After another unproductive session of marriage counselling they were attempting to work together on dinner like the counsellor suggested. Kurt was chopping the vegetables with unwarranted aggressiveness. He was trying to bring up divorce again without actually saying the word. Blaine was pretending not to get the hint.

"I just mean, it feels so crowded like this. Don't you think it'd be easier if we weren't - stuck breathing down each other's necks?"

Blaine continued to stir the soup with a calmness he did not feel. "If you really need the space we could always look at bigger apartments."

This was a bit egregious. There was a frigid and judgemental silence during which Kurt was probably thinking up some cutting retort. Blaine waited.

Kurt dramatically stopped chopping. There it was. The knife thudded to the cutting board to punctuate his frustration. "You're doing it again. Dr. Gallagher said you avoid difficult topics because you can't accept that things aren't as perfect as you pretend they are. You know what I mean. You're doing this on purpose. Stop."

"Then say it. Tell me what you want from me." Blaine turned away from the stove and saw that Kurt had abandoned the vegetables and was staring at him witheringly. So he relished it when he said, "Tell me you want a divorce."

He saw Kurt's expression change at the word "divorce,” almost a flinch, surprisingly a little guilty. It was the guilt that did it. It didn't matter if Kurt was sorry if he was going to do it anyway.

"I love you," Blaine said, to hurt him. "I have and I did and I will love you. Probably more than you love me."

"That's not true," Kurt started to say, but Blaine talked over him, vehement like he hadn’t been at the counsellor’s office, where he’d sulked in silence. His voice was starting to go thick with tears but he couldn’t stop. “You still haven't said it. It's not hard. Haven't you always said you’re not a coward? If you really don’t - if you don’t love me anymore why don’t you - ?” 

The rest was lost in a fierce kiss. Kurt had closed the distance between them in one step and pressed their mouths together, inelegantly. Their teeth kind of clacked and Blaine was reminded of their teenage overtures with their friends on the other side of a doorway. 

But they were alone. Kurt put a hand on Blaine’s jaw and adjusted the angle and then it was good, as good as ever, good like he’d almost forgotten. Blaine kissed back like he knew he always would, even if it hurt him to do it, just to take what he could get. Kurt’s eyes were just as furious as they had been moments earlier and he stared Blaine down even as his fingers cupped Blaine’s cheek with heartbreaking gentleness. There was something imploring in it, a message he was trying to kiss into him, but Blaine didn’t know what it was.

It was overwhelming. Blaine shuddered with a sob that was never realized and Kurt kissed him through it, smothered it with his tongue, and when the tears finally escaped Kurt didn’t move away even though he probably had things to say about how the salt was terrible for his skin.

They were interrupted by the hiss of the soup boiling over. Kurt cursed and Blaine rushed to turn off the stove and then the only sound was the drip of the soup on the floor. 

They looked at each other. The soup dripped steadily. Without knowing who started it they burst into hysterical giggles.

“Sorry,” Kurt said through his laughter. “It’s my fault - I distracted you.”

“No - I salted it too much anyway.” A pause. “On purpose. I was mad at you.”

“That’s stupid. You’d have to eat it too, you know.” 

“Oh my god, I know.”

And they were off again. When the laughter left them Blaine went to get a rag to mop up the spill.

Kurt followed him into the hallway. “It’s not that I - it’s hard for me to say because - “

The hostility all day left Blaine exhausted. The fatigue made him honest. “If you really wanted a divorce I’d let you. I just don’t want you to want it.”

“That’s the problem,” Kurt said, sounding upset again. “I wanted you to want it. So you’d give up on me and prove me right.”

Blaine turned to look at him. Kurt was soft-eyed and vulnerable in the bad lighting. There was the same imploring look from earlier, only Blaine was starting to understand what it said. It spoke of an insecurity so sharp it turned in on itself, and alongside that a question that wanted to be answered without being asked. 

Blaine stepped forward and hugged him. It had been a while but they slipped into the familiar posture, Blaine’s face tucked into Kurt’s neck, Kurt’s arms coming to rest on his back. He could feel Kurt’s ribcage expanding with his breaths, Kurt’s heartbeat against his chest.

“I’m never giving up on you,” he said into Kurt’s shoulder. Kurt held him tighter in response. It was enough.

Summary: Blaine Anderson applies for a promotion at his office job, but the application gets intercepted by a vindictive coworker that is also vying for the position. The coworker hatches a scheme to humiliate Blaine by hacking the secretary’s email and sending Blaine to an off-site studio for his “interview”, where he meets up-and-coming playwright, Kurt Hummel, while unknowingly auditioning for the movie adaptation of Kurt’s hit Broadway musical.

I'll Cover You (1,315 words)

Summary: Blaine is a theater professor whose class is currently discussing the musical RENT for an assignment - a musical that his husband, Kurt, just so happened to win a Tony Award for. So, Kurt drops by Blaine's class to discuss the production with them.

Summary: Loosely based on the 1987 TV series Out Of This World. (Klaine) If I Can Make Your Heart My Home - (Klaine Reverse Bang 2023) Life in New York City and working in the restaurant industry wasn’t exactly what Kurt Hummel had expected it would be. He’s lonely, stressed out and miserable. He’s almost ready to throw in the towel and return home to Ohio when a chance meeting with a musician in Central Park changes everything. (Warning: an angsty rollercoaster of a ride. Soooo many cameos from Glee characters! 😉)

(Klaine) Falling For You -(Klaine Secret Santa 2023 - NOW COMPLETE AS OF 4/16/24) - Successful doctor, Blaine Anderson has his hands full heading up the pediatric wing of Sloan Kettering Memorial Hospital in NY City. Life with that job and his precocious 6 year old daughter certainly keeps him on his toes - so much so that he thinks he can avoid dealing with the hole left in his life from the death of his husband. Little does he know that falling in love is on the horizon, quite literally, when he meets a florist by the name of Kurt Hummel. (Kid!fic with a bit of angst but a happy ending)

(RWRB) Puppy Love - (RWRB NYE gift exchange 2023) The cold snowy day that Henry Fox discovers an abandoned beagle puppy in an alley brings handsome, flirty veterinarian, Alex Claremont-Diaz into his life. (RWRB) I approach, and I withdraw (tentative title) - Historical fic - Alejandro Diaz was still a boy when he followed his father into the thick of the fight for Mexico's independence. A series of unfortunate events, however, led him and his family to flee his home and to adopt new identities for their own safety. Years later, after he finds himself well ensconced in his new life as an attaché to the office of the new American ambassador to England, Alexander Claremont soon finds his past catching up to him. (Inspired by these historical paintings by @stormtrooperjeff17004 as well as artwork from @artofobsession seen here and here.)

(RWRB) Shaken, Not Stirred (Spy!AU) - CIA Officer Alex Claremont Diaz is not new to working on joint operations with other foreign agencies. He does it often and he does it well, which is why his superior, Zahra Bankston, never hesitates to assign them to him. What he wasn't expecting that morning was to be put on a new assignment with his least favorite MI6 operative, Henry Fox - and that they had to use being a newly married couple as their cover to get the job done. (Inspired by this drawing by @noodles-and-tea )

(Klaine) Cuffed (a D/s and soulmate story and prequel to my first ever fic, Trick or Treat) - - Musician Blaine Anderson has always been lonely sub, yearning for a place to belong and someone to belong to. (Klaine) Untitled Klaine fic (Feudal Japan!AU) - based off of novel The Tokaido Road - On a personal mission to avenge the murder of his father, Kurt travels the Tokaido , braving its dangers and interesting characters on the way. As the son of a nobleman, Kurt travels in disguise, unaware that the person who sanctioned his father's murderer has also sent Blaine, a talented and deadly ronin, to find and kill Kurt as well.

(RWRB)- the phantom touch of your hand (tentative title) - (Fantasy/cursed tattoo fic!AU) Two young swordsmen are determined to vanquish a sorcerer who has laid a tragic curse on them both. The problem is, the curse keeps them from being together at the same time, doomed to travel alone, one by day, the other by night - the only reminder of the other being the cursed tattoo burned into their skin.

(Klaine) - Untitled Klaine fic (While You were Sleeping!AU) - Kurt Hummel always wanted to live in NYC - his dreams were to be on Broadway. Being on the Broadway stage that is. Not working on the corner of Broadway and 44th in one of those coffee/food carts parked out on the street. Things for him change the day that Cooper Anderson, Kurt's gorgeous repeat customer whom he secretly fantasizes about, nearly gets hit by a bus. After following him to the hospital, Kurt gets mistaken for being his crush's fiancee which should have been his dream come true - until he meets Cooper's sweet down to earth brother, Blaine.

(Sebklaine) Let you put your hands on me (PWP College threesome) - heavily influenced by "one of those movies" - wink, wink . . - Kurt's frustrated ( in more ways than one) and his good friends Blaine and Sebastian find a way to help him out.

(Klaine/RWRB) - Untitled fic (Scheherazade/ 1001 Arabian Nights !AU) - A lone traveler gets captured by a band of sex slavers in the desert. After being subjected to the horrors of slavery, the young man gets rescued by a desert prince in disguise, chosen to be his sole consort. Every evening, the consort tells his prince a story for him amusement. - planning a series of probably shorts all in the same style. Maybe it'll be a collection to do with other writers? Not sure yet. Might alternate with either Henry/Alex being the Prince and Consort and Blaine/Kurt being the characters in the bedtime tales or vice versa. Or maybe create 2 OC to be the Prince/Consort and have the other four boys be the characters in the shorter stories. I'm assuming it would be alot of mature/explicit shorts - but wouldn't mind a mix of other ratings in between as well.

Okay. The Kevin and Jenna thing.

Let's talk about it. Mostly, I'm going to repeat a lot of what I said : HERE. After listening to the clip, my thoughts are exactly what they were originally...

I'm going to guess, after the box scene stuff kinda was the straw that broke the camel's back, the producers finally went, hey guys -- we have a lot of unhappy Klaine fans, you need to address this. (And/or - probably and - they did get a lot of email about it.) So, they addressed the Klaine thing.

(As an aside - the transcript, for me, was exactly how I thought they'd sound, and listening to it confirmed it? Just putting that in the fwiw category.)

but anyway, like I said in my original thoughts on the whole thing -- I think I was correct in saying that Kevin and Jenna have been latching on to things they were a part of and they remember and kind of glossing over the rest of it. Layer into that -- they have a strong affection for Naya (and to Cory) who are both no longer with us, and even though we may think that Santana is terrible or Finn makes dumb decisions, that actor/character bleed does happen for them.

And I've always found that fair.

I've said it before, but, I think it's like when Darren decided to rewatch Never Been Kissed -- and he literally ended up fastfowarding through things that weren't related to the Kurt/Blaine story line. And he expressed fondness for Dot, etc, etc, but his memories were about his story line, and that's what he focused on.

And I think that's what Kevin and Jenna are doing, too.

Now, I will ding them with the fact that they are supposed to be being a little more professional about it (Darren was just doing it for fun) but from what I could tell based on my own experiences -- they only have 'x' amount of time in the studio, and just are not organized and proficient in the same way as -- say The Office Ladies or Pod Meets World are. So things are going to get glossed over -- and those things are things they have no emotional attachment to.

I don't think they realized they were doing it -- which is why they are finding it so funny now. I don't think there was any conspiracy behind it. And I don't think it was deliberate. I do think they're going to be ever so slightly asshole-ish about it going forward because they are more aware of it now. But I think everything they said on the podcast kind of goes back to what I said in my original post way back when.

That's my two cents.

(Also, another minor aside nitpick - they claimed that Ryan himself edited the box scene out of the episode which I find unlikely. I think the editor edited out because of time and... that's it. Kind of like they did with Santa Baby. I just think Kevin and Jenna were being salty about being called out on about a beloved deleted scene and wanted to dig in their heels a little there. But again, they weren't there on the fandom side, and they don't know.)

After 4 and a half months, I have finally updated Ljubili se. Phew. I want to get back to this story so badly, especially since, uh, I have a new Klaine fic idea that I am saving for next December.

In the newest chapter, Kurt finally gets down to business to defeat the Huns to move to LA.

Blaine’s off to the New York office and Kurt’s sat at home. His appointment with the student advisor is online, which is fine by Kurt. He fixes his hair and waits for the call to start. “Hello Kurt,” Ms. Joling says when she appears on screen. “Hi. Hello.”

And yes, I ended up naming his advisor after another Dutch singer whose music I personally dislike. I thought it'd be funny.

Fic: Blessing (Spring/Summer 2012)

Summary: During his junior year of high school, Kurt receives a glimpse of his future through his patriarchal blessing.

Notes: This is part of my Mormon!Klaine universe and a new chapter in Small Things, which I thought I had completed in 2015. Back then, I wrote some notes around Kurt's patriarchal blessing, but it was too fragmented to include—I had a deadline for a fandom event, so I didn't have time to polish it up. On a chapter of Out of Eden I recently posted, @georgiegems asked about patriarchal blessings and why Blaine’s was so significant to him, so I figured now is the time to write that part of Kurt's story out. (This is NOT a spoiler for Out of Eden.)

“I’ve been praying about you,” Bishop Longquist says to Kurt one Sunday a few weeks after Kurt comes out. “I think it’s time you had your patriarchal blessing.”

A patriarchal blessing only comes once in a person’s lifetime. It’s a piece of personal scripture—a message from Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ to a faithful member of the church, delivered through an ordained member of the priesthood called a patriarch.

Kurt is caught off guard. He only came out to the bishop two months ago. The bishop was so loving and so understanding that Kurt felt prompted, a few weeks later, to confess what happened with Karofsky. That went well, too—maybe even better than Kurt wanted it to go. Kurt felt dirty and like he needed to repent, but Bishop Longquist said it wasn't Kurt’s fault, so he had nothing to repent of. Kurt knows what the bishop said made sense, but he still feels like there should be some kind of time requirement between getting kissed by a boy and receiving something so important as a patriarchal blessing. “Shouldn’t I wait a little longer?”

“The time to hear the Lord’s guidance for your life is now, don’t you think?”

“But I’m …” They’re in the hallway. A group of women stand outside the Relief Society room. Boys are filing past them in twos and threes to priesthood quorum. He lowers his voice. “My problem.”

Bishop Longquist smiles. It’s a sad, knowing smile, full of love and carrying the weight of the world with it because of that love. “You’re worthy, Kurt.”

A few weeks later, Kurt and Burt and Carole drive up to Toledo to where the patriarch lives. Kurt’s never met him before. His house is large, practically a mansion, and overlooking Maumee Bay. The patriarch’s wife is in a pink rayon dress with box pleats in the skirt. She wears pearls around her neck. She guides them to the home office and sets glasses of ice water on coasters that line the edge of the patriarch’s desk.

The patriarch himself has white hair, white skin, and a dark suit with an understated gray silk tie. He’s exactly what Kurt expected.

They sit on opposite sides of the desk, talking for a few minutes about school and Kurt’s longing to go on a mission. He can’t bring himself to let go of Carole’s hand, even though his own is raining sweat. Kurt skirts over glee club and doesn't mention his interest in fashion or the fact that he finds so much beauty in other boys. He’s not ashamed of being gay, exactly, but he doesn't want to arouse this stranger’s suspicions. It's not like God is likely to mention it anywhere during the patriarchal blessing—his gayness might be part of who he is on earth, but it's probably not part of his eternal character—so there's no need to bring it up at all.

The patriarch explains that the blessing comes from Heavenly Father, not from him. He is merely the vessel. He listens for God’s voice, which he occasionally hears in the form of words, but more often in the form of spiritual impressions. When he receives the impressions, he translates them into his own words, much like Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon from Reformed Egyptian, a language he did not speak, through the power of God. His wife will record and transcribe the blessing, and copies will be sent both to Kurt and to church headquarters. The church will make three digital copies of the blessing and store them in three different places, and a microfilm copy will also be preserved in a secure vault. That means that if Kurt ever loses his personal copy, or if his progeny in the future should like a copy, they can always get one from the church. Kurt can also make as many copies as he wants of the blessing he receives, so that he always has it on hand to study and to bring comfort to him. “But keep it out of the way of wandering eyes,” the patriarch advises. “This is personal scripture, and you should not let others read it outside your family. You may sometimes be prompted to share a general message from your blessing with another person, but when you do this, do not repeat the exact words or go into specific details lest they take it on as the word of God for themselves. No one can assist in interpreting another person's patriarchal blessing for them. If you have questions about what anything in your blessing means, pray to Heavenly Father for guidance.”

The patriarch says a short prayer, inviting the Holy Ghost to be with them. He asks Kurt to pray, too. Kurt’s so nervous, he has no idea what he says.

Then it’s time. Burt and Carole scoot their chairs back a little to give the patriarch room. The patriarch’s wife sets a digital recorder on top of the desk and makes sure it’s on. Kurt takes deep breath after deep breath, preparing himself for the moment the patriarch is going to lay his hands on him. Even after all these years in the church, he’s not quite used to people touching him at these intimate, spiritual moments. His body wasn’t wired that way—not unless it’s someone who knows him inside and out, like his mom and Dad and Carole, and sometimes Mercedes.

Kurt closes his eyes and bows his head, feels the warmth of the patriarch’s hands radiating near him before they actually make contact. They’re so warm, Kurt thinks of fire, and then The Spirit of God like a fire is burning! It’s the first line of a hymn Kurt’s been singing before he even knew how to read, and when the next lines follow—The latter-day glory begins to come forth; The visions and blessings of old are returning—he knows the Holy Ghost is already there with them in the room, in Kurt’s heart, witnessing that this blessing is from God.

Kurt feels the words more than hears them. The blessing gives him flashes of his past and his future: the safety of the preexistence, living beside his Heavenly Parents without fear or desire; the wise face of Ephraim, from whom he and his parents and the greatest tribe of Israel are descended, preserved until the last days to gather all the tribes of Israel together; the comfort of sitting in his mother’s lap when she was still alive, him so small and her so large and all-encompassing; a solid hug from his father; the sound of his shoes hitting the pavement as he walks alongside his missionary companion, an indescribable warmth in his heart; pink sunlight bathing the interior walls of temple rooms he’s only imagined but never seen; the squirming solidity of children in his arms, his children, when they come home for the first time; an unfamiliar yet comforting hand holding his, firm and loving, its pads fitting perfectly into the grooves of his own palm; a man’s voice—not his father’s, not the patriarch’s—a voice Kurt can’t place and yet feels like home to him, saying, “God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.”

Summary: Blaine Anderson applies for a promotion at his office job, but the application gets intercepted by a vindictive coworker that is also vying for the position. The coworker hatches a scheme to humiliate Blaine by hacking the secretary’s email and sending Blaine to an off-site studio for his “interview”, where he meets up-and-coming playwright, Kurt Hummel, while unknowingly auditioning for the movie adaptation of Kurt’s hit Broadway musical.

WIP Wednesday/ Six Sentence Sunday Dinner Combo meal

I'll give you two bits of writing for the price of one ( for 2 different fandoms: Klaine and RWRB) because you all are so lovely . .

1.) From my current Klaine WIP (If I Can Make Your Heart My Home)

 Slowly Blaine wandered into the back of the room trying to track down his coat, cringing slightly that every person at the event seemed to have the same identical outerwear. “Leaving so soon?” Blaine whipped around, seeing Sebastian in the doorway staring at him. “Yes,” Blaine said tiredly, “I think it’s time for me to go.” Sebastian took a step into the room, his confidence oozing off of him. “Now we can’t have that.” he told Blaine with a grin. “And why not?” “Because it wouldn’t look good for you to leave without your date.” “This isn’t a date, Sebastian. “ Blaine sighed.  “I thought I made myself clear when this night started.  Not a date . . It’s just an. . .” “Arrangement, whatever, “ said Sebastian nonchalantly.  He waved his hands about dismissively.  “Call it what you want, I don’t care.”  Took another few steps closer to Blaine and causally leaned against one of the coat racks. “But I do have an image to uphold.”

2.) Here is the start of a spy fic that's rattling around in my head that would be a RWRB/firstprince fic .

Tentatively named, "Shaken, Not Stirred". This is inspired by a great piece of artwork by @noodles-and-tea

NOTE: In my research employees of the CIA are actually referred to as "officers" not "agents" like they do in the movies. So, right now I have the characters referred to as such - I'm debating to just chuck that aside and go the Hollywood route and call them all agents.

“What in the everloving fuck?!” “You heard me.” Officer Alexander Claremont-Diaz stopped in the middle of his rant, his mouth agape and seriously hoping his hearing had been effected by his recent stint at the shooting range. Yeah, he wore the appropriate ear protection. . .most of the time.   But what the hell? “You’re joking, right?  You must be joking, Zee.”  Opposite him, his direct superior, Senior Operations Officer Zahra Bankston sat, cool, calm, and eerily still: like a viper waiting to strike.  Her head slowly raised from the black leather portfolio she was reviewing.  Her eyes narrowed and her expression . . .well if Alex believed that looks really could kill . .  .then from that 3 second glance alone he would have been eviscerated, the minuscule pieces sealed in concrete and then dumped somewhere in the Potomac River.   Alex swallowed loudly at realizing his mistake ( REMINDER: never, ever try informal talk with the head of your division, especially this department head) and shrunk yet so slightly lower in his seat. “I do not joke.  Not about this.  Not about my job.”

HELLO AND WELCOME TO MY BLOG!!

Since there's been a huge influx of new people I thought I'd do an official welcome page! Hi, I'm SO (or you can call me Pam). :)

I'm terrible at 'about me's -- I'm old enough to remember all of the 90s, live in a place that looks like your hand, and run a bookstore for a living (which is not as glamorous as it sounds, but yes I get a really good deal on books).

I'm super into media and literary analysis and if you're looking for a place to find all my writing : YOU CAN FIND MY MASTER LIST OF WRITING HERE (I'll try to get this updated soon, it's somewhat out of date.)

I have some things to say! First off, have six sentences of Matt being a mess. @cutestkilla actually came up with this idea:

The polecat must be amazing at dodging, because it manages to avoid every spell. My spells are erratic and I hit parts of the office. Fuck, I am so fired after this. After I don’t know how long, the door opens again. “Miss Possibelf?” Simon Snow pokes his head in. “Simon Snow, save me!” I yell pathetically.

I actually have, uh, almost everything finished! Literally only chapter 5 is unfinished, but everything else plus the epilogue is done. I will probably tweak some things every now and then, but the fic has been written. Apart from chapter 5.

Secondly, not officially fic related, but y'all gotta see this fanart of Klaine at Kongresni trg, made by @esilher! I will get back to Ljubili se... one day. Look, Matty Chris D. just pulled focus! Also I told Esilher that I need to write Kurt and Blaine going back to Slovenia just so they can ice skate there. I never knew it was a thing, otherwise I definitely would've added it in Ljubim te, when they were actually in Ljubljana.

AND LASTLY, I, uh, suddenly and totally out of nowhere wrote 1.7K words for my Marlie fic that I started in 2022. Wack. I did scrap everything I had beforehand, but that's fine. I just got hit by the need to finish this fic and look I just miss Class. I know it was a failed Doccy Whomst spin-off BUT I LOVE CLASS. Woe, Marlie fic be upon ye! So keep an eye out for that one as well, I say, to my... readers? Do people still read Marlie fic?
