing into you, causing your body to now begin to convulse uncontrollably. Your nails dug into his scalp as you struggled to stay upright throughout your earth-shattering orgasm. Once he felt your walls begin to pulse around his fingers, he quickly slid them out; allowing you to ride through your high as his mouth began ardently drinking up your warm juices.
As soon as he noticed your moans begin to calm down, he lifted you off of your shaky legs and carried you to the bed. As he walked, he effortlessly undid the many clips on the back of your corset; freeing your full tits and wrapping his wet, swollen lips around one. As he swirled his tongue around your pebbled nipple, he gently laid you down along the edge of his large bed. With a pop he pulled his mouth off of your tit before heedlessly unbuckling his pants and slipping them down his legs, before doing the same with his boxers. You watched in awe as his cock sprung free, feeling that insatiable need grow even stronger deep inside of you.
“Need to feel that soaked fucking pussy wrapped around my cock so fucking bad.” Chris murmured, collecting the fast-growing arousal from your slit on his fingers before using the slippery fluid to stroke his member a few times. Leaning down, he drew your lips to his in a desperate and sloppy kiss, and as he did you felt the girth of his tip pressing incessantly against your dripping entrance. Groaning in anticipation, you writhed under his grip and wrapped your legs around his waist.
Unable to hold back, Chris released a guttural moan against your cheek as he suddenly slammed every inch of himself into you. You cried out in pleasure as his cock pumped into you hard and fast without giving you a moment to adjust to his size. His incessant groans and sharp breathing let you know how good your pussy felt as it enveloped his swollen shaft. “C-Chris y-you’re hu-uge!” You managed to cry out, your eyes bulging from your head as you felt your walls stretch to accommodate his size.
At that, Chris lifted his head from your cheek and dropped his eyes to watch your swollen pussy as his cock continued to pound into it. He brought a hand to your lower stomach, pressing down so that you could see the bulge that his cock was imprinting into it. With an arrogant smile on his lips, he looked back up to your fucked-out face. “You’re takin’ it so good, baby.” His words made your head spin, and you released a loud moan as you gripped onto his arms. Chris looked back down at where your pussy was swallowing his cock, and you watched his jaw go slack as he seemed to relish in the magnificent pleasure that the sight brought him.
“This pussy was fuckin’ made for me.” He groaned out, his voice low as though he was speaking to himself rather than you. Still, his obsession drew another wave of pleasure through your body, and you desperately wanted to see what he was seeing. With shaky limbs, you managed to lift your shoulders up, resting the weight of your upper body on your elbows. You gasped as you watched Chris’s thick cock disappear inside of you again and again; pulling ribbons of your arousal out on each thrust and spreading them along your inner thighs and his lower stomach.
Chris’s eyes lifted up to yours, where they stayed as he continued to pound into you. Suddenly, he brought a veiny hand to your throat; gently squeezing the sides as he bit on his lower lip. “You see how fuckin’ pretty your pussy looks milking my cock?” You let your eyes drop back to the place where your bodies met, entranced by the sight of your bright pink lips wrapping around his length. “If I died inside of you right now, I would die a happy fucking man.” He leaned forward and melted his soft lips to yours, kissing you so deeply that your head spun.
Chris’s pace began to slow; becoming much sloppier. Deep grunts fell from his lips as he dropped his forehead onto your collarbone where he placed wet, open mouthed kisses as he plunged up into your g-spot. “Fuuuuck.” He hissed, his breath warm against your clammy skin as he seemed to get caught up in how good he was feeling. “Chris.” You breathed, your brain turning to mush as you felt every inch of his cock slip through your walls at this new, excruciatingly slow, pace.
Suddenly, his movements completely stilled as he leaned over you and grabbed a pillow from the top of his bed. He straightened himself up on top of you, grabbing your waist and lifting it effortlessly as he slid the pillow under your lower back. Confused, you look up at him with knitted brows; your chest rising and falling. Noticing your un-asked question, Chris spoke. “I’m gonna cum in a minute,” He said, slowly beginning to slide in and out of you again. “And when I do, I wanna feel your pussy convulsing around me.”
With that, Chris pressed one hand firmly onto your lower stomach while using two fingers to spread apart the protective hood above your clit. With his other hand, he brought his thumb to your exposed clit and began rubbing it gently; relishing in the way your body flexed erotically each time he did. Your moans slipped past your lips in helpless squeaks, feeling overstimulated by Chris’s direct contact with your bundle of nerves in unison with the added pressure in your gut caused by his hand pressing against it. “G-god!” You cried out, grabbing onto both of Chris’s wrists as he continued working your clit and fucking you senseless; unsure of whether you were trying to pull his hands away or keep them exactly where they were.
Chris’s eyes stayed glued to your swollen clit, but his breathing grew more and more ragged as he quickly approached his orgasm. You could feel his cock swelling inside of you as he struggled to hold himself back. “Fuck,” He growled, his cheeks even more flushed than before, “Cum for me baby, please.” His voice broke at the end of his sentence, a clear sign that he was on the edge of losing control. You felt your own walls begin to crash down, sending you closer and closer to what was sure to be an earth-shattering orgasm. “P-please — a-almost there.” You whined, your back arching off of the bed as you began to feel as though you were being lit on fire.
Chris dropped his forehead onto your chest, being sure to keep his movements the same as he released soft moans against your skin. “Come on sweetheart.” He grunted as he thrusted up into you, running dangerously low on will-power, “Let me feel you cum for me.” The gritty desperation in his voice was enough to finally push you over the edge. As soon as he felt that first intense pulse reverberate through your walls, he finally allowed himself to lose all control. His hips began pounding into you incessantly as your legs tightened around his waist. Deep, brutish moans fell from his lips on each thrust as his thumb continued to rub against your clit.
“Jesus fuck!” You cried out, feeling the pressure that had been building in your stomach release as you squirted against Chris’s pelvis. As you did, Chris’s thrusts suddenly stilled, and while his thumb toyed with your clit, he released a guttural moan before you felt his warm fluid spill into your quivering pussy. His swollen cock pulsed in between your walls, and you moaned in unison with him as he began to rock himself in and out of you slowly; using your tight pussy to milk himself dry.
Once both you and him came back down to earth, Chris collapsed into your chest; laying there for a moment as you both struggled to catch your breath. Your hands fell onto Chris’s curly hair, which you ran your fingers through slowly as he drew small circles on your hip bone; both of you helping the other get back to their sober minds.
After a short while, Chris planted an affectionate kiss to your chest before lifting himself up. He pulled out of you slowly, his glazed eyes watching as his cum dripped out of you. You watched as he reached over the edge of the bed and grabbed his discarded t-shirt. After shooting you a charming smile, he gently grabbed your right thigh, spreading it slightly before using the soft material of the t-shirt to delicately wipe away the mess he had made of you. “You sore?” He asked, his voice gentle as he gazed up at you. You nodded, looking up at him with a smile as you leaned back on your elbows. “Nothing I can’t handle.” You added, sticking your tongue out cheekily.
“I am gonna need your help with the corset again before we head back upstairs, though.” You sighed, gesturing to the discarded pile of lace and buckles on the floor. Chris’s eyes followed to where you pointed. “Or…” He began, tugging at the edge of his comforter, “We could just stay down here?” Your eyes drifted up to his face, and you were met with a sheepish, tired smile. Feeling a wave of relief wash over you, you crawled to the top of the bed and curled under the warm blanket. “Thank God.” You muttered, earning another smile from Chris before he followed you into the sheets.
He pulled you into his arms, and you closed your eyes at the comforting feeling of the warmth emanating from his naked body. Exhaustion began to immediately overtake you, and you felt yourself grow heavy in his arms. “Are you sure you don’t want to go back up?” You asked, worried that he might just feel obligated to be there with you, “You’re gonna miss out on all the fun.” Your voice was now thick with sleep. Chris chuckled, squeezing you gently in his arms. “All the fun is right here. I told you, Y/n, my sixth sense never fails me.”

Spencer Reid x bau!reader ♡ 759 words
“Dave,” Prentiss says firmly, “I’ve got it.”
“No, you got it last time.” Rossi’s trying to put his credit card down on the tab the waiter left, but Prentiss blocks him with a hand. “Let me take this one.”
“I don’t care which of them gets it,” you say near Spencer’s ear. “Just glad it’s not me.” He laughs.
Luckily, you’re not loud enough for anyone to hear but him. You’ve become surprisingly mumbly after a few drinks, imparting your observations and witticisms to Spencer alone, your cheek on his shoulder. Surprisingly tactile, too.
“What are you doing?” he asks as you trace the creases spanning the insides of his fingers. He doesn’t think you’re doing anything really, drunk enough to be susceptible to whims and mindless fiddling, but Spencer likes to hear you talk.
You make a muted humming sound. “Reading your finger lines.”
“You mean my palm lines?”
“No, I mean your finger ones. I’m inventing a new science.”
Spencer smiles. The tip of your nose is touching the knit of his cardigan, he wonders if it itches. You might not notice, though, with the way you’re so concentrated on his hand. Your lashes shadow your eyes like heavy clouds.
“You know,” says Spencer, “there’s been some disagreement among biologists about palm lines. They’re called palmar flexion creases, and while it’s largely agreed upon that they form before birth to allow freedom of movement without stretching the skin on our hands, some also think that certain lines can indicate certain medical conditions.”
“Huh.” You trace your finger down to his palm. “So, sort of like telling the future.”
“Well, modern medical practitioners can usually identify those conditions early after birth anyway—but sure, if you want to think about it that way.”
“That’s okay, I’m not that invested in palm line science anyway.”
You say it placidly, even though you’re not moving away, like nothing is really all that important so long as you’re touching him. The dim, orange bulbs of the lamps in the bar cast shadows under your lashes and in the dip of your cupid’s bow.
Your finger keeps moving absently, past Spencer’s wrist until you’re nudging up his shirtsleeve. “You have really nice forearms,” you murmur.
Spencer’s skin prickles with a blush. He takes your hand away in an effort to deter you, but you only go along with the deviation, linking your fingers through his. He glances at Garcia, relieved when she’s not looking. Just last week, she’d asked Spencer and Morgan if you secretly didn’t like her.
I tried to give her a hug, she’d said, pouting confusedly, and she went as stiff as a board. It was the worst rejection I’ve had since high school.
Morgan had laughed. Not everyone is as warm and fuzzy as you are, babygirl. Don’t take it personal. She’s just not the touchy type.
You feel for Spencer’s other hand under the table, seeking to add it to your collection. He gives it over to avoid a fuss.
On the other end of the table, Rossi seems to have successfully paid the bill.
“Okay.” He gets up with a sigh, grabbing his coat. “I will see you kids tomorrow.”
“Bright and early,” JJ agrees with joking weariness.
As your team starts to get up, say goodbye, and (in Garcia’s case) hurriedly slurp up the remainders of their drinks, Spencer gives your fingers a tentative squeeze.
“Time to go,” he tells you.
You sigh heavily, warm breath permeating his cardigan. “Okay. I guess.”
Spencer’s not entirely sure where your reluctance is coming from—if he were you, he’d be eager for his bed—but you stand without complaint, immediately looping your arm through Spencer’s and leaning comfortably against his side.
Morgan raises his eyebrows. “Need some help there, pretty boy?”
“That’s okay.” It’s out before Spencer can think it through, and heat comes to his face when Morgan’s lips lift with a knowing grin.
Thankfully, Hotch spares him any elaboration. “I can take her home.” He’s watching you severely, the way a strict parent looks at their teenager before reluctantly getting them ibuprofen and a glass of water for the next morning. “She can’t drive.”
“That’s okay,” Spencer says again. “I can drive her.”
Hotch’s face is impassive, but Spencer can tell he’s not overly surprised. “Are you sure? I live closer than you do.”
“I’m sure.” Again, his face heats at what he knows his answer is revealing. But Spencer looks down at you, contented and half asleep against his side, and it’s worth it. “I don’t mind.”

chase and attract

summary: your best friend decides to fulfil yet another one of your freaky shared fantasies... pairing: chan x reader genre: smut, best friends to ??? warnings: cnc/primal play, chasing in a forest, public indecency but there are no witnesses, fingering, finger-sucking, doggystyle, unprotected sex, praise, degradation, reader wants to use the safeword but doesn't, reader experiences subdrop, insecurities, crying, aftercare, pet names, the word daddy is mentioned but after they're done having sex, discussion of future scenario 👀 author's note: hello hello, this is the second part of my wolf & bunny series, i think i'll write one more to tie up the loose ends 🤍 part one & part three word count: 1.7k
After a number of discussions and precautions, you and Chan are finally ready to embark on your next sexscapade. He's reassured you multiple times that he knows the forest well enough that you won't get lost and as a safety measure, he brought a compass and his phone. You purposefully leave yours in his car to further heighten the feeling of danger you two had in mind.
“Are you ready?” Chan asks you gently.
“Kinda. I'm really nervous, Chris,” you confess, your hands shaking in your lap as you are still sitting in the passenger seat.
“Remember that you can stop this at any moment, right?” he reminds you sweetly.
“I know that,” you sigh. “But I want this, I really do.”
“Okay, then, there's nothing to be nervous about. You know I'll keep you safe. Always, yeah?”
You nod, trusting him completely, despite how insane this whole thing might sound to a stranger. You are fully aware that Chan has your best interest at heart.
“I'll give you a five-minute headstart this time,” he sets the timer on his phone. “Ready, set...go!”
You dash out of his car faster than ever and speed through the forest. You've got this. Last time your stupid legs gave out due to being in a box for too long but now you've trained for this moment for a week and you feel confident enough that you'll have a blast. Sure, you know that the point of this game is for Chan to eventually catch you. And boy, do you look forward to that moment. But the more you run, the more your heart will jump out, the more thrilled you feel.
You begin to lose track of time as you go deeper and deeper into the forest. Have five minutes already passed? You don't hear Chan's footsteps so either he hasn't started chasing you yet or he's going in another direction. Whatever the explanation, you keep running even though you're beginning to lose your breath. How much longer? You still don't hear him and you are in desperate need of a break. You should have brought a bottle of water. But carrying something like that would only slow you down. You're thinking too much again. You just want him to catch you already and fuck you until you can no longer think. Truly the best feeling in the world.
Finally, you hear leaves rustling. You don't hear his voice but you know he's getting near. Shit, what if it's someone else? No, that can't be it. Chan made sure that people rarely walk this path and it would only be the two of you. Still, you're terrified at the thought of someone other than Chan catching you. The mere suggestion of that is enough to send speed to your muscles and make you faster.
But all good things must come to an end (or maybe the good things are just about to begin...) and you are engulfed by a pair of strong arms. Before you can react or try to fight your attacker off, he's pressing his hand against your mouth.
“Shhh, don't scream,” Chan's voice is both a comfort and a threat, sending mixed signals to your core.
“Mmpf,” you struggle to make some kind of noise but it comes out muffled against his rough hand.
“This will all be easier if you don’t fight it,” Chan says soothingly and you shake your head in disagreement.
He momentarily removes his hand from your lip.
“Please, somebody help me!” you scream loud enough to paint the scene more vividly but not loud enough to actually attract attention in case a stranger passes by some forest. Which honestly seems impossible at this point. Chan really picked a very secluded trail.
“No one’s gonna hear you, sweetheart. And even if they did, do you think they’d help you? Silly little bun, you brought this on yourself walking in the forest all alone, wearing this dress…”
Fuck, why is he so good at this? You try not to wonder if he’s had prior experience with such a scenario or he simply just has great imagination to come up with such lines.
“Please, don’t do this,” you pretend to be afraid as your best friend pushes you on your knees and situates himself behind you. “I won’t tell anyone.”
“Why not? I’ll fuck you so good you’ll want to brag about it,” Chan chuckles coldly and sticks his thick fingers inside your pussy unexpectedly.
“Nnghh,” you cry out and are beginning to lose energy of all the running and no longer feel like faking it, letting out moans and whimpers of pleasure.
“See? You’re all wet for me, so obviously you’re enjoying it,” Chan gathers the evidence of your satisfaction with his fingers and pushes them into your mouth.
You don’t need an order to know what to do as you lick them clean of your arousal.
“Fuuuck, good girl,” Chan praises you and briefly breaks character, stroking your hair gently.
Oh, shit. You think you’re falling for your best friend. But such thoughts will only bring complications, especially in the current context, so you push them down as much as you can.
Chan makes sure you’re wet enough by mercilessly stroking your pussy and finally, fuck, sweet finally, enters you from behind with his cock.
“N-no, d-don’t do this,” you scream and try to escape his strong grasp but of course, it’s no use.
“Such a useless slut, only good for fucking and nothing more.”
The degrading words sting but you’re trying not to dwell on it too much.
“So fucking wet for a stranger. Disgusting,” he says.
Fuck, this hurts. Not the cock stretching you out to the fullest but what he’s saying. Is it really true?
You want to say the safeword. But you also don’t. By the time you make up your mind, Chan has already painted your walls white and you are also coming with a shudder, loudly and devastatingly.
You feel broken. Bad broken. You want to go home and cry and sleep and eat ice cream. What went wrong? You were having such a great time. So why are you suddenly having such dark thoughts? And not dark in the sexy way…
Chan picks you up gently and checks up on you.
“Are you okay?”
“I’m okay, I just want to go home,” you respond briefly.
He nods, quietly wondering if he did something wrong or if he’s just imagining the sad, empty look in your pretty eyes.
Chan helps you walk back to his car and makes sure you drink water and cleans you up to the best of his abilities with some tissues he prepared in advance.
“Are you sure you’re okay?” he asks again as he parks the car in front of you place. “You haven’t said a word during the whole ride. Usually you have funny stories to share and…”
“Gee, sorry for not always being the class clown, I guess,” you snap at him angrily with an eyeroll.
“Okay, don’t give me that attitude,” Chan scolds you gently but firmly. “If we want to do this healthily, you gotta communicate with me. If I did something wrong or if you felt uncomfortable at any point.”
You shake your head, still in denial.
“If you don’t wanna talk, I won’t force you. But you gotta remember that you mean the world to me, yeah? Even if these games end, I need to have my best friend in my life, am I clear?”
You blink and finally gather the courage to look at him.
“I’m sorry, Chris,” you admit and burst into tears.
He pulls you into a hug and pats your back.
“You have nothing to be sorry about.”
“Well, the truth is I wasn’t all that into it when you said that thing about me being useless, only good for fucking and disgusting,” you confess.
“Oh, babygirl, you know I don’t mean these things. I only said them ‘cause you mentioned you’re into degradation.”
“I was, I mean, I am, but for some reason, it really hurt me this time, sorry. I should have said. I just don’t want you to think poorly of me.”
“Alright, first of all, stop saying sorry, it’s completely normal to get caught up in it and feel insecure sometimes. As a dom, I should have been more careful and checked up on you more frequently. And second of all, please, remember that you are very smart, sweet, funny and not to mention incredibly beautiful so there is no way in hell I think lowly of you. Now, did you put that down in your pretty brain of yours?”
“Yes, sir,” you answer enthusiastically and your tears have dried up, instead a bright smile appears on your face. “Thanks for saying that. I guess I really needed to hear it.”
“You don’t have to thank me. Just next time if you happen feel like that, say the safeword and talk to me. About anything, I mean it.”
“You too, Chris. I know that’s particularly hard for you to open up but whatever you tell me, I would never judge you.”
“I know, babygirl,” Chan chuckles softly and does something that further confuses the already blurred lines of your friendship. He kisses you on the lips, deeply and sweetly. Not like how you kiss your best friend but how you kiss a lover.
“Do you want…to come inside?” you offer, not knowing what exactly, considering you just ended a very overwhelming scene.
Actually, you know what you want. You want him to hold you, to watch a dumb movie and eat popcorn together. You want…more than you can have.
“I gotta get some work done,” Chan says with a wince. “I’m really behind on stuff.”
“Is it…my fault?”
“No way. I just can’t stop thinking of…our games even when I’m supposed to be working,” he admits.
Phew. You’re glad he didn’t say he can’t stop thinking of you. If he had, you wouldn’t be able to let him go to work.
“Right. Same here,” you reply dumbly.
“If you need anything and I mean, anything, just give me a call or a text. I’ll keep my phone nearby.”
“You really shouldn’t, I’ll keep annoying you,” you mumble self-consciously.
Chan grips your hand and squeezes it comfortingly.
“You could never annoy me, okay?”
“Okay, daddy,” you say it playfully, eliciting a giggle out of his beautiful mouth.
“Do you have any particular wishes for…you know, next time?”
“I do, but it’s kinda mild compared to what we’ve done already,” you shrug. “Dunno if you’d be into it.”
“Name it and it’s yours,” Chan assures you.
“How do you feel about…fucking me while I’m asleep?”
To be continued…

SOLID WORK; dr jack abbot x dr!reader
words: 4,700+
content warnings: my minimal medical knowledge, doctor humor, abbot’s filthy mouth, some smut, fluff <3
notes: i am so beyond new to this fandom and to tumblr so please stick with me but i couldn’t not write this🫶
・❥・
”Solid work.”
My breathing slows as I start to process the complexity of the procedure I had just performed. I’d probably be blushing at Dr Abbot’s praise if it weren’t for the adrenaline coursing through me.
“That was your save. Not mine.”
Trust me - I am never jumping to credit a man with my work but that was the truth. I may have physically done everything but the idea and the instructions that made it possible were all Dr Abbot.
I look back down at the patient. I tell myself it’s to make sure this is all real. That I really just did that. But if I am being honest it’s to avoid Dr Abbot’s unwavering eye contact.
“Hey-“
He is not gonna let me. I look up to meet his gaze. So rock solid but somehow so warm all at once. He may as well be staring right through me.
He lightly rests his hand on my forearm to stop me from going for the suture. To stop me from giving him anything other than my undivided attention.
“-you are the smartest person in here. Take the win.”
I can’t help the exasperated smile that spreads across my face. He’s right. I’ve only got a couple months left of residency. I should just take the fucking win for once in my life.
Abbot, much to my surprise, smiles back. And he has dimples because of course he does.
He’s calm under pressure, he lies on official paperwork to get a teenage girl the abortion she has every right to, he’s the actual smartest one here, he’s kind to everyone in this ED regardless of the stress he is under, and…he still has his hand on my arm.
His hand. The veins there don’t hurt the eyes either.
We must both realize his lingering touch at the same time because he is clearing his throat and pulling away. He reaches for a surgical instrument he doesn’t need. Picks it up and then puts it down.
I swear there is a faint blush on his cheeks but if I think about that too long one will appear on my own.
“Let Whitaker stitch this up. Go home - get some rest. Your shift ended hours ago.”
“I love Whitaker but he is so slow we may as well let the wound heal all on its own.”
Dr Abbot laughs. Genuinely, truly laughs as we exit out of the trauma bay. So loud that Robby looks over and asks if he’s okay.
Don’t get me wrong. Dr Abbot has a wonderful sense of humor. A wicked one, actually. But it’s one of those dry, witty kinds. Not the animated, giggly kind.
I tell myself it’s not a bad thing that I’m proud to have gotten a good laugh out of him. That it’s not a bad thing that it gave me butterflies. That’s it’s not a bad thing that I am laying in bed wondering how the hell I am going to get him to do that again.
・❥・
Jack lets out a low moan as he recovers. His eyes are dazed, his head slightly tilted back but not so much so that he can’t keep eye contact with me.
His hand that held the makeshift ponytail in my hair starts to massage my scalp as the other hand reaches for my chin and tilts my head up to meet his strong gaze.
Once he’s got me where he wants me, his thumb travels from my chin to my lips, swiping what’s left of his release off of it.
“My good girl. So good for me, yeah?”
My thighs involuntarily clench together at his words. He knows it too. I nod as his thumb presses further into my mouth, my lips wrapping around it.
His mouth quips into a smirk, “Solid work, doctor.”
I roll my eyes and bat his hand away. Standing up from my knees on my own. Ignoring his arms trying to gently guide me up instead.
“That! That is exactly what I am talking about!”
“I have no idea what you’re talking about, baby.”
Jack just laughs as he grabs my wrist, turning me back towards him. He’s quick to have me pinned up against our shower wall - his strong thigh spreading my own apart as he plants long slow kisses across my neck.
“You know exactly what I’m talking about.”
Back when I was a resident, otherwise known as a couple months ago, Jack consistently praised what I was doing by saying “Solid work.”
The way he did always made me dizzy. His voice would drop an octave and he’d look me straight in my eyes while he said it. There is nothing inherently sensual about the phrase but it took me a while to realize he was not complimenting the other residents like that.
Him saying it during sex started as a joke. Harkening back to when, as he puts it, I was so painfully oblivious to his flirting. To which I responded, “That was flirting?”.
He said it again to me at work the next day. Being completely and utterly genuine. I don’t even remember what I did but I did it well and he is always the first to acknowledge that. So he was confused when I just huffed in annoyance and peeled out of the room without so much of a glance at him.
I wasn’t annoyed at him. I was annoyed that now all I could think about was him. His hands, his biceps, his tongue. Everything. And I still had six hours of my shift to go.
He followed me into the on-call room I was going to find some refuge in. He locked the door behind him - closed the curtain for good measure.
“What’s wrong? Are you okay?”
And then I felt bad. He thought something was actually wrong. That no way I’d ever brush him off like that when he was just trying to compliment me unless something was seriously wrong.
His eyes bored into mine, genuine concern and love pouring out of them. And here I was just being a brat.
I tried to be sly about the way my eyes trailed the veins bulging out of his biceps. I tried to be sly about the way I was imagining my hands tugging on his salt and pepper curls that were just slightly askew from a couple hours work. Unfortunately for me, Jack can read me like a book.
“Did you just stomp out of the ED because you’re needy?” Jack couldn’t contain the grin that spread across his face at the realization.
“Well maybe if you weren’t always going Mr Christian Gray on me with the praise-“
“I don’t even know who that is but all I said was ‘Solid work’-“
Jack stops himself as he remembers the past couple nights. When he was saying the same thing in a much different context.
I can’t say I’m entirely innocent. Or innocent at all really. I love throwing in a ‘sir’ every now and again at work to tease Jack. So he does the same to me with other phrases - constantly.
And he said the same thing in that on-call room that he is saying to me right now, “But what I do know is how fucking wet you are for me. So stop pouting and let me taste you, yeah?”
He swipes a finger through my soaked folds before he’s the one sinking down to his knees as I try to keep mine from buckling.
・❥・
“Solid work, Dr Abbot.”
I smile down at my sparkling new engagement ring and then up at the love of my life.
“Seriously? You can tease but I can’t?”
“What’s that saying again? Happy wife, happy life?”
Neither of us can wipe the huge grins off of our faces. No one knows we’re engaged yet. Just how we wanted it.
A couple of months ago, right after I had taken an attending job at The Pitt, Jack had broached the topic of marriage. We’d talked about it before. We both knew we were spending the rest of our lives together. But we hadn’t actually talked about the timeline of it all - the logistics.
Jack was always extremely hyper aware about how our relationship affected me. He didn’t want it to interfere with my career or all of my hard work. So as much as he would’ve walked down the aisle six months ago, he wanted everything to be on my terms.
“Hypothetically - if I were to propose, say within the next month - would you say yes?”
“Hypothetically - if I ever say no to a marriage proposal from you - please get me a psychiatry consult.”
Jack laughed - in an airy way where you could tell he was relieved. I kissed him. There was no universe in which I ever said no to a proposal from him.
He pestered me with questions. He wanted direction but not so much so that I wouldn’t be surprised when the time came.
I told him I didn’t want anything fancy. No big party although I did want to have a small gathering with our friends and family at some point afterwards. A nice sized diamond but not gaudy. No grand gestures - just him being him is all that I wanted.
And he executed perfectly. Because when does he not. It was our first night in the new home we had bought. He said we could get a hotel while we waited for our furniture to be delivered. But I wanted to do one night with no furniture, an air mattress, some candles, and a pizza delivery.
“Like camping.” I had said.
“You hate camping.”
I laughed because he was right but he obliged me anyways. He carried me over the threshold and I made a joke about how he’s got to be careful - being old and all.
Then he carried me right over to the air mattress, said something like “Can an old man do this?” and went on to coax four orgasms from me - one from his fingers, one from his tongue, one from his thigh, and finally one from where I wanted him most.
When we were done, I threw on one of his old tshirts and a pair of boxers. He just had on an old pair of sweats and a white tee. We stared into each others eyes like two lovesick teenagers until he said “Come here - I gotta show you something.”
“Babe, the house is empty.”
“Get over here smart ass.”
Jack picked up a candle and lead us over to the fireplace. He set the candle on the mantle as I read what was now engraved into the stone ‘The Abbots - Est 2025’
“So this is why you were getting all of those random tools from Amazon.”
Ever the handy man he is. Then he was on his knee. His bad one. To which I told him he didn’t have to do that. And then he said he would even if it killed him. And I think I said something stupid like “Not on my watch.”
I don’t even remember what he said after that. He doesn’t either. We both blacked out from sheer happiness. All I really remember is him asking me to do him the honor of being his wife and me pulling him up off of his knee and saying ‘Duh!’ as fast I could before kissing him. Over and over and over again until that air mattress was just a deflated extension of the wood floor beneath it.
・❥・
Dana’s hand rests on my thigh gently. My leg stops shaking. My mind doesn’t stop racing though.
I'm not an anxious person. If anything, I can be relaxed to a fault. But I am an intuitive person - and something is wrong.
Where is he?
“Relax. When is that man ever late?”
“That’s why I’m worried.”
You would think I didn't have my own license or car the way Jack insists on driving me everywhere. He tells me it is to keep our insurance from being sky high. I may or may not be a bit accident prone when behind the wheel. I tell him it's because he's obsessed with me. He always huffs a laugh and murmurs something about two things being true at once.
The Pitt makes sense. Ever since Jack started taking on more day shifts to balance out our conflicting schedules, a lot of times we are arriving and leaving here together. But on the off chance we are not, he is still picking me up. Always with some kind of treat in hand - usually a McDonalds Diet Coke much to Jack's dismay.
Jack takes the saying 'If you're not early - you're late' far more seriously than anyone I have ever met. The day shift typically gets off at 7 PM which means he is usually here to gossip with Robby on the roof by 6:35 PM.
“Go - take a case! He’ll be here to pick you up before you know it.”
My dissents are quickly met with Dana shooing me from the nurses station and personally squaring my shoulders to the board.
I haven’t even read the first name when Robby appears at my shoulder.
“Where is your fiancé?”
“Say that any louder and you’re going to be my next patient.”
“Yeah because you two are so inconspicuous with the whispering and the giggling and the big honking rock on your finger and the-“
“-disappearing to 'clean' the on-call room.” Dana finishes Robby’s sentence as they both double over in laughter.
Dana, Robby, and Collins are the only people in the ED that know about Jack and I’s relationship.
Collins knew I had feelings for Jack before I even let myself go there. Robby knew Jack had feelings for me before he let himself go there. So they took matters into their own hands.
Collins had a $100 on Jack breaking first. Robby $100 on me. And he had an extra $100 to spare when he bribed Dr Ellis to ask me to take her night shift for a week. Oh, how that backfired on him.
Three shifts later and Robby was $200 in the hole.
Six months later, I was moved out of my city apartment and into Jack's house.
Dana offered to drive me home after shift one night. Because it was cold and rainy and my apartment was close by. My apartment that I no longer lived in.
Jack wasn’t picking me up - he was out of town at a conference. I insisted on taking an uber, the bus, walking - anything that meant not explaining to Dana why my new address was the same as Dr Abbot's. She wouldn't take no for an answer and yelled "Oh, I knew it! Bridget owes me $100!" when I finally fessed up.
One year later, almost to the day that Robby had to pony up on his bet with Collins, I had an engagement ring on my finger.
Tonight, after he picks me up, Jack and I are going to pilates together.
It was only a matter of time before Robby and Collins gave it another go and I bet Jack that Robby would fold before Collins.
What's the point in betting money when we share a bank account? Seeing Jack in the pink pilates grippy socks he does not know I got him will be priceless.
“Well, when you find him please tell him that he is late for our date on the roof."
"Stop dragging him up there - you already have a date tonight!"
"Yeah, one in which I need his advice on."
"Oh please, you're talking to the wrong Abbot if you need advice on how to woo Collins." Dana interjects. Not everyone in the ED knows about Jack and I but they do know Heather and I are best friends.
"Oh, I wasn't aware you two had tied the knot already. Do you want me to change your name on the board? I can do that right now actually. Does HR know? It'll just take a moment-" Robby teases.
I grab the remote out of Robby's hands as he laughs, "Okay fine - go have your little roof date but do not take long!"
"Well, we'd already be done if he wasn't late. Where is he by the way? He is never late for anything.”
“Yeah, don’t remind me.”
I step forward, my elbows on the counter of the nurses station and my head now in my hands as I groan.
“Relax. It’s Jack - we couldn’t keep him away from this place even if we wanted to. Especially with you in here.” Robby squeezes my shoulder and is off to what I assume to be the roof.
I check my watch before I stand back up to scan the board for real this time - 6:50 PM.
Where is he?
I pull my phone from my pocket. There’s no new message from Jack lighting up my home screen but I open up our conversation anyways.
From Jack: I miss you
From Jack: I can’t believe Langdon is getting to hang out with you right now and not me
From Jack: If you stay at that damn hospital any longer we’re gonna have to start forwarding all these packages you order there
Little does he know one of those many packages holds his new pilates socks.
To Jack: Oh please - as if more than half aren’t all your little go bag gadgets
To Jack: And to think our colleagues think I’m the drama queen
“Incoming - Trauma 1!”
I’m happy for the distraction. I’m gowned, gloved, and ready to go before the patient is even rolled in.
The doors to Trauma 1 fly open - but not with a patient. Just Dana.
“I’m going to get Robby! You should not have to do this.” Dana is staring pointedly at me before she’s off. I don’t even get a chance to respond.
Weird. I know I’ve only been an attending for a couple months but Dana had more confidence in me on my first day as an intern than she did just now.
I now understand why as the patient is rolled in front of me.
There he is.
Unconscious. Cold. Clammy. And slightly bloody from a small cut on his forehead.
My world stops.
“Heart attack.” Langdon is here.
Somehow all I can think of is Jack’s text from earlier. I want to laugh but I can’t. What if I never get one again? I’m supposed to see him in pink pilates socks tonight. Not in a body bag.
“CLEAR!”
Suddenly all the pieces from the past couple days are coming together and I cannot believe I didn’t catch it sooner. Can’t believe he didn’t catch it sooner!
“CLEAR!”
His dizziness. The increase in massages of his amputated leg. The quick heart beat. The rash.
I hear the commotion around me. But I’m not processing any of it until it’s directed at me.
“I said CLEAR! Move!”
This cant be happening. So I decide that it’s not going to.
“No!” My voice comes out way more feeble than I meant. Way more feeble than anyone in this ED has ever heard me.
“Well I hope you enjoyed being Abbot’s favorite because you’re going to kill him and your career in one go.”
“Langdon - he is not having a heart attack.”
“Yes he is!”
“No he isn’t - take off his leg!”
“Take off his leg?! Okay, you’re literally going insane. And I’m supposed to report to you?! I know I went to rehab but oh my gosh - CLEAR!”
“I’m going to clear you out of this trauma bay if you do not get out of my way.”
You know how they say a new mom could lift a car off of her new born baby? I’m pretty sure that’s the phenomenon I am experiencing right now. I don’t exactly know what other worldly force is taking over me right now but I do not question it. I am watching myself from outside of my body as I spring into action.
I shove Langdon to the side as I lift up Jack’s pant leg to remove his prosthetic. The prosthetic that noone else in this room would’ve known he had.
He doesn’t keep it a secret but he doesn’t exactly advertise it either. Especially when he refuses to sit down on a double shift. Ironically enough, that’s probably why he is on this table.
I spot what I’m looking for immediately but Langdon is the one who speaks it out loud, “Pressure ulcer - he’s in septic shock.”
“Thanks for finally using your brain Dr Langdon but we’re going to be using mine from here on out.”
“Blood ox is 91.” Someone yells. I don’t know who. What I do know is that 91 is dangerously low.
“Scalpel.” I demand.
“What are you going to do?”
“We need to drain this fluid before his organs start to fail.”
The first and only time Jack taught me this procedure it was his save. Now it has to be mine.
I tell myself that one day we will be sitting in front of our engraved fireplace. Old. Like, actually old. Not the fake old that Jack tries to pretend he is. With kids and grandkids - telling them the story of how Jack saved his own life through the transitive property. So I better get to work.
“Scalpel. Now.”
Langdon slams the scalpel into my hand. I ignore the looks around the room. The looks that say ‘The only person qualified to perform something like this in an ED is the patient’.
“Your funeral. And his.” I ignore Langdon.
I must have cut the most perfect incisions of my life. Performed the most flawless procedure anyone has ever seen from me. I don’t remember any of it.
The loud beeping slows. His blood pressure rises. Then his blood oxygen. Then the bag I drained is full and being disposed of by Dana.
When did she get here?
Robby’s hand is on my shoulder, trying to pull me away.
When did he get here?
I hear him tell Whitaker to get a suture and close up the wound. Oh, the irony. Credit where credit is due - Whitaker has gotten much quicker under Jack’s patient teaching. Thank fucking goodness.
I think of the first real laugh I got out of Jack. My eyes start to tear up but I stop myself. I will hear that laugh again. Over and over and over again. So much so that I would get sick of it if that was even possible.
Robby is apologizing profusely into my ear. He has nothing to be sorry for. But I can’t manage any words. So I just let him move me out of Whittaker’s way but I do not leave Jack’s side.
I can’t seem to register anything beyond Jack’s face that I’m seemingly trying to force into consciousness with my stare alone.
“Where the hell did you learn that?”
My head turns to Whitaker at his question but it swivels so fast back to Jack I think I give myself whiplash. Because I don’t speak - he does.
“Solid work, doctor.”
I’ve never been happier to hear those words come out of his mouth.
“Oh my god.” My hand clamps over my mouth as my head dips to Jack’s chest, my arms wrapping around his shoulders.
My adrenaline tank plummets to zero and I am absolutely sobbing into Jack’s chest. Whatever was coursing through my veins during that procedure is coming out in what feels like gallons of tears and hiccups.
I don’t care who’s in the room. I don’t care that everyone is slack jawed and staring and so beyond confused. I don’t care that out of the corner of my eye I see Perlah slapping a $100 into Princess’s palm.
All I care is that Jack’s hand has found its way into my hair and when I place my shaking hand on top of it to make sure it’s real - it is. Even better - it’s warm and dexterous and alive.
He’s alive and he’s here.
He gently guides my head out of his chest. I lift my chin up to look at him - give him the eye contact I know he is seeking. That we both are.
“Baby - I’m okay. I’m okay, I’m safe, I’m here. I’m not going anywhere.”
His voice is as steady as ever. His heart beat matching it. The beat that was so faint what seems like moments ago.
I let it calm me down. I place a kiss to his chest and lean up to do the same to his forehead. My hand tangles in his salt and pepper curls as I hold his sweaty forehead to my lips and then bring my own forehead down to meet his. I close me eyes and breath him in.
He’s alive and he’s here.
“Welcome back, brother.” Robby manages to choke out through a couple tears of his own.
“Just wanted to make sure you guys weren’t getting lazy at the end of your shift.”
We all crack a smile but only Robby speaks, “Does this mean I have to work a double?”
“Not if you go park my car. It’s in the ambulance bay.”
I speak a full sentence for what feels like the first time in days, “You drove here?”
“We had a date. Plus, I wasn’t feeling quite right.” Jack nods down towards his amputated leg like it’s nothing but a minor inconvenience.
I dig into his pocket and toss Robby his keys. Robby calls for a CT and a room with a bed before ushering himself and everyone else out to give us some privacy.
“And how are you feeling now?”
“I’m feeling like I’d like to make the woman who just saved my life my wife.”
My hand immediately flies to the small cut on his forehead. The blood dry and crusty, “How hard did you hit your head? We’re already engaged.”
Jack chuckles, places his hand on mine and squeezes, “I barely hit my head when I fell out of the car. I’m fine - I just really don't want to live another moment without being able to call myself your husband.”
So we don’t. Not really anyways. I make Jack get every fucking scan in the book that I think we hit our insurance deductible in under an hour. He humors me by lying in the bed in one of the ER rooms as I pump a myriad of fluid and antibiotics into him.
After a few hours his blood oxygen is perfect. So is his blood pressure and his heart rate. I don’t think I’ve taken my eyes off of him once. Or my hands. Running my hands through his hair, caressing his forehead, squeezing his forearm. Just to reassure myself he is here.
He understands what I’m doing. Hears what I cannot say. He grabs my hand on its next pass through his hair and presses a kiss to every single knuckle before speaking, “Baby, I’m sorry I scared you. I scared myself honestly. But I promise, I am not going anywhere. Ever. And I am so sorry you had to go through that. You should have never had to operate on me. I don’t know how you did that. I mean if it was flipped. If I saw you come in like that-“
His voice falters, his bottom lip quivers and he pulls me into the tightest hug as we both begin to cry. I think if we could crawl into eachothers skin, we would.
We stay there like that for a while. Until Jack grabs my face, kisses every single part of it, then whispers “I love you so much but I think if you pump anymore fluid into me you’re going to water board me.”
As if on cue, Robby whips the curtain open, “To the roof we go!”
“You can’t be serious.”
Robby holds up some kind of certificate as Collins and Dana round the corner.
In the hours I spent nursing Jack back to health, I went to the bathroom one time. And only because I hadn’t gone the last four hours of my shift and I own a huge water bottle.
In that one bathroom break, Jack had managed to get Robby ordained online and enlisted Dana and Collins to ‘decorate’ the roof.
We’re still gonna have our wedding ceremony and the reception and the whole ordeal. But I agree with him - I can’t go another second not married to him. Not after today.
So we go up to the roof. Jack still in his hospital gown and me in my scrubs. Robby officiates, Dana sings because she can’t help herself, and Collins ‘witnesses’ which really means crying.
Jack is kissing me before Robby can even say, “You may kiss your bride.”
When we come up for air, Robby claps both of us on the back and says, “Solid work, you two.”
I just kiss my husband again. Because he is alive and he is here
