you know. the thing i find strangest about tumblr is how they so rarely listen to us, the people who use their app & site daily. like we all - for the vast majority imo - want the same, or at the very least similar, things. and this cant be something the staff is blind to - there are SO many posts with tens of thousands of notes saying this, and there are countless replies and reblogs to their DIRECT blog posts saying this, too.

we dont want live anymore, not that we ever wanted it in the first place. we dont wants nazis. we dont want terfs. we dont want porn bots. we dont want an algorithim or a 'for you' page or for you to give us posts 'based on our likes!' or any other way for you to show us posts other than posted by the blogs we follow. but you know what do we want??? for the search and tagging functions to work properly. to keep our custom blogs -- most of which have been crafted by users for themselves or others. to keep reblog chains. for trans people to not be flagged JUST because theyre trans. for poc to not have their blogs deleted for no reason. like…theres more, but these are the main ones i can remember off the top of my head. and its so fucking FRUSTRATING because i KNOW tumblr wants to make money - they literally have to. and they could. if they listened to US and what we want and what we dont want i just KNOW they could make so much money. if they made their site better they would get new users, bring back old users, and overall make the existing users much, much happier. they are literally holding themselves back by trying to craft themselves into every other social media site (a horrible plan just on surface alone; a personal blogging site is simply not the same as most social media, nor would it ever be. they are different in use alone.) and in doing so theyre going to lose users and, probably, run themselves into the ground in the end because theyre going to turn away the only people who really care to use the site right now. and its just…like i Want this site to succeed - not for any kind of allegiance to tumblr or anything, but just because this site is still a unique corner of the internet. like theres so many friends ive made on here, so many wonderful creators, and such a community on here thats not really present wideform on other sites. and like…idk. i just wish staff would stop trying to turn this site into something its not by bloating it with features literally NOBODY wants when theres things they could do that everyone wants. you know what i mean??

Another (I know, I am so original, aren’t I?) TMNT Fandom(s) Rant

Author’s Note:

Alright, I had been really, really hesitant to post this, because I honestly feel like I have done too many of these (even though I have only like, done some posts and rb’s on this kind of stuff.  And usually spaced apart too, but whatever), and because some of the stuff I am saying, I see even creators that I like sometimes say, and I don’t want to seem like I am mad and that kind of stuff at them.  Even with creators I like less or I am more neutral towards, I don’t want to seem mad at them or too mean and stuff like that, you know?  

But I came to the decision to just post this.  Largely because I just really feel the need to say this, and because someone I know on here helped me give the courage to go ahead and post this.  Thank you that person a lot btw!

Alright, now that my AN is done and out of the way, let’s get to more of the actual contents of the post itself.  Starting now:

Like, I can not fathom, how people complain about the Rise turtles being nerfed, and will hold up certain fics/comics/whatever and say they love those fics/comics/whatever because they don’t nerf Rise, but usually/most of the time, those same comics or whatever that supposedly nerf Rise, will nerf the other version instead (usually 2012.  Though sometimes other versions like 2003).

So nerfing u hate when it is done to Rise, but other versions, it is a-ok!, to nerf them!  Wow okay, just wow.

And on the topic of Rise being nerfed, I won’t say it never happens, it does.  But I honestly don’t see that much myself.

And I honestly, at this point, I more so see Rise getting so hyped up to (sometimes) ridiculous amounts, than I see them getting nerfed.

Rise are better, stronger, smarter, more amazing and awesome TMNT (and not just in ability/powers/strength/etc., but character and/or etc. too).  They are also more violent and scary when they snap.  And/or could be more scary when they get violent and/or snap.  And I am not saying they couldn’t and/or wouldn’t be so.  But that is REALLY downplaying other versions when you say stuff like that. Like, some of the other versions can be so violent and murderous and completely terrifying when they snap (and/or you just know they would be utterly terrifying if they completely snap) too.  

Moving back to what I was saying before/earlier, not only are they better and everything I say above in the beginning of the last paragraph.  But they can also beat any other version no matter what in anything basically.  Because like, the TMNT Fandom(s) (or at least some parts of it/them) has now became the Shonen fandom where we argue about what, for example, our usually favorite person or group of ours can beat another person or group or whatever.  This coming from someone who actually likes Shonen.  But God, do I find power scaling, and “x can and/or can’t beat x” arguments to very annoying, stupid, and pointless most of the time, and usually just detracting from actually just talking about story, or character, or themes, or/& etc.  And they are just tiring honestly.

Putting the rest under a cut, because this post gets long/is getting long, and some of the stuff below is the stuff that was making me worried about posting this.  So I am putting this under a “read more” cut due to long, and in case people don’t want to read some of the (other) stuff I have to say here.

Seriously, I have literally seen posts and stuff, that basically say and/or imply that Rise are just BETTER than their other versions.

Which in turn, usually puts down both the talents of previous versions (i.e. for example.  And this is just an example really, but it valid in most points.  Leo and/or Raph’s own (innate) talents will be downplayed, and people will act like they don’t have their own talents instead are just the muscle and/or use their (strong) emotions to help them maybe win, in the case of Raph (which, nothing wrong with this actually at all), or Leo isn’t talented and strong in his own right, and only gets all of his skills and strength through hard-work and experience (which, there is nothing wrong with that.  Some of the strongest and best people in the world in their own fields and/or etc., got where they were through mainly/a lot through hard-work and experience (even if some of these people were talented, they almost certainly, most of the time, wouldn't become the best, without actually trying and through hard work and experience).  

And honestly, the amount of downplaying some people do.  Not all, there are people who really respect hard-work and experience in this fandom and/or in general.  And/or they are people that think characters or whatever or even cooler and/or better because they they work hard and/or etc. and become (even more) awesome.  But the amount of people that downplay hard-work, experiences, learning through example, and all that is kind of sad.  

It is like some people only care about (innate) talents (which, I am not saying are’t cool and awesome stuff too, but like, still) and not any of that.  Or, and again basically, don’t think that even people that have (innate) talents still need to you know train and to learn and all that?  You don’t (most of the time) become a master without experience and hard work.  Even if you are talented), which in reality, all the turtles (and Casey, April, Karai, splinter, etc.) are a combination of both talents and hard-work and experiences imo.) and skills and strengths and experiences and even just their general character and personality and development.

And I am just like ?????? to (all) that.

I find all/some of that stuff I mentioned above (esp. the development stuff and/or etc.) funny, considering, saying that kind of stuff/some of that stuff, not only undermines other versions and other versions of characters and their characterization and development, but also (imo) Rise’s characterization and development, because it almost seems like you think they have less flaws as people and stuff than other versions (which, I don’t think actually think is true.  I think all the versions basically have both flaws and strengths as people), and that they don’t go through development/don’t need development/need less development than other versions (which again, I don’t think is true.  I think like other versions, Rise needs and goes through development and goes through their own awesome development like the other versions).  

I  mostly bring up characterization here too, since sometimes (not always), characterization and development can go hand-in-hand.  Anyways yeah, when some of you say this kind of stuff, I wonder if you/they realize that they are also, in a way, kind of undermining Rise’s characterization and development too; along with the other versions.

Back on the whole “Rise is better” thing.

So like, I do see characters like Rise Leo to basically be everything (all the Leos) that has come before him, for example.

Which I love.

However, that doesn’t mean he is better.  He wouldn’t exist, if not for the previous Leos, for the previous versions (and sometimes even current Leos and versions and their characters if you include IDW, which I do) and their characters.

Seriously, it almost seems like, and pardon my language, a pissing race.  Instead of respecting and honoring the other versions, some people (seem to) instead act/talk like Rise are just stronger, most powerful, more skilled, and all around just better in every way (including their actual characters when I say in this like I have said previously and not just powers, skills, and all that).

And this all not even in taking into account genres.  For examples:  2012 is more dramatic and serious, Rise is more comedic and light-heartened (not saying 2012 or Rise can’t be the other.  Or have more genres in them.  They can and do.  I am just talking overall).  Nothing wrong with either of those things.  They are both great though.  But different genres, are also important to take into account when you try to compare the different versions (in all way different ways).  Though, I try not to do that, unless it is more positively/in positive ways.  And because they are all great in their own rights.  I find comparisons a lot of the times (not just with TMNT) to not always be the best thing to do, but that is just imo.

Anyways, that is all I have to say about genres for now (at least, until I can figure out a way to word what I am trying to say there better.  I am still working on that).

Seriously though, I am getting so tired of all this.

I love both 2012 and Rise (and basically most/all the TMNT versions basically) so much; they are both a couple of my favorites.

But this kind of stuff is just getting out of hand.  Imo.

2 years anniversary since seeing skz live for the first time [18/05/26]

today is 2 years since i watched skz live for the first time, for free, on the streets of seoul, standing abt 10 meters from them (also known as uclean festival if ur confused how that happened). storytime of that under the cut:

i was traveling in Seoul for a while at that time but the thought of checking kpop groups schedules to see if theres smthing i can attend never crossed my mind until a few days before that festival and *tada* here it was.

I was so nervous to get a good spot that i got to the place at 9am when skz only performed at like 3pm or so. It was also one of the hottest days in seoul and the festival was outside (on cheonggye plaza specifically) and i didnt bring any water, fan or anything to protect myself from the sun like a dummy. i was alone and scared i will lose my spot at the first row so i just stayed there. (ok so basically the festival was for students that did smthing i dont remember what and the stage and audience area was closed with a ribbon and other people that wanted to watch had to stand around it, i stood on the first row behind that ribbon which was to the left of the stage, so obv this is not a saved sit).

luckily my friend was afraid i will die so even tho she didnt plan to come (no matter how many times i told her she will be missing) she finally came and gave me water. ofc she stayed for the concert part and started stanning skz afterwards bc of it lol

they only performed 3 songs and had a very short ment but i scream my lungs out every second and they were amazing and beautiful and so so nice (even tho the festival wasnt just skz they were a lot of stays around the festival area and skz were so happy seeing that, they kept smiling and waving at us even tho we were on the side).

anyway this is a really long storytime bc im emotional and today they released a new mv as well which is just great timing for me to be even more emo over how much i love them and how amazing they are. i love skz so much !! i just hope i get to see them again soon💌💌💌

OK SO one of the first things i noticed about the lucina art was that her new lance, the geirskogul had something written on it

As u may remember, the knights of iris artbook revealed that the falchion also had a message on it, and provided a table for transliteration

I compared the artwork of the geirskogul in idle, attack and damaged portrait and traslated the markings to read,

"ANIMEQROJECTSUBCESS" so, excusing those that are probably typos,

"ANIME PROJECT SUCCESS"

Ofc i have no idea of what this is about, but clearly it was something important enough that it's been placed specifically on all version of lucina's brave costume artwork, for us to see!

also this is gonna be long but like mobile doesn't let u do the keep reading thing so ill just rb spam over this post so only the ppl who unfortunately scroll thru my blog will find it. spoilers.

-tsumugi shirogane btw. i am indeed defending her bc i kin her

-this isn't defending her actions btw.............

-ok 1. yes her design doesn't rly go with her talent. i can acknowledge this. but bruh i saw this One Guy ranking designs (i forgot his name ..... this is a petty tumblr post im not gonna go find it) and he was like "tsumugi's design says nothing about her personality. it's easily in the worst tier it's so bad" and im like bruh................her whole thing is that she has no personality. like she has no identity out of cosplay/fiction. she sees herself as so normal and Plain™ like... she literally points out how plain her design is 948576678483 times ingame as if 2 bait us into thinking she's more suspicious. her design has no personality bc there's nothing 2 say. also to me she has a more mature body type/lower voice @ the end implying that she's an older woman so that shit crazy, but i will die on my pedestal of loving ministarfruit's content bc like.. them describing tsumugi as "[having] no self to sacrifice" like that is so perfect and accurate, from how i understand her character

-idk what we're even talking about anymore so let's talk abt the whole rantaro thing. v3's story is a mess of confusion but i think the pregame section is very important. first off, kaito and tsumugi(excluding saihara, who we see just With Us), the characters you'd expect to be the most excited about the kg, are the most prominent characters in the cg of the exisals readying to punt the cast. and they're obviously afraid. yes, you can claim that this is due to the fact that there are big giant robots here, but they're also worried about their circumstances before then. but then comes the question of tsumugi's part in all this. this means that either A, tsumugi adapted very quickly to the failed circumstances, B tsumugi was only made the mastermind after gaining her memories and outfit, or C tsumugi was less afraid of what was happening and more confused as to why it seemed like she was about to be killed for this error. i honestly think that b is the most likely, hear me out.

-for starters, rantaro is the only one that seems to know what's going on- tsumugi shows no indication that she's made an error. even when the cast is about to forget that all of this ever happened, she still appears uncertain and clueless. unless you want to argue that she knew that the player would notice, this doesn't line up with anything but B. plus, she doesn't bring up this actual, canon section in the sixth trial. she doesn't discuss what this means, instead covering up what the player knows by saying that something different happened. that the cast misremembers.

-dont get me started on the fucking cospox. honestly im 100% convinced it's fake. plus im like so tired now but if tsumugi wrote that whole story of v3 then she's not a good mastermind at all. however i do think that compared to monaca and junko, tsumugi is... very different. she's obviously the most mixed feelings mastermind, as with monaca most people hate her guts, and with junko people love and hate her. both very strongly, at the same time. tsumugi probably brought the most despair upon the cast of v3, and the most on the player as well. people always die in danganronpa, it's heartbreaking, but tsumugi left something more. for some people, they hated the ending. for some people, they couldn't figure out shirogane even in the end, because honestly, within her there's nothing to see. even the liar characters like kokichi, you get a structure for him, you get a good grasp on what he's like. throughout all of the game, he was one of the very most prominent and important characters, and what he had to offer went on postmortem. but at the end of the day... no one really knew what tsumugi was like. because outside of danganronpa, she had nothing to say.

-what am i saying anymore. there is no point to this post tsumugi is just more interesting than i think a lot of people make her out to be
