Hey Jumblr, I have a question. In the context of kashrut, do dairy alternatives (such as oat milk/almond milk, alternative cheeses, other things that style themselves as replacements for dairy) count as dairy? Is there any discussion over it or rabbinical stances on it? (If there are any sources could you send them my way? I’m curious to see)

I tried researching it and couldn’t really find anything, and I was thinking, it’s not actually dairy so it might not count, but also some things get interpreted in more of a “it’s the same in spirit/it’s close enough so it gets treated the same” kind of way. And since it’s trying to emulate dairy, that kind of thing might mean it’s treif?

Mk11 shang tsung: the closest 2nd his cary reprisal of the character in mk11. Good lord we will never get that ever again! He wa sso damn good in that game. The story being mid as it was,he was worth it all. Unf i love him sm

Mortal kombat legends shang tsung: underrated as fuuuuuuck! Like if the script didn't suck and they gave him more time and didn't cheapen him out. He would've been the best shang tsung in animation. Honestly,im so damn mad man! Them jammies. I want them.

Mortal kombat conquest shang tsung: also underrated. This shang had everything against him and he still kicked ass and was boss as fuck! Pulled no punches. And yet all the punches.

Mortal kombat 9 shang tsung: classic. How can you not love him. He's lower on the list because he dies so damn stupidly. Ugh.

Mortal kombat 21 movie shang tsung: cool shang. But not nearly as good as he could be. But he's higher because he at least is intimidating like shang. And has the charisma and charm still.

Mk12/mk1 shang tsung: *sigh* low tier only because the story sucks and his narrative in the story sucks. He should've been given a better narrative. If he had some intimidation factor to him. If alan lee was given more than crumbs. Maybe maybe he would've been higher. Shang is smarmy yes but not "THAT" smarmy. Like he has grace still,it feels like a joke and not actually something interesting added to the table enough. Alan i love you but no. I feel like he needs to not copycat mk11 shang aka cary hiroyuki tagawa. And honestly try to be his own shang tsung HONESTLY. I dont feel his shang being genuine enough to believe it. But also he's still cute so he's lucky. But i still can't place him high because his shang hasn't earned it. And honestly it's hard to replace cary. He set the standards sooooo high for me. So any other shang is good just always missing something. But then again,the writers suck. So not his fault. Still there can be hope....maybe....if nrs and wb like quit being weenies.

Og comics shang tsung(aka the crappiest version imho and for good reason): the og comics were before anything established so it gets forgiven for that. But it's not very kosher so....yeah. bottom tier. Entertaining,yes. Good? No. However....it is mk history,and is important to know your roots. So still important to read.

Honorable mentions: mk legacy shang tsung. Honestly deserves a spot because it's refreshing and cary once again reprising his role. But i can't have a full analysis yet. I have to watch his version there in full,tho i heard it wasn't good till he showed up so....i dunno maybe I'll try to find the episodes with him in it and see for sure. But bald shang is interesting af to me. Another honorable mention is defenders of the realm shang tsung. Ah the cheesy cartoon. A guilty pleasure of mine. Mk shouldn't be a kiddie cartoon but it did. But ironically it had more love put into the character development than any of the games every did. Especially sonya. Weird af. But welcomed. Shang tsung was exactly what you'd expect,bad guy got beat up. And only in like 2 or 3 episodes. Lol. But eh,it is what it is. He was fun.

That was my tier list. Now i didn't go into detail too much as it's late here. But this was also for fun too.

Actually, there are many Muslim states (57, 56 of them mention Islamic law in their constitution/similar) and christian states (100+). You're just used to consider it as the "default", so you don't really see it.

Some questions to see it more clearly:

What day the work week starts?(Sunday? Monday? Saturday?)

What are the "default" holiday/vacation days in the country? (Eg. Christmas and Easter? Passover and Sukkot? Eed (id?) AlFiter and Mawlid Un Nabi? Lunar new year?)

What is the calendar used in the country? Just the Georgian calendar, or any relation to the the jewish calander, the Hijra, or other calanders?

Ooooo. :] Who's Body Fey? And what is Coralan?

Bodi Fey is/was my Ace Attorney OC, an uncle of Maya and Pearl Fey. Since men of the Fey family are not really spiritually proficient (canon statement), he was not important enough to mention in the canon materials. His job was maintaining a tourist gift shop in the village below the Hazakura Temple. He was of average height, slightly overweight, and had a strong prescription glasses.

He starts of the entire Embodied Attorney series by visiting Phoenix along with Maya and promptly getting enschemered in an investigation, helping Phoenix. Just as he attempts to channel "somebody who could be helpful", he gets shot straight to the heart. The release of life energy stabilizes the channeling, so that's the first (and last) proper channeling Bodi's ever managed. Now his dead body is inhabited by a ghost of "someone useful" and the moment the channeling stops, you just get one dead Bodi Fey.

Poor Bodi didn't know really many dead people useful to homicide investigations. Actually, he knew just one that his sister had channeled almost thirty years ago. So that's how we've got Gregory Edgeworth into these fics.

Bodi Fey is named that because his sole job is to provide a body for a ghost - hence the name. And also after him the series is called Embodied Attorney.

In the Embodied Attorney series I've also made it the country of origin of Gregory Edgeworth's parents, making Miles half-Coralan (at least) by heritage. While the southwest of the AAverse!United states have strong ties to Japanese culture (you might have seen Japanifornia being thrown around - an in-universe explanation why the Us-localization still has all those things like bento boxes and kimonos in it), the northeast has a strong Coralan minority, at least in Illianois. Coralan curry is kosher.

The existence of Corala started with me seeing somewhere someone "hey, what if the Mitsurugi (OG/Japanese!Edgeworth) were Korean in Japan, that make the dynamic more fucked-up-interesting, right?" And I was like "huh, I like this thought. How do I translate it into the localised version without having to justify myself too much?" And since AA has already made up at least three countries, I just decided to make another. And give it coral reefs, because those are pretty.

The Jewish Bruce headcanon is based on the fact that Kate Kane (Batwoman) is canonically Jewish and also Bruce's maternal cousin. So sure, it's plausible, but within canon even if Bruce is ethnically Jewish, he doesn't seem to identify with it at all.

In my priest!Jason fic, I wrote Bruce as lapsed Catholic because that worked best for the themes I wanted to explore in that AU. Of course being ethnically Jewish and being Catholic are not mutually exclusive.

i don't understand why people are so invested in this. public opinion won't sway capcom one way or another about this. either she signed a multi-project/multi-year contract or she didn't.

The doctors and nurses keep reminding her how lucky she is. She doesn't begrudge them that— they've taken good fucking care of her they've and been terribly patient with her piss-poor Japanese, her mediocre skills worsened by fatigue and all the drugs they have her on. Some of those drugs she's pretty sure they're not supposed to have— she wasn't allowed to bring Adderall into the country, so she'd be surprised if oxy was considered totally kosher— but she doesn't mention it. She appreciates not being in immense amounts of pain, and besides, her last comment on the laws here was met with a shower of bullets.

So she waits ten, twenty, forty minutes, getting more and more annoyed as the time ticks by and thinking of what sort of clever snippy comment to make when Rester finally arrives to collect her.

When the door to her room finally opens after almost an hour of waiting, Matt is ready to just glower at the guy, but the bitchy expression is wiped out by one of surprise, because—

The woman in the doorway smiles thinly, stepping forward and stooping slightly to offer her hand to Matt, who thankfully has the presence of mind to shake said hand instead of pressing her lips to the woman's knuckles like a fucking weirdo.
