i saw on another site some old posts about you doing racist posts and fetishizing and blocking people who call you out but i haven't seen any of that on your blog or twitter. what's that about?

Okay, nonny, you aren’t attacking me which is more than I can say for a lot of the anons I’ve been getting lately, so I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt and answer as though you’re not just trying to create trouble.

But this? What you’re doing here? Please don’t do it again. If someone is talking about me behind my back elsewhere, I don’t need to know about it. If someone wants to criticize me, they can do it to my face. Don’t bring random, unsourced drama to my blog. Thank you.

If someone has an issue with me, and they put their name on it, I will 100% attempt to take the criticism to heart and fix wherever I misstepped. If they do it anonymously they better make sure it’s something actually about me and what I’ve said or done; in which case, again, I will 100% try to fix whatever I’ve done and do better henceforth.

However, if they just want to send vague anon hate attacking my age, my weight, my (presumed) sexuality or whatever, I will simply delete and block. Like I did the anon I received a few days ago, and the one I received a few days before that. I’m over here trying to have a good time and I have no time for trolls and dramamongering.

Now, in answer to your question, I don’t know specifically what that’s about. As far as I know, the only beef someone has had with me was regarding a post I made a few months ago.

I did a comparison between Clace and Malec kisses to try to demonstrate the way the LGBT content was being “sanitized” (darker lighting, more distant camera angles, shots obscured by arms and shoulders an scenery, shorter duration, etc) in comparison to the het content (brighter lighting, closer camera angles, fewer obscured shots, longer, more long, lingering shots.)

However I was careless and flip in my presentation and it gave some people the wrong impression. Totally my bad. I should have been more mindful.

Someone saw my post and assumed I was commenting on the desexualization of Asian men, which is not something I would do because hello? I’m white and that’s totally not my lane. So I apologized, thanked that person for the callout, and edited the post to apologize for my carelessness and insensitivity and try to make it clearer that my issue was with the sanitization of LGBT content only. I also individually contacted everyone who had reblogged the unedited version of the post and asked them to delete it so it wouldn’t spread.

However, I had to deal with several weeks of anonymous harassment that had nothing to do with my post. As I said above, they were attacking my age, my weight, my looks, just random misogynist crap that I had no interest in indulging.

And so I went back to all the conversation that happened around that post to try to see if there was someone whose concerns I had missed addressing, to see if that was what was fueling the problem.

What I discovered was that the person who had called me out had also tweeted an invitation to their followers to “go shut this fool down” (or something like that, I don’t remember the exact quote.)

At that point, I blocked the person in question, because inviting your followers to go harass someone is really just some Cassandra Clare level internet assholery and I have no time for it.

But as far as I know, that’s the only issue that has come up.

I know I am by no means above being called out. If I misstep, I want to know so I can apologize and fix it. I don’t want to hurt and offend anyone and if I do, I want to make it right as quickly as possible.

But anon hate, trolling, that sort of thing? That stuff I’ll just delete and block unanswered.
