matsukawa issei one of those guys that just walks in the rain. no umbrella no raincoat not even a hood motherfucker just gets wet. it’s not because he forgets to check the weather he is fully cognizant that it is raining he just accepts his fate and steps out the door into the downpour. he leaves a trail of water behind him when he walks inside and wrings out his shirt like a cartoon character his shoes squelch when he walks he has to empty them in the sink his hair is Dripping he shakes his head like a dog his splash zone has a 6 foot radius.

no one understand him his mother won’t let him sit on the couch she’s like what the fuck kid if you get water on the rug one more time you’re sleeping in the rain. oikawa is unimpressed “it’s your funeral” asks issei if he’s thought about investing in a lifejacket. takahiro insists that drowning is “so this year” and issei looks “chic” when he’s shivering. iwaizumi walks beside him on the sidewalk under his own umbrella he does not offer to share issei does not ask there is mutual respect. he doesn’t jump in puddles or anything like that’s too childish or whatever but he Refuses to wear appropriate rain attire he would rather be damp and uncomfortable than inconvenienced.

Oikawa Tooru gets a job at a smoothie stand next to the beach during his post-grad summer (which is perfect! because he gets a brilliant view of all the surfer boys). He's got his eye on Iwaizumi- that's what Suga, his coworker, said his name was, anyways- but he's like the ONLY surfer who hasn't gotten a damn smoothie yet! really, Oikawa's gotten to see every surfer in Japan's abs except this bara beauty's. When Hajime finally does stop by (pulled along by Maki and Mattsun, who really want their friend to see the cute smoothie guy) Oikawa completely forgets how to speak. It's so bad that Suga taps him out and takes Iwa's order instead- "Hey Iwaizumi! What's up?" Fortunately for Tooru, Iwaizumi comes back the next day. And the next. And the day after that. Guess he liked the smoothie.

oh no. oikawa's backstory is making me empathize with him. oh no.

It isn’t until the end of the night, when half of the guys have wandered off to bed and the other half are blearily watching the finale of this third movie in the movie marathon they are all stupidly subjecting themselves to, that Kuroo sees it.

Bokuto, who has, somehow, maneuvered himself so that he is sitting next to Oikawa, slides a heavy arm around Oikawa’s waist.

And then, turning to Oikawa with the most nauseating, lovesick expression on his face, Bokuto leans in to kiss him! Kuroo gasps out loud. Because Oikawa not only kisses Bokuto back, he grabs hold of Bokuto with both a familiarity and a fervor that suggests this is not the first time the two of them have engaged in such behavior.

Kuroo, completely and utterly gobsmacked, furiously rubs his eyes. Did he just hallucinate? Is he losing his mind? 

By the time he opens them back up, however, he isn’t sure, because now Bokuto and Oikawa are merely sitting next to one another, both staring so avidly at the screen that it is clear that there is nothing more important to them at that moment than the final, scarcely believable plot twists of the ridiculous movie they are watching.
