the little mermaid also KILLED by making it caribbean themed like so true actually eric IS the only white guy who washed up on their shores + survived only bc a mother loved him, and then bc a mermaid did. the dancing + music + colors r all sm better + also makes way more sense rip to everyone who hated black ariel ur ken doll prince is the outsider (+ knows it), not miss bailey

listen listen it’s okay if you like the new songs in the little mermaid or any other disney reboot really you do you but it’s soooo funny when i see people like “finally [x character] has a song” or “finally there’s a song for [x scene]” and meanwhile the 15+yo broadway musicals were just over there like “am i joke to you”

as much as I want them to be happy, something about Kaveh and Alhaitham is just so... suited to tragedy. like they give me the same feelings that probably led to someone coming up with Orpheus and Eurydice

Can people who try to fancast older Omega in live action understand one thing: the clones, including Omega herself, are made using the DNA of a man played by a Maori actor, and this showed with the clones not being white in the prequels movie but looking exactly like him.
Meaning Omega shouldn't be fucking white and therefore, fancasts like Florence Pugh shouldn't be happening.

"Ariel was stupid like she gave up her life in the ocean for a boy-" Well, if you actually watch the movie, before she even meets Eric, Arield shows interest in going to the surface and learning the ways of the humans. She collects artifacts and hides them, along with her trips to the surface from her father, who is prone to anger and hates her interest. He blows up her cave filled with said artifacts and bans her from ever going back to the surface (and seeing Eric, but the surface aspect and him go hand and hand). You want me to believe that you wouldn't book it at the first opportunity you got? Like yeah, the context of the deal was sketchy as hell, but when your dad is the literal ruler of all the seas you don't have many options. Also, in the sequel, Ariel is still connected to the ocean and can go back, especially after Ursula's sister dies so, in all honesty, my girl still wins in the end.

MOD'S CHOICE POLL!
Mod's Propaganda Under the Cut:
Rin Kagamine:
This song was an iconic part of any adolescent gay vocaloid fan's upbringing. Even if you don't like it (and I mostly only like it out of nostalgia), you have to admit that it is ICONIC. Also shoutout to my good friend who loves this song but missed Round 1 and so didn't get to vote for it. This is your chance!
Lena:
We owned this DVD for this shitty movie and I loved it so much. I still love it so much. I love shitty ripoff movies. Not much to say other than iconic.
Lucia Nanami:
I never actually watched all this show, but I remember my mermaid obsessed sibling did, and so I watched some of it with her when I was a little kid. I thought it was so much fun and I couldn't help but be disappointed that Lucia lost in Round 1. Give a magical girl a chance...
Lacey the Little Mermaid Fairy:
I didn't read the fairy tale fairies specifically, but in general, I LOOOOVEEEEEEDDDDD these Rainbow Magic books as a kid. I read soooo many of them and yet there was still so many more, it impressed me so much. I still remember being a little kid staring at the shelf trying to figure out which ones to take out that day.
Sayaka Miki:
I'm not as much of a fan of Madoka Magica as when I first watched it, but it did irreversible effects on my brain!!! Sayaka was ALWAYS my favorite (I know Homura has always been more popular, but I was dead set on Sayaka)! She was so amazing!!! She made me cry so much!!! Even now I get all choked up at And I'm Home!!! Plus, her witch form was so good... Homulilly never held a candle to the sheer epicness of Oktavia von Seckendorff!!!
