Top 5 favorite fictional books:

The Little Prince. The movie fundamentally shaped my childhood, and the book shapes me now. It's such a beautiful story and I've quoted it... quite a few times 😅

Six of Crows. I looove all the characters, their dynamics, the growth they have and how they fit into the larger world. The way all character dynamics and backstories are explored is soooo well done. It's 'be gays, do crimes' in a book and I love it so much,

The wild robot (is it obvious now I used to read a lot of middle grade and never reaaalllyy got into young adult - I've been reading lots of fanfic - so now I'm trying to find a new genre to like.) It's the sweetest little found family between a robot and a gosling ever.

Sherlock Holmes (not finished yet). I've only read a bit so far. THe main duo of Sherlock Holmes and Watson are so fun to read. Their banter, Sherlock's willingness to do crimes and Watson wanting to go along with it because he finds Sherlock interesting. Sherlock Holmes himself being so adhd core. He accidentally became the best man at a wedding for the people he was trying to spy on. It's peak fiction.

(The BBC show had very good characters and character dynamics, but the mystery was kinda... lackluster to be honest)

Blind Trust by @goodluckclove. Such a comfort read, all the characters and dynamics are thoroughly explored. And everyone deserves hugs and happiness. It feels like reading a slice of life show mixed with the saddest backstories and well done emotional writing and akjsdfkl. It was so fun and comforting to read.

I've never read any, but I did have a phase where I was interested in them. I watched and read lots and lots of summaries.

I liked the little mermaid one. The ending tragedy sat with little me for a while. The idea that her sisters cared enough to give her the option of her old life at the expense of the prince, that she loved him so much - even if it was unrequited - that she'd rather sacrifice herself... the moral dilemmaasss klajflkasdf. (Also the queer allegories heheh)

The Rapunzel one also was nice... I've heard lots of versions and such.

Um kajdfk I don't remember everythinggg. But they were dark and I loved how dark they were. Since they were 'fairy tales for children' it's pretty much the first dark thing I was exposed to. I honestly love dark things for that weight they add to stories and my fairy tale phase probably played a major part in that.

before dinner, will and his grandma go to the market to buy some ingredients

will separates from her for two minutes, comes back and sees his grandma catching a child's attention, saying that "he's not dressed up enough" and "he's too thin"

would have been fun if it was anyone other than nico di angelo

nico tries to argue, but he obviously doesn't stand a chance against a worried indian grandmother

only the situation gets more serious when will's grandma says she's taking nico to spend the night with them, and doesn't accept opposition

"ammamma, you can't force someone to go somewhere, that's kidnap-" will gets The Look from her and gives up "so nico is coming with us"

when will blurts out nico's name, he realizes he won't be able to hide the truth from his grandma, so he said that nico's another demigod, which makes the lady even more impassive to leave nico alone (again, read this)

in the end, will's grandma wraps nico's entire neck and head with a scarf and drags him with them

when they arrive at his grandparents' place and his grandma explains the situation to his grandpa and naomi, she asks will to guide nico to the bathroom and borrow clean clothes while she finishes the food

when they're alone, nico stares at him silently and will feels like he's being watched by a macabre demon child from a horror movie (inspired by this)

nico finally opens his mouth and asks how much will and drew told chb about bob and hazel, looking like he's about to have a breakdown

will just says he didn't say anything and notices how nico gets visibly more relaxed

will leaves him in the bathroom and it doesn't take long for dinner to be ready and everyone to gather at the table

when nico comes back, he's wearing one of will's sweatpants, a loose, faded master yoda shirt, and his hair smells like will's favorite linseed shampoo

obviously, she is such a great artist. and she totally wows her school, but uh oh... racism. she has a voice loud and bright and beautiful enough to probably get every fucking solo in the choir, but she’s shut down because some other people are “more qualified” or some shit idk. 

she loses a lot of hope. but she also gets really angry, too. why is it that she’s supposed to be so unimportant to America? why does she have to be so overlooked? why does everyone assume that she only wants to get the best grades, that she’s some super smart human because she’s brown? she’s so done.

so she keeps pushing, keeps trying to make this career happen. she’s tired of feeling like she’s unimportant, like she’s forgotten. she probably auditions for some band (outside of school) one day and the members are so fucking wowed that there is no way they won’t include her. 

that is her big break. they’re not a huge band, but i think this is where naomi feels in her element. she’s never been happier. fuck what her parents think, she was made to be an artist.

as she grows older, she keeps going with this career. she gets onto radios and when youtube starts up, she starts posting videos of herself singing. she gains fame. people love her. little girls - especially little girls of color - look up to her as an idol for what she’s doing. 

but she still finds it hard to get fame, because there are still lots of other artists who get more fame. but that doesn’t stop her. she’s getting ahead in her career, and really, as long as she’s doing it, she’s happy. 

after some time, music companies start noticing her. they’re probably a little hesitant to include her (cough racism and misogyny cough) but she gets her big break somewhere. she still feels like an outcast, since she’s one of the only desi artists there, but she hypes herself up because it means that she’s one of the few desi women to be getting a chance like this in the US. she wants to show other girls that they can do the same. 

and apollo... well, he is in love with that. when he discovers her at some concert, he’s like “??? how have i never heard of her??? she’s so??? amazing?” and when he gets a bit closer to her and learns about all that shit she had to go through, he’s probably really livid. he’s literally the god of music, and he’s so disappointed to realize that people in the mortal world are setting up barriers to prevent specific people from getting in. 

but he’s so in love with her courage and persistence. because naomi solace is like awesome <3

and i also just realized that like. if apollo and naomi had a child, i think her parents would... not be that happy with her, either. and naomi probably feels even more upset about that.
