S A T Y A ... Truthfulness. Lately I feel like I’m floating in the ambiguity of the unspoken. My tendency is try to read between the lines, to fill in the gaps. But I ought not and I’d rather not. Sometimes we avoid sharing our truths to try to minimize drama, to protect someone’s feelings, to not rock the boat. And yet, rarely does withholding ever achieve these ends. We won’t always agree. We won’t always want the same things. We won’t always be on the same page, or even reading from the same book. There is no short-cutting the tough conversations, but there is a reward at the other side: being seen and heard. Don’t let other people fill in the gaps and write your story for you.
