Dunk singing My Starlight in the school tour makes me miss simm so much. Not that I wasn't missing simm before. But now I am missing it so much more. Oh how I miss my comfort show. I amount of love I have for KluenDao is not normal. They really are my comfort couple. Sometimes you just need that sugary sweetness in your life. Should I just do a quick simm rewatch? I will finally have some time. But I have other shows I wanted to get to. But a simm rewatch would heal me. To simm or not to simm is the real question.
#simm#oh my kluendao#how i miss you#i love my starlight#it's so sweet#joong sang it so well#also dunk's singing has really improved a lot#i am so used to hearing my starlight in joong's voice that dunk singing it threw me off a bit#not is a bad way#just in a oh i wasn't expecting that way#okay i realize this has been happening to me a lot lately#joongdunk#no but seriously should i just rewatch simm?

@boygirlcrisis, I hope you don't mind, but I suddenly remembered your SIMM liveblog post about episode 5 and remembered I intended to respond a while back and forgot. So I hope it's okay that I'm shamelessly using this to distract myself from the pain that is THK by talking about my darling comfort pair, KluenDao.
----------
theyre not very good at communicating are they. but depending on how old they are (im not sure?) i cant really blame them.
They're both first year university students, so they're both 18. I hardcore agree that it makes a ton of sense that they're bad at communicating at this age. They're still more boys then adults and moreover had one single interaction and then didn't see each other again until the start of the series. You really get the sense that half their journey was just figuring out how to actually TALK to each other (and jsyk this totally gets paid off by the end of the series!!!! TwT)
its realistic, ive done similar things before, -its very often that two people misuderstand each other and drag things out even when theyre actually on the same page
This right here is one of my favourite things about the misunderstandings in SIMM -- as frustrating as they are, they're also incredibly believable and realistic and, most importantly, character driven.
Both Kluen and Dao are aware and acknowledge the reality of Dao's confession, but the problem is Kluen doesn't see his response as a rejection while Dao does. As a character, Kluen is incredibly straightforward, but simultaneously not very verbose, so his non-answer to Dao's confession was exactly that: not an answer. There is a certain logic to this understanding -- Dao even explicitly defines what a clear rejection is:
...which Kluen specifically did not do.
So when he hears Dao talk about the pain caused by his confession, Kluen doesn't understand that Dao is talking about a rejection. Instead, what he hears is "confessing caused me pain" and "loving you has hurt me". There are reasons why this is extremely significant in severely undermining any confidence Kluen has about pursuing Dao (which comes to light later in the series), but the point I'm trying to make here is Kluen takes this to mean something very devastating: that there is something fundamentally wrong with him (Kluen) such that loving him leads to pain and misery for Dao.
It doesn't help that he seems to have all these confirmations of how terrible he is for Dao, how he's not worthy of Dao. And if this is the truth, if Dao's feelings for Kluen is the source of Dao's misery and Dao wants to move on and wants to throw his feelings for Kluen away; if there is someone else who can step in and take away that pain, who won't cause Dao to cry -- what can Kluen do but apologise and let him go?
And oh, my poor darling he tries so hard to mean this. He wants Dao to be happy so, so badly and if all Dao needs - for whatever reason - is to have Kluen's blessing, Kluen is determined to give it to him.
And Kluen will rip his own heart to shreds if it means Dao gets the chance to forget about the hurt Kluen never even knew he was causing Dao. Kluen would break his own heart a thousand times rather than continue being the source of Dao's tears.
Only because Kluen and Dao are talking about the same thing but with wildly different nuances, it sounds to Dao like Kluen is saying that his feelings for Kluen don't matter. Like he's callously telling Dao to get over his feelings because they're just an inconvenience or annoying or stupid or a myriad of other things that make sense for Dao to think but Kluen absolutely does not mean.
And to Dao, this is a nightmare come to life. Because he never wanted his love to be a burden to Kluen, never even wanted Kluen to KNOW about his love for him. And definitely never meant to cause Kluen to feel so uncomfortable with Dao's love that he's begging Dao to move on. It's why Dao wanted to pretend like there was no history with Kluen at the beginning -- his feelings for Kluen were always something that was Dao's to treasure. Dao has made peace with his love for Kluen being unrequited as long as it's something he gets to keep in the secret, soft spaces of his heart.
So to be told by the very object of his affection to throw the tender feelings which he's spent so long carefully protecting and tucked away in his chest -- it was more than Dao could bear, which is why he lashes out the way he does.
And the night leaves both our boys brokenhearted but in a way I really adore, because this misunderstanding is completely and beautifully realistic and believable because of who these characters are and what they've been through.
But also it's precisely because of moments like these, and the journey they take to learn to communicate through them, that the love they share at the end of the series feels so beautifully and wonderfully earned.

My current watch list and upcoming shows I wish to see
Check Out
Yeh I am only sticking around because of Best and Chahub. If it wasn’t for them I would have probably dropped this. It’s just boring.
Mama Gogo
This show is just everything. I am laughing so much each ep. A kinda simple plot but it works. And I could use it right now amongst all not so great BL’s.
Minato Shouji Coin Laundry
Japanese BL’s continue to be good. I really enjoy this one. The next ep looks it will have some drama so we will see were it goes. The scene in that gif was also mood!
Oh! My Sunshine Night
PayuRain!!!! This is were my heart is and nowhere else. Cannot wait to see how their story will develop.
Sky In Your Heart
Finished airing today and I still need to see last weeks ep and the one from today. But meh. I am glad this is done and over with. No were near good. Using a kluendao gif because atleast I liked them.
Unforgotten Night
Still a mess but I am still liking this. This show keeps me entertained. From sassy Kim to Kamol being head over heels with Kim.
180 Degrees Longitude Passes Through Us (18 August, Gagaoolala)
Yes this movie has a large age gap and that might not be everyone’s taste but I am really interested in this. The trailer also looked really good.
21 Days Theory (7 August, Youtube Rookie Thailand)
Upcoming Rookie Thailand BL. Trailer looked cute. And Rookie Thailand has an actor part of the LGBTQ community so you guys better support Rookie Thailand from now on.
Adamas (27 July, Disney+)
And then I read it will be on Disney+. So most likely only watchable in Asia and US. Guess an FBI search it will be then.
War Of Y (2 August, Youtube AISPlay)
We now have 3 trailers out and the trailer for the last storyline will be out next Tuesday. I am really excited to see how these storylines are going to play out since it will show the darker side of BL. Atleast I trust Copy A Bangkok more on the darker side of bl then a certain other director.

The way your blog convinced me to give a shot and watch a fortpeat show and honeslty.... im HOOKED BITCH WTF IS LOVE SEA ON???? this show is killing me ( in the absolut most wonderful way) after this vanilla gmmtv stuff i was shooked at some sex scenes (and im only on ep 3????) Let me BREATHE!!! ( jk never stop you funky dudes)
Oh Anon, I am utterly DELIGHTED to hear this!! I hope you are having the most fun because let me share with you the way I had your experience but in reverse!! I started my Thai BL journey with LITA and Love Sea and just thought that that was normal and then attempted a bunch of shows that I dropped by about episode 4 because they just didn't click for me for a variety of reasons. And then I discovered SIMM and fell in love with KluenDao but WHAT a shock to my system it was because JoongDunk's physical chemistry is so on point that it felt so dissonant to see KluenDao only ever peck each other on the lips. XD If anything the way some of their off camera stuff felt more risque really amused me, and it was only later that I found out that GGMTV is generally pretty vanilla.
But, god, okay Love Sea makes me insane because so much of Mahasamut and Tongrak's characters are tied up to their physicality (and I mean this as individuals, not just in regard to their relationship) that the sex in the show actually becomes incredibly plot and character relevant and tells you so much about them. I had started writing a whole bunch of meta on Love Sea (the tag also has some meta i love from others mixed in there) before I got distracted with the JD spiral I'm on right now, but I do plan to get back to my Love Sea rewatch once the THK brainrot finally becomes a bit more manageable. 😂
Anyway, ahh, thank you for sharing with me that my blog made you give Love Sea a chance!! I do so love that series and I feel like a lot of people dismissed it because there was so much (seemingly gratuitous) sex in it, when really it became such an important aspect of showcasing MutRak's journey into falling in love.
Also like, FortPeat's physical chemistry is literally insane and sometimes I feel like I can never quite shut up about it. 😝

#i'm so grateful for this because of how it adds this heart wrenchingly beautiful tenderness to kluen (who is otherwise portrayed as being #cold and aloof) and allows him to show the soft tenderness he feels for dao
oh my god if you enjoy Kluen's soft tenderness towards Dao I can't wait to see how you'll feel about the extras!!!!
Sky in Your Heart is not everyone's cup of tea (in my case, I liked the setting and one of the characters, but not so much the other/them as a couple), but I recommend trying anyway, just to see if it works for you. If it doesn't, here's a list @airenyah made of the KluenDao moments scattered through the episodes, so you can find their scenes more easily.
After that, don't forget to watch the Star & Sky: Special Episode and their Our Skyy episode as well. All these extras are delightful, and I promise you're gonna love them 🥺
:o i'd heard that their Special Episode and their Our Skyy episodes were bad so i hesitating to watch them cuz i didn't want to ruin my KluenDao enjoyment... but now i really want to!
i... sort of see what you mean about SIYH not being everyone's cup of tea. i enjoyed watching Fah as Dao's doting/playful/protective older brother but as half of a main pair i can't help but find him kind of immature...although i'm cognisant of the fact that i've only just started the series and he'll probably grow in the process of the story. but its just weird to me because he's supposed to be a working adult who graduated a while ago, but he has bratty/entitled 2nd year uni student energy for some reason.
aaslkdfsldfj thank you for linking me to the list of timestamps!! that... will certainly speed up the process of me getting to the lovely KluenDao moments. *w*
but already in episode 1 i am basking in Kluen and Dao's dynamic!! its kind of overwhelming to see them so... settled into their relationship.
obsessed with the way Dao looks up with that teasing amused kitten smile on his lips. obsessed with Kluen being this bold in his affection in front of other people (and specifically Fah, because Kluen clearly feels he lived up to his words in ep 8).
oh my gosh i'm just realising how excited i am to see domestic established relationship KluenDao!?!? like!!!!! normally you don't get that cuz the show ends when they get together and you maybe get a small glimpse into it during the special episode but this!?!? a whole series worth of guest-star moments!?!? *O*
#ask#kluendao#on the one hand i keep adding things to my watch list and its getting really long but on the other hand#thank you for continuing to share your love of kluendao with me so i'm not alone in this *w*#i hope you realise you're just going to be That Person i scream about kluendao to now i'm so sorry if that isn't what you signed up for ^^;#star in my mind#sky in my heart
