For hundreds of thousands of years, humans have sought to establish the fact that we exist. Alongside the very first cave paintings, there are handprints. What else are those handprints but an onus? A signature beneath the painting before words existed to claim it.
In Ancient Egypt, entire monuments were built for pharaoh’s, their names and likeness’ decorated throughout their tombs and pyramids, because to be remembered was to live on in whatever life comes next.
In Ancient Rome, there was graffiti carved into the cement. “Hercolanius is dead”. “On April 19th I made bread”. Just as we still do now.
The need to establish the fact that we exist, that we were here, that we lived, is something so fundamentally human it precedes language. It goes back to the very beginning.
So now I look at this new age. This age where we were given the most connection we have ever had with each other in all of our existence. We were all given the opportunity to make something, even if it was a single post, just to put out into the seeming void to say “hey I’m here! I existed!” Something that everyone can look back upon, even when we’re gone, just as humans have always done. The closest thing to immortalization we can achieve.
And now, these companies are taking that away from us. Two years of inactivity. A month. Entire lives will disappear without a trace. One of my best friends died five years ago. His Twitter will soon be gone.
Important, significant, cultural and pop-cultural events and videos will be wiped from the future’s memory and lexicon.
They are stealing our immortality. They are separating us from our humanity. Others will look back to us in the future, and there will just be a decades long void.
Our graves will all be empty. Anything for a cost cut. We did not exist.

Final Bug Fact:
The world NEEDS bugs. They keep the soil healthy, pollinate, control pests, and contribute to the worlds' ecosystem. By the end of the century, it is estimated 40% of insect species may go extinct due to habitat loss. Yes, that is very scary. But with even one beetle spared, one caterpillar rescued, and one Hollow Knight comic of all things, things will change. Because I know there's a lot more Dewi's out there than most people realize. Stay curious.
Thanks for going on this adventure with me. ♥︎

Comic Thoughts and Pictures Below!
I wanted to put here how amazing and sweet everyone has been with this comic. I finished a 75 page comic in 3 MONTHS. I am at a loss for words. That sounds crazy and it IS crazy. But man was it fun. Even on days were I wasn't able to draw due to fatigue or business, I loved working on it from start to finish. And guess what!? This is my first ever FINISHED comic :D I'm so proud of myself. I know there's some things I want to change and the art is wonky in most places...... but I'm content to let it be. What an amazing summer adventure!
I'm hoping to post the full comic on another Comic website. I may or may not edit some of the art ^w^ So I'll let y'all know when I release it.
Interested in learning what you could do to help your local insects? This is the basic stuff. Maybe make some Insect Hotels if you have the time!!! And never forget to spread the word about bugs. They need our help just as any animal on earth.
Still Here? Well you can look in the tags for little lore dumps if ur looking for stuff like that ;)

It’s just that “Better Than Revenge” is messy and angry, but also so very human and that’s okay. It’s disappointing to me that she felt the need to rewrite her own history on an album about saying exactly what you feel and water down her very human feelings she once had as a teenager. Her anger should be allowed to exist even though the target of it was misplaced, which was purely a product of society seeing that women were led to see each other as competition when it came to romance. She’s clearly shown that she’s changed her thinking from when she originally penned the song over a decade ago with what she said about “august” during the Long Pond Sessions and all of her work since Speak Now.

i can fully understand the gripes with certain misogynistic tropes/writing issues that are present in the execution of some of cersei’s writing, but i will never understand the “she should have a redemption arc” or “she should be more likeable/less morally dark” perspective. that is not what her character is or has to be to make it great. wanting more female anti-heroes or “redemption arcs” with moral greyness and complexity of the level that asoiaf gives to primarily male characters is entirely understandable, but do some of you people even like cersei as a character, like at its core? like this is not about criticising the execution of certain things when it comes to this character, this is about taking issue with her as a villain fundamentally, which i just do not agree with at all

Lilith story in Nb
Lilith was an outcast, as most of them 💕 (specially as Mammon)
It appeared they retconned the reason why she was punished and the punishment (or at least Luci doesn't tell us)

important announcement but if you are aware of the ongoing genocide happening in gaza, the thousands of lives being brutally murdered, and the whole issue involving the invasion and occupation of palestinian lands, and STILL choosing to be silent, unfollow me. seriously, if you’re not willing to reblog a single post from people who are desperate for help in this app, to speak up about what is happening, or just show your support for any sides (because if you show that you’re a zionist, dw that i’ll block you first), then get out of my page. this also includes the other genocides happening (congo, sudan, yemen...) and your other socials too because no matter how many followers you have, sharing a help post even if ONCE, might save lives.

The way fandom tries so hard to portray Laena in fanfiction as this evil, spoilt temptress who needs to be humbled because she dared to grab life by the reigns and pursue a man she was attracted to is just plain gross and reeks of racism. Laena was a vibrant, fiercely devoted, and skilled dragon rider who claimed Visenya's mount and took to the skies. She followed her own path, and I will never forgive the writers for reducing her to just the "second best option" for Daemon and an "obstacle" in the Rhaenyra/Daemon ship. I will also never forgive the writers for not exploring Laena's friendship with Rhaenyra, her goals, her dreams, etc. If you don't like Laena, fine, but don't sit there and slander her just because she had the "audacity" to be attracted to a man she believed was on her level. But of course, we all know WHY she's so disliked and ignored.

Dedf1sh and loneliness is so interesting to explore to me, like this is all in my mind but if they really have been hit by both goops, both things created by the lonely remnants of humanity so isolated that they were desperate to bring something familiar back from the long dead, that is so. So.
And they live now in this state of living-undead, the only person to presumably have gone through it both. Completely isolated by this experience. I'm just... outrrhhhgrh. This is literally just my brain filling in ten million gaps and producing out of nothing but sit here and imagine it with me
