ENTER GOD'S REST!
ENTER GOD’S REST.
Hebrews 4:1-4
There is a rest that can only be enjoyed in God both physically and spiritually that will eventually culminate in the Sabbath restof eternity. That is God’s rest!
God wants us to rest, not just the physical rest that is thestate of quiet or repose, the cessation from motion or labour and rest frommental exertion of the body or mind but He also wants a spiritual for us evenin this life.
God's heavenly rest offered to the saints of old, continuestoday, and like some of them, we either refuse or fail to reach this rest.Jesus invites all who are burdened with sin and religious labour to come forrest.
He invites sinners, wearied in the ways of iniquity to comereceive speedy relief. To come have the rest that we are so in need off, deniedin the world and promises in turn in Isaiah 62:1 that He will not rest untilour righteousness goes forth as brightness.
Believers, tempted, and oppressed by the carnal mind, maycome to Christ, and allow his blood, to cleanse them from all unrighteousness, andpurified them from all sin.
God’s rest offered here will release the believer from theyoke of routine religion, making them humble and meek like Himself, whilegranting them rest and peace.
God offers rest to the weary, tired, oppressed, and hopeless.Wherever you are right now that has become a burden and creates the spirit offatigue can be refreshed in the Lord, He did not intend for us to care forourselves hence His invitation in Psalm 55:22 and 1 Peter 5:7 to cast ourburdens, anxiety, fears, and whatnots on Him, so we can pick up his rest.
We are his own, the sheep of his pastures that he feeds anddirects with his powerful hand protecting us.
But we must hear his voice, "Today," rightly used, you have no time to lose; tomorrow may be too late to enter God’s rest ofsalvation.
If we neglect and ignore God’s call and harden our hearts andears to the sound of His voice; as the Israelites did and wandered in thewilderness for forty years as stated in Joshua 5:6, we too will face theconsequences of not responding to the invitation for rest.
Forty years is a long time in one’s life to wander aroundwithout a firm plan and rest. Unbelief, doubt, and disobedience can keep us ina wilderness of our making, either physically stagnant or spiritually andfinancially crippled which will make it critical to seek and enter God’s rest.
Unfortunately, just as it was for the Israelites whodisobeyed God, by failing to completely trust His promises, we can fail toenter the rest that is eternal life, as they failed to enter the Promised Land.
God’s rest is salvation!
The promise of rest refers to believers, especially as thoseto whom the promise was made failed to enter it. Their failure was not becausethe rest was unprepared, because it existed since the day that God finished Hiswork of creation. This is the rest referenced in Genesis 2:2, God rest. God'srest is true, and it is His purpose that anyone who trusts and obeys Him shallenter that rest.
A foretaste of the rest Is given in the inward rest that thebeliever's soul has in Christ, a rest which, when once obtained, is never lostaccording to Revelation 3:12.
Do you desire God’s rest? Do not harden your heart, it’s nottoo late to enter God’s rest. The Lord invites us in Matthew 11:28 to come to Himif we’re weary and carry heavy burdens, and He promises to give you rest.”
PRAYER: Dear Lord, thank you for inviting me to rest in yourlove, help me to humbly accept and enter your rest in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Shalom

C.H. Spurgeon - All of Grace
Remember this, or you may fall into error by fixing yourminds so much upon the faith which is the channel ofsalvation as to forget the grace which is the fountain andsource even of faith itself. Faith is the work of God’s grace inus. No man can say that Jesus is Christ but the HolyGhost. “No man cometh unto me,” saith Jesus, “except theFather which hath sent me draw him.” So that faith, which…

She was gone.
Maria was gone.
She knew this might happen.
She knew it was a part of the rules.
So she would just have to accept it. She, if whom, knew what kind of a world this was. After all, wasn’t this just one of the endless gameboards she had made? Wasn’t she just a piece? Weren’t everyone here but mere illusions, destined to fade once the gamemasters had had their fun?

... And yet her heart ached like she was once again pierced by countless wedges, mercilessly tearing her insides. No, this was worse... Far worse.
Midst her mourning, the witch noticed she had wandered off again, into another place she had no memory of. Hmph... What an irritating inconvenience.

“Excuse me.... you with the long hair“ she called out, her voice coming out suspiciously monotone “Where might I be...?“

Artifice
@ofsalvation
Alright.  I’ve had to suffer through some nonsense before.  Being a Guardian, it comes with the territory.  This “Great Holy Grail War” though?  It’s an unprecedented level of bullshit.
I stumble inside the chamber, feeling my own blood trickle down my arm.  It’s a small price to pay for sidelining Assassin.  With her having more pressing concerns than killing me, I don’t have to worry about this floating goddamned fortress of hers trying to tear me to shreds anymore than it already has.  Speaking of which, ow.
Putting aside my injuries, I can see my goal ahead of me, illuminating the cavernous room.  This enormous repository of magical energy, I’ve seen it before, but not in this state.  In my life, it was tainted by All the World’s Evil, Angra Mainyu.  Even without him, this thing is still nothing but a danger to mankind.  The Greater Holy Grail, that’s my first target.
As I make my way toward the massive construct, I can sense a presence similar to that of the Maid of Orleans residing within it.  This magical energy is a unique variety, only found in saints.  I suppose she wasn’t lying then.  There is another Ruler here.
Reaching the Grail’s exterior, I summon a blade to my hand and slash through its hide, opening a passageway into its depths.  Stepping through the mass of inhuman flesh, I find what I’ve been looking for.  In the center of circular room stands a dark skinned young man, luminescent markings covering his bare chest and arms.  The red ones, they’re command spells, too many for an average Master to have.  The black and white glowing trails around his arms, I can sense primal magecraft and holiness manifest respectively from them.  Too few Heroic Spirits could access such opposite forces simultaneously.
The whole image washes over me and I can’t help but laugh.  Looking at this guy, it’s like staring into a funhouse mirror.  Someone must really have it out for me to be throwing around my color palette so generously.  It would seem I’m destined to continue fighting myself in some form or another.
Apparently enraptured in his work, my outburst finally draws the boy’s attention.  Standing across from him, it takes me a moment to stifle my hilarity.
Tumblr media
“I, aha, must apologize.  When I was first summoned here, I didn’t expect to be facing someone so familiar.”
Even before this Servant business, history and mythology always fascinated me, my native land’s history being no exception.  That’s why I know of a certain rebellion in the Edo period, led by one apocryphal saint who was supposedly capable of miracles.  He was even the villain of an old novel I’m particularly fond of.  The being before me now is known as heaven’s messenger, Heroic Spirit Amakusa Shirou Tokisada, my second target.
“I’ll warn you now, saint, attempting to discern my true name will do you no good.  As I’ve been summoned, I’m not even a Servant.  Even if I were, my name isn’t one you’d find in any legend.  No, for now, I’m just a cleaner, sent by the World to tidy up the mess you’ve made.  You see, I am the bone of my sword.”
I pour power into my aching right arm and force it to form the yang sword’s twin, leveling the white blade’s tip at my enemy from the distance between us.
“The salvation you’d bring mankind is naught but your own selfish wish.  As Heroic Spirit Emiya, I’ll show you what it means to save someone.”

@ofsalvation liked for a starter
He lounged comfortably in the chair beneath him. It was leather (of course, he wouldn’t sit on anything of low quality) and was absolutely heavenly. He looked over at the other, who was standing near, but not too close. An awkward aura hung over the room.
Gilgamesh turned his body slightly to address the other. “Welcome to my presence. You must be honoured to have my attention.”
Tumblr media
He gentle motioned towards the couch. “Now, now. Sit. Come, tell me just how awestruck you are right now.”
