bioshock 2 highlight:
#i'm assuming this was tenenbaum returning the favor <3#anyway this game was kind of nothing ideologically speaking but it was fun overall#the gameplay was good (when it stopped crashing every five minutes -_-)#and it did tap into the melancholy of the setting quite well in some instances#the intro where delta gazes at his reflection as eleanor tugs him along +this bit of gameplay where i played a song on one of the jukeboxes#for a moment of stillness and the gravitas of rapture's demolition kind of hit me again while this happy swing song was playing.#oh also the sequence where you play as a little sister 🥺 the dreamy world that the girls are seeing#vs the hellish reality that they snap to for a few seconds#seeing pre 1959 rapture was really interesting; the idea of the little sisters being this frightening dirty secret that#ryan was still trying to hide. made me think about the waver in his voice in the audio log where he's recounting the first instance#of happening across one of the girls in rapture. probably one of the few instances he ever sounded unsettled about his utopia.#anyway. horseshoe theory is out; environmental storytelling is very much in 😌#games tag
