Ohhh this is a pretty interesting question!

Teagan would absolutely be livid. How dare you share your inaccurate, no, corrupted version of what happened between you two to your following? No, no. It wasn't your fault, it was your countless followers who manipulated you and convinced you that there was something wrong with your perfect relationship. They were the ones that poisoned you against them, and you followers were sorely mistaken if they thought that Teagan would let them get away with it. The solution is simple, Teagan would have to remove you from those toxic followers and the best way to do so was get rid of your social media accounts. There's a lot of different ways they would go about this from hacking into the accounts and manually deleting them, to falsifying screenshots in an attempt to cancel you online, or even reporting you and doing everything they could to get your accounts banned. They'd isolate you from your supporters, cut off any means of communication you had with them, and then twist the narrative so that they came out on top once more. A process that they had gotten a lot of practice doing over the years.

What’s your favorite Sims death? Maybe fright? I've only ever had it happen once via ghost, the anim is pretty funny. :)

Alpha CC or Maxis Match? My Simblr probably says otherwise, but I don’t have a preference! I’ve had nearly every possible CC style under the sun throughout my years of playing, and I constantly think about reviving my 'semi-realism' folder (living vicariously through you, other simmers!). I didn't play with CC until early 2006 though, so MM is a little bit more nostalgic. :)

Do you cheat your sims weight? Hell no! I'm still in awe of Nysha's townie body diversity mod finally letting townies be fat. :D I wish the game had a better way of managing bodyshapes so I could add more variety that way.

Do you move objects? Of course!

Favorite Mod? Of all time? Impossible! My continued interest in gameplay is always because of new mods. :)

I did gain a new outlook thanks to a mod recently, though! My wild romance sim Blaze Biermann ended up 'mood swinging' to fortune before he went to uni, and instead of reverting, it got stuck.

He had a few flings still (pleasure secondary), but after he returned home and met his daughter (for the first time since her birth), he started cringing whenever I directed him to romance his dates. It felt like he had grown as a person, and I loved it!

TL;DR: Randomly change your sims' original aspiration/s to give them interesting character arcs! First Expansion/Game Pack/Stuff Pack? I mean, not my decision, but our first TS1 EP was Hot Date. I'm pretty sure I got TS2 EPs/SPs in order of release (miss those days of unwrapping a new one every birthday/christmas!).

Who’s your favorite sim that you’ve made? I don't usually get very attached to my first-generation sims, but maybe Evonne Milos, from the gameplay/story hood I accidentally destroyed in four days? Never actually played her, but I had a lot of ideas for a corrupt 'sexpot' politician. x)

Have you made a simself? Lots! 99% of the fun I had playing TS2 as a kid was me and my best friend making ourselves and our respective crushes of the week, and we'd always live in one of those Veronaville lots that was two houses connected by a balcony. I can't even tell you the amount of times she got me pregnant against my wishes whilst I went to the bathroom, lmao.

Which is your favorite EA hair color? For colour consistency, probably brown? But there are a lot of brunettes in Brunwick (must be the name!), so I enjoy the recessives popping up in gameplay. :)

Favorite life stage? Ohhh dude, that's so difficult to answer. They all bring different challenges and dynamics to the household! I feel like I've started to appreciate the child lifestage more since Brunwick has grown large enough to have multiple friendship groups. It's fun watching them goof around with each other and be actual kids, instead of sitting indoors skilling. I really need to build a park! :)

But gameplay-wise, a lot! My early years were probably based around creating stories more than actively playing, but when I did I would just emulate perfect families, attempt legacies, and restart BG hoods over and over. x)

Now I'm all about wants-based gameplay; witnessing and interpreting a story, as opposed to creating one from scratch. But I will add drama if I find my interest waning! x)

12. Was there a scene you wished you could have included? Why didn’t it fit in?

as you can see above, the first meeting scene was longer. it was a bit on those though. i really wanted to keep that little summary of how the public saw paul, but it was clunky when i tried to fit it in the fic. i think a lot of those ideas come through in the subtext of paul's behaviour and it works better that way.

26. Wild Card! I’ll tell you a fun fact about this fic!

started it because i was intrigued by a kink meme prompt about cyn and jane and then i was like, "what if i just make january yuri season"?, and then i started thinking about what other femslash concepts i could do, in a hypothetical scenario where i can write more than one fic a month, and then this idea grabbed me, and held my attention much longer than the cyn/jane one.

I've always been really curious about this from an artist's perspective. But if you're reading a fic,what is it that inspires you to draw a scene from it. Or what makes you want to choose a certain part? I've read alot that I feel like I can almost picture it so I'm really curious what that looks like for someone who can actually just draw it.

Ohhh I love this question.

For me when I’m reading a really well written, descriptive fic I see it play out in my mind like a movie. But what makes a scene stand out to me is usually stuff like a really poignant line of dialogue, or an exceptionally descriptive, emotional scene. Like I prefer drawing either angst or romance, so a scene along those lines will stand out first. Then if it’s a moment that makes my stomach flip or makes me gasp or whatever, that’ll be the parts that stick in my mind and that’ll be what I want to draw. This piece for instance from “In the Heat of the Moment” was because I could picture the ghouls in the van, it’s dark as they head back to the hotel after a ritual, street lamps shining in the windows, and @chapel-of-rizztual described Aeon and Rain’s positions in perfect detail. Then the line “hi pretty boy” just killed me so that settled it that I had to draw it.

As far as actually drawing it though, most of my work I use a photo as a pose reference, so I’ll search for something as close to what I saw in my mind as I can for composition. Sometimes I’ll find an image even better than what I saw in my mind and that’ll change things a bit too. But yeah it basically feels like pausing a movie for a screenshot and then doing a redraw of that screenshot cause it never really turns out like what was in my mind, but it’s got the vibes.

twst: OHHHHHH THERE'S A LOT. but i'll keep it short. again, that one bday vignette line and also people saying that riddle will grow up just like his mother despite the character development he got. that one hurts me so much because again, i had said it many times, i have anger issues myself and one of the many reasons why i like riddle is because of how much i relate to him and because he feels so human and not just. you know. "haha angy boi". so seeing things like "ohhh he should never have children because he will treat them like he was treated when he was little" is so. painful.

milgram: tbh there's so many that my brain just kinda refuses to process them anymore ALSO SINCE THE FANDOM IS KINDA SMALL. I FEEL LIKE ALL THOSE POSTS ARE EASY TO FIND but again i'll keep it short: mahiru is NOT a stalker/kidnapper/etc, stop saying she is, she literally said she's not one and i doubt it was a lie and also hhhhhhh i have my. own opinion about whatever is going on with kazui but i don't wanna go into detail but basically. before he himself said that his crime wasn't related to cheating, there were some people who were like.. very passionate about voting him guilty because he's a cheater and like. i'm sorry this is so funny to me like we have a guy who killed a child and MANY different animals, we have a guy who cyberbullied a teenage girl into committing suicide, MIKOTO, SHIDOU LITERALLY ASKED "WHICH ONE" AFTER HE GOT A QUESTION ABOUT HIS VICTIM(S) and cheating is where you draw the line?? 😭😭 ah and also whoever says that it was his wife's fault <3 i'm in your walls right now.

16. "you can't understand why so many people like this thing (characterization, trope, headcanon, etc)"

twst: HMMMMM LET ME THINK ABOUT IT. okay okay let's see. well, first of all, i'm not a fan of the time loop theory simply because i'm not a fan of time loop tropes in general. i'm pretty sure there was a time (i think it was like.. late 2000's-early 2010's? maybe even earlier) where like ALMOST EVERY SINGLE VISUAL NOVEL, GAME, ANIME, MANGA, ETC (but especially vns), used that trope AND I HATED IT SO MUCH. i love it when time loops are used to make a character go through the same painful event over and over again to completely change their character, but most of the time (haha get it) time loops feel like.. basically it's like writers use them to just explain everything that doesn't exactly make sense in-universe. why does this character say mc looks familiar to them and doesn't elaborate? well that's because they've seen them before in previous loops! why does mc know how this world works even though they've never been there? well that's because time loop! why do these two characters are in love with each other even though they've never even talked? well that's because they were in love in previous loops! i can talk about my hatred for that trope for hours, honestly.

okay, let's talk about characterization. tbh there's not much i can say because.. let's be honest, even though twst characters are definitely deep and interesting and fun, their personalities feel a bit "limited"(?) mostly because of their disney counterparts or because of how strong certain traits of their personalities are. and i'm not complaining.. mostly. i really wish some characters had more personality traits. but what i really hate is when some writers just.. throw away all the "ugly" or "unlikeable" traits of those characters to make them more "imagines-friendly". like i'm sorry, but sometimes i just read some fics and go "he would NOT say that". i know that people love the "OH BUT HE'S NICE TO Y/N" trope, i use it too sometimes, but like.. some people just really forget that this game is about characters who are literally based on disney villains. like it's okay, let them have flaws. and i don't mean those flaws that are like "omg he's so shyyyy >///<" or "hehe he can ramble a lot <3" NO. I MEAN ACTUAL FLAWS.

milgram: it's okay. it's okay guys. i promise it's okay that somebody can't see that character being gay or ships them with someone of an opposite sex. it's okay. and that's coming from someone who has almost no straight ocs.

like, listen, i'm a 0104 shipper. i see their relationship as romantic but i absolutely have nothing against platonic interpretations. but when people see something like ship art and go "muu is literally a lesbian btw" i'm like. i have so many hcs too but it's one thing to say that "hey i think this headcanon is very plausible and i think it's very neat" and to go "IT'S LITERALLY CANON" unironically and not as a joke. like idk, i'm just that kind of person who has lots of headcanons but until i see them actually being confirmed, i won't try to make people change their mind. (and just so you know i'm not trying to deny that she's attracted to girls. she has that vibe and she literally says "i love you" when she sees a girl and her pupils become bigger like?? but come on. it's okay for people to ship her with a male character until she literally says that she's not into boys in canon)

kazui is a whole different thing, i really was interested in the whole "yeah he's gay actually" theory and i love the memes, but now that people are saying it's "officially" canon and lowkey just. kinda being annoying, yeah, i don't even want to look at the tag anymore because i want to see actual theories and i don't want to see another "yeah he's gay so vote him inno". i'm not here to say that it's a dumb reason to forgive him, since we are literally allowed to have all kinds of reasons to forgive a character, but i think it's a weird thing to say when this guy really does seem like a very deep character, but i can't take him seriously anymore because of those theories that don't even sound like theories (and i mean it in a bad way and not bc they sound so canon)

24. "topic that brings up the most rancid discourse"

twst: honestly, this fandom mostly has like.. people-related drama, like this artist/writer/etc did something problematic, things like that. but i think if i had to choose a topic that annoys me the most.. these two topics kinda go together but i'll start with mc's gender. it actually doesn't get discussed that often, since we're supposed to see them as a self-insert, but i've really seen people say things like "mc is obviously supposed to be female" or "mc is obviously supposed to be male", etc.

i'm not going to pretend that i don't have my own opinion and i'm going to say that tbh i see twst mc as being male (one of the reasons why my mc is a guy), but that's mostly just because i usually prefer to play as a guy when it comes to games like that. (honestly if i have a choice, i choose fem mcs very rarely, stelle is like one of the few exceptions) however, i never try to prove why i'm right, i just kinda go "eh you do you". but i'm not gonna lie, those who believe that mc is female are the most annoying ones, like i get it, of course, a large part of twst fandom are women who are attracted to men, but also. there are. so many otome games. no literally a huge reason why i often don't feel comfortable playing otome games is because I HAVE NO IDEA WHY but i really just don't want to play as a girl and i don't want those characters to see my mc as a girl. (i rarely see my mc as a self-insert btw and almost always see them as their own character) LIKE I DON'T KNOW CAN'T PEOPLE WHO SEE THEIR MCS AS MALE/NB HAVE SOMETHING. like i literally love twst and obey me (i really should play it more often but again. my phone doesn't like it and idk if it will run on my tablet) exactly because of how "genderless" their mcs feel and that i can just see them as whatever gender i want them to be. and idk it just.. doesn't feel good when people are trying to remind me that "btw mc is obviously supposed to be a girl" especially when i already kinda know that considering the audience/demographic.

the second topic was probably more popular to discuss when i first got into the game and when it first came out: character x mc or character x character. i was a big character x character enjoyer and didn't really care about character x mc at first until i got interested in riddleyuu and malleyuu. but yeah, watching those sides fight was like. guys you both are losing. like some character x character fans were being mean and hating on self-inserts and some character x mc fans were saying things like "y'all just want more guys to ship". and like. there's nothing wrong with both of those things like calm down. i still can see people arguing because of that, but i just try to ignore them now tbh.

— make my wish come true: i think the story is a lot of fun. i loved wiring all human au but also i just think the characters are are really funny, sweet and well written. i like the jokes i put in the fic and i love their development

— songs that make sense: okay sooo. this one is kind of special because it’s my head canon that gamora carries a lot of guilt. then again, it’s not really a head canon, is it? the movies talk about her guilt, but i don’t think it was mentioned in depth. and because of my headcanon i genuinely believe she feels really guilty for pushing peter to go to ego (and she DID push him, she’s the reason he went), and the fic focuses on her guilt. it’s a fresh take (i haven’t read anything similar on ao3), and it’s a very important perspective (#tome). plus the fic was inspired by a line from castle, and we all know how much i love the show. this fic is a tiny connection between my two favorite fictional worlds <3

— this one means forever: it’s unpublished yet (i’m still writing it) but… i’m so proud. it’s a very special, very emotional (well, hopefully) one shot. if i manage to make the ending as emotional as it is in my head, i will be beyond happy. also the fic is my connection to lucifer, and it’s another tv show that holds a special place in my heart. i can’t wait for everyone to read this story, though im scared to post the link on twitter so i might not even tell anyone, i don’t know.

works i’m least proud of:

— rewrite the stars: just something about it gives me the ick, i can’t even explain it

— road trip fic i’m working on now: just something is so wrong. i’m still wiring and haven’t started editing, but the first draft is terrible. i think i would have to ask friends to read the first few chapters before i post to make sure it’s even readable

a time when writing was really, really hard: i post only when the story is fully written, so if it’s hard then i will just stop writing until i feel better. but posting make my wish come true was so freaking hard, and it was one of the reasons why i left twitter. christmas + anything gotg related messed up with my head a lot, and having a christmas starmora fic was even worse. i took a break from anything gotg and genuinely contemplated deleting make my wish come true. december wasn’t fun </3

who was your greatest positive influence this year as a writer: two things, honestly: support on twt and actual books. i got back into reading and definitely stole some tropes, some situations, and some lines. but also gotg hive. i’m beyond grateful to claire for her support with make my wish come true, as i truly believe she’s the biggest supporter of the fic and she always made me smile with her comments and excitement. also zoe because i still have screenshots from that one evening we talked about the fic, and her support meant so much (again, posting the fic was really hard). and shan, bff ur “seated” tweets made me smile so much.

anything from your real life show up in your writing: i wrote an entire fic about my favorite croissant place so…

Susie is one of the three chosen heroes in the prophecy, and she's pretty much the heart of the team. She's known for her strength, her straightforward attitude, her harsh manners and her strong will. She's also quite perceptive of other people's feelings, actually., but we'll get there later. In town she's a weird girl and seemingly everyone hates her.

Chapter one focuses on her character, and while she is initially reluctant to participate in the adventure and fulfill the role that's placed upon her, she comes to change her mind. She starts off not respecting Kris or Ralsei's opinions, attacks people on sight, and tries to be intimidating to get her way.

Thing is, Lancer admires that of her. And that is what causes Susie to grow. She doesn't change to please anyone else, it's not what she wants to do. People hate her anyways, so why should she do what they want? It won't make a difference. What her friendhsip with Lancer provides is not only acceptance of who she is but also admiration. Susie doesn't have a great ego, quite the contrary. To me it feels like she thought she was unlovable. So any sort of validation is refreshing and welcome.

And all those good feelings come crushing down when Lancer gets the $&% squad in jail, which leads to Susie wanting to get free, and beat her enemies up. But the reason Lancer acted that way was to protect both his friends and his family, knowing that a fight between them was fated. Susie only reconsiders her fighting style once she realizes she doesn't actually want to hurt Lancer because she cares about him, and if she needs to find another way to face the king, she's willing to ask Ralsei and Susie for guidance. She joins the party on her own terms.

Now, looking at these two allows us to see the way Susie acts when she's with people who do want her around. She's not forcing herself to be different for them, she's opening herself to other options, because she understands what's at stakes and her concern overwights her own attitude.

BUT HERE IS WHEN THINGS GET INTERESTING.

You know how Susie puts up this image of a tough girl who will slice you in half if you wrong her? Well, she's totally capable of that, but I don't think she's violent. At least not by her own choice. She's a little harsh, true. But I feel like her more intimidating side is partly a result of the treatment she gets from other people.

Kris is known for being the only human in town, that kind of sets them apart. Susie has a similar reputation too. People say she's rude, she's agressive, loud, a bad project partner, and so on. You know what's really weird? Nobody has seen her beat up someone (this is an MK quote said in ch1 after leaving the dark world iirc). She seems more like a dog that barks but doesn't bite (does that idiom exist in english? whatever).

Most of the things she gets accused of are either rumors or stuff that gets blown out of proportion. One anecdote is that she was lurking around her classmates while they played with a ball, and when it reached her she kicked it, but it went too far and hit Undyne instead, getting the kids in trouble. The assumption is that she did it because she's an asshole because of course she is. But like, the act itself could totally be accidental. I hardly know anyone who's never done something awkward by accident. But when that's your only impression of someone, it gets hard to embrace it.

Now, if you have people who think you're mean, its not uncommon to cope with it by being more intimidating and pushing people away, which is what I think she did. Why should she care about changing people's mind when they won't even treat her right? Yeah, that makes no sense. The only exception is Noelle, annd it's because she's always been kind to her.

She has a strong will and it takes a while for her to admit she can be flexible, but if she wants to, she can decide to change. Lancer presents an option, Kris and Ralsei are there for her to show her how. And she does, and cherishes the good company.

BUT THIS DOESN'T END HERE.

Susie is a key part of Deltarune, and I think she'll play abig part on Kris's arc too. Susie can somehow overwrite our decisions. She is a part of the party as long as she wants to, she won't wear armor she doesn't want, she won't go to certain places and she will take the lead at times, taking Ralsei across the city.

Susie is also quite perceptive. She immediately notices that somethng's off with Kris and Noelle in the weird route. She can tell when Kris isn't being honest, and she's likely aware of what others think of her, which only enforces the way she acts in town. But I think that this perception is what will let her realize the control the player is having over Kris, and through her determination to break the rules, she is the one capable of opposing the player's will. If she has her heart on the right place, which I think she does,

I believe she will be crucial to help Kris and maybe it is because of her actions that Deltarune will have a single end. ´Perhaps the end is that your choices don't matter. It's super likely the Roaring is coming, but regardless of that, Susie will have a set path, and what happens in the end will depend greatly on her.

I 100% understand and validate not wanting people to ship characters, but the fact that this creator has openly mocked people, AGAIN ON MAIN, FULLY ON VIEW, IN THE GENERAL CHATS, for shipping people with at least one specific character, making fun of ships as a whole, and also the creator straight up posted a screenshot of someone's Doors fanart because it was a humanoid variation and they/he/etc. (I apologize universally I can't check discord right now, but I hope one of those was right /gen) blatantly were like "ohhh man I can't wait for people to make shitty humanoid fanart of my characters/ruin my monster characters like this." Again. I wanna emphasize this guy wholeass took a screenshot of someone's art, who probably isn't even aware that it has been sent in this server, visible to a plethora of people, easily searchable and semi-implying its shit. Someone responded negatively and made fun of the art itself which I don't condone or agree with, don't misunderstand me here, but it's kind of fucking clear why they'd come to that conclusion? Like you have a bunch of rabid fans who will do anything for an ounce of approval since you're the creator, right there, making fun of something, so obviously someone might jump and make a shit comment, especially if you were being vague enough that it could look like you WERE shitting on the art. What pisses me off more is the creator immediately spun around and went "dude wtf" (not this part but in tandem w the next, moderation here was good) and was like "I'm not making fun of the art itself, just the concept of humanoid art, plus it's obvious the artist is young." … Bro? Like yeah from what little I recall seeing (though I took a ss) it is likely the artist is young, especially since they're in the Doors fandom, but on the off-chance they're NOT. That makes it even more demeaning because you're basically saying the art could only be "good"/acceptable if it was made by a kid. I don't even know if I have enough space to get into why shitting on people's concepts especially in a fandom that actively makes you so much fanart is pretty ass. Sure, want what you want, limit what you decide to limit, quite literally you own it, but damn! Kind of sucks.

Okay I've definitely spoken too much / added these middle paragraphs which ruins any potential brevity I had before - but I also just remembered in regard to the shipping stuff (which again lowkey valid at times) that dude straight up mentioned that someone / some "girl" or smthn made a character x insert fanart already, again, mockingly, and they/he/??? said "I'm not gonna say her name, but it's posted here lol" ?? DAWG??? What the fuck is your problem, holy shit! I would not be shocked if this fandom turned into a bandwagon adjacent one. Sure, it won't be a shipping war, but it'll still be a fandom war/people willing to attack others over fandom related stuff. I don't care if it sounds childish, and I don't think it's so much of me to wonder why people can't just be nicer. Idgaf if it's "the internet", people have lost any sense of basic decency and respect. And no, I'm not gonna come out here and drop names, drop the game, start "canceling" or wtvr, truly I think that kind of shit is stupid and the exact thing I go against. Besides ULTRAKILL will always be my interest of joy. Sure, there are other ones that can rival my clinical insanity for this game, but I really do think I'm definitely one of the very silliest people about this thing. And I do not say that to make myself sound sooo better and sooo cool. I'm not! That and also I absolutely am pig excrement compared to those speedrunners (holay molay.. praying I reach that level of excellency or at least somewhere close).

Besides, at the end of the day if no one else has my back (though I know my sibling always will, love you pookie <3 /goofy) I know I do. It's the literal reason I have become a fragmented consciousness. How horrible it was to deal with those things and traumas on my own that my mind had to go inwards so the outwards could not reach who I am today. And that does hurt, it does, but I will always love those parts of me and I will always try to be kind, because even if they act out or put me in painful situations, I know they're trying their best just as much as I am.

Anywho, perhaps we'll start signing off on these. But with no shade to V1, or the rest of the system, we really suck at consistency. It's why our journals have stuttering date variations in them.

Honestly I will not make this a habit, but this place is in some sense my personal diary now so !

I am a bit upset? I do not shame or gatekeep others for having similar interests or being insanely passionate (i.e "number one fan of xyz"), but seeing someone in a server I am in was a bit of a jumpscare! But also in some sense good, I think. Wake-up call of sorts, and I don't say that just to cope or remove the feelings from it.

I really like this myth/lore/horror (whatever you'd like to call it, haha) game. And it wasn't unpopular before per se, but especially over the past month/since its full release, it has been EXTREMELY popular. We're talking double-digit thousands (10k, 20k, you get the point). And I saw someone who.. I don't really find myself using the word "lore" for people anymore, it feels kind of icky. At least, for more mundane or truly not like. TRAUMATIC traumatic situations. Do some of these things scar my mind? Yes. Most things in life do, in technicality, butterfly effect, unpredictable outcomes, whatever. I had to let this callus my mind. I still feel weak, worthless, pathetic, cruel, etc. But I know I am not those things, and again, in some very weird way the initial thing before the server-seeing event really helped me begin my progress on my backbone, and actually feel like I can truly believe in myself.

Anywho, I struggle to stay on track, it's a very apparent thing with me that my mind has multiple railroad systems (hah! no pun intended though) going on at the same time. It scared me! I got a little nervous. I got anxious. And all the built-up positive energy (which was already a bit of an iffy thing) came down. Even now, I woke up feeling a bit of sorrow. But I do not hate myself, still. It does hurt, but I am finally at a point where I am doing my best to allow myself to feel these things and process this hurt while also not using my wishes (be it well or not), energy, mental rooming, etc. on these people involved, or anyone as a whole in my past who likely does not enjoy my continuing existence. I felt jealous, almost, for a second. But I do not think it was because of any posted art, but I think just as a whole. The concept of sharing something I love so deeply and devote a lot of time to. The thing that I want to be one of the number one fans of. I am still trying to accept though that there will always be a person better, more devoted, more obsessive, etc. at something than I likely will. Sure, I can become one of those. But I do not think it ought to be for this, especially since it has negatively impacted me a bit at times / controlled my emotions some (prior to this incident. They do not control me that much, my friends!).

Also, tbf… the creator + the currently morphing fandom are like. Really fucking foul at times. Like yeah dude can ban whoever he/they/? want but it's pretty damn wild that if you post chit-chat in the channel (granted they said not to) you get immediately banned. And see, that alone I wouldn't give really a rats backend about - it's the fact that the fandom and creator revel in it and so many people continued dog-piling and mocking people, I swear I've never seen the words "lacking media literacy/lack reading comprehension" be run into the ground so fast it looked like 65% of the channel was pure spam. Like… damn? I know the internet sucks (and someday I ought to go on a tangent about why the phrase/saying "it's just the internet, get used to it/get over it/why don't you expect it?" is stupid, harmful, and excusing bad behavior and denouncing any form of accountable and perpetuating people to get away, but I digress..)

Anyway! Now that we’re finally past that large wall of dialogue... some miscellaneous updates during our quick visit to Nautical Cottage.

Er... well, actually, it wasn’t a quick visit. I’ve had a problem for a while now. At the Silver Rank, your storage capacity is only 200 items. And these dungeons have been so overloaded with goodies that, frankly, I ran out of storage space during the last chapter. So you know how they won’t let you deposit anything if the storage is full? Well, what do you do when your bag is full, too?

I tell you what: you sell or toss one item, take one out, sell it, rinse and repeat several times... Even after selling all the duplicates, I kept getting pushed to the limit. Prize ticket exchanges only did so much. I couldn’t go on like this.

So I glanced at how many points I needed for the Gold Rank. It was something like 960.

I took a deep breath. And decided to power through requests for the next several in-game days. What follows is a brief collection of highlights.

The Manaphy Egg?! HELLO?!

I picked it up for novelty’s sake. But it can’t be put into storage. It can’t be sold. You can give it to someone, but it doesn’t do anything. There’s no way to use it. All it does is take up a slot in your bag. So with a heavy heart, I ended up tossing it.

OOOOOOOO!! Our first Egg!

So when an Egg hatches, it draws from the pool of enemy Pokémon in the last dungeon you visited. In the base game, this gives you a rough idea of what to expect. In the randomizer though? Every floors has a completely different pool of Pokémon. So the possibilities are much more varied. It could be literally anything (that was in the dungeon, anyway).

It didn’t hatch before we finally left for Questionable Causeway though... stay tuned for updates!

Team Heavenly received their first recruit from the juice bar! We already have Barboach, but I said yes anyway.

Second: I’m going to be honest... Out of all my years playing this game, I have never received a job request like this before. I don’t know what dungeon the “Cold Earthworks” is supposed to be. I didn’t even know the Dragonite Scale was an obtainable item until recently. (For those wondering, it’s basically a Heal Seed.) I was super tempted to go just to see what this was all about. But it’s only a C Rank job and I didn’t want to waste any more time than I had to ranking up. I might do it after the trap is set at Crystal Lake though.

sweet woman was commissioned by a super classy french dessert restaurant called the orgueilleux pâtisserie [orgueilleux being very poorly google translated french for elitist/snobbish lmao], acting as both a chef and a mascot! the gimmick worked wonders for the restaurant's popularity, with rich people coming in droves to experience the novelty of food prepared with a robot master's help, and she was quickly promoted to social media manager as well as her original duties. despite her cutesy demeanour, she's much smarter than she looks, and is equipped with an in-depth understanding of chemical reactions and inhumanly accurate sense of timing and spatial awareness. she knows hundreds of recipes and most of them cost several hundred dollars to make

her personality is more deliberately engineered than most robot masters, designed to fit her appearance and be marketable. she's unwaveringly cheerful, incredibly extroverted, and just silly enough that it's cute rather than grating. she plays these traits up a lot for the cameras, exaggerating her energy and playing dumb when it'll appeal to the masses, but even when she doesn't have her public image to consider she's a bubbly and energetic goof. she's a stubborn optimist, and if she can't find a bright side to look on she'll take out a flashlight and make one. her optimisim makes for a good workplace morale boost and an even better social media presence, although when combined with her ditziness and being a bit out of touch from almost exclusively interacting with the 1% it often makes her come across as insensitive

since she's in the spotlight a lot, most of sweet's hobbies and interests outside of work are still carefully selected to match her public image and look good on an instagram post. she has a passing interest in shopping and fashion, and enjoys going to parties and gatherings and what have you to meet new people. she also loves to experiment with cooking and come up with new recipes, some of which end up on the orgueilleux menu. she does, however, have a private interest in chemistry! as mentioned earlier she knows a fair bit about it already, since cooking is just chemistry with a restricted set of substances, and in her own time she ended up getting curious and reading into the sort of reactions that arise from chemicals she doesn't work with. she rarely mentions this interest herself, but she gets super excited if someone brings it up or gives her the excuse to talk about it, and it's probably listed as super secret trivia about her on the pâtisserie website

unlike other robot masters, sweet has an acute sense of both smell and taste! [since robots seem to only use e-tanks for fuel, there's not much benefit to smelling or tasting things, so i personally believe that most of them don't have those senses unless it'd directly benefit their job.] being able to actually taste the food she cooks makes it much easier to tell if she's doing it right, especially if she's trying to come up with something new. she's also capable of replenishing her energy by eating - it's less efficient than e-tanks, but she thinks they taste gross so she always opts for actual food. fittingly, she has a massive sweet tooth, but she's accustomed to only the highest-class dining and dislikes cheaper or less 'refined' tastes

her magical girl vibe, brought to you by someone who has watched maybe 4 episodes of anime that weren't sonic x, is entirely an aesthetic and marketing gimmick rather than serving any functional purpose. she'll play it up for promotional videos and photoshoots, twirling her fork-trident thing and striking dramatic poses and calling out thematically appropriate attack names like 'sparkling sugar swirl' and 'cinnamon whirlwind' whenever she does anything, but it's mostly for show. while she genuinely enjoys the shouting and posing and twirling, she massively tones it down when she's not performing, maybe occasionally saying an attack name at a reasonable volume while she works. her fork-trident thing isn't even a real weapon, magical or otherwise. it's just styrofoam with metallic paint on it

sweet's weakness to harpoon shot was decided before i figured out exactly what tide man's weapon would be, going on the idea that getting food wet tends to make it sad and gross. this logic doesn't quite carry over with harpoon shot being, well, a harpoon rather than something specifically water-based, but i imagine shooting a cake with a harpoon would also be a very one-sided battle so this weapon wheel makes sense i promise. i guess you could also make the argument that it's because sweet is only experienced with a fake pronged weapon made of foam and would be completely blindsided by a real one? maybe it's that tide is so staunchly anticapitalist that his weapon inherently vibe checks her? i'm grasping at straws a bit over here but listen, if mega man 5 can insist that water is elementally weak to trains, i can insist that it's elementally strong against the french

i think her stage could be some kind of factory! lots of conveyer belts definitely, maybe some crushing hazards, definitely a few mets. the idea there is that she's seized a major food processing plant and is using that position to wreck the regional supply chain. even when she's evil, she basically keeps the exact same personality she shows to the public with only a noticable capitalism upgrade. she has pretty much no combat abilities on her own, but at her own suggestion she was upgraded to shoot a specially formulated icing that's acidic enough to burn through thin metal, finally putting her interest in chemistry to use. her fork-trident, on the other hand, was not changed in the slightest. still just styrofoam. i think it'd be pretty good if she opened her battle with it but even if it hits mega man it only deals one point of damage and the second it touches something it snaps in half and she never pulls out a new one

designing sweet was pretty fun because she's pretty different from my usual taste in character design! my experience with the magical girl genre is that i read about half of sailor moon when i was 12 and absorbed everything else through pop culture osmosis and tv tropes pages, so it was definitely fun to draw what i think a magical girl might look like. i also don't use oranges and yellows much, so picking out her colours made for an agonising exciting challenge! she didn't change too much from the initial microsoft paint sketch, although she lost a skirt layer along the way because i didn't feel like figuring out how to draw another one, and her weapon was originally just a big fork that probably would have been a ksjfjhkjhfillion times less cumbersome to draw. oh well. live and learn [HANGIN ON THE EDGE OF TOMORROW]

Oohh, yes and no? So, lemme set the scene here.

It's May, 2012. You have a 14-year-old girl. Just about to go into high school. For various (and non-nefarious) reasons, she is stuck in the basement floor of a farmhouse 24/7, a forty-minute drive away from the nearest city, a twelve hour drive from her nearest friends. She is...oh so bored.

But! Her saving grace! Her father is an idiot who pays for a shitload of subscription services on his basement television, and he uses it about once a week. She has access to the remote. >:)

So, what does this magic obsessed 14-year-old do? She binges. Everything. Classic star trek. Classic doctor who. New doctor who. Charmed. The OG Teen Wolf movies. Kyle XY. Smallville. Fuck dude, she even watches like a full season of Switched at Birth, and three episodes of Pretty Little Liars. Then what does she find? A cringey looking teen drama called Teen Wolf, with the prettiest brunette in the teaser screenshot, which coincidentally has the same as those movies she watched. But clearly, they cannot be the same thing or even a reboot, bc this looks fucking dumb.

But she watches it anyway. There's exactly 1 season out. The main character bugs the shit out of her, for no reason she can find besides she hates his floofy hair (I knew about fifty guys with that hair, and let me tell you I was fucking sick of it). The majority of the characters are ripped, which she doesn't care about, as she's got a friend the same age who is JUST as ripped, so she doesn't see it as weird. They keep trying to have sex on screen, and she is just SO confused about what is sexy when there's a bleeding man waiting on you. There's this really scrawny side character who has ADHD, and holy shit she's never seen someone HAVE ADHD on television before. He acts just like her when she's feeling bouncy. She is enamored immediately. The pretty boy from the screenshot is a tall, broody, grim-dark butthead with a leather jacket and the cutest fuckin fangs. Nuff said. She is enamored immediately.

But what's this? The season is over. Broody Boy has these gorgeous red eyes and a new rumbly voice that makes her hum it's so nice, Scrawny Boy has revealed his badassery through molotov cocktails and gaining the begrudging respect of his high school bully. Floofy boy is...kissing the girl who tried to kill him. She's still confused on that one, but they look happy, so yay. With the season over, having been binged in a literal day (yes. i watched it for almost twelve hours straight and my eyes burned. This was nothing new), she sighs, daydreams for a little while (read: three days) about how fucking awesome pack cuddles would be, bc werewolves, and then runs off to write her own werewolf story that is completely and totally different to the show (It isn't, there are weird similarities, cus' she's 14 and an idiot, but she fuckin tried) and immediately forgets the show exists. Skip forward about ohhh fuck when was it? four years? five? It's like 2016-2017, okay? Possibly 2018. I have a shit memory. i kno i was in college. Ya girl's on the webs, tippy tapping. She wanders across Teen Wolf, and BOOM it's either finished or almost finished, all she knows is everyone's FREAKING OUT about seeing the finale. She rewatches s1 for the nostalgia....and just keeps hitting that 'next episode' button. THen, she starts having opinions. Boyd and Erica and Isaac deserve hugs. Derek deserves hugs. Stiles deserves hugs. Scot is...there. not bad, not good, but there.

So, she sits down in 2018 at this fancy new website called Ao3 that she's only just started posting semi-regularly on (and it's Doctor Who fic), and writes out a little fic called "Needed." Suddenly she is IMMERSED in fandom. Chatting to people in the comments, looking stuff up on tumblr, creating a whole side-blog. It's not just a slippery slope, she fell off a cliff and landed in a pile of Stereky Goodness, and man, she has no intention of digging her way out. So, yeah, I wasn't in fandom, but I was a fan, for all of like a week before i forgot it existed. Then when I came back it'd either just ended or was about to end, and I hate watching Currently Running shows bc I hate waiting for new episodes, so I refused to look at any current fandom stuff until it was well over and done with. And then, I joined fandom properly.

Cabinetkillerz seems to support people that go against their own morals as long as they hate you and are benefiting “them”

Example: licoricemeat is racist asf making a post about a ghost racial, calling you white and saying you hate poc not to mention that user was out of fucking line disregarding your safety and using your abuse and doxxing as a way to gaslight you, the only person that made that post racial was them

Example 2: when she was talking to that transmed that hated you “sugariibootz” or something like that, it seemed they had no problem with those transmeds as long as they dragged your name and harassed you as well

Okay I do want to talk about milo, milo was someone who claimed they where a trans man (she was 12 at the time) we found screenshots of her in a dm admitting to this not being true not because they where a tucute because they literally didn’t know the definition of the word gender dysphoria when I said it, but because they admitted it to their “internet girlfriend” in a private dm, her “girlfriend” broke up with her because she kept bullying her and pestering her for nudes and that’s when she told us

loving those gifs and animations! dude, the -d e t a i l s- on his hands! and the beauty mark below the eye! and Rosie has it too ;_; you know, I really appreciate that Ethan is not manly man square jawed bearded broad shouldered bulky man (not that they can't look like that, but re has a lot of those bc they're all military), but has softer features (and long eyelashes, have you seen those? i'm jelly) like he really reflects the 'I'm an everyday guy working with computers pls let me go pay my taxes'. also also it REALLY looks like those steps are his last, the trembling on his knees showing the pained effort he's putting into getting one foot in front of the other trying not to lose his balance ahh (whump heart is content)

There's so much detail, and some of it I didn't even show! Like if you go super close to his hoodie, you actually see the freaking knitting pattern! Same with the (barely even visible under normal circumstances) t-shirt he wears inside the hoodie! I'll have to take a screenshot from that as well, because I am just amazed with the amount of effort they put into it.

And yeah, I think his face reflects his entire existence in the game, it doesn't have to be rough and tough and badass... He's a normal dude without something particularly special about him... And honestly that makes him more relatable, easier to attach to, and way less intimidating than other protagonists. With many other games, most of the time I'm like "Oh Big Protagonist Time" and I can't really feel like I'm going through this with them. Badass protagonists work as characters in the way of like, a fantasy, where we imagine ourselves being as badass and awesome as they are. I know the game developers have said that we're supposed to step into Ethan's shoes, but for me it's way more of being next to him in all of this. It's not "imagining myself as this badass character" it's "I am experiencing this and this random dude with guns is by my side". Probably because Ethan, being a normal dude who didn't ask for this, I feel that he'd need a companion for at least emotional support. Well, I'd be that for him 😆

And yeah his face just... Looks so everyday-like, as you said, I can imagine him as he is going off to pay his taxes, not slaughter an entire village full of bioweapons. And I find that fantastic. They've done an amazing job with Ethan.

Those lashes... I was about to comment of them. I'm so jealous of them too. So pretty 😍

This animation is definitely from his last moments. I think it's when he's crossing the bridge back to the Megamycete, right before we see from his pov again. There's that tiny moment of staggering, where he quickly puts his right foot in front because he looks ready to fall, and I feel like his entire body reacts to it. Like, that instinctive reaction where your hands jerk in front of you, to protect your body and soften the fall in case you drop? But his hands in that moment... one has almost completely crumbled to dust, the other has only three fingers and is even holding the detonator. It feels like his arms are going for the movement to soften his fall, but his hands are not in the position to do so so his legs have to do the job... Ohhh it's so fucking GOOD and I'm SO FREAKING HAPPY we get the chance to actually see this! Whump need satisfied indeed!!

Extra notes + opinions below

1. Suicide Romantics - oh, ohohoho I love this song (obviously). The emotion in it all makes up for how quiet and a little empty it is for most of the song. And then it all kicks in at the end and every feeling from before is amplified 500% and it's PERFECT. Overall, very pretty emotional song and the final chorus convinced me that heaven is real and Des Rocs is our God.

2. Wayne - I'm still not quite sure if this counts as one of his more chaotic songs or not, but whatever it is, it's AMAZING. Originally the little talking bit before the chorus sorta pushed me away from it but it's grown on me and now I absolutely love it. Such high energy, I really like the rhyming in this song. I also can't stop singing the intro, it's becoming a problem.

3. Ruby With The Sharpest Lies - I have so much respect for this song. It sets out it's energy right at the start and sticks with it the whole song, and it works so well (I'm not able to write music that does that without it sounding plain or tiring, but maybe that's just my own problem). Just like Wayne, it's super addictive, I find myself idly singing it a lot because it stays stuck in my head for hours. Also, it's the only song on my playlist of songs that make me feel like a king.

4. MMC - Once upon a time there was a little bitch who stared at the Des Rocs profile on Spotify, just wanting to take a screenshot for a little joke, but his curiousity got the best of him. And there he was, listening to the chorus of this song and falling in love. I don't think Spotify could have picked a better song for me to be introduced with, its a perfect mix of my music tastes and Des' sound. Its mostly in S tier because of personal attachment. It's a lovely song, but the verses feel a little underwhelming and the change to the bridge can be a little jarring sometimes, but those are very small problems.

5. Give me the Night - Yeah, this song is pretty damn repetitive, but it's so funky... I really enjoy some of his more upbeat sounding sounds and this is a clear example. I can't help but dance when I hear this song, even if it's just a little squirm or something. The verses feel a little plain instrumental-wise but I really enjoy the vocals!!

6. This is our Life - Here's another song that impresses me with how it's together. The energy in the chorus and verses feel so different from each other but it ties together so well and..yea I'm not sure what else to say. Oh yeah, it's also got my favorite music video, mostly because of the awesome action but there's always extra points for floaty crown :)

7. Why Why Why - There are a couple songs that I feel define what Des Rocs' sound is to me, and this is one of them, a Des-sential if you will (I'll point out the others when I get to them). This song has so much happening in it, every sound weaving together to create such a cool, dark aesthetic. In contrast to what I just said, it's one of the few Des Rocs songs that make me laugh because no. I cannot feel it. Please leave my house.

8. Hanging By A Thread - ohhh this song makes me feel all warm and fuzzy, which is what I'm sure it was set out to do. It's a sweet mix of love and sadness, it's one of those songs where it actually feels like the words are being sung to me (that doesn't sound weird does it). The chorus does lose its shine eventually but it's not song-ruining, it just feels a little more meh after that.

9. Nothing Personal - This was actually a consideration for the S tier- the music is fucking awesome and it has one of, if not the best chorus. The only issue that brought it down here is oh it gets a little too creepy for my weak self. The piano at the end made me feel things I'd never felt before and I never wanna feel again (but sometimes sacrifices must be made).

10. Let Me Live/Let Me Die - Here's another Des-sential, the guitar in this one pats my brain in a very nice way if that makes sense, and the verses are really really great. The bridge is also nice in a weird way..(I dunno it's 11 PM while I'm writing this one). At the very end it feels a bit too chaotic for my brain to keep up with...it's definitely more of a background noise song in my opinion.

11. POS - High energy, does what it sets out to do, and sounds like worlds best boss theme while doing it. The song itself is real short but it's all packed up well, if not a little cramped feeling.

12. Maybe, I - I'm guessing most of my love for this song comes from the chorus, because while the verses are heavenly lyric wise, it only accomplishes so much with how plain they are. Even then it all ties together to create a wonderful feeling in a song.

13. Imaginary Friends - The verses and choruses...if you handed them to me individually I'd absolutely tell you they would not work well together, but via the magic called Des Rocs it actually works decently well. It feels a little rough around the edges and awkward but I think that fits just fine with the song, or at least how I interpret the song. I do wish there was more in it, what it's got is just fine but there's a bit of wasted potential that crawls through if I listen to it too much.

14. Tick - Okay, yeah, it's only this high up for the last chorus. The first half of the song is so shake-y and it feels like its trying a bit too hard to be a des rocs song, but the last chorus kicks in and makes me fall in love. Something about how the notes are held is just lovely and how it feels so much more confident than the first chorus...call that musical character development. Oh yeah this song makes me laugh too. It's funny to have someone tell you to fuck off while you're doing your school work.

15. Don't Hurt Me - I've got two main problems with this, and neither are too major. 1. It feels so unlike Des' music that it's pretty jarring and 2. Eh I don't like the bridge. Besides that, Don't Hurt Me is real good. The lines "I picked stars and stones, one hurts and one glows" gets my mind all happy because as a lil thing who grew up with the wonderful imagery of Owl City's songs, anything that even slightly reminds me of it gets me happy.

16. Used to the Darkness - This is also a song that keeps its energy smooth and steady through the whole song, but unlike Ruby, it doesn't stay up as well. I'm not a fan of the bridge and the last chorus is..meh. But while it's still got it's shine, it's pretty good.

17. Dead Ringer - woo hoo Des-sential number 3! There's not much I can say about this song either, really. It's a good time with a really catchy chorus. I just wish the bridge had more in it.

18. The Devil Inside - Trust me, I wanted to make some kind of joke but I couldn't think of anything good so y'all are safe. This song just kinda hops around everywhere with its sound and chaotic levels, quite a good ride if not a bit uncomfortable at times. I do really like when the (whatever it is) joins in the last chorus.

19. Born To Lose - This song shares a problem with Don't Hurt Me because it also feels so far off from Des Rocs' sound that it's a bit uncomfortable. But with Born To Lose you can hear them trying to keep some of the regular vibe in there and it just.. doesn't work well in my opinion. Most of the song is just fine and I can really enjoy the chorus sometimes but the little deep bit after the chorus annoys me to no end.

20. SLO - This is weird to rank so low since its been stuck in my head..I just have some trouble keeping up with song. It's real groovy and gets me moving but the flow of it gets me lost quickly. I'm also not much of a fan of when it speeds up towards the end, but that might just be because irony. Ohh my mind keeps connecting this song to my buddy @bridgeandtunnelblues for some reason so that makes me smile a bit whenever I hear it :)

21. Pieces - okay this one's also a bit weird to write but at the moment this is the song that's sorta sticking in my head. The music is pretty good, but something about the singing...ugh it's just strangely unsatisfying. I also usually like the crunchiness in his sound but in here I find it adds to the irritation, but I guess sometimes I can push that aside and like the songs addictiveness take over my brain. Also something about "this is the way it always works" just kind of boops my brain in a weird way, and I say that positively.

22. The Past Has Passed Away - okay looking at the tierlist again, and having listened to the songs a couple more times I decided I'm changing the way the order is for the D tier here. Sorry if that's confusing. I feel like this song is just Give Me The Night but without the flavor. It's got the danceable, high energy verses (I have squirmed to it a few times) that I love but it's the chorus that feels like the low point. You also hear the song title said so many times that it gets tiring..

23. Living Proof - okay okay, I really like the pre-chorus. Like, I REALLY like it, it's got such a good feeling in it and carries such potential but the chorus just does not follow up as well as I'd hope. It sounds like something I'd write when I was like 9 or 10, it just sort of brings it down for me. That's a really personal issue though so I'd understand someone ranking it high up.

24. HVY MTL DRMR - The verses are pretty good, but everything else is just really empty and nothing special. It's so mediocre that it hurts a bit...I do think it could be redone or something just to add something interesting to the chorus, but until then we're stuck with what we've got I guess.

25. Outta My Mind - the instrumental is just fine, if not a little uninteresting, it's the singing that really ticks (haha) me off. Too repetitive for my boring lil brain, and the verses aren't anything special either. It's just as mediocre as HVY MTL DRMR but it loses points for repetitiveness.

26. Rabbit Hole - If this was any other tier list, this would probably be in C or D tier but in a Des Rocs tier list? Definitely an F. It's way too quiet and empty for the whole song with pretty much no build up to anything...even when some guitar or whatever comes in at the end, it doesn't feel "deserved" if that makes sense... The nicest I can say is that the chorus is a bit enjoyable if I ignore the rest of the song.

27. I Know - my god this song is a flop. I hate how much potential I see in here because it doesn't manage to use any of it. Most of the song is just some sound abomination until the end where I can tell they were trying to do something interesting but it does NOT work...whatever they were trying to with this is REALLY hope he tries again at some point but this just does not fulfill its purpose.
