The 100 ended four years ago so I think I can confidently say that i'm forever going to be stuck between the denial phase and the anger phase. No accepting or moving on for me.
I mean for the most part I just pretend that season 7 never happened, like I block it out of my mind. But when I do remember it happened, I just get incredibly angry. And I know it's not healthy to still be this upset over a fictional show that ended in 2020, but I can't help it.
I think about how Bellamy was character assassinated and then killed off in the most brutal and stupid way possible, shot by CLARKE of all people, over a damn BOOK, that she didn't even take!!! I think about how he died all alone, without a chance of saying goodbye to any of his friends or his SISTER!!! I mean think about how crazy that is, Finn died but got to say goodbye to Clarke, Lexa died but got to say goodbye to Clarke not once but twice, Lincoln died but got to say goodbye to Octavia, Jasper died but got to say goodbye to Monty, Kane died but got to say goodbye to Abby and Indra, and Bellamy??? The male lead of the show Bellamy??? He dies and he doesn't even get to say goodbye to OCTAVIA??? The Blakes don't even get a proper final scene together??? And I get angry.
I think about how Clarke, the main lead of the show, was cast aside for half the season and then also character assassinated, turned into a selfish vindictive cold-blooded person who never learns from her mistakes and suddenly doesn't care about being the good guy or doing the right thing... even though the entire point of her character arc was that she was fundamentally a good person, selfless, altruistic and empathetic, who was forced into impossible moral dilemmas. But she never stopped caring!!! Making these impossible choices never got easier for her!!! Because she was good!!! But suddenly in season 7 she was turned into everything that Clarke antis accused her of being. And what's Jason's excuse for this? "Oh, well, if you think about it she was never the hero... she was doing awful things early on in the show, just against people we didn't care about like Mount Weather... In season 7 we put the audience in Mount Weather's shoes"... excuse me???? As if Clarke didn't try literally everything in her power to get her people back, without having to harm/kill the people in Mount Weather??? As if Clarke didn't decide to pull the lever only when she saw her own mother and her friends being strapped to a table to be tortured and killed for their bone marrow??? As if Clarke didn't feel distraught over what she had to do, to the point that she felt like she had to leave her people and be on her own in the woods for months??? As if she didn't have nightmares??? As if she didn't feel guilt and regret over Mount Weather and Maya up to freaking season 6??? And I get angry.
I think about how Bellarke, whether romantic, platonic or something in between, was the MAIN relationship of the show, with the most development and screen time. And that relationship was absolutely destroyed in the most contrived, spiteful way possible!!!! Jason had to character assassinate both Bellamy and Clarke to make it happen. That's how resentful of Bellarke and Bellarke shippers he was. Even though he was the freaking show runner!!! He had the power of writing Bellarke platonically from day one!!! But Bob and Eliza confirmed that they were told that Bellarke was romantic in nature, and that's how they performed it!!! Jason was the one who wrote 2x16 and 4x13, arguably two of the most important episodes for Bellarke... he came up with together!!! He took the head and the heart from the fans and put it in the show!!! He wrote Clarke calling Bellamy every day for 2,199 days!!! No one forced him to do that!!! But he did, and for what??? For Clarke to shoot Bellamy in the end and kill him??? Even if he didn't want to make them canon for whatever reason, he could've still written an ending that was respectful of their friendship and history in the show. But no!!! He had to destroy everything that made Bellarke what it was. And I get angry.
I think about how Octavia spent YEARS trying to get back to Bellamy, to see him again and tell him how much she loves him... And then in the second half of season 7, she just gives up on him??? She doesn't even TRY to understand what happened to him on Etherea, she doesn't talk to him, when Bellamy visits her and Clarke she just stands there with a disappointed face and doesn't say a word. And then when Clarke tells her that she killed Bellamy, she just hugs her and tells her that she understands??? And so would the old Bellamy???? The 'old Bellamy' she didn't even TRY to get back, the 'old Bellamy' she simply gave up on??? Literally every character from Octavia to Clarke to Raven to Murphy to Miller to Echo, had to be character assassinated so that Bellamy could die the way he did. Because none of them would've given up on him!!! They all loved Bellamy!!! He was the 'dad' of the deliquents and then the leader of Skaikru on the ring. But suddenly nobody cares about him, nobody tries to understand what happened to him or tries to change his mind, not even his SISTER!!! AND I GET ANGRY.
I think about how the message of season 3 was that 'pain means that you're alive' and 'you don't ease pain, you overcome it', and how it is better to live in an imperfect world than a perfect simulation. And then in season 7 there's Transcendence which is basically the City of Light 2.0, an immortal hive mind where there's no pain and no death. Just "peace" for eternity. But suddenly THIS hive mind is okay... because? Because the Judge and the other aliens (putting aside how ridiculous it is to introduce ALIENS in your show in the very last episode) are fair while A.L.I.E wasn't? There's nothing 'fair' about deciding which species is worthy of Transcendence and which isn't. Especially since the punishment for not passing the test is MASS GENOCIDE. And yet the Judge is portrayed as 'good' and 'fair' while A.L.I.E. was the one actually trying to ensure the survival of the human race!!! And don't get me wrong, A.L.I.E. was evil but in her methods, her motivs were actually morally sound compared to the Judge and the rest of the aliens. They only did what they did because they believed that they were morally superior to all other species, and if one species wasn't 'good' enough according to their moral standards, that meant that they deserved extinction!!!! "But at least with Transcendence you can choose whether you want to transcend or not, A.L.I.E. didn't give you a choice" bullshit!!! If you "choose" not to transcend, the aliens still take away your chance to procreate and have kids from you!!! They make you infirtile against your will!!! Your species still dies with you and your friends!!!! Why? Because some aliens said so!!! And that's supposed to be an happy ending??? Just because all the characters are smiling and hugging, it doesn't make this ending any less horrific once you think about it for like two seconds. And I get angry.
And finally I think about how the entire message of the show was NOT survival like Jason claims, but how 'life should be more than just surviving'. How 'life can be more than impossible choices and a tragic end'. How humans can 'be the good guys' and break the cycle of war and violence and tribalism. And in the end none of that mattered. Humans kept fighting each other up until the last episode and only stopped because they were being 'tested'. They got absorbed into a hive mind and they're going to be stuck there for all eternity, no lesson learned, no real peace gained. Our main characters, that we've followed for seven seasons, are going to eventually die, leaving nothing or no one behind. All the sacrifices, all the impossible choices they've made... completely meaningless, since the 'survival' of the human race was never up to them building a better world and society after all, it was always up to the morally superior aliens. I think about how they got to survive, but they didn't get to live. And I get angry... because I really loved this show and these characters so much... and they just... they deserved better. They really did.

time can't stop me quite like you did (A Graveyard fic)
Graveyard fics are fics that I started and will never return to. Some are vague outlines, some are 4 sentences, some are 40 pages. But if they haunt me, I want them to haunt you too.
OH BOY! Here is the 40 page fic lol.
It is the first fanfiction I ever started to write, and boy does it show. I do not have the time, skill, or energy to go back and make this fic good. But it will always have a special place in my heart for what it could have been.
Anywho.
Harry and Ginny get stuck in a time loop during the start of OOTP, stuck at Grimauld Place. They start to actually form a friendship during this time because they are the only two reliving the same day over and over again at Grimmauld. I wanted it set here because it gave Harry the opportunity to have more time with Sirius. It allowed Harry to get to know Ginny earlier. It allowed shenanagans and it allowed angst with no reprocussions because they got to relive the same day over if they fucked up.
Fun fact! It was also based on a Bellarke fanfiction, Meet Me in the Morning! It is just a time loop fic for Bellamy and Clarke for the first season of The 100, but it is what inspired me to write this.
Below the cut are some of my favorite scenes I wrote and an outline for where the fic was going! (Beware it is quite long!)
Chapter 1.
Opened with Weasleys et al. having to clean a room, and Ginny is having major deja vu because they did this yesterday?
Ginny lurched forward to snap the lid of the music box close. “Okay”, Ginny said, turning to everyone in the room, “Am I insane or did we do this yesterday?”
“You’re insane,” chorused the twins from the back corner of the room.
“No, we definitely did this yesterday,” Harry chimed in.
“Okay, you’re both insane,” replied Ron.
“No, yesterday you idiots opened this same box and Crookshanks ate the doxy eggs in the corner.” Ginny pointed at her brother, “And Fred, you definitely took doxy eggs yesterday. I distinctly remember,” Ginny panicked to a room of blank stares. Only Harry seemed to not be looking at her like she had two heads.
“I think the house is getting to you, Gin,” George said.
“No, I am with Ginny on this one. In the wardrobe Ron and Hermione were cleaning, Sirius’s Grandpa has an Order of Merlin for ‘Services to the Ministry.’ Ron tried on the medal and wore it for the next hour after we found it,” Harry pointed out.
George walked over to the wardrobe and dug around the opened drawer, pulling out an emerald green handkerchief that had dark spots splattered on it which could be blood, picking something small up and not so discreetly tucking it into his pocket, before proudly brandishing a gold medal with a big M on the front.
“Merlin, it’s Merlin!” George exclaimed.
“You’re going to do all of my Divination homework for me this year, mate,” Ron said, reaching for the medal in George’s hands. “Look at me,” Ron said, placing the medal over his head, and puffing out his chest to brandish the medal, “Order of Merlin, First Class award winner.”
Fred snatched the medal off of Ron. “I don’t think they hand out Order of Merlin’s for being the biggest git, Ronnikins.”
“If I ever win an Order of Merlin, it will be because I put up with you,” Ron said, snatching the medal back.
“Okay, but how did you know that Harry?” Hermione asked.
“I told you, we did this yesterday!” Harry exclaimed.
“No, Harry, we did not,” Hermione retorted.
“Okay we didn’t,” Ginny said, pointing at the group, “But Harry and I did.”
It is important to note that Slytherin's Locket is in all the stuff that they are cleaning (that is an important tool that will become important later!)
They try talking with the adults and they can't come up with a solution. They think that Voldemort may have done something to Harry in the graveyard or someone at the ministry did something to Harry during his hearing and Ginny gets mad at all them for forgetting her. Harry and Ginny relive the next few days in frustration.
our next scene takes place on top of the roof of Grimmauld Place
“Well, I had the stupid thought that maybe if we both stayed up all night, the clock couldn’t reset. And I thought, why not at least start our night out here. We can go back inside later if you get too cold, Mr. I’m-too-good-for-a-jumper, but for now, being under the stars is nice. We don’t get out much anymore,” Ginny rambled.
“It’s not stupid.” Harry reassured her.
Ignoring the swoop in her stomach again, Ginny layed down on the blanket and stared up at the stars. She had always found the night sky fascinating. When she would sneak out at night to steal one of her older brother’s brooms for a night fly, she would always end the night staring up at the dark sky above her. Coming up on the roof at night made her feel slightly more at home, even if the sky does not get as dark nor the stars as bright as they did at the Burrow.
“Why do you think it was us?” Ginny softly asked. “Why us and not you and Ron, or the twins? Or not even all of us?”
Harry joined Ginny laying down on the blanket, his arm slightly pressing against hers. Neither one moved. Ginny regretted throwing on the jumper so that her skin could actually touch Harry’s. Still, she could feel the heat radiating off of his arm that made her entire body flush with warmth.
“I don’t know,” replied Harry, turning his head to face Ginny. “I keep thinking back to the first day, maybe there was something we did just the two of us that caused this, but I keep drawing a blank. We were all in the drawing room cleaning, we all ate the same food all day. Ron and I played chess that night and you and Hermione watched, but why wouldn’t Ron and Hermione also be experiencing this if that was the cause. I just don’t know.”
“No one seems to know,” Ginny said in response, thinking back over the last several days when the adults tried to help, but no solution was given.
Ginny looked down at Harry’s wristwatch. Five minutes until midnight. Making it past midnight is their first big obstacle, if they could make it to the 15th, then maybe they can break free from time’s grasp on them.
“I’m sorry if I somehow caused this,” Harry whispered.
Ginny sat straight up and turned to Harry. “Let’s get one thing clear, you are not apologizing for something that is not your fault. Especially when so much of what is going on is unknown. You got that, Harry Potter?”
“Gin,” Harry said sitting up, “Let’s be realistic, when I am around, things have a tendency to go to shit. People get hurt because of me.”
Ginny understood immediately. Cedric.
Ginny placed her hand over Harry’s, “You were not the reason Cedric is dead, Harry. You didn’t kill him.”
“But if I didn’t tell him to grab the stupid cup with me, he would still be alive.”
“And if I didn’t write in that damn diary, I would not have been the reason so many people were petrified two years ago. I could have directly killed every single one of them, they were all just lucky. Harry, I understand the guilt you are carrying right now, but I also know that it was not our fault those things happened. It is Tom’s fault.”
Harry studied Ginny’s face, trying to understand. “I’m sorry, I sometimes forget everything you’ve been through.”
“It’s fine,” Ginny shrugged, “I’ve mostly moved on. Try not to let Tom control me anymore than he already has.”
Harry bumped Ginny’s shoulder with his own, “Voldemort sucks doesn’t he?”
Ginny snorted. “That is one way to put it.”
Harry grinned down at Ginny. She could feel her cheeks begin to pink again. It wasn’t the same when she used to turn into a tomato and freeze up next to him. This felt warm like a summer day at the Burrow. Comfortable and Safe.
And then Ginny woke up.
Chapter 2
this chapter is really just the getting into shenanagans chapter. They fly brooms through the halls together. They completely destroy a room they are supposed to clean to get our their frustrations. One day Ginny pretends she is sick because she doesn't want to deal with it all and Harry brings her food.
The end of this chapter they go to Hogwarts to corner Dumbledore to see if he can actually help them because he avoids Grimmauld, so they haven't got his advice yet.
Inside the Headmaster’s office sat their headmaster himself behind his desk, hands gently crossed on the desk in front of him. The famous twinkle in Dumbledore’s eye was absent. Dozens of picture frames of former headmaster’s sat behind him. One of them gave a loud scoff at the sight of the two teenagers. The voice of Phineas Nigellus spoke, “Your mother is quite upset with you, child. She is making such a ruckus, yelling at all your siblings. My worthless great-great-grandson is doing quite a horrible job at calming her down.”
Dumbledore raised a hand in the air, and Phineas Nigellus immediately quieted down. “Please Phineas, can you return to your other frame and inform Molly Weasley that her daughter and Mr. Potter are safe in my office.” Phineas gave another grunt, but quickly existed left out of frame. Dumbledore returned his focus to the pair in front of him. “Now, why do I have the pleasure of this early morning visit from two students who should be at home right now?” Dumbledore asked them sternly.
Ginny rarely interacted with her Headmaster. A quick hello in passing in the halls on sporadic instances. Then there was that one time her second year he invited her up to his office to share some hot chocolate to see how she was holding up after the events of her first year. She was intimidated and lied saying she was fine, then promptly ignored the offer to seek him out if she were to ever need anything. So when she was lightly scolded by her Headmaster, she looked down at the ground in shame.
Harry, however, had no such qualms of embarrassment. “We need help, and I was hoping you could provide that for us, sir.” The bite and anger that was in Harry’s voice at the start of the summer was back as if the sight of Albus Dumbledore triggered the feelings of resentment and anger to return.
“Harry… I need you to take a moment to collect yourself.”
“Ginny and I have been stuck reliving the same day over and over again!” Harry yelled, each work punched with emphasis. “WE HAVE BEEN STUCK FOR MONTHS AND NO ONE CAN HELP US! YOU WON’T HELP US!”
Harry seized a glass instrument on the table and threw it against the wall. Ginny recognized the seriousness of the situation they were in and the hurt that Harry felt, but she did want to give him a score of 9 out of 10 for that throw.
Harry’s chest heaved, “I WANT TO BE NORMAL! WHY - DO - SHITTY - THINGS - KEEP - HAPPENING - TO - ME?” Harry yelled, voice hoarse with emotion. He kicked at the leg of the small wooden table causing it to crumble to the ground.
Ginny cautiously took a few steps forward, “Harry?” she questioned, voice soft. Harry whipped around to face her, eyes alight with rage. However, they softened when the green eyes met her brown. Harry turned back to Dumbledore, much stiller than before.
Dumbledore slowly rose from his desk and walked around to his pensive in the corner of the room, ignoring Harry as he walked past. He picked up the basin and brought it to the center of the room, floating between the three of them. “Miss Weasley,” Dumbledore turned to her, “I am trusting you with sensitive information, that I have full faith in that you will keep to yourself.” Ginny could only nod at this request.
Dumbledore spoke to Harry, “There is a prophecy.” Then he pulled out his wand taking a silver stream of a memory from his head and placing it in the pensive. A figure began to rise out of the basin. Professor Trelawney spoke in a loud, harsh tone.
“THE ONE WITH THE POWER TO VANQUISH THE DARK LORD APPROACHES. . . . BORN TO THOSE WHO HAVE THRICE DEFIED HIM, BORN AS THE SEVENTH MONTH DIES . . . AND THE DARK LORD WILL MARK HIM AS HIS EQUAL, BUT HE WILL HAVE POWER THE DARK LORD KNOWS NOT . . . AND EITHER MUST DIE AT THE HAND OF THE OTHER FOR NEITHER CAN LIVE WHILE THE OTHER SURVIVES. . . . THE ONE WITH THE POWER TO VANQUISH THE DARK LORD WILL BE BORN AS THE SEVENTH MONTH DIES. . . .”
A quiet hum fell over the room. Ginny held her breath, not wanting to be the first to make a sound. Eventually, Harry was the one to break the tension. “What… what exactly does that mean?” Harry paused, drawing in a breath, “Does that mean me?”
“Everything that has happened to you, is because Lord Voldemort decided it to be when he chose you.” Dumbledore stood in front of his pensive, but looked directly at Harry. “He marked you as an equal on that fateful Halloween evening in Godric’s Hollow.
Chapter 3:
The moping, but surprisingly, moping by Ginny and not Harry after hearing the prophecy. She thinks that the only way to end the time loop is to do something drastic. So, Ginny kills herself.
Thankfully, she wakes up the next day and Harry is not happy with her.
The bedroom door opened with a bang.
“Harry!” Hermione shrieked, “We aren’t dressed yet!”
Ginny pulled back the blanket over her head and peered at the doorway to see a very disheveled Harry. He was still wearing his pajama bottoms and a shirt two times too large for him which must have once belonged to his cousin. His hair was sticking up out of place more than usual like he had literally just gotten out of bed.
“Ginny,” Harry sighed, almost looking relieved. And then his attitude shifted. Ginny noticed his eyes darken and his posture stiffen before he strode over to her bed.
He was pissed.
“What the absolute fuck was that, Ginevra Weasley!”
Oh, he is using her full name. He is really pissed. Angrier at her than he was at Dumbledore. She just hoped he wouldn’t chuck any crystal lamps at her head.
“Do you realize what the consequences could have been for your actions yesterday? Do you realize how incredibly stupid you were?”
He could be as mad as he wanted to be, but he was not going to call her stupid. She thought about this long and hard. She was not stupid. Ginny jumped out of bed and stood toe to toe with Harry, not planning on backing down from his anger.
“Obviously I knew what the consequences were going to be, Harry. Did you even read the letter?”
“Did I even read the letter?” Harry spluttered, “Yes I fucking read the letter. I read both of them. I realize you have some flaws like how feisty and short-tempered you are, but, damn, I never realized how selfish you could be too! Did you even think about how everyone would react when they found you dead? No, of course you didn’t!”
“How dare you? Of course I did, Harry! I thought about it for days!”
“For days!” Harry shrieked. “And you didn’t think to maybe tell me?”
“You know exactly why I didn’t tell you. You wouldn’t let me try!” Ginny pushed back.
“No shit, I wouldn’t have let you try because it was a dumb idea! If you brought it up to me, maybe you would have realized the consequences! Did you think about your family? You should have seen the way your mom sobbed all night long. Or the way Fred and George did not laugh let alone smile for the entire evening. Ron cried for hours blaming himself for something entirely not his fault! Hermione was the one who found you! Her scream echoed through the house and scared all of us!”
Hermione finally spoke up after hearing her name, “Harry,” Hermione said warely, “What are you even talking about?”
Harry put his hand up in Hermione’s direction, not even looking at her. “Not now, Hermione!”
“Oye! Don’t yell at her, she didn’t even do anything wrong!” Ron’s voice echoed from somewhere behind Harry.
“See, Harry!” Ginny yelled, ignoring the audience they have, “They don’t even remember. It doesn’t matter. It didn’t work, let’s move on!”
Harry growled at those words. “Fuck Ginny! I remember! You killed yourself yesterday, and I will always remember that! Yesterday was the worst day of my life! You know what the worst day of my life was before then? The day you got taken down to the Chamber of Secrets!”
“Why do you even care so much if I really did die?”
“Merlin, Ginny because,” And then Harry, as though without thinking, or truly even planning it, grabbed her face, pulled her up to him and kissed her.
Oh.
Ginny was frozen in shock for a second, trying to fully grasp what exactly was happening. And then she was kissing him back. As a little girl, she had always wondered what it would be like to kiss Harry Potter. She imagined it to be soft and tender, maybe he would brush her hair back behind her ear before he leaned down to press his lips to hers. She never expected it to be so heated. Ginny wrapped her arms around his back and pressed her entire body into him. Minutes ago she had died, but now she had never felt more alive.
The rest of the chapter is them just trying and miserably failing at secret dating during the various days that they keep reliving.
“You would think that we would know enough hiding places by now to not keep getting caught.”
“If Sirius gives you the talk again, that is on you.”
The end of the chapter is when the reveal that the chest Slytherin's Locket is kept in also happens to have a broken time turner in it! (oooohhh)
Chapter 4: (This is where we jump the shark)
Harry and Ginny sneak out of the house and go on a date at Diagon Alley! But war is a thing, and Harry and Ginny should not be wandering around Diagon Alley all by themselves and lol, guess what, they get kidnapped by death eaters and taken to Voldemort.
They go to Malfoy Manor, and they realize that the best way to escape is actually by killing themselves because they know it won't actually stick thanks to Ginny's early attempt. They also are worried that if Voldemort kills Harry that then the prophecy might actually stick, so Ginny kills Harry by stabbing him with a knife. Unfortunately, before she can turn and kill herself, the Death Eaters stop her and take her to Voldemort.
A dangerous thought crossed her mind.
This was either going to extend her pain or kill her sooner. She hoped to Merlin it would kill her sooner.
“Do all 16 year old boys keep a diary, or was that just something you did Tom?”
Voldemort stopped torturing the Death Eater who captured her and turned to face Ginny.
“How dare you use that name, little girl! How did you know of the diary?”
“I wrote in it. We became fast friends. Unfortunately it's gone now. Harry destroyed it, and killed your pet snake as well. You can thank Mr. Malfoy over there for giving it to me.”
A flash of light was sent Ginny’s direction, she didn’t even have time to recognize that the color was not green before she fell to the ground in excruciating pain. It was like every nerve fiber was on fire and then on ice. It was unbearable. Ginny couldn’t tell if she was screaming or not. Her blood was pounding in her ears, and her head felt like it was going to explode. And then it was over.
“You gave one of my horcruxes to a teenage girl?”
“My Lord, I was not aware that it was a horcrux.”
“Avada Kedavra!”
Unfortunately for Ginny, it was Lucius Malfoy that fell to the ground dead and not her.
From her position on the floor, Ginny could see Voldemort kick Lucius Malfoy’s body out of the way before he sauntered over to her. Voldemort crouched down to Ginny’s level, pointing his wand at her.
“You might think that I would be thankful to the person who killed Harry Potter.” Voldemort said, tracing a pattern across Ginny’s face, “But they would be wrong. I was to be the one to kill the boy, and yet a teenage girl does it instead. My only question is why?”
Ginny let out a whimper as Voldemort’s wand continued to jab her cheek.
“You speak when Voldemort speaks to you,” Voldemort sneered.
“I didn’t want you to get to Harry, Tom -” before Ginny could even finish the sentence, Voldemort sent another cruciatus curse at her. Somehow the pain was more excruciating than the first time the spell hit her.
“How dare you! Potter may have killed the basilisk, but he did not get to Nagini. You will become quick friends with her.” Voldemort said, standing up and walking away from her. The familiar sounds of parseltongue were heard. Ginny looked up to see Voldemort’s pet snake slithering towards her with its jaw wide open. Nagini striked, biting down on Ginny’s neck.
The pain was different from the cruciatus, but just as painful.
“Kill me, please just kill me,” Ginny begged. And then Nagini struck again.
Ginny wakes up. And then it is basically a repeat of the time that Ginny first killed herself where Harry crashes into her and Hermione's room panicking that Ginny is dead.
The chapter ends with Ginny asking Harry if he knew what a horcrux was.
Chapter 5: LAST CHAPTER!
Everyone finds out what a horcrux is and realizes that the locket is one. We destroy the locket! With the sword, Ginny also gets to do it because Ginny deserves to destroy a horcrux!
And, like I have said before, I just really like digging into Ginny's trauma with Tom. So like the boggart scene in I Go On Too Many Dates and in the other graveyard fic, Haunted, I have Ginny face Tom again.
“How are you going to open it?” Ginny asked.
“Parsaltongue,” Harry replied, the answer somehow obvious now to the both of them. “Ginny,” Harry warned, “it is going to fight back. Are you sure you want to do this? I am sure Dumbledore-”
“Harry, we both know that it has to be one of us,” Ginny interrupted, “and you got to do it last time.”
Harry nodded at her, and set the locket down on top of the table. A quick swing down and then this nightmare would all be over. Ginny’s hands tightened on the handle of the Sword of Gryffindor. Just one swing.
With a hiss from Harry, the locket springs open.
With shaky hands, Ginny lifts the sword above her head. Just one swing. Why can’t she swing? Looking down at the locket, the eyes that have continued to haunt her nightmares for the past 3 summers stared back at her. Then the voice that haunts her began to speak.
“Ginny, I have missed you. Look at you, all grown up, but still so young. So naive. So stupid.”
Out of the locket’s windows, two figures grew: one of Tom Riddle, the other of Harry.
Ginny lowered the sword out of shock.
“Ginny, stab it!” Harry shouted from a million miles away.
The voice of Riddle-Harry was much louder. “Do you really think that I could truly love you? That this bond we have formed was not out of desperation? Are you that stupid that you think I will continue to want to be around you once we break free from this loop?”
Ginny backed away as the figures of Tom Riddle and the dark Harry sauntered towards her.
Tom Riddle spoke next.
“I know everything about you Ginevra Weasley. I know how you hate to be coddled because you are the youngest. I know that worry that you disappoint your own mother because you are not the daughter that she always wanted. I know that even though you are a Gryffindor, you are still terrified.” Riddle stood directly in front of Ginny, “terrified of me. You have so many demons, and they all look like me, don’t they? I haunt your dreams. Hasn’t it been so nice not dreaming lately? You have almost forgotten about me? You have gotten to live out your childhood fantasies of being the love of Harry Potter.
“Do you really want to lose that?” Tom Riddle asked, a long, cold finger hovering over Ginny’s cheek. Almost to brush away a nonexistent tear.
No, she didn’t want to lose that at all. Tom terrified her. The diary may be long gone, but Tom was still a part of who Ginny was since the Chamber. Ginny looked over to the real Harry. Her Harry. Harry was the reason why Tom’s voice that used to echo around her skull, had softened to a whisper. The risk of nightmares returning and Harry moving on was worth ending the loop. It was worth ending Tom.
Ginny rushed forward with the sword brandished over her head and swung down on the metal locket, shattering it into pieces. Both Tom Riddle and Riddle-Harry vanished with a scream. Ginny dropped the sword to the ground, sinking to her knees next to it. Warm arms embraced her. Ginny turned to the familiar scent of Harry that was her best source of comfort during the past few months.
“He’s gone,” Whispered Harry, muffled by Ginny’s hair. Ginny clung on to Harry tighter. “He’s gone,” Harry repeated, “But I’m not going anywhere. It’s going to take a lot more than that for you to get rid of me. If one thing is for certain, Gin, it’s that you and I are stuck together.”
Ginny gave Harry a watery smile. “I know.” She could still hear the chill of Tom’s voice echoing around her skull. She knew this would only ignite the nightmares that have plagued her since the Chamber because Tom was right: she is still scared of him.
“Let’s go to the roof.”
Ginny and Harry just held onto each other for the rest of the night, whispering words of reassurance to each other. At some point, Ron and Hermione came up to join them. The four of them stared up at the stars, very few words passing between them, waiting for the clock to strike Midnight.
“Guys!” Hermione said, sitting up straight. “My watch says it's 12:04!”
“It’s past midnight?!”
“It’s past midnight!”
“Ginny!” Harry shouted, picking her up by the waist and spinning her around. “You did it, you’re amazing!” Ginny giggled.
“You do realize they are not going to forget this time and we will actually have to deal with the consequences of my family knowing we are dating, right?”
“You are so worth it.” Harry said, grinning down at Ginny and kissing her.
AND THAT IS IT!
I have honestly had thoughts about what comes after all of this: Harry basically being like "lol no" to Cho as soon as he saw her, Ginny breaking up with Michael Corner because she basically cheated on him for over a year with Harry. The fact that, technically, both Harry and Ginny aged a year despite not moving forward a day, so does that then cause them to lose the trace a year earlier? The fact that we know about horcruxes a year earlier, and destroyed one a year earlier, so how does that impact the rest of the story.
etc. etc.
The world will never know

anyone else think during that scene in s6 where Josephine says “just say what you want to say” and there’s a long pause with Bellamy staring at her before he says “I won’t let you die” that maybe he wanted to say something more? Like I love you or something like that.. because the way he was staring at her so intensely and how long it took him to say it always makes me think that, at least imo 😅 (idk if this sent twice, it said error the first time so sorry if it did lol)
Oh yes, that scene was absolutely like that! I think we all knew this is exactly what he thought! The tension, the PAUSE, it's all just so *ugh* *screams in Bellarke*, like Eliza said on Conageddon "KISS!" it can be so frustrating yet everything about them is so beautiful it makes my heart melt. You can see how much that silly dum dum Bellboy loves his beautiful Clarke and how HARD he fights for her, all jokes aside, he really did fight for her so much, even before the CPR scene, even before that season, he walked through a damn forest bleeding and in pain just to try and save her from Roan, people really don't pay enough attention to the fact that he was willing to give his life for her and he put himself in danger multiple times for her!

Hello, Alexa!☺️
How are you?
A bit of a random Q, but! I remember you saying that the first fanfic you wrote
was ‘Oh Christmas Tree' and I was just wondering if there was any other fandoms
you ever thought about writing for? Even if you don’t want to publish them! :) An even more general question, what other fandoms would you say you're into?
I know it's a little random, but I just love hearing about other people's interests/loves! 🥰
(I’m sorry if you’ve answered these in some way before)
Have a lovely weekend!
Hi Bo!! 🌟 I'm so good! I'm having the best afternoon with some coffee and a treat from Trader Joe's and working on a fluffy oneshot! I hope you're doing well! I love seeing you pop in my inbox!
The call of Bradley with a pine tree allergy and getting his best girl a fluffy pink one was too strong for me to resist! It was such a new thing for me that I wrote the whole thing on the notes app on my phone, it didn't even cross my mind to open a word doc for it, lol.
It's such a funny thing that for the years and years that I've jotted down ideas and dialogue that I never once thought of actually sitting down and trying my hand at writing fanfic until last year!
More for you under the cut!
My first foray into fandom and fanfic was when I was a nugget out there wilding on fanfic.net and shipping Clark/Lana from Smallville and Padme/Anakin from Star Wars. (back when I didn't even know what shipping meant, lol)
In college, I didn't have much time to read books because of all the school work, so I turned to fanfic again and got really into The Hunger Games. Dandelion Peeta had my heart, and all the modern AUs really softened the dystopian angst. That fandom had so many truly terrific writers, ones that I still follow even today.
Which is how I ended up becoming a big The 100 girlie. Some of my favorite THG authors started posting and writing for a couple of the main characters on that show and I was hooked. (it's been a lot of fun to learn that some of my fav TGM babes were also the 100 babes, so we've trauma bonded over it, haha)
And let me tell you, I need to be financially COMPENSATED by the CW for the chokehold this man had on me for like 5 years. (the hair! the gravely voice! the chin dimple! the biceps! the grumpy king with a heart of gold!)
If I was going to write for another fandom, it would be that one. Bellarke (bellamy blake and clarke griffin) still has my heart. At the height of it, I was spending hours every day reading fic for them. The chemistry between them was bananas and every week I was waiting on baited breath for any little interaction between them. It's funny now because the actors are actually married now, haha! The show gave us crumbs and went out with such a tragic whimper, but the fandom and the incredible talent there is probably why I was so invested and still read fics about them on AO3.
When I reread my favorite series The Winners Trilogy by Marie Rutkoski I fall DEEP into an Arin/Kestrel spiral. It's such an underrated YA series that I'm pretty sure I've read every piece of fanfiction that's out there (which isn't nearly enough) at least 5 times.
There was a brief Jon Snow/Daenerys Targaryen GOT era, but it was short lived.
I also like the Darkling/Alina dynamic from Shadow and Bone. I read the series when the books first came out before the show, and wasn't particularly enamored with them as a couple. But then they had to go and cast the pretty bearded attention whore that is Ben Barnes and I had simply no choice but to ship, lol.
I always joke and say that I don't pick the hyperfixations, that they choose me. But it's really true. The 100 ended in 2020 and I didn't have anything really capture my attention in the same way until TGM. This is the first fandom that I've really participated in, like getting to know other people and creating content! And it's been so wonderful!
Oof! Well, this got out of control quickly, lol. This was such a fun ask to get! I haven't been asked before, so I really went off the deep end here giving you my full life fandom history, haha!
#answers from alexa#inbox 💌#this got out of control very quickly lol#i am also very happy to rec fics to anyone if we have some of the same fandom interests!

20 questions for fic writers ✍️
Tagged by @spotsandsocks 💋
i should warn everyone that i am drunk so if any of the following doesn't make sense, you can blame the wine 🤫
How many works do you have on ao3?
18
What’s your total ao3 word count?
95,119
What fandoms do you write for?
9-1-1, Captain America Trilogy
Top five fics by kudos
(all of them are 9-1-1 )
I hardly know you—but sometimes things are so transparent (13,330 words)
(Sub)conscious habits (4,664 words)
you talk of the pain like it’s all alright (but I know) (2,260 words)
My soul is in the sky (1,378 words)
Testing the waters (4,686 words)
Do you respond to comments?
Always !
What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
I usually have happy endings. i guess the angstiest would be "Five", which is a very sad Bucky Barnes x reader oneshot.
What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
All of my buddie fics have happy endings, some ecstatic some simply hopeful. I guess the happiest would be (Sub)conscious Habits.
Also I hardly know you—but sometimes things are so transparent (bucktommy) us pretty happy :)
Do you get hate on fics?
thankful nothing so far
Do you write smut?
Oh I've tried it. Gay smut only once, for Buddie (fic: Testing the waters)
Then comes my SexWorker!Bucky x reader fic that is still ongoing. (i haven't forgotten about you my sweet Bucky girls, I swear! <3)
Craziest crossover:
Buddie + Patrochilles in Epic Bonds
Have you ever had a fic stolen?
not as far as i know
Have you ever had a fic translated?
i doubt it
Have you ever co-written a fic?
No, but I'd be open to it.
All time favorite ship?
Oof, it's like choosing between your kids. When it comes to writing though, there is no doubt: BUDDIE <3
What's a wip you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
There is one about jealous Eddie that has been sitting in my drafts since the lucy/buck kiss in season 5, so...
What are your writing strengths?
oh i don't know. i can't be objective. I have received comments about how the readers can deeply feel the characters' inner struggles and emotional state, so i guess that counts?
What are your writing weaknesses?
I am so basic! I hardly ever have original ideas.
Thoughts on dialogue in another language?
nope, i hate writing in a language i am not fluent in
First fandom you ever wrote in?
the 100/bellarke but never published anything
Favorite fic you’ve written?
probably my lease popular buddie fic:
Nobody has ever been saved alone.
It's a tragic three times story that has to do with Buck and Eddie's PTSD and it contains my version of Eddie's 5b breakdown. I poured my heart and soul into this piece, i am extremely proud of it, it is deeply personal because I was in a the toughest mental state in my life.

Writer Asks
Thanks for the tag, @demonscantgothere and @theriverwild ❤️
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
16
2. What's your total A03 words count?
351,191
3. What fandoms do you write for?
The Rings of Power, The Silmarillion/Lord of the Rings, Cursed
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
(667) To Follow the Light (ROP- Halbrand/Galadriel)
(542) In Pursuit (Cursed- Nimue/Lancelot)
(510) Accursed Salvation (Cursed- Nimue/Lancelot)
(424) The Lesser of Two Evils (ROP- Sauron/Galadriel)
(264) On the Twelfth Night, or, Epiphany: How Galadriel Seduced a Priest and Discovered the True Meaning of Christmas (ROP-Halbrand/Galadriel)
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
Yes. Not always as timely as I should, but I appreciate every one of them!
6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Oh boy. Not finished with it yet, but I’m sure it will be the Lesser of Two Evils. Of finished fics, probably Into Darkness Fell His Star (a canon-adjacent doomed romance between Gil-galad and Celebrían)
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
On the Twelfth Night, for sure. It’s a Christmas fic and one of the few that actually has a happy ending.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
No, thankfully. But I don’t really write anything exciting/controversial.
9. Do you write smut? If so what kind?
Yep. Comparatively, probably pretty vanilla, but I did write a threesome one time.
10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
No. I’m not that ambitious.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I know of.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Nope, but had a friend do a podfic for a couple chapters of Two Evils, which was pretty cool.
13. Have you ever cowritten a fic before?
No, but I’m open to it!
14. What's your all-time favourite ship?
This is an impossible question. Bellarke has a special place in my heart. Honorable mentions: CaptainSwan, Reylo, Haladriel, Celrond, and Celreinion
15. What's a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?
I want to finish them all, but I’m so absorbed in all things Tolkien that I’m not sure when I’ll get back to those first ones.
16. What are your writing strengths?
Characterization and dialogue. Or so I’ve been told. I’ve also been told I’m funny, and you better believe that went to my head.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Description. I don’t see anything when I read, and it carries over to writing sometimes.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
Yup. I’m a bit of a linguistics nerd, and I’m writing Tolkien-related things, so if it fits for the characters/situation, I’m all for it. But I try to include it in a way that doesn’t require footnotes to understand what’s going on, because that can take me out of a story.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
This little show called Cursed on Netlfix. I got bored during covid lockdown and decided to try my hand at fic writing. But the show got cancelled after one season.
20. Favourite fic you've ever written?
Hmmmm. A recent one, but I think it might be this is the winter of our youth. (Modern Celreinion). This fic was a lot of things I don’t usually write, but it was a story I really enjoyed telling and I’m really happy with how it turned out.
Tagging: I'm not sure who has done this and who hasn't, but I'll tag @scriberated @myfavouritelunatic @cliffdivingsblog @klynnvakarian , @myrsinemezzo, @pursuitseternal and @rebelrebelwrites. No pressure, though!

The 100 Rewatch 2023 Season 1, Episode 1 “Pilot“
Alrighty, live-blogging The 100. If only 2020!Me could see me now.
First off, let me gather myself.
I’ll preface this by saying I’ve recently gotten obsessed with The Rookie shortly before embarking on this rewatch. I’ve forgotten how thrilling it is to fall head over heels for a new ship. Chenford has made me so deliriously ecstatic and in such good spirits that it triggered a sort of informal revival tour of my favorite ships. When the Bellarke compilation on YouTube came up next in queue, I chickened out just as quickly as the first ad popped up. Knowing how their story ends, I was afraid that Bellarke wouldn’t feel the same. That the ending would taint my memory of them upon revisitation.
All of which is to say, this rewatch should be an interesting experiment.
Alright, best get a wriggle on.
Oh, baby!Clarke. And just like that, I’m transported seven years ago to my dining table, where I first pressed “play” on a little CW show that would consume me.
100 years until the Earth is survivable again, eh? Killed everyone, huh? In roughly a year’s time, she’ll be the one thought to have perished in radiation.
“Reality sucks.” Babe, you don’t know the half of it.
The wristbands feel like an ancient relic.
It really has been such a long time since I watched season 1. I’m lost in time. At this point, it really does feel like your typical CW teen drama, and it’s such a strange thought, considering how long I’ve been holding onto the bulk of the narrative where it departed into its unique footprint.
“The rules have changed.” Because *I* made them change, is what’s left unspoken by Abby.
“Your instincts will tell you to take care of everybody else first...” Yep, two minutes in, and I’m emotional.
Baby!Delinquents!!!!
A good bedside manner, Jaha does not possess. There’s blunt and there’s brash, and he is solidly in the latter. The thing about juvenile delinquents? They’re KIDS. Sure, you’ve got the odd murderer in the ranks, but they are few and far in between a sea of children with offenses probably befitting a slight slap on the wrist, if that.
“Your records wiped clean.” Assuming the lab rats don’t expire from radiation upon arrival. Way to incentivize them. Little wonder Bellamy will so easily corral them into removing the wristbands.
For once, the fluke in the plan works to their advantage. If those kids had landed at Mount Weather as intended...*shudder*
Shut up, Finn.
100 + 1 - 2 = A landing party of 99. Check. 👍
“The air could be toxic.”
There they are. The chance encounter of the loves of my life. And of each other’s life.
I want to say something here about the Blake siblings, but I’m too preoccupied with internally screaming at the sight of my bby boy on my screen again.
Have I mentioned that I’m adrift in time??
Little do these three know how entangled their fates will be. From here on out, they will be the trio comprising the foundation of this entire saga. The trifecta.
“Like being the first person on the ground in 100 years.” “First one to touch the ground loses.” My oh my.
I AM AWASH IN NOSTALGIA
I WILL BE BLASTING RADIOACTIVE AFTER THIS EPISODE AND YES IT WILL BE STUCK IN MY HEAD FOR THE REST OF THE NIGHT
Oh, back when it was all so simple...
I’m conflicted. I want the perfect marriage of this simplicity before the wars with S6 Bellarke at the helm. Basically, what season 7 should have been. Don’t we all? *sigh*
Finn is such a chameleon, it’s infuriating. He is whatever fantasy version he thinks will earn him brownie points with the pretty girl. I can’t believe there was a time when I didn’t mind him. He was every bit the textbook teen heartthrob with floofy hair I thought wouldn’t be so bad. Basically, this dude, with a slightly deceptive edge.
By now, Clarke and Wells had ingrained themselves into my heart. Too soon, you say? Perhaps. But it was always the logical, pragmatic, responsible characters I found myself leaning to. Always the ones I felt should be in charge.
You’ve been on the ground for a minute, Murphy, how’d you put together a posse already?
Poor Wells. He’s so sensible here, and he’s ignored because of the tall shadow his father casts. I do wonder the man Wells would have become had he lived. I’m not under any impression that he would be stagnantly stalwart. The axiom of a show continually striving to push its characters to the brink is that no one is incorruptible, even those we approximate most to pure cinnamon rolls. There is no such animal in this narrative.
“Do you think we care who’s in charge? We need to get to Mount Weather not because the Chancellor said so, but because the longer we wait, the hungrier we’ll get and the harder this’ll be. How long do you think we’ll last without those supplies? We’re looking at a 20-mile trek, ok? So if we want to get there before dark, we need to leave now.”
Bellamy knew. I don’t mean it in a “he was in love with her at first sight” kind of way. He correctly assessed her right here and then as one who could seize control as the de facto leader of the camp. And where would it put him and Octavia then, if the princess got her way, if the Ark came down as planned? No, what appears as attitude toward Clarke and Wells is a well thought-out ploy to wrestle the camp in his favor in their absence. And it worked.
Oh, right. I remember. Here’s the faux-hero complex that ingratiated Finn to my good side.
“Rescue me next.” Icky.
“I need to just do something crazy just because I can, and no one, including you, is gonna stop me.” You will not lack opportunity for craziness. One might say you will not miss any chance, including, but not limited to, tyranny.
Oh, no. The evil black lightbulb is going off in Rebel!Bellamy’s head.
“Before you get any ideas, I don’t care.” You really should have stuck to these guns, Clarke.
“The Chancellor’s been shot.” *record scratch*
Jasper and Monty, precious, innocent beans. Before the world scarred them so badly. As close as brothers, who will one day branch off into diametrically oppositional philosophies about humanity and the meaning of life. One to nilihism, one to hope.
“Being born.” Cue the bunker flashbacks. As many mistakes as she will make in her pursuit of agency, Octavia’s initial resentment toward the Ark cannot be blamed. By the laws of the Ark, she was born a criminal by virtue of existing. Lost her mother, displaced from her brother and her home, what little there was, and lost a year of her life, during which she could presume she’d be killed the moment the illusion of civility peeled away when she turned of age.
Weird the mutant monsters swiftly disappeared, but these kids had enough problems on their plate.
Though Abby will catch a lot of flak later on from the fandom, I hardly think anyone wouldn’t cheer her on in the pilot. I know I always have been. She’s on the praiseworthy delineation of “rebel.”
“He’s no one. A janitor.”
Good one, Shumway.
“Her mother kept her hidden for 16 years. Nearly a record.” I’m sorry? Nearly a record? What is the record for “longest hidden kid,” then?
I still take it with a grain of salt that Bellamy and Octavia would be the only siblings in 97 years on this orbiting hunk of metal. Presumably, there would be plenty more in Aurora’s predicament. Poor women from the lower classes with limited, if not scarce access to medical resources. Women who didn’t want to abort their second child. Mixed families. Multiple spouses, what with the death toll of a justice system embroiled in capital punishment. Step-children, half-siblings. It makes you wonder what kind of medieval laws an unforgiving society like the Ark would enact to ensure its rigid population control.
I will say the power struggle between Abby, Jaha, and Kane, with the morality conflicts emerging from the Ark, was what first drew me in to this show. The kids were...the teens from your average CW show on your average stilted CW pilot. The Ark adults were intriguing and provocative. For me, at least.
I have to hand it to Bellamy. Both he and Clarke know how to make compelling arguments for their causes. It’s a shame how Clarke’s station is her albatross (for the time being) when she has everyone’s best interest in mind. For once, Bellamy’s origin from Factory Station is his advantage. He can connect to these errant kids seeking freedom like Clarke cannot. It’s a good metaphor for how subversive the worlds of the Ark and Earth appear to be. Visually, yes, between the muted grays of space versus the bright colors of Earth, but also, the visages of emancipation and carte blanche versus confinement and restraint between the adults and the kids.
And yet, while Bellamy offers the kids the allure of freedom, it’s really a facade as he cleverly maneuvers himself to the top just as the same as the leadership hierarchy he resents. Smart of him, until he runs afoul of a betrayed Murphy.
It’s funny how out-of-touch the adults are with the kids. Never does it occur to them that the kids they imprisoned are voluntarily removing the wristbands to escape the Ark’s reach until another kid clues Abby in.
“So that was the secret they locked you up to keep, why they kept you in solitary, floated your old man?” I know Finn’s laundry list of Clarke’s nightmares is for exposition, but it’s undermined when rattled off by this sleazebag with a poor attempt at compassion offered solely to charm her. In layman’s terms, shut up, Finn.
“My mother disagreed.” And it doesn’t occur to you that your mother may have been directly responsible for your father’s execution? It HAD to be Wells? I guess, had I been Clarke, it’s easier to blame him than to consider the horrifying reality of how Jake’s death came to be.
“We have to warn them.” “That’s what my father said.”
Once again, I am reminded of how little concerted effort Jason can put into a lot of these provisional relationships. Sometimes, the show skillfully communicates a layered storyline with very little footwork. Other times, it’s not so great.
Octavia had no way of knowing how deep the water was, monsters notwithstanding.
Our first foray into Jasper the Hero. It hurts already to think ahead to the hollow young man he’ll become when he can’t save the girl.
For a sea monster of that size, you’d think Octavia’s wounds would be larger. Like, a whole leg bitten off.
“Earth Day 2052″ I just noticed.
“Note to self: next time, save the girl.” Oh, you will, Monty.
Very evocative Lord of the Flies imagery.
“We can take care of ourselves, can’t we?” You are all a scrappy, resilient bunch, but you will soon find survival in this neck of the woods to be an uphill battle.
Love this exchange between Wells and Bellamy. Wells, of course, is right. Though Bellamy’s anger is not without reason. His argument is wrapped up in camp politics, but here we have a glimpse of the Bellamy who always tapped into his pain to persuade others to his side. The Bellamy who speaks from his heart, even when the message may be a little flawed in execution.
What about the kids whose loved ones remain on the Ark? How aren’t they hesitant about abandoning them?
Iconic.
Currently picturing Bob nursing a hangover for his Bellamy voice. Who knew alcohol could produce such beautiful results?
Do I detect a hint of wavering? I think I do. He knows Wells is right. Wise, even. He’s in too deep of this persona he thinks is crucial for his and Octavia’s protection to turn back now.
After years of watching the Bellamy we know and love, Baby!Bellamy is so jarring to revisit.
As is Kane.
“And I choose at every turn and at any cost to make sure that the human race stays alive.” “That’s the difference between us, Kane. I choose to make sure that we deserve to stay alive.” If nothing else the pilot did, it established our roadmap of the series in these three sentences. These two objectives have guided this story at each turn in equal measure. For Jason to claim at the very end that this story was only ever governed by cold and ruthless survival is a lie. Those of us who paid attention know it. It’s documented from the very first episode how these characters endeavor - strive - to aim for higher than the impossible decisions and questionable morality they are cornered into. The right ending of this narrative was to allow to finally achieve their second guiding principle. Let them use the hard-won lessons they’ve learned to build a golden age from out of the post-apocalypse. Let them LIVE.
Oh, what glory that bastard robbed from us.
Also, how the turntables with Kabby from now to their conclusions.
As pragmatic as Clarke is, she’s a dreamer. She’s always had such a wonderful vision of how beautiful the world could be. And I hate how often Jason stole her hope from her.
I forgot what unencumbered delight looked like on Clarke’s face.
Strictly speaking, I can’t say I shipped Finn and Clarke. I was very determined on my first viewing to not get sentimentally entangled with ships, knowing my penchant for walking away from shows when ships sink. (Oh, the irony.) I wanted to like this series. As I said, I was intrigued by the Ark arc. I was in it to see how things go. What I can say is I didn’t mind Finn and Clarke, as chosen apathy goes. Maybe a spark of ambivalence here and there before Raven shows up.
It’s disorienting to remember the Clarke so open to falling in love. Her primary directives are safety and obtaining the imperative amenities the kids need. But on a personal scale, after their immediate crises are solved, this Clarke wants to live.
“Now, you all think I’m a bad guy, but I’m the only one willing to do what it takes to save us.” Season 1 and Season 3 Bellamy will also believe the same, and time will humble both of these men.
“...and if I have to take us to a cosmic Adam and Eve, I will do it.” Serious nomon and nontu imagery whizzing through my brain of the various pairs symbolizing them. Kabby. Marper, paving the path for Book Two: “Everyone dies. Let’s show them how to live.” Bellarke, as nomon/nontu in its final form, representative of all the narrative’s themes. The story has always been, on some level, how their union saves the world.
Even Russell and Simone, as the versions that Bellamy and Clarke could have been if they were without a moral compass.
Nomon/Nontu is a legacy, spanning generations and centuries, intrinsically tied to the fate of humanity and the Earth. Add it to the extensive list of themes forgotten by the outlier nameless season.
I should have realized the first time around how there was more to Bellamy than meets the eye when he didn’t kill Wells. Certainly would have been easier for him in terms of divesting himself of a political rival.
Speaking of, Kane must know how valuable a resource Abby is to the Ark, especially now when their home is dying a slow death. Was civil obedience really more vital to the sustainability of this place than what Abby could provide? It’s a big, fat no. Then again, these are the people who killed the engineer to their life support systems.
Well, at least one of them has sense.
We’re in agreement that the pilot episode is cheesy as hell. Exactly in the wheelhouse of 2010s!Me. It was perfect. Oh, what? Did you think I wasn’t going to let the next episode play, right there on the dining table in 2015? Jasper’s just got speared through the chest!!! They’re not alone!!!
Tagging the brilliant @sometimesrosy for revitalizing this beloved show for me from the depths

I shipped Bellarke on the 100 as much as the next person, but I think they really missed an opportunity with Roan/Clarke. Maybe not as popular, but I'd love to see if you have anything new for them. And also very underappreciated are Charlie/Monroe. I would love to see any updates for Revolution stories😘 But any updates from any of your stories would be very appreciated. I miss your world building and originality.
Oh my gosh, same.
I was all about Bellarke at the beginning (and the irl romance between those two makes my heart happy too), but the Roarke ship was so robbed. There was so much potential for exploration there. I do actually have a number of roarke fics I've been squirrelling away, so hopefully, one day, they will be ready to publish.
I'm trying not to publish new things until I finish the open things.... or at least not to post them until they are, themselves, completed to avoid just adding to the endless pile of incomplete things.
And oh my gosh, yes! Charlie/Monroe... they have my whole heart, man. Like, the tension. The connection. The parallels. The drama of it all. Its so scrumptious! I have about 12 wips for them too, but again, trying not to share them while I have open things pending.
But one day, my friend, one day, they will be complete and I will hurl them into the gaping maw that is the fanfic abyss and hope there are still fans lurking that want to read my silly little stories about characters their own original creators have long since abandoned.

The bellarke-to-osblaine-pipeline ? oh my this is absolutely perfect !😅😅... we fell into it !
“The survival, the trauma, the heart, the head” omg you summed it up perfectly Stef 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Not to mention how devoted Nick is and how he refuses to let June go. Broke my heart when he said that he thinks he means nothing to her when that’s so clearly not the case (very Bellamy Blake of him).
I could go on and on about the parallels, my lord...the two of them talking about running away to Hawaii together instantly took me back to “Screw everyone else, let’s just go.” Also Nick’s “Freedom agrees with you” + Bell’s “Happiness looks good on you.” Nick looking out for Hannah + Bell keeping Madi safe. The cinematic Osblaine/Bellarke close up shots with the sun flaring behind them. Their little inside jokes and teasing banter. The comfort hugs. The reunions. The hand shots.
It also doesn’t hurt that both of them look so much like Bellamy and Clarke with their hair and coloring :)
Waiting for the last season to air is definitely going to feel painfully long—at least we know it won’t be anywhere near as disastrous as the colossal embarrassment that was s7.
So glad you left this in my inbox, Stef! Ty for giving me something new to obsess over 😂💕

Fic tag game
Tagged by @dark-visitors (thanks Visi!!)
1) How many works do you have on Ao3?
75
2) What's your Ao3 word count?
300,411
3) What fandoms do you write for?
So so many, lol. Jatp, Wednesday, descendants, do revenge, first kill, Batman (eventually, I have plans okay I just haven’t like done it yet). I’ve also written one fic each for bridgerton and wynonna earp.
4) What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Season of Woe (Wenclair - Wednesday)
Don’t talk to me or my scary goth gf ever again (Wenclair - Wednesday)
Bat vs. bug (calliete - first kill)
Fire in my blood (Wenclair - Wednesday)
Hate to say I told you so (Kathony - Bridgerton)
5) Do you respond to comments?
Yes? I really try to, I’m just horrifically bad at actually getting to each comment. I think overall I respond to like 50% of comments in a super nonsensical order.
6) What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Ha. Hahahahaha I’ve actually been yelled at many many times for this fic and it was so so worth it
Always by your side
Also
Never saw you coming (I’ll never be the same) Aka Luke leaves
7) What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Oh fuck idk, I love me some fluff. If we’re going purely based off of soft fluffy vibes it’s laughing at clouds so dark above, the suns in my heart (I’m ready for love) or dancing to the rhythm of your heartbeat
8) Do you get hate on fics?
No thank god, I would cry for days
9) Do you write smut? What kind?
… maybe so. I’m a kink girlie what can I say.
10) Do you write cross-overs?
No? No, not yet anyways.
11) Have you ever had a fic translated?
Nope
12) Have you ever cowritten a fic before?
Yes! I wrote a Bridgerton fic with my beloved wife Rach @itsthebooks (whomst almost divorced me last week but she did not file the paperwork so it’s all good 😂) for the bridgerton troped round last year. I am a menace and would not shut up about this fic until it was written. It was a lot of fun tho!!
Hate to say I told you so
13) What WIP you would like to finish, but doubt you ever will?
Oh god most of them. The adhd hypefocus gremlin is a bitch and a half when she changes fixations. I really want to finish promise me you’ll catch me but I’ve been stalled out on the third chapter for like 2 years. I also want to finish here we go again but I’m pretty sure I wrote myself into a corner and idk how to fix it without trashing it and rewriting and I don’t have the patience for that.
14) What's your all-time favourite ship?
Again adhd hyperfocus gremlin rules my heart and mind so it depends on the day tbh. In terms of longest reigning ships it’s jukebox and bellarke. Currently I’m obsessed with all things batfam (familial/platonic obvi) and DCU
15) What are your writing strengths?
I’m really good at diving into a characters head and the way they think. One of my fave Fics, writing wise doesn’t have any dialogue or specific action, it’s more character study than anything else. It’s really easy for me to just write and be able to flow through memory’s and thoughts and feelings and how the character experiences the world. I’m sure there’s a word for it I’m just not remembering but it’s my favorite kind of writing
16) What are your writing weaknesses?
Um probably that I get really bogged down in action heavy scenes, I focus too much on where they’re bodies physically are and what movements they’re making and it takes me a billion years to write and I think I put in too much detail but I never know how to trim it down???
17) Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
There’s a reason I’ve only failed 4 classes in my life and 2 were math and 2 were a foreign language. It is a struggle for me. I don’t want to have to work that hard to write and also I’m afraid of fucking it up cause google translate is not reliable. I’ll do the occasional word or term of endearment but that’s pretty much it. Usually if the characters are speaking another language I’ll mention it in story and then write the dialogue in English
18) First fandom you wrote for?
Jatp
19) Favourite fic you've ever written?
No, you can’t make me 🥺
Always by your side cause I’m so fucking proud of the pain I unleashed
As if it’s really that easy to get over you (just snap your fingers) the aforementioned fic with very little dialogue or action, just vibes and character study into drea from do revenge
20) What fic would you want to rewrite one day?
I have no idea, I’m vaguely hoping to rewrite here we go again one day but tbh I barely have the focus to fics the first time.
Tagging: @itsthebooks @a-tomb-with-a-view @wr0temyway0ut @thatbitchmabel @fandomscraziness22 @angelofarts and anyone else that wants to do it, I’m so tired and totally blanking rn

Do you ever experience an unfulfilled desire to see your tv couple (from The 100) consummate their relationship onscreen? And if so how do you get over it?
Yeah I do. I think it's one of the reasons I fell off of doing the rewatch (although not the only reason by far.) Because it felt hollow. You know? TBH I could have handled the way it ended better if they didn't completely invalidate the head and the heart story, and the story of trying to make sure we deserve to survive. And if they had even just ADDRESSED the tie between them. It was a mistake to take the love scene out of the episode after the resuscitation scene. But oh well.
There it is. You can't trust hollywood because they have their own agenda and they often put the story last.
What do I do to get over it? Well, I had to let go of the obsession, which I was ready for, tbh. I just moved on. Maybe because for me The 100 was a coping strategy, and my mental health improved so I didn't need them as a coping strategy anymore.
But it's hard to just be like, well, be over it, if you still need it as an emotional support ship.
In that case, I'd probably switch to fanfiction. There's some fantastic fanfic in the fandom and they can fix where it went wrong.
The tv show is fiction. It's not real life. It didn't really happen. There's no "truth" to it. Yes, there's canon. And the canon tells 'A' story. I personally think JR ruined the story out of spite, so I chose not to give a shit what happened in season 7, although I'd be okay taking it as inspiration.
If I were still obsessed, I would be WRITING fanfiction, to fix it frankly. BUT
I'm not, for some actual reasons that might have helped me move past the show and the ship.
Mainly because I started ghostwriting romances. Especially when I started, I was inspired by fan fiction and would definitely put Bellarke into the books. Sometimes I'd put Olicity. or like some other random ship. Writing my own story and giving them happy endings helped me not need them as emotional support.
And then also perhaps I switched my emotional support to reading historical romances. I read a lot of them. I started because my first ghostbook had a trope I didn't understand and my google search led to a historical romance, so I read it and remembered that I used to like bodice rippers when I was teen, so I started reading them. And the thing is, it's a lot like fanfiction. This character and that character fall in love in the fictional world of Regency or Victorian England. And because it's this kinda Jane Austen universe, it stays familiar. And because it's a fantasy version of the real times, well, it's not too near the real world and all the stress we go through now.
So how did I get over Bellarke's crash and burn? I wrote other stuff. I read other stuff. I might also suggest finding a different ship to fall in love with. You know that old saying "the best way to get over someone is to get under someone else?" I think that fits with a broken ship, too. Find someone else to obsess over.
