How did you (yes, you, the mutual and/or other Tumblr user reading this) get into Monty Python?

To elaborate, what is your Monty Python Fan Origin Story? To further elaborate, how did you become aware of and become a fan of Monty Python? Tag 6 or more (or less, it’s absolutely fine either way!) of your mutuals!

I’ll start first. I first became (properly) aware of Monty Python when I was (and still am) in the Six Idiots/ThemThere Fandom (if you don’t know who the Six Idiots/ThemThere are, they’re a British Comedy Troupe consisting of the following 6 members; Mathew Baynton, Simon Farnaby, Martha Howe-Douglas, Jim Howick, Laurence Rickard and Ben Willbond. They were first originally together in the children’s historical comedy sketch show “Horrible Histories” which ran from 2009 to 2014, and since then have went on to create, write and star in the following projects, such as the fantasy comedy “Yonderland”, the Shakespeare comedy film “Bill” (2015) and the supernatural family BBC sitcom “Ghosts”) and I saw a video compilation on YouTube comparing clips/scenes from various Six Idiots/ThemThere projects and their inspirations from clips/scenes from various Monty Python projects, which really cemented in my head (especially after becoming a Python fan) that the Six Idiots truly are the “Monty Python” of this generation, or at least the Six Idiots are like Gen Z Monty Python (imo that is).

Anyway, starting in 2023, when I was on holiday with my family to see my grandparents in India, I started watching the MP films (specifically Holy Grail (1975) and Life of Brian (1979)) for the first time on my (barely working) laptop when both movies were freely available to watch in their entirety on YouTube (shocking, I know right?). And tbh, they were absolutely HILARIOUS! (Plus it was at this time that I had realised my first actual proper bisexual awakening when especially watching LoB, specifically the scenes where both Brian and Judith were naked, and thankfully my parents weren’t there to witness this absolute monstrosity (to them at least) and I have to say, thanks LoB :))👍🩷💜💙)

Then when I came back home to England, I watched The Meaning of Life (1983) (because pirating it on my nearly battered old laptop was really hard cuz it kept annoyingly pausing at random points in the movie) and so I asked either my mum or brother (I can’t remember exactly lol) to rent the movie MoL on Amazon Prime, and after watching it, I have to say, it was also pretty amazing! I think MoL is my personal favourite movie of the bunch tbh, cuz in a weird, surreally Pythonesque avante garde way, it was very emotional and cathartic (to me at least) and it felt fitting as a finale to Python as a whole (at least at the time).

After that, I became REALLY, like, REALLY into Python, I watched some of the sketches, some clips of the films, I bought some of the merchandise, I watched and bought DVDs of some of the Pythons’ other projects, etc.

My first Python crush was Terry Jones, but now my 2 absolute crushes are now firmly Graham Chapman AND Terry Jones, BUT….my 3-way Python crushes are; Graham Chapman, Terry Jones AND Michael Palin (tho I do love them all tbh as (as my mum says) im a diplomat lmao, so I do love Eric Idle, John Cleese, and Terry Gilliam equally too, but for the latter 3 I’m not as attracted to them as the former 3, if that makes sense?). Also, I absolutely STAN Carol Cleveland, Connie Booth and Neil Innes, THEYRE THE BEST FR AHHHH

Plus being in the MP fandom has genuinely made my life better, as I met some of my most WONDERFUL and LOVELY and KIND mutuals of all time, especially my bestest of ALL online bestie friends, @commonguttersnipe !! (Love you Commie darling <33, and she also makes pretty great MP fanfics imo too :))🫶❤️)

Ok so I've gotten obsessed over the idea of how Hope's Peak Academy students would use social media

I just want them to be normal happy high school teens acting like normal happy high school teens… is that too much to ask for…? 😔

A lot of the Ultimates would have verified tags on social media

I feel like the students with the most followers on social media would be Junko Enoshima, Sayaka Maizono, Sonia Nevermind, and uhh can't think of anyone else rn lol

There would also be a lot of Ultimates who refuse to make their account public and keep their social media engagement to be just within their friends and mutuals

Some I can think of on the top of my head are Kyoko Kirigiri, uhhh you probably get the point, there's a lot to list

Hajime Hinata would be the type of person to have a private Instagram account with around 200 something followers, even though he is one of the most popular/well-known people at Hope's Peak Academy

He would barely ever post anything (but I also HC him to post clips of him doing stuff like playing basketball on his story)

Nagito Komaeda would be following thousands of people, but only have a few hundred followers.

Still, he would have more followers than Hajime, and Nagito’s account would be set public He would post aesthetic photos with inspirational/hopeful quotes in the caption

Junko Enoshima would be the opposite: she would have hundreds of thousands followers but follow only like 10 people

But the people she follows are unexpected. For example, she would not follow Mukuro Ikusaba, her twin sister, but follow Makoto Naegi

She would also follow Yasuke Matsuda and Ryoko Otonashi, because I think it would be funny if some famous celebrity followed private accounts with only like 30 followers

Junko Enoshima has an account for Monokuma on all social media platforms she’s on.

Notable things she posts there are “Monokuma Theatre” clips, and also uses those accounts to shit on stuff (like Hope’s Peak Academy) while role playing in her Monokuma character

Also think it’s worth mentioning that while Nagito Komaeda posts interviews with Hope’s Peak Academy students to talk about how hopeful their talents are, Junko Enoshima uses her Monokuma account to slander HPA students and their talents

Izuru Kamukura would get an Instagram account but never use it. He only uses it when someone convinces him to add him.

I’d like to know how Clarke and Lexa start talking at Gus’, how does it go from Clarke being disinterested in anything having to do with Lexa Dorkus Woods to Lexa helping Clarke study? And from that to just basically hanging out?

Honestly it just starts by accident.

After that initial run in with Lexa at Gus's where she basically made Clarke feel like an idiot for being so pretentious (and technically rude, but Clarke chooses not to think of it that way 😤) about coffee in the quaint little shop, and then the fucking debacle at the gay bar that followed, Clarke kind of has a very annoying itch to go back and set things right.

Not as in to apologize for either run-in.

No, she wants to go in there and set the record straight that she is Not some privileged big city twat. That actually,,,, Lexa was the rude one, if you really think about it, because she didn't even know Clarke like that. And also, like, ok, her point still stands. Who the hell doesn't have an espresso machine in a bookstore/bakery shop?!

Basically Lexa had gotten under her skin and Clarke really fuckin hated how she couldn't seem to shake it. So, bright and early a few days later after her initial bruised ego had quit smarting quite so much Clarke marches herself back across town and all but slams her way into the shop.

Which is... anticlimacticly empty.

So much for a grand entrance.

Instead she's left standing at the counter for a good 5 minutes, working really hard to keep up the head of steam she had created on the walk over. Eventually she just starts to wander around the place, realizing pretty quickly that in her 18 years of life she'd never taken the time to actually do that. Had always just blown throw the place with her rag-tag group of friends in tow whenever they'd scrounged up enough money to buy a few treats, before blowing right back out again.

She runs her fingers over the extensive collection of arts and science books. Kinda marvels at the fact that such a relatively small space could house such a wide and meandering selection. She sees titles that range from the antiquities to the turn of modern art, and honestly nothing about any of these scream out titles Old Man Woods would have chosen to line his shelf.

She's not really paying much attention to what she's doing. More engrossed in just being nosy and trying to see what other treasures this funky little place has when she opens a door she assumes goes to another selection, but instead finds herself standing on the shop's back porch...

... With a set of round green eyes staring right at her.

"Uhh," is her extremely intelligent response. Because every last word of her well rehearsed tirade flies out of her head at the site of prim and proper Miss. Perfect Lexa sitting on a glider, smoking a cigarette.

"If you were looking for the bathroom, turn around and take a left."

Head still completely due to the fact that she's fairly certain she's stepped into the goddamn Twilight Zone for the second time in one week, Clarke lets her eyes follow the path of the glowing tip as Lexa brings the cigarette up and takes another drag.

"Those will kill you, ya know," is really all her short circuiting brain can manage.

Lexa snorts out a laugh without any hint of a smile through an exhaled cloud of smoke.

"Now that would be ironic."

It feels like Lexa's making fun of her. Like she in on some joke that Clarke is just too stupid to possibly ever get. And, oh right, that actually reminds her, she'd come here for a reason.

But... trying to refind that same righteous indignation is so much easier said than done. Really just finds herself frowning. Because, yet again, it's occurring to her that while she'd thought she'd known this girl to a T, it's becoming obvious she knows nothing. Which wouldn't bother her that much... except she'd spent the better part of her life convinced that she did. But putting that image up against this new vibrant one of an openly gay women who drank and smoked cigarettes?

Suddenly nothing about this girl made any sense.

It takes Lexa snapping her fingers a few times to get her attention which is fuuuucking humiliating.

"What?" she practically bites back because how is she constantly on her back foot with this girl?

But all Lexa does is tip her head to the side like a puppy. Considers her with those searching, soulful eyes for a moment before speaking.

"I asked if I you where here for a coffee or something," Lexa says, using the hand still holding the half-burned cigarette to motion to the porch around her. "Though, I have to warn you. We don't keep a secret cappuccino machine stashed back here either."

Little shit...

Clarke rolls her eyes. "Very funny. And yes, I was. Or. I am. But there wasn't anyone —"

Why the fuck does she make Clarke feel so jumbled and undone...

"Right, of course," Lexa cuts her off in a flourish, snuffing out the cigarette on the bottom of her shoe and popping the butt back into the pack. She's up and out of her seat before Clarke can really even finish the entire thought. "Black, no sugar, two pumps of creamer, right?"

"Uh. Yeah," is the only thought Clarke can dumbly string together at her surprise that Lexa would even remember.

The next thought has her eyes staying glued to the red and white pack still in her grasp.

Call it an instinct after having been raised by a doctor for the first 18 years of her life. Call it a petty and childish need to shock this girl just to get even. Call it payback for constantly managing to make her feel so off balance and seeing an opportunity for revenge. Whatever it is that fuels her next movements, Clarke doesn't really bother to think about it as she stops her with an innocent, "Can I see those real quick?" and reaches out the second Lexa moves to step past her to snatch the pack right out of her hand.

Clarke feels victorious in the moment when she can't get more than a garbled yelp of "Hey," out before they're both watching the pack fly in a wide arc through the air and land scattered across the alley about four businesses down.

Lexa looks back at her with wide-eyed shock.

Clarke just shrugs and gives her a grin.

"They slipped."

Lexa is not amused.

But strangely doesn't argue.

She just storms back inside and goes about making up Clarke's order, pointedly putting it down on the counter in front of her in a To Go cup.

Naturally, Clarke decides that's actually an invitation for her to kick back and stay awhile. And that the stoney silence that settles between them for the rest of the morning means she really must come back the next day as well 😈

One day turns into two. Two turns into three, and before Clarke knows what's happening, she's been to the little book shop every single day that week.

But she never catches Lexa with a cigarette again...

getting to know your bl mutuals

I’ve been tagged by @smyx! (thanks!!) to be honest I am not what you would call uhh widely read in the genre. I’ve seen 4 Thai BL shows in my life and one of them was a grocery story advertisement. (do NOT get me wrong, I loved the grocery store advertisement. you can pry Ingredients from my cold dead hands.) 

Yuri!!! on Ice and The Untamed I think are the other categorizable-as-BL shows I’ve dedicated my life to watched in their entirety. but we can just focus on the live-action shows with proper onscreen kissing here 🥲

what have been BLs that took you by surprise this year?

all three of them in different ways!! I did not expect to get broadly into Thai BL in the first place, but then the kinnporsche cast announced they would be doing a live show in the city I’d recently moved to and I was like "this is a sign from the gods that I need to buy a ticket + then watch the series in time to enjoy the boys live" and. oh boy. did I ever. literally everything about kinnporsche was a surprise to me lmao. what can I say, the gods were right

The Eclipse targeted me RIGHT in the second of my two weaknesses (which are, in order, BDSM and Fun Facts.* obviously kinnporsche got me in the first). it then gave me a third weakness, which is First Kanaphan’s smile. 

and then Not Me targeted the latter two of my now-three weaknesses.

I think Not Me probably took me the most by surprise though, because I didn’t know really anything about it going in (I saw ONE Yok edit to boss bitch and I was like yeah ok I’m in), and it is stylistically and plot and content-wise so unique.

*by fun facts I don’t mean the facts are about fun things but that there are obvious trails of breadcrumbs left in the script that lead me as a google-happy viewer down wikipedia rabbit-holes learning stuff about politics, history, etc that I wouldn’t have otherwise had cause to learn. because everything I’ve taught myself I know for horny-about-boys-kissing reasons. 

what have been BLs that you felt a bit disappointed with this year?

no disappointment here, all of them have been absolute bangers your honor.

I have vaguely started watching The Shipper and the setup is truly wild and I'm having fun, while also preparing myself for The Way It Ends + not sure if I’ll finish it.

her team is her Meowscarada (Missy), Orthworm (Kazuma), Rabsca (Magnus), Houndstone (Angel), Tinkaton (Amy) and Grafaiai (Pixie)

she did get a standard starter, that being her Sprigatito, Missy :D she was gifted her at a very young age and she didn't evolve until she was like 16 (which is how old she is at the time of the game) she's also her ace and her little lady and bestie forever<3

The rest don't have like super duper important lore they're guys she caught herself except Angel, who used to belong to her mom :] haven't decided exactly under what circumstances she ended up giving Angel to her but I'll figure it out.

Ok so like I said Emmy doesn't really have a lot going on but uhh. She's an artist who was born and raised in Paldea and a second year student at Naranja Academy. She doesn't take the place of the player character and is a year above them. she doesn't really interact with the other two storylines much and is mostly doing the gyms. her and nemona are besties and have been for like a year. she's silly and I love her I can't gibe proper thoughts on her but she does have things going on I promise. I love her.

OK! THIS IS PROBABLY MY FAVOURITE FLUFFYNIGHTKILLER HEADCANNON I'VE COME UP WITH.

My people, I love this and I hope you do. Its a long one, but I promise its worth it.

So ever since I read this head cannon from @yuriyuruandyuraart I've had one nagging thought.

Polygamous marriage is illegal.

So as much as I loved this story of them getting engaged, they couldn't ever get married, but I didn't wanna rain on everyone's parade so I kept it to myself. Until now!

While talking with @jann-the-bean I came up with this and Jan loved it! So I hope you guys do to.

So imagine that the 3 of them are going around telling their friends and family about their engagement, in the classic happy kind of way. It's all well and good, Dream is thrilled to find out his brother is so happy. However, then he realises the law and Dream pulls his brother aside.

Dream "Uhh Night...Can I talk to you?"

Nightmare "yeah?"

Dream "I'm so happy that you got engaged brother.."

Nightmare "........."

Nightmare "but?"

Dream "but..... But isn't Polygamous marriage illegal?"

Nightmare "......."

And that was the glass shattering moment. Dream wasn't trying to be cruel or anything like that. He was just generally concerned that Nightmare hadn't thought of that.

So later that night, Nightmare brought it up to his partners and of course both of them where upset when they remembered that law. So began a long talk about what they could do. In the end Ccino mostly just said that it didn't matter to him if they were married, so long as they were together. Since he's still just a small city boy, he didn't really see that there was to much they could do, he was content to just maybe have a ceremony where they promise to be life partners, but not marry.

Nightmare and Killer on the other hand were not satisfied with that.

That Night, when Ccino was asleep the two got to talking. I like to think that over the years that Nightmare and Killer have become icons for the poly community, much like Elton Jon is one for the gay community. The two of them decided that they were going to use this to fight for the right to marry each other.

It started small. Posts on social media, comments in interviews. They started speaking out that they should be allowed to be wed. Because they loved each other and the law shouldn't stop them. There where online polls and campaigns as their fan base who had been a huge fan of the throuple started to back them up.

This is when Ccino became alerted to what they were doing. He was scared that they could damage their reputations and careers over this. He told them that he wasn't worth everything they were risking. That if they really wanted to get married, the two of them could and he'd just keep being their boyfriend.

They told him no and then lovingly told him to shut up and they would take care of it.

So began the start of a long legal battle, which all together spanned about 2 years. From when they first started talking about it online, to when the find judgment was made. They were denied.

In the end the court ruled that if polygamy was legalised, it would cause alot of issues. Its a taboo for a reason, and some people would just abuse it for their own gain.

Both Killer and Nightmare were heart broken. Ccino told them that he was so proud of them for trying and that he loved them more then ever. But Killer and Nightmare were still really upset.

This upset Ccino, because he'd seen how hard they had worked and as he thought over everything, he realised that he was actually irritated himself. In fact, he was a little angry. So now it was his turn to say No.

Ccino "you know what? No!"

Killer "what?"

Ccino "they said they couldn't legalise it because people would abuse the system"

Nightmare "yeah?"

Ccino "well I say No! That doesn't apply to us. You aren't some guy who wants a bunch of wives. We are 3 people who all love each other equally. We should have the right to marry"

Killer and nightmare "........"

Killer "we thought you said that you were ok with it"

Ccino "I'm not. Of course I'm not! I want to marry you both! "

So this prompted them to start a new campaign. If Polygamy couldn't be legalised for everyone, then they was campaign for the court to give the 3 of them legal right to marry. If a man could get the rights to marry himself (true story) and a women could be granted the right to marry a building (again, true story) then the 3 of them should be granted permission to marry.

So they took it back to court and this time Ccino took a more active roll in it, though Nightmare and Killer were more dominant. Ccino appeared with Nightmare and Killer in some interviews, but even if his mental health was much better at this point, he still couldn't fully handle all the pressure. But he put in a lot of work behind the scenes to help his partners in the case.

They Luckily still had the support of the public. They argued that they didn't want to abuse the system, they didn't want to have the bunch or wives or a bunch of husbands. They were 3 people who all loved each other deeply and just wanted to be married to each other.

Imagine the judge in court asking them why they wanted to make it legal to marry Ccino and why they couldn't just date him. And Killer just stands up like.

"dude have you seen him!? Who wouldn't want to make that fluffy marshmallow their husband?"

Then as Jan said this leaves poor Ccino (who is sat next to him) just a blushing mess and he says “Killer, don’t be so loud it’s embarrassing..”

Meanwhile, nightmare staring the judge dead in the eyes.

“I agree he’s to adorable not to marry, I mean if we don’t marry him someone else may try to steal him. And I refuse to let that happen”

After another 2 years or so of fighting for it. After all the public backing and the long process. Killer, Nightmare and Ccino are finally granted the right to marry.

Just imagine Nightmare trying to keep composed in court, though his having a little party in his head, and Killer on the other hand just stand on his table in court like.

"yes! Ha!"

Then he points at Ccino "guess what fluffy buns! We are marrying you!"

Ccino is so shocked, but he's also so happy. He truly never would have dreamt of this happening.

The moment that Nightmare, Killer are handed over the legal documents, they don't waste a moment, they grab Ccino and jump straight into their car. Then they drive straight to Las Vegas to elope not stopping to change or pack any clothes or anything, because they don't want to wait a second longer.

Of course Ccino gets super flustered at their suggestion to elope.

Ccino "get m-married right now!? But don't you want to wait? And have some big celebrity wedding? You mentioned it before"

Nightmare "nope"

Killer "we've been engaged for over 4 years, we want to put a ring on it right now!"

Nightmare "we don't need a big wedding, or all that stuff. We just need you to say I do"

Nightmare and Killer "so... Will you?"

Ccino "......"

Ccino "YES!"

(though maybe they stopped to pick up dream on the way. Nightmare probably knows that Dream would kill him if he missed his wedding.)

So the 3 were married in a small Chapel. Nothing fancy, but for them it was perfect. They all agreed that they would probably host a proper reception and ceremony for their friends and family to attend later. But for now, they didn't need that, they just needed to be married. It was a very small simple thing.

They probably stayed in a Vegas hotel that night. Probably had some time to celebrate. I just imagine Killer waking the two of them up the next morning with breakfast he'd ordered like:

"Good morning Husbands"

And he just can't keep the smile off his face.

About a year later they have a more formal ceremony. Which of course is super fun. But for them it doesn't change that fact that their actual wedding was truly perfect.

And dam I just love those 3. Jan was the one who wanted me to share this with you guys and I really hope you like it as much as me.

BTW, I know this most likely isn't fully realistic to what the legal system is like, but give me a break. I’m not a lawyer, I’m a shipper. Its fiction, just let me have it.
