Flowers and a bit of flirting- Lukadrien June Day 19
So usually it’s Adrien who get’s flustered, so I did a bit of flustered Luka. Another cannon divergance, the Miraculous don’t exist an our fav gods are house pets, including a cheese loving cat. Yes, mama Agreste is alive and well but like my last cannon divergence, they separated. I don’t know why I keep doing this to Adrien but he’s allowed to act more like his Chat self with his mom, so yeah. I swear, I’m not trying to salt Gabriel, it’s just hard to not make him be the villian sometimes. Yeah, anyway, please enjoy. @lukadrien-june Flower Language
Luka stopped his bike at the security box for the movie set, waving to the familiar guard.
“Again?” the guard asked.
Luka shrugged. “I’m just here to deliver them.”
the guard shook his head, grabbing a visitor pass and handed it to Luka, the routine familiar and quite honestly getting old. “When is he gonna get the hint?”
“Probably never, which is great for my bank account.” Luka answered, pushing his bike past the gate.
People were rushing around, two different scenes being filmed for different movies. The Graham de Vanily movie studio was busy as always and Luka was heading towards the trailer for their biggest star, Ms. Emilie Graham de Vanily. The sad part was that her recent new surge in fan wasn’t for her amazing acting or the tireless work she does for charity. No, the reason she was in the public eye was her public divorce from famed fashion designer Gabriel Agreste and full custody of their unnamed son. From what they were told, due to some horrible disagreement before a trip to Tibet that was cancelled, they finally called it quits. Some say it was because Gabriel cheated, others say that they never really loved each other, most say that they fell out of love and few speculated that maybe their son had been the main reason. Gabriel was getting ready to release his as the face of the fashion name but Emilie said no and filled for full custody.
Now the flower shop Luka worked for was getting huge orders of flowers to be delivered to the known actress by her former husband as a way to try and win her back. From what he’d seen of pictures of the two, Gabriel had real love in his eyes whenever he looked at his wife but whatever happened between them Emilie had had enough because most times when Luka arrived to drop off the flowers, he would separate the large bouquet into smaller ones to give to staff members and her co stars. Thankfully those who were given the smaller bouquets didn’t say anything about where they came from and just accepted them.
Gabriel had obviously been doing homework as his orders had flowers that asked for forgiveness and said how much he still loved her. Shame they were rejected. One time, she’d been so annoyed, she cut them up, dumped them in a box and gave Luka twice what the bouquet was to send the mess of flowers back to the original sender. She felt embarrassed after but Luka wasn’t going to blame her. She was obviously still hurting and all the extra attention wasn’t making her feel any better or letting her move on.
He reached the familiar trailer and knocked on the door. He was focused on pulling the large bouquet out of his basket that when the door opened, he started with his usual spill.
“New delivery Mme. Graham. If you’re going to split them, I can go ahead and get started.”
“Probably best since my mom is allergic to those flowers.”
Luka turned and instead of the kind blonde woman he was used to seeing in the doorway of the trailer, there was a blond guy, slightly younger than him with bright green eyes. He had the same smile Emilie would wear, if not a bit mischievous like a cat. He was cute, like really cute.
“Adrien, who is it?” Emilie came around, smiling at Luka. “Luka, nice to see you again. Another delivery I see.”
“Uh, yeah. It’s purple aquilegia, which mean ‘I can’t give thee up’.” Luka answered, his eyes trailing back to the guy, Adrien.
Emilie shook her head, seeming drained. “If he paid any attention, then he’d remember I’m allergic to those. Could you split them up for me dear? Adrien, why don’t you help him? By the time you get back, I’ll be filming and you can finally start on your homework. I don’t care if it’s physics.” she cut in as Adrien opened his mouth. “You need to finish it before we leave. Help Luka sort and deliver those and I’ll see you later, ok sweetheart?”
“Yes mom.”
Mom, so this was the mysterious son.
Adrien climbed down from the trailer and planted himself next to Luka.
“So you’re Luka. Mom tells me my dad sends you here almost everyday and you know flowers.”
“Yeah. I don’t fully like it because of awkward it obviously is but the payment gets spilt into my pay check so I can’t complain. Here, hold these.” Luka pulled out a roll of plastic they wrapped the flowers in and a pair of scissors. “Learning the language of flowers is pretty interesting too. There’s so much you can say with a simple bouquet.”
“Has anyone ever said F you in flowers?”
Luka let out a laugh. “Yes, there is actually truth to that Tumblr post. Why, asking for a friend?”
Adrien hold the roll loosely as Luka pulled a length off. “I mean, a friend of mine really doesn’t like this new girl in our class. She lies a lot and almost got away with everything when she messed up and we caught her out on it. She’s got the rest of the school under her thumb and it takes everything in us to keep Marinette from wanting to rip her head off. I’ll admit, I could do the same to my dad, but only cause he doesn’t realise that he keep putting my mom in a difficult position when he sends the flowers. But my mom would say it’s none of my business.”
Marinette? Like his ex-girlfriend and still good friend Marinette? Well, it had to be a common name.
“Well if your mom isn’t totally turned off by flowers, you could give her red camellia. They mean admiration. Your mom is pretty strong. She’d get along with mine I think.”
“So those pierced ears and nail polish are to hide your bad boy exterior?”
“I am the farthest thing from a bad boy. For one, don’t wear a lot of black, that’s more my sister’s thing. I might like Jagged Stone, but I’m sure most of France does too. And motorcycles scare the hell out of me. I’ll stick with my classic bike.”
Adrien let out a small life, his eyes crinkling. “Guess I shouldn’t put people in boxes. I’ve been known to be a huge flirt amongst my classmates and they can get pretty annoyed by my puns and most people who look at me expect this quiet kid.”
“Something tells me if there’s a prank pulled, everyone looks to you first.” Luka teased.
Adrien bleped at him, shrugging his shoulders. “I’ve had a good teacher in the form of my cat. Just flash them pouty eyes and they’ll never be mad at you.” he flashed him those same pouty eyes he talked about and Luka had to look away to save him from turning red. Fuck, he was really cute.
They continued talking, finishing separating all the flowers and putting them back into the vase. He let Adrien lead him around to the people not working with his mother until the vase was empty and he escorted him back to his mother’s trailer.
“Have fun with your homework.”
“I’d rather do a hard pass but mom’s right. It’s physics so it won’t take long. So, I guess I’ll see you around?”
“I guess so.”
Adrien gave him a wave and smile before disappearing into his mother’s trailer and Luka walked back to the gates. Usually when he left, his thoughts would usually consist of wondering when this would end and Gabriel would back off. Now, all he could think about was bright green eyes and a mischievous smile.
                                                      ___________
“Another one?” Adrien asked as he opened his mother’s trailer door and saw Luka standing there with another large bouquet, yellow chrysanthemums this time. “What do they mean this time?”
“Slighted love.”
Adrien seemed to flinch at that. “they did have a huge a argument over the phone last night. Mom’s making me stay with a friend tonight to avoid hearing more of it. She’s not here, so we can go ahead and split them up.”
a loud protesting meow called from inside and Adrien shook his head before looking into the trailer. “Plagg, calm down. You’ve gotten enough treats from mom.”
“Plagg?” Luka asked.
“Like plage. I’m a weird child.” Adrien said, taking the roll of plastic from Luka.
“Not that weird. My snake is called Sass. I think I was just lazy.”
“Well can’t be as weird as my classmate’s pet monkey, aptly named King.”
King the monkey? Wait a second.
“Random, but do you go to Collège Françoise Dupont?”
“Yeah, why?”
“Your home room teacher Mme. Bustier?” Adrien nodded, looking lost. “I think you’re in the same class as my sister, Juleka?”
the eyes brightened in understanding. “Oh! You’re that Luka! The guys told me about you. They’ve been trying to come up with ways to make you join their band, Kitty Section.”
“And I would, if I wasn’t trying to earn money to get into this music college I want to go to. Your dad is paying a hefty amount towards my education. My sister mentioned they had a new student in class. Guess it makes sense why she didn’t say who. No one really knows who you are yet do they?”
“Not yet. Mom wants to wait until after the filming is done in case she needs to be there. I mean, if you know Alya, she knows and my closer friends do. I trust you can keep a secret?” Adrien asked, sliding up closer to Luka.
Luka controlled himself, trying not to look bothered. He was usually so calm and cool. What was it about Adrien that made him like that?
“I can. Don’t worry. Just don’t tell my sister you know me. She might beg you to help convince me to join Kitty Section.”
“I don’t know. I saw the costumes Marinette sketched. You’d look interesting as a kittycorn.” Adrien laughed a little.
“I look amazing in anything.” Luka said, tossing his hair similar to how he’d seen Chloe Bourgeois do whenever she came by the house boat to tease his sister – which tended to lead into his mother yelling at her from the stern. Chloe’s father might spoil his daughter, but no one bothered a pissed off Anarka Couffaine.
“I’m sure you do.”
Adrien admitted to being a flirt, but that knowledge didn’t stop the sudden blush from popping up on Luka’s face.
                                                     __________
Alyssum, primrose, diosma and gloxinia, with a few white clover flowers to fill in the space. Mme. Anciel usually took care of making the bouquets, though she gladly taught Luka after seeing how he retained the information about the language of flowers.
“Luka, we’ve got a new order. Could you grab me some purple columbines from the green house?” Mme. Anciel said as she came out from the back where she usually made the orders. She had black hair like her son, though her eyes were hazel and tanned skin from always being in the sun. “Oh, is that a new order?”
“Oh, no. I was just messing around. These were older ones, don’t worry.”
Mme. Anciel took in the bouquet in the green vase. “Worth beyond beauty, unconscious beauty, you’re simple charms enchant me and love at first sight. And think of me. Who are you trying to send a message to Luka?”
“Oh, no one. I was just messing around.”
the florist raised an eyebrow. She’d been in the business long enough and spoke the language of flowers well enough to see a person’s whole heart in them. Luka knew he wasn’t tricking her.
“Ok, there’s this guy.”
“Sounds like my son before he started dating, but go on.”
“Well I met him on my deliveries and he’s really cool and funny and such a flirt and that usually wouldn’t bother me but I like it when he flirts with me. Which isn’t like me, but still. He’s a really cool guy.” Luka shrugged, feeling embarrassed. Not a normal feeling for him but one he was ok with. Adrien was doing strange things to him.
“You’ve only really been doing deliveries to Mme. Graham de Vanily, so he must be from there. He an actor?”
Luka shook his head, thinking of Adrien and how easily he could look innocent with those pouty green eyes of his. “No, his mom works there though.”
“Who’s mom works where?” Marco came in, from where he’d been hiding in the back for his break. He was smudged with dirt and if Luka didn’t know how into his story writing Marco let himself get when in the safety of his home, he’d think Nathaniel came by for a visit.
“Luka’s crush.”
“You have a crush?”
Luka rolled his eyes. “Maybe. Why are you bugging me about this? Any mention of Nathaniel and you go red.”
“Maybe I want to break the calm musician facade. Who are they? Customer?”
“Customer's son.” he didn’t want to give too much away. Adrien and Marco might go to the same school and Marco might date Adrien’s classmate but he wasn’t sure how much he was privy to. “We’ve been talking whenever I go drop off deliveries at the Graham de Vanily studio.”
“Guess M. Agreste is good other than giving us a big pay check. He helps Luka find love.”
“It’s always the shy ones.” Luka muttered under his breath.
“Will you give it to him?” Mme. Anciel asked.
“Maybe not.”
“Why not? Good way to ask him on a date.”
“I don’t want to assume anything. He might not even be interested.”
“Darling, if he’s got you making bouquets like that, there has to be something mutual.”
As much as he would of liked to avoid it, Mme. Anciel all but forced the newly made bouquet into his hands as he got ready to deliver a new bouquet to Emilie. She accepted the gilliflower bouquet, though it sounded like it was going to be re-homed anyway.
“Adrien’s inside the trailer if you wanted to talk to him. He talks quite a bit about you at home, asking me a lot of questions about you.”
“Good things I hope.”
“Well, you haven’t given me any reason to say bad.” she said with this sort of smile he’d usually see on his mom when she was trying to get him and Juleka to admit their sexuality, like she already knew, she just wanted to hear it from them. It had to be a mom thing.
Adrien was laying on the couch, pinned by a lazy looking black cat. He smiled at Luka when he came in, though he couldn’t move.
“Hi. I would of come out to greet you, but someone refuses to move. He dug the Camembert from my mom’s fruit basket and is now so full he won’t move.” Adrien said, staring down at his chilled out cat, who only flicked his tail. “Did you not give me mom the flowers?”
the bouquet for Adrien was still in his hands. He could of lied and said it was for someone else, but he decided to take a chance. “They’re for you actually. I was thinking about you and made this.”
“Really? Thank you. That was really sweet of you. Did my mom tell you primroses are my favourite?” Adrien asked, putting his phone down and taking the flowers, a large smile on his face.
“No, just thought they suited you.”
“Well I love it. Thank you. Um, do you think it’d be ok if you stayed a bit, unless you had to go back to work.”
he thought of Mme. Anciel and what she might do to him if he returned sooner than what had become usual whenever he dropped off flowers for Emilie. Then he thought of spending time with Adrien without having to focus on flowers for a little while.
“Yeah, sure. I can stay. What where you playing?” Luka asked, sitting on the edge of the sofa next to Adrien.
He tugged on Luka’s sleeve to pull him closer as he picked up his phone. “Any good at otome games? I’m trying to woo this guy and he’s being shy.”
“I have a feeling you’d be fine regardless.”
Not a date, but it would do for now, until he could actually say what he was feeling without hiding behind flowers.

We found love in a hopeless place part 25
Divergent fanfiction: Eric/OC. Mature content and strong language. I do not own any part of Divergent.

I waited a minute but Sam didn't say anything. So I quietly reminded her of our deal.
"Your turn. Remember?"
"Yes. It's just, I just. Please don't be mad at me, or leave me," she whimpered.
"Would you just tell me Samantha. I would never leave you and I doubt I will get mad." I huffed out. Trying but failing to stay calm.
"I'm pregnant," she squeaked out.
I must have heard her wrong. She spoke so softly I must have misunderstood.
"What was that?" I asked in a calm even tone.
"I'm pregnant Eric. I've known for three weeks. There just never seemed like a right time to tell you," she cried softly.
"I've been gone for just over two months Sam," I said trying to hide the questioning tone in my voice.
"Take a guess at how far along I am asshole. I have the paperwork and ultrasound," she was smacking my hands away trying to stand up.
Once again I am an idiot fool. Damn I'm an asshole. We had unprotected sex three or four times before I left. It only takes once.
"Sam, Sam stop. I'm an idiot. A tired, broken, shocked idiot, but still an idiot none the less," I held her tight as she slowly stopped fighting me.
Fuck! That was the last thing I was expecting. It's not that I would be opposed to another child, but now. The timing fucking sucks. Doesn't matter though, what's done is done. Guess there never is a right time in Dauntless.
"You don't hate me?" She sniffles still not looking at me.
I softly chuckled. Is she serious?
"Of course I don't hate you. You do realize it's half my fault too right. You certainly couldn't have done it by yourself," I stated with an amused huff.
That pulled a small giggle out of her. She finally relaxed slightly in my arms. This woman was going to be the death of me.
"I'm shocked. Upset you'll have to go threw who knows how much of the pregnancy without me. Scared to be adding one more when I haven't even completely adjusted to having Adam. But I'm ok with it. It's part of you. We'll manage." I sighed into her hair.
"My biggest is are you ok with this? Is this too much for you to handle without inpatient care?" Why did I have to be gone for God knows how long for something so important and life changing?
"Honestly? I'm terrified. Not about the actual pregnancy, but about being someone's mom. I'm afraid I'll fuck the job all up." She was afraid of being her parents.
"Sam, you're doing an awesome job with Adam now. Why would this child be any different?" I have been so amazed at how well she was doing with Adam. Dara had been happy with the situation too.
"Ha. More like Adam does a good job with me," she huffed.
"Who knows so far?" I hoped not too many people. With me being gone, it would put a bigger fucking target on her back.
"Dr. Marx, my OBGYN, Four by default, I told your mom and you. That's it." She sounded off. She told someone else.
"Who else Sam. I'm not mad, I promise. However me being a leader, it's important I know exactly who knows," which was my main concern.
"Dara. Dara knew. I found out when she was here on leave. She was so excited Adam was getting a sibling and she didn't have to do the work," she snotted and laughed.
"I wanted to wait to tell you until I could do it face to face. I was so excited when you walked in the door. That is until I realized something was very wrong. I see how much you're hurting Eric. I just, I just didn't want to add one more stress to all the bull shit already so heavy on your shoulders. I know they're wide shoulders, but damn," I laughed at her last comment.
"Do you have any clue how much you mean to me? I want to marry you before I leave again, I left my son with you. Sam I can't imagine my life without you anymore. But sweetheart, can we please get out of the tub?" It was a fair question.
Sam laughed and shook her head yes. I stood up pulling her with me. We headed back to bed. I wanted to try for a little more sleep before facing the day. I just had more shit to add on to two weeks that already wouldn't be long enough.
Sam curled up to me and was out within minutes. It took me a bit longer until I finally matched my breathing to Sam's and concentrated on listening to her heartbeat. I didn't even remember finally falling asleep.
I sat up with a start trying to catch my breath. Of course, another nightmare. I looked to see I was alone in bed. I heard several voices in the living room.
I got up pulling sweatpants on and headed towards the dining room. Sam, my mother, Dr.Marx and Max sat at my table. I raised an eyebrow in question but continued on to the coffee pot.
"Good morning Eric. How are you son?" Max asked in a more fatherly tone.
"Been better. To what do I owe the fucking pleasure of waking up to you in my damn kitchen? And where is Adam?" I scanned the apartment for my son.
"He went to breakfast with Four," Sam answered.
"As for me. Well there are several reasons we need to chat Eric. But only we need to discuss now. Only because I know you'll try to fight me on it," he sighed.
"Fucking lovely," I rolled my eyes.
"All active duty who lost a family member last week are required to do two forty-five minute sessions and an evaluation before returning to the field. This also includes Brandon and YOU," he said in his head leader tone.
"Fuck off. Not happening," I growled.
"These are orders Eric, and they AREN'T optional. If you don't comply by the end of you're two week furlough, I will extend it until you do." He wasn't fucking around. I however was not giving in easily.
"That is such bull shit Max! No offense Doc, but I don't need a fucking shrink. I'm good thanks!," I tried not to raise my voice too much.
"No you're not," Sam said so quietly I almost missed it.
I narrowed my eyes at her. "Traitor," I said rolling my eyes.
"Eric at least one session. Please? We can do it together," Sam pleaded.
I groaned. Shit. She just wanted to help and I know she's worried after my outburst and nightmare last night. Fuck why can't I tell this woman no?
"One. With Sam. Twenty minutes," I grumbled.
"Two. Thirty minutes. The evaluation is non-negotiable. You and Brandon are required before returning for duty. Stop being an asshole Eric. If it weren't required of you, you'd be one hundred percent on board,"Max was not backing down or fighting fair.
"Fucking traitor. Both of you," I nodded at Sam too.
"They just care about you Eric. Stop being such a pompous ass," my mother snapped.
I just glared but said nothing. I knew better, that bitch would kick my ass. Only I get to call her a bitch though.
Adam burst threw the door with Four. Saved by the kid. I gave all of them a look indicating this conversation was over for now.
"Nice to see you home Eric. Stop by my office later and we'll finish catching up," Max stood and headed for the door.
"BYE MAYUCKS," Adam shouted as he climbed into Sam's lap.
"Good bye Adam," Max waved.
I excused myself to go shower and sulk. It was going to be a long two weeks. After getting dressed, the first thing I did was e-mail Tana. Inviting her to the wake and also asking if she could stay a day or two and help me go threw Dar's things.
She answered back quickly, just as Jeanine had. She thanked me profusely and accepted both offers. Next I checked with Lydia to finalize details for Friday.
After a late breakfast with my family, I grabbed Adam and went to my office. It felt weird sitting at my desk after being in the field for the last two months.
"Daddy? Tan we det take? I wan choctolet take pweese?" Adam asked.
"Sure buddy. Let's get some cake."
Time to face my faction.

Home is where the people you love are- Lukadrien June Day 15
Oh look, another Degrassi inspired fic. It follows day 5 of @lukadrien-june, which I don’t remember if it got reblogged? Anyway, It’s a cannon divergant, with mama Agreste still alive but Adrien going through the struggles of his parents splitting. As a product of parents splitting up and constantly moving, I understand the feeling of you home just feeling like it’s disappearing but I guess like the title and what Luka says, I eventually realised that so that’s why when I was at college, it became home cause my friends and things that made me feel safe where there. The states have always been my home but Trinidad (the country) is another home of mine for 7 years and still is. So yeah, if you feel the same, cool. If not, then home is what you define it as. Anyway, enjoy. Home
Adrien stared at the pocket watch in his hand, as it gently swung back and forth. His parents were getting divorced It was happening. They’d been so mad when he came home late from his date with Luka, that for a while, he did things to make them angry. Skipped photo shoots, was rude when dragged to events, pointing out all the things they wouldn’t like about Luka. God, he felt horrible for doing that. He invited Luka to meet his parents and set the dogs loose on him just to get under his parents skin. Luka had every right to be angry and never talk to him again but Juleka told him he seemed worried and was mostly just upset that meeting his parents didn’t go as planned since he wanted them to like him. That just made Adrien feel worse.
Even coming home from detention could save his parents’ marriage. They were separating and there wasn’t anything he could do to change that. Then, when he came downstairs  this next morning, he found out they were selling the mansion. Not that he cared he was gonna lose the big house, and the huge room, but it was more about he was going to lose a place he called home his whole life. He knew his dad worked hard to be discovered and create a name his family could be proud of. To see the product of that hard work, his first house for his family just be given away like that, Adrien didn’t know what to do. They’d already started sorting out things that his father would take to the separate loft apartment he had near the fashion house and what he and his mother would take to their new home, wherever that would be. The pocket watch in his hand was one his father had forever, a gift given to him by Adrien’s mother. He remembered his father, even in his very busy times, taught Adrien to tell time on that watch. It was in a box labelled junk. Everything he knew about his home was crumbling away and it was like his parents didn’t even care.
“Adrien, we’re here.” Nathalie said. She turned in her seat before he could open the door. “I know what’s going on seems like a lot to deal with but they’ll be happier in the end.”
“And what about me? Doesn’t my happiness matter?” he didn’t wait for a response as he got out of the car and walked up the steps.
As usual, Nino was waiting for him with a usual huge smile, which dimmed when he saw Adrien’s face.
“Whoa, what’s wrong dude?”
Adrien hadn’t told his friends the full extent of what was going on. Just the bare pieces.
“My parents are getting divorced and selling the house. Not to mention I totally used Luka to make them mad so they’d stay mad at me and somehow that would save their marriage.”
“Dude.” Nino said, sounding as sorry as he looked. “I know it was bad, I didn’t realise it was this bad. Though, in slightly better news, there is someone waiting for you by your locker.”
When he heard that, he sprinted before he could fully think. He startled a few people as he swung the door to the locker room open. Leaning against his locker was Luka, who gave him a small smile.
“I’m so sorry.” Adrien started.
“I know.”
“I should of never did that and I totally understand if you want nothing to do with me.”
“Adrien.”
“But please know I’m really sorry. I wanted this to work but if it can’t then…”
“Adrien.” Luka said firmly, “I forgive you. I’m not happy how you handled it but I know with everything going on, it seemed like an easy solution. Just promise me the next time I can meet them, you’ll only sing me praises?”
Adrien let out a sigh of relief as he nodded. “I promise. Thank you. It didn’t work anyway, my parents are splitting and in the latest news, they’re selling the house. I’m losing my home and my childhood. Honestly, it’s pure force that’s keeping me from sinking low enough for an akuma to attack me.”
Luka pulled Adrien into a tight hug. “I know this sucks, but it’ll be ok. And maybe you won’t have to lose your home.”
Confused, Adrien pulled back and stared at Luka. “What do you mean?”
“Well, there’s a kid in my school who has divorced parents but still stays in the house because the parents move back and forth. Was there already a place one of yours was gonna stay?”
Adrien nodded. “My dad has a loft apartment near the fashion house. Which also isn’t far from studio my mom films at. That’s perfect! Luka, you’re a genius!”
“Oh, I don’t know about that. So, Marinette mentioned the bakery is closed because her mom was in a mood for making a bunch of dim sum. She said a good portion of it would be done by the time our school’s get off for lunch. I was gonna come by and meet you guys, will I see you there?”
Another excuse to go on a date with Luka and continue to make up for the mess he caused? Adrien wanted to say yes, but he needed to know if this answer would work first.
“Rain check? If I get back before you have to go, I could have Gorilla drive you over?”
“Fun, sitting in silence with your over protective bodyguard. I’ll settle for a kiss. Think I can get an advance now?”
Adrien wasted no time kissing Luka. He hoped that if his parents agreed, that they’d have a do over of meeting Luka. If he couldn’t get the chance to sneak him up to his room to kiss him, he wasn’t living.
                                               ________________
“You think this is gonna work?” Plagg asked. He’d been quite these days, mostly acting as a silent support system to the sudden cold silences that filled the house.
“I hope so. It’s the least they could do for taking my home away from me.”
“But think of all the cheese I’d get to have.”
Adrien rolled his eyes and looked down at the god of destruction that was sticking out from his over shirt, “If this goes well, I’ll pay Chloe myself to give me their best cheese.”
“Well, now you’re talking.”
Adrien opened the front door and quickly reached the area where his father’s office was. Even if they weren’t separated, he knew his parents would be in the office, working away. Nathalie was standing in the room between the two desks, looking surprised when Adrien came in.
“Adrien, what are you doing here?”
“Darling, is something wrong?” his mother asked getting up from her desk, his father following from his own. “you don’t usually come home during lunch.”
“I know, but I have a proposal.”
“Sounds like what you said when you didn’t want to be homeschooled any more.” his father pointed out.
“We don’t have to sell the house. I want to stay here.”
“And who would stay with you?” his father asked slowly.
“Both of you.”
“Adrien.” his mother started but he stopped them.
“No. you two would be the ones to go back and forth. The loft apartment is within equal distances of where you work so it’s not like it’ll be an issue. You guys take turns to come back and forth to the house and I can stay here.”
“Adrien, that wouldn’t work. It’d be too hard for us.” his mother said.
Adrien felt his face drop. “So you won’t even consider it?”
“I’m sorry, no.”
Adrien let out a disbelieving laugh. “You’re taking everything from me and you can’t even be bothered to do anything to make things easier. Forget it, you threw such a fit to let me even go to school, why would I expect you to change now.” he stormed out of the office, ignoring his parents’ calls. He felt bad that Gorilla was just coming into the house as he pushed out. He heard him huff and follow him, not giving him his usual look when Adrien slammed the door shut. He felt Plagg start to purr against him. All it did was cause his eyes to sting. Everything was crumbling and if he went with it he’d be akumatized, which would put Plagg in danger. It just felt like he was started to please everyone else first instead of helping himself.
He reached school again, sulking out of the car.
“Adrien!” he turned to see the rest of his class, holding containers from Marinette’s family bakery. Right, the dim sum picnic. He saw Luka with them. He remembered his promise, but he didn’t know if he had it in him to kiss Luka and not cry.
“We were getting attacked by pigeons so we’re gonna finish inside. Did you eat at home?” Alya asked. Adrien shook his head, not doing much to hide his expression. Alya seemed to notice that and decided to turn to everyone. “Come on! Let’s set it up in class!”
everyone agreed and followed Alya back inside while Luka passed his box to Marinette. He watched Adrien swipe at his eyes and walk towards the door and went after him.
“Adrien. Adrien, wait!” he grabbed the blonde’s arm and turned him around. His green eyes where watery but the more he swiped at them, the easier they started to fall.
“They said no. my own parents don’t seem to care that along with taking my family away, they’re taking my home. Everything is slipping away from me and it’s all I can do to keep myself from being akumatized because at this point, I’m questioning, what’s the point?”
“Listen to me ok? Your home isn’t where you sleep at night. It’s where the people you care about are. That classroom, with all your classmates, that’s a home. Chloe’s hotel room, that’s one. Marinette’s room where you to scream at a screen for hours, the park where you can chase down Andre, the boat house where you listen to me stum at my guitar. All those places can be home because the people you love and care about are there. And nothing is slipping away ok? Not your parents’ love for you, not how much your friends care about and not me, ok? I’m not going anywhere.”
Adrien threw his arms around Luka’s neck, unable to hold his tears any more. Luka just pulled him in closer, shushing him as he let out the pain he’d been feeling.
“It’s gonna be ok, I promise.”

“Here you go love.” Anarka said, handing Adrien a cup of tea.
Adrien had spent the ret of lunch crying on Luka’s shoulder – which he felt bad about, there was a huge stain on his shoulder, but Luka brushed it off – and the minute school was over, Luka brought him to the boat house. He could hear the others above deck but other than hearing Alix ask who’s butt they needed to kick for making him cry, they kept their distance. He was glad. He didn’t feel up for being around everyone just yet.
“Thanks. I’m sure you didn’t want to have to babysit me while I avoid going home.” Adrien said, a bit embarrassed his boyfriend’s mom was seeing the aftermath of being extremely emotional.
“Parents separating it never easy, not on anyone. Never experienced it myself, but I feel that my kids growing up without a father is as close as they could get.”
He knew Luka’s dad died when Juleka had been pretty young. “I know it couldn’t be easy but seems better than having to deal with the horrible silences.”
“Yes, but it helped us learn something. We didn’t always used to live on this house boat. It was used mainly for vacations but after their father died, Luka insisted we live here. He said that it was so we could be closer to his dad. This place was filled with his love.”
Adrien gave a small smile, remembering what Luka told him before he broke down. “Luka said that home isn’t where you sleep, but where the people you love and care about are.”
“Exactly.” Anarka patted Adrien’s cheek. “you have one here and wherever people love you. If it feels like too much, you’re more than welcome to stay here. I have trust you and Luka will be responsible.”
Feeling a little flush at what she was insinuating, Adrien just nodded and took a sip of his tea.
“Hey Adrien,” he looked over his shoulder to where Luka was on the steps, just leaning in, “There’s someone here to see you.”
He had no clue who it could be until Luka move closer to the wall, and his mother came down into the kitchen and living room.
“Mom?”
“Ohp, should probably skedaddle above deck.” Anarka said, getting up and heading to the stairs.
“Oh wait. You must be Ms. Couffaine, Luka’s mother. It’s a pleasure to meet you. You’ve raised such an amazing boy. I feel very comforted in the fact that he and Adrien are together. They’re a perfect match.”
Did is mother not remember the disaster the meet parents dinner was?
“Well thank you very much. I’m glad to know Adrien too. He tells me you taught him to play piano and he’s quite the player. Also, big fan of your work.”
“Thank you. I’m glad to hear that.”
“Well, we’ll leave you two.” Anarka pushed  her son up the stairs, though Adrien saw Luka give him a supportive smile before he disappeared.
He watched his mother slowly take steps over to him. Rocking boat and heels never did make the best combination.
“How did you know I was here?”
“Didn’t turn off your phone tracker. And your boyfriend called me.”
“Luka called you?” Adrien asked.
His mother nodded, looking at him with those kind eyes of hers. “I know you told us a lot of his faults at dinner but I can see why you date him in the first place. He called and told us that even if the issues between me and your father are difficult that it’s affecting you too and if we didn’t try and do something soon, something could happen to you that we’d feel guilty about. Which I immediately guessed he meant getting Akumatized. I didn’t realise what was going on was causing you that much grief. We should of, but it was hard when we were only focusing on ourselves.”
Adrien looked down at his hands. “I don’t know what changed and I know you two were different but I thought if you stayed with dad through his transition from armature to professional designer, you could stay together through everything.” when he saw her hands rest on his, he looked up.
“I wish they could darling. Sometimes, I doesn’t work like that. But, that doesn’t mean you should suffer through it. We talked it over and, your father and I are going to switch between the house and the loft. Nathalie already lives in the mansion so she can keep an eye on you in case we’re both out of town, but you can stay.”
“Really? Are you serious? Oh, Mom, thank you so much!” he cried, snatching her into a tight hug.
“So before your father and I have to separate our own things, how about we do a do over first dinner with your boyfriend? I think anyone willing to lecture his boyfriend’s parents on his mental well being must be something special.”
“Yeah, he’s pretty amazing.”
