With that final answer for the night, I am happy to conclude this Welcome Home Q-A Wally's Wacky Weekend Event! However, because we received so many queries (And because we wanted to do art for a few more) We've decided we will finish off the inbox the following weekend on Sunday, May 4th! So return then to see Huck draw Barnaby holding an evil whistle. If you were the Asker that sent in an evil whistle question, you know who you are. Of course, thank you so much for all of your attention, participation, and helping us fund our next update! We will see you next weekend! (My birthday is come up, hooray!)

This is all just my own speculation, but I think Howdy might be next on the Witnessing The Horrors train. And I don't have an explanation for it rn but based on the recurring presence of the Buggle, I strongly feel like Barnaby's going to be involved somehow since he's Howdy's best customer (something something watchdog)
(Putting this under a Read More b/c I wound up having a lot to say)
Eddie's moment in the Homewarming update was based around him not knowing what to do with himself when he's not being the mailman, the role he was made for. Poppy's moment in the first Looky-Loo mini-update strikes me as being about her not knowing how not to be a big chicken (the role she was made for), as well as the other neighbors not knowing how to include her and thinking it's better to just trap her in her own house than to compromise with her, making her nerves worse as a result. Julie's moment in the Springtime Salutations update was about her insecurities in her relationships with her family and Frank, her insecurity in her roles (make the flowers bloom, invent new games, and overall be the most joyful neighbor), and not knowing what to do when spring comes early or a flower just won't bloom no matter what she does.
Howdy's role is to be a businessman, to supply his neighbors with what they need and sell them what they don't. My guess is that Howdy's moment will have something to do with supply and demand, his job and his personal life becoming indistinguishable from each other, and the pressure that family, customers, and superiors can put on a person to meet certain expectations. I also highly suspect, based on other people's observations about the flower from Julie's hidden videos resembling the logo, that Marlo will be relevant again.
There's an old saying about employment that goes, "If you love what you do, you'll never work a day in your life." But in-universe, Welcome Home is a product of its time (1969-1974), when America was kinda-sorta still riding the high of its post-World War 2 economic prosperity but was beginning to see a rise in income inequality. (What a funny coincidence that Welcome Home presumably aired while Nixon was president...) I don't think I need to tell you that, in 2025, it's harder than ever to find successful, long-term employment that will earn you a livable wage without working yourself to death or requiring a college degree that will plunge you into lifelong debt. Things have changed a lot since the neighborhood left the airwaves (assuming WH was ever even a real show in-universe).
But I digress. Howdy Pillar's Going Through The Horrors™ moment.
What happens to Howdy when his best customer (Barnaby) is preoccupied, either by sickness or a prior engagement? Do his nerves about financial success ever stress him out, as implied in that image of him and Anthony Rancho? What happens when Howdy cannot meet the demands of his neighbors to supply them with what they need? How would Howdy react if the neighbors suddenly decided to make their own resources, instead of buying from him?
If Howdy's not a breadwinner, appeasing his family and the businessmen at Marlo by selling enough goods to be considered a profitable business investment well off, then who is he?
He doesn't know.

🌸He likes the attention🌸
I like to imagine all the ladies with kids that come to the meet-and-greets, think Wally is the cutest thing ever.
People seem to think he hates ALL humans. He’s just really untrusting about them. But apparently that doesn’t matter when they’re giving him the attention. He just loves compliments, he can’t help it.
I got the idea when I was talking with my buddy @artsybug0. 💖 👁️👁️
He’s so smug about it, I want to throw him in a blender. Just chuck him in there, on high

Silly springtime doodles
Happy easter to everyone who celebrate! This update was so amazing. the site look great and the update itself had a great balance of spooks and fun.
I had really been looking forward to the frank and Julie content and the update really didn't disappoint. Their whole springtime newscaster segment in the radio was so fun. I especially liked the entire Eddie part of it. But honestly the entire radio segment in general was probably my favourite part of the update. I really wanna animate some of it if I get the time.
The siblings were great! they somehow sounded exactly how I thought they would and totally different at the same time. still getting the hang of drawing them but it was a fun challenge.
One that really shone too in this update to me was Howdy. He's always great, but he genuinely cracked me up so many times in sweet briar and doing the interviews. And Barnaby playing the comic riff was just perfect lmaoo.
but honestly all the characters were just so amazing. I was grinning like an idiot the entire time.
I'll probably post some more spooky fanart soon, because holy hell the Julie videos and the Wally voice recording was spine chilling.
Anyways this is the reference I used for the Wally one.

I thought the neighborhood was missing an old lady <33 So Here is Molly! (and Marvin) Despite being opposites, they have a healthy relationship! Aren't they the nicest couple? The grandparents of the neighborhood! They've been around for a long time! Side note, Her Apron pocket should be like Mary Poppin's Purse and can pull the most practical (and obscene) things out of it

We all know that something is going on with Wally and Home, but who else could be active behind scenes?
Frank Frankly:
Frank has been here since the Beta, so it's likely Clown Coffin has something planned for him.
Frank is obviously designed by Clown Coffin to be incredibly at odds with the rest of the neighbourhood; with his more reserved personality, less saturated colour scheme and lack of an "-ie" sound at the end of his first name.
He is the bug expert in Welcome Home, and there are literal bugs all over the website that happen to be linked to the Wally POV videos.
As the "smartest neighbour," it seems he would be one of the first to notice something wrong with the neighbourhood.
Eddie Dear:
Has the most mysterious backstory out of the neighbours.
His memory problems seem to go beyond being "forgetful" and into "plot relevent."
The envelopes the Restoration Project recieved match the ones Eddie is seen carrying and possibly made himself.
Sally Starlet:
Like Wally, she has devil allusions as the "brightest star" who "fell from heaven."
She is an actress, making it fitting for her to become aware of being in a tv show, and she would likely be very invested in bringing it back.
She has openly conversed with the Narrator.
If any of the neighbours had to be villains, I think Sally Starlet has the potential be the coolest!
Howdy Pillar:
Howdy played a role in the Wally Plush advert.
If Capitalism played a role in the show's downfall, shopkeeper Howdy would be good character to explore how making money often comes in the way of creativity!
Julie Joyful:
She has been here since the Beta and had that ominous image centred around her.
If Frank were to figure something out, it's almost certain that Julie would be there right beside him!
Barnaby B Beagle:
Barnaby has been here since the Beta.
There is a LOT of ominous imagery surrounding Barnaby that makes me genuinely concerned for the guy.
Despite his careless act throughout the videos, he was the first to acknowledge Wally's off behaviour.
Barnaby was physically present during the live interview alongside Wally.
Poppy Partridge:
Like Julie, Barnaby, and Frank; Poppy has been here since the Beta.
Poppy is a hermit who is scared to go outside. Maybe this isn't just a cute character quirk that the creators programmed into her, but because she knows something about the neighbourhood.
