Full disclosure, I've only been reading danmei since May. Also, I only read official translations. Others may be able to give a wider range.

But since you asked so nicely, let's go!

1) Yuwu/Remnants of Filth

Obviously, my number 1 is going to be the danmei I spend 80% of my time here trying to convince people to read.

Yuwu is a gift for fans of angst, literally opens with the MC getting stabbed in the heart and Meatbun doesn't let up from there.

Fun fact - the only Meatbun without non-con elements in the primary ship.

Sad fact - it also lacks her usual comedy.

Why I love it: Mo Xi, my princess, genuinely the saddest boy in all of danmei. I'm ridiculously invested in Ximang's quest for happiness.

2) 2ha/Erha/The Husky and his White Cat Shizun

At it's heart (at least to where the official translations are up to) 2ha is a romantic comedy. Tropes you may have found in other danmei hit so good (ghost weddings and shizun fucking).

Fun fact - Has my favourite confession scene out of all danmei I've read.

Sad fact - Being Meatbun's most popular work, you can basically collect spoilers like pokemon cards. Not even ao3 tags are safe.

Why I love it - Meatbun's smut writing is S tier and Mo Ran is one of my favourite protaganists... although he has some competition.

3) Ballad of Sword and Wine

I feel like I need to formally apologise for sleeping on this series after reading the first volume. It’s so, so juicy! Obsessed with the character dynamics and it’s always a winner when the main couple starts to dabble with each other in the first volume. It’s not Meatbun levels of smut peddling but I appreciate Tang Jiu Qing’s hustle. If you love courtly politics, graphic descriptions of violence and the most insane levels of sexual tension you will ever read. You need this danmei in your life.

Fun fact - I am as obsessed with Cezhou as Xiao Chiye is with the nape of Shen Lanzhou’s neck.

Sad fact - The sheer amount of characters will drive you insane.

4) To Rule in a Turbulent World

Enter You Miao! His introduction made me fall in love with him just as fast as I did Mo Ran! There's a reason everyone raves about chapter 3. Hilarious, horny and wholesome. The side characters are amazing, the main couple is adorable and it's giving hints of political powerplays. Also the first danmei I've read that seems to really deliver when it comes to skinship. The main couple literally can't keep their hands to themselves.

Fun fact - I'm only 50% through but I am buying every single Fei Tian Ye Xiang 7 seas is about to release day 1.

Sad fact - there's no pictures. Also I'm not sure how angsty it's going to get.

Bonus: For the toxic yaoi fan in your life

Meatbun's most unhinged work. She's peddling all the toxic smut fans of bl mangas and manhwas will be familiar with. Even though it's modern it made me nostalgic for that reason. He Yu is a clown and I adore him. Meatbun is airing all her kinks with this one and I'm not mad about it.

Fun fact- This is the first modern danmei I've read. Also, one of the more fun uses of the straight man trope I've read.

Sad fact - Vol 3 cliffhanger!

Why I love it - It's just pure Meatbun chaos.

Transformers One Official Novelization Worldbuilding and Lore Bits

Thanks to the Transformers One movie novelization, here are some worldbuilding facts that weren’t explicitly shown in the movie!

About Iacon city:

Cog-less bots can only work as miners, though the tier system (described later) suggests that they can move up or down a ladder of limited job options

All cog-less bots were born after the disappearance of the Matrix of Leadership

No cog-less bot has seen the surface

The book suggests that all Transformers bot, those who can transform into alt mode, were born before the disappearance of the Matrix of Leadership

Transformers can live anywhere they want in Iacon city, unlike miners

Miners have limited transport options: they can only use public transport or walk. The book also suggests that their access to the overall city is limited, said city being divided into main Iacon and the mining sectors

it is explained that Transformers rarely watch where they step when miners are around, often kicking miners as a result. Orion also notes that some will do it on purpose (yikes!)

There is a tier system that miners can climb. The movie has D-16 mention that tier 1 is the lowest. In the novel, D-16 is trying to reach tier 11 by the end of the current cycle. It is implied that D-16 is one of the fastest rank-climber amongst the miners

About Orion Pax:

His favourite Prime is Zeta Prime, who was the original bearer of the Matrix

Orion is passionate about learning the history of Cybertron, hence him often sneaking into the archives

Miscellaneous facts:

According to the novel, here are the Prime cogs each of the main 4 characters received: Orion has Prima's, D-16 has Onyx's, Elita has Alchemist's, and Bee has Micronus'

In some ways, the novel was better at telegraphing D-16's fall. The signs of him eventually getting tired of backing up Orion and failure to control his bloodthirst are more obvious to the reader.

Shoutout to the novel for also making Orion's motivations more obvious when it came to dealing with Sentinel: Orion knows that killing Sentinel won't actually solve the issue and believes Sentinel can be overthrown and stripped of his power without unnecessary violence. (My personal interpretation is that D-16 is using his desire for justice—more like vengeance really—to feel better about himself, not actually improve Cybertron. It’s the same logic those who support the death penalty have. They like the death penalty because it makes their own feelings better, no matter how ineffective the death penalty is for improving society.)

speaking about heartbreak: i was so surprised official merch has been made with the specific purpose of being devastating for porky fans (me) the Friend Yoyo's box has porky's original magicant dialogue on the side, about his low self-esteem, how he envies ness for being a good person, and wanting to be friends forever. the english translation really toned down that one- while the japanese original is very genuine, and makes a big difference in tone... in my opinion

not to be cheesy but seeing so many different people drawing&writing over 400 pages about their love for the series really moved me. the crazy variety of art styles make it all the more impressive.

the comics go from lighthearted silly comedy to existential dread much like the series itself does. if you're interested in throwing yourself into the same emotional roller-coaster, hobonichi is right here and i truly think these are top tier anthologies. seeing so much love for such an old series is so heartwarming. i'm especially happy that it has nothing to do with the general sentiment the mother fandom had back when i first played the game in 2010, which was general massive disinterest in porky- while i really felt (and still do) like he's the most important & most interesting character in the series lol... seeing him be a central character in these projects is so cool. pollyanna2's intro is a little letter from itoi about him. anyway,

UM. what a weird first actual post for my blog for this year... this is long, and i miss making ACTUAL blog posts instead of small threads... And i've explained on my twitter my thoughts on Hazbin / Helluva from a critical standpoint and artist from art separation, yadda yadda yadda---

ANYWAY... Episodes 1 and 2 of Hazbin are (Officially) out now, and i have some thoughts on the characters i wrote down after watching (In bullet points, because most of these are fresh-from-the-brain thoughts i wrote on my tablet from my bed)

This distinctive pearl necklace was designed by Joseff of Hollywood, who created jewelry for many films during Hollywood’s Golden Age. Because Joseff was not contracted to a particular studio, he was able to rent out his pieces to all of the film studios.

The above necklace first appeared on Kay Francis as Donna Lucia d’Alvadorez in the 1941 adaptation of Charley’s Aunt. In 1945 it appeared on Marsha Hunt as Constance Scott in The Valley of Decision. The following year saw it worn on the neck of Nella Walker as Mrs. Lawrence Tyburt Patterson Sr. in Two Sisters from Boston. 1947’s Northwest Outpost used it on Lenore Ulric as Baroness Kruposny. Ilona Massey was next to wear the piece as Madame Egelichi in the 1949 Love Happy. 

In the 1952 adaptation of Daphne Du Maurier’s novel My Cousin Rachel, Olivia de Havilland wore the necklace as Countess Rachel Sangalletti Ashley, and it features somewhat in the plot of the production. Richard Burton’s character gives the necklace to Rachel as a symbolic gesture that he wishes to marry her, which sets the remainder of the story into motion. The passage in the novel describing the necklace says:

There were four strands. They fastened around the neck like a band, with a single diamond clasp.

The description in the novel obviously does not match its representation on screen, but it is a beautiful necklace nonetheless. 

Finally, in 1987, the necklace was seen on Joan Collins’ character Alexis Carrington Colby in the episode of Dynasty entitled The Fair. 

The necklace eventually went up for auction at Julien’s Auctions in the 2017 Joseff of Hollywood: Treasures from the Vault. The action describes the piece as: 

A triple-strand, tiered necklace of alternating simulated diamonds and pearls with pearl drops. The necklace has four simulated mabe pearl medallions and is stamped on the back “Joseff Hollywood.”

by the way personally this is how i see tf2 canon in terms of “what’s actually canon/the most canon”

inspired by some DCA videos i’ve watched before lol

the first tier is the comics surprisingly. MOST canon comics are the mann co no more as they are the most plot minded and are actually trying to be consistent with the lore and characters. the update comics are a little less canon since they’re more jokey and meant to present the update rather than be apart of the larger narrative (outside of things like blood brothers and whatnot), but still very high in the canonicity

the second tier is the official videos, aka the meet the team series as well as expiration date. expiration date i see as a little less canon than the meet the team videos since it was by all technicalities a pilot and most of the time pilots aren’t entirely canon to tv shows, buuuuut it’s still very high up

the third tier is the OFFICIAL voicelines(i will elaborate more later). yeah the actual game is kind of low in canon scaling. why’s that?

well, the game was initially not made with a story in mind as teamfortress.com/comics says itself, leading to some strange things being said by the mercs themsleves that could be considered out of character in the modern day, such as medic making a reference to nazi germany in one of his control point lines despite the fact he later on ended up being VERY heavily implied to be jewish. on this, voicelines that were baked into the game on its 1.0 release i consider to be way less canon then voicelines done later on, especially after they got actually developed as characters. voicelines made later on that were made with their modern day charizations i consider more canon

the fourth tier is blogposts

these were made purely for humors sake to announce an update or new merch or whatever and often had the writers roleplay as a merc when they wrote it, so it ends up being either extremely uncanon or has info that’s never denied or retconned, such as the mountain range heavy lives in apparently being the Dzhugdzhur mountain range. you can pretty easily take it or leave it with the blogposts

the fifth tier is official valve cosmetics(again i’ll elaborate LATER)

there’s a very big tendency in valve made cosmetics to be wildly out of character for the mercs, such as giving heavy communism based cosmetics despite the fact it’s said clear as crystal in mann co no more #3 that heavy is anti-communist. extremely take it or leave it

the sixth tier is valve made maps, namely the earlier ones

pinkerton himslef has said in a email that some of the things regarding the mann family in maps like mann manor were made in mind as, in his words, “a tf2 version of treehouse of horror”, in reference to the simpsons’ halloween tradition of making distinctly non canon horror based episodes using the simpsons universe, and they are not to be taken as actual canon

the seventh tier is community made voicelines with the newer maps

here i’m talking about the VSH maps specifically. the voice lines were made beforehand before valve made it apart of the offical game and were not done by the original vas nor written by valve. you may say that since valve approved the map that it’s canon but that’s not how it goes. all valve does is port the map into the game, it doesn’t make any alterations period(even if the map is accidentally incomplete in regards to summer update 2024’s applejack). just because valve put it in the game

I've been thinking about how fucked up the interceptor's relationship with M2 is. And I'm not talking about shipping them even if that's a uniquely intense way to show what their life experiences did to them.

I'm talking about how M2 was in the same position Crescent was in, even if M2 probably never thinks of it. While she and the character we selected (in my case Aevis) are both in the frozen despair world for a few years (not the official name but still accurate) she writes in this diary. She writes about how she hates the fact that she's stuck there with Aevis of all people. If she made a tier list of everyone she could tolerate being stuck with from most favourable to the worst, then Aevis would be at the fuck bottom of F tier.

This is because he looks like the interceptor, he sounds like the interceptor, but he's actually a total stranger. She hates the interceptor but can't even take her anger out on them because they aren't with her. She's stuck with this skin walker imposter. Of course we know Aevis is technically 'the original' but not to Melia. Like Crescent was frustrated by her old friend acting like they didn't know her, and on renegade comes to see them as a parasite that stole his body, M2 basically experiences that with Aevis because to her the interceptor is 'the original' and 'real one'.

M2 writes in her diary that she wants to see the colour red again, that she wants to see the interceptor again. That she's going to hurt Aevis, just because he looks like the interceptor. Except unlike Crescent M2's wish comes true. She gets to see her beloathed old friend again. They say that love isn't exactly the opposite of hate, that paying that much attention to someone makes them important to you, even if it's in a bad way.

This is M2 and the interceptor.

I love Reiju. I love all the Vinsmokes actually, but Reiju and Niji are top tier I love them dearly. This is also SUCH an interesting prompt for her and I think this'll be good fun

I don't generally see Reiju ending up in a situation like this in canon, so take some Modern AU ✨

Content/Warnings: Reiju/GN!Reader, modern AU, hurt/comfort, getting together, rivals/enemies to lovers, Reiju's partner (not reader) is abusive and threatens suicide (you only hear Reiju's response to this)

You and Reiju had never gotten along. You worked in Germa's lab, specifically working in Reiju's department. Three of the departments were headed by Judge's children, and you worked in chemical engineering, one rank below Reiju. She was a menace. She did her job well, you couldn't deny that, but she loved causing trouble far more than working.

Often, during the day, she'd leave her station to wander around the lab and usually find you, propping herself up against your station just to watch. She'd remain there, silent, just observing. At first it'd been off putting but you'd become used to it over time. Occasionally she'd make comments, sometimes about your work but more frequently about you.

"Still single?" "Interesting outfit choice." "Is that.. a new cologne? It's.. bold." "Your car looks worse for wear, I'm sure father pays you enough to do something about that." "Are your shoes definitely lab safe? They look like they're about to fall apart."

Insult after insult. She'd comment on your lack of money, your possession of only the most basic necessities, your lack of social life outside of work. You were lacking in everything she had an abundance of and she just had to point it out. For a long while you were even on only one thing: neither of you had a partner. So, you could bite back.

"Still single?" "Same as you I'd wager, with that attitude." Until one day it didn't work. "Best pay up then, because we made it official last night." And now she had everything to lord over you. You didn't much care for whoever her new partner was. She didn't tell and you didn't ask. The two of you just didn't get along and you didn't think you ever would.

You hadn't realised things were changing for at least a few weeks. Reiju began to bother you less, and you'd been so busy working that you hadn't really noticed. But then it'd been days since she'd so much as visited your station, and it felt strange. You were unsettled by it. Sure, she'd been a bother, but it was your routine and you were confused by the shift. The issue was you couldn't ask why, she'd accuse you of having a crush on her or being needy, and even if she didn't you weren't friends, you didn't care. It was pure curiosity. So you didn't ask.

Your productivity increased with Reiju minding her own business at her own station, but so did your boredom. You almost came to miss her presence. Yes, she'd been insulting you, but she'd never made comments on your character or elements of your appearance that were unchangeable. It'd almost been fun before she'd stopped, once you'd adjusted to it and come to expect it.

Then, one day made everything change again.

Reiju was late. She was never late, but she was the daughter of the CEO so you knew she wouldn't be reprimanded. She'd dropped down heavily into her station, head in hands, and her phone began to vibrate. Then it stopped. Then it started again. Then it stopped. Then it started again. Reiju then moved with a grunt and the vibrations stopped - on silent you figured. You didn't ask.

The next day, she didn't seem like herself. More subdued. Her phone rang frequently through the day and sometimes she'd slip away to answer it, before returning slowly to her work.

That continued for a week, and then another, and then another. Reiju was far from being your friend but clearly something was wrong and if nobody else was going to ask her about it or make sure that she was okay, then you supposed that was your job.

That day, she was very late, having already missed half the day. Her phone rang within the first few minutes, and this time she answered from inside the lab, the others still out on lunch. Only you and Reiju were in the room.

"I'm not dealing with your bullshit today!" She roared, "I've missed half my damn work day and I've only just arrived you have no reason to be calling! I don't care that you're anxious - I come to work every day and come home just the same! Stop using that stupid excuse!" You sat at your own station, silent, minding your business as much as you could with her yelling like that.

"Dad is threatening to lower my salary, and move me to a different department because I've been working so badly! You know why that is? Because of you! You make me late every day, crying that I'm leaving you whenever I try to go to work! You call me every fifteen minutes to make sure I'm "being faithful" when you know I'm at work cause you have my fucking location!" You hadn't realised just how bad it'd become.

"I'm hanging up now and I'm turning off my phone."

"Do it then! Kill yourself! I'll ring the police when I hang up and they can come check on you!" There was a brief silence and then rather than turning off her phone Reiju tossed it across the room with all her strength, causing it to smash on impact. She took some deep heaving breaths and collapsed into her chair. You'd expected her to cry, but she didn't, just sat there staring.

You waited for a few minutes before approaching her station and leaning up against the surface, like she used to do to you.

"Hope you can afford a new one." You commented, nodding in the direction of her now broken phone. "I'm not in the mood." She mumbled, rubbing her hands over her face with a sigh. "I've let you off the hook for too long. Come on, dish some back. Might help you feel better." You insisted, and Reiju glanced up at you with an angry expression but tears brimming in her eyes. "Seriously I'm not in the mood today." She said, clearly barely holding on to her composure. "Your partner is an asshole. Hell, I could treat you better than that, and we hate each other." You said with a sigh, hesitating for a moment because 1. What the fuck was that and 2. What were you supposed to say next? Thankfully, Reiju huffed a soft laugh. "I know." Her voice was just a whisper, still desperately trying to hold on to her composure. "Want some help with catching up on work? Hopefully we can avoid that salary decrease." You offered, nudging her gently, and Reiju just nodded - both of you were more than relieved to be back in normal, safe conversation territory. You spent the rest of the day sitting at her station, working together side by side. You were ahead on your work anyway, you could afford to spend a day helping her out.

Things with Reiju changed after that. A few days after the incident she confirmed that she'd split up with her partner, and both your dating lives were off the table for joking about for a while. You returned mostly to normal, but your joking shifted from mean to friendly, even if they were still jabs at each other. You more often worked together on things, making up for each other's lackings and therefore both worked faster and better. You even got a raise.

It was what seemed like another normal day when Reiju approached you in the break room.

"I have a confession." She said the moment she sat down. "Hello to you too, Reiju. I'm having a good day, how's yours?" You replied with a raised brow and a small smirk. "Shut up I had to work up the nerve to do this and I just need to say it." Reiju said, and you just nodded for her to continue, not making any further comments. "I'm really glad we're getting along now but.. I was never insulting you to begin with. I've never really had friends and I struggle with what to say. I was trying to be nice, and interested in your life," already, your life was turning upside down and she wasn't finished, "and I wanted you, the whole time. I got with my ex because you didn't want me. I thought it'd make you jealous or something, that's the last time I'll take advice from Yonji." The two of you sat there for a long while just looking at each other, you bewildered and her slightly embarrassed.

"That's.. a lot to take in." Reiju just nodded. "You don't need to say anything back. I just wanted you to know." She shuffled a little, uncharacteristically nervous, and after a moment made to stand. You reached out and took her wrist in your hand, which stopped her for just a moment. You knew you needed to do something, so you let your impulses take over and you leaned in and pressed your lips together in a quick kiss.

The two of you separated, both surprised by what had just happened.

"You have weekends off too, right?" You asked, and Reiju nodded, visibly swallowing hard, a pink flush on her cheeks, "Saturday, be ready at eight. Wear something nice."

Obligatory Hypnosis Mic Post

Hey it's Emmet back at it again with HypMic posting! Because there's quite a few new fans coming in with both the release of Rhyme Anima+ last year and the expansion of HypMic events to the US, I figured I should explain what the hell is actually going on.

Hypnosis Mic is a multi-media music project created by King Records/Evil Line Records that consists of music, dramatracks, manga, anime, stage plays, live shows, and mobile games. It's target audience is women, though it can appeal to anyone who likes men in general. Before explaining the different forms of media here, there are a few fandom rules we tend to follow. This will be long btw so strap the fuck in.

Shipping wars aren't really a thing here. No seriously, there's 21 main characters and generally speaking any ship goes. With the exception of morally bad (BBcest, most main cast Jiro ships, and all main cast Saburo ships) and morally dubious (Samaichi and Hitojyu) ships, people generally don't care who kisses who. If you see something you don't like, block and move on. HypMic is also a multishipper paradise, so if you like that, welcome!

This is an M rated series for a reason. There are dark and adult topics far and wide, and trying to ignore them doesn't do the characters any justice. Here's a list of various potentially triggering topics that occur in the series: sex trafficking, general violence both with and without weapons, minor body mutilation, extreme manipulation, implied/referenced abuse including S/A, suicide including attempts, drug use and abuse, realistic depictions of PTSD and other mental disorders, lots of familial death, depictions of war and the aftermath, mild transphobia, and bullying.

This series is made for a primarily female audience. If you're a cishet man coming into this bc you think Ichijiku is hot, you will find no community here for you. The women are beautifully crafted characters and will be respected as such. That also being said, people who don't like Honobono are NOT misogynistic. She is designed to be a top tier villain and disliking her is not a bad thing.

We know the lore timeline doesn't make sense. Trust us. We know. Getting into this series means understanding that, being mildly upset about it at any given time, and talking to peers about it.

If I catch ANYONE using character trauma as a JOKE I will fucking find you and that is a promise, especially when it comes to Jyuto, Rio, Dice, Hifumi, and Jyushi. I will get you myself.

With that out of the way, onto the different types of media in this massive thang!

Main Canon

Drama Tracks: These are the primary source of the main Canon lore. These are simply audio tracks of events in HypMic, and they can be found on both YouTube and Spotify. There are translations for all of them on the Internet, but on the official HypMic YouTube and TikTok there are their own translations from the formation of the divisions through the first DRB. All of the lore contained here is what is part of the MAIN CANON, so if you're looking for story its going to be here.

Manga: The manga is an almost 1:1 replica of the drama tracks in a visual format, so the lore from these are going to be part of the main Canon as well. That being said, English speakers will have a difficult time finding any translation of the manga since the fan translations are kept under wraps for Reasons that Make Sense. Additionally, no screenshots of the manga translations are allowed to be made public for the same reasons, so it's incredibly difficult to access. Maybe one day we'll get a translation, but for now, if you're curious about the manga, dm me for more information.

Songs: The main appeal of the series! The absolutely massive discography doesn't have a huge amount of lore or plot relevance, and are instead just there to exist. A good 95% of the whole discography is, in my opinion, really good, but it's also up to taste due to the wide range of genres covered. Some songs that seem to have lore, namely Once Upon a Time in Shibuya, Murder at the House of Magic, and Stella, are actually songs based on Gentaro Yumeno's stories (they're also really good, if you like gay people who outright say they'd be friends in every universe go listen to Stella). Other than that, they exist and are Good™ but not all of them are on Spotify which is the biggest shame in the world.

Live Shows (Not Hypstage)

Hypnama: A weekly Livestream put on by the producers where some of the character seiyuus (voice actors) talk about various things. It's relatively goofy and unserious, though they do talk about upcoming news and merch for the series. It's fun to watch since they all tend to dick around on stage or get thrown into the rice field for enrichment time.

3DCG Lives: These are similar to Vocaloid concerts, where projections of the HypMic characters are animated while singing and doing little talking segments. There are a few of these out and can be found across the Internet, along with translations for them. The animation can be a little clunky at times, but they're a fun watch anyway.

Live Performances: These lives consist of the seiyuus (voice actors) going on stage to do live performances of a set list. There have been ten of these so far, with the discography all the way up through Block Party and RA+. There were also fan meetings recently that were in the same vein. Again these are just live performances of the songs, so no translation is needed!

Rhyme Anima

This segment doesn't need a bulleted list simply because of it only having two seasons. Rhyme Anima is the anime for hypnosis mic, and also has its own lore. I generally don't like recommending RA for new fans despite the fact that it's the easiest way to get into the series, mainly because it's not part of the actual lore and the characterization is...sadly, not great. It's got good songs, and season two has tragic yaoi, but other than that it should not be used as any sort of base for the lore.

Mobile Games

Alternative Rap Battle: Shortened to ARB, this is the legally required music media rhythm game. There's some semblance of story and lore, except it's all the most out there and absurd shit imaginable. None of it is part of the main Canon and the cards are decent, but the sheer ridiculousness of it is kinda worth it. It's not the best gatcha and it's really only for card collecting but the card art is available online if that's what you're interested in.

Dream Rap Battle: Also known as Hypdori, this is the newest game that came out. Once again the lore isn't part of the main story, but there is more of an actual story there this time. The gatcha is. Worse. But the gameplay is different and once again the cards are available online. Both of these games are only available in Japan, so you'll want a VPN or use the Qooapp (which is what I use).

Rule the Stage

Old Gen: There are two generations of Rule the Stage, which are the HypMic stageplays. Often just referred to as Hypstage, these shows have their own lore and canon. There are DRBs like in the main Canon, though there are different winners than the ones for the main story. Admittedly the focus isn't exactly the other DRBs, but instead the additional five divisions and 14 new characters, as well as the stories attached to them. There's even a cult following for these new characters who are collectively referred to as "Original Divisions" or Oridivis. There are five tracks with original stories, as well as BB vs DH, BAT vs MTR, and FP vs MTC. Each division also has a Rep Live with new songs and skits. The cast of the old gen of Hypstage all graduated last year, paving the way for the new gen. (That being said at least one of the old gen oridivis is coming back this July. So.)

New Gen: The new generation of Hypstage is still picking up and only has done three shows, but they're already proving themselves with absolutely outstanding stories. New Encounter was a retelling of the second DRB, Renegades of Female was a stageplay that centered entirely around the women of Chuuoku and the impact of the H Age, and Grateful Cypher was an interesting story around a group that were trying to make their way in the world without mics. There are also new gen oridivis, though as of right now we haven't heard anything insofar from them since Grateful Cypher. If I keep talking about Hypstage this post will be even longer, so I have to cut myself off but I am in fact one of the cult followers of Oridivi.
