my favorite comedy website is run by like five people and they have select free ad-less articles (AND podcasts) for people who don’t subscribe to their patreon so it’s funny to me that a cottage industry of several underpaid writers and a couple of guest columnists like that is so generous….. AND the slightly higher sub tiers let you join the community discord and participate in activities and contests with said writers and other subscribers

but watcher, strategically based in one of the most expensive cities in the country, and with a silicon valley executive producer, won’t be giving out a single freebee from now on

christmas presents have been wrapped!!! well for my brother (i got him a series of delightful mst3k magnets and one of the sellers even threw in an extra!) and for best friend (i cannot reveal. we follow each other on here). i was late in picking something out for my mom bc she's so damn hard to shop for that when i DID pick something (a very sophisticated only murders in the building sweater that i am very proud of in terms of present selection) it shipped late and won't get here until......literally the day after christmas. SO I'LL JUST HAVE TO WRAP IT THEN

MST3K: Werewolf - The Werewolf Song

Watching Pacific Rim for the first time since it came out in theaters. I liked it okay then, but all my friends were OBSESSED with it which sort of wore out the films welcome. Of course, now I’ve watched Atlantic Rim 6 times over and in comparison, this movie is hand crafted by the gods. Cinematic masterpiece on all levels. I was wrong to ever be apathetic about it. Artistic integrity is so sexy.

MST3K did this one, it’s called “Jack Frost.”

It’s actually not terrible, at least not in the ways that so many of the films they riff on are (looking at you, 1950s crime stories and scifi schlock). The colors are rich, the plot is pretty coherent and brisk, and the foreign (Russo-Finnish) fairytale nature of the production gives it a dreamlike quality that sets it apart.
