OVERALL i really enjoyed the soundtrack i love how it tries and takes you through the course of the episode and it’s so so fun!! almost feels like video game music sometimes which is so so good for them like YES drop a new wish video game it would be so good !!!!

you guys are not gonna believe what i just beat red with LMFAO. set mode + no items in battle (held items ok) + i am like 30 levels underleveled on all of my guys. partially for my own amusement and pride, partially to spite people who talk about how much you "have to" grind in johto games

it took a few attempts since my strategy relies on some decent luck to happen but there's a few ways it could go and i could succeed! and it really didn't take that long!! explanation below the cut for anyone who wants to nerd about this with me

red leads with his pikachu, i lead with meganium. EQ isn't quite a one shot and i have to reset if he lands charm on me, but sometimes he chooses thunder and sometimes charm misses so it's not that bad. i just spam EQ and let him waste his full restores until pikachu goes down

next he sends out venusaur, and i set up light screen and then spam body slam until it paralyzes, which happens most of the time since i resist all his grass moves + am behind a light screen and i get a lot of chances for that 30% paralysis as a result

i let meganium go down for the clean swap into houndoom, who is able to take the venusaur out with one flamethrower after meganium chipped it a bunch (she outspeeds because the venusaur is paralyzed!!)

he sends out his blastoise next, depending on the state of light screen, sunny day from his venusaur, etc, i choose to go into politoed to resist surf or snorlax who can weather hits in general and stall the blastoise out. in my winning attempt i went to politoed, and land a hypnosis after missing it once, so now politoed is low

this is the one part that's particularly RNG heavy - i swap into magneton and use thunder twice for the KO. this requires blastoise to stay asleep long enough for thunder's shitty accuracy to actually land twice. i do have a quick claw which boosts the odds of it going well just a little bit. in this case it works out

red sends out espeon so i swap into houndoom, hopefully on a baited psychic but unfortunately he goes for reflect instead. my houndoom just barely misses out on the 2 shot and goes down to some swifts even from full HP smh. so i have to send out my snorlax who can take one psychic and take espeon's last remaining bits of HP with a body slam

now for the fun part. red sends out his snorlax. who for some reason only has normal attacking moves, snore and body slam. so i send out the gengar i trained up for catching the roamers (technically he is literally the only pokemon i ever grinded levels on in my entire playthrough because i decided i wanted him last minute and had already fought every trainer in the game, but it wasn't that bad + he's nearly 40 levels under red's team still lmfao) and well. since snorlax took a ton of unexpected damage from psychic, i first do some very careful slow ass switching to get him back to full HP... with leftovers recovery. and then once that's done i use curse with gengar

in a perfect world, i use hypnosis after curse, it lands, and his snorlax just stays asleep through all the curse damage, but unfortunately he wakes up and uses rest - this puts him in a cycle where if i'm just sitting there with gengar, he'll never die from curse damage since he rests on the turn he would faint from the damage and wakes up and uses rest again in a loop like that. SO to get him to faint from curse without having to literally PP stall him, on his second turn of rest i swap into politoed who is on low HP (this is safe because he's never going to choose a normal type attack against gengar), which baits body slam on his wake-up turn instead of using rest again, and then swap into gengar immediately to be immune to the body slam. gengar outspeeds and uses psychic to take out the singular HP point remaining

and at last all that's left is his charizard. i let gengar go down and swap into snorlax who's now at full HP again and use toxic, and now it's just a matter of a very iffy toxic stall. magneton and politoed being alive in the back means i can swap to them as sacrifices if i need a little more leftovers recovery, and in the end charizard goes down to toxic damage after rest + sleep talking him (in gen 2, if rest is called by sleep talk, even though the user is already asleep, they use rest again which resets the sleep counter and heals them again so yeah)

i'm unreasonably proud of this bullshit LMAO fuck level grinding man this is way more entertaining

Old fic idea where Luz is forced to team up with the Golden Guard to deal with the inspiration for the Xenomorphs.

Modern AU where Azure, the head of security in a fancy casino, meets a beautiful golden man.

Encanto AU where, after Mariano successfully proposes to Isabella, Mirabel moves out to an apprenticeship with the village seamstress. A few weeks later, however, Abuela is forced to come to the realization that Mirabel is the future candle holder and tries to make her come home. Mirabel, working on therapy, has one condition: that Abuela apologizes.

first try is out fast due to me forgetting about Accelerock, but if Stone Edge doesn't Crit, then any Smeargle can live it. it's in range of Accelerock, though.

second shot... Fuchsia as my lead instead, swap to Viridian with a Sitrus berry? no, still to low to live Accelerock. i think i have to even let both of them get KO'd. i really want that Leech Seed for Snorlax, just in case...

what if i give... Fuchsia a Sitrus berry as well, then hit... either Play Rough or Leech Seed on the Stone Edge? then it should Accelerock as i switch into Viridian. if i have any way to not lose either of these two now, this is probably my best bet.

Leech Seed... healed to much for Accelerock, and that was a crit anyways. forget the Sitrus berry, and that looks- ok, first time Stone Edge was used out the gate! and two misses, this looks like a lucky run in. Rocks, Web, last Stone Edge KOs Viridian, i'll try to go Cinnabar to Spore first, then try Cerulean Sweep.

1 P-U.P. before KO to Leeching, that did more than i thought. Incineroar's second out, and... down to 25%. it's Cross Chop gets me down to 1 HP, so i go for P-U.P. thinking Kukui'd heal- misplay now that i'm typing it, EQ all the time there. it lives on 1, and then it hits Cross Chop again since it's 100% accurate. does... he not have healing items? he didn't heal it the next turn. thaaaat, that's huge for me.

Braviary up, and Cinnabar can give it the usual. it lives two Psychics, so tanky thing, Tailwind, and- OH. now he heals! 1 full restore, gotta count these up! this pattern can continue a bit, and it goes down first.

Ninetales next, i think it's Saffron to hit with Lava Plume. Alolan Ninetales, after all. with Tailwind, it can outspeed Saffron though, and hits a Blizzard, and LP does less than 25%. it won't miss Blizz. Cinnabar for the rare Acid Spray spam? it uses Safeguard, no Sporing for now and no healing this time, Ninetales down!

Snorlax is up. we're 3 and 2, this is why i wanted to save Fuchsia and her Leech Seed. she can get a hit in before going down, and Cinnabar proves MVP status again as Safeguard runs out. a few turns later, Kukui's second Full Restore comes out. i have 2 Spore PP left, so i hit the last useful Acid Spray before Spore, and Energy Ball+Leech Seed does a good bite- before it wakes up ASAP and lands a paralyzing Body Slam. i just gotta take the Heavy Slam this last turn it's up.

lastly, Magnezone. Vermilion has Shadow Ball and Struggle Bug, and i think if there's any way for me to win, it's gonna be in these moves. and yet, it landed a Thunder Wave early. i think that's actually it for this run. it's a slow petering out, i'll summarize that much for y'all.

i can't deny that this was lucky already, and if i had gotten even luckier, i could've still won- the Snorlax getting a short Spore and landing that Paralyzing Body Slam being the worst of it. none of the Smeargle actually got 1-shot, so the focus items aren't helping...

a nice long route, and now i know for sure he has 2 Full restores. its getting past the Lycanroc in a good enough spot. and frankly, the easiest way to do that is for it to miss Stone Edges, and i just realized it didn't even get Rocks out this run. MAN.

i'll try poking around for a good lead in without needing TOO much luck, but as it stands, i don't like my odds that much!

But his nickname is Harvey Blue and is famous for his Blues music before he got a band the music thing was his hobby before sprouted being infected.

His business cards have music notes on them and has the numbers 5267 the word Jams in telephone numbers.

The female bear mutualism fungmammal is called Honeybunz.

Honeybunz is a cinnamon mixed with a sticky bun bear shaped creature so a mimic that is mimicking another thing.

Harvey Blue is nice and doesn't eat people but eats normal foods and rarely eats inanimate object unless he plays his guitar or a instrument then does the smashing thing to later consume to clean up the mess.

Infected Realtor's eat human like by the lure body that travels to their house body to consume or just consume like a human would and eats the normal way by the floor or any part of the house.

His favorite dessert mostly anything but if a fan gives him a sticky or honey bun he will eat it in a area where Honeybunz isn't there because he thinks it's weird.

But Honeybunz doesn't mind and likes to eat human shaped gingerbread cookies and gummies that are human shaped.

If Hovy Guasu Óga or Harvey Blue finds out a Infected or a Non Infected Realtor infiltrated his venue to buyer hunt then he would politely ask them why they were here and where are their backstage pass are.

If they don't have a pass he will politely ask the intruder to leave and if they don't heed his warning then he will get some of his band members to rough the intruder up then toss them out while putting a banned picture of the intruder.

Each banned person gets their real name with a joke names written underneath the mugshot picture.

The more I work with this deck, the more it feels like a real-talk oracle card, really a thing of its own. Not a toxic positive overly optimistic oracle deck that sees the world through rose colored glasses, certainly, but not the depth and complexity that the 78 RWS or the 130+ card Alleyman's Tarot. A bigger deck with smaller layouts seems to be the sweet spot for my intuition.

See, we learned something right there.

Finding - and frequently using - your intuitive comfort zone is not only OK but it is a good idea to better readings for yourself in the end. BUT at the same time learning, growing, and expanding that comfort zone is equally important. How else are you going to know what your optimum intuition conditions ARE?

That little bit of meta-analysis aside, let's look at today's card, the Snake.

All of the animal related ideas from the Bear last week still apply, just swap out the bear characteristics for snake characteristics.

Which I may not be super objective about.

I was born in the year of the wood snake - the green snake. After I learned about Taoism, feng shui, I ching and the like, I've always resonated with my chinese astrology symbol just as much if not more than my western Pisces sun sign. Although I don't know anything about sidereal vs tropical astrology, all I know is that I'm Pisces in both, which in itself is supposed to mean something in itself, I think. I'll leave that to the astrology adepts of you to figure out. But back to Snake.

The Christopher Butler guidebook to this Healing Light Lenormand deck reads the Snake as someone deceptive with malicious intent (Hey!)

Like owls, snakes are feared in some cultures, revered in others. Makes sense, because in the real world the old nope rope may be either harmless or lethal and you have to know something about them to be able to tell which is which. That's not the snake being deceptive. It's up to you to know "Red touches black, no worries for Jack. Red touches yellow, dangerous fellow." and so on.

Knowledge arms you against deception, both literally and figuratively. But that's another story.

Chinese astrology, the restaurant place mat edition, reflects the real world duality.  Snake year people can be stubborn, opinionated, intimidating with a heaping helping of hubris to go with it. But at the same time they are viewed as intelligent, wise, creative and intuitive.

Or, as the Sirius Black character says in one of the Harry Potter books "We've all got both light and dark inside us. What matters is the part we choose to act on. That's who we really are."

Part of enlarging our comfort zone, part of learning new things is associating them with things we know well. Just like with the oracle dice from the last "Learn  With Me" series I associate this with a few RWS Tarot cards, the Devil and the Three of Swords. Both acknowledge the malevolent side of human nature, cautions us to be on guard as well as asking us to be honest with ourselves about our deepest motives. Are we being deceptive, or are we being deceived.

As for the playing card inset, the queen of clubs, in my system of reading playing cards (I intend to write about that in an upcoming book) the Queen of Clubs is analogous to the Queen of Wands with a message of nurturing and self-care. Watching your back and taking care for your safety is, indeed, self-care.is
