I think it’s just short of completely useless to extrapolate anything about voting trends from the 2016 election numbers because Clinton was… fucking Clinton. She wasn’t just any white woman candidate she was Hillary fucking Clinton. That puts a thumb on the scale in a major way lmao
#it’s nasty and shameful yes no PERSON should be talked about like that#of course that goes without saying (within this Milieu at least which I trust ur among if ur seeing this at all)#but yeah between it being Not Hillary and the cultural median moving in a progressive direction I think it’s way way different this time#and the right has only moved further which alienates a huge swath of the electorate
