Okay so I don’t think Mew is like. Fully dating Ray or anything.

I think that Mew spent weeks trying to see if Top was right for him. He literally had a checklist. He wanted to make sure that Top would fit into his life. He wanted to make sure Top was “right”. He did everything he could to try and make sure he wouldn’t get hurt.

So imagine doing all that. And then finding out that even with all the careful vetting. He still got his heart broken. Top broke his trust. With one of his friends no less.

So I took Mew saying. Well that didn’t work out. Maybe you are the right one for me. To be an emotionally distraught Mew, being like. “Well last time when I listened to my heart and really tried to see if this guy was the one. It didn’t work out. So obviously I’m always completely wrong and have terrible judgement. So maybe I’m fighting against Ray for no reason and I should ignore the voice in my head saying. RAY IS WRONG FOR YOU AND YOU KNOW IT.”

Like we know Mew can be insecure. And after all this I feel like he has lost some confidence when it comes to his ability to read people. And dating in general. So going against his best judgement probably seems like the most logical idea.

Also I think you’re getting a lot of messages because you’re like a beacon of actually liking Top that doesn’t really exist outside of a few people in the only friends tag.

i agree that they're not, for lack of a better term, going steady yet. it's one of the reasons why i have a hard time believing that this isn't a revenge tactic on mew's part, but i totally concede that it's also possible that he's jumping in because he no longer trusts his judgement, especially right after top hit him :( your whole world can get turned on its head with a betrayal like that. if i'm still right about mew being "in character," it could be a "fake it till you make it" type thing. if anything, mew could just be trying him on if it truly comes from a moment of weakness.

we'll see, and hopefully we get to learn the truth in the next episode. i don't know how much longer i can take topmew being on bad terms 😭 thanks for dropping in, anon!

So one day after I mention the velocity of the holiday season, additional proof shows up that, yes, November really is movin'. We are, in fact, right now in the Adding Things part of our holiday schedule. A little something just added this month that lasts into part of next month. And a special something also just added into the middle of next month. Both are somethings we're very much looking forward to.

The trick, of course, isn't the adding of awesome experiences to our holidays. The trick is to enjoy these experiences, all of them, including the actual holidays themselves. Which becomes a taller and taller order the further into the holidays we get.

There are ways and ways of doing that, of course. Managing expectations is one. Boundaries is another. Ability to Tetris Time is yet another.

There's a list.

I think, though, in no particular order but first and foremost... that it helps to remember what season we're in. If for no other reason than it provides an obvious clue to the vibe we're trying to capture. And I get it. If there's some other vibe you wanna embody... keep that at the front of your awareness. Because whatever it is, I guarantee you it's easy to lose sight of our intentions amidst the natural juggling required by this time of year... every year.

In our case of November, that vibe's gonna be Thankfulness. Although a compelling argument can be made how that should be our vibe every month.

Still, there's this tradition in November that happens to be our tradition in November because we grew up with that tradition in November. And we see no reason to replace or abandon it.

So Thankfulness is our vibe. Should be our vibe. Or let's just say it's what we're aiming for. And, in a perfectly led life, every decision we make about our time and this season would flow from that.

Now.

Do we lead perfect lives?

Oh my my my...

No.

Which is both why we have to consciously embrace our intentions and...

Okay. The second and final item on my aforementioned first and foremost list:

We have to be honest about emotions that are mutually exclusive.

For example...

Thankfulness and Anger can't share the same body.

Thankfulness and Anxiety can't share the same body.

Thankfulness and Arrogance can't share the same body.

Oh... of course they do share the same body.

Of course they do.

But it's a zero-sum game.

You embrace one to the expense of the other. So Anger, Anxiety, Arrogance, and a host of other emotions rob our ability for, for example, Thankfulness. They steal from our Humility. They drain our Compassion.

Not a huge deal of course if you're not trying to embrace Thankfulness, Humility, or Compassion. But if you are...

Perhaps you see my point.

Particular emotions can and do tip you off to something you're doing wrong by your own measure of such things. And they can and do tip you off to what you're doing right. Again, by your own measure of such things.

So yeah. In a way, these last two months of the year are a Jenga Tower we're building. And the question we're obligated to ask ourselves in order to create and facilitate the experience we wish to share in this holiday season is...

After many excruciating hours, your hair stylist finally finished doing your box braids, adding cute little beads to the ends of them.

Bakugou was sitting outside the salon, in the car. You told him that your next hairstyle would be a surprise, thus not allowing him to come outside.

Once you payed the stylist, you texted Katsuki that she was done and you were coming out. He quickly snapped his head up to see your hair.. And there you were, orange box braids swinging with your movements, the green bomb-beads making a clicky sound as you walked to his car.

He muttered a small “damn”, it was like a broken tape, he replayed the scene in his head— until you broke him out of his trance, you knocked on the window, signifying him to unlock the door.

And that’s where the staring began, as soon as you sat down, his eyes were locked on you— eyes full of love and adoration, unlike his usual furious and hateful ones.

“I’m guessing you like it..?” You said, breaking the silence.

You watched Katsuki gently inspect a braid, calloused hands grazing over the bomb-shaped beads.

“I love it.” His eyes flickering up to yours, a pink tint brushing over the apples of his cheeks to the tips of his ears.

It was then that you knew that ever second of the pain was worth it, just so you could see Katsuki all soft like this.

He was on patrol, as he had to work an extra shift today, so he wouldn’t be able to see it immediately.

“Andddd done!!” Mina exclaims, handing you a handheld mirror.

“Woah..” You loved the charms she added to your red and black butterfly locs, “You think he’ll like it?”

“Pfttt, of course he will!! You look like a 5-course meal, bae. Now shoo shoo” She emphasized the last bit, swiping her hands at you.

“Thanks, Mi-Mi” You placed her money on the table. Gathering your belongings, you left.

Once you arrived home, you got a text from Eijiro saying that he was on his way home, perfect.

Before long, you heard his car pull into the driveway— you quickly made your way to the bathroom mirror, touching up your appearance until he comes in.

You heard the door click open, followed by your boyfriend’s voice,

Izuku had been patrolling longer all week, leaving up from the crack of dawn, coming back once the city was asleep.

As a cause of this, he hasn’t been able to see you often. The only alone time you get is whilst you sleep, although he would have to (reluctantly) get up in a few hours.

You wanted to surprise him with a new hairstyle for one of his many birthday presents from you, since it was coming up soon.

“Mei, are you almost finished yet?” You whined, reaching for the sections of hair yet to be braided.

“Baby if I was finished, you would know” She replies, popping your hand with the comb.

In the meantime, you turn on your Sunday R&B playlist on the speaker in you and Izuku’s shared home, humming along to the tunes.

Once Mei left, you started on dinner, assuming that Izuku wouldn’t be home until later on tonight and that its a lovely time to have dinner together for the first time in a while.

You sang along to your playlist, the fact that it was 20 hours long saving you from a silent house.

“Honestly I’m tryna stay focused..” Hips swaying as you cooked the red beans and rice. You were so caught up in singing that you didn’t hear the front door open.

You finished up the greens, twirling like a child to their favorite song, your green passion braids moving with you.

“You..your hair is pretty” He said, taking off his gloves. He sat on the island chairs, a small blush forming on his tan cheeks.

You hum, turning off the stovetop. No matter how old you both got, he still got flustered at the thought of you.

You turn and face him, placing a quick kiss on his forehead.

He would give anything for these nights where the two of you could sit quietly together as the sky darkens.

It was a good idea, and you wanted to see his reaction, so here you are, on the millionth hour of getting your hair done.

It felt like she kept making endless sections, but you were patient, knowing that this would eventually pay off.

After a while, she finally finished, handing you a small mirror.

It looked exactly what you asked for, black and silver goddess braids with gold highlights.

You payed her and gave her a tip before quickly walking out, excited to see your boyfriends face at your new hair.

Typing this on my school computer because I’m bored and I’ve finished my work. Just saw your announcement about having a holiday, so I'll be writing all the parts but I'll send them in one at a time so they dont get muddled up in your inbox.

So, where were we? Yn has received a gift from a secret admirer and is now on a quest to figure out who this secret admirer is. After harassing a chocolaterie employee into telling you who bought the chocolates, you have narrowed it down to 5 people. Specifically 5 members of the volleyball team 😏. Honestly, kinda girlboss🤔. You went from an entire school being on your suspect list to just 5 people. I respect you for not just waiting for whoever it is to come to you, you’re about to go to them. Because the volleyball team DOES need a manager and who better than you? (a lot of people but hey, you’re the most fun🤪) One small hitch😬. You don’t really know a lot about volleyball.

Yeah, that’s gonna be a problem. You watched an anime about volleyball 😏 one time but you were too busy staring at the hot characters to really focus on the rules of the game. But hey, you’re a smart person yn. Even if you don’t understand sport, you DO understand maths 😌 and maybe an olive branch in the form of some spreadsheets and data about their games will impress their grumpy coach into letting you be the manager. Then you can start messing with the boys to see who slips up and spills the beans first😏. A truly foolproof plan. Unfortunately, life doesn’t go to plan.😬

Now we cut to the next day, where the boys are practising in the gym. Ushijima just finished his round of spikes and is having a drink by the benches, Semi is glaring at Tendou 🤪 who keeps making faces at him between blocks, Shirabu is very tired and wants a break from setting, because not only was he just setting for Ushijima, now he has to deal with Goshiki, who's just starting his round of spikes. Now Shirabu could have just kept his mouth shut and NOT provoked Goshiki but hey, he’s been working the whole afternoon and he’s still annoyed at him for taking the last of chocolate coated caramels when they went to that chocolaterie last week. 🙄 So it really wasn’t his fault that he said-

“Are you still warming up? Ushijima’s spikes were way better than yours.” 😐

Okay TO BE FAIR, Shirabu thought that this would just make Goshiki hit sloppier spikes, so the coach would start yelling at him and he could have a nice break from setting. But no. Goshiki proceeds to glare at Shirabu while considering violence, but considering Ushijima is there, he thinks again.

I’ll just hit an amazing spike! 🤩 The best he’s ever seen! 😡 I’ll dent the floor and Ushijima will tell me how cool I am 😍 and- (not the greatest logic, but that’s fine. For the moment😮‍💨)

See, the problem with being annoyed at someone you’re playing sport with is that the moment you try to do something awesome to shut them up, you completely forget the more important technical parts of the sport. Like, I don’t know, where the ball is aiming😬? So does Goshiki hit an amazingly strong spike. Yes! (of course😊) Does it land within the court? No. 😐(If you’ve read enough of mother’s headcanons you know where this is going.)The ball goes flying past Tendou’s hands, straight towards the closed gym door. Or at least it was closed a second before.

“Excuse me, can I-” 😊🥺

BAM! Goshiki’s monster spike hits you directly in the face, sending you tumbling back, splayed starfish style across the ground, looking very much dead. 💀☠️💀

There is silence for a moment as you try to comprehend what just happened. 😦😧😨😱

*Hysterical sobbing* “I KILLED YN!” (Spoiler alert, he did not) 😭😭😭

As you lie on the ground in defeat, reconsidering your life choices, a face suddenly pops into view and a shoe nudges your side. 🤨

As you lift your head, you are greeted with the sight of 4 volleyball players standing around you, with a 5th curled up in a ball crying, while being angrily berated by the coach. 😡🤬😡

“What was your reason for coming to the gym?” 😐

“Ushijima, she just got hit by a volleyball, I don’t think she should be answering questions.” 😬

Now. Obviously this does not seem like an ideal situation HOWEVER you see the opportunity in this moment and burst into tears 😭. Which is very easy because taking a ball to the face hurts like a bitch (i should know, I played netball for 4 years and I had to be taken off multiple times for crying because i got hit in the face).

“I’m s-sorry. I was just c-coming here to ask if you g-guys were looking for a new m-manager.”

Lay it on thick yn, make them feel guilty😏🤭. By this time Coach Washijo’s joined the boys at the entrance of the gym. Sniffling you get to your feet, picking up your perfectly curated spreadsheets as you sway slightly on your feet. You hand the papers to him as you mumble out what they are. Now Coach is in a difficult position. Because on the one hand, he would have liked to hand pick out a manager who he is certain can do the job to the best of their ability.😇 But on the other hand, you just got hit by a volleyball and handed him a pretty awesome looking spreadsheet😬.

“Well, we are… Look, how about you go to the nurses office and tomorrow you come to practice and we can discuss you being the new manager.”😮‍💨

“Thank you!” That was truly masterful yn. Maybe getting hit with a volleyball was for the best?🤔

there’s a chance, that maybe, just maybe, that all of your likes/interactions across social media is more concentrated on the smaller amount of posts because your ship has less content overall (i think this might be true with the varchie videos, there are less of them so the hit count gets concentrated overall) whereas bughead has a much larger reach. now, true, that requires simple logic to be applied and realizing the trends of concentrations of demographics being used across each social media site along with users creating multiple accounts, etc. 

(no, this obvs doesn’t include social data for other sites like twitter and insta, i don’t even use instagram and my twitter is professional in capacity, i’m not on there liking pics or commenting on entertainment media)

Since we're talking about the manga let's start with:

*AOT MANGA SPOILERS*

Okay, so, before I actually read the ending, I knew how the characters would end up, who's still alive, and I was fine with that! I mean, I didn't expect everyone to survive and it made sense for Eren to die and I definitely prefer that over the first ending Isayama thought which was to kill everyone like in the movie 'The Mist'! But I did think it was rushed and some parts made no sense at all!

The Ymir-is-in-love-with-the-king thing didn't work for me! Stockholm syndrome yes, but love? Also her dying meant she lost the will to live so From what he showed us about her past, I couldn't see the love! It could be possible if it was written in a different way tho and he said that in the anime we will get some more scenes about Ymir's past and hopefully when the final part of season 4 comes out next year, it might be better explained!

There are so many other things! For example, Mikasa killing Eren set Ymir free and Levi killing Zeke so Eren wouldn't have the 'royal blood'! Doesn't make sense! Since Eren hugged her and she gave him her power she should have been free! Zeke was no longer needed, he was just the key to get Eren to the paths so killing him shouldn't make a difference! And Ymir already went against Zeke's wishes so she broke free of her slavery, she shouldn't need Mikasa killing Eren for that! 🤔

I feel like it was worst for Eren's character! He seemed so collected and like he knew what he was doing only to find out that he was a slave from the start and just did what Ymir wanted without understanding! He wasn't even the 'chosen one', Mikasa was! I think, Eren should have been a true villain, he completely lost himself fighting for freedom and had to be stopped by Mikasa and his friends! So he would still end up a 'slave' but this time to his ideas and desires! And also kinda like Erwin! Remember when Levi chose Armin over Erwin? He said something like Erwin had to become the devil to get them this far and it was time for him to rest and that's how I saw Eren too! Idk, I'm still trying to make sense of it!

I did read an alternate ending made by fans! It's about the last three chapters of the manga, there are two parts and I think there might be one more but I'm not sure! It's called AoT no Requiem and so far it's really good! You should check it out if you want, it's quite interesting!

Favourite season? Hmm idk, I love them all! I really liked the 3rd one, especially the battle of Shiganshina and part 1 of season 4! Also the soundtrack of the anime is soo good! It was my top 5 on Spotify wrapped last year! What do you think of the anime?

But, yes! Let's discuss:

AOT Manga spoilers under the cut ->

So, first off. I 100% agree. I think AoT suffers with a serious case of 'Author bit off more than he could chew' disease. It happens a lot with large narratives (The most popular one in recent memory is probably GOT), where the story just becomes too big and complicated to handle and so, it gets messy. Things that don't make sense happen, arcs' are abandoned, characters thrown away and mis-used etc. A lot of the time it’s unavoidable, I get it, but still... Once that first objective is achieved: 'Kill all the titans', the whole thing goes sideways. Personally, I would have ended the entire thing with the discovery of the cellar and the beach and altered certain character arcs,l and plot points, while leaving other things (largely the outside world) unknown... I feel like that's a nice cutting off point.

The later parts, for me, are chronically underdeveloped and I think the plot loses itself entirely. The Marley arc doesn't work. It's strangely late to introduce a whole host of new characters and to expect us to care, especially when we already have a group of characters we've already spent literal years with at this point back on Paradis. If Reiner wasn't such an intensely magnetic character the whole thing wouldn't have had a leg to stand on; because Reiner carries that entire thing on his shoulders and he does it well, considering.

Ymir - I think - should have been kept as a mythic being. Including her as an actual character confused things and as you said - completely undermined Eren at the end. I know it takes a lot to totally destroy your protagonist, but Eren was perfect for it. He had the right kind of violent passion and untameable motivation to make it a smooth change and he's well established enough that it wouldn't turn the audience against him. Just like Erwin, as Levi said - you're right. And the interlacing of the titans and paths works to rob most of the characters of their autonomy in a bad way, I think…

The lore on a whole is super confusing and is honestly just unneeded. Which in turn effects both the plot and the characters. I feel like the later parts of the story totally lost their suspense? And all the character deaths sort of fell flat? (This is to say, I'm not over Hange and I will never be over Hange. That felt so fucking unneeded and they're such a fucking amazing character to be shoved into a titan's mouth with a 'Oh, Well I'm the commander so I guess I've gotta be the self-sacrificing'. No it doesn't make it better that they took down several colossals before hand, they deserved so much more than that. Anyway. Sorry. I get passionate about character deaths.)

The soundtrack goes hard! I'll agree to that! But, my favourite season will always be season one! I like the anime a lot until that beach scene - which is season three? I think? But, I really don't like the new art style. I just don't vibe with it at all... Except for Armin. They went off with Armin. Everything else, I'm just not game for.

On a whole, not a fan of the ending, but I did like the larger stokes. Levi killing Zeke was a nice wrap up (and that scene with Levi and his comrades? YES!), as was Mikasa killing Eren (although, all the Ackerman stuff? I just - 😅). I liked the effort to meld both sides together - my favourite of which is probably in the aftermath of Sasha's death, with the chef - I forget his name - and the people in Sasha's life from Paradis and then Reiner's character - I fell in love with him over the last arc, but apart from that... Yeah...
