Team Ro would have memories of the canon and they got to this different timeline and there's Tobirama actively trying to seduce Uchiha fucking Madara. They didn't teach THAT in the Academy

They got in the time when Tobirama still orchestrated meetings, but Butsuma is already dead so if everything goes well, Tobirama would get Madara and peace soon.

And then there suddenly spawn a Hatake with a sharingan with 2 Uchiha kids and a Mokuton user. Political nightmare.

Later Tobirama recognises Kakashi and was like "The fuck? It's that Hatake from the war. What is he doing there, he should not have been born yet!!"

If we go with your au, there's a really interesting immediate aspect of like: hey ! Tobirama might recognize Kakashi or maybe even Tenzo from the war, but these guys are way fucking younger than when they met !!!

Idk what exactly can be done with that but it's interesting to consider. Also Tobirama talked ab Itachi and his crimes before I'm p sure? So like he knows what happens to the Uchiha and that it was Itachi who did it for the village. I wanna see him faced w the kid who he once praised for slaughtering his own clan to prove his loyalty.

I wanna see him feel the consequences of the stress Itachi is under when he (and possibly Shisui) attempt to kill Madara.

Stop interfering with his fix it fic you brats!! He's already got it covered!! You're just causing a mess!!!!

They get zapped in, like, in the middle of Tobirama's happy ending epilogue too. Tobirama is peacefully eating dinner in his house w his new husband Madara thinking "well. Alls well that ends well." Then BOOM Kakashi Shisui Itachi and Tenzo crash out of fucking nowhere directly onto their table, getting covered in food and breaking the table in half

Immediatley arrested !! I feel like Tobirama would instantly understand what happened by recognizing their uniforms + potentially Kakashi + he's already a time traveler himself so it's really no stretch for him to go "oh fuck I didn't think we'd get a double jepordy in this bitch but I guess not"

But like it's not like he can just SAY that ? Or he could but it would bring a lot of questions he probably does not want to answer.

Now another problem arises in like. I don't think Tobirama is especially attached to any of these guys. I can see him maybe having a lingering "pay it forward ig" feeling just bc they're "loyal konoha soldiers" and it'd be a waste to let that resource just burn. But also like. Under no circumstances can Tobirama have these guys share certain aspects of future knowledge.

Tobirama worked so hard to get here !!!! Literal years of planning !!!! He got his happy ending and it very much rests on Madara staying safe and sane and NO ONE IMPLYING HE WILL BETRAY KONOHA EVER !!!!! Tobirama does not even wanna RISK that becoming a rumor, he will take no chances.

Anyways I think his best course of action would be to reveal himself as a time traveler specifically to team ro, then position himself as their hokage who they should remain loyal to, say that it is for Konoha's best interests that they do not reveal certain things, and play it by ear from there.

Tobirama deciding he can't risk team ro going forward in time again and potentially fucking up the time stream or smthn. They need to stay here. He can not risk losing this shit. Sorry guys it looks like your trapped here <3

Anyways uhh. Izuna gets Itachi to help him be skeptical of Tobirama and spy on him. Itachi only agrees bc he violently reminds him of Sasuke (this will develop into a complex if not stopped. Shisui is working on it.)

Part 1

Ex-Boyfriend Nanami who calmed down when he got the news that you are stable from Shoko. He was about to go to your room when Gojo spoke to him, “Heh. Nanamin! You better hurry, it looks like she has a visitor.” Then tapped his shoulders.

Ex-Boyfriend Nanami who got confused by Gojo’s comment because it was him who stayed by your side for 2 days now in the hospital – waiting for you to wake up. When he got to your room, a tall man that he doesn’t recognize was hovering over you and you were laughing with him. You look so happy – smiling from ear to ear. Is he your boyfriend? And when did you wake up? He was supposed to be the first one you see when you do. Nanami didn't even realize that his jaw was clenching and his fists were turning to a ball.

Ex-Boyfriend Nanami who fixed his glasses and turned away from your room. He better get back to work – stop wasting time, he thought. I guess he expected something from what you said to him before you passed out in his arms.

“Nanami-san, it’s always going to be you. I lo—”

Ex-Boyfriend Nanami who’s trying to forget what you said last to him and how it made him feel. His thoughts were interrupted when you knocked on his office door. He was surprised you went to see him.

Nanami chuckled, “Yeah, you don't have a great record of following instructions.” You were surprised at his gesture because he ‘lovingly’ caressed your top of head like what he did when you were together – it means ‘don’t worry, I’ll always protect you’.

Ex-Boyfriend Nanami who was also taken aback by his gesture so he put his hands down immediately and now you were awkwardly staring at each other. He wanted to bring up the words you said to him that night but he was afraid that it was just adrenaline talking. You smiled at his response, “Yeah, don’t worry, next time we partnered up again, I’ll listen to you, captain.” you jokingly did the sergeant sign, “Anyway, I’m going back to Kyoto tonight. I’m really thankful for what you did. If it weren't for you, I wouldn't be here.”

Ex-Boyfriend Nanami whose heart felt a pang when you said you’re leaving, “Don’t worry about it. I'm just glad you're safe.” You nodded at him and turned to leave. But Nanami, held your hand so you faced him, “Huh? Is there a problem?” A lot, he thought.

Ex-Boyfriend Nanami who cleared his throat and asked, “Uhm, are you going back to Kyoto for someone?” He was searching the answer from your eyes, “Uh, my students?” you really didn't understand what his question was.

“Ah, I see… I just thought that… Uhm, I saw someone visited you in the hospital and…” His ears were a bit red...You cackled in his face, oh my god, so that's what he wants to know, “Ahhhhhh! That was Ken, he used to be a Jujutsu sorcerer but left because it wasn't really for him, and also his type is the same as mine…” Nanami had ‘???’ plastered in his face, “Oh my gosh, Nanami-san! He also likes guys.. He’s gay….”

Ex-Boyfriend Nanami who was now red on his face as well but was relieved with your answer, “Ohhh, I see. Uhm so are you seeing someone?”

“No.” Fuck, you answered too fast, “Uhm, what I meant was, uhm..”

Ex-Boyfriend Nanami who put his other hand on the wall – trapping you and whispered, “Stop lying, Y/N” You closed your eyes as you felt those words in your spine – holy shit! He still had this effect on you. You swallowed your thick saliva, “Uhm, K-Kento…” now your other hand was on his chest.

Ex-Boyfriend Nanami who’s heart started to race more when he heard his first name escape your lips and his mind went crazy when he felt your soft touch. He missed you so much – you have no idea. You were looking at each other so intensely that a knife can cut through it. He lowers his face closer to yours and you can feel his hot breath. Fuck, you keep swallowing your saliva.

Ex-Boyfriend Nanami who can't contain his feelings anymore and put his lips onto yours – he was grateful that you were returning his kiss. At first, it was slow and sensual that you can feel all your feelings coming back – not that it ever left anyway. Now, both of your hands are entangled on his neck and his was on your waist. He was kissing you so hungrily now like he was trying to make up for all the years he lost you.

Both of you were panting and broke the kiss for some air. You both laughed because the kiss made you two realize that nothing really changed between the two of you except your maturity and physical appearance.

Basically Pokémon Arven meeting a friendly Mandela catalogue Alternative Reader/Y/n who has a team of a grumpy Gengar yet affectionate,a motherly yet quickly protective Houndoom and a Cheerful and Innocent Mimikyu.Primarily they were the Pokémon of a Bad trainer who didn’t treat them well and well generally other people so Reader basically decided “say goodbye to your free trial of life” and basically takes theyre identity and Pokémon so they can have a better life? :D

As an Alternate living in the Pokémon world, you were always searching for a target. Someone's identity to steal.

Of course, this was no easy task...considering certain Pokémon types were attuned to their trainer's emotions (especially psychic and fairy types).

So they'd know right away if anything changed about their personalities and overall "energy".

One day, you see a boy with platinum-blond hair challenging some kid who looked rather mean, especially when they yelled at their own Pokémon, tearing them down rather than lifting them up.

"Stop whining, Mimikyu. I'm not wasting a burn heal on you just because you missed the Play Rough! You had a 90% chance of hitting that stupid pepper and you blew it!"

"Hey. Yelling at your Pokémon isn't gonna win you this fight." The boy starts, giving his Scovillain a healing potion. "I'll give you this turn to do the right thing..or else that burn is gonna knock it out-"

"Don't tell me what to do! We're gonna power through this and win!!"

But as you see...that trainer's arrogance becomes their downfall as Mimikyu attacked but didn't do enough damage, eventually fainting from the stress and the lingering burn effect.

The battle drags on as they bring out Gengar next, who manages to take down his Pokémon in one hit. But as their trainer cheers, the ghost's grimace becomes a happy smile as they try hugging them to celebrate--

Only to be pushed away roughly.

"Get off me! I don't want your Lick to paralyze me!"

Your anger slowly grows when you see how sad Gengar looks...and you begin festering empathy for these innocent creatures.

The last one sent out is a Houndoom who goes in and attacks, effortlessly taking down another one of the boy's (whose name you learned was "Arven" by this point) Pokémon.

Yet she didn't drink up the praise her trainer gave, instead sending them a cold glare that they returned in kind.

"What? If you're gonna be ungrateful, then go back in your pokeball, bitch....why are you growling?! Technically you're a female dog and I'm using the right term!"

That's the final straw for you.

And the moment you settled on a good target.

You began following their daily routine, seeing how truly sweet their main three Pokémon were..but also recognizing that this wasn't the first time they've been verbally abused.

The Houndoom was motherly towards Gengar and Mimikyuu...and only followed her trainer's orders to protect them both from punishment.

But you decided to be the one who protects all three of them.

So you tormented the trainer for a while, convincing them they were being haunted by a ghost-type and making them look crazy in front of all their peers and future challengers.

And you erased all their pokedex progress.

By the end, you killed and replaced them entirely in their sleep, and you kept the disguise up well (aside from the flaws typical to your species).

Yet all your "new Pokémon" noticed was your abrupt change of heart....though it took Houndoom a while to genuinely warm up to you.

She only did after you gave Gengar a much-deserved hug--they were crying tears of joy and at first she thought you upset them until she saw the smile.

After that, they were all willing to battle alongside you, especially Mimikyuu who was cheerier than ever whenever you brought them out, doing your best given what knowledge you gained from watching other trainers.

You spoiled them with treats, courtesy of the human scum you replaced and the thousands of pokedollars they selfishly kept for themselves.

When you crossed paths with Arven, he can immediately tell something's different about who he considers the "rudest trainer in Paldea".

You tell him that you're not a Pokémon, but a creature similar to a Ditto, explaining that you basically took their identity and Pokémon to give them a better life.

While he thinks identity theft is a very serious crime....he finds your actions justifiable and befriends you from there on.

I slightly started waking up feeling someone kissing up my neck causing me to giggle before I squint one eye open recognizing my husband.  A huge smirk masks my face without even needing to look over at the man laying beside me. "Now I wonder who's bringing such a look to those lips." 

Rolling on my side to face him I see he's mirroring the exact same smirk. The sunlight brightens his knotted blonde hair when he wraps his arms around my bare back tugging me forward so I'm pressed to his bare chest. "I must say I love being woken up like this, especially in England of all places." 

“I’m happy I can make you smile that beautiful smile of yours.  Although I still don’t see any reason why you are against me compelling Queen Elizabeth so that we could stay inside Buckingham Palace.” His morning voice trailed off when he pressed his lips to mine.  

Laying one arm above my head I watched him slowly kiss down my body causing goosebumps to crawl up my body.  “Just because you once ruled like royalty doesn’t mean that we can ransake a cas - ohhh Nik!” 

“That’s one of the reasons.  But the other is I'd just love to spoil my wife on her birthday.” He raised his head flashing me a huge grin that showed his dimples. 

Leaning forward I kissed him and he smirked, kissing me slowly back.  My fingers knotting themselves into his hair making him moan against me. The blankets started to fall but that wasn’t a concern to us at the moment.  I began to move against him and leaned up pressing my lips down upon his in a kiss deeper. He embraces me back instantly when my fingers dug into his back, drawing blood that would heal later.

He ran his body over every inch of me he could reach, both of us slick with sweat as he moved against one another, our pants and moans filling the room.  This wasn’t our first time obviously but with Klaus it felt that way every single time. 

Grabbing his shoulder blades I vamped him down onto his back knowing he slightly hated and loved when I forced him to not be in charge.  Klaus threaded his head into my tousled blonde hair tugging on it before he broke the heated kiss simply staring into my eyes.  “Let me spoil you, Rae Rae.  You know birthdays are my favorite to celebrate.” 

“Indeed I do, Nik.  And I have to admit it's quite strange to not have the kids around during my birthday.” I chuckled tracing the tattoo on the front of his bare chest. 

Klaus kisses my forehead before he connects our lips briefly once more.  “You’ve yet to answer my question, love.  How do you want to spend your birthday?”

“I eventually want to have dinner and go out on the town later tonight.  But I have no desire to leave this bed at the moment if you know what I mean.” A cheeky smirk graced my lips when my gaze focused onto his bright blue orbs. 

My hybrid husband suddenly flipped me back down onto my back causing a playfully fit of squealing and giggles to escape my lips.  “Whatever my wife wants, she will get on her birthday.” Klaus bent his head down leaving kisses down my neck until he reached the crook of my neck, I moaned instantly when he kept kissing that particular spot. 

Grabbing the sides of his face I pressed his forehead against my own.  “How would you feel about blood sharing every year on our birthdays hmm?”

“I’ll do anything you ask, heretic queen.” He responded with his British accent sounding much deeper every morning when we had woken up like this.  He tilted his head to the side giving me the ability to see his neck.  My fangs slowly popped out when I bent my head down biting into the skin, feeling the savory taste of blood flowing down my throat.  Nik gently gripped some locks of my hair needing some part of me to hold onto while he rocked his hips against mine.  “Rae - Raelyn!”

I started to detach my fangs until he quickly yet softly pressed his fangs into my neck drinking my blood at the same time.  “Mmmm Nik!” My words muffled against his neck until I had to release my fangs from his throat, overwhelmed by the desire and enjoyment. 

Klaus drank a few more sips of my blood before he removed his sharp fangs.  His eyes were slightly darker from what I could tell when our gazes got focused on one another, both of us heavily panting trying to calm our breathing even though we didn’t tire ourselves out much anymore.  “I’d go through all the betrayal and torture for over a thousand years now that I know it all leads me to you, Raelyn.” Nik gently held my face in his hands. 

“You’re everything I’ve ever wanted, Klaus…now how would you feel about a round two?”  Draping my arms around his neck he showed me his usual smirks, wrapping his arms around my waist vamping us into the bathroom.  Klaus smashed his lips upon mine with my back being pressed against the shower wall.  I threaded my fingers into his already messy hair, our bodies molded together letting us get lost in our desires and the warm water. 

We certainly made sure that our birthdays were full of activities.  

Andrea’s pov - Mystic High

Staring out the window of the back seat of Ethan’s truck I felt like my mind was running a mile a minute.  I was so nervous that going here and pretending to be human when three out of the four of us in this vehicle weren’t.  Ethan and my cousin Missy offered to drive me and his sister Maya to school. 

“I don’t know how long Henrik will be able to hide that he’s a hybrid like my father.  I know he doesn’t want to hurt Stefanie.” Missy who was seated in the front passenger seat while Ethan drove us muttered out into the air. 

He glanced over to her for a split second then looked back at the road ahead.  “I mean we didn’t think we’d work out and we’ve still made it through this.” 

“That's true.  But none of us can understand the urges my brother has.  The only person who can understand is our father.” 

Maya finally said something entering their conversation.  “Where are your parents right now, Missy?  I thought they were the headmaster’s of the Salvatore School.” 

“They still are.  They just told me and my siblings that they’d be home in a few months.  Apparently they’ve trying to build a European branch of the school.” 

Maya snorts out a laugh.  “Or they’re making some more babies.” 

“Maya!” Ethan sharply snaps back at his sister.  Missy blushed knowing what she meant and I shake my head with a hand covering my face knowing what she was referring to as well. 

His sister shrugged her shoulders before we pulled into a parking spot letting us out to head inside the school.  “I just think it’s obvious given the fact that there’s what like eight Mikaelson children running around this town.” 

“On that note - uh have a good day.” Ethan nervously tapped the steering wheel while Maya and I got out of the truck and they drove off. 

During my lunch break I changed into some gym shorts and a tea shirt that had the Mystic High School mascot heading to the team competition that would determine if I would or not be on the baseball team.  Walking out onto the white base mount the coach stared at me waiting for me to pitch the ball to him.  He had already seen how everyone was batting earlier in today's tryouts.  Closing my eyes I gripped the softball in my right hand knowing I needed to keep my werewolf strength hidden.  “You got this Andrea!” I heard one of the human friends I had made when we were heading to tryouts cheering me on.  The person cheering me on was a simple human girl named Paige.  She had curly ginger hair and light green eyes and was slightly taller than I was.   

Blinking my eyes opened I shifted my feet finally throwing the ball towards the coach.  When the ball made contact with his mit nearly causing the coach to fall backwards harshly on the dirt ground.  “Oh my god.  Coach Wilson I’m so sorry.” I quickly apologized hoping he wasn’t injured while he got up from the dirt. 

“Don’t apologize, Lane.” He dusted off his jeans, walked over to me and shoved the ball back in my glove on my left hand.  A proud smile crossed his face.  “Welcome to the team.  I’ll see you at practice on Monday.” 

Paige came running over and nearly tackled me into the dirt where we started jumping up and down with so much excitement.  “We both made the team!” 

“I can’t really believe it! - wait a second, is that Dylan?” I jumped around with her till I noticed someone running towards us. 

Dylan, was a Junior and human as well.  He was wearing a cameo baseball cap backwards on his head hiding his naturally curly brown hair that I secretly found attractive.  “Andrea! Maya’s biting a cheerleader.” 

“She’s biting her!” Paige gasped with a look of disgust and horror crossing her features. 

Grabbing Dylan by his shoulders I tried to keep a straight face considering neither of them knew what was really happening.  “Where is she right now, D?”

“I saw her in the gym watching the cheerleaders practicing.  She started talking to one of them before she suddenly shoved her against the wall and looked to be feeding on her somehow. You were the first people I thought to tell.” 

“Come on.  We’ve gotta stop her.” Bolting into a run my two friends followed after me, I knew we would be in serious trouble if one of the townies was killed by a newbie vampire.

like sorry but writing a narrative about the british royal family where the uncritical happy ending is "adoring crowds affirm the beloved hereditary prince's place in the hereditary hierarchy" is just. come on man. come on

similarly just an absolutely uncritical and wholly positive take on the office of united states president. laughable

the whole scene where uma thurman asks alex if he's on truvada in that unbearable fake southern accent. uncanny. also texans don't sound like that

the pacing was bad, bad, baddddd. everything happened far too fast, probably as a symptom of trying to adapt a several hundred page long book into a two hour movie. it felt like I was watching some sort of abridged version of the movie for like the entire first half of the film

this is a small thing but the production value just seemed really bad. like it was serving youtube webseries. which isn't necessarily the worst thing in the world but combined with the acting and the writing it certainly didn't do the movie any favors

this is also more of a personal pet peeve and I recognize that but the score was obviously just pulled from a generic stock music library and I really hated it. it was just very obnoxious and on the nose. I get it's often unavoidable but I'm a big stock music score hater

any advice on how to not get overwhelmed at the prospect of writing a longer fic? 😭😭 i freak myself out with “ohhh what if i get too far in and then it turns out it sucks” and “i’ll have to do so much research for certain canon compliant things” etc etc

hi anon! i would be happy to share some of the things that work for me! we all know i love to talk incessantly about writing. thank you for giving me an excuse to. ❤

standard writing advice disclaimer that this is indeed all just stuff that works for me personally. it might not work for you, or you might have to tweak it to work for you, because different things work for different people! like all writing advice, it is best approached as suggestions and not as rules, so while i think this is all stuff worth trying, i also think that if you find it doesn't work with how your writing brain works, you should absolutely chuck it out the window.

firstly: get comfortable with the idea that the story is going to evolve as you write it. when you're writing something long, you ARE going to get far into it and realize you fucked something up at the begininning, or realize you left something out, or realize you need to change or cut something from earlier for the story to work. this does NOT mean that you're writing badly! recognizing those things is actually super smart of you! you are not beholden to what you wrote a week ago or a month ago or six months ago in your WIP. you can simply change it to better suit this story that you now know more about. no one will even know that you originally wrote it differently except maybe your alpha reader or pal you've been bouncing ideas off of, and they're legally required* to take that information to their grave. i will touch a little more on editing long fic in a minute, but i really do think this is maybe the most important piece of advice: accept that your story will change as you write, and think of it as a good thing.

(*i am not a lawyer)

writing your long fic is going to take a long time. that's a huge part of what makes it such a nerve-wracking undertaking! writing long fic is dedicating a huge amount of time and energy to a creative project that you have a lot of feelings about, and it can be really hard! but it can also be so rewarding and so worth it to see all that work turn into the story that you really wanted to tell. just the sense of accomplishment of FINISHING a long-term project like that is really cool and gratifying. it's so easy to fall into the trap of thinking "what if i put in all this work and then it sucks" but i think it's helpful to try to reframe that thought as something like "i'm going to put all this work in and learn so much about this story, and figure out how to make it the best that i can make it at this stage in my writing journey."

also, again: your first draft is not going to be perfect. it might be deeply, deeply flawed. you ARE going to have to edit. that doesn't mean you were writing badly. that is a normal and even essential part of writing. your story doesn't suck if the first draft is kinda fucked up. your story is NORMAL if the first draft is kinda fucked up. especially with long fic, getting the story out and then editing holistically to make it all work is really where the magic happens.

(i know there are people who post chapter by chapter while they write instead of writing the whole thing and editing it altogether; i cannot speak to their processes because i cannot write like that 😂)

if you are lucky enough to have a trusted friend or two willing to read as you write, cheerlead, and help you pick through tough spots in the story, i do recommend you take them up on it! because it can take so long to write a long fic, having people who are excited about your story and to provide that gratification can be really helpful. two things to keep in mind here are to make sure your alpha-readers are people you can trust not to flake on you and who will be reliably able to give pretty quick feedback, and to try to resist the urge to call on them to read every single time you write more. i usually go to mine in 5–10k chunks of long fic draft. obviously this isn't a hard and fast rule at all, but i think it a) gives them meatier chunks of story to give me feedback on and b) helps me get and stay comfortable with writing for longer periods without feedback, so i can concentrate more on the story and be less distracted thinking about how other people will react to it.

on the research front: research can be really daunting!! unfortunately i am a nerd who loves research so i usually see it as a fun challenge. but i think there are a couple of things that might help. when you're getting ready to dive into your long fic, make a list of things you're going to need to research, then divide them into things that you NEED to know to write the story (e.g. dates of important games, for pacing reasons) and things that can wait until after you get the first draft down and are editing. like, if you're writing something set in a city you're not familiar with and want to include local details, you don't need to do that research up front. use placeholder tags to fill in during editing — [RESTAURANT] or [STREET NAME] or [DESCRIPTION TO COME AFTER I LOOK AT GOOGLE STREET VIEW] — or just leave yourself a note to come back and add descriptive details later.

also, remember that fic readers are often super willing to let some inaccuracies slide for the sake of a good story, so it's okay if not everything is perfect! you are also allowed to elect to ignore canon when it does not serve you. like, in HAW, i simply said hello we are pretending that matthew re-signed in calgary, that there were no notable roster changes from the previous season, and, on a smaller potatoes level, that brady is still living with timmy and josh. because that's what i wanted for my story (and also because the matthew trade to florida happened when i was already about 70k into the draft and i was like, fuck it, we're doing it anyway 😂). which is all to say that it's okay and even good to find a balance between doing research/committing to accuracy and saying fuck it for the sake of your story.

on the editing front: try to limit the amount of editing you do while you're writing. you can get so caught up in forever tweaking what you've already written that your forward progress completely stagnates. leave most of your line-editing for after you have a draft. if you notice something that you want to change, leave yourself a note and do the actual changing after you have a draft. if you notice thousands of words in that you totally forgot that one character has a dog, leave yourself a note to go add the dog in later, and continue writing as if the dog has been there the whole time. no one will know that the dog in the first half was added in later.

the amount of STUFF that goes into a long fic can feel pretty overwhelming, so i am big on leaving myself notes and making lists when writing long fic. i know i am not going to remember every thought i have, but i know i will TRY TO remember them and will get totally bogged down. leaving a note or making a list de-bogs me so i can come back to that detail when it's time to deal with it. two essenital lists that i keep in my notes app while i'm working on a writing project are:

a list of ongoing subplots, themes, motifs, and/or mini-arcs that i want to make sure i thread evenly throughout the fic. i do not trust myself to remember these without writing them down. this is super helpful especially if i get stuck, because i can go to the list and ask, okay, what is one of these that i haven't revisited in a while, because that should probably happen next. a HAW example of this is quinn as a side character — at least once i looked at my list and was like, oh, quinn hasn't shown up in a while! i should figure out how to do a scene with him next!

a list of things i will want to review and edit for after i finish the draft. if i stop and edit in the moment i lose momentum; if i don't write the thing down, i might forget about it. so i'll just quickly add it to the list and be able to go back to it when it's editing time! a HAW example of this is me writing on this list "make it more clear that matthew is kind of a mama's boy" and eons later paying close attention to that thread in editing and adding a little more of their relationship to the story.

again this is not a hard and fast rule! sometimes i'll run into an issue with my fic and be like, oh no if i don't go back and fix this then i won't be able to figure out how the story needs to go from here. so obviously in those instances i immediately go and edit that thing! i think it takes practice to be able to tell the difference between "edit now" issues and "edit later" issues but i also think that like 90% of the time it's an edit later issue.

also, always keep a dump doc. (instead of deleting stuff from your draft, cut and paste it into a separate document for safekeeping. this makes it easier to kill your darlings since you are not actually killing them but re-homing them, and can come in handy later.)

one last thing i want to touch on is writer's block or getting stuck in the middle of a draft. with shorter stories, you can sometimes get them out in one or two creative bursts and this can be less of an issue (although obviously not NOT an issue. i am not trying to suggest that people writing shorter fic don't deal with this, lmao. the scale is just different.) writing something long is more about sustained creativity over a long stretch of time, and you are going to have highly productive periods and less productive periods because you're a human being who needs to refill their creative well sometimes. when this happens, try not to panic or despair. sometimes you run into a snarl in your story and you really just need to take a few days to ponder and let the solution come to you. however, if you get stuck and you are getting frustrated trying to figure out what comes next, here are a few things that i find helpful:

get outside and go for a walk or a run. listen to music or a podcast or audiobook. let your brain relax.

talk to a (fannish) friend over the phone/videochat or in person about it, over coffee or dinner or something. sometimes talking about it out loud helps process things in a different way than typing.

figure out what the next big plot point you want to get to is, and then look at where your story is now, and think about what needs to happen to get them to that point. does character A need to trust character B more? devise a trust-building scene. does character A need more self-confidence? think about what kind of scene would help them build confidence.

(this might also involve looking at what you've written already and going, oh, i could build that character beat into that scene from last week! and suddenly everything works better.)

go to your dump doc — is there an abandoned snippet or idea in there that's of more use to you now?

look at your list of ongoing themes and subplots! if there's one you haven't touched in the draft for a while, figure out what's going on there!

you might not get it right on the first try and that's fine. there are scenes that i've completely re-written 4–5 times before they felt right enough for me to move forward. that can be frustrating, obviously, but it doesn't mean you're a bad writer! it takes skill to recognize when a scene isn't working!

okay, i think that's all i've got for now. i really do think that the most important thing with writing long fic is to embrace that it's going to be a long-term project, with ups and downs, productive periods and recharging periods. let the story grow and evolve as you write it. you're not going to get everything right on the first try and that's normal. it is actually so fun to be writing a scene in the back half of your story and suddenly realize you can pull the whole plot together way better by adding two sentences into a scene you wrote three months ago. writing a long fic is not like digging a tunnel, all forward progress to get to the light. it's like building a house and then rearranging the furniture and decor inside until it looks and feels the way you want it to.

why "the outsiders" is one of the best shows i've ever seen

i loved every second of this show, so here's all my favorite parts!!

ALSO Trevor Wayne (u/s Ponyboy) was on for my show, and it was his Broadway debut, so that mixed with this only being their fourth official show after debuting on Broadway this past Thursday (they've been in previews for a few weeks) made for SUCH a good show atmosphere, the vibes were immaculate, and Trevor was a phenomenal Ponyboy.

Also, I got to stagedoor, and the cast was SO incredibly kind!!! I love stagedoors when the cast is just made up of the nicest group of people ever

Act 1

the COSTUMES OHHH MY GOD

and the set is so cool???

the fight choreo is something i could talk about forever and ever

in general, the music has a very folk/country vibe to it, which fits SO well since it takes place in oklahoma!!

"grease got a hold" was so fun, i loved the idea that you become an official greaser after getting through your first fight with the socs

the show in general is such a good balance of quotes directly from the book and original lines!

i love that they made Dally another big brother figure to Ponyboy, because it just adds so much to the tension between Darry and Ponyboy

additionally, making Dally the leader of the gang while Darry's trying to stay away from that world... such a good change

Johnny and Pony are the best friends ever omg

Ace my beloved 😭😭 i'm usually hesitant about new characters being added but i love her so much

i was afraid they'd make her like an Anybodys copy, but she was SUCH a good fit within the group, and her relationships and interactions with them all felt so natural

btw she and Steve are siblings that is my hc they're brother and sister your honor!!!

and Two-Bit!!! Beloved!!! Daryl Tofa you are THE Two-Bit ever!!!

"Great Expectations" had the stage completely blacked out except for spotlights on each of the outsiders gang when i tell you i was emotional

Having Johnny present for the scene when Darry slaps Ponyboy is such a smart decision, especially since he's the one who grabs Ponyboy and gets them out of the house

Having the silhouettes of Soda and Darry during Johnny and Pony's duet, and Darry just sitting so defeated on the floor hurt me ngl

There were effects when Ponyboy was being drowned where it was like we were underwater as well, and everyone else was just moving silently. SO well done

the scene where Johnny stabs Bob was insane- there were blackouts, and people were moving in slow motion, and it was so perfectly overwhelming

God, the entire ending sequence was incredibly with the set pieces!! and in general, the effects were so good

also Dally is such an overprotective brother to BOTH Johnny and Pony

Act 2

The harmonies in this show. This is such a strong ensemble cast, and they're so powerful during the group numbers

"Death's at my Door" made me fucking sob????? Johnny and Pony being each other's reason to live??? Them staying alive just to make sure the other is safe???

Have I mentioned how much I love that Dally sees Pony and Johnny as his little brothers?? Because I love it so so much

Darry and Dally's arguments, and Dally making good points on why he's close with Ponyboy hurt SO much because Darry's trying his best

Ohhhh Darry is speaking to my soul he really is the parentified older sibling ever

But also "Throwing in the Towel" being similar to "Death's at my Door", with Sodapop begging Darry not to give up, because he loves him, and recognizes what he does for them??? And Ponyboy joining in at the end from the church??

Dally immediately hugging Ponyboy and Johnny when they reunite at the church 😭

"Soda's Letter" made me cry violently but that's nothing new

"Hoods turned Heroes" was actually so cute, the greasers were so excited and proud of Pony and Johnny

but the tonal shift at the end when Dally carried Johnny in all bandaged up??

a little miffed we didn't see the Curtis brothers reuniting ngl, but that's the only thing i wish they added in

THE FUCKING RUMBLE WAS SO GOOD HOLY SHIT

Darry asking Ponyboy if he can fight for him 😭😭😭 he loves his brother so much

THE CHOREO AND THE RAIN ON STAGE OH MY GOD

And Ponyboy fights until Johnny comes on stage and stands in front of him, and everything just freezes 😭

I do love how all the greasers were present for JOhnny's death, because it just solidifies how they're a family

Joshua Boone as Dally destroyed me. He perfectly showed how Johnny was Dally's entire world

and GOD them changing Dally's death to suicide by straight up stepping onto the train tracks and getting hit by a train was...

Just how empty and lost Ponyboy was after everyone died, and how desperate Soda and Darry were to get him to at least eat something, they portrayed that grief and trauma so well

"Stay Gold" 😭😭😭😭😭

Literally could not stop sobbing during that song, everyone around me was crying

There was such a perfect balance between Pony's narration and the show itself, and there were moments where he broke the fourth wall, mainly by looking at Soda and Johnny during their letters, and it just made for such an emotional impact

Darry asking to read Pony's story 😭😭 showing his support, and Pony being absolutely shocked but so happy 😭😭

also when Darry and Pony tell each other they love each other 😭😭 sobbing violently i love familial reconciliation

I was just an emotional wreck the entire finale, it was so beautiful

and the implication that instead of writing an essay, Ponyboy wrote "The Outsiders" in-universe 😭😭

I saw you responded and damn near screamed out of excitement. I have zero clue when this would take place, as it include T-Owl and Centipede so we'll call it an AU. I will be referring to Centipede as they/them.

[] Dream goes as this:

Someone is watching through a camera or something.

Centipede is sitting on top of a tower of some kind, it has a large flat, square top and it's all white. The towers aren't outside, it's inside of like a circle of some kind. There are other towers that line the walls just like it, in a circle, with a spiral staircase in the center with walkways leading to the square towers.

Their tails/rinkaku kakuja are kinda sprawled out behind them. They are clearly looking down at something, watching.

When T-Owl comes up over the edge behind them, very sneakily. He wanders close enough to Centipede finally, before gently (though at the beginning the watcher didn't know that) biting one of their tails, making a noise similar to an animal trying to play.

Centipede flips around, looking clearly caught off-guard, while hopping up into a mildly defensive pose. They are crouched down, on all fours, watching T-Owl.

(Truly both are on all fours, I'm a sucker for kakuja quadrobics; headcanon as you do with that idea.)

T-Owl chirps/sneezes.

Centipede does it back, before tackling T-Owl.

They duke it out in a similar way to both cats and dogs. Occasionally bitting each other, not aggressively or sexually but playfully.

Just nipping at each other.

Just playing together.

Until, accidentally, T-Owl bites them a little too hard and ends up mildly hurting them. While it heals almost instantly, Centipede still yipes and leaps away from T-Owl.

T-Owl, recognizing what he did, purrs as he gets closer to Centipede. To any (human/CCG) outsider this would look like T-Owl is trying to lure them into a false sense of security, but to other ghouls/half-ghouls he's clearly apologizing. Saying "I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to." purely by action.

T-Owl gets closer to them before nuzzling into their jaw with his beak, quietly chirping to them until they chirp back. Both recognizing his apology and their exception of that apology.

Centipede purrs.

T-Owl purrs.

They just sit there for a minute, calming each other down. Just play chewing on each other.

-Until an incredibly high-pitched and loud alarm goes off and spooks them both away from the area.

i saw like a post somewhere that gave humanized zooble prosthetics and i just loved that so you know i had to incorporate that somehow! i also wanted to try and get some of the colors from their circus design onto them too bc i felt like that would be nice. i'm not super happy with their design, like i feel like i could do better but like.... i'm lazy atm.... i'll do that later!

for kinger you know i had to keep his piercing blue eyes. you know i did. it's such a fun and silly aspect of his character how could i not.(his design is kinda basic so i don't know what else to say about it i'm very sorry kinger enjoyers)

when it comes to Jax's design! i still wanted him to have some pink and purple so you could recognize him but also have it be different from his circus design so i did the best i could. i also kept his teeth yellow because it's a thing you can translate to a human design and it doesn't need to be changed. i like that Jax has yellow teeth because so do i. HE KEEPS HIS YELLOW TEETH👹👹

GANGLE!!! omg i do rlly like how i designed her! i still wanted to incorporate ribbons some how so i gave her a braid with a ribbon at the end, however i do feel like she changes up her hair often in order to use more ribbon because it's something she enjoys!!! to me she gives off scared ex-theater kid. for obvious reasons. did i do that vibe justice? idk you tell me!

ohhh Ragatha..how i love you so.. Ragatha! her hair is infact dyed! bc you know her hair is so iconic to her character but i originally didn't want her to be ginger, why? felt too close to circus her! but i didn't want to rid her of her ginger entirely. so i toned it down, made it a bit more orange than red and made it dyed! i think it looks nice:) she's also a waitress! felt as it might fit sense she does give off people pleasing therapist friend vibes.

and for last but certainly not least POMNI!!!

she was the one i designed first! and obviously she doesn't have her normal colors from her circus design other than her hair!(did you know that pomnis circus design hair is supposed to be black but it just ended up looking brown? yeah. yeah.) it's mainly because she is infact wearing her work uniform and she doesn't really get to express herself through it but also i just wanted to change for her to be really present. because i can😁 but you know i had to keep her looking tired and depressed bc thats pomni for ya

see like the reason i wanted to make my own designs was because i didn't like the idea of them looking so similar to their tadc counterparts, it leaves more angst opportunities when they look so much different from their original bodies. right now this is kinda some concept work, i might change things(cough cough zooble) but right now i'm happy with them!

The college au is so full of angst I’m trying o come up with fluff set after a possible „talking it out“ scenario and just love the idea of Buggy at a party with a bunch of folks he doesn’t know feeling out of his area. He’s not technically a shy guy, he’s pretty outgoing if anything actually, that’s how he met Alvida and Mohji and „Mr. Three“ Galdino and so on and so forth, but Shanks is truly just the life of the party, Shanks talks to everyone and makes them feel welcome and everyone seems to absolutely love Shanks, as opposed to Buggy, who’s keenly aware his abrasive personality scares people off unless they are forced to spend more time with him (Or if they are like Alvida and can just dish out as much as he can)

So he nurses a little solo cup on his own and stews in his misery until Shanks suddenly drops next to him onto the couch and snuggles up to him all happy and affectionate. They banter a little until someone comes in to ask Shanks if he wants to come out and play Mario Party with everyone, before glancing at Buggy and inviting him along mostly to be polite, but Shanks is just in pure affection mode all „I’ll join you guys later. Have you met my boyfriend? This is Buggy, I told you about him.“ „Yeah you mentioned you have-„ „Buggy I just got done talking to uhhh-*snap snap* Pardon me I forgot your name- but she was telling me about that makeup channel she has and I told her „My boyfriend does absolutely AMAZING special effects makeup.“ and showed her the stuff you did for my Halloween costume and she asked me where I got the coat from and I just went „Get this, he also does sewing in his spare time and-„ Just completely in worshipping boyfriend mode until the other party , obviously not interested in listening to this, excuses herself.

By the end of the night Shanks is just resting his head in Buggys lap , clearly content with himself and his place in the world while Buggy is still processing that his boyfriend loves him so much he will just introduce Buggy as his boyfriend without a second thought, something he always doubted would happen, because … he’s Buggy and who wouldn’t at least slightly cringe at introducing him because… he’s Buggy. And also that Shanks thinks so much of him he is will absolutely talk peoples ears off when he gets the chance.

Idk what kind of psychic reading shit you're doing but it's working because I'm so serious when I tell you I'm in the middle of writing chapter 7 and (spoiler alert ig) there's gonna be a party in it ahaha

But don't worry, there's no actual angst yet, the real angst lays ahead, but don't worry, I always sprinkle fluff for balance.

Also I have plans for Alvida, but I will steal the idea of him meeting Mohji and Galdino through a party lol ':)

But ohhh goodness this is the cutest thing ever! I adore self-conscious Buggy and clingy Shanks :''D

Anyway have a little party-goer addition to this:

Buggy went to the party only because Shanks did. In fact it wasn't just because of him, he made sure at least Alvida came as well but she canceled last minute. So now the only person he knew was his social-butterfly boyfriend.

Something odd kept on happening though. People kept on recognizing him. The first time it happened Buggy thought they would giggle behind his back or insult him, but they recognized him as "Shanks's boyfriend" and started talking about how he'd talk about him all the time.

Buggy then thought that they were saying that out of politeness, but they kept bringing up things Shanks had said and the way it sounded was almost as if Shanks was praising him. No... showing off maybe? Which was confusing for him because what was there to be proud of anyway?? Regardless, anyone who recognized him from Shanks's stories or because of how much he mentioned him, seemed to have a good opinion of Buggy. Which was enough for now.

At some point Buggy has had enough being around people and decides he needs a break. Preferably a snack break. He found the way to the kitchen and rummaging through it he finds a half eaten box of ice cream. Only problem is he needs to sneak out back to eat it or else someone might want some and he can't be giving ot charity! That's the ice cream he rightfully stole, bo one could take it from him!

So he sneaks out and Shanks somehow finds him. Shanks is a bit worried Buggy isn't having fun but Buggy is worried Shanks will eat his dessert.

They sit next to each other, staring at the moon with half a box of ice cream. After two spoons of silence Buggy finally gives in.

Buggy: fiiiiiine, I give up

Shanks, panicking that something happened and he missed it and he's too tipsy to be adequate: wh- huh?

Buggy tilting the box to his boyfriend: You can have some. You were looking for a good time to ask right?

Shanks: Well no... *takes it anyway*

Shanks: I thought you were running away to be honest... hiding...

Buggy: Running - no. Hiding - yes, this ice cream is way too good to be shared. I'm taking an ice cream break, like a snack break but better because I found this treasure *gestures to the box as if he's in a commercial*

Shanks giggles a bit. He can see the moon's radiance off his boyfriend and he feels so lucky at that moment.

Shanks: You're sharing it with me though

Buggy: You don't count, at this point you're like an extension of my own body. You're inevitable... I bet that makes you happy, huh

Shanks absolutely smittened taking about spoon: Yeah, it does.

Shanks, jokingly: I hope you never get rid of me

Buggy: Well now you sound like a curse- hey, hey, hey, stop eating my ice cream

They finish the ice cream and dump it in a random garbage can hoping no one saw them. They also google it finding it was extremely expensive and pray to whoever's listening no one noticed them sneaking out and back in with a spoon gull of evidence.

this makes me wonder if i should leave a couple of chapters as epilogue just for fluff... I'll think about it...

I still think the Audrey/cooper plotline had such an opportunity to be like "ohhh this is sexy even though it's problematic it's not his fault she came onto him!" but it doesn't. and that's a low bar but still honestly pretty fantastic for a show that is now this old. and in rejecting her coopers not like "it isn't right I have to be ~far away from you~ lest I give in to The Temptation" he's like "you need a friend right now and I'm more than happy to do that". like at no point does it feel predatory on his side at all which is crazy I literally don't think I've seen a plotline like this have that kind of moment before

and twin peaks really doesn't have a problem with showing problematic relationships, but recognizes that just like. isn't what this character would do. he's supposed to be trying to do what's right and that's what would be right in this situation and it doesn't really falter in that despite playing with greys of morality in so many areas overall

Azure Gleam Ch 12

It shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone that this is, by far, my favorite route. Spoilers below.

MAIN STORY

I forgot we had Claude on our "side" here.

Oh, here comes Byleth. This is AG's chapter for Byleth, right? And ugh, this time I need to actually recruit Byleth or else someone I love will die bc someone from Faerghus will die.

Oh, there's Randolph. Ready to die again. I swear to God this man is allergic to life.

He's hiring Jeralt, so yeah, this is the recruit Byleth chapter.

Adrestian nobles are real peaches. They're burning villages and looting, or a good handful of them are. I swear they have the worst nobility. Only Faerghus Western lords rival them.

If Randolph dies, than Jeralt's contract is terminated. So that means I have to trade Randolph for Jeralt and Byleth? Deal.

Man, that mint hair is a CHOICE. Whyyyyy. The darker blue hair is much better.

I like Byleth more after Hopes. I liked Byleth before, but Hopes has helped me see the characterization easier. It also makes the whole "one man army"/Ashen Demon seem more real.

And yep here's the sword again from the other routes.

I'm just so happy they gave Felix the high ponytail look.

Time to make Adrestia sweat.

Jeralt scars the Blue Lions way more than Randolph.

Leave it to Sylvain to strategize. Haha, Rodrigue says Sylvain reminds him of his dad, Sylvain isn't sure if that's a compliment.

I love how much you can tell all these people have known each other for so long.

ANNETTE & FELIX B

Weird to only give them on support and it's only B given how popular their ship is.

Another support about Annette's songs lol. They really increased that in this game, but it's adorable so I'm good.

Dorothea and the church are performing operas for Faerghus.

Annette's "opera" song is about taking a hot bath when she's already hot. Felix is impressed with her mental fortitude. Lol.

Annette's flustered because it's supposed to be serious, not about bathing lol.

They basically set up a date to go see an opera together.

YURI & SHEZ C

I saw this in another route already (but forgot), so I unlocked it here too! But not going to write about it twice.

YURI & SYLVAIN B

These two rooted out spies together. Well, mostly Yuri lol.

Yuri's impressed with Sylvain's layers.

Neither of them are going to let Dimitri know what they're up to until after it's done lol.

Yuri's earned Sylvain's trust, but still threatens Yuri if he switches sides.

Yuri calls Sylvain out for being super loyal, which, yes, he is and that's often so overlooked part of his character.

Wait . . . Sylvain hit on Yuri with a bad pickup line? Lamo.

Sylvain mistook Yuri for a girl. Yuri is going to blackmail Sylvain with his back pickup lines for life lamo.

Yuri's open to a date with Sylvain though. Sylvain is into Yuri's flirting.

That would be a nightmare couple.

MERCEDES & SHEZ A

Mercedes looks at the little things and it reminds her of what it was like before the war - like tea parties with Shez and kids determined to get stronger.

Mercedes hates the war and wishes she could go back to those days. Getting really sentimental.

Mercedes used to just accept whatever happened and didn't realize how much she valued the past until peace got destroyed.

I had Shez be nice and tell Mercie that it's ok to get sentimental.

Mercie was happy with that.

Shez says she's always there to listen to Mercedes if she needs it.

So Mercie's like, let's tea party now! She bought new ingredients.

DEDUE & FELIX B

Their only support

Ohhh, Dimitri's in it too. They're talking strategy. Dimitri wants a head-on approach, Felix wants a sneaky one, Dedue withholds his opinion.

Dimitri tells Felix to stop pestering Dedue lamo.

Dimitri wants to head the mission, but Felix is like no, let me. Strategy resolved and Felix confronts Dedue.

Dedue values Felix's input and recognizes his unique role with Dimitri.

Dedue just stays amused the whole time and doesn't let Felix get to him.

Felix will not spit it out that he's so worried about Dimitri.

Dimitri returns and is about to tell Dimitri what went on but Felix cuts him off, which I'm sure just amuses Dedue.

I love how it's pretty much cannon that the vast majority of the cast never take Felix seriously when he's spouting his tsundere.

INGRID & MARIANNE C

MY HORSE GIRLS GET A SUPPORT CHAIN!!!!

OMG I'm so happy with this.

Ingrid's worried because her horse didn't eat all the feed. Marianne recommends hay and explains why.

Ingrid is happy and compliments Marianne, who of course downplays it and tries to get out of Ingrid asking more questions (likely about horses).

Of course, later Marianne tells Ingrid her horse (or pegasus?) is probably scared after acting up after being on the battlefield the first time. Marianne goes full horse whisperer and fixes the problem.

Then leaks that she's talking to the horse lamo. Ingrid catches it. Ingrid thinks it's awesome though.

Ingrid tries to give Marianne confidence; it doesn't work.

As a fellow horse-girl, I love this.

DIMITRI & BERNADETTA A

Dimitri catches Bernadetta out again, and ofc she gets scared, but Dimitri just wants food bc he's working too hard and missed dinner.

Haha, Dimitri hates being shut in all the time.

Bernedetta thinks Dimitri's work is spying on her, but Dimitri assures her that's not it bc he has too much work to spy lamo.

Bernadetta is amazed at what Dimitri puts on his plate because it'll taste awful, but like he can tell :(

So they cook together. And she tries to cook something he likes, which is kind of sweet actually.

She got too flustered and messed up the dish. I know where this is going lol . . . Dimitri and his iron stomach.

Yep, she's shocked that Dimitri just . . . eats it.

Oh, God, she's going try it, but of course she hates it.

Bernedetta thinks he'll have her executed now, and Dimitri's like "do you seriously think I do that?"

So I guess this is his Hopes "Dimitri can't taste anything" support.

I love how he seems immune to Bernedetta's antics though. He just calmly explains that her fears aren't true and moves on.

SYLVAIN & IGNATZ B

Ignatz figured out a general time period that Sylvain's painting came from.

Oh, geeze, it's a color made from crushed gemstones? That must've been $$$$. Geeze.

Sylain was reading up on saints to get more info on the picture and might've figured out who it was. An archbishop (was it one of Rhea's fake personas?)

Ah, they think she looks like Rhea. So I'm right. Hahaha.

They're confused about that. Never in a million years . . . .

So this does confirm that Rhea just keeps faking her death.

I'm pleasantly surprised by this support. I love Sylvain, but Ignatz is . . . not interesting, but I like how it expanded on Sylvain's studious side, and he's an art fan! Now I like him even more.

ASHE & FLAYN C

Ashe is fishing to feed the army. Ashe, sweetie, one fish is . . . not going to make a difference.

Naturally, though, Flayn is very interested. Because fish.

Does Ashe place well in the fishing tournament in 3H? Would be interesting to see if the lore stayed the same about Ashe's skills.

Poor Flayn isn't allowed to fish bc Seteth gets too nervous with her around water, but Ashe lets her fish like she used to.

Honestly, Flayn looks too young for most of the guys, but she fits Ashe's look (and personality) really well.

Flayn almost catches a large fish but fails to catch it. B support will be about her catching it, I'm betting.

DEDUE & CATHERINE B

Catherine comments that Faerghus now trusts Dedue and Dimitri more. Dedue gives all credit to Dimitri, lamo.

Apparently people gave Dimitri crap for choosing Dedue over everyone else.

Catherine isn't religious either. But I thought Rhea was a tyrant who only allowed religious people near her??? /s

Neither Dimitri nor Rhea get too wrapped up in their own titles.

Both spend their free time helping people out.

Catherine is like, maybe Dimitri is rested by helping people out like that. Something Rhea, Dimitri, and Byleth have in common.

Catherine and Dedue think they could be friends, as long as Rhea and Dimitri stay on the same side.

DIMITRI & RODRIGUE A

Not ready for this, guys.

Dimitri wants to know how Rodrigue felt when Lambert died. :(

Rodrigue didn't believe it at first, but accepted reality eventually and remembered the promise he made.

Dimitri then asks what if he'd died in Duscur too?

Dimitri also thinks Rodrigue intended to die with Lambert, but Rodrigue confirms that he never wanted to die, but wouldn't mind dying to protect Dimitri/keep him in line.

(hahahah, no)

Dimitri says losing Rodrigue would be like losing another father :( confirmation that Rodrigue is like a father.

Rodrigue calls Dimitri out for not valuing his own life enough :( (or that he doesn't even value it at all :( ) saying that he's only following his king's example then.

And Dimitri's response is like, yeah, guess you're right, I have no excuse - probably . . . not what Rodrigue was looking for :(

He's like, yeah, that was probably too harsh, but thinks Dimitri sounded a lot like Lambert :(

Rodrigue always wanted to tell Lambert that.

Dimitri's emotional about sounding like his father :(

Sounds like Faerghus people are always telling each other not to throw their lives away.

Haha, Dimitri's like, I'm jealous of your bond with your friends, and Rodrigue implies that Felix wouldn't like hearing Dimitri imply he's not close with his, lamo. Rodrigue is such a dad to Felix, like that teasing king, which is just perfect for Felix being so prickly lamo.

MAP & SIDE BATTLES

Sylvain would rather turn enemies into allies than attack them. He's talking about Jeralt's mercenaries, but it's just more proof that he disliked resolving conflict with violence.

The common folk find Dimitri more approachable now. He's working on being more relaxed lol.

Dedue and Ashe talked about how Dimitri broke a pen during a war council. Shez suggests they name the pens so Dimitri's more attached to them and is less likely to break them. I cannot with these people. (also, can you imagine how put out Dimitri would be breaking a pen he named?) They also talk about how some people are scared of Dimitri because of his freakish strength :(

Seteth is impressed with Dimitri, who asks him about tactics a lot (which, side note, I'm so happy to see this game heap more praise on Dimitri, I get that AM's plot structure didn't really allow it as much, but it's nice to hear. Also, that it's Seteth is so cool, because he's by far one of the most wise characters).

Back to Seteth though, he explains he knows so much because he's studied this military genius Saint Cichol and really recommends his book. No bias at all there, guys.

And the saga of Balthus being obsessed with fighting Dimitri continues, lamo. (nobody blames you, Balthus, because, same, how can you not be a little obsessed with Dimitri's body after seeing it).

Mercedes and Constance were friends! That's cool. Also, not two braincells between them. (and I say that with affection)

I love how the game is going out of it's way now to show that Dimitri is asking for advice from experts, then making a decision based on what he's learned. His FEH support was about that, and I always liked that, so I like seeing him do it here.

Also, it seems I can't use Rodrigue again :( Actually, here's here for the side battles, so maybe I can?

MAIN BATTLE

OK, guys, time to get Byleth. Please let this be easy.

We're in the weird dimension with Arval, who's on high alert bc Byleth. But this time we recruit Byleth.

"Defeat Randolph" - Don't mind if I do!

Ok, so step 1 is selecting "Locate Ambushers." But I don't see that?

Kidding. I picked it.

I can't use Dimitri??? Oh, shit. He's BY FAR, my strongest unit. This is a shitty battle to lose him for. And Rodrigue. So I'm down 2 of my actually trained units. This sucks.

No Felix either?? This is really bullshit at this point. I basically only have Shez, Sylvain, Ingrid, Dedue, and Mercedes and Mercedes can't do shit, Dedue is also pretty awful, and Ingrid always dies. Ugh. This is going to be impossible. So basically just Shez and Sylvain.

Honestly, if this is too hard, I'm just going to let Byleth die because, to be honest, I'm really sick of playing this game. This route IS the only one I actually care about finishing though.

Ugh, I knew I'd hate this chapter, but taking away 3 units with no warning is just total bullshit.

Dimitri following me around is kinda cute though. And I forget how good Shez is. It's just, Dimitri's so strong I'm used to one-shotting at this point, lamo.

I also love how when Dimitri's a green unit, he's still fighting and not getting protected like the other 2. He's also . . . not someone I have to worry about dying. He's, uh, level 57 and suggested level is 44 so um.

Ok, so far so good. I got Fleche to show up, which is the next step. Now I just have to kill her quick.

Defeated Fleche. Now I need to see a command to defeat a dude, and a side command I ignore (guessing either defeat Byleth or Jeralt, the side one that I ignore).

So pretty sure I messed up and I need to "kill" all the mercenaries attacking the base BEFORE Fleche.

Ok, got Alois before he invaded. Just got Fleche. Pretty sure what's left is to not engage Byleth and rush kill Randolph.

Took Randolph out because I saved up all my warrior gauges.

OMG, I finished Randolph before the side mission was even announced lol.

I DID IT!!!! I got Byleth and Jeralt 😭

And I did it without Felix OR Dimitri 😭

So Jeralt surrendered after defeating everyone bc they decided to use logic and know they couldn't win. Plus, they want new clients.

Jeralt doesn't care about the conviction with the Empire, only coin. But he wants to avoid Rhea because of their past, but Dimitri sets conditions to make sure that Jeralt and co avoid her.

Guys, I can't believe I'm seeing the recruitment and not character death (I know it's Rodrigue, I couldn't let him die, no matter what)

I just saw the Byleth is playable card 😭

Guys, I saved Rodrigue.

Most of the Blue Lions are like, this is weird, but good. And they want to bond by sparing bc that's what the Blue Lions do lamo.

Shez ran off though. She's talking to Shez and figured that's best done not with people around.

Arval is way more chill about it than I thought.

Shez still has a goal though, to win the war and bring peace with Dimitri and co.

Getting ready to attack the monastery. Still kinda wish Claude was our enemy like the other 2 routes.

Everyone is standing by Dimitri.

Oh . . . Mercedes thinking about Death Knight? Betting she'll run into him soon. Can you recruit him in AG?
