today was okay
Was feeling overwhelmed at work (long to-do list, busy day tomorrow), so I went for a walk on my lunch break. Walked by a kid’s party and a little boy ran out, yelled “I have a pinwheel” while holding it up for me to see, blew on it so it spun, and then ran away.
It was a really long day, but that kid made the biggest difference.
Also, dude, totally awesome pinwheel!
#a little kid at work showed me a mobile they made in class#yesterday another little kid showed me the floating home she build#and told me all about how they tested it in the water#it was pretty awesome#could honestly listen to little kids tell me about stuff they're excited about all day#kids#art school#i don't mind being busy#but i'm going to be away from my desk for five hours straight tomorrow#which means i won't be able to do all the remaining stuff i need to do until 2pm at the earliest#i've got to call twenty-one different kids for one of our programs#and i just know it's going to take forever#oh and i have to build next years schedules for all 75 of our faculty#but honestly#as crazy as work is#i love that i get to work with kids#and give them opportunities i didn't get when i was young#if only the adults i work with weren't so difficult
