i want to drop all of my pjo dnd campaign art here because i am quite literally obsessed with them.

but here is oikia! she is actually in cabin 9, idk why i wrote 8 twice…

after a harsh winter of surviving monster attacks, this poor 13 year old amnesiac half blood stumbles across to camp half blood, where chiron says could be her “oikia” (ancient greek for home), which she adopts as her name. while she isn’t officially claimed, she does have sacred fire powers and the hephaestus cabin takes her in as their own. she doesn’t have the same skills as her brothers and sisters, but she is a creative spirit with the desire to make sure that everyone else feels that they belong, as that is something that has always struggled with herself. if you ever cross paths with her, she will make a lil pet rock version of you as a gift 😌

“The garden”

The work is informed by the idea of garden as human construct, which bears a strong whiff of utopia by simulating nature within cultural boundaries.

The piece is divided in two parts: a singular guided tour on site and a dance quintet. 

The first part concerns modalities of spectacle reception and is closely related to the uncanny period of the pandemic and the corporeal alienation everybody had to undergo and quite possibly continues to undergo. To the question How can we clean off our gaze in order to receive the spectacle in a purer state, we respond by incorporating the piece in a ritual that invites the audience to participate bodily. This ritual consists in a blindfolded tour of a building of particular architectural interest; the dancers, assuming the part of mystagogues, will guide the participants with great care and delicacy throughout a kinesthetic acquaintance with the site: with vision subtracted, hearing, touch and smell become heightened. Planes, direction, space, sound, temperature, humidity, sensing the air, are thus received in a completely different manner.

The performance will take place at the end of this tour, on a patio, where the participants will uncover their eyes, in an essay of being as proximal as possible to a dream state.

The quintet that will follow is a sculpture of flesh, revealing images familiar or unfamiliar, nightmarish figures, monstrous groupings, images of transience. 

A dance – ode to unsightliness, a trajectory embracing all counternatural beings.

As in my previous piece – the “A Very Pacicific Ocean” duet – here too grimace, deformation, and grotesqueness are salient notions.

Grotesquery, oscillating between the tragic and the comic, flirts with abnormality, ridiculousness, the non-harmonious, the ugly, the arhythmic, the incomplete.

Old age, malady, madness, death, along with imagery associated with religion, metaphysics and hell define the gamut of deformation and grotesqueness. The spectators will have the opportunity to recognize in these transient revelations the origin of the images as if from a communal lot; they will also recognize their own experiences or formations of their imagination or, on the flipside, encounter the spectacle as a new, first-time-experienced figuration.

Ολόκληρη εγκατάσταση παράνομης καλλιέργειας υδροπονικης κάνναβης είχε στηθεί σε μονοκατοικία στους πρόποδες της Πάρνηθας, πλην όμως είχε φτάσει στα αυτιά του τοπικού Τμήματος Ασφαλείας Αχαρνών όπου μετά από συντονισμένη επιχείρηση συνέλαβε τον δράστη και κατάσχεσε τα δενδρύλλια.
