Despite being Embraced into a Sabbat pack, Cecil has been blood-bonded by a Camarilla Justicar to help him exterminate her own pack. Five centuries later, she is still happily serving that purpose.

This one has been brewing for a while but I wanted to get it out so that everyone can see how spoopy Cecil is! Iriam always gets shivers for the first few seconds when she meets up with her.

I think I'm going to have to make a pinned post for the art, because I realized the pieces are starting to pile up. Next one is probably going to be Laura again, in the same vector/flat style as Iriam and Cecil, and then I want to paint Iriam in the same style that Laura got. And then I also want to draw a cover for the story..... ;o; My art skills are way too rusty compared to my ambitions...

12. Are there any tropes you used to dislike but have grown on you?

u know if u had told me before encountering zhongchi that i would fall in love with eggs/ovipos i would've told u u were out of ur mind but here we are lmao

ngl i think i also wasn't super into the idea of enemies to lovers in my og fandom? which makes sense cause i wrote phanfic and for me it just didn't make sense that they'd be enemies at all to begin with? but then i got hit with dabihawks and hoooooo boy now i adore enemies to lovers lmao

13. Are there any tropes you used to like but don’t anymore?

honestly i don't think i've lost my taste for anything in particular that i didn't already dislike? like i am truly struggling to come up with anything i liked at one point and now am not so into (even just like a shift to neutrality over liking it) and i am entirely at a loss lmao

30. Have you ever written something that was out of your comfort zone? If so, what was it, and how did it affect your approach to writing fic thereafter?

yes absolutely !!!! the first time i wrote smut was a huge jump outside my comfort zone, and we all know how that turned out over time lmao. i tried out a bit of a wonky sci fi tale many moons ago and i think that really helped me solidify a base to build my emotional writing skills on.

near the end of my first fandom writing stretch, i switched from first person to 3rd person, and that basically...became my entire mode of writing from that point on. coincidentally, it helped me build new skills in eliciting strong emotions without relying on the benefits of first person narration

then when i switched fandoms, i tried my hand at my very first multi-ship fic, which sort of became the basis of some of the works and worlds i'm most proud of, and helped me flex my muscles with integrating relationships beyond just the main pairing into a story

this was also the first fandom for which i wrote stories that didn't have a happy ending (after living in a world where i promised happy endings, always) - ultimately i think this let me feel more comfortable exploring less wholesome emotions? not that everything i had before was wholesome, but being able to tell a story and be okay with it not having a happy ending was an interesting door to prop open [insert 'this is a surprise tool that'll help us later' image lmao]

i also pushed my worldbuilding limits in this fandom to produce what i consider one of my most complex fics from a worldbuilding perspective, it really tested my skills both in the art of translating canon lore to a unique world and investing in another multi-ship fic with 4 prominent romantic ships and at least 2 prominent platonic relationships, plus a myriad of less intensive platonic and familial relationships - overall i think that really helped me get a handle on worldbuilding in less complex scenarios? as well as incorporate tangential relationships to enhance a story or world

i also stretched my skills in canon-adjacent worldbuilding/future fic, which was a new territory to try to worldbuild in, so i had a lot of work around problem-solving within canon based on the path i was trying to go with the story. it ended up being an interesting dive into character study and analysis that lent itself well to what i consider a 'standard' method now for testing out new ships - starting in canon, with a scenario that interests me but wouldn't be wildly out of place in canon, and using that as a jumping point to get a handle on the dynamic. this was also my first attempt at ot3 fic, so that was good practice for future 3somes :)

shortly after i started writing genshin fic, i had an idea that really tested me quite a bit, partly because someone actually left quite an unkind comment and it made me reflect on the story - and what upset me wasn't their comment, per se, but that they discovered something about my story that, once i saw it, felt lacking. i think that although it was an uncomfortable situation, ultimately that helped me reflect more on my character arcs and motivations, and it's actually very much standard practice now when i get stuck somewhere while writing to pace out a character's motivation to help me keep my focus on their arc

long after i got into genshin, i wrote a fic for a character without a name. like. a whole entire almost 7k of a story where the pov character has no name. this taught me nothing cause i literally did it again lmao

i will also toss in my general cop-out commentary that any time i write a new pairing, it's outside my comfort zone! and it's always a good way to stretch my thoughts and approaches as i consider the nuances of a new dynamic, and i think it helps me too in looking at characters and dynamics i've written before with new skills in my pocket

31. What’s your ideal fic length to write?

hmm probably in the ~15k range? i feel like that's where i have enough range to really fully flesh out an idea and go through a broader story but not so long that there's complex worldbuilding involved? not that i don't love writing longfic, but the time and investment that goes into them can sometimes be overwhelming and it's not something i want every fic to entail lmao

32. What’s your ideal fic length to read?

under 10k!! this is like the super sweet spot for me to look at it and go 'yeah i'll leave that open in a tab to read during a short break or while i'm eating lunch or-' etc etc. more than that and i default to going 'oh i should mark that for later' and unfortunately those often disappear into the aether lmao

hello again!! oh thats so awesome!! BJHSAd I REALly admire people who can play the games out of order like that, the thought of experiencing the games like that gives me a headache to think about BWJAHbdsa I KNOW theyre pretty self contained but my little brain goes (but HOW CAN YOU Start with UF and TRULY understand the AGONY.......) HMM that is a really tough question... it would have to be from the og or prequel trilogy for sure, spin offs and crossovers are fun but not The Best...... man. I'm having a hard time picking one, I'm torn between Curious Village and Last Specter. CV being the first has the most charming not-quite-polished layton aesthetic, and the most nostalgic for me although luke and hershel's characters are still a little rough and not quite resolved.... LS of course has my heart because of baby boy Luke and me being a huge sucker for hershel and luke's first meeting, PLUS i just love Misthallery and the overall vibe of the town... felt like it really capture the Layton look in a refined way... TOUGH CALL.. TOUGH CALL... all I can say is that I am a sucker for a good beginning and am not so secretly too much of a big cry baby to truly love an ending (and the middle games are like stumbling into a roadside carnival in the best way hahaha but mostly just there to give me a good laugh)

Hey Mun! I have really enjoyed seeing your duck art on my dash! Your art is always full of emotion and the gestures have that beautiful balance between being clear but not overdone (as is sometimes the case with cartoon animation.) I love it!

I have also very much enjoyed your trans hc for the Dorito Duck! If you don’t mind, I always like hearing what drew (ba dum tss) people to different HCs about characters. SECOND: thank you so much! I feel like my skill has always lent itself much better to more cartoony styles, and I've managed to even surprise myself with being able to pick up drawing these guys relatively decently.

As far as why I hc Drake as trans, I suppose there's two reasons. One of them is that I've loved DWD since I was a kid, and og Drake really influenced the types of characters I like. As such, he's something of a comfort character to me, and as an androgynous to masc presenting nonbinary person, it felt comfortable to make him more like me.

Past that, I feel there really is decent canon precedent for it! In his intro episode, he speaks extremely highly of his hero. Jim Starling originated the role that inspired him as a kid, and he wants to do that for other kids like him. Two lines stick with me:

"I have modeled my entire life after yours."

"You helped me through a really rough time."

Both said to Jim. Sure, it could be chalked up to a bullied kid who just wanted to be cool, be the hero. But a read I love is this kid who was desperately bullied for being who they were. Something everyone said they shouldn't be.

Drake kept getting back up, and Jim inspired him to be the man he always felt he was. I feel like him being trans reads into that really well!

The OG text doesn’t support or debunk it so I suppose I was just connecting two dots that weren’t meant to be connected because there’s no link.

Someone once defined honeypotting as the art of fans making thoughtful theories to explain something in canon because the canon is devoid of sense or lacks complexity - but the fannish explanations are always more thought than what’s actually in the canon (also see Death of the Author trope).

Willy honeypotting was :

1) Rhea wrote those books about the History of Fodlan, since she’s fond of Wilhelm it’d seem weird she let that mention pass, especially since she’s known to edit history and this mention “he crushed anyone who wanted power” paints a bad light on her golden boy.

2) There must be a reason why she let this in the History of Fodlan, and remember the “Rhea lent her power to Adrestia” in 1? I understood it as Rhea lent her crest/power as the IO to the Empire (through Willy).

But then, the people from various clans around - who might know how to make relics since Gerth supposes it’s because some clans leaders escaped to Dagda that the Fetters of Dromi were initially there - could have wanted to get more of Wilhelm’s power, aka, Rhea’s blood, and even, a relic? The Immaculate One was seen around the Empire, and Wilhelm himself knew about it since he modeled his crown (Edel’s crown) on Rhea’s horns.

So it might have been a case of clan leader n°85 asking the Emperor if he saw a giant lizard around, because he’d like to get super powers too “just chop it to pieces, eat its flesh you’ll get super powers and with its bones we can craft a broken golden weapon!”.

3) It could have been an answer (not a satisfying one) to the problem of what to do when people know what relics are and how to obtain them? Rhea who would have disagreed with Wilhelm’s method “kill them all because they know” would have a different answer? Or would try to prevent the issue and make sure no one will ever know how relics and crests are made, so, suddenly, they are “gifts from the goddess”.

4) OTOH Willy was an Emperor, despite being a Holy Knight, so he was ultimately bound to do Emperor things (depending on what is your definition of an Empire) and try to expand Adrestia. So maybe he didn’t need a reason to raze neighbouring clans, even if imo, Rhea/Seiros, who’s not a doormat (she had equal if not more influence than him at that time) would have opposed Willy when he went to “destroy” Houses for no special reason.

There is 1) to consider, Rhea “I would not be pleased if you ignored the people of Firdhiad to save me” in AM would, imo, not put the “he destroys the houses who want more power” in her Official History because something like this isn’t something she’d support, while we can suppose she’s throwing shade at the Empire writing this, she’s still writing this under Willy’s name who’s her ultimate BFF.

So between “Willy was a  kind of power-hungry dude who erased people for fear of them growing stronger than him but he was still my friend!” and “Willy destroyed clans who knew too much because he thought it was the best way to protect us and while i disagree it’s still a human trying to help us” I pick the second choice.

But then the honey jar shattered, because the jp version isn’t clearer on what is meant by “power” even if in the og version Rhea keeps her bias a bit more hidden when she writes her books, so no “glorious” empire of Adrestia or “Great” emperor Wilhelm.

💟: how is your style different in this work compared to previous ones? has it more shifted for the story or just developed in general?

For all of your projects in connection to the others. E.g. to other OG projects you might have had and the ones you have now.

How did you know I wanted to yell about this?!

I can tell the difference a little between the style of my first attempt at a novel, The Art of Being Human, (sitting on a shelf for a while while I think about it), and Magic & Silver, which was my next. The first one was trying too hard to be something 'relevant', and it sacrificed story and character integrity for saying something I felt like it had to, which was a good lesson for me. Magic & Silver was all about the characters themselves, and while its overall atmosphere isn't too different from The Art of Being Human, it has a definitely more nuanced and complex feel.

Aside from that, The Art of Being Human had a heavily dystopian worldbuilding, which lent itself to a complex cultural structure, and a sort of 'ecological variety' dystopian cityscape, where the buildings are often covered with plants and used for self-sustaining gardening projects.

Magic & Silver has some of the same 'nature in urban areas' feel, but it's a little more contemporary. Less roof gardens and more sidewalk dandelions. It has a grittier, almost film-noir kind of atmosphere, of dingy bars and neon lights.

Between the Trees is its own kind of unique project, because of the fine line between science fiction and fantasy that it walks. It starts out feeling very Grimm's fairy tales and then becomes a lot more modernized and 'evil scientist' vibe, in some ways I get a feeling I picked up that setting switch from the first Maximum Ride novel.

Written in Ink, while it's set in the same general universe as Magic & Silver, has a hugely different tone. The best way I can think of to compare it is TV show genres. While Magic & Silver feels like a sort of police procedural type story, with high stakes villains, lots of investigation, and an intense plot line, Written in Ink is slowly but surely giving me more vibes of a network TV fantasy/urban fantasy geared toward teens, ala Shadowhunters or Teen Wolf (no I'm not just saying that because I have werewolves). There's more worldbuilding, and the characters have a slightly more upbeat, less world-weary sense to them. The worldbuilding is all designed to draw someone into a culture that's foreign to them but that they'd want to feel like they could be part of, with the kind of little details someone who's really into the world would be able to remember and include for themselves if they were imagining themselves in it.

Symbiote Spider-Man #3 Thoughts

PAD is back on form baby!

After a lackbuster issue #2, this issue gets back to what made issue #1 so great!

Like issue #1 the beauty and appeal of this story lies in how is ‘dances between the raindrops’ of the original Alien Costume Saga and how well PAD researched it to do that. Like i said back in issue #1 it is what that awful ASM 2018 annual should have been, even Felicia’s costume is correct.

It isn’t just that the issue works so well (mostly) in established continuity but sans the artwork and to a much lesser extent the dialogue (both of which are modern, the art moreso) this issue could’ve easily been part of the original Alien Costume Saga or indeed any 1980s Marvel comic.

The fun of the issue is how it toys with the power of hindsight. Whilst Deadpool: Back in Black or other flashback stories to this time period use the power of hindsight in such a way that, you can only really get an enjoyable read out of them when you’ve read the era they’re flashbacking to, this story does a lot to really feel like it is part of that time period.

The moments it plays with the power of hindsight are few and subtle, in fact being more relevant to pop culture jabs than anything else, such as referencing Cats and Disney.

Just about the only things that I spotted that were a little wonky continuitywise were

a)      Felicia claiming she wishes she had someone like Aunt May in her life. But she does, her mother. Admittedly you can easily No. Prize this as Felicia making a jab and playing loose with the truth. And in fairness back then the exact nature of Felicia’s relationship with her mother wasn’t pinned down. I’m not even sure if it is now because that BND era Black Cat mini-series presented it as strained IIRC (I only skimmed it)

b)      Felicia stealing a piece of the black costume. I just feel if she really did do something like that, betray Spidey like that, it’d be something that’d stick in her mind and would come up. You’d think it’d especially come up when she encountered Venom. Now in fairness maybe this will be resolved in the next issue. Again I guess you could maybe No. Prize why this was never brought up before but it is a little iffy

Speaking of iffy I have seen a criticism regarding the issue of consent in this comic, specifically because Felicia shows up at Peter’s place (I think it’s Peter’s place) and comes onto him, which he’s onboard with and then we cut to Peter talking in his sleep undressed, presumably naked, with Felicia commenting that she used knockout chemicals in her lipstick (has she ever had that before? Why hasn’t she used that since? Another little problem, maybe Mysterion gave it to her).

Obviously this is a betrayal of trust on her part no two ways about that but as far as consent is concerned,  we get into the topic of ‘Van Lente logic’ as I call it. We don’t see what happens just the before and after so what happened, in spite of implications, is up in the air.

For all we know Felicia got Peter undressed then kissed him/let him kiss her/they kissed each other and then WHAM he was unconscious. Then, unless they were already in bed, she could’ve put him in bed and gotten down to business with the suit.

Again, absolutely a betrayal, but if that’s what happened then no sex would’ve occurred.

I think that’s logically the most likely scenario here, I don’t think Felicia drugged him during or after sex.

There is one other tiny little problem regarding Felicia though...her narration. In one scene she narrates out loud to herself. Now this would be a nitpick usually because characters shouldn’t be written as speaking out loud dialogue that obviously should be internal narration *glares at Bendis*. However what upgrades it from a nitpick to a problem (albeit not a gamebreaking one) is that her speaking out loud to herself factors into the plot as it almost reveals Peter’s identity to Mysterio and also gives him some leverage to use against her.

Apart from that the only other problem is Land’s obviously traced artwork (which otherwise would look so nice) and it’s obvious referencing of...adult material...

Everything else in the issue was great.

The Electro fight, though superfluous for the most part, was a fun injection of action into the issue, with a clever little twist on the usual way Electro gets defeated. It’s not revolutionary but it’s something I can’t recall happening before (though maybe it has).

Felicia was very much in character here and PAD makes great use of her (as he often has done) and in particular this unique time period where she was in a vulnerable position. He balances out her betrayal and her disinterest in Peter Parker’s life with a sincere respect for Aunt May and a desire for her and Peter to reconcile. Felicia as always is at her best, when not strictly good nor bad but a bit of both and something in between.

Mysterio is also great in this story. PAD has expressed a fondness for a the character in the past, you can tell this from his Mysterio trifecta story from his FNSM days, but here being allowed to write the OG Mysterio who is definitely alive and not at all associated with demonic powers he’s enjoying it alot.

I’d go so far as to say this is starting to stack up as one of the best rendition of Mysterio ever. He’s clever, manipulative, powerful in his own way, but clearly has limits and isn’t all bad either.

Last issue I was wondering how Ohmm and Kingpin were going to factor into the story as they were rather useless last issue but now I see where it was going I love it. it validates issue #2 for me.

Some final little points:

·         The recap page was cool, how it was a Bugle front page but one that felt like Jameson actually wrote it back in the 1980s, complete with contemporary references to Hulk and the Punisher

·         The cover title has some Carnage red bleeding into it. It’s a cool effect and I hope it keeps up into the next issues as the title transitions into Absolute Carnage

·         I don’t know what that backup story was about at all, mybe set up for Absolute Carnage?

Art Analysis: Gorillaz, and How an Art Style can Lose its Edge.

Ah, Jamie Hewlett. My hero, and ultimate inspiration. I hear y’all praising Damon all the time, but I never would have gotten into Gorillaz if it weren’t for Jamie’s artstyle....at least, it was amazing. What happened though? How does Gorillaz in 2018 compare to Gorillaz in 2001? Well, lets take a look back through the history of Gorillaz.

Welcome to the first Art Analysis. I’ve wanted to do this for a while because, frankly, I haven’t seen many other people do it. Today, I’ll be talking about the art style of Gorillaz, not actually Jamie Hewlett specifically (bummer, right?) We’re going to analyze what made it great, and why, I feel, it has lost its magic. Remember, this is all my opinion. Even though your wrong, feel free to tell me your thoughts as well.

Phase 1:

(Early Gorillaz Concept Art)

The Gorillaz was born when Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett expressed dissatisfaction with the modern state of mTV. The idea of having cartoon characters replace real musicians lent itself to be a vessel for great social commentary, but in order for this to work, the characters had to be distinctive. Gorillaz in phase 1 feel very at home in the early 2000s. Powerpuff Girls, Dexter’s Laboratory, and Johny Bravo all rocked the specific, thick-lined, angular, flat shaded style, and the Gorillaz followed suit. Many have pointed out how this style feels like a throwback to 50s UPA animation, and the Gorillaz use similar animation methods as well.

Let me just say that this is, in my view, the BEST cartoon style. Phase 1 Gorillaz art and animation felt more lively and slick. They had an over-emphasized cartoonyness that not only carried their message well but also contrasted beautifully with the dark nature of the characters. Jamie Hewlett’s work in Gorillaz phase 1 was his best work to date, outside of maybe Get the Freebies.

The Gorillaz in phase 1 also remind me a lot of urban vinyls, like those of KidRobot. This may be due to the smooth, flat colors and shading. It suits the more urban feel of their first album quite well. The Gorillaz fan artist Irina Bolshakova has mastered this style and deserves a mention because I think she is the greatest Gorillaz fan artist of all time. I often reference her work more than Jamie even!

Phase 2:

The most significant change in direction in terms of the Gorillaz artstyle, atleast until recently, was with the beginning of phase 2. Demon Days, as an album, have significantly different themes than the band’s previous outing. It was a post-911 world now, and gone were the innocent, chill vibes of Self Titled. The world just got a whole lot drearier and more paranoid. The cartoon network inspired style wouldn’t work for this, and changes needed to be made.

For starters, the characters became more gritty and detailed. They often looked worn out and ghoulish, like zombies, which was especially fitting. The thick lines, unfortunately, were diminished significantly, replaced with what almost resembles pencil lines, and shading began to use a gradient. It was often darker as well, making the eyes of the characters look sunken in and vampiric. Limbs showed more of a natural curve, and were less geometric, and muscles were more toned. The characters often felt stiff and spidery in phase 1, legs jutting out at exaggerated angles. They were often posed more naturally in phase 2. The colors in this art are often muddled and dull as well. To me, I describe the style of phase 2 as akin to walking into an old, dusty antique store.

While this style works very well for Demon Days, I feel like it was overall a downgrade. The characters feel less distinctive and eye catching. That may be why they are often seen wearing outlandish costumes in this phase, but I digress. The gothic feel of the album should be right up my ally, and, well, it is. I love this album so much, as well as D Sides. And I love the artstyle, don’t get me wrong. I just feel it changed too much and lost what made Gorillaz art so appealing to me in the first place.

Much like Irina is the best phase 1 Gorillaz fanartist, Lora Zombie gets the award for the best phase 2 Gorillaz fanartist.

Phase 3:

Phase 3 marks the beginning of a downward trend in the artstyle’s evolution. Plastic Beach is a bit of an odd-ball album from them, and a hit or miss for many people. The style of the album was dramatically different then previous outings, transitioning from demons and self destruction to a “Gorillaz at Sea” carnival attraction. At least that’s how I would describe it. 

With only 1 2D animated music video for this album, and considerably less promotional imagery than past outings, there isn’t as much to go off of. The first thing I noticed was that the pencil lines in Demon Days are significantly more pronounced, making much of the art look unfinished at points(ironic, considering Rhinestone Eyes). This clashes with the more dynamic shading , leading to a bit of a strange look. Perhaps this would look good with darker colors, but since this album is much more pop-y and upbeat, the colors are actually much brighter than past incarnations. It is also here that Jamie appears to loose a sense of consistence with his character designs. Most notably is Murdoc, who appears to have gotten some sort of jaw reduction surgery (something we’ll see more of in phase 4), and at some points looks like a racoon, as the dark circles around his eyes are often extremely exaggerated. Murdoc particularly looks distinctly different at different parts of the album. 2D’s issue in phase 3 has to do with magically reducing his age. In some art, he has very visible wrinkles and a receding hairline, but other times, he looks just as old as he was in phase 1.

Phase 3 is a dramatic drop in quality, and it feels fitting that this album led to a falling out between Jamie and Damon due to his art feeling underutilized.

Phase 4:

7 years after Plastic Beach, the Gorillaz make an admittedly lack-luster comeback. Not only was the music of Humanz pretty dull, but the phase 4 artwork in general was Jamie Hewlett at his worst. The first change was the abandonment of any sort of consistent outlining on the characters. I hate when cartoons do this; thick outlines are amazing! Why tf would you get rid of them? The characters in this album are designed to look very human like, with very human proportions and less exaggerated features.

The style is unrecognizable. Eyes are smaller and less circular. Limbs are lankier and hands grosser. The classic “ape nose” seen in the past three phases and an iconic part of their design was shrunken and narrowed. Shading is more 3 dimensional, adding to the comparably realistic character designs. 2D and Noodle also joined Murdoc in getting jaw reduction surgery. 2D also grew back one of his front teeth apparently. And with this album, any consistency in character design is gone completely. I wouldn’t believe you if you told me that this:

Were the same character. What the hell? Phase 5 was a dark time for Gorillaz, and it shows, as not only the music itself, but the art also felt jumbled and inconsistent.

I feel like I should add, though, that while this is my least favorite Gorillaz artstyle, it is by no means a bad artstyle in general.

Phase 5:

It was with phase 5 that the Gorillaz started to look more like the Gorillaz again. It was also with phase 5 that Russel finally joined the jaw reduction club, but that’s besides the point. The Now Now was one of the best albums to come out of the Gorillaz, and that says a lot. It’s somber vibes were the score to my summer vacation, and were a breath of fresh air after the hot mess that was Humanz. The new art with this album took a different turn, feeling yet again like a throwback, not to UPA unfortunately, but to old fashioned comicbooks. 

This style is marked by harsh shadows and flat, two-toned shading. Yes! Its about time you brought that back. Just like the album itself, the art gives a 70s vibe, particularly with the choice of color and tacky clothing. But a few things in this style don’t work.The body proportions of the characters are identical to real humans, and the hands and ears are considerably more realistic. This really bothers me, but at this point I’ve excepted that the Gorillaz aren’t just cartoon characters anymore. For the most part, this art is more consistent and stylish, and is a welcome change to the previous incarnation.

Having a damn good style for the Now Now is great and all, but I certainly miss what we had back in 2001. The Gorillaz are less underground now, and feel more consumerized, especially seeing as Noodle has an instagram, and I feel that the art has gone a similar route. I hope to see a bit more of that classic Gorillaz in the future, and I sure hope that the television show takes pointers from the OG Gorillaz. Asdfghjk IT TOOK ME A YEAR TO FINISH THIS Which is to say, it took me a few days, but my barely-artistic ass got overwhelmed and distracted for 12+ months.... I haven't drawn something this elaborate in a long while, but I'm so happy that it's finally done!

I know Iriam's picture was a lot simpler. I had even less patience when I started with her. But Laura really deserved a mighty pose and proper rendering. And now I'm so so so tempted to draw both of them in this same style...... stay tuned for 2026 lmao.

I have to say, there's something to both lineart-Laura and base-colors-Laura that almost made me stop at both those stages. But I persevered. 💪

Now you all know why Iriam is unable to resist anything Laura asks her to do. It's not the blood bond, it's the sheer fuckability of this woman! And Iriam doesn't mind being stepped on by hot stuff.

Prøve eksamen prosjekt

Hei! Dette er mitt prøve-eksamens prosjekt hvor jeg måtte gå til nrk p3 og høre på en valg fri sang og da valgte jeg "Summer depression" av Girl in the red.

Først når jeg begynte å velge sangene til cover design min, satt jeg fast mellom sangen "Summer Depression" av girl in red og "Rocking With You" av Whammy boy. Her er ideene til de to, altså sketcher.

Ideen bak "Rocking With You" var å lage en retro cover med en bil fra 90-tallet der to mennesker lente seg på bilensom du ser på det andre bildet. Den andre tanken var å lage en som bare flyter rundt med masse 90-talls easter egg.

Her kan du se en sketch der en person sitter foran pc skjermen kanskje om sommeren, mens den andre sketch skal forestille store vinduer med sommerens farger og en person som sitter alene

Prosess fra skisse til illustrator:

Her kan du see skisse prossesen min i Illustrator. Jeg har brukt ulike måter å skisse fram slutt resultat. Masken var en kombinasjon av inspirasjon av ulike maske kulturer rundt i verden. Søsteren min var også en del av prossesen for at jeg kunne lage en slags smilende leppe. Du kan også se at jeg prøv ulike kombinasjoner med farger over men jeg glemte å lagre de andre fargene så de ble slettet da jeg åpnet dem. For det meste var bagrunnsfargene en kom. Nederst bildet og helt til nedre-høyre kan man se at jeg prøvde ulike fonter, men tittel fonten er blokkert litt. Jeg slet virkelig med farger siden alt skulle ha sin egen identitet. Du kan også at jeg prøvde å geometrifisere annsiktet i midt-oppe, altså det tredje artboard på bildet. Tanken bak designen var å fremstille hvordan jenta ble fremstilt utenpå, mens det som var bak masken var hvordan hun egentlig hadde det. Som er egentlig meningen fordi sangen "Summer depresjon" nevner depresjon og følesene bak det.

Øynene i masken skal være samme farge som bakgrunnen for å skape på en "holo" effekt. Sidene av hele skisseprosessen er fylt med insperasjon og farger til bildet og alt mulig som jeg har brukt for å lage slutt resultatet

Deretter i cover designen min til låta "Summer Depression" er det blitt brukt tre de fire komposisjons prinsippene:

• Enhet

• Kontrast

• Bevegelse

En måte jeg har brukt kontrast er kontrasten mellom de varme fargene som lyse rød, lyse rosa, lyse gul og etc.. Der det motsatte er mørke brunn, mørke rød, mørk blå. Det er også en stor kontrast mellom de tykke linjene og de tynnne.

Jeg valgte å ha masken en lyse gul aktig farge for å representere og symbolisere den "gledelige" siden av jenta, der bak masken så ser man mørkere farger av blå og brun. Jeg har også tatt i bruk av glow effekt for å vise frem mer av "glede" emosjon.

Gjentakelse er også blitt brukt ved hjelp av samme former som i sommerfugelene for å representere våren eller med maskaraen/øyevipper samt med de lyse fargene. Siden det er en pop art/pin up stil så kunne hvilken som helst bagrunnsfarge med lys vintage/pastel farger passet inn.

Jeg har skapt bevegelse med tårene og hvordan de går ned ansiktet. Jeg har også brukt warp for å skape et smilende ansikt.

Typografien jeg har brukt til tittelen er en slags bold brush for å gi den samme brush effekten jeg har brukt i selve illustrasjonen også har jeg stylisert det for å skape mer retro følelse, mens den jeg har brukt til artist navnet er en tynnere og har fortsatt brush aktig still. Fontene er tilrettelagt for å skape en retro følelse. Fontene har også en slags kontrast der "girl in red". Jeg har brukt en kombinasjon av minuskler og versaller i artist navnet fordi det funker bedre og går med hvordan jeg har posijonert det. Jeg brukte blå i tittelen for å vise fargen av depresjon/sommer. Fordi sommeren er mørke/lys. Artist navnet skal henge med fargene i neglene og selve navnet i artisten girl in "Red". I came into the series a wee bit backwards myself ^^

When I as around 4, my Grandpa lent me a lot of his sci-fi books including his Tarzan novels and most vitally for this conversation his Century 21 Theydon novels, of which he had all but the second Stingray Novel.  (I learned to read at around 3 and was reading anything I could get my hands on by 4... which in my family meant sci-fi and sci-fan XD )  I fell in love with the world and characters from the novels, and when he realized I enjoyed them, my Grandpa lent me his Century 21 comics collection, which I loved.  It was a year or two later, when I was 6 or so, when I finally found out that ‘oh.  there are TV SHOWS’, but this was the 80s and I didn’t really get a chance to watch the show outside of some VHS recorded off TV sets found at garage sales, so my knowledge of the shows was limited until... hm...�� Sometime in the 90s - 95ish I think - when I was able to find someone selling a complete Supermarionation VHS set (in broadcast order!).  I also started reading the new (at the time) Fleetway and other Anderson series comics around then, followed by the 04 TB film and New Captain Scarlet in 05

I watched the movie in 04 when it came out and was annoyed at it, but overall i still think it’s got one of the best Penny and Parker I’ve ever seen, I ADORE the launch sequences, the theme song is a bop and a half, the Hood was actually more menacing and a threat than he was in the show (almost on par with the novels and comics!) and i can see what they were TRYING to do with Alan’s coming of age story...  execution is a bit lacking, but there was a lot of love for the OG series and a lot of the cast and crew were huge fans and APPARENTLY the fact that it was an AU was supposed to be more widely promoted, and to be honest I think a LOT of the backlash (esp in 04) was due to fans going in expecting TOS and getting blindsided.  When I’ve rewatched it with fresh eyes I’ve found it honestly wasn’t that bad, and there was more things that I liked, or even loved!  (alan and Fermat’s friendship and character arcs, the MANY tributes to the og series, Penny and Parker, etc)

I watched the Captain Scarlet and the Return of the Mysterons, and from there new Captain Scarlet when both came out, and quite enjoyed nCS, as it was an interesting take on the world, yet still felt very close to the TOS.  ...I do wish the characters that were new characters in all but name had HAD different (code) names though XD  Though I am thankful taht most of them had new real names

I’ve only VERY recently (like, month or so) gone to watch TAG on the recommendation of a friend (Tian, actually) and done a single watch through.  Overall, I enjoy it, though I still prefer the OG (and the novels the most).

I’ve had a... bad run of luck the last few years.  Last year my computer (and window... and desk) got blown by lightning... yes really, this is my life.  At least the fire was small, only did a bit of damage and was easily contained?  Then early THIS year the watermain in my house broke (twice) and collapsed the ceiling on me and my computer on top of destroying pretty much every book, toy and piece of clothing I owned... plus floors, wall damage and obviously ceiling. All of which meant that all teh art and fics and so on were lost.  Thus far I’ve only managed to salvage one piece of art (the IR logo) and one complete fic (The Collector, which I’ve gotten nice reactions to on AO3 ^^) and a few fragments outside of that.

Posting The Collector got me in a Century 21 mood so I started trawling on tumblr to see if there were other fans out there, trying my luck at the ask game so I could geek out a ton, and just now finding out about the Thunderfam

I like all of Anderson’s various series, honestly.  Lady P, Scarlet, Thunderbirds, and Stingray hold a special place in my heart as they were how I was introduced to the world and I ADORE the characters in them ^_^

I was first introduced to Thunderbirds through the 2004 movie. I have a nostalgic feeling for the film and watch it often, although I do think it’s pretty awful.

I then met the creepy toy in my Nan’s shed. It was creepy as heck and I refused to go near it, not realising it was in fact (I think) Virgil Tracy! Which I only realised when my dad put on some original series thunderbirds, which I was freaked out by cuz I was only lil

I then watched the animated series when it came out, before re-obsessing with all versions again recently and beginning my toy collection. In fact, just this past week I spent a full 4 days binging thunderbirds content with a friend which was glorious

Når jeg var i samtale med Kroepelien for ca. 8 måneder siden på bakeriet og presenterte for henne sosialtjenesten i byelen sin dypt ulovlige forvaltningsførsel overfor meg og forklarte rundt min svært dårlige helsetilstand og livsviktige rettigheter jeg etter loven har men som har blitt nektet meg i over ti år (jeg har kun blitt utposjonert minste flate grunnsats sosialhjelp) selv om flere fastleger har konkludert med at dette vil være “livstruende” for meg som eldre diabetiker, bestrebet hun seg utelukkende på å bli kvitt meg raskest mulig, med repeterende mantra om at dette ikke var noe hun kunne gjøre noe med, hun kunne ikke hjelpe, hun hørte hva jeg sa, men det var ikke hennes ansvarsområde, osv.

Ofte etter at jeg hadde sagt mitt og forventet respons, satt hun rett og slett bare og stirret på meg – ventet meg ut i taushet.

Kroppspråket talte for seg.

Ingenting om at “noen fra bydelen vil følge opp”.

Men så var da heller ikke avisen til stede!

Jeg gikk derfra, rystet i mitt innerste med kun èn tanke i hodet som kvernet og kvernet: “Hva var det som skjedde nå”? – “Hva var det som skjedde nå”?

Samtalen er tapet.

Jeg sender dette vitnesbyrdet til avisen. Herved utført.

  Rett etterpå fant jeg tilfeldigvis – datakløne som jeg er, referatet jeg la ut samme dag som møtet tok plass! Her er det mer korrekt gjengitt, og det er som sagt tapet!:

At jeg er dypt sjokkert, er et mektig understatement! Jeg møtte lederen for Bydelsutvalget som eneste innbygger, først på gal cafè, siden hun kun hadde satt “Ullevålsveien” på sin FB-status uten å utdype hvilken av de to i samme lange strekning det var.

Hun presenterte seg ikke en gang når JEG rakte frem hånden, ei heller bød hun på kaffe som lokket med i invitasjonen.

Jeg informerte om den dyptgripende ulovlige forvaltningsførselen fra Bydel St.Hanshaugens sosialtjeneste; atter unnlatt nødhjelp – denne gang på andre uken, hvilket hadde avstedkommet store lidelser for meg som er diabetiker uten forsvarlig kosthold, så som kvalme, svimmelhet, trykk i brystet, skyhøyt blodsukker og blodtykk, nevropati og voldsomme kramper i bl.a føtter og legger – i morgen har jeg fødselsdag men alle mine søknader er avslått og klageinstansene hjelper ikke – det skal jo ikke være slik, og hva kan jeg gjøre?!

– Hvorpå hersketeknikkene trillet ut av henne som perler på en snor, både i kroppsspråk og respons;

Korslagte armer samtidig som hun lente seg langt vekk fra meg, med skruppelløse repetisjoner;

“Jeg har full tillit til Administrasjonen” – “Jeg har full tillit til Administrasjonen” – “Jeg har full tillit til Administrasjonen – “Det er ikke noe jeg kan gjøre” – “Det vet jeg ikke” – “Det er ikke mitt ansvar” – “Jeg har full tillit til Administrasjonen”!

Da hun for 14 gang på ca. 17 minutter vrengte ut av seg papegøyeramsen kjente jeg at kvalmen ble påtakelig, og reiste meg resolutt og sa; Takk for meg – alt mens jeg demonstrativt skrudde av lydopptaket, hvilket avstedkom kvarterets eneste opptrekking av munnvikene til damen, i et hånlig halvflir uten avskjedshilsen!

Som vist i mitt forrige innlegg linket til under, var det kun Maria Badea – Leder i HSK (Helse- og sosialkomiteen) St.Hanshaugen (H) – Medlem i BU (Brukerutvalget) (H) og Medlem i Styret St Hanshaugen Høyre, samt Ane Stavrum ved Helse- sosial og eldreombudet i Oslo av disse (ca. 35 stk) som i det hele tatt ga meg tilbakemelding:* (…)

INGEN har da heller enda besvart min klage av 9/2 – 14 på syvende uke enda de vet at de er politianmeldt, Helse- sosial og eldreombudet ved Ane Stavrum har nektet å bistå meg, og mener at jeg kan klage på dette til Nav selv!

NEW YORK  — President Donald Trump revealed in his financial disclosure that he reimbursed personal attorney Michael Cohen as much as $250,000 for unspecified “expenses,” with no mention of a $130,000 payment to porn actress Stormy Daniels to keep quiet about a sexual tryst she said they had.

The head of the nation’s ethics office on Wednesday questioned why Trump didn’t include this in his previous year’s sworn disclosure and passed along his concerns to federal prosecutors.

“I am providing both reports to you because you may find the disclosure relevant to any inquiry you may be pursuing,” David Apol, acting director of the Office of Government Ethics, wrote to Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein.

Apol wrote that he considers Trump’s payment to Cohen to be a repayment on a loan and that it was required to be included in Trump’s June 2017 disclosure.

But Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani told Fox News Channel’s Laura Ingraham that he didn’t think the repayment “had to be disclosed at all because I think it was an expenditure that he reimbursed.”

He also the president was “fully aware” of his decision to reveal the fact that Trump had reimbursed Cohen in a previous Fox News appearance and “endorsed the strategy.”

“We wouldn’t do it without him,” Giuliani said on “The Ingraham Angle.” ”He’s the client, after all, and has tremendous judgment about things like this. And I think it — that the OGE, the Office of Government Ethics, basically agreed with us that it had been fully disclosed.”

“The fact is that that president disclosed everything that he could disclose. He can’t disclose more than he knows. And we’re very comfortable with it,” he added.

But ethics experts say that if that payment was knowingly and willfully left out, Trump could be in violation of federal ethics laws.

“This is a big deal and unprecedented.  No president has been previously subject to any referral by (Office of Government Ethics) to DOJ as a result of having failed to report an item on their public financial disclosure report,” said Virginia Canter, a former ethics official in the Clinton and Obama White Houses who is now with the watchdog group Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington.

How Trump dealt with the Daniels hush money in his disclosure has been closely watched, particularly after Giuliani gave interviews earlier this month saying the president had reimbursed Cohen in a series of payments after the campaign was over. Trump and Giuliani have clashed over what the president knew and when he knew it.

In a footnote in tiny type on Page 45 of his 92-page disclosure, Trump said he reimbursed Cohen for “expenses” ranging from $100,001 to $250,000. The report said the president did not have to disclose the payment but was doing so “in the interest of transparency.”

While the disclosure didn’t specify the purpose of the payment, Cohen has said he paid $130,000 to Daniels in the weeks before the 2016 presidential election to keep her from going public about her allegations that she had sex with the married Trump in 2006.

Daniels’ lawyer, Michael Avenatti, tweeted, “Mr. Trump’s disclosure today conclusively proves that the American people were deceived.”

The tweet continued: “This was NOT an accident and it was not isolated. Cover-ups should always matter.”

The Trump Organization referred questions about the disclosure report to the president’s lawyer Sheri Dillon of Morgan, Lewis & Bockius. Dillon didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.

The Cohen footnote appears in a report giving the first extended look at Trump’s revenue from his properties since he became president. In all, Trump’s vast array of assets —  hotels, resorts, books, licensing deals and other business ventures — generated revenue last year of at least $453 million. The report estimated the holdings are worth at least $1.4 billion.

His Washington, D.C., hotel near the Oval Office, a magnet for diplomats and lobbyists, took in $40 million. His Doral golf course and resort in Miami took in $75 million. His Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Florida, received $25 million, and his golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey, generated $15 million.

Some of the 12-month figures for his properties are down from his previous report, but that earlier report covered about 16 months and so it is not directly comparable.

The figures are before expenses and so give no indication of how much profit the president made off the properties.

Trump has at least $315 million in debt, about the same as he reported a year ago.  One of his biggest lenders is Ladder Capital, which has lent more than $100 million. Trump owes Deutsch Bank as much as $175 million.

The debt figures are given in broad ranges in the report and capped at $50 million, so it’s unclear just how much Trump actually owes. The president’s tax returns would give a clear picture, but Trump has broken with tradition by refusing to make them public.

When Trump took office, he refused to fully divest from his global business, another break with presidential tradition. Instead, he put his assets in a trust controlled by his two adult sons and a senior executive. Trump can take back control of the trust at any time, and he’s allowed to withdraw cash from it as he pleases.

His report shows that Trump received $64,840 from the Screen Actors Guild pension fund. Trump has appeared in several movies, including “Home Alone 2” and “Zoolander.”

For operating New York’s Wollman Rink in Central Park, the president took in $9.3 million.

Though it was published three decades ago, Trump’s “The Art of The Deal” last year generated as much as $1 million.
