Oikawa Toru is an extremely skilled volleyball player, who can not help but feel inferior to prodigy's with natural talents and higher skillsets. A boy who loves his sport with his entire being, but can not help but be distressed at the idea of those who surpass hm

thinking about a third itoshi sibling who's like oikawa. a third sibling who fell in love with volleyball at a young age, who couldn't help but put in their all into the sport they love. a third sibling who shows the same ambition that their brothers have with football towards volleyball.

a third sibling who would always be over looked. it's common knowledge that the itoshi family held football prodigies, coming from the great itoshi sae who was so amazing that he went international at such a young age to blue locks number one itoshi rin. why on earth would the family see any value in any other sport?

a third sibling who can't help but be jealous. why does it matter if their siblings are prodigies in football, can people see all the hard work that they put into volleyball? a third sibling who can not help but resent their brothers talent in football. even though they're praised for being so 'highly skilled' in volleyball, they can not help but feel inferior to sae's title as prodigy, or rins higher skillset and natural athletic abilities.

a third sibling who tries to take this feeling of inferiority as motivation to do better. and yet, not matter how many congratulations or awards or games they win, they know that in the eyes of their family, this is nothing. the knowing feeling that no matter how hard they work, how well they improve, how many achievements they receive, that football will always come on top in their family. but, they continue to preserver, for love conquers all battles, and they can not help but love volleyball with all their being.

(a third sibling who can not help but wish. wish that they loved football just as much as their family. then, maybe, they wouldn't feel so alienated. then, maybe, they would be able look into the crowd and see the proud faces of their family. be able to have bonding moments with their brothers who never seem to look at them. maybe their trophies would stand clean and shiny right up there with their brothers instead of lying in the closet collecting dust. but, even if they did love soccer, they know that they would never compare to the shining lights that are their brothers talents. that all they would be was the other itoshi.)

- litterly one of my biggest kins ngl. The shyness, relying on my brain that than my possibilities, being a good leader but actually thinking i am not (at least that's what people tell me), not believing in myself, having one big dream and sharing it to everyone, honestly it feels like (to me) he is just me from another universe

•Mikasa Ackerman (AoT)

-now here things are a bit different. I don't kin her that much, but there are quite some things. Ready to do absolutely everything for a person i care about, having a person to care about me but me refusing it i also look irl like her which is not a big part but like yeah

•Chigiri Hyoma (bllk)

-okay so. I have played basketball for seven years, but at like my third/fourth year i got an injury on my knee. Not as bad as Chigiri's, but bad enough that if i hurt it again I'll need an operation. I kept, going and going though until i just couldn't anymore.. because of that injury basketball became like a trauma to be (coaches and everything) so eventually i had to stop, but with Chigiri i feel like in another universe someone who experienced my pain actually succeeded and it makes me happy

•Reo Mikage (bllk)

-Literally same situation. Had a friend, that was my best friend, did everything for them and they didn't care (literally waited them to start caring for like 4 years) in the end they left for someone that wasn't supposed to be that important, they came back and i accepted them, but after that it didn't felt like we were the same anymore. I didn't get the ending like Reo, but again like Chigiri it makes me feel good knowing that in another universe someone with the same pain actually succeeded

•Atsushi Nakajima (bsd)

-honestly feeling like him much like on Armin's part. There are just things in common between us that I haven't really realised before

•Akaashi Keiji (haikyuu!!)

-Have you guys read the manga? Where he says "I wish i was as talented as Kageyama or Atsumi" yeah that hit me. He doesn't have some kind of talent or anything, because Bokuto is the star-same as me with basketball. Also we both care about the others more than ourself it just- he is like my darling

•Oikawa Toru (haikyuu!)

-okay so i am definitely not an extrovert or anything like this- just the way that talented people will always get in the way is so true. I trained half of my life and then a talented person comes and boom i am not even there. It just hurt me. Again- he managed to go to nationals and complete his dreams (I didn't)- but like Chigiri and Reo i feel happy knowing someone actually managed.

-that guy is so underrated, but that's another theme . There's not much to say here, but i just see similarities between me and him that i can't really explain lol

dear tooru,

can i call you that? i obviously don't want to overstep any boundaries since i know you but you don't know me. you were the first person i fell in love with as i watched haikyuu. and over time i came to love you and kin you. you really inspire me, you know? you're so funny, gorgeous, dedicated, hard working, sweet, loyal, and bubbly. how could i not fall for you? how could i not smile at your beautiful smile? giggle at your contagious laughter? swoon over your serves and sets? fawn over your witty taunts? i could really go on and on about what i love about you.

however, as much as i'm in love with you, i can't help but relate to you. i know you would hate to openly admit it, but you can be childish, petty, and insecure. i may be self-projecting myself onto you, but i get that. truthfully, that's really why i kin you, we're pretty much the same in that aspect. to someone who hasn't taken the time to get to know us, we can come off as bubbly, confident - arrogant even, sweet people that some people even see as gorgeous, possibly annoying, and competitive. while that is still us, those people fail to see our insecure side. the side where we compare ourselves to those that are better than us. where we doubt our abilities and feel useless or not good enough. the side where we are petty because we can grow to resent the same people we see as better. the side where we hate ourselves no matter how many compliments we receive and it can lead us to do rash things.

but really, i would love to thank you. thank you for inspiring me to continue doing what i love and thank you for just existing, even if it really is just the idea of you because i feel like you get me. you make me so happy and i really wish you the best. i love you so much and i hope your day is full of love and joy and happiness. i truly love you, oikawa tooru. you help me not hate myself little by little.
