i don't outline or edit or re-read any of my fanfic. i just type it and then eyeball it for typos and then post it. i COULD outline and such to really make the narrative nice and tight, but i don't find it very fun to do (for fanfic) and this is like, my relaxing wind down hobby. i just wanna have fun haha. the only reason my fics like, make sense, is because i write at least one ending scene first thing and always aim for that, and also i write out of order so i kinda know the route of the story

“I CANT BELIEVE I FORGOT! I SWEAR I WROTE IT ON MY PHONE!!” Koi panicked, running his hand through his fluffy hair.

“well I mean, shouldn’t you know this kind of stuff? Since ur Mugs boyfri-“

“SHSHSH!!” He put a firm grip on bendys shoulders.

“Keep your voice down, dude!”

“Ok, ok! Jeez! js let go of me, please.”

Koi Immediately retracted his hands away. his face looked strained, as his body shook ever so slightly. He had no idea what to get his partner for his birthday. Which was today.

clearly, he wasn’t great at hiding it either. Because as soon as bendy got a look at him, he knew immediately.

“Look, if you’re so worried on what to get him. Why not ask cup?”

Bendy suggested

“HE’LL JUST LAUGH AT ME! OR GET MAD AT ME!!” Sweat was pouring down his face, making him look like he just got out of a pool.

“Okay, okay!! Fine!! just, chill. I’ll ask him for ya-“ He hopped of the cot, walking out of the tent. As koi watched in horror, he lays on his sleeping bag, getting lost in his thoughts.

As he stared as the ceiling of the tent. He saw an orange spark. Immediately, he blinked. And the spark was gone.

Mikey groans, laying flat on the couch. His whole head pounding with pain.

His mouth throbbed, his teeth hurt, and his tongue was sore. All because of those stupid braces.

he couldn’t even eat anything! That’s how bad his mouth hurt. He still didn’t understand why he needed braces in the first place. His teeth looked okay to him, anyway.

He wanted to just..scream and cry. But his eyes were dry, and his voice was weak. He had no idea how to even feel right now.

“you okay, Angie?” Leo asked, slowly leaning on his baby brother.

..riiiight, his brothers came home early to “comfort him”

“No, my mouth hurts like shit.”

He said, slumping even further in his sweater.

“Leo, ur not making it better.” Donnie commented, smirking ever so slightly at his phone.

Leo gave him an annoyed glare, before turning his attention back to Mikey.

they all go silent, js watching another Jupiter Jim movie. When suddenly..

“ughhhh..” The strange creature groaned, starling nearly everyone.

OK SO LIKE I’ve been thinking about random crossovers of the father figures in lbl and it got me thinking about Linebeck and like… I know that he’s a coward but it seems like he gets some guts after PH, and he also grows more adventurous as we see in ST with Linebeck III. But I like to think that he doesn’t wield a sword, and people think that he just can’t do it, he doesn’t know how to fight. But in reality he REFUSES to pick up a sword cuz he has some sick moves from the events of bellumbeck and it reminds him too much of being possessed by Bellum. And his back is so fricked up that he gets terrible phantom pains feeling like Bellum is there controlling him and fighting with a sword really triggers that and like look at this

And this is more so about wind waker but after killing gagnonfrf in WW I imagine that Link is terrified of killing another person. Monsters are fine but Ganondorf was like, a person. And that traumatized him,!:9 s naturally fighting bellumbeck scared him cuz not only is that someone he cares about (and a father figure (which he keeps losing father figures)) but it’s also a human bei mg and he doesn’t want to hurt or kill a human being again so he like freaks out over that. They’re BOTH traumatized!

neutral ending: he gets like. a chopin biopic theme outfit (or even another composer. monteverdi maybe if they want to hammer in the references to orfeo or whatever). playing it safe but thats fine tbh. you want me to suffer (affectionate) ending: its amadeus the movie and idk if ricky would be mozboi or sal but either way im screaming and crying on the ground. bad ending: its none of these options and its something predictable/boring/shipping related and im like. angery face. expanded galaxy brain it will not happen but i can hope: any of my shitpost rickys. music man ricky. froderick fronkensteen ricky. beet from batea ricky. ricky wearing a nightgown and nothing else absolutely losing it ricky (that being said i have no idea but a jekyll and hyde ricky would be a bit goated)

-and for the actual livestream stuff. the three new characters are neat. i think im more attached to them than other ones- memory and adaemil were very lore heavy, lily and friends were fine but i dont feel so invested (esp when operas backstory was just a more marketable rehash of antonios -angry face emoji- ). i like the gambler lady. shes fancy yes but shes got an air of like. elegance and politeness i dont get from other characters in the series. idk i just think shes pretty and shes got them gantsby vibes -pacha hand-. goatman seems nice, like bane or burk or someone. knight seems like a cool guy or could be just the "polite guy villified for plot" and i guess that means either way ill prolly like him -le shrug-. that being said i hope hes well written and isnt a character i wont end up liking. itd be cool if he and ricky can be bros. he gives me those vibes. also gambler lady and antonio being gambling buds would be so cute. the friend he deserves. everyone can be buds with goat man bc he seems nice too.

-not so interested in the crossovers/events besides the holmes one which is big interest omg. the new lady seems like shed be a cool irene adler if shes added. detective as holmes pls. -sept the first school au hunter gets revealed. im like :| bc this series hasnt had any faves yet but it also seems mostly harmless and gives less popular characters skins occasionally so tbh im fine w it. itll prolly be a popular hunter and not my boi antonio but whatever. -shrug emoji-

Thanks so much for the clarification, I really appreciate it! I think I may have misread your original intent there thanks to past experience biasing me and for that I apologize.

In my experience whenever someone brings up "Tai read to the girls in that cartoon" its used to support their claims of: Yang wasn't actually parentified, she wasn't actually neglected, it was a few weeks at most, she's just being dramatic, ETC.

I know that isn't what you were doing, but I think the mental association colored my notes, but hey it got this fantastic breakdown so I can't complain!

Because yes I can actually one hundred percent see this and have occasionally explored this read on Tai in some private analysis and fanfic chats with friends. Tai isn't strictly better, or at least he's not recovered, so much as he is in a state of... I can't think of the word, but cognitive immobility.

He's "good enough" to go to work or socialize superficially, and in that same vein he can superficially play the role of a father. But as you outline it is extremely superficial and its largely directed at the easier child he doesn't have as complicated a relationship with.

Meanwhile Yang is still left to do all the difficult and painful tasks of parenting, with only minimal crossover between her & Tai's spheres.

Hence why, as you say, when Ruby woke up post volume 3 she didn't go to Tai for advice or guidance but Yang. Yang was the person she was surprised didn't have answers or resolve for her because she always has before. Tai wasn't even an option for a serious conversation, or source of comfort for something so heavy.

Aside, but I also think Yang's vulnerability here played into Ruby's later issues. Like she always had to be "OK" but as the series went on more event piled up that made it harder for her to talk about what was bothering her:

She's in her mothers shadow, the leader, Ozpin gave terrible advice, Yang admires her as a Huntress, Yang could no longer parent her & even when she "recovered" was fragile in a way Yang never had been before. Ruby's the one who pushed through the Apathy and the one people keep looking to for inspiration and ideas to move forward, ETC.

But I digress, I agree he does love them and have a lot of posts noting that the love is there but definitely doesn't compensate for the neglect. But yeah I know from experience abuse needn't be malicious or even intentional to be damaging.

Also great point on how his dismissive attitude towards trauma would only make him recovering harder, because he doesn't want there to be a problem so he just ignores it. Suffice to say, my therapist said that strategy doesn't work for issues like this, it just keeps you in that state.

Also very true on how this changes nothing for Yang and even for Ruby its more like painkillers for a broken bone, and how this was the new normal. With Ruby not knowing its abnormal and Tai leaning into it cos hey its fine right and he lacks the energy or where with all to try and do more.

Oh and agreed on Qrow's unreliable help, like both Yang & Ruby are used to him staggering in drunk and needing to be cared for that V5 Ruby treats it as entirely normal. Plus the shared look about in V6 before noting that its worse than usual, but given V5 that's not saying much.

#ymmv of course #mainly it’s that v2-3 ruby reads to me as kinda like #it hasn’t clicked yet that this is not normal. she’s 15 and giddy about a care package from dad!#and then she’s like at home for several months with her dad and her sister who just lost an arm and #seeing the difference between tai sitting by her bedside and getting choked up that she’s ok vs how he is with yang #and THEN she doesn’t bother saying goodbye to to him when she leaves. lmao

Also excellent insights regarding the post V3 era and how it contrasts V1 & V2. Cos yeah, Ruby very much treats Tai as an afterthought at this stages. She discusses her plan with Yang, she sends Yang letters, she as established says Yang is the one who raised her. Low key it really does kind of feel like she could have realized only then that her home life was way more screwed up than she realized.

Also yes on how Tai 100% seems to preference Ruby in that scenario too, which wouldn't have improved her views on him while Yang seems to accept it as the norm that Ruby is the top priority.

i mean that he favors ruby

to be more specific, yang has been co-parenting her two-years-younger sister with her dad since she was about five, when tai evidently left them home alone on a regular basis. now i’m not in the camp that tai did not do any parenting at all or that yang raised ruby completely by herself—i don’t think the text supports that:

ruby clearly does see tai as her dad, and relates to him that way

“ugh, you sound like dad!” in particular illustrates both ruby’s fairly normal parent-child relationship with tai and yang’s quasi-parental role in her life

both yang (per the text) and tai (in the animated fairytale series) read bedtime stories, although ruby’s recollection suggests that it was yang reading to her more often than tai reading to both of them

—but i do think it’s clear that tai leaned on yang a lot more than he should have. yang remembers him “shutting down” after summer left and that she had to be the one to “pick up the pieces,” ruby expressly thinks of yang as the one who raised her, there’s literally a scene in ice queendom where tai and yang talk about parenting ruby. like:

TAI: It’s gonna be a lot harder to go out as a family after you’re gone. YANG: I really hope Ruby will be okay without me around. She tends to get caught up in her own little world sometimes, you know? TAI: A little independence will do her good! I love that you two support each other, but she can’t rely on you for everything, you know? YANG: I know, I know, you’re right, Dad.

<- that’s not a parent-child conversation.

innately when you have a dynamic where the elder sibling is co-parenting the younger, the younger sibling is being favored. that comes with the territory.

but there’s also the additional factor of both ruby and yang being so strongly identified with their mothers—to the point that their individuality is elided—and summer being up on this pedestal as both the Perfect Huntress and the Good Mother in contrast to raven being the skeleton in the family closet until yang reached legal adulthood. and then when tai finally does start talking about raven, he more or less presents raven to yang as a cautionary tale: i see so much of her in you and that’s great but watch out because her flaws tore our team and family apart.

it’s never said in so many words but that level of comparison and identification with their mothers, when one is the Noble Heroic Paragon and the other is a Complicated Woman Who Ruined Our Family… that. uh. to put it gently, that will trickle down into the treatment of the children.

and between how tai treats yang in v4 and ruby’s summer-identity-crisis in v9, it’s pretty fucking clear that both girls felt that in different ways—ruby’s whole sense of self is fucked because she can’t separate herself from the Idea of Summer Rose, whereas tai is really harshly critical of yang specifically because he projects his ideas about raven onto her, to the point that yang feels the need to go “sorry i remind you of her.”

it goes without saying that none of this was good for ruby either—it just hurt her in different, more insidious ways. but there’s like. this pattern. of yang being given adultlike responsibilities way too young and being held to harsher standards because tai can’t or won’t separate her from raven

They shared a laugh as she crossed the kitchen to give his cheek a good morning (more like early afternoon) kiss. "Well I certainly don't mind our increase in activities but I'm glad you're spending time with him."

"It's getting harder to not mention anything to him. It's been a month, we've got these monsters appearing, we know it's all tied together and Leo still hasn't told Raph anything. Most of the time I have to avoid him so I don't accidently spill the beans. How long should I give him?"

"Baby, it took a year for you to be willing to listen. Leo just needs some time. He's afraid it may be the last conversation he ever has with him. I know how that feels."

Mikey grunted. "I'm still sorry about that."

Shadow wrapped her arm around his and tugged him into the living room. "Call him later and tell him it needs to be sooner rather than later, but for now, you stink. You need a shower and probably a nap."

Relenting but not letting her go, they both disappeared into the shower. If she noticed how he was trying a little harder than usual to make her giggle she didn't say anything.

While they enjoyed their playful bathing, his mind played back the events of the night over and over in his mind.

Manhattan could be a beautiful place, especially when seen in the early morning hours of the morning from the highest rooftops. It was in the alleys, where he using the darkness to head home, that were rarely full of anything but things that ought to stay hidden. Drugs, violence, sex. Today, it was something entirely different, and very unexpected.

"I've got something for you. If you want it."

Michelangelo didn't need to turn around and peer into the shadows to know who was talking.

"You tell me. Do I?"

"Probably not. But we both know that really doesn't matter."

He sighed heavily, then turned to face his visitor.

"How's Shadow?" his twin asked. Older. More worn down. But he wasn't filed with grief. Not exactly.

"Yours not well?"

The other him twitched but didn't reply right away. "She's ok, all things considered."

Mikey couldn't imagine what worse things could have been thrown their way to make this other version of himself so. . . not sad, but he'd lost something. He looked like Mikey felt sometimes. His eyes fell on a broad scar across his right neck and shoulder. "This Shadow is good. Things are good. You're more like me than any others I've come across. It's unsettling. Cursed?"

He nodded.

"Figure it out?"

He shook his head. "Not exactly. Took care of it well enough though."

"Brothers?"

"All alive. Everyone's alive and well. Mostly."

Mikey narrowed his eyes at his mirrored image. "Donovan?"

A small but genuine smile crossed the other's face. "Great kid. Doing fine."

Mikey nodded this time. "World not in danger. Everyone's alive. Things can't be too bad."

"It's not bad at all. Look, I know you know Shadow is capable of incredible things. Things that could change the world. And beyond. I know you won't admit it but her potential vastly outweighs anyone we've faced before."

Mikey froze at the phrasing and waited for more.

"Anyone wrapped up in our lives is capable of amazing things. They have to be. But if she's in a position where . . . to, well . . . you know. She'll do anything. Literally."

"What happened?"

"Doesn't matter but I really hope you don't have to go through it. I just wanted to be the one to bring you this. And to tell you."

Mikey took a large hard drive from the older, weathered version of himself. He looked down at the cold metal weighing down his hands, then back up at him. "Tell me what?"

"Hold the hell onto that woman. In every way imaginable."

"I plan to."

"I know. But even more than you do now. She's so strong, but she needs you. And you really, really, need her."

It wasn't anything he didn't think about every day.

"But you both need to know when enough is enough. That need can get ugly."

Mikey let out a sharp breath. "I know." Mikey practically whispered. He knew exactly what that meant.

His older self turned to leave.

"Hey?"

"Hmm?"

"At least tell me if you're both okay. Still married? Whatever happened, were you able to get through it? Together?"

He stiffened. "Sometimes the solution and the problem are the same thing and that is probably the hardest lesson I've ever had to learn, but yeah. Still madly in love. Still married. Love conquers all and all that, right?"

Mikey frowned, deciding maybe he didn't want to know any details. "Good." It seemed irresponsible to not ask about the curse's outcome or how to beat it without anyone dying from it, but he also knew if there was anything important to say his counterpart would say it. "How long have you been with her?"

"Depends on how you look at it. Actually together? About 5 years give or take. Time wise, you could say more like 15. It's hard really, to know for sure."

Mikey sucked in a deep breath. He knew what that meant too. He held up the drive. "What is this?"

"I can't even begin to explain that. Just give it to Shadow. Or Don someday. Maybe just warn them that this information is a little mind blowing. And maybe think about just destroying it for your own good. But that is what she is capable of. She paid a very heavy price for it. It also cannot end up in the wrong hands or it's over for all of us."

Mikey caught the drop in his tone when he mentioned it was Shadow's work. "Dude, you need to lighten up."

"I know you tell yourself that a hundred times a day but there are levels of trauma that you can't come back from."

"I'm aware and you know I am, but your face is all stuck looking like you haven't slept in a week 8 times in a row. That's got to be ruining your reputation."

His older self relaxed in understanding and grinned. "Not in the bedroom and we know that's what really counts."

The two of them looked each other up and down for a split second before they both burst into mirrored hearty laughs.

"Oh if only we had more time, right? This could get really fun."

"Yeah, if only."

Mikey gave his older self a smile. "You are still a handsome devil. Even though you got old."

Mikey stared into the open space before him. He could see a vague outline as his eyes adjusted that sharpened into an older, very different looking Shadow. Her hair was much shorter, greying, and its still healthy bounce didn't match the years of clearly-not-so-good-times that made her skin seem to hang heavier over her cheekbones and shoulders. Their eyes met only for a moment before his other self stepped in front of him to block his view of her. He didn't need to ask why. It was haunting.

"Don't worry." he said, meeting his eyes with a deep understanding. "She's ok. I'm sorry for bringing that to you."

Mikey nodded slightly and looked at the drive again. "What is this going to do to her if she figures it out? What if she won't tell me?"

He looked up and the doorway was gone and he was alone. The corners of his mouth anchored downward as he turned the drive over in his hands, looking for a connection. Finding one that looked like something he could use, he headed back to the lair instead of home. He might not be a genius by any stretch of the imagination, but if it would spare Shadow in any way, he'd try to understand it first, even if it took him years. An extra hour in the morning to take a first glance at it wasn't going to change anything.

So since I'm very bad at remembering my ideas, I'm gonna throw this out there and hope one day I'm like "WAIT didn't I have an idea for a fic??? What was it???" And I will find it on my tumblr.

It's about Danny Phantom, obviously.

There are actually two of them in here so:

The easiest one: Jack and Maddie are not stupid. I mean they're scientists, the use the scientific method. One of the things about the scientific method is that if you do a bunch of tests, based on an hypothesis and only one of them comes out disproving it, then your hypothesis is incorrect.

Phantom has disproved basically all of their hypothesis.

So, next thing to do? Create a new one. Do new tests. They take Jazz's suggestion and try and see if the ghosts of Amity are actually conscious. Because obviously they're sentient, but are they like animals? Or are they like robots with artificial intelligence?

Or even better yet, are they like humans?

They grab Phantom's attention and ask him if he would cooperate for this test. A simple Turing test. Obviously they're still wary because of everything that happened with him, and do the test with witnesses to keep both Phantom's and their minds at ease.

He passed the test. With flying colors.

They're shocked and ask him if he knew peaceful ghosts that would be willing to take the test (because, y'know. Scientific method. Need to try over and over again). Phantom would have to explain that not all ghosts are as human-like as him (as, first of all, he's a halfa, but he doesn't say that. And second, lots of them are blobs or animal-like ghosts), but cue his parents meeting Jhonny and Kitty (cause I like the idea that they have a truce with Phantom and that going out of the zone helps them with their couple problems), as well as Shadow (example of a less human-like ghost). Then Sidney, Dora, the Fright Knight (cause king ghost Danny ftw) and Frostbite.

They all pass, more or less. Some, like Dora, the light and Sidney, where given away by their choice of word, but other than that all of them passed the test.

OK SO MORE COMPLEX ONE:

I love crossovers. I love finding ways of putting the two universes together, of making them work with each other, adapting the rules so that they apply to both. (With Danny Phantom it's also really cool to just... Make him travel the multiverse. He doesn't adhere to the rules of where he goes to, so it's always hilarious. But we're not here for that now).

One of the best ones to do this with is My Hero Academia. Whenever a show has someone with powers I end up asking myself "how should that work in the world of my hero?" And start trying to incorporate it in the lore.

So, first thing first, we're getting rid of the canon story of my hero. Completely unrelated to the show. This takes place decades in the past, when the first people where developing quirks (so if I wanted to write something with this and actually use my hero characters, I'd make it so that they where hit with a time traveling quirk or that Clockwork was somehow involved).

The Fenton's hatred for ghosts? Make it discrimination against the people who have quirks.

Danny being half-ghost? His quirk's fault. He calls it Ghost, for simplicity, it allows him to come back as a sort of ghost-like creature after he dies. Somehow, one day, he doesn't die completely so his body fixes it the only way it know how. Making him partially ghost.

Obviously that would mean that all the ghosts he fights aren't ghosts anymore. They're villains with quirks, and their powers would be based on what they can do on the show, minus the basic intangibility, invisibility and flight.

Obviously only Sam and Tucker would know he was Phantom and he had a quirk, he's also kinda the only one in town with one. People would be a little racist against quirk havers, but the kids, like in the show, come around to it. And actually start loving Phantom and thinking of him as a hero.

How do I fit Vlad in all of this? Ehm ahhhh this is the one thing I didn't think about. Very basic, but could give him a power similar to Danny, were instead of a ghost, he becomes a vampire. But his quirk is caused by an accident in college, so it's artificial.

Why does Skulker (who doesn't have a quirk. He's just a guy in a suit) hunt Danny? He has a very unique quirk.

Does Dani exist? I mean. Yeah. Cloning is not so farfetched, especially with the existence of quirks.

Clockwork can control time, he involuntary does that being a child, then an adult then an old man thing. The Observants are people without quirks that keep him in check, an organization that made a pact with him to stay young forever or something in change of idk what. No idea what Clockwork would get out of it I won't lie. Money maybe? Or somehow they found a way of keeping him there against his will?

Walker (and I'll make a seperate post about this) is an ex guy in white. Yes they still exist, but they hunt quirk havers instead of paranormal stuff. Walker was kicked out because he actually has a quirk but lied about it. He's after his own kind in the show as well. I mean, he's a stickler to the rules, but he only ever seems to care when it's ghosts that brake them. Correct me if I'm wrong, but never has he punished a human. His quirk is making semi-sentient minions. They're not copies of himself. They're like clay humans with basic forms. They all look alike and have no special characteristics.

Frostbite is just... A yeti. With cryokenisis. It's a mutation type quirk.

Same goes for Wulf, he's just a humanoid wolf that can create teleportation portals. I can't think of a reason why he would only speak Esperanto though. It could be something similar to Five from umbrella academy. He accidentally got stuck in the 1600 as a kid and managed to come back only relatively recently.

I feel like all the other ghosts have obvious powers.

Cujo can become ginormous,

Technus can control technology,

Dora and Aragon can become dragons,

Jhonny gives people bad luck and can control his shadow,

Kitty can make man disappear,

Ember can mind control using music,

Spectra can use people's negative emotions to stay young,

Bernard has shapeshifting,

Youngblood can't be seen by adults (side effect: can't grow old) and his sideckick has a variant of shapeshifting where he can only transform in animals. A definitive father figure),

Box ghost can control boxes,

Pandora can control the plagues of the world,

Desiré can make people's wishes come true,

Sidney can swap bodies with people,

Undergrowth can control plants,

Pariah Dark- I... Actually don't know...

Lunch Lady can control food,

Aaaanndddd no more come to mind.

I want to do something with this AU but I can't really think of an interesting story, other than "kids from 1A get misplaced in time and Danny has to help, discovering the existence of Clockwork and the Observants, whom he hates. So he tries to get Clockwork out of there with the other kid's help" but that's it, really.

I actually have a 3rd idea, but it basically works the same as the MHA one. Crossover with the X-Men.

Substitute quirk havers with mutants and quirks with mutations and you get the idea.

The plot would be more of a "Danny gets recruited by Xavier after the trauma of almost dying activated his mutation and goes to live at the mansion. This happens after the events of season 3, alla salted to make sense in the world of Marvel, but without Phantom planet. He makes friends there, since Sam and Tucker aren't with him and everything is fine and dandy and happy. Until it comes out that the Fentons actually contribute to the creation of the Sentinels, because they hate Phantom that much.

So Danny has to infiltrate his own family to get info on how the Sentinels work so they can destroy them, since his parents are still oblivious and they made it so that the Sentinels wouldn't attack Danny thinking that his accident just somehow make him register as a mutant on machinery" and that's it.

The Brave and The Valiant (732 kudos) - this fic is like my apology for all of the evil I have written over the years. Really sweet Sam Gamgee and Maedhros, and tbh half of the kudos are owed to then givenclarity for their fantastic bit of art accompanying this fic that sent the kudos count skyrocketing. 

Violent Delights (714 kudos) - did you read This Game We Play and/or An Evil Cradling and think, yes I need more of this in my life? Then this series of short fics is the one for you. Quick and dirty, for the most part, but gets the job done. 

Open Wounds (482 kudos) - my answer to Tolkien’s rather glossed over version of events of Maedhros’ recovery after Angband. You will learn about medicinal plants and shoulder anatomy, and you will experience Emotions.

Oh you’re going to put me on the spot with this one but the real answer is, kind of? If someone has left a long and detailed comment then I try my best to answer because real time and effort went into that. It’s like the Angst Olympics up in my fic catalogue but I guess This Game We Play takes it for having the angstiest ending in a fic that was not wholly about angst in the first place.

Not hate per se, more comments where I’m like ok you went out of your way to write to me about how you didn’t like some aspect of what I’d written, uhhh great what do you want me to do with that info exactly? Unless you’re a paying client then I will write whatever the f I feel like so your salty self can just simmer down. Nobody was forcing you to keep reading a la Clockwork-Orange-eyes-peeled-open style, so you were free to leave at any time before you worked yourself up into a lather... So all of that to say: I don’t have much time for the haters.

I started out with the Silm and just never really left. 

what’s your favorite fic you’ve written?

I love all of my children but I really like Sins of our Fathers - the worldbuilding I got to do throughout Eregion, Celebrimbor’s court, and the recipients of all of the Rings of Power were second to none in this fic, and it was so much fun to write. Also balancing an increasingly pissed off and manipulative Annatar with a sexually frustrated Celebrimbor desperately not trying to give into his Feanorian heritage was a delightful treat, and overall this fic does edge out the favourite spot for me.

84,430! Sooooo close to that 100k milestone I just need to get off my writing hiatus since I have a beefy one shot WIP and a couple kink-meme prompt fills started that will get me to the finish line!

On Ao3/as an adult, just Supernatural.

4) What are your top 5 fics by kudos?

Well Jung – This was my first and I’m still super surprised it took off so well considering all the head-hopping. I also hadn’t written fiction since high school so it’s pretty technically rough!

I Can’t Forget the Time and Place Where We Just Met – Who doesn’t love a good old-fashioned double amnesia fic! This was a SPN Masquerade fill and it was super fun to write!

Kiss the Cook – Another SPN Masquerade fill inspired by Dean in an apron in S15. Kitchen fucking is fun fucking!

Iodine and Stitches – 3/5 SPN Masquerade fills that I did fall 2020. Seriously such a fun event to participate in I cant recommend it enough. This is one my only fics with a serious tone throughout which is tough for this clown.

Double Jeopardy – Written for my buddy after finding out she has an intelligence kink! Cut to us giggling about Sam losing his damn mind when he plays Jeopardy with clever Dean!

Listen…I can’t fully express how much comments give me LIFE! I want to know what you liked about my silly musings, I want to know your fav part, I want to know that I gave you a boner! I'll take a button smash, I'll take an emoticon. Anything, everything! I make a point to always respond back to show my appreciation for people taking time out of their day to make my day.

6) What's the fic you've written with the angstiest ending?

Without a shadow of a doubt Yesterday Don’t Matter if It’s Gone about what would happen if Sam and Dean hooked up during Mystery Spot and exacerbated Sam’s downward spiral during the months of Tuesdays. I write a lot of humour and this sucker is humourless PLUS has an unhappy ending! Weeee!

Never have but not opposed to the idea.

9) Have you ever received hate on a fic?

Nope, I’ve been pretty fortunate but I also write pretty tame shit. So if I start dabbling more in the archive warnings it may change. I do have a fun multichap wincestiel non-con WIP in the works 😈

AHAHAHAHAHA I’d say a good 90-95% of my 84k wordcount is smut! All M/M all explicit! Fun times over at Casa Scissors 😏. I do have some upcoming stuff that’s more plot heavy though which I’m looking forward to.

Yes! And as a noob I had to pinch myself, it still fucking blows my mind! A lovely Ao3 user Yigelulu translated I Can’t Forget the Time and Place Where We Just Met into Chinese. It was so incredibly cool to see my words in another language and a great honour that they liked my fic enough to put in all that work!

13) Have you ever co-written a fic before? Yup! Turn Your Head and Cough with my budbud Wearingdeantoprom. Dean gets his prostate rubbed for the first time at the doctors office.

14) What's your all time favorite ship?

Wincest wincest all the wincest! My brain is infected and there is no cure! I am a pro-shipper though ship and let ship my dudes. I also dabble in wincestiel and LOVE any combination of winkline and may write it one day. I don’t really read much from other fandoms. I’ve read some George/Fred (I like brother fucking ok?) and I love me some Jess Mariano/Dean Forester over in the Gilmore Girls camp (the perfect enemies to lovers) but its unfortunately such a small ship. Any souls reading this who like those ships, please drop any recs into my box!

15) What's a WIP that you want to finish but don't think you ever will?

Anything I am passionate about I will finish. I’ve only killed one thing because I got bored with it but I posted my fav part for a fic challenge. I hate not having something to show for my spent time (I know it's a hobby but it's the principle damnit!) and I hate unfinished things. Those damn little ao3 red circles haunt me 🚫

16) What are your writing strengths?

Christ uhhh I’ll say I’m most consistently praised in comments for my dialogue and it’s what always flows the smoothest for me. I think my humour is also a strength, it comes very naturally when I write which is why I have a hard time keeping it out of my fics! Times are tough I just wanna make y’all giggle ok?

17) What are your writing weaknesses?

Frankly, my greatest weakness is that I don’t take it seriously enough to look at my past writing critically for improvement. I also write (non-fiction) for my job and had extensive training to do so, so when its for this hobby I honestly whip it out, edit a couple times, and slap it up ‘good enough’ styles and I don’t go back to re-read once posted. I think if I looked back, I could see lots of opportunities for improvement and could go from a fine writer to a good writer. I’d also say that I’ve written pretty fun fluffy cracky smutty stuff so I guess another weakness is a lack of depth of plot and subject matter. I do want to explore this stuff more though.

18) What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?

My concern is if you don’t speak the language fluently, then native speakers reading your fic might feel a big disconnect if you get colloquialisms and euphemism etc. incorrect. It could take them out of your fic if its not authentic enough. I don’t speak any other language fluently so it would END BADLY. I can speak and read French VERY POORLY and that’s it so no, I will never write in another language unless its jibberish I invented myself!

19) What was the first fandom you wrote for?

The only fanfic I wrote before SPN last year was a handful of super cracky, gen Gundam Wing fanfiction in high school!! They are on a broken USB stick which kills me I want to read them so badly! All my other creative writing was original fiction mainly horror/thrillers. I stopped when I started my undergrad cause...that shit is a lot of work yo.

20) What's your favorite fic you've written?

My first love is my first baby Well Jung. I love the plot, I love the humour in it, I love the heart, and it’s still some of my fav sex I’ve written. And the title makes me giggle too who doesn’t love a bad pun? I'm so thrilled it was so successful but it would still be my favourite even if 3 people read it. It made me rediscover writing as a hobby and helped me explore this wonderful (yet insane) fandom. I love all my babies and I even think the writing is stronger in other fics, but he will always be #1 in my heart.

A WILD GOOSE CHASE an outer banks and marvel crossover series

“Oh,You look hot!”Tony says to Steve. “Thanks,Tony. You don’t look to bad yourself.” Steve says sending a wink Tony’s way. “Why are we dressed like this again?” Wade asks uncomfortable with how much of his skin is showing. “I was wondering the same thing.” Peter states pulling uncomfortably at his tie.”We’re dressed like this because they have an event called Midsummer...Midsummers sorry.” Wanda says squinting at the paper in her hand. “Not that I mind wearing mid guardian clothing but lady Wanda that still doesn’t explain why we must where it.” Thor says sounding confused. “Brother,the event is as you mid guards call it ‘Fancy’. so we have to wear our best clothing.” Loki says to his brother who doesn’t look as confused now. “Ahh,that makes much more sense. Thank you brother for explaining.” Thor says giving Loki a hug. “Yes,Yes ok you are crushing me now,Brother.”Loki deadpans. “Well we got a jet to catch so everyone ready?” Natasha asks looking at everyone and after that a chorus of yeses follow. “Well what are you waiting for? let’s go!” Tony states and heads to the elevator. Monster Hunter Movie

Spoilers Will Be Present.

There are a lot of things one can say about the badness of the film.

To me there are two basic issues, which interconnect: Tone and Respect.

At the core of things the studio and director considered their own brands more important than the brand of their source material. This is an understandable mistake to make when you’re thinking business - after all how would you survive as a brand if you granted primacy to other brands all the time? - but concessions must be made or else you’re just appropriating the aesthetics.

That’s what happened here. And it’s half of what made the movie a bad movie.

I went in expecting it to be real bad and as a result I was only mildly disappointed in some missed opportunities as opposed to legit incensed the way some MH bloggers are. But I do not blame them for being angry.

The plot, basically, is: Some army folks include Artemis, who you probably know is the main character because a) she’s the captain b) she’s Milla Jovovich and c) she’s the character you played as in the movie crossover event in MH World two weeks prior. They’re looking for Bravo Team when they get sucked into a dimensional rift and dropped in the land of Monster Hunter. So far so Isekai.

They encounter a Black Diablos which doesn’t act much like the monster from the games. Also a hunter played by Tony Jaa fires a paint bomb warning shot at them - It’s unclear whether he was trying to get them to leave or just thought the paint bomb would let them know they were in mortal danger.

The Black Diablos kills one of them and they run into some rocky terrain to escape.

This turns out to be the nest of roughly a thousand Nerscylla - horrible spider monsters. These kill everyone else over the course of an 11-minute, uh, tribute to Starship Troopers I guess we’ll call it. Artemis survives. There’s a 20-second sequence I thought was very good as a scene but belonged in a non-MH film, where she escapes the nest where she just watched eggs on her buddy burst with baby Nerscylla and then suddenly rips off her army gear to check herself for eggs in this frenzied panic. Seemed like both a smart thing to do and a reasonable trauma response to expect from someone.

But it shouldn’t have happened at all.

Backing it up, the 11 minutes before it shouldn’t have happened.

Nerscylla isn’t a pack hunter. They don’t grow in gigantic broods. But more than that the whole scene was...mean-spirited, and ugly.

Something that is important to understand about Monster Hunter as a franchise is that the seriousness of the stakes - the town is always under attack, or some ancient species of monster has awoken, or some new deviant mutation is driving smaller monsters into settled areas - is always, ALWAYS tempered by a fundamental directorial optimism. I think this film may be the first Monster Hunter thing where anyone dies and we see it happening. There have certainly been characters who mourned or wanted vengeance (more in the manga than the games) but that’s always something that happened before what we’re watching, and that’s really important to the tone.

Jovovich also has absurd plot armor, which, frankly, would have been fine - possibly even admirable - if they’d been adhering to the “nobody dies on screen” rule. Having someone get blasted across the landscape and get knocked out for a bit...as a player I’d have found this hilarious. As it is, there’s definitely a “why is this lady still alive” vibe that keeps cropping up because the movie’s taken a lot of time telling us that people in its setting are fragile chunks of meat that can be torn asunder at any moment.

Anyway, after all this trauma she encounters Tony Jaa and they fight. Why? Probably because he’s a martial artist and they wanted to get some mileage out of that fact. This is extremely dumb. Again, the only place where I’ve seen anything more than casual ribbing between humanoids in anything MH is the manga, and even there it didn’t come to blows. And within the context of this film these people have no reason to think the other’s an enemy and two extremely deadly reasons - the nearby monsters - to work together. Both have been presented as smart enough to know this. But fight scene. Long, stupid fight scene.

The fight nearly becomes fatal, and they realize it’s dumb. There’s another 5-10 minutes of bonding. This is fine! Jovovich and Jaa have decent chemistry (never aimed at romance, which is kind of refreshing) and there’s a really cute Demon Mode reference and also a product placement that turns out later to be a pretty cool linguistic joke (she gives him chocolate, calls it chocolate, he later uses the word chocolate to mean tasty).

They have a plan to get Nerscylla venom and use it to hurt Diablos, maybe paralyze or put it to sleep, so they can get across the dunes it’s guarding toward Jaa’s team and the dimensional storm Jovovich came through from.

The venom doesn’t visibly have any effect, which makes the whole planning thing feel wasteful.

Also, everyone’s use of the basic Alloy and Bone set of weapons gives people who’ve played MH the impression that none of these hunters have successfully hunted any monsters ever. One of the core points with the games is the loop of fighting monsters, carving them up, and using their parts to make weapons and armor you use against other monsters. But more than that, the presence of monster-armor on your npc fellow hunters in camp makes the world feel lived in, makes the people feel like part of the ecosystem.

So with a bunch of needless gore, they kill the Diablos. I actually was kind of excited that she carved a piece off of it - ah, she was going to make armor or weapons out of this near-bulletproof monster’s hide! No, she made a pallet to carry Tony Jaa, who got hurt in the fight. Then when he can walk they leave the big ol’ scale behind. OK.

Did I mention Ron Perlman’s in this film? Well he is, and while it’s a good visual match to have him as The Admiral he’s also - like the film at large - not optimistic enough. The character he’s playing is an old warrior who’s survived tons of battles and laughs in the face of danger. Perlman’s rendition is moody and serious, which once there are fight scenes is a mismatch with his fighting style.

Like I said way up top, there’s a willingness to use the aesthetics of the beloved franchise. Just not the themes. They aren’t willing to present things from a Monster Hunter Franchise perspective, because these gritty, brutal worlds are the brand of this director. When the franchise he was working with was Resident Evil, gritty, gory brutality was a brand match and the resulting film was one of the better video game movies out there (yes, I know that’s not a high bar). Here, it led to a movie with a lot of visually beautiful work but a tone that seems directly disrespectful to its source material.

So that’s a problem.

I said the tone made one of the two big problems. The other would be an issue even if I knew nothing about Monster Hunter, which is a series of structural flaws in the direction - mostly around the pacing of the film.

Army opener, fine. Trying to set up rapport. Diablos fight, too long. Nerscylla scene, WAY too long. Jaa-Jovovich fight, WAY too long. Bonding scene, fine. Planning to fight Diablos, too long. Diablos fight, fine. Jaa’s desert near-death experience, too long (didn’t need to happen at all). Jungle region, a little long but not bad. Rathalos encounter, fine. Ship scene, exposition dump, long and also boring. Rathalos fight...

The Rathalos burns two hunters to death on screen. See above, this is bothersome. It’s also chucking people across the landscape. Jovovich gets tossed into a portal back to earth.

Also off a cliff. We’re back to the “how’s she alive?” problem. She gets rescued by the army, they start to take her for treatment, the helicopter is attacked by the Rathalos.

For a tonal mismatch this is probably the best scene. I think this idea, very Reign of Fire, is what the director really wanted from the film. MH monsters in NYC, Lagiacrus attacking surfers from underwater, all that. We couldn’t afford those sets, so we get a dragon attacking army toys in a desert.

Dragon wins. I honestly appreciated the sale of how a dragon could win this engagement. I think the direction and editing successfully created a scene where the army losing the fight felt plausible.

Of course, this makes Jovovich and Jaa taking it down feel a bit much, but okay.

And we finish with what amounts to a tease of the idea of a series. I don’t get the sense that this is a genuine appeal. I think the “idea of more fights” is the ending. It doesn’t work, mind you, but this has become a kind of trope for one way to end a video game movie.

The thing I like least about this trope is that to hype up the audience the characters in the film all seem suddenly excited to be engaging in the activity we’ve been shown to be terrifying and deadly for the whole film. NOW they think it’s fun.

And that’s an extra layer of disappointment, because it indicates that we could have been having fun this whole time, if the director weren’t obsessed with brutality.

Chromatica first listen reactions

Chromatica 1 - Orchestral opening, very cinematic like she threw a Hans Zimmer wig in the ring here for apparently no reason other than to maybe suggest a video game/scifi movie opening? I’m getting opening credits to a Square Enix game circa 2005 so. I’m good with it.

Alice - MY NAME. ISN’T ALICE. Straight into the dance beats… yes god. Verses may be forgettable and the lyrics/conceit of the song isn’t that interesting but I’m really loving the chorus sound and the modulated voice in the bridge - Judas teas!! Other than the bridge, kinda filler? Remains to be seen on second listen.

Stupid Love - I didn’t love this when it leaked or was officially released. I almost let the dumb video sour the potential of it. Is it the greatest song here? No it’s just as dumb as its video. But it’s actually more enjoyable when you just accept that it’s dumb and don’t try to fight against it. It’s got some crisp BTW B-side sounding production and corniness to it and we can get behind that! After school special pop. Not sorry, I’ll listen to Stupid Love.

Rain on Me - Has gay sex in public while this plays. Someone meanwhile smokes a cigarette in a Brooklyn warehouse and sips a matcha cocktail. Next.

Free Woman - KNOCK OUT in my opinion. Like an upbeat So Happy I Could Die I would argue… Also might be one of the lezzier items on offer here. Which is among my priorities in listening to any Lady Gaga output. You really get the texture of her vocals here and Gaga’s voice is one of her real selling points. There are no girls who make this kind of music that have her intonation. Periodt. I’m a Free Wuhman!

Fun Tonight - Is this the ballad? It’s not a ballad. It’s a dance song. But it has Gypsy from ARTPOP vibes. The Gaga equivalent of a torch song. This is the song you put on when you’re having a little early 00s white girl in a romcom sad montage moment and there’s certainly a time and place for that! This is definitely about Christian and for that reason I wish it were angrier lmao. (Fuck him)

Chromatica II - More moody strings! I definitely get more of a video game feel from this than cinematic necessarily. Feels like an album version of a cut scene.

911 - Heavy bass! Chanting robot voice! Would’ve given myself a wettie through the car speakers with this if I were still driving on the regular. This vocal is of kin with Madonna’s on Madame X. The lyrics here are GARBAGE  but it might get the Heavy Metal Lover treatment where I’ll eventually love every bit of it.

Plastic Doll - This is Barbie Girl but played straight. Right now I don’t love that but given enough to drink I will think it’s transcendent art. She rhymed ‘saga’ and ‘gaga’! Someone will inevitably perform a genderqueer drag act to this.

Sour Candy - I don’t pretend to know actually anything about Kpop. Their presence here gives me unrelenting early 00s vibes. Is that a big reference point for Kpop groups? I have no idea. I think this one might have real commercial value considering the crossover event of it all. The production here is really just. fine. Capable. But I LOVE the Gaga vocal!! My favorite other than Free Woman thus far.

Enigma - She put some effort into the lyrics here! Thanks G! Killer, signature soaring Gaga chorus. The enigma thing is technically self promotion for her never-ending Vegas residency (which costs about a billion to attend). This has 70s disco sparkle to it and it’s really enjoyable.

Replay - (Shawty’s like a replay?). When the electro-hook kicks in here, I just want to get up and dance. This whole section of the album actually after Chromatica II (should we call it Act 2?) feels like it’s trying to ramp the energy back up after a dip. “Your monsters torture me!” Me looking up at my Fame Monster merchandise.

Chromatica III - OK like the cut scene before the final boss! My favorite of the three orchestral songs. Makes sense considering what’s to come in Sine From Above.

Sine From Above - FUCK. For me, the best song on the album on first listen. This has the most “narrative” and “build” as I would say in a reader’s report at work. Elton John actually brings even more gravitas to this. Let’s spell it out kids: W-I-G! Before there was love there was silence!!!

1000 Doves - It’s depressing me a bit how plaintive she is on this album. But somehow this song is still uptempo? Reminds me of the original version of Dope. But like, listenable. Much as we valorize ARTPOP was oddly prescient for its release year, there were legit duds on that album. Dope was one of them.

Babylon - You can serve it to me ancient city style! She said lemme ham it up real quick to finish this ditty off. The Lady Gaga equivalent of Liza Minnelli turns off a lamp. Gossip! Babble on! This is what I’ll put on to get dressed and, nostalgically, it gives me a little of Disco Heaven closing The Fame. This might start up shit with Madonna again like the good old days :)

OVERALL THOUGHTS: This is the most homogenous album she’s released since The Fame. It’s also one of the snappiest, smoothest listens as an album. Sometimes Gaga albums are better taken in bites... One of the upsides: that homogeneity makes it automatically more cohesive than say, Born This Way or even Joanne (cowboy crap aside). Do the complaints that she’s playing it safe hold water? Absolutely and that’s just as I expected. But this is the album she frankly needed to make at this stage. Just as Madonna needed to make Ray of Light when she did. After such massive and unexpected success basically under the guise of ANOTHER character (this one a basic girl in the Ally/SiB character), she needed to ease back into the Gaga machine.

BEST SONGS: Sine From Above, Free Woman, Enigma, Babylon

Anyway, I’m putting Sine From Above on repeat now!!

like, I get why op had him give that speech - to prevent the cons from trying to free megs again/thinking that he was being coerced into things (ironic considered he WAS coerced into giving that speech) - but it’s kinda the easy way our for megatron - being able to completely abandon the decepticon cause and not deal with it at all, and start over anew as an autobot

it would've been a lot harder to remain a con and try to reform what he has broken in the decepticon movement - but I think that would've been really interesting

though from a writing logistics standpoint, I get why jro didn't go for that bc we don't get a lot of other decepticons in the cast for that to work, and also megatron still definitely DOES have to face down all his mistakes w/the decepticons w/the djd and overlord and whatnot

At the Salvatore School, a surprise birthday party saw old friends reunite.

"This is the best birthday present," Elena said hugging Bonnie, "when did you get here?"

"Last night. Caroline literally smuggled me in." Bonnie recalled the events of her arrival.

"That is why you cancelled on me last night?!" Elena turned to Caroline.

"We can have a much better movie night now that Bonnie is back." Caroline raised an eyebrow chuckling a bit,"now the cake. You can have your other presents later."

As they all had a cake and Elena unpacked her presents, the party dispersed, leaving Elena with Bonnie in the garden.

"Thanks so much for coming. I hope you are going to stay a while." Elena said taking a bit of the cake.

"I am. Sidney is coming down from New York this weekend. He wants to meet you guys."

"Omg - this like really serious?!"

"It is." Bonnie said, "he asked me to marry him. I got bigger news. I am pregnant."

Flashback

London A week earlier

  "Ahhh, that's great. I am so happy for you."

"Caroline heard the baby beat, the vampire her. So I told her last night."

"Hey, it's fine. We are not in competition."

"I want you guys to be my maids of honour and the baby's Godmothers." Bonnie said.

"Oh, Bon - thank you. Ah, this so made my day. I am so happy for you."

"I am really happy. I thought I would never fall in love again," Bonnie smiled, adding, "I wish you and Caroline get to be happy again, too."

"I got the practise, and Caroline's got the School." Elena sighed a little.

"I bet days like these make you miss Damon."

"I miss him. But I am good. I've been on a date." Elena said.

"Really? Omg- who with?" Bonnie got curious.

"A friend of Alaric's. A history professor from Whitmore. Joe. But it was a total didaster."

"Oh - you're not ready or? He was just not - crazy enough?!"

"I am so ready, but - there was no spark - nothing. He is ok, but - yeah"

"Spark - so important!" Bonnie emphasized,and now turned to the subject of a certain detective that Caroline had mentioned Elena was swooning about, but was not going to admit it.

"It's like totally weird. And then it kinda isn't." Elena said, her thoughts swaying to Nick.

"What's up?" Bonnie asked, seeing Elena go suddenly quiet.

"Nothing. Feel a bit tired. I had an emergency call at 6 a.m this morning and I've been working all day." Elena fibbed a little, though she did feel a tad bit exhausted.

"Tomorrow, movie night- I am so up for it. The three of us together again." Bonnie said.

"Oh, yeah. My house. We are so going all ‘High School’ retro time." Elena said standing up.

"I'll get the popcorn. God, I am so happy to be back." Bonnie stood up herself.

"I'll see you tomorrow." Elena hugged her friend warmly, before she went to find Caroline and thanked her for throwing her the party.

"Yes, mom. I've got everything sorted." Nick said to his mother as he pulled in his drive way. 

"Right. I am getting things wrapped up here. I should be in Mystic Falls in a few days."

"All right. We can’t wait to see you." Nick said and as they exchanged byes, he got out of the car. 

Life changed dramatically for him. Never, in his wildest dreams did he think he would be living in a small town like Mystic Falls. It still felt like he went through the looking glass and entered another world.

Putting his phone away in his suit jacket he stood for a moment, looking at the house next door. It was a new house, belonging to Dr Gilbert Salvatore. Making a small gulp he  flashed back to the first time he had met Elena.

Flashback

Two months earlier

Salvatore School Charity Night

There, she appeared through the door of the big room. And he could not take his eyes off her.

Seeing her pull in in the driveway, he got out, meeting her as she got her medical bag out, as well as a couple of bags of groceries, trying to balance them.

"Evening" Nick said, “Can I help?"

Elena, feeling suddenly flush nodded.

Taking the groceries, without a word, the detective followed the doppelganger into the house.

Nick stepped in, glancing at the decor that screamed modern rustic look.      

"The kitchen is through here." Elena gestured the direction.

"It's a beautiful house" Nick complemented the interior.

"Thank you," the brunette said putting her medical bag on the side chair,"but you are not here to - uhm- why are you here? I mean, if it is about Zara- she just had a light sprain. The wrist will be fine in a couple of weeks.”

“It’s not about Zara. Or the case. Can I say - Happy birthday."

"Oh, thank you. Right -”

"Right - yes - uhm - I’m sorry - you must think that I am a total jerk.” the detective made a mental sigh before he continued, his whole being strangely getting rigid. "I came here to apologize."

"What for?" Elena cut in.

"The way I was dismissive the other day - among other things."

"Yeah. All right. If that is it - no big." Elena shrugged it off.

"True. Still - since I will be living here - next door. I want things to be ok between us. Be a good neighbour. And Zara likes you - she told me she wanted to be a doctor."

"We're good. I told you - no big."

"Thank you." Nick nodded."I won’t not keep you any longer- good night"

"Good night" Elena said walking to the back door opening it for the detective  who stood still as he got out, turning to the brunette.

"What?"

"Yes- back there - the other day - behind the Grill - you pulled me away - you wanted to tell me something. But then Caroline Forbes came and you left. What is it that you wanted to tell me? It sounded like it was quite important”

“Well - I was - thinking to invite you to my birthday party.”

“Oh - right. And I fucked it up. Sorry”                  

Ever since her eyes locked with his, he knew his heart was already hers. Every time his saw her, coming to check on the last finishes on the house, meeting her, talking to her, he fell more for her smile, her laugh, her easy-going personality and everything else about her. He didn’t think he could fall for someone that made him feel like he was a teenager again, sheepishly staring at her, everything inside him stirred. Nick looked at Elena, losing himself in her deep chocolate eyes confirming now that she was not holding any grudges.

“You’re forgiven.” Elena said, her lips twitching cutely.

Nick curled up a little smile, nodding a little as in thank you, before turning away walking through the garden door to his house.

Elena walked inside her house, closing the back door, smiling like a cheshire cat. Putting her hands on her flushed cheeks to cool them down, she tried to calm her heart that was beating giddily.

“You’re like falling in love - and it’s great, Lena” it hummed. “It’s totally time to start over again.”

Best ways to approach you for rp/plotting:  if you want to plot, it would be best to send me an IM and ask me, then we can definitely move to discord if you’d rather. it’s possible to approach me for rp without plotting first, best way would be to send me a meme when i reblog them or simply an ic ask, which i will answer, while memes might get lost. ic asks are good ice-breakers, we can continue plotting from there.

What expectations do you hold towards your plotting partner:  i need my partners to be as interested in our plot as i am. it would be great if you already have an idea, but it’s still good if you don’t, i get that coming up with ideas can be hard sometimes; mostly, i require honesty. you can definitely tell me that you got no ideas and i will do my best to help, ask questions, try to spark something. i do require the feeling of having that commitment reciprocated.

When you notice the plotting is rather one-sided, what do you do?:  i tend to straight up drop the conversation lmao. no hard feelings, but if i get the feeling you’re not interested, i will take my distance - i won’t waste my energy on a plot if my partner doesn’t share my enthusiasm. still, you can always approach me again, if you’re feeling up to it / have new ideas / whatever. nice thing of online convos is that they don’t have an expiration date lol.

How do you usually plot with others, do you give input or leave most work towards your partner?:  i always ask if they got any ideas to begin with. if my partner already knows, more or less, what kind of dynamic they wanna build with my character(s), that makes it infinitely easier to build something meaningful. it’s still fine if they don’t, i will usually ask a lot of questions regarding their muse’s opinions / feelings / etc., and try to navigate from there. a question i usually ask is: is there any aspect of your muse you’d like to explore? i think that’s a pivotal point in any interaction. 

When a partner drops the thread, do you wish to know?:   YES / NO / DEPENDS. - And why?: if they feel like telling me, why not. but usually, i don’t warn when i drop a thread, so it’s not expected of my partners ever. - What should your partner do when dropping a thread?:  nothing in particular tbh. they can tell me or approach me to start a new thread if they wish to, but it’s not required.

What could possibly lead you to drop a thread?:  i might lose interest in a thread, especially if i feel like it’s going nowhere or if the inspiration for it simply doesn’t come. it’s never happened so far that i had to drop a thread because it was making me uncomfortable, but that could still be a reason for me to. in general, though, i would approach my partner in that case. - Will you tell your partner?:   YES / NO / DEPENDS.

Is communication in the rpc important to you?   YES / NO. - And why?:  absolutely. i’d rather avoid awkward situations or misunderstandings of any kind; if something’s up, tell me. i also like to communicate with my writing partners (be it in the tags of our threads or in IMs), makes me feel like the enthusiasm is not one-sided and i find it generally pleasant.  - Are you okay with absolute honesty, even if it may means hearing something negative about you and/or portrayal?:  sure. we gotta stay polite, but honest. - Do you think you can handle such situation in a mature way?  YES / NO.

Why do you rp again, is there a goal?:  to have fun, to cultivate my writing skills and my english, and to explore my favorite characters. 

Wishlist, be it plots or scenarios:  i want to develop aizen’s wandenreich verse, because i’m deep in quincy hell and i think his dynamics with quincy muses could be super interesting. anything involving the intricacies of bleach politics is super interesting to me, be it with aizen or with my two quincy muses - who, btw, are also good to explore dynamics between quincies / their culture / relationships etc.

Themes I won’t ever rp / explore:  i won’t write anything pertaining to sexual assault. 

What Type of Starters do you prefer / dislike, can’t work with?: it’s gotten difficult to work with starters such as “you summoned me / do you need anything / did you call for me” etc. i used to receive that kind of starters all the time with aizen, and i can’t come up with something new every damn time. i also have a hard time working with starters / replies that already feel like a closed conversation and don’t give me anything to reply to.

What type of characters catch your interest the most?:  i’m not sure i have a type. aizen is pretty much an exception, the only example of an already well-built character i write, since i tend to gravitate around minor ones that don’t have much material and that i can work on and expand without being affected by the fandom’s opinion or whatever. somehow i always tend to rp tall guys-

What type of characters catch your interest the least?:  children and teenagers don’t interest me for the most part. characters who don’t have a shred of an opinion or can’t offer any interesting conflicts. overly friendly, mushy, affectionate and flowery characters are really not my cup of tea either. 

What are your strong aspects as rp partner?:  oh god i have no idea. i’m very laid-back, i guess. i’ll never pressure my partners for replies, i don’t think i’m owed a reply in the first place because we all have lives offline,  so i’ll never take it to heart if a partner drops a thread. if i really feel like our roleplaying styles don’t mesh, it will be at my own discretion to do something about it. another strong aspect i have ....... i think i have a decent grasp on all my muses? especially aizen. of course ur free to disagree lol. also, lately i’ve been p active, so that’s it. 

What are your weak aspects as rp partner?: i’m really slow. i might speed up for my closest friends, with whom i plot / rp regularly, but usually i take quite some time to reply to random unplotted threads. i probably have a thousand other flaws as a rper, but this is the biggest one that comes to my mind rn.

More out of fun or character development?:  i don’t write detailed sex scenes. sorry lmao they’re just not interesting to me. however, i’m super-ok with writing anything around it, like intimate scenes etc. in fact i find it somewhat soothing.  - Anything you would not want to rp there?:  the nitty-gritty part is already a no, but i guess also sexual violence and shit like that. it’s a no.

Are ships important to you?:   YES / NO. Would you say your blog is ship-focused?:   YES / NO. Do you use read more?:  YES / NO / SOMETIMES. Are you: Multi-Ship / Single-Ship / Dual-Ship  —  Multiverse / Singleverse. - What do you love to explore the most in your ships?:  all my ships are with snow 8′) and ur never bored with her. in general, i love being able to explore the muses’ relationships, their conflicts and their peaceful moments, especially in relation to canon events! - What is your smut tag?: nsfw / ........ my n*sfw posts are rare anyway.

Are you okay with pre-established relationships?: YES / NO. - And what kind of ones?: to an extent, i prefer pre-est relationships to first meetings - which they can get a bit dull after some time. i’m ok with mostly anything, and only more selective when it comes to relationships that might severely alter my muse’s canon / past / overall character.

- What could possibly make your Muse interesting towards others, why should they rp with this particular character of yours now, what possible plots do they offer?:  not to stroke my own feathers but aizen offers a perfect chance at character development to any and all bleach characters. he’s the main villain, he holds some wild opinions, and whether you agree or disagree with him, he leaves no one indifferent. aizen is the main cornerstone of bleach, and if you want your muse to questions themselves and the system / world around them, interacting with him is the best way to start. also, aizen interacted with a fuckton of people, knows practically everything there is to know, is responsible for significant amount of canon events, so you see ... whatever character you write, aizen has the full potential to be extremely relevant in the course of their development.

- With what type of Muses do you usually struggle to rp with?:   children, ordinary low-ranked shinigami (i find it hard when it’s out of the blue, even in aizen’s captain and lieutenant verses ... because interactions would likely be only work-related, and won’t go far), characters whose personalities really have nothing to do with aizen. unfortunately, he’s not my easiest muse, and i don’t want to force interactions with him.  - With what type of Muses do they usually work well with?:  characters who have opinions, some political involvement, in general characters with whom aizen had a dynamic in canon. 

- What interests your Muse(s) in general:  reading, calligraphy, philosophy (especially in-world philosophy), science (again, mostly related to the specificity of the bleach universe), the very careful crafting of his plan- - What do they desire, is their goal?:  kill the soul king and take its place, destroy the institutions of soul society, subdue them. and then rule, as the soul king never did before. - What catches their interest first when meeting someone new?:  the idiosyncracies in their behavior, the particularities, their possible weaknesses.  - What do they value in a person?:    very little, usually. he may appreciate a resolute personality, strength, and intelligence. - What themes do they like talking about?:  speaking mostly of mundane talks, he likes conversing about his interests. it takes a lot for him to share any personal information, though. - Which themes bore them?:  anything about the greater good, friendship, love, very human topics.

- Did they ever went through something traumatic?:  seeing the soul king, in all things like a ghost stalking his dreams, and well ... spending his early life in rukongai as a whole. being forced to consume other souls in order to survive. the first times his reiatsu killed anyone who tried to get near him.  - What could possibly trigger them?:  it’s rare that he will outwardly show signs of distress, i’d say almost impossible. the few times the soul king still appears in his mind, greatly upsets him though. - What could set them off, enrage them?:  the soul king gets him particularly heated. urahara, as we witnessed. after his defeat, ichigo, to an extent. - What could lead to an instant kill?:  kubo was a coward who didn’t dare let him kill any relevant character, but actually aizen kills very liberally.

- Is there someone /-thing they hate?:  the soul king, urahara. he has a strong disdain for yamamoto, and that joke of C46. - Is there someone /-thing they love?:    himself. tousen

Is your Muse easy to approach?: YES / NO. - Best ways to approach them?:  he’s only really easy to approach for bleach characters, who, depending on who they are, have different eligible verses to further facilitate the interaction. humans / powerless bleach characters can’t really interact with him tho. - Where are they usually to find?:  soul society or hueco mundo. i have a verse set in the wandenreich.

Something you may still want to point out about your muse?:  aizen is not a particularly easy muse, but it’s part of his overall mosaic to be somewhat unapproachable and distant. i’m not out to make him someone he is not, so forgive me in advance if plotting with me turns out to be difficult in a way or another. he’s very dear to me, and i try my best to do him justice! while my main headcanons may not affect our interactions specifically, i still ask my partners to look them up (they’re linked in my about page) because they’re essential to my portrayal and it makes me happy to have them acknowledged. i think that’s all lmao. come visit me over at my quincy boys too.
