Two NYE ago means 2015 NYE right? Since Harry was with that girl, and she was pretty mad at that time, maybe she was reminiscing about their time together and hoping to find someone who'd stay and then after meeting Joe she repurposed it because she thought she found that love she was searching for with Joe. I think most of reputation is her repurposing songs/ideas that were about something/someone else. And Joe just fit but some songs definitely has part Joe in them too. So I guess she succeeded in that bait and switch thing

That video, (which Taylor Nation has cut at 24:38 from their version) is from Chicago 27 June 2018, so she is referring to NYE 2016/17. (side note: Harry was also in Chicago 30 June 2018. In his next show he changed the Lyrics to MMIH to 'running with thieves you'... a few weeks before Hamille ended due to cheating......)

We have been told a few things to tell us she was with Joe then:

In 2018 the Reputation magazines included photos from Stella McCartney's farm in Bishampton (on the pages adjacent to NYD) and in January 2016 Joe posted a photo of himself woods that also had trees... not the same trees, but OK... I guess.

In 2019 in promo for A Christmas Carol Joe told interviewers he swims in Hampstead Heath every christmas, which many linked to Paper Rings, along with a very natural photo of Taylor painting a literal wall. And maybe he does, just him, his family and (long time lcy swim enthusiast) Harry Styles and by chance no one ever photographed or spoke about it.

Then on 30 December 2020 Taylor was hacked and the only photos they got/leaked was 7 (rather odd) images of Taylor and Joe getting ready on that new years eve. Amazingly they had access to Taylor Swift's camera roll and only leaked 7 PG images that placed her with Joe the at the time of a story Taylor Nation edited out of one of their videos about an icy swim on NYE, almost on the anniversary of when they were taken. (The 7 Photos were in 2 drops, the proper (non-mirror) selfies leaked October 2021.)

So why do I doubt this? Any alternative version is pure speculation we don't know where Taylor was NYE 16/17. But the edited video is weird, and I find the above odd.

FIrstly New Year's Day seems like an 1989 outtake to me, the story also fits the NYE 2012/13 Haylor Kiss that did involve hardwood floors, a Taxi in which to squeeze hands, a lobby girls could carry shoes in and an insane crowd that did make it hard and probably made them feel lost. And she looked ready to cry performing it while she was dating Joe?

Where was Harry on New Years Eve 2016/17?

Well he was spotted with Taylor on 28 December 2016 in Liverpool. Within a few days, one of his friends signed a record for Taylor to gift Austin Swift. Austin thanked the band who replied "when someone asks you to sign a record for their "friends little brother' and the friend turns out to be Taylor Swift."

After being missing for a few days he was next seen taking photos with fans in Holmes Chapel (1.5 hours drive from Stella's farm) on New Years Eve.

But wait! Taylor said she and Joe had been together for 3 months in the Lover Journal? What she said was "we" maybe that was Joe and we didn't find out for another 5 months. Or maybe she was with someone else.... in this entry shaped like a butterfly.

Updated with more.. so I question adding this and need to cavet that haylorsecrets was an account that claimed to have inside info from Taylors PR office and lost the inside connection (in hindsight after Taylor fired her publicist before Tree in 2014) they then had a friend who fed them some info. It may have all been made up, but they were right about some things. Looking for another post I saw these where she posted in February 2017 that Harry and Taylor had been together at christmas. Drama Accountability Pinned Post!

EDITED November 24, 2024: Hello! Thank you for landing here. This blog is devoted mostly to Asian drama and movie reviews and meta analyses, along with your random fashion post and maybe a floating meditation on parenting along the way. This pinned post will help me keep track of where my scattered brain is at with what I’m watching, what I want to watch, and what I have watched.

My major focus regarding dramas is in completing what I’m calling the Old GMMTV Challenge (OGMMTVC), where I’m learning about the young history of Thai BLs through an expansive list of GMMTV and non-GMMTV dramas, to learn about the genre’s fumbles and improvements, as recommended by @absolutebl in their original post on the topic. I’m also inspired to learn about the development of Thai BL as an art form, complete with tropes, frameworks, and responsive commentaries, as described by @miscellar in an analysis post on Bad Buddy the Series. 

I’m also catching up in general with other classic and/or essential QLs of all other Asian countries, reviews of which you can check out on this tag. 

I tend to go down actor/actress rabbitholes when I’ve watched a drama of theirs that I have fallen in love with; I don’t always watch things chronologically; I LOVE SHOWS ABOUT FOOD AND/OR COCKTAILS, and I’m still new to Tumblr fandoms. lotf based on william golding's time in ww2- his exposure to the horrors of human nature during his time in the war inspired the core themes of the novel, again probably common knowledge for those who have studied the book

simon is jesus- simon is heavily implied to be an allegorical figure representing jesus (the link is much more explicit in earlier drafts of the novel). william golding expands on this idea in his essay 'fable', i'd recommend reading it if you're curious.

roger and simon are canonically POC- i added this one because i often see fanart of them (mainly roger tbf, though i have seen some of simon as well) as white so figured it wasn't completely common knowledge. both are described as having darker skin tones in the novel.

all female lotf- the controversial all-female film adaptation of lotf announced back in 2017. the idea was scrapped (presumably due to backlash and staff changes) and it is now going to be an all-male adaptation directed by luca guadagnino! i'm so hyped for it!!!

pig's head is satan- the eponymous 'lord of the flies' is based on beelzebub, another title for satan (or sometimes a separate demon depending on who you ask)

piggy's real name is charles- not sure how common this is tbf but i often see people stating piggy's real name as charles in fanfiction. there isn't evidence for this in canon so i assume it is just a popular fan headcanon

Mid-Depth:

nopeimnotrussian art- i see art by this person literally everywhere when i'm looking up lotf fanart and i only found out who they were today. they make a ton of jalph content and generally seem pretty cool.

lotf stageplays/musicals- i was going to list a specific example but there are so many of these it was difficult to choose one. i really want to see one someday

retribution- another popular lotf fanfic written by circadian lily on fanfiction.net/AmRye on AO3. i'd highly recommend reading this one, it's so good

lotf is a fanfic- lotf is partially a satire of 'the coral island' by r.m. ballantyne and other similar coming-of-age adventure stories for boys which were popular at the time. the main characters are called ralph and jack in both works, and some phrases in lotf are taken almost word for word from the coral island.

piggy's real name is peterkin- the character peterkin in the coral island (see above) seems to have partially been the inspiration for both simon and piggy. the name simon may have been based on peterkin (as peter from the bible later took on the name simon), but i like to consider piggy's real name to be peterkin since it isn't already being used by another character as it is.

eastern bunny- an artist who made several popular fanarts i often see being reposted (such as one of jack and ralph holding child versions of the other major characters, and one of jack holding a spear up to ralph's neck). sadly i'm fairly certain their tumblr has been deleted, but they are very talented and i love their work.

ralph's mum- ralph's mother is mentioned to have been absent from ralph's life in the book but it is unclear whether she left her family voluntarily or died. i've seen different interpretations in fanfiction.

characters that only appear in the 1990s movie- there are several characters mentioned by name in the 1990s movies that did not appear in the original book, such as dominic. i always feel excited when i see people mention them (same for obscure characters from the book itself like stanley and walter)

irl lotf- there are actually multiple cases of events similar to lotf occurring in real life, the most well-known one being this one i believe

Deep:

1963 movie deleted scenes- there are around 2 hours of additional footage which were cut from the 1963 film adaptation of lotf, including several important scenes which were key to ralph's character development such as the interaction between jack and ralph in chapter 3 of the novel. while i sadly haven't been able to find a lot of these deleted scenes, you can see some of them online such as the one i just mentioned, which is available here.

fable essay- this essay was written as part of a larger collection of essays entitled 'dreams'. it is included in the back of the education edition of lotf which is widely available in bookstores in my country (england), although i imagine you can find it elsewhere if you want to read it. it provides some interesting insights into golding's thought process while writing the novel as well as some extra details on characters and themes.

original first chapter- lotf originally had an extra chapter at the start which expanded more on the nuclear war occurring in the background of the present novel and the circumstances behind the plane crash which triggered the novel's events. this chapter was later cut as many of the publishers who rejected the novel particularly disliked it. the original draft of lotf is currently being held by the university of exeter in england. it's my dream to go and read it one day.

living lord of the flies- a 2013 mini-documentary narrated by tom gaman (who played simon in the 1963 movie) about the production of the movie and his experiences during filming.

alkitrang dugo- a lesser-known filipino lotf movie adaptation from 1975. i haven't been able to find this anywhere so i haven't seen it sadly, but i know it had both male and female characters stranded on the island.

jack is based on younger william golding- i don't remember where i read this so admittedly i'm not sure how reliable it is, but i feel that there is some basis to jack being based on william golding himself. golding was fairly problematic when he was younger (and in general actually), having once attempted to rape a 15 year old when he was 18, for example.

continuity errors- i thought i made a post on this a while back but i can't find it for the life of me (it might have been on the since-deleted lotf amino actually)- essentially, there a couple of continuity errors in the novel which i think about excessively even now, i.e.- henry is referred to as a littlun and a bigun at different points in the novel, maurice's height is inconsistent, and bill is simultaneously in both ralph and jack's tribes for a bit.

Mariana Trench:

lotf is set in 1952- i've seen a lot of debate about when exactly lotf is set, and there is technically a canon answer to this. in the original draft of lotf, the novel ends with the time and date: '16.00, 2nd October, 1952.' however, it's possible that this would have been changed in the final version of the novel. i personally headcanon the year lotf is set in as 1954, the same year it was published.

beating scene in 1963 movie was real- this scene was based on the scene in the novel where jack orders wilfred to be beaten for essentially no reason. in the movie, the actor volunteered to actually be beaten for this scene.

irl roger- the actor who played roger in the 1963 movie, roger (!!!) elwin, was basically just his character in real life. apparently he used to throw live lizards into fans while on set. when the production staff asked him why he was doing it, he answered that he wanted to see how many pieces they would be cut into.

rape scene- the scene in the novel where the boys hunt and kill the sow that later becomes the lord of the flies is apparently supposed to resemble a rape, illustrated by phrases such as 'wedded to her in lust' and by the place roger stabs her in. i was pretty freaked out when i first saw this interpretation of that scene, it gives an already disturbing scene an even darker context.

william golding performed social experiments on his students- golding was a teacher at bishop wordsworth school in salisbury, england while he was writing lotf. during this time he frequently ran experiments on his students in which he split them into groups and set them against each other, much like in lotf. some of the characters in lotf may also have been based on golding's students.

deleted jalph ending- while the lotf fandom wiki seems to be a bit better maintained now, when i first joined the fandom about 4 years ago it was super chaotic and filled with random edits. one of these was a claim that there william golding initially wrote an alternate ending to the novel in which jack and ralph get together, which was later removed. i just thought it was funny so i decided to add it here.

32. short yellow dreads. what even was this. doesn’t even have the our sweet baby charm. dead last.

31. dreads. objectively also the worst. there’s something sweet about him in that era like our sweet baby is not to be underestimated but for ranking purposes it is the worst.

30. hiatus hair. wasn’t a fan of this at all. can’t pinpoint why.

29. 2008 hair. this is like non-hair. try harder.

28. 2013 long hair. many of you know that long hair frank is truly my beloved. but this just didn’t do it for me.

A classic. The very first iteration of Youkaimatsu. Kind of hard to find since it was a bonus poster from the character book, so unless you were actively looking for the book, you wouldn’t find this.

Osomatsu - Kitsune (unknown how many tails he has but is often depicted in fan artworks as 6 or 9, 9 meaning strongest/wisest a kitsune has been, Spirit Fox)

Karamatsu - Karasu-Tengu (pun on Kara, Bird Man)

Choromatsu - Dodomeki (usually a woman cursed with long arms littered with many bird eyes because of greed. Most popular one imo)

Ichimatsu + ESP Nyanko - Nekomata (Two-tailed cat, legend says that cats who live longer than a 100 years gain a second tail)

Jyushimatsu - Rokurobi (available in two flavors. Long Neck and Floating Head. He is the former. Theorized to not actually be a youkai but created for entertainment. Also used as a literary device for a wandering soul.)

Todomatsu - Yukki Onna (Also a joke on Todo being scared stiff. Yuki Onna pull tricks on humans that usually end on the person’s death via cold. Has a harsh and soft side)

Youkai Units from The Great Youkai War event from Hesokuri Wars (November 2016)

Most popular Youkaimatsu set, this baby could get milked for miles, but for some reason isn’t. Has a lot of variants (Awakened, Darkness, Snow, Sakura and Hyakki Yagyou) and connected to a lot of other sets: Denki Mystery, Colorless Overalls, Mononoke and a bunch of others. She is the top DOGG set.

Osomatsu - Shuten-Douji (Oni Leader with a penchance for Sake, literally carrying a big ass bottle of it on his back, since he is the leader of the sextuplets and the one seen drinking beer the most)

Karamatsu - Aoandon (Summoned after 100 supernatural stories are told. Originated from the blue (ao) paper lanterns (andon) that were sometimes used to give a chilling atmosphere)

Choromatsu - Daitengu (Great Tengu, Tengus were theorized to be ascended souls, but also has its origins in a Dog Beast that looked like a comet. For some reason Dog Beast turned into Bird Man. The bird man’s beak is often anthropomorphized into long noses. Tells humanity to behave by throwing invisible stones at them)

Ichimatsu - Nine-tailed Kitsune (So wise. So powerful)

Jyushimatsu - Inugami (Dog God that possesses people)

Todomatsu - Bake-Danuki (also known as tanuki, mischievous spirits, mostly known in pop culture for their BIG FAT NUTS)

Dayon is a miko, a shrine maiden. Hatabou is an Onmyoji, an exorcist, Dekapan is a kannushi, a shrine priest. Totoko and Iyami are regular civillians

A BUNCH OF PEOPLE REMINDED ME AND HOW COULD I FORGET THE BEST YOUKAI EVER. Osoma baby,,,, I’m so sorry..... Srsly, this skit was so good, I hope they make more skits like this where they make entirely new characters out of the framework of the sextuplets.

Osoma - A Zashiki-warashi, child spirits who live in store rooms or extra rooms, they died buried in their homes. Pranksters but meeting one is said to bring good fortunes to families. Osoma gets crossovered a lot with the other Youkai sets in JP fanart. A popular pairing is Dodomeki Chorosuke (from Denki Mystery) and Osoma also Kitsune Osomatsu (from the poster) and Osoma.

Choroe - Not necessarily a youkai, in fact in the episode she’s presented as just a regular human. But is theorized often to be a Yama-uba. An old woman banished to the mountains. She provides shelter to weary travelers (in the myth it’s just a humble shelter but you know. an inn is also considered a shelter) before eating them. In one story she eats the recently birthed baby of a woman who had to give birth in the mountains. 

Mononoke from Hesokuri Wars (May 2019)

Technically they are all the same type of being, Mononoke, but they look different from each other. Mononoke can posses individuals and cause suffereing and even death. And technically they aren’t Youkais but Onryos, vengeful spirits. But Onryos can also be used to refer to youkais and truthfully I just wanna include this set cause their designs are so cool looking. This set’s attacks contain glimpses of units of other sets.

Ayakashi Sextuplet’s Retro Halloween Cafe merch from Web Kuji (October 2020)

Thank you @gradelstuff​ for telling me about this! Ayakashi are Youkai that appear above nearby bodies of water. Although the youkais they’re dressed up as (or are?) aren’t really what you would call ayakashi? Although it’s cafe themed, it isn’t actually from a cafe collaboration. These designs are merchandise meant to be won through lottery. So if say you really love Kara and Choro’s designs (I do), then tough luck buddy!

Osomatsu - Oni

Karamatsu - Now you may think he’s Dodomeki since he’s covered with eyes, but turns out there are two other eye-relateed youkai! Mokumokuren is a youkai phenomenon where eyes appear from torn paper walls and tatami floors, initially i thought this was it given the checkered pattern he was wearing. But he might actually be a Hyakume, a youkai covered head to toe in yellow eyes specifically. Underneath those eyes is a body of flesh roughly in the shape of a man. This Youkai isn’t particularly malicious, only detaching one of it’s many eyes to follow you and survey you for criminal activiy. He might also be a BackBeard, a youkai allegedly from the US, err that would make him a cryptid I guess? A Backbeard is often characterized as a shadow with a Yellow eye with a red iris in the center. Note: Backbeard’s true origins are not known as there doesn’t seem to be any cryprid called a Backbeard, it first entered the Japanese public eye as an antogonist in the show Gegege no Kitaro. Although ever since then this “yokai” has appeared in other media and games in Japan.

Choromatsu - He isn’t exactly dressed as it (only themed as it) but the youkai he represents is the one he’s holding, a Kasa-obake, One of my favorite youkais and it’s literally iconic. Thought to be a Tsukomogami, an object that gains a spirit after it turns 100 years old.

Ichimatsu - Edit: I’m not sure but he might be a Kuchisake-Onna. In the description attached to his teaser, it makes mention of specifically his wide smile, his dos dagger and his beautiful shirt. A kuchisake onna is a yokai that wanders in the street covering her face with a mask (skull mask for ichi) and a sharp object (his dos dagger). TW GORE DESCRIPTION: She asks you if you think she’s attractive and depending on your answer she muders you with her scissors, plunging it into you OR she takes off her mask showing her wide smile, her mouth slit at the corners to her ears and asks “how about now?” and depending on your reaction she cuts you in half with her sharp object OR she slits the corners of your mouth to look like hers. END DESCRIPTION. Ichi has the mask, sharp object, wide smile and “attractiveness”. Obviously it would be inappropriate to portray ichi in the same fashion as the kuchisake onna so he was probably given the internal organ tattoos to represent the gory yokai. (internal organs usually = gore in japan). This is speculah and he might be another youkai but this is all i can think of rn.

Jyushimatsu - sailor themed Jiangshi. Jiangshi are basically Zombies originally from Chinese culture. They hop around, and crave for life force. this little jyushimatsu has taken to tomato juice instead. (Bonus: the zombie that osomatsu is in the zombie set in hesokuri wars is also a Jiangshi)

Todomatsu - Kitsune (sly fox)

The latest and what sparked me to make this post tbh. This set reuses the Rokurobi design from the very first Youkaimatsu iteration! Full circle yo! I like to think of this set as an addition to the original youkaimatsu, since they’re both from the primary sources.

Jyushimatsu - Rokurobi (Again)

Totoko - Amabie (mermaid with three legs? prophesized about either good harvest or an epidemic, trivia: “Amabie” trended when Covid 19 hit the world)

Hatabou - Azukiarai (a youkai that originated from the sound of something like beans being washed near a river, anyone who comes near will fall into the river)

Dayon - Nopperabou (Faceless spirits that take the form of humans. They are harmless usually, they just scare humans)

Dekapan - Kappa (Mischievous River spirits)

That should be all of them!

Fic writer review [Or a fic writer tag game if you prefer]

I was tagged by @naralanis and I can already see her grin all the way from where I am xd Thank you, dear, for the tag, let’s see what are my answers, shall we.

1. How many works do you have on AO3?

*bursts out laughing* Adding both pseuds I have… 535 according to the account info but by counting them all I’m reaching 541 so I’m guessing it’s counting some drafts I need to re-find.

2. What’s your total AO3 word count?

I seriously hated you for this one xd I was going to do it by hand by I decided one-third there that I value my mental stability a little bit more xd according to the stats page back at a03 that number would be 1257884. It may be wrong. I think there should be a few more numbers up there but the majority of my works are one-shots so *shrugs* There’s also the fact that counting my ao3 things only is shaving off like half of it Xd Anyway, can we laugh at the fact that I’m a pain in the ass and that I’ve written a lot? More than I should have, that’s for sure

3. How many fandoms have you written for?

Trick question because I haven’t crossposted everything I wrote back in ffnet and I actually erased some fics from my account back there so the numbers are a little blurry there.

When I had the entirety of my work posted both in ffnet and a03 I had written for: Twilight (Bella/Alice) Glee (Faberry and there were a couple Pezberry and I don’t fucking remember the pairing name for Santana and Quinn), Harry Potter (Hermione/Ginny, Hermione/Narcissa, Hermione/Bellatrix) OUAT (SwanQueen and several oneshots focusing on the mad hatter and the blue fairy solely back at ffnet that were written in Spanish and never translated), I actually had a veeeery old au prompt of Frozen (Elsanna in where I wrote them as non sibilings), Rizzoli and Isles (Rizzles), Dishonored 2 (Emily Kaldwin/Alexi Mayhew), Lara Croft and Wonder Woman, Supergirl (SuperCorp/Supercat) I had a 100 one -or maybe two??- (Clexa), The Shannara Chronicles (Amberle/Eretreia [Or Princess Rover], Rwby [Blake Belladona/Yang], The Worst Witch (Hecate Hardbroom and Pippa Pentangle), The Half of it, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina (Madam Satan/Zelda Spellman) and… I think that’s it(?) I may be forgetting some but probably nothing important if I’m not remembering it lol.

4. Top 5 fics by kudos?

Ah, we are going to go there, uh? Xd My works are not the kudos and comment getting type Xd So I was quite surprised when I went to check this.

1: Cracked it I wrote this one back in 2017, it was a prompt done by an anon: Lena is nerding with one of her projects at home, mumbling mostly to herself because she’s stuck and Kara casually mentions how to solve the problem like it’s nothing. I really had some fun with this. It was back when some us, SQeeners were fully doing the jump between OUAT and SuperGirl (I mean, there had already been some crossover as for fandom is related but this when the girls were actually getting their conjoined voice within the fandom)

2: Dateless I honestly needed to check what this one was about but I think I can see why this one shot has the amount of kudos it has. It’s a short and sweet idea and responds to the Teachers Au that went SO well with SQ. Everyone thinks they hate each other and try to set them up with other people whilst they, in truth, are dating. I don’t remember if I wrote them as married rather than dating but despite being from 2017 as well is one cheeky enough to be cool Xd I probably would edit some lines now *shudders*

3: After you I truly didn’t expect this one to be top 3. Makes me think of a lot of things, if I’m being honest Xd. After you was a one shot written almost feverishly as an answer to the fabulous drawings that Sejic did of both Lara Croft and Wonder Woman back at 2018 or something. It’s just Lara and Diana being himbos but not at all with each other.

4: How about… How about is one I remember perfectly, it was my answer to the ending of the Half of it film. I had SOME thoughts about it, let’s just stop there Xd I really liked the film itself but I think and I thought at the time that my response to wishing for a final scene at the very end of the credits responds to me being in a different personal moment than the characters. I really wanted to explore my feelings about it and so I wrote about them finding each other again after some time passes. It was also something I wrote after quite the hiatus so I took it as something I could write about without focusing too much on the why.

5: Come to me

Ahh, SuperCorp Xd I remember this one actually. A friend of mine and I were talking about descriptions, and she mentioned quite off-handedly how she wanted a fic in where Kara’s back was described. I complied… more or less.

Fun tidbit, despite the big volume of my work is obviously set in ouat there’s only 1 SQ fic there as you can see, the others are either SuperCorp or the random one shots I created for Wonderwoman/Lara Croft and The half of it. *sighs in deep thought* I’m also not going to look too much into how almost all of the fics were posted and written back in 2017. Nope, not at all.

*Small voice screaming you peaked in 2017 and everything else is garbage jumps back and forth*

5. Do you respond to comments? Why/why not?

I tend to always respond, yup. I truly value comments. I might have gone for spells of time in where I didn’t have the mental capacity to check in old fics because I truly didn’t know what to answer but I treasure every single comment and you all who comment know that I can start to ramble in the answers xd -sorry about that- I really really REALLY love interaction.

6. A fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending:

Ok, Nara, come on, this one is a catch for me. I’ve written angst in far too many fics to remember the angstiest one :P I have the most recent one, though, that is the easy one to think about: Goodbye.Written for @delirious-comfort. I’m just going to say “Kisses with their last dying breath” as an idea of what awaits inside but I’ve written about death and loss and angst quite a lot. There were some I wrote back to SQ with Regina needing to kill Emma during the Dark Swan arc that, to this day, I still love and some others in where Regina is the one that dies, again and again, trapped by magic while Emma watches. I have the loss in mental destruction form and… I REALLY like my angst y’know xd

7. Do you write crossovers?

Not counting Lara and Wonder Woman not really! I think it comes from the fact that I loooove worldbuilding as a whole and some pairings would require all my focus into making the world perfect which in turn would make me self conscious on the OOCness of it all.

8. Ever received hate on a fic?

*snorts* I’ve received hate due to the pairing I’ve written about, how I’ve written about it, the amount I’ve written, how slow or quick I can be, the usage of some tropes, the lack of usage of those same tropes… Let’s just go with: yuuuup.

9. Do you write smut?

I’ve written smut, yeah! But I can already see the pointed looks of some so let’s elaborate Xd I write smut when asked and sometimes when not asked but there’s a part of me I like to call a terrible tease that prefers writing the beginning of a scene, taunt it, focus on what happens before the sex scene per se as I find it more enjoyable to write. The process of escalation is always the best for me to see what can I do it by using both dialogue and descriptors tbh, so I tend to tease more than show.

9. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

A few weeks ago I’d have said: Maybe(?) But trying to follow the trail of some other fics that had been stolen from some friends -I think it was me trying to find more about the page that stole something from your Nara!- I found some pages in where my fics had been reposted. In some it was stated that the person posting the fic wasn’t the author but I had never been contacted in order to see if I’d say yes to such a thing and in some others the page was locked up but I could still see someone was pretending to be the author. I did the thing and got some of those down.

Pointed note: Ask me if you want to post or translate or anything. I will look into you and answer you if you seem honest about the thing. But despite every joke and self-deprecating comment those 500 and then some fics represent MY time so very kindly I say fuck off to those who wish to steal from me and if I catch you… you don’t really want to see me angry, trust me.

10. Ever had a fic translated?

I’ve given permission to some, yeah, but never heard it back from them so I’m guessing it didn’t stick.

12. Have you ever co-written a fic?

I’ve written series alongside other authors as @stregaomega for example. And some others that are unpublished -looking at you @carsonnieve - I’ve also done collabs… but fics co-written in the sense of two authors same chapters I don’t have anything posted I’m afraid :P

13. All-time favourite ship?

*snorts*, I guess the obvious answer is SQ uh? And I do think they were the ones that allowed me to read and write SO much. The one I feel more strongly about, however, is Bering and Wells from Warehouse 13.

14. WIP you want to finish, but don’t think you ever will?

All of them counts as a valid answer? But if I only could finish one that would be Arcadia. With A forgotten Promise second and the one I did as an Assassins Creed AU third. (I don’t remember the name so there’s no link, sorry xd)

15. Writing strengths?

Uhhhh, you REALLY want me to say that? I don’t fucking know!! To me everything I write is garbage. I always try to go for the feelings so I guess. Dunno xd I’ve been told I’m good at worldbuilding and to be honest is what I enjoy the most.

16. Writing weaknesses?

Everything Xd Pacing? What I hate the most sometimes is dialogue, I would count it as a weakness but I’m always far too focused on description rather than dialogue. I don’t think it’s a bad thing per se but it’s something that I don’t do as much.

17. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in a fic?

I’m conflicted. Always. Majorly because I think that having bilingual characters in fanfiction is portrayed and expected in a way that I don’t feel it’s honest with how bilingual people -us- talk. So if I go by what I know I do I think it’s not what readers hope to see when it comes to that and if I go for how canonically is hoped to be found I don’t think it’s logical. But that’s me and my overthinking Xd If I have the option I like to do it.

18. First fandom you ever wrote for?

Belice! Or Bella/Alice. Worst first fic ever but oh, well, I’m always saying that :P

19. What’s your fav fic you’ve written so far?

Uhh… Don’t make me do this XD Agh, I don’t know. I’ve always been very vocal about Metallic Ink because I let myself enjoy the process of creating a magic system almost out of zero and that was fun. Despite hating some of the writing process and that I’d do it differently now I think I’m going to stick with that answer. Or anything that had any steampunk-based undertone. To be honest I like more thinking of concepts, I had one in where Emma was a thief and it involved the robbery of a ring that was Regina’s one way ticket to freedom I then later repurposed that I adored thinking about so let’s go with…. Yeah, I love having the option of changing things up a little and focus on how characters would fit in different aesthetics for this one Xd

ok so to address the anons ive been getting here is kind of where it started,please don't reblog this and once again if you know who this is don't go after them,theyre are known for being shitty but i also dont want them swamped with hate either. i dont want drama i just want this to be over with i want them to just forget about me

so the first thing they are referring to is THIS post i made talking about things that bothered me with japanese troll and i was really heated when writting that post

they would always come to me to talk about other peoples trolls with japanese themes and wanted to constantly get trolls cancelled for having tat sort of influence which they would constantly label as appropriation which im saying right now it is not

now i got pretty sauced at this point as i have always been open with them about my struggles with being mixed and it effected me pretty bad growing up im Japanese Brazilian and took after my father but i grew up in japan so looking foreign in school was not great i got called a lot of stuff which led to me completly disowning the fact i was japanese till i was 17 pretty much becuse not looking japanese caused me a lot of grief

and heres where i was probably a little mean but let me explain. before this point i thought of this person as a friend cus it had been 2 years and they hadnt done anything truly bad so i had trusted them with some private information and this is when i found out during these 2 years this person had been already saying shit about me behind my back and telling people no to come to me for anything keep in mind we where friends during that.this person also had a history of taking my struggles and turning it into theirs. i lost my birth parents they're dead,i was fetishized at 15,i struggled with being mixed in a less then accepting country,my family disowned me for being mixed from my Brazilian dad and 9 out of 10 suddenly they had that problem to when never before did they mention it also they lied about a lot of little things to and constantly change theyre race. the small mention of my dad being brazillian and black then suddenly theyre parent was mixed black to??

im Japanese Brazilian i was adopted at 15ish by family friends who are Spanish which is why i live in Canada i have always been open about this and they knew that . also they say they where born in japan in a town that doesnt even have a maternity ward and they cant speak or understand any japanese in voice chat they never understood me if i said something in japanese and when it comes to them making sentences in my language theres always mistakes and its very poorly written and many times its just base level anime phrases. they also knew my biggest insecurity is my eyes which i have never edited (only my nose if im honest and i stopped doing that in 2017) this is me and this is also the picture they try to use to say i edit but neither of these are edited

also me liking anime and collecting it means im not japanese to them? i also havent been back to japan since 2016 17 ish and when i have gone after that is was only for a few days to take care of things . they constantly share pictures of me without permission and theyre pictures that have been deleted that they keep, they know i dont have much of my childhood pictures as they have literally seen me crying over how much stuff i left behind.they got to a point where the only time they would talk to me was to talk about japanese things i have never met somone so obsessed with Japanese culture who also claims to be Japanese but cant speak it,they never even cared about out friendship they just liked the fact i was japanese then went up on the defence when i said they where acting sus. they're selfish and childish

19 - Natan in 2007. The hat gives me a toilet paper, candy floss kind of vibe. The jacket is way too informal for the occasion when compared to the dress, which I think is more of an older lady kind of dress. And her handbag appears to be a loofah

18 - Jan Taminiau in 2010. Like the hat. The beading looks like it’s for a dress you’d buy on Amazon and the weird fit doesn’t help

17 - Natan in 2005. If you look at close ups that jacket looks like suede. For the opening of parliament, with a formal dress. I know orange is the colour of the Netherlands but these weird, mishmashed tones of orange are not my favourite as it doesn’t look contrasting enough to be deliberate

16 - Jan Taminiau in 2011. The dress is ok. I like the sheerness to parts of it and the colour is interesting but that hat has no business being next to that gown

15 - Bernito Fernández in 2004. Maxima really suits big hats best and this fascinator look stuck on. The dress itself is quite nice but just being all in one fabric it looks heavy

14 - Natan in 2002. Red looks gorgeous on her. The fascinator is very early 2000s and I don’t love the fluted hem but it feels like there’s a flavour of her Argentinian heritage here which is fun as this was her first time

13- Claes Iversen in 2016. I love the hat. The colours are quintessential Maxima and it’s very regal but it’s a bit stiff and it doesn’t excite me, it’s predictable

12 - Claes Iversen in 2020. On anyone else this would probably be bottom of the list but Maxima just has such confidence that it somehow works. It also gives me a bit of a Latin flavour with the ruffles and the headpiece is gorgeous. But yellow is rarely my favourite colour and there were looks I liked more

11 - Herbert Rouwers in 2008. I am still not sure if this should be 11th or 12th. I love a hat with well placed flowers and I think the dress looks really effortless but it’s a bit unpolished compared to some of her later looks

10 - Jan Taminiau in 2013. The hat is gorgeous with the dress, the gold is very regal and it all works perfectly worn the colours in the sash to bring out the blue but again it’s just a little bit predictable

9. Natan in 2012. I love the colour on her and with the sash and the hat is divine, so elegant. But it’s maybe just a bit too simple

8. Natan in 2017. I love this style of hat as it’s still big, which suits her, but is away from the face. I honestly don’t have much to say about this dress which is why it’s middle of the pack. It’s nice but bleh

7. Luisa Beccaria in 2018. I really like the hat, the flowers are well placed and the pinky tones work with her hair and skin tone. I love the shades in the dress so you can’t work out exactly what colour it is. But the bodice doesn’t look like it fits right, possibly because of the fabric

6. Jan Taminiau in 2009. I shouldn’t like this dress because the beading is clumped around the middle but I just do? It’s impactful but still simple. I like a net headpiece but I do prefer her in hats

5. Valentino in 2014. I love the hat at the back of the head, red is gorgeous on her and I think having the whole thing in this shade from hat to gloves makes what could be a boring dress way more impactful

4. Jan Taminiau in 2015. I think this is a very elegant dress but I particularly love how she accessorised it. The choice of the purple brings out the flowers in the dress and it all becomes very romantic. There’s some seaming issues in the bodice that can’t go unnoticed

3. Natan in 2003. This is so adorable. She was pregnant and I think this is comfortable without being dull. It’s a dress that would work in lots of time periods and on lots of women. I love the shades of pink as it seems deliberate rather than a hodge podge. And a pillbox hat is the height of elegance when done correctly as this is

2. Natan in 2006. This dress perfectly hits the mark for Prinsjesdag. It’s a weird occasion - hats with ball gowns and sashes - but the combination of the skirt and jacket captures that midway between day and evening. I love the floral headpiece too, it’s big but not overwhelming

1. Jan Taminiau in 2019. It had to be. This oxblood colour is my favourite colour ever. The leather gloves with that shade are just such a powerful combo to me. I love anything cape like - it’s my kryptonite - and the beading on this makes it more impactful for the occasion. The hat doesn’t look fantastic in this pic but in others it’s just the right size for her.

OK, let's talk about it. I was kinda neutral to everyone in the Loser club except Richie for a year or more. Then while being in fandom I fell in love with these guys like with everyone of 'em concluding Bill. Let's be honest, I saw It 2017 only bc of James McAvoy in the second chapter and I found it boring. And then the second part I found more like a comedy than horror. I didn't like films that time but I liked characters (Richie). Some weeks ago I rewathed both It 2017 and It 2019 and second one is still too long and a comedy but first I found interesting

So remake is great at least on the second time watching and that's enough

And, damn, he's so funny like... Yeah, I'd spend my last minutes with him he's great, that would be the most hilarious death I could ever get

January 16, 2021: Kingsman: The Secret Service (Epilogue)

Millar and Vaughn set out to make a fun spy story. And goddamn if they didn’t succeed! This movie was a HELL of a lot of fun to watch, and I honestly had a really good time with it. It’s a fun little pastiche of spy movies and the genre as a whole, and it takes itself just the right amount of seriously, while allowing a little over-the-top bombast. A wonderful balance.

Recap

Cast and Acting

Taron Edgerton, Colin Firth, Michael Caine, Mark Strong, and Samuel L. Jackson. YES. That’s all I have to say. Well, maybe not all. Every single one of them do extremely well with what they’re given, especially Edgerton and Jackson. Edgerton plays the troubled kid with potential trope VERY well, and manages to be an extremely likeable character all throughout. And Jackson! I didn’t talk about him much, but he does a very interesting turn as the genius inventor and megalomaniac, Richmond Valentine. Most specifically, I actually mostly lost the fact that I was watching Samuel L. Jackson the whole time! Mostly. I’ll be honest, I don’t believe he was the perfect cast for this particular part, but I also believe that he did it VERY well.

Another person I straight up didn’t mention was Mark Strong as Merlin. I’ve seen him play so many villains over the years, that I legitimately thought he was going to be the traitor. But no, he was instead the major support, and also one of the most likeable of the Kingsmen. Didn’t give him his due, but I do quite like him, rest assured.

Anyway, the cast overall was great! 9/10 for this category.

Plot and Writing

Despite the fact that this movie is based off of a comic book, the final screenplay was actually written by Vaughn and Jane Goldman. Goldman’s a long-time writing partner of Vaughn, having co-written the screenplays for this, X-Men: First Class, Kick-Ass, and Stardust. That said, the wrote the script for Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. Oof. But we’re going to ignore that, because this movie’s writing is great and fun! While I can’t claim that it’s the greatest written script in the world, it is still a vey-well written movie, that I can’t really find any problems with. So, 9/10 for that!

Directing and Action

RAD. AS. SHIT. 10/10. Seriously, I have nothing else to say. The fight scenes may not be as well-choreographed as wuxia, but they were a HELL of a lot of fun to watch. Directing, too, is awesome, and the cinematography is brilliant; thanks, George Richmond!

Production Design

The costumes in this movie are good! Really, it’s Eggsy’s pre-Kingsman costumes that stand out the most, thanks no doubt to H. Huntsman, a store who provided the clothes. But that said...suits are suits. Yeah. Outside of the fact that they’re extremely nice suits, the movie kind of loses its character once they’re the only wardrobe for our heroes. Not the best, but I do like Eggsy’s outfits. That’s an 8/10 for me!

Music and Editing

The music is, once again, great. I feel like I need to be more insightful about this category, but it’s another one that I...might buy the soundtrack for. Don’t get me wrong, Gary Barlow does a fantastic job, and it’s great for the movie itself. Some tracks I’d definitely buy, or use as backing for an RPG or some such. And I will say, it’s VERY MUCH spy-movie music. While it isn’t James Bond, it definitely sounds like it. Which, yeah, big credit there. As for the rest of the editing and effects...firework head explosions. That is all. 8/10 here!

This movie was a LOT of fun to watch, and I genuinely want to watch the sequel, as well as the prequel due to come out this year!

OK, how about one more spy movie? But let’s go for the United States, and some less traditionally known as a spy movie. And hey, how about more recent...and I dunno...a female protagonist this time?

January 17, 2021: Atomic Blonde (2017)

you know, i’ve always seen seokjin as someone who would listen to their body and rest when needed, but a clip i’ve come across recently is making me feel differently...

so in 2017 there was a fansign in which jin was struggling badly with the flu (a reason why i’ve never posted about it is because he was really really sick, it just hurt my heart to see him so weak). and according to the people that were there, he had to go to the hospital (or he just left for a bit) due to a spike in his fever. and some people say that he even went back to the fansign after he got his fever under control.

but despite that, he put on a smile for the fans the entire time. you can find fancams of the event, and even though he looked happy his eyes were glassy, he could barely keep them open, and he was coughing. this was also around the time of the v-live where jimin said “seokjin is sick. ok? it’s okay. don’t worry.” i’m pretty sure it was dated the exact same day (9/30/17).

so ever since that i’ve just been wondering, what kind of sickie is jin? i believe this is why it is so incredibly hard to write for him. he’s a hard person to read.

edit: i’m looking at the videos again and he wasn’t exactly hiding it too too much, he had a box of tissues and the members did talk about him having a cold, + he was blowing his nose a lot. but the part that gets me is he still did the event. and he still tried to make it look like everything was okay. he came out at the end to do the group photo, smiling and everything, although he was holding onto hobi and it looked like he was going to fall over any second😕. hm, i’m just conflicted lol.
