@sheroaredlouder for Adelaide
Though she had no real reason to visit the little café-shop in the wake of her true identity being discovered, in serving as Sabrina’s regent she did find herself more frequently in Greendale than she’d thought she’d ever need to be again and she couldn’t deny, to herself at least, that she enjoyed the milkshakes. And the food at Dr Cerberus’ wasn’t really the type of fare that could be managed in Hell; food had a tendency to rot quickly. She’d never found an issue with it in the past, when all she’d known was Hell, when her own demonic side could delight in it, but she had to admit her time living as Mary Wardwell had...altered her palette.
Hilda Spellman herself (the one witch who she didn’t actually mind seeing her here; the woman was incredibly non-judgemental which Lilith found to be....surprisingly refreshing) had just placed the tall and complicated milkshake in front of her, and she had her red lips around the straw, drinking with a quiet glee, when she saw another of the coven sat at a table, staring across at her.
Lilith stopped mid-sip, and sat back in her seat with a sigh, knowing there was no real way to undo what the girl had obviously seen. Not unless she wanted to wipe her memory entirely. She focused her gaze on the girl, recalling her name easily from the few members that actually remained. “Ms Luna, isn’t it?”
#i just liked the idea of adelaide having something in common with lilith#of both liking hilda and being at dr cees#adelaide getting to see her in a non-intimidating persona#v; regent#sheroaredlouder

Okay. I’ve had a few days to think about it. And I’m obviously enraged and hurt by the finale, probably more than is healthy, what I’m here to talk about today is episode 2, the uninvited, aka aunt hilda can’t ever have nice things I guess.
Thank you for coming to my ted talk.
Let me start by saying, all I wanted was to see Hilda and Cee get married and for it not to be ridiculous, because I feel like sometimes they make Hilda ridiculous just for comedic relief. And I feel like they delivered on it being so THEM but not ridiculous at all. Or just the right amount of ridiculous. But let’s back up.
From the top.
What do you mean Zelda just knew how to exorcise the incubus the whole time? What were they wasting time on the Damascus steel for?
Also, aren’t witches not supposed to do exorcisms, wasn’t that a major point of the first part?
Also, why wouldn’t the Damascus steel work on their wedding night? Zelda told Hilda in part 2, “you’ll need Damascus steel chains and he’ll have to wear them every time you...” so they are for sex, no? Or are we to believe Hilda and Cee haven’t had sex? Cool either way, but they made a point in part 1 of saying she was a virgin, then gave her a very sweet sex demon boyfriend and never addressed it again. But let’s watch all the teenagers have sex, sure.
Okay, these punks nick and Melvin are going to exorcise the incubus. Wouldn’t it have made more sense for females to do it so it didn’t jump into them? Wouldn’t it have made more sense for Hilda or at least Prudence or even Ambrose to do it?
(Ps, they even got Dr. Cee shirtless, does that round out the whole male cast?)
Okay, Theo is possessed. And has sex with Robin. And they’re both fine. And let’s go back to Nick making time with the sex demons at Dorian’s, who Dorian kept around for people to have sex with. So what exactly is so bad about sex demons? What exactly would have been the issue with it staying in Dr. Cee? Or is it just that he wouldn’t be in control, bc I get that, okay.
Speaking of Dorian. What? He got stabbed with an angel arrow but the heart was too much? Okay, I’ll buy that. But his portrait wouldn’t have been on the wall for all to see, and wasn’t the story that the portrait aged and he didn’t, so it shouldn’t have looked that young. Honestly, those aren’t part of my Hilberus rant, but it just shows lack of attention to details which shows carelessness on the creative teams’ part.
Also they recast Gryla and it bugs the heck out of me.
Note that the wedding comes and goes and Hilda has like three lines and Cee has NONE. At his WEDDING. He has no lines when they all get back to the Spellman house either, until his vows. What the heck.
But we did get the wedding in the parlor, with everyone in costume, and I loved that. Their vows were so perfect. I just love them.
So anyway I guess my point is I’m going to write a collection of drabbles with like missing scenes, and please please drop some asks for me. I’ll do my best.

I’m crying and it’s all your fault! This is so soft and heartbreakingly beautiful! You couldn’t have found a more perfect title! And the way you portray Zelda drowning in depression as well as being plagued by PTSD (which she refuses to believe she has in her classic Zelda way) is painfully accurate. The inability to focus, the drifting, disassociating mind, the flashbacks all just hurt! It’s so realistic that she would be overwhelmed after all the trauma she has experienced in such a short
(continued) time and hasn’t really had the time or ability to work through.
Hilda’s well-meaning but overbearing presence makes so much sense for her character. She’s just lost her niece and goes into full on caretaker mode in order to make sure she doesn’t lose Zelda. And even if her words come across harsh and painful, it makes sense since she doesn’t really know or understand what happened with Marie and how bringing up Zelda’s trust in her would be painful. And Hilda not realising that her forcing Zelda to get out of bed and to eat and to help pack, her choosing Zelda’s outfits and dressing her and keeping her things from her, her dominating Zelda without realising what a trigger it is fits the story and her character well and is just so heartbreaking. In her helping she’s also hurting and Zelda doesn’t know how to talk to her about it. 😭
Comparing Faustus’ roughness to Marie’s gentleness and how now zelda can’t trust either was just so tragic! Marie was supposed to be different. She made Zelda feel safe and loved and the realisation that it was all a lie and that she was being used would be so traumatic. She can’t trust gentleness any more than she can trust violence. It’s its own kind of violence.
You do a brilliant job of capturing Cerberus’ sweet, silly charm. He is able to be more considerate with Zelda because he isn’t eaten up with grief and fear as Hilda is. His non-threatening, respectful gentleness with Zelda is just the sweetest thing. I love that he is able to intervene both to relieve Hilda of the burden and to provide Zelda with some measure of independence and autonomy.
Thank you so much for this beautiful review of even losing you (the joking voice, the gesture I love)! As always, I feel incredibly in your debt for how much you support me and keep me motivated to share my stories. You reassure me that I’m doing something “right” with my fics, because if someone can glean all of these things that I’m trying to say so successfully, I must be finding the right words to say what I mean, at least some of the time.
I especially appreciate when you say, “She can’t trust gentleness any more than she can trust violence. It’s its own kind of violence.” That took my breath away, because you’re so right! Zelda is so used to having romance without any element of love or gentleness, and then Marie came along and she finally was able to feel what that was like... only to have it all turn out to be a deception on the part of Baron Samedi.
And poor Hilda is just trying to get through her grief in her own way, which is by pointedly ignoring it and focusing on helping other people. The parallels to the Caligari Spell are so heartbreaking but I imagine Hilda doesn’t even notice them. Her heart is in the right place, but just because she’s well-intentioned doesn’t mean she isn’t hurting and triggering Zelda.
I hope to write a few more sequences of Zelda and Dr. Cee getting to know each other better. The one that we spoke about, where Zelda tries to see if she can provoke Dr. Cee into a rage, is already in the works! I think Dr. Cee might turn out to be just the sort of person Zelda needs right now: someone who cares for her and expects absolutely nothing in return for that care.
This is starting to get long, so I think I’ll leave it there. Thank you so much for this comment! I know I’m going to be re-reading it over and over again whenever I feel down about my work.

so CAOS Part 3 is a mess
MAJOR SPOILERS for the whole season, you have been warned.
I must admit I wasn’t expecting the show to be brilliant but unlike some of my CAOS friends I didn’t think it would be a whole garbage truck on fire. And yet here I am, after watching all the episodes in one sitting, thinking “Wow, that was... definitely something.”
Don’t get me wrong, there were some good ideas – the pagan gods, the spider thing, hell politics... And there where things that I expected to be terrible, like Caliban and the whole Sabrina being queen of hell, that actually were not that terrible. Some other things though, I didn’t envision in my worst fever dreams.
The major problem I see from the start is the change of format. In Part 3 there’s no “monster of the week” with other events mixed in to create a narrative like it was before, instead we have basically one big story that isn’t as much as convoluted as completely non-sensical. I won’t talk about everything but just to name a few...
Blackwood got feral and summoned that guy from Shape of Water who gave him an egg in exchange for a blood sacrifice (Blackwood never did that btw, that part was just forgotten),
the Blackwood twins are suddenly 15 but also living in the 18th century apparently and no one comments on that, not even Zelda who risked her own life to save little Leticia in Part 1 and 2 (they also do nothing the whole season while living in a doll house??? wtf),
Aunt Zelda gets shot (like... *insert the blinking guy meme*),
Lilith gets pregnant with Satan’s baby??? (GROSS. NO.)
and what the hell was happening with Dorian Gray’s acne???
And these are just some of the moments that made me go “What the fuck?” multiple times. There is so much more to say (did we really need to hear the cheerleaders’ rendition of Tricky twice??? it wasn’t very good the first time) that I don’t even know what’s the worst (Mambo Marie is the flattest character ever, but alright, that kiss was hot). But probably the murder of both Mary Wardwell’s and Lilith’s characters, the literal murder of Dorcas that served absolutely no purpose (she should have been saved, why not her, when everybody else - even Doctor Cerberus who got fucking digested by a spider!!!).
And just to breathe, some things I did like: Hilda pretending to be Blackwood, Zelda calling Hilda “Hildy”, Zelda looking freaking amazing in every shot (QUEEN), Dr. Cee proposing, Mary trying to discover what happened (before the show ruined it), the coven praying to Lilith (even though they kept calling her Madam Satan), the hedge witches (they should have done more), Sabrina not being as annoying as I expected.
They didn’t even give Aunt Zee foreign papers to read!!!

I'd like to request something please 👉👈 Reader and the Spellman sisters know each other since centuries and both of them had a massive crush on the reader, but reader didn't want to break the heart of either of them and left. Years later Hilda's happy with Dr. Cee, but Zelda is still mourning her love until the reader invites Zee to her home and Zelda confesses her love. Reader loves her too. Thanks a lot for writing stories, hope you'll write this one too. 💕
Between Two Lungs
AN: Love a fluffy reunion fic 🖤 Title from the Florence and the Machine song of the same name
The Spellman sisters were always vying for your attention. You know they loved you dearly. It was like a competition between the two of them, and you hated the way it was tearing them apart, pitting them against each other. You didn’t want to hurt either of them, cared for them both far too much, and so you had left, hoping that the two women could find a way to move on, find a way to converse in a way that wasn’t just petty arguing, act like sisters again, that love and care for each other as sisters should.
You'd kept in touch with them a little over the years, but had kept your distance, never visited in person. You sent the odd letter occasionally, and Hilda always replied. She had to speak on behalf of Zelda, for she never did. The witch is headstrong, and you know she's angry at you for abandoning them, will probably always be angry.
When you receive the letter from Hilda announcing her engagement, you're happy, ecstatic for her, and also relieved. She’s found happiness, and that’s all you’ve ever wanted for her. For both of them. She tells you of all that has happened with Zelda, her marriage to Father Blackwood, the turmoil he had put her through, and now she is High Priestess. You're glad of that too. Zelda was made for power, for leadership, and you know that no one could lead a coven as well as her. She may keep up the facade of being aloof, the facade of a cold exterior, but when Zelda cares, she cares deeply, with her entire being, and you know that she will extend that to her Coven, the people who choose to follow her in her endeavour.
You hadn't expected a reply when you invite Zelda to visit you. You didn’t get one, either. You'd almost given up hope of ever seeing the redhead again. Until there's a knock at your door one evening, while you’re sat on your sofa sipping a glass of wine, with a H.P Lovecraft volume nestled in your lap, fire blazing in the hearth.
Zelda stands there when you open the door, and it feels as though the breath has been knocked from your lungs. She looks beautiful, achingly, perfectly beautiful. Curled copper hair cascading over her shoulders, deep red lips to match the burgundy chiffon blouse tucked into her tight black pencil skirt. To your astonishment, she looks nervous, picking at the skin around her nails as you stand in shocked silence, scrutinising her from head to toe.
“Zelda.” You exhale the breath you hadn't even realised you'd been holding, a smile of relief on your face, and she relaxes a little, smiling in return. “I-Um. I hadn't expected you to come.”
You step to the side, opening the door wider, and your eyes flutter closed as she brushes past you and her scent envelopes you. She smells the same. An earthy, woody scent, mingled with tobacco, and a floral perfume. Your heart is beating erratically as you close the door and turn to face her, find her eyes roving your form, taking you in.
“I almost didn't come.”
You nod, clearing your throat, and you leave the room briefly to get an empty glass, coming back to pour her some wine. She takes it gratefully, and you can see her hand tremble slightly as she takes a generous gulp.
“It hurt me when you left.” Her voice cuts into the silence, and she sinks onto the sofa, looking at you with sad eyes as you perch beside her.
“I know. Things were just-I don’t know. Awkward. I cared for you both too much to hurt either of you.”
“But in leaving you hurt us both.” Her mouth is set in a thin line as she moves her gaze from you to the fire, and you flinch at her words. You'd never thought of it that way, that in trying to avoid hurting them both by choosing, you had hurt them both anyway. It makes your heart ache, has tears gathering in your eyes.
“I couldn't stand the way it was making you treat each other.” You whisper, eyes falling to your lap as a tear slips down your cheek.
“We're grown women. It's not for you to judge or decide how we act towards one another. And certainly not something you should blame yourself for.” She snaps, and you try to discreetly brush the tear away. Zelda grips your chin gently and tilts your head to look at her, wipes away another tear with the pad of her thumb as it streaks down your cheek.
“Who would you have chosen? If you'd had to.” Her eyes bore into yours, and you close your eyes, sighing.
“Zelda-"
“Answer the question.”
“You! It was always you!” You stand abruptly, pacing the rug and running a hand through your hair, downing the last dregs of your wine in hopes it will quell your nerves. When you look to the redhead, her eyes are shining with tears, and her features have softened as she gazes at you.
“It was always you, Zelda. But Hilda-"
“Hilda has found a new love now. She's happy with her mortal.” She says softly as she places her glass down on the coffee table. She stands and removes your glass from your hand, placing it beside hers before taking both of your hands and squeezing them affectionately. She brings them up to her face, kisses your fingertips, your palms, your wrists, and your heart feels as though it's going to burst from your chest, your breathing shallowing as you watch the tender gesture.
“I've not stopped mourning the loss of you since the day you left, you know. Not even for a moment.” She whispers, and your bottom lip trembles as you give in, allow yourself to tangle your hands in her hair and press yourself close to her. You shiver as she wraps her arms around your waist and rests her forehead on yours. “I love you so very much, Y/N.”
“I love you too, Zelda.” She kisses you then, gentle and tentative, and then desperate, hungry, like an outpouring of emotion against your lips as tongue meets tongue, teeth graze your lips. Your chest is heaving slightly when you pull away, hands fisted in her hair, keeping her forehead to yours.
“Stay with me.” You murmur, and her lips brush yours again and you sigh against her.
“I'm not going anywhere, and tomorrow you’re coming home with me.” She pulls you toward the sofa, sits down on it and pulls you into your lap, your thighs either side of her.
“Yes ma’am. I’m not going to argue with that.” You grin and she chuckles, stroking her slender hands up your back and pulling you flush against her. You grind against her thigh, releasing a needy whine, and she smirks. You'd never been intimate with either of the sisters, but you'd had many an explicit thought regarding the redhead, before you had left, and even more so after, when you lay in your bed alone, in your empty apartment.
“I've wanted to undress you for the longest time. May I do so now?” Her hands slide down to your ass, and you push back against her, biting your lip.
“Yes. Please.”
She kisses you again, full of passion and love, as she begins to undress you, hands pushing your shirt up your torso, fingers grazing over bare skin. You spend the whole night exploring each other's bodies, until you both lay spent and panting in each other's arms in the glow of the fire, feeling content, and complete, now that the two of you are together. You'll never let her go again, couldn’t imagine being without her now that you feel free to love her without fear for anybody else's feelings. It's as if you've never been apart, it just feels so right, being with her, and you want that for the rest of your life.

2020 Fic Author Questions
Tagged by: @singofsolace and @timelady-queenofhell thank you! You’re both true gems and this is just the kick I need while I get back to writing again!
Name: hypothetical_chainsaw
Fandom(s): Chilling Adventures of Sabrina (CAOS), Downton Abbey, True Blood
Where you post: AO3
Most Popular One Shot (by kudos) this year:
If on a Winter's Night a High Preistess
The newly crowned Queen of Hell and her High Priestess have run out of viable locales for their rendezvous where they won't be disturbed by one of the Spellmans, a demon on the warpath, or a student desperate for a homework extension. The alley behind Greendale Town Hall will suffice, right?
Most Popular One Shot (by kudos) overall:
Same as above - y’all really love a little alley sex, huh?
Most Popular Multi-Chapter (by kudos) this year:
Tales of a Midwife
A collection of oneshots that tell stories of the Spellman sisters as midwives, as told by timelady_queenofhell & hypothetical_chainsaw.
Inspired by Call The Midwife but set in the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina universe. Each chapter will be like an episode, a standalone, but all set in the same world. Be prepared for drama, emotions, heartache and fluff.
Written alongside the lovely @timelady-queenofhell 💜
Most Popular Multi-Chapter (by kudos) overall:
Still Tales of a Midwife; I’d been a one shot writer until this year when I’ve finally been giving a few multi-chapters a go.
Favourite story you’ve written so far:
Oleander Yolling
This fic is my baby and is pure self indulgence on my part. It’s the first time I’d written from Hilda’s POV and if I had more stories that could be told through her eyes I would never write from another perspective again. (That’s a barefaced lie, I adore writing Zelda’s unspoken hope being crushed in the most angst-filled manner to ever give up writing her POV.) It let me research for days, which is my true weakness, and carries on my endless Zarie love. I’m currently working on the final chapter and I’m so excited for people to finally be able to read the scene that made me write this in the first place!
The mortuary has been quiet in the months since they defeated the pagans and Marie became a permanent resident. There have been no attempts on their lives, from external sources or those closer to home, and Hilda's eternally grateful. Now their peace is threatened, Zelda and Marie's relationship is met with a potentially difficult conversation and Hilda's left with the unnerving feeling that she'll be reacquainting herself with the Cain pit sooner than she'd hoped.
Fic you were nervous to post:
Water in a Whiskey Glass
Honestly everything about this one made me nervous. While I’m a-okay with writing dark and twisty this felt more delicate and far more in need of care and respect. Add to that that this isn’t my ship, I didn’t want to write it from a ship perspective, I wasn’t sure how it would be received, and the fact that I’m so much more comfortable writing women and pressing ‘post’ had me terrified.
80 years before canon, a Spellman/Blackwood alliance would solidify their place at the head of two of the coven's most powerful families. Tomorrow would bring it about, tomorrow she would have Hilda confirm it, and tomorrow she would start the journey to most powerful witch the Church of Night had seen in centuries.
How do you choose titles?:
I hate choosing titles! I got around it for a while by writing a series that featured what I saw as key musical movements of Zelda’s life (if you’re telling me dramatic polyglot, Miss Zelda Spellman, wouldn’t have listened to a bit of Pucchini or 18th century murder ballads then we’ll have to agree to disagree) but if there’s no music in it then I’ll pick a line that seems vaguely apt seconds before posting.
Do you outline?:
Gods no! I’ll write a two/three line summary, tops and then I’m completely relying on Zelda to take the reigns and do whatever the fuck she wants.
Complete:
13
In-Progress:
3 - Oleander Yolling, Tales of a Midwife, An Agreeable Match
Coming soon/not yet started:
This is a dangerous question...I currently have 18 WIPs but the ones that will likely be coming soonest are a Zelda (and Ambrose) centric Christmas/Midwinter Solstice piece and a festive instalment of Tales of a Midwife
Prompts?:
Do challenges count? I’ve never taken a prompt before but honestly would love to! I’m open to Zarie, Zelda-centric and Hilda-centric prompts and would love you forever if you sent one!
Upcoming work you’re most excited about:
The Wedding Board (working title) which is a Spellman sister’s fic in which Hilda tries to balance her excitement at planning hers and Dr Cee’s wedding with being mindful of Zelda’s less than stellar wedding having been only a few months prior.
Tagging: Everyone was probably tagged an eternity ago but if you’re looking for an excuse to do this consider this it! (and please tag me so I can be nosy!!)

Unpopular opinion I suspect: as much as I like Dr Cee and Hilda, I'm actually not that big on it. I liked that Hilda as a witch who'd never had sex, or dated either, for all the centuries of her life was so different from the rest, but didn't rush to change that. And I liked the idea of there being Ace Representation in Hilda, as Aces get even more erasure than Bi. So I feel like it was 'yeah she has no experience but within the first season we give her a love interest after centuries of none' And I would rather they'd had the boldness to keep Hilda single, without the need for a love interest nor without giving into any pressure from any society that she needs to have sex or a relationship. I think it would have been strong representation as both Ace rep and as a single woman in general.

CHAPTER 1 | CHAPTER 2 | CHAPTER 3| CHAPTER 4| CHAPTER 6 PART 1 |
CHAPTER 6 PART 2|
SUMMARY: Pagans swarmed into Greendale. Sabrina & Caliban compete in the final regalia.
CHAPTER 5: THE CHALLENGE
SABRINA POV
I can’t believe that was our first kiss and it felt electrifying. After our kiss, I had to calm my heart rate from speeding up too fast. You shouldn’t be overreacting like this Sabrina, it’s just a kiss with your husband who you’re in a political marriage with.
I looked up towards Caliban and Ambrose, “Okay since our wedding is done. We need to make a quick stop here on earth to take care of the pagans before we can move forward with the third challenge. Does that sound good to you?”
“Sounds good to me, cousin. I’m going to head back to the academy to check on Aunt Zee, Prudence and Aunt Hilda. I’ll leave you and your loverboy here to plan but meet back at the academy please.”
On that note, Ambrose bid me and Caliban adieu.
I was so deep in thought, Caliban started to shake my shoulder trying to snap me out of my revoir.
“Princess, are you okay?” Caliban looked at me concerned but I blocked him out. Why does this kiss have a deeper effect on me? Thinking back to my kisses with Harvey’s and Nick’s, my kiss with Caliban felt more significantly different than theirs. Hmm is it because he knows what I’m going through trying to live up to everyone’s expectations? That he understands me on a level that no one can perceive but us. We’re both “competing” against each other for the throne. But maybe this marriage thing could work out. And he’s been more considerate now since he helped me and the gang saved Roz. But we’ll see where this goes. I didn’t notice in my reverie while I was thinking about Caliban, that I was staring at his lips the entire time.
Caliban saw the direction of my stare has changed and started to give me that cheeky grin of his.
“Care for another my Queen?”
I gave Caliban a slight shove and my blush began to give away my true feelings.
“My dear husband, focus on the plan here. We need to figure out how to defeat the pagans and also plan for the third challenge.”
“Hold on, one situation at a time my Queen. Maybe if we regroup with your aunties and cousin, we’ll be able to figure out everything together.”
“Fine Caliban. We’ll focus on the pagans then we can continue on with planning for the challenge.”
“As you wish, my Queen.”
“Wait before I forget, maybe we should change our wedding attire back into our regular clothes. Since we don’t want to show everyone that we’ve gotten married, right?” I felt a blush reddening on my cheeks, looking down away from him.
“That would be a good idea my Queen. And we’ll have to glamour our rings as well until we reveal to everyone that we’re married.”
We were walking back to the dressing rooms that Ambrose made up for us. While I was changing, I kept staring at my ring. It was a rose gold band encrusted with diamond and a moonstone shaped like a teardrop. Even the matching wedding band itself was beautiful as well. A rose gold band with a diamond arch to match with the engagement ring.
While I was gazing at my ring, I almost forgot to use a glamour to hide it.
“Abscondere annulum meum.” I murmured to myself and my ring was hidden away. But not for long, it’ll reappear again. I’m probably overthinking this but Caliban chose beautiful rings for me even though we barely know each other that well. Maybe Ambrose had a hand in this since he’s my cousin after all. At least I’m back wearing my regular clothes even though I did love the gown that Deumos made for me.
I heard a knock at the door.
“Princess, you’re taking your sweet time in there. Might you need assistance on changing because I will be happily obliged to do that.”
“That is definitely not necessary for you to do that. I was about to get out anyways.”
After I opened the door, I was met by Caliban’s face staring at me. He was rather pleased with himself in trying to make me blush. Luckily my embarrassment went away before I opened the door. We both left the dressing rooms and headed outside to the clearing.
“Let’s head back to the academy and regroup with everyone.”
As I felt Caliban’s flames start to ignite, I felt his arm wrapped around my shoulder as we began to teleport back to the academy. Caliban’s flames began to dispitate and his grip on my shoulder loosen down. We appeared in front of the entrance of the academy and started to walk through the doors to head inside. I stood in front of Caliban as I led us to the academy’s office. Due to the chaos with the pagans, the halls were empty with no one in sight. I walked into the office and saw Aunt Zee, Aunt Hilda, Ambrose and Prudence gathered around.
“Hi everyone! What’s going on here?”
“There you are Sabrina. We were wondering where you had gone off to and I’m not surprised you’re not putting much commitment to the family or the coven.” Aunt Zee said while she was smoking her cigarette. Oh classic Aunt Zee with her comebacks.
“School ran late but I made it just in time! I also brought a friend with me who might be able to help us. Everyone this is Caliban, Prince of Hell.”
“It’s a pleasure to meet you all.”
“Isn’t this the same Caliban that you’re going against the throne for?” Aunt Zee quipped up.
“Auntie Zee, defeating the pagans is our top priority and we need all the help we can get. Now what’s happened since I’ve been away?”
“Well cousin, since we captured Circe we need to figure how to defeat the pagans before they start to retaliate.” Ambrose interjected to dispel any tension simmering before it heated up.
“So how long do you think we have before they start to raid us?”
“About 2 to 3 days but not much any longer.”
“We’ve already killed 4 of their members and have Circe held captive. We need to reconvene and gather everyone together.” Prudence added into the conversation.
“Okay Aunt Zee and Aunt Hilda, you guys head back to the house to check if we have anything useful to bring to the fight. Ambrose and Prudence, you guys tell everyone to get themselves ready cause it’s all hands on deck from here. Me and Caliban will head back to hell’s library to see if there’s anything that could be of use to us. Then we can regroup back at the Spellman mortuary.”
“Sabrina don’t forget about dinner since I’ll be making my famous english supper. Maybe Caliban can tag along as well? If he doesn’t mind.” Aunt Hilda always likes to get the last word in.
“It would be a pleasure to join you all for dinner. I hope my presence doesn’t intrude on your plans.” Caliban said oozing out the charm there.
“Come on Caliban. We don’t want to keep everyone waiting on us. Bye aunties, Ambrose and Prudence. We’ll see all of you at the house!” As I motioned Caliban out of the office and made our way to the library. After we teleported to the library, I felt annoyed with Caliban for some reason.
“Princess, if you wanted to get me alone all you have to do is ask me.”
“Caliban you almost blew our cover. We can’t let the Aunties, Prudence or anyone else know that there’s something more between us.”
“My Queen, you’re overreacting. Your Aunt Hilda was just being nice and you did say that you needed all the help in order to defeat the pagans remember?”
Suddenly I felt him closing in the distance between us. His face was going in fairly close to mine and his arms were above me, holding me hostage that I couldn’t escape from.
He then whispered to my ear, “Besides my dear Queen, I can think of other ways to bide our time.”
I felt his left hand move down to my shoulder and had to close my eyes. I felt movement and as I opened my eyes, he was actually grabbing a book from behind me.
“This book might be of some use to us in defeating the pagans. I’m going to examine more of its contents and check back with you. Give me a yell if you find anything as well Princess.”
After that, Caliban cheekily smirked at me and walked back towards the table.
That cheeky jerk knew what he was doing. He just wanted to get a reaction out of me and my thoughts went straight to the gutter. Oh he is so gonna get some payback after this whole situation is done. Rustling away my plans that I have to get back at Caliban later, I need to focus on the task at hand.
Now, Robin said earlier that in order for the green man ritual to go through is that they need a virgin. But we can’t let them take any of my friends away so that’s not going to happen. Maybe if we had a decoy or something to use as bait then we’ll be able to foil their plans.
Caliban and I spent about an hour or so in the library, trying to absorb all the information that could be of help to them. Then suddenly, I was looking down at the time on my watch and told Caliban that we need to regroup back with everyone at the Spellman house. The flames were igniting around me and Caliban which then teleported us away back to my house. As Caliban and I were walking to the house, we saw Aunt Zelda burying something in the ground with a shovel.
I was walking up to Aunt Zee and asked her, “Aunt Zee what are you doing? Who is that?”
“Your Aunt Hilda here turned into a spider and ended up killing Dr. Cee and a random stranger who was visiting from out of town. She asked me to kill her but she’ll be able to resurrect back up again, don’t worry. Now let’s gather round back inside.”
Both Caliban and I then followed Aunt Zee back inside the house after she was finishing burying up Aunt Hilda. After we got inside, Aunt Zee asked us if we had found anything useful to help with the fight. But before we could answer her, there was a knock at the door.
“Sabrina, see you were worrying for nothing. That must be your Aunt Hilda right now at the door. Let me get the door first then continue with your explanation afterwards.” After Aunt Zee said that, she rushed to the door and opened it. Suddenly a huge bang can be heard throughout the house.
Caliban murmured, “somno mulier recedemus.”
There at the door was Mary Wardwell, who then fell face flat on the floor. I was so busy looking to see who it was that I didn’t realize something happened to Aunt Zee. I ran over to where Aunt Zee was and placed her on my lap. I’m trying to stop the bleeding because there's too much going on.
“Ambrose! Come quickly! Aunt Zee just got shot by Mary Wardwell. Caliban, come over here to help me stop the bleeding.”
I felt Caliban right beside me and took over holding the cloth, trying to provide pressure in hopes of stopping the bleeding.
“Ambrose she barely has a pulse.”
“Stay with her! I’ll gather reinforcements.” After Ambrose left, I tried to gather my thoughts.
“Aunt Zee, I’m not done driving you crazy yet. Please stay with me, just hold on. Help is coming.” Trying to get her to stay awake still.
Ambrose came back hurrying down the stairs with Mambo Marie and Prudence in tow.
“Cousin! I’ve brought reinforcements.”
“The bleeding won’t stop even after I applied pressure to it. Caliban had to take over for me cause I couldn’t gather my wits together. And her heartbeat is so faint”
“It’s gonna be alright. Mambo Marie said she can help.” Prudence put her hand on my shoulder to reassure me.
“I can try cheries. Where in this house can I operate?” “The basement! We can bring her down there.” Ambrose stammered.
I tried to get up to help everyone bring Aunt Zee down to the basement but someone’s hand stopped me from moving. I looked up and saw Caliban there.
“Caliban what are you doing? We need to get down there to help Aunt Zee.”
“Princess, you need to calm down. I’m sure Mambo Marie knows what she’s doing but I need to get you to relax. You’ve just been dealt with some heavy trauma right now. We’ll reconvene with them later. Now where should I take us to gather up your thoughts?” Caliban grabbed my hand and I took us over by the dining room so we’ll be able to sit down properly.
“Wait what happened to Mrs. Wardwell, Caliban? Wasn’t she at the front door earlier?”
“I was able to cast a spell put her to sleep and managed to tie her up so she won’t be able to move. She’s actually sleeping on the couch in your living room right now.” He pointed to the direction of the woman in question sleeping on my couch.
“Wait how were you able to do that? I’m so confused since I thought you aren’t able to cast any spells.” I looked at him defiantly. But him doing this is helping me calm down just a bit and provide a good distraction.
“Being the Prince of Hell does have its perks. I was feigning about not being able to cast spells but my Queen, I do have to apologize. This was before our alignment when we were still fighting each other for the Holy Regalia. My powers are seeded from the pits of hell and you know how I am made of clay. I was born from the pits and was able to grow forth my powers even more.” Caliban explained.
“I might consider your apology but you’re threading very carefully. May, I ask how old are you though?” Suddenly curious about his age and makes me wonder if I want to learn more about him.
“I was in a deep slumber for a long time until you came about Princess. I may be a few months old chronologically, but biologically I am 20. Just don’t tease me about my age.”
“Whatever you say Caliban. I also wanted to thank you for comforting me about what happened with Aunt Zee. And also taking care of Mrs. Wardwell for me.” I was looking down at my hands while I said that since I didn’t want to see his reaction.
Suddenly, his hand was on my chin and made me look up back at him.
“Remember the vows, I’ve spoken to you earlier? I promise to be patient, and to remember that all things between us are rooted in each other. And to realize your interests, desires & needs are no less important than my own. I promised to uphold these vows to you and be there in your time of need. I’m here to reaffirm those affirmations that we said to each other.”
While Caliban said that, his grip on my chin loosen and his hand went towards mine and clasped together with his. My blush went exactly tenfold on my face. Woah there mister hot stuff, stop trying to distract me. But on the hand, this feels extremely calming and maybe different than what I was used to.
“I appreciate you for being here for me. And doing all of this, I’m not sure how I’ll be able to repay for everything that you’ve done for me. But I do know that I want to get to know you better. Maybe we should continue this conversation after defeating the pagans and the third challenge is finished?”
“Anything you asked for my Queen, it shall be done. I think you looked more level headed now so we should probably head down and check what happened.”
Both Caliban and I stood up from our seats and made our descent towards the basement. Walking side by side together, our hands neared each other. Fingers meeting but barely within touching distance. We arrived in front of the basement and walked right inside. Candles were lit, Aunt Zee was on the table while Ambrose, Prudence and Madam Mambo were surrounding her.
“Ambrose what did we missed?” I questioned him as me and Caliban were within hearing distance from everyone.
“Mambo Marie was able to get the bullet out of her wound. But Aunt Zee still hasn’t awakened.”
“Is there anything more that we could do Mambo Marie?” Prudence asked.
“Zelda will need the greatest strength to be woken up. You three are not able to do that, possibly Caliban can but I’m not sure if he could. There is life here but she is lost between the land of the dead and the living. Her espirit has wandered down deep into the “in-between”, the Nether Realm of the Gede Lwa.” Mambo Marie explained to the young witches, warlock and demon prince.
“Wait so she’s basically in Limbo then?” I asked her.
“Different words but same meaning for the same place. And now we wait. We burn the violet candles. For that is the best way for Zelda to be leading back to us, here in this life.” Ambrose looked crushed and Prudence was silently comforting him. I felt Caliban’s hand near mine secretly, giving me comfort.
There was a loud screeching noise making the room alert. Mambo Marie shooed us away to go check what’s going on outside as she tended to Aunt Zelda.
Ambrose, Prudence, Caliban and I made our way up the stairs and headed straight to the front porch. There outside was a woman in a black outfit and wearing a black hat with a veil.
“What is that?” I wondered aloud staring at the figure in the distance.
“That dear Spellman, is a banshee. It’s a bad omen, meaning that someone will die soon in the Spellman family. Maybe more than one.” Prudence gravely announced to us.
“No, Prudence. I don’t care what she is. No one is dying in this house.” I nodded my head to Caliban to follow me back inside as we left Prudence and Ambrose outside.
Eventually everyone gathered towards the drawing room to come up with a plan. There was a sudden knock at the door and in came, Dorcas with Elsepth in tow. Prudence concerned about what happened with Dorcas moved feverently to her.
“Dorcas what happened? Why were you and Elsepth outside and why are you covered in blood?”
“It’s Faustaus and Agatha. Apparently, the Dark Lord and Faustaus were able to split apart from each other. But Faustaus was given the Mark of Cain and is with Agatha, plus a couple of pagans in search of an egg. They’re actually on their way to this house right now on the hunt for it. We don’t have much time before they get here.” Dorcas explained everything in a rush.
“Okay, everyone don’t panic. First we need to get everyone here into safety. Let’s head back downstairs to inform Mambo Marie and then teleport ourselves back to the academy.” I ordered everyone in a calm fashion.
We all rushed downstairs to Mambo Marie and Aunt Zee to explain the situation that was brought upon us. I told everyone to gather around and hold each other’s hands. Caliban’s hand gripped mine fiercely but in a determined way.
I heard the front door burst open from upstairs and heard Faustaus shouting,” kill every spellman, that you can find.”
“Lunuae Magicae!” I shouted as we teleported back to the academy. We arrived in the main corridor and everyone was still intact.
“Mambo Marie stay by Aunt Zee and make sure she’ll be safe. Now we need to gather everyone in the academy and put up protection spells around the perimeter.”
“Voce mea nunc.” I murmured.
“Attention warlocks and witches, now I need everyone to put up protection spells surrounding the academy. This is not a drill but please come back inside quickly and I’ll tell everyone the rest of the plan.”
I saw the rest of the students rushed outside and began to put up protection spells around the academy. I saw Caliban gave me his usual smirk impressed with my leadership. He had his arms folded in and leaned against the stairway. I walked over to his direction and my hands were placed on my hips.
“Now wonderboy. I have a question I’d like to ask you, how good are you at protection spells?”
“Princess, I admire your leadership. You know if you’d like to give me orders, I’d gladly follow them for something else.”
“Not now Caliban, now please answer my question.”
“I’m pretty good at making protection sigils. Would that please you my Queen?”
“Thank you. Now please let’s hurry before anything else starts to cause havoc around here.”
Everyone was finishing up casting the protection spells and heard someone shouted I got it. I looked over and saw Aunt Zelda was awake!
“Aunt Zee you’re finally awake! What happened?” I exclaimed to her.
“Sabrina dear, I finally have the answer that we’ve been waiting for. We’ll be able to get our powers back. Now where’s your Aunt Hilda? I was just with her a moment ago in the Nether Realm and I don’t see her here.”
Ambrose came in bursting to the hallway with Prudence right behind him. “Aunt Zee, you’re finally awake. Thank Satan for that and to answer your question, unfortunately Aunt Hilda did not make it.” Ambrose told her while Prudence wrapped her arm around him.
“What do you mean she did not make it? I was just with her a second ago and now she’s not here?!”
I placed my hand on top of Aunt Zee’s, “She didn’t rise back up from the Cain Pit Aunt Zee. She’s dead.”
“Nonsense. I’m gonna go bring her back alive myself if I have to. I’ll use what I’ve learned from the next life and dragged her back here.”
She continued on, “Now who’s with me on going back to the Spellman household to bring back our Sister Hilda from the dead!”
“Wait, Aunt Zee. Maybe one of us should astral project to see if the coast is clear back at home. Remember Faustaus, Agatha & their gang were on the hunt for us and that egg.” I told Aunt Zee, who was fiercely determined to bring back Aunt Hilda back. But we need to be cautious of everything.
“Sabrina, I volunteer. It shouldn’t take me that long but I’ll let you all know when everything is in the clear.” Prudence volunteered herself before I was able to say anything.
She does have a vendetta against her father and I know she has a bone or two to pick with him. So I’m pretty much okay with her taking this instead. Seeing as we have other pressing matters later.
While Ambrose and Prudence were busy checking out if our house is cleared. Everyone else was separated into small groups. Now that I think about it, I realised the fright club isn’t here or Nick. And Faustaus is probably on the hunt for them too. Before I decided to make my way over to them, I felt my hand being grabbed back. Low and behold, it’s Cal.
“Where are you running off to Princess? Might I, be of assistance in this quest you’ve partaken?”
“You’re never letting me out of your sight, are you?” I gave him a little smirk.
“If I said yes, I would be lying to myself. And you might need help on this little adventure, so I decided to tag along as well.”
“Oh alright Cal. Well, I’m very worried about my friends and I suspect that Faustaus and his gang are probably after them. Let’s just call it my gut intuition.”
“Then what are we waiting for, we should go. We should let everyone know that we have something to take care of and I like the nickname Princess.”
“Don’t get used to it. I’ll inform Ambrose and Prudence. I’ll ask Ambrose to let me know if the house is cleared then we’ll meet them over there. Let’s leave now before anything else happens.”
So both Caliban and I walked over to Prudence and Ambrose. I informed them about needing to check on the gang before they get fried from Faustaus and company. And Ambrose to text me if the house is cleared. Then Caliban’s flames ignited around us and we promptly arrived at Harvey’s garage.
“Sabrina, what are you doing here? Shouldn’t you be competing for the final regalia?” Nick questioned me with hidden anger in his voice.
“Wait what is Caliban doing here?” Harvey said behind Nick.
Before I could utter a word, Caliban interrupted me.
“We’re not competing yet for the final regalia due to some unexpected circumstances that appeared. Also we came to save your sorry asses since in a few minutes, Faustaus and his gang are out to hunt you guys. So thank us for being here.”
“As I was about to say that before Caliban here interrupted me. We all need to go now before they get here. I just got a text from Ambrose that the house is clear. So, we should head over there now before it’s too late.”
Since everyone has agreed to the plan, we all gathered around in a circle. Caliban’s flames engulfed around us as we slowly teleported off to the Spellman house. Right in time because eventually, Faustaus and his gang arrived at the scene.
“Those mangey brats aren’t here.” Faustaus exclaimed in frustration.

Caliban’s flames disappeared quickly and we finally arrived back at the house. Everyone was gathered by the Cain Pit. The guys decided to stand by and sit at the side as Aunt Zee wanted all the women to gather around by her. The hedge witches, Roz, Prudence, Dorcas, Elsepth, and the rest of the Academy girls and I were all holding hands. While Aunt Zelda was by Aunt Hilda’s grave and began to chant her spell.
“It is said that whenever you call on The Triple Goddess, she comes to you. As much as I ignored her, put my faith in lesser gods, signed my name in other books, she still came to me when I needed her most. When I wandered, lost in the Nether Realm, it was she who led me back to the material world. We call you, Hecate. We call you on now, Maiden, in your unbounded potential. We call on you, Divine Mother, in all your divine power. We call on you, Crone, in your arcane wisdom. We are descended from all maidens, mothers, and crones. And so, when we call on the three-in-one, we call on all witches stretching back from the beginning of time to the end of days. We call on… ourselves, the powers that have been denied to us. Imbue us with them, Hecate, and we shall pray to you morning, noon and night. And we shall live to honor the thy three faces, thy three forms.”
Aunt Zee continued as she kneeled on the ground, “Dark Mother, the keeper of the key to the door between worlds, we… summon thee. Return our Sister Hilda, to the realm of the living, and we will never forget you again!”
I opened my eyes and felt the wind all around me. Thunder came bursting through the clouds, and we waited with bated breath to see if Hecate would answer our calling. Then the wind subsided.
“Hilda?” Aunt Zelda asked, wondering where she was.
“Hildy are you there?” Then Aunt Zee went down on her knees stumped. Ambrose was trembling in tears and I felt droplets filling up in my eyes. This should have worked so why wasn’t this working at all?
Then all of a sudden, Aunt Hilda’s hand popped out from the ground. Aunt Zee grabbed her hand and pulled her out from the ground.
“So, what have I missed?” Aunt Hilda asked everyone.
“A lot, Aunt Hilda. The pagans still need to be stopped.” I answered her.
“Bloody pagans. What trouble are they causing now?”
We told her that in order for the pagans to be stopped, we need to get rid of the green man ritual. How they’re planning to use the green man’s seed and put them inside the caramel apples to everyone in town. Aunt Hilda suggested a lullaby to sing so everyone in town will go to sleep and not go to the carnival.
Aunt Hilda, Prudence, Aunt Zelda and Ambrose were casting the lullaby back at the house. Caliban and I decided to put glamours on ourselves to trick the pagans. I glamoured as Robin, while Caliban glamoured as Mrs. Wardwell since they needed a virgin for the ritual.
As I brought fake “Mrs. Wardwell” to the carnival, Caliban had to say something to me.
“Princess, easy on the manhandling. You have precious cargo here.”
“Stick with the plan Cal. We just need to get through them and then we can finally attack.” I shushed him as I presented Mrs. Wardwell to the pagans. The pagans were convinced that “Robin” didn’t betray them.
Now the pagans were gathered by the Green Man and started to worship and pray for him.
“Mrs. Wardwell” was trapped inside in the middle of the big plant man structure. Mrs. Wardwell was yelling at them to stop. The branches & vines around the Green Man began to wrap around the arms of “Mrs. Warwell” and the branches/vines started to break. The pagans thinking they had victory rejoiced until suddenly the Green Man started to deteriorate. Flames started to spread all over the structure and began to burn. And low and behold, revealed to be Caliban with a smirk on his face. The pagans were shocked by these turn of events.
“Who did you bring us Robin?” Nagaina exclaimed.
“That’s Caliban, Prince of Hell. He’s born from the pits and has pretty good flames. So your structure didn’t last that long.” As I revealed myself from this Robin glamour to the pagans.
“You and your devilment. What have you done?” Carcosa yelled in frustration.
* Remember earlier, Caliban was able to subdue Mrs. Wardwell and I made her forget that the Spellmans were witches.*
“I destroyed your lame little plant god. Now I think it’s time for you and your carnival to leave Greendale.” Everyone was gathered behind me, prepared for battle. The pagans began to run for their lives.
“Coven, do not stop until every last pagan is driven from our home.” Aunt Zelda commanded everyone.
*Everyone was defeated. Fight was finished.*
Back at the Spellman household all was well.
“And so Greendale was saved once again.” Ambrose said with a toast in hand.
“And tomorrow morning, the town will wake up nice and rested.” Aunt Hilda added.
“And none the wiser sister.” Aunt Zelda agreed with her.
“Thank you Sabrina. When the coven and your family needed you most, you were there.” Aunt Zee said to me.
“It was nothing, Aunt Zee. It was never a question.” I told her truthfully.
“I suppose you’ll be running back to Hell to finish the third and final challenge, Cousin?” Ambrose asked me with curiosity.
“Yes, I still need to go back down there to handle some unfinished business. Before I go, I need to have a chat with you Ambrose. Aunties, I’ll see you guys soon. Don’t worry I’ll be back for dinner tomorrow.” I gave a wave to both Aunt Zee and Aunt Hilda as I motioned my head for Ambrose to follow me back to the other room.
When we were finally out of hearing distance from the Aunties, Ambrose looked at me with concerned eyes.
“Cousin, is there something you’re not telling me?”
“Please keep my secret about me and Caliban until we finally tell everyone. Also I want you to bring the Aunties, Dr. Cee, the Fright Club, Nick, Prudence, Dorcas and Dorian for my coronation. Since I need all the support I can get after the challenge is done.” “Don’t worry cousin, your secret is safe with me and I’ll make sure to bring everyone to your coronation.”
“Thanks Ambrose! I’ll send you a text after everything has been dealt with. Surprisingly, they have Wifi down in Hell. Who would have thought that it would be there? But I got to run!” I gave Ambrose a hug then teleported down to Hell.
I appeared in a somewhat familiar room and when I opened my eyes, I saw Caliban on his bed reading a book. He glanced up from his book and gave me his cheeky jerk of a smile.
“Welcome back Princess. Shall we discuss the plan on how we should work together for the final challenge?”
I walked over to him and sat on the right side of his bed.
“Well, we should still keep up with pretenses and make everyone think that we still hate each other.”
Caliban added, “I’ll give you a tell which is me messing with my ring. That means we should meet up after we have met up with our respective teams.”
“Okay, but where should we meet?”
“We can meet back at the library and then proceed with getting Judas’ pieces of silver afterwards.”
“Sounds like a good plan. I should probably leave your room before anyone spots me.” As I was about to get out of his bed, he pulled my arm back down towards him. And suddenly Caliban’s right on top of me.
“Caliban stop distracting me. I need to go before anyone else wants to head to your room.” I said as I was trying to get out of his grip.
“Before you leave, I wanted to give a token of my appreciation towards you. Until we reunite, later on again.” After he said that, his face slowly met mine. I closed my eyes since I was so nervous and wasn’t sure what he was planning. I felt his lips traced mine but eventually his mouth moved towards my forehead.
‘I honestly thought we were gonna have a makeout session over here. Bad Sabrina, get your mind out of the gutter.’ Slightly frustrated at myself and I finally opened my eyes while Caliban was smirking at me, probably knew what I was thinking about.
“Don’t worry my Queen, be patient. Now let’s get you out of here undetected before someone barges in on us.” Caliban said while he got off from the bed and helped me get down. We walked together towards his door and he gave a kiss on my hand.
Checking the hallway to see if the coast is clear, I silently left Caliban’s room.
_____________________________________________________________________
*A few hours later*
Everyone was gathered in the infernal court as Daddy dearest here, was announcing his speech.
“My lords and ladies of Disrule, rejoice. For I am returned. Kneel before me, and let’s get back to business.” The Dark Lord proclaimed.
“Kneel before you? Weren’t you dethroned and imprisoned by your own witches?” Purson challenged him back.
The Dark Lord snapped his neck and killed him. Everyone gasped in shock at what happened.
“Any more questions?” The Dark Lord asked everyone in the crowd.
Suddenly, Caliban stepped forward and said, “Lord Morningstar?”
Lilith rolled her eyes, “Oh this should be good.” “Yes, and you are?” Lucifer questioned the man in front of him.
“Caliban, Prince of Hell.”
“How can you be Prince of Hell when I, who am Hell itself, know nothing of you?”
Beezlebub piped into their conversation, “Respectfully, my lord Lucifer, we are in the middle of a quest for the three objects of the Unholy Regalia.”
“Yes, I am quite aware, Beezlebub.”
“Infernal protocol must be followed. The contest must be seen to the end. Caliban and Sabrina have each found one item. Whoever finds the third, Judas Iscariot’s 30 pieces of silver, will sit upon the throne of Hell. And not even you can interfere with that quest.”
“Where, then, is my daughter?”
“She’ll turn up. She usually does.” Lilith mentioned this to Lucifer.
________________________________________________________
“I am ready to start the last challenge of the Unholy Regalia.” I announced loudly for all to hear.
“Sabrina, you must secure Judas Iscariot’s 30 pieces of silver and reclaim victory for the House of Morningstar.” Lucifer said to me.
I saw Caliban conferring with the three kings as me, Lilith and Lucifer were also in our own little corner.
“That Prince of Clay will never find Judas’ silver.” He whispered to both Lilith and I. I gave a backwards glance at Caliban and saw he was giving his tell, which is fiddling with his ring. I gave him a look to let him know we’ll meet soon. Not letting Lucifer or Lilith raise them of suspicion, I continued on listening.
“What makes you so sure?” I questioned Lucifer.
“Because Judas himself was the only person who knows where it is. And I am the one person who can take you to Judas.”
“Careful, Dark Lord. Sabrina must complete this task on her own. Any help from you in front of the Kings of Hell, and the challenge could be deemed a forfeit.” Lilith warned Lucifer on if he helped me with the challenge.
Beezlebub walked towards the middle of the room and announced, “Let the final challenge for the coins of the great betrayer, Judas Iscariot, begin!”
I saw Caliban walked out of the room and was heading towards the library. But before I could leave, Lucifer sent me a telepathic message.
‘Go to the Ninth Circle, the hottest in Hell. There, in a volcanic cave, embedded in the walls, you will find the three worst betrayals in history, Cassius, Brutus and Judas Iscariot.’ I gave Lucifer a nod and left the main room of Pandemonium.
I continued walking far away from everyone until the hallways looked cleared and sneaked over towards the library. There I saw Caliban sitting at our table where we were researching for the Pygmalion Spell. Caliban looked up from the book he was reading and gave me a smile. Man, every time this guy smiles it makes me melt. But I don’t want to get ahead of ourselves with my feelings here.
“Well, hello there Princess. What took you so long?” Caliban said to me right off the bat.
“I was checking to see if anyone was in the hallways and making sure no one spotted me coming down over here. Take a chill pill, Caliban.” I told him as I rolled my eyes at him.
“Woah, easy there Princess. Let’s not argue please. Now we don’t have much time but what can you tell me about the location of where Judas Iscariot might be located.” Caliban crossed his arms and looked at me in a serious way.
“According to the Dark Lord, we have to go to the Ninth Circle, the hottest in Hell. There’s a volcanic cave and there we’ll find the three worst betrayers. From there we’ll be able to find Judas Iscariot.”
“That sounds pretty vague from him Princess. But I’m sure we’ll be able to find him.”
“Let’s go now before we get caught by anyone.” I said to him as I waited for him to get up from his seat. We then quickly teleported ourselves to the Ninth Circle. The cave was spooky and pretty dark. I produced a light of blue fire to guide us the way to where Judas Iscariot might be hiding. While Caliban and I were walking, apparently I wasn’t watching where I was going and I almost fell. Then I felt 2 strong arms reach for my waist and helped me back up. Caliban had his hands on my shoulders and looked at me to see if I had any minor injuries at all.
“Cal, I’m okay. I’m fine, I just wasn’t watching where I was going. I’m not hurt at all.” I grabbed his hand and gave it a squeeze , letting him know that I was alright.
“You gave me a fright and luckily I was right behind you or something terrible would have happened. But I’m glad that you’re alright, my Queen. I’m not letting you out of my sight so we’re going to be holding hands for awhile.” As he said this, he immediately grabbed my hand and gave me his devilish grin again.
“Fine, whatever you say. Let’s continue on with the challenge please.” I gave him a huff but my heart was palpitating so fast on what just occurred. Every time Caliban does something for me, I feel something stirring inside me. But I need to focus if I want to win this.
Eventually me and Caliban finally reached the location on where Judas was located. I told Caliban to stay behind me since I’m thinking something might happened. I walked to where the stoned face of Judas was at.
“Judas Iscariot.” I announced it to him.
“Who is that?” He whispered slowly to me.
“I am Sabrina Morningstar, daughter of Lucifer Morningstar.”
[Judas coughs]
“He himself put me here.” Judas explained to us.
“I’ve come to ask you, Judas, where are the 30 pieces of silver you were paid to betray the Nazarene?”
“What will you give me to tell you the secret of their location?” Of course there would be a catch with this guy. Not making my job any easier at all.
I turned the flame into a circle of fresh water.
“Water. The taste of cold water on your lips. What say you, Judas? Tell me how to get the pieces of silver, and it’s yours.” Hopefully this will convince him to tell me their location.
“There is an easy way, in which the silver simply appears to you. And a harder way, in which you must seek it out.”
“For once, let’s go with what’s easy.”
“All you need to do is betray someone you love with a kiss, as I did.” Yeah not sure, if that’s gonna happen buddy.
I gave him a huge sigh. “Just one kiss and the silver appears to me?”
“Yes.”
“I’ll be right back.” I told Judas.
I turned around and motioned for Caliban to follow me out of the cave section. Once we were out of hearing distance from Judas, I can finally take a breath of air. Caliban was in his usual stance and had his arms firmly crossed over his chest.
“I’m not sure if I want to go the easy way Cal. I think I should go the harder way, what do you think?”
“I think the harder way should work. And we’ll be in this together, it shouldn’t be that complicated right. The sooner we get the coins, the closer we are to the throne.”
“I like the way you think. Okay, we should go back before we lose any more time on this.” As we were walking back to the cave, I felt Caliban’s hand clasped into mine and he gave me a hand kiss. Ohhhhh Mr. Romantic over here. I stood back at my position in front of Judas’ headstone.
“Well, that didn’t work. So tell me, Judas.. What’s the hard way?” I questioned him.
“Are you familiar with the Field of Blood?”
“Just that it’s a burial ground.” I think.
“My silver is buried in a crypt with the first vampire, deep beneath the Field of Blood.” Judas explained.
“Okay, if you tell me I’m about to meet Dracula --” I heard Caliban snickering at me in the background.
Judas answered, “His name is Vlad the Impaler.”
“Vlad the Impaler? But he’s.. He’s dead right? ” I told him confused.
“Yes. The pieces are in a bag at his side. Count them to be sure that they’re all there.” “Copy. How do I get to his tomb?” Hopefully it won’t be that complicated to get there.
“You open a portal. I can tell you the words, but first.. Give me my water.”
I gave Judas’ his water and in turn he told me the directions on how to get to Vlad the Impaler’s crypt. After getting the directions, both me and Caliban went to the tomb to find Vlad. The tomb was abandoned and there were candles that were lit on top of it. Caliban told me, he was gonna check out the perimeter in case something happened. I told him we should meet back at the entrance after I got the bag of silver. I grabbed the bag of silver from the skeleton’s hands and put it away for safekeeping. I then walked away from the tomb and began to count the pieces of silver.
I was too busy counting the coins, that I did not realize that something was after me. Unbeknownst to me, Caliban was walking back to the main entrance and saw that Vlad the Impaler was about to attack me. Caliban set Vlad the Impaler on fire and gave a huge shout. I turned around and saw that Caliban took care of Vlad and was indisposed of.
“Next time, watch your surroundings here Princess.”
“At least I have you by my side. Thank you again for saving me and now we should head on back to the headstones.”
“As you wish, my Queen. Let’s hurry!”
Caliban and I both left the tomb and teleported our way back to where Judas & the betrayers headstones were at. Gave him the okay that we got the coins and immediately headed back to Pandemonium. Before we went through the doors, I told Caliban to put on a glamour so no one would recognize him. He went ahead first so he could blend into the crowd.
I opened the doors and walked to the main floor of Pandemonium.
“The challenge has been won. The final item of the Unholy Regalia is mine.” I announced loudly to everyone in the vicinity. The entire audience gasped in shock at what had occurred.
“And Prince Caliban is stone-cold dead.” Even though he’s hiding in a glamour, jk to everyone else.
“Congratulations, daughter. You bring honor to your house. It is time, once again, for your coronation. Are you at last ready?” The Dark Lord asked of me.
“I am ready, Father, to be married to Hell.” I gave him a fake smile.

Hell Is Hot CH 4- Dorian’s Grey Room Angst
#hell is hot tag brings up all chapters on my page! @elizaglad @kanakalala458 @queenhumanoid @lachicademarcasrojas Thank you guys for all the support on the story! Sorry for the delay on the chapter! This story is crossposted on my AO3 my name their is sunhoney_fandoms
At Dorian’s I got a drink and sat on a small couch tucked in the corner while I waited for Caliban. All of a sudden I saw Nick sneaking in, head hanging, he already looked drunk. He walked over to Dorian and grabbed a drink. After he began to survey the crowd, I tried hard not to make eye contact with him but when I looked up he was staring at me. He walked over to me.
“Hey Spellman.” He said with a raspy low voice.
“Hey Nick.” I replied with an awkward smile.
“How are you? I mean what are you doing here?” He spoke like he couldn’t talk.
“I’m uh—“ I said trailing off.
“Waiting for me?” Caliban said from behind me.
“Caliban! You have to stop doing that.” I said almost spilling my drink on me.
“Oh what would you do to make me stop?” He said in a flirtatious tone.
Nick scoffs hard in disgust. I say nothing looking back and forth between them.
“I can’t believe you’d bring him here. What’s he helping you with this time?” Nick said in a mocking tone. “Maybe I was wrong, maybe you weren't saving yourself for Kinkle.” He spat.
“Nick! That’s not fair! You have no idea what’s going on!” I said harshly trying not to draw attention to us.
“Maybe we should tell your little heartbroken warlock what we’re here for.” Caliban says smugly.
“Caliban please--”
“What did you say Prince of Dirt? Nick spat.
“Enough! Nick, you're drunk we'll talk about this when you're sober. Caliban, sit down!” I said definitely.
Before Nick could speak Dorian walks over and addresses Nick in a half whisper.
“Your room is available.” He looks over at me before walking away.
Nick says nothing, just looks at me with sad eyes before walking away.
*Back at the Spellman house*
*Whoosh*
“Prudence?” Ambrose says concerned, noticing the look on her face. “What is it? What’s the matter?” He says walking closer to her.
“We uh-- We found Dorcas butchered in a cupboard at the academy Ambrose, by Agatha’s hand no doubt.” Prudence says with a tearful voice.
“Oh, oh no.” Ambrose says worried.
“You know, I can't help but to think that if I’d killed Blackwood in Scotland when I had the chance, all of this calamity could've been avoided.” Prudence tearfully speaks while Ambrose says nothing. She regains composure of herself. “But you wouldn't let me, would you?.” She growls.
“I’m-I’m so sorry.” Ambrose finally speaks trying to get closer to her.
Prudence backs away. “As am I.” *Whoosh* She was gone.
Later, Ambrose, Zelda and Hilda sit at the kitchen table trying to figure out what to have for dinner.
“Ooooo, I can make everyone’s favorites and a pie for dessert?” She says cheerfully, hoping to set the tone for the remaining evening.
“Thank you, auntie but i’m not really hungry.” Ambrose says forlorn looking down at the table.
“What’s the point? Dinner won't be the same without sabrina.” Zelda says letting smoke out of her lungs.
“Oh, Zeld’s it's just for a night, she said she’d be back for dinner every night with her little fellow.” Hilda says trying to keep the mood up.
“Oh for pete's sake Hilda she can't possibly know what kind of hellish responsibilities are to come, we may never see her again.” Zelda says loud and clearly upset. She looks around for a moment before speaking again, this time softer but still with much distaste in her voice. “And if we do see her again she’ll be bringing the clay spawn with her. I do not like change, sister. I see nothing good coming from this.”
No one says anything. Zelda gets up to go have a drink in the living room.
“I'm going to head to the academy library.” Ambrose says, knocking back his drink before getting up and walking away.
Hilda grabs some lemon cookies and tea, sitting alone, she thinks about how she should go say her goodbyes to Dr Cee in the mortuary. Tears begin to brim her eyes as she heads downstairs to find Dr Cee sitting up.
“Dr Cee?” Hilda’s voice cracks.
“Oh, hi my love.” Dr Cee says rubbing his temple.
“I thought I killed you, beloved.” Hilda stutters. “I must have been saving you to eat later.” She says giggling through her tears.
“I sure hope so.” He says smiling and gripping her into an embrace.
“Shall we go clean up the store? I did quite the number on it. Then maybe we can resume watching scary movies, love?” Hilda says finally wiping the tears away from her eyes.
“How about we go out for a nice dinner and movie? We can clean tomorrow Hilda, I just want to spend time with you. I am so happy you're back.” Dr Cee says rubbing Hilda’s hand.
Upstairs Zelda is in the living room thinking to herself. “Maybe I am just a loveless hag like everyone thinks. How anyone could deal with the heartbreak of being in love over and over again I will never understand.” She rubs her temples then takes a sip of her drink.
“Long day, ma cherie?” Mambo Marie says entering the living room. “I hope I am not interrupting.” She says taking a seat in the chair next adjacent to Zelda.
“Oh mambo, no, please come sit.” Zelda says getting up to pour Mambo Marie a drink. Zelda hands her the drink and sits back down.
Mambo Marie chuckles. “Thank you Zelda for your hospitality.”
“I know I was a little abrasive when you first arrived, I apologize. I think I may need you now more than ever.” Zelda admits.
“Zelda there’s an even darker force on the horizon I fear, a sense of sa ki mal lingers in the air. We must harness your covens maternal pouvwa for protection and prepare them for war.” Mambo says strong and carefully.
Zelda leans closer to Mambo. “Am I to take it that means you’ll be staying on?”
Mambo Marie smirks and leans closer to Zelda. “Only if I am welcome, ma Cherie”
Zelda smiles softly and pulls Mambo into a longing kiss.
*Back at Dorian’s*
Sabrina slumps down defeated.
“Why didn’t you tell him of the alignment?” Caliban questions.
“He’s not in the right headspace to hear that and I’m not sure I’m ready to tell him.” Sabrina speaks softly not making eye contact.
“Ah so you still love him?” Caliban says trying not to sound upset.
“I don’t love him anymore, I care for him and remember the love we once had.” Sabrina says positively.
“Why let the warlock get to you when you're going to have everything you want?” Caliban says smirking.
Sabrina rolls her eyes. “Why are you so smug about everything?”
“My queen, it’s called confidence.” He says lifting my face up to look at him. “You should always have pride in yourself and your domain, even if you have a soft spot for your mortal realm.” Caliban says leaning down pressing his lips against mine, softly. I was unsure of the kiss at first, everything seemed to be moving so fast but it felt so right. I brought my hand up and caressed his neck, sinking further into the kiss. I pull away from the kiss with hot cheeks and tingly lips. I feel so strong but so intimidated beneath his gaze. “We have to discuss tomorrow, Caliban. I need you to do me a favor.”
“What could I do for, my love?” Caliban said, smiling down at me.
“I know the Kings are getting impatient and are trying to call the third challenge in, but I want to spend my final normal day in the mortal realm. Can you please hold them off till tomorrow evening?”
“Of course, that will be easy.” He says continuing to listen.
“Now remember I want to completely blindside everyone tomorrow night, so we will continue to act like we are fighting against each other for the third regalia. When I go to claim the throne I will announce our alignment.”
He nods his head in agreement.
I lean back relaxing for a moment and drinking my drink. He leans back as well , staring at me.
I look up at him “Thank you for being there today. You really helped out.”
“We are an alliance now, Morningstar. That’s what Kings are for.” He said smirking at me.
I smiled at him
Ambrose walking the halls to the library.
“Nick? Are you alright, you look terrible?” Ambrose says approaching nick.
Nick scoffs “Gee thanks Ambrose I appreciate that.”
“I thought you were doing better, mate. What’s going on?” Ambrose says sitting down next to him in the hall.
Nick sighs. “I don’t know how to get back to normal and now to make it worse Sabrina’s already moved on with that dirt ball from hell.” Nick cries.
“Ah so Sabrina told you of the alignment I see? Listen Nick—
Nick interrupts looking up at Ambrose with tear filled eyes “Alignment? Wait what alignment?”
Ambrose then realized that Nick had no idea of the alignment and Ambrose fucked up. “Nick, mate, listen I know a great witch her name is Minerva she helped me when I was losing it for a bit while on house arrest. I’ll put you in contact with her.”
“Ambrose tell me about this damn alignment? I don’t need help, I need to know about this alignment?”
“I’ll tell you about the alignment as long as I can make you an appointment with Minerva.”
Nick looks down defeated. “Deal”
“Now my cousin is gonna kill me for saying anything, but she has agreed to marry Caliban to rule hell as queen and king to ensure her place on the throne and in the mortal realm.”
“She what?” Nicks voice cracks. “How could she? We’ve barely broken up. I shouldn't have ever broken up with her, now she’s gone forever.” Nick sobs. Ambrose holds nick.
“Listen Nick, Prudence was right, what you guys had was toxic but you don’t need to lose Sabrina forever. You two can remain friends after both of you take some much needed time apart.”
Nick says nothing and they stay there a while before Ambrose offers to walk Nick to his bedroom to make sure he makes it there okay.
“I’ll see you tomorrow, okay Nick?” Nick just nods his head in agreement
*Back at Dorian’s*
“I should be getting home, I have school in the morning.” I say standing up.
“Do you want me to take you there?” Caliban also says standing up and closing the gap between us.
I smirk at him. “No, Caliban my powers are back I’ll be fine.”
“I’ll see you tomorrow, my queen.”
I smirk at him and walk away. Back at home I quickly get undressed and sink into my bed, what a day.

i published this on A03 a couple months back but haven’t had any motivation to continue it. i’m hoping some MS shippers can give me some ideas so i can give this story rhenchapters it deserves :)
‘Hilda I can’t stay here’ the ginger witch whispered loudly down the phone
‘Zelda you haven’t got a choice everyone has to self-isolate; you’re going to have to keep each other company until it ends’
‘Hilda, I swear to Satan himself, I’m not staying here with a woman I barely know’ Zelda gritted her teeth
‘Miss Wardwell’s lovely Zelda, who knows you might make a friend’ Hilda giggled cheerily as Zelda rolled her eyes inhaling the cigarette sharply.
‘we’ll all be back together soon, enjoy the peace and quiet Zeld’s’
‘hm that is true’ Zelda shrugged thinking of the long baths she could take, something she was unable to do with Sabrina and Ambrose at home.
‘anyway, Zelda I have to go Dr Cee is making dinner tonight’ she giggled naughtily
‘fabulous’ her eyes rolled once more as she hung up angrily.
Zelda wandered into the living area spotting a small brunette perched in an armchair
‘836 in just one day that’s horrific’ Mary exclaimed catching eyes with the ginger beauty for a slight second
‘It is; indeed, I hope the numbers lower in the next few days’ Zelda sat across from the small woman
‘they said it’s going to be at least a month before the numbers reduce dramatically’ Mary twiddled her thumbs awkwardly knowing Zelda’s unknown dislike for her
‘look I know I’m not your favourite person for some reason, I’m unsure to why but I’d much rather be at home myself which I can’t because it’s not there-’ she sniffled sobbing quietly
‘hey’ Zelda moved across to the woman her blue eyes glimmered as she looked up
‘I don’t dislike you, I just- I- don’t really know you and it’s just a little awkward that’s all. Especially because no one is here anymore and it’s just us’ Zelda rubbed her back comfortingly
‘I understand that’ she sniffled ‘but I’m so grateful you opened up your home to me this past week- after the fire and everything my head’s just been all over the place-’
‘you don’t even have to explain yourself Mary, what happened must have been awful- I can’t even begin to imagine but your welcome here as long as you want’ Zelda smiled
‘let me make dinner? As a thank you for everything you’ve done for me, it’s the least I can do’ she smiled
‘if you insist, since Hilda isn’t here you might have to become her temp as I’m a dreadful cook’ she chuckled as Mary laughed
‘here’ Zelda handed her a tissue watching the women as she removed her glasses to dab her eyes. How had Zelda not noticed how striking this woman was before, quiet but attractive in a usual way.
‘I miss Sabrina and Ambrose already’ Zelda sighed, Mary handing her the tissue she used causing both women to laugh
‘young love at its finest, they’ll both be fine, I’m sure they’re missing you too’ Mary nodded
‘what do you say I start cooking and you enjoy a nice bath, I’m fed up of lounging. I never thought that sentence would ever come out of my mouth’ the small woman widened her eyes as Zelda giggled
‘no, you’re right, I’ll pick out my best outfit, it’s a date’ Zelda winked before walking upstairs
Mary’s mouth hung open at the thought of going on a date with Zelda, she quickly shook her head before heading off to the kitchen.
-
She had cooked her favourite recipe Italian chicken, wiping her flour covered hands onto the blue apron covered in sparkles, a small chuckle leaving her breath. She carefully hung it back onto the rack before making her way upstairs to get changed.
Her breath stopped momentarily as a pale shadow wrapped in nothing, but a small lilac towel walked in front of her turning into a rear room. Her ginger waves we clipped delicately up a few curls stuck to her, warm…damp…neck.
Mary felt a warm blush spread across her cheeks, seeing Zelda that bare resulted in her being stood still unable to erase the image from her mind, which she wasn’t mad about.
As soon as she could feel her legs Mary ran into her room, shutting the door heavily her back hitting the hard wood instantly.
Mary Wardwell wasn’t a sexual person. She hadn’t made it to 47 unscathed of course not, however her inability to develop a sexual relationship with someone in the first 20 years of her life, resulted in her avoiding the matter at all cost. Feeling like something one would experience early on in their life made her feel utterly outcasted it hadn’t happened to her.
Did she have to opportunity? Of course, what woman hasn’t, but the want was never there. Something about seeing Zelda so exposed sparked something inside of her, something she couldn’t understand, why now?
Pull yourself together. she mentally cursed shaking her head before entering the on suite.
-
Zelda curled her hair softly, looking at her reflection in the mirror. She never expected out of all people she’d be self-isolating with one of Sabrina’s mortal teachers. When the news was out that people had to stay at home, she was quickly ditched by everyone, not to any fault of theirs, they were happy. She just wasn’t used to being the one left alone. Sabrina was staying at Nicks; Hilda was staying with Dr Cerberus and Ambrose was staying with Luke.
She didn’t mind her own company she just felt odd being completely alone with a stranger, after her short-term marriage to Faustus she wasn’t the same women she once was, she was incredibly broken even though she didn’t want to admit it.
Zelda slipped into an emerald green blouse that tied around her neck loosely and exposed the mould of her breast completely, she paired it with a long black pencil skirt and her usual go to heels.
Was she overdressed? Maybe but when wasn’t Zelda Spellman overdressed?
She needed to feel a slight bit of normality even if things were far from normal.
-
The red headed woman descended down the staircase as she was hit with the hellish smell of a homecooked meal, Zelda made her way into the kitchen where she saw the brunette woman peering inside the oven, Zelda’s eyes wandered to the curves she had never laid her eyes on before
‘Zelda?’ the small woman smiled as Zelda was snapped out of her thoughts
Zelda’s lips parted at the woman who looked entirely unholy, Mary’s hair waved across her shoulders just curling underneath her shoulders. The woman whose glasses were nowhere to be seen smiled brightly once more at the ginger before her
‘are you okay?’ she questioned as Zelda nodded still drawn to the natural beauty Mary possessed never seeing her outside of her ‘workwear’
‘you look beautiful Mary’ Zelda looked her up and down once more before taking a seat
‘as do you- I uh you always do’ she chuckled a slight blush appearing on Zelda’s cheeks
‘I hope you like chicken’ Mary laughed pulling the stuffed chicken out of the oven
‘oh i- I’m vegetarian’ Zelda spoke quietly
‘shit’ Zelda’s eyes widened at the swearing of the educated woman
‘I knew I should have asked’ she held her head in her hands
‘Mary’ Zelda walked next to her trying not to smile
‘yes?’ Mary sighed avoiding eye contact with the woman before her
‘I’m just fucking with you, who doesn’t like chicken?’ she laughed as Mary’s mouth hung open
‘you nearly gave me a heart attack’ she held her chest before whacking Zelda lightly with the towel she held in her hand
‘you did not just hit me’ she stared at Mary her eyes wide
‘you deserved it-’ Mary was cut off by Zelda hitting her back with a towel she quickly grabbed
‘you’re going to regret that Spellman’ she looked at the attractive ginger who didn’t think twice before running
‘ahh Mary no, please’ she laughed the small brunette ran behind her chasing her around the full downstairs of the Spellman mansion, they had entered the kitchen again Zelda still in front of Mary.
Zelda came to a holt noticing Mary was nowhere to be seen, she retraced her footprints before turning her back to the supply cupboard. A lime green towel snaked around her waist pulling her into it, as she felt her back hit the wall harshly
Zelda’s hair had loosely fell framing her face softly, she breathed heavy as the woman before her was inches away from her
‘you should know better than trying to fight fire with fire, Zelda’ the bright blue eyes stared intensely at her, darker than before
Zelda felt the woman tuck a strand of hair behind her ear, both their chests rising against each other, before being pulled out of their intense encounter by a loud beeping coming from outside the kitchen
‘that’s the potatoes’ Mary whispered as Zelda nodded slowly
Mary eventually removed her arm from around the slim ginger before exiting the small room leaving a breathless Zelda, a small smile graced her lips before she shook her head abruptly
No, what was she doing?

Oh my God, I’ve just realised something. Or rather consciously realised something. You know how Lilith is the tarot reader, Mrs McGarvey? And she reads everyone’s cards? Which means Lilith can, unsurprisingly, read tarot cards.
But....IT MEANS SHE CAN READ TAROT CARDS.
Yes, I’m just stating the obvious and repeating myself, but this is what I just consciously realised; if she could read the cards for them all then as Mrs McG, there’s nothing to stop her reading cards for people as herself. Which means in a post-part 4 world where everyone is resurrected and bonding, she could read cards for the coven. Like just imagine the image of that; it’s both adorable and mystical.
And we know Hell is really dismissive of purely witchy things, they dismiss witches as being ‘just witches’ and it’s even one of the arguments against Lilith’s right to rule (and is probably why she really pushed the title of Mother of Demons, as well as demoness and Madam Satan), so was her tarot reading dismissed there and unwanted?
And when I did the episode analysis of that whole thing, I’ve said how despite claiming she was ‘gaining information as a weapon’, she basically gives them all really good advice, and actually, possibly subconsciously, tries to help them. Her message to Theo that he doesn’t need to fit everyone else’s expectations to be a boy, that you are who are, was particularly poignant in its lack of manipulation or ulterior motive. I mean she has fun spooking them all (This is Lilith after all and she has a naughty sense of fun at the best of times) but she does also have genuine messages for them and gives genuine readings.
And I love the added factor of how she uses her powers to make the reading come alive around them in a vision. As she says herself they’re not literal, they’re not what’s going to happen, but the stories in the visions do have a message, a lesson to teach them, or warning to give, just as a card reading does. She makes the card reading come alive.
I read tarot cards (and, in fact, as a wee plug, I’ve designed a CAOS deck) and so that’s why I extra love all this, I think. And I just adore the idea of her giving readings as herself, like finally giving that reading to Hilda and Dr Cee that she promised, and the idea of Melvin coming to her nervously to ask for a reading, and it just becoming the norm that the First Witch hangs around the coven and you can get readings from her if you’re brave enough to ask, haha.

Still out here wondering why the only witches who are shown as actively pansexual and/or polyamorous are background characters and villains. We can say that Sabrina being straight and monogamous is because she’s half-mortal, but she is also the white protagonist, so consciously or not the show has set up her values and identities as Good in juxtaposition to those of the world her antagonists exist in. She and Nick, she and Harvey, Harvey and Roz, and Hilda and Dr. Cee are the ones we’re supposed to root for, and they’re all heterosexual and monogamous. Even Dorcas, who’s an antagonist and actively a part of the coven’s sexual culture, is suddenly made more sympathetic once she develops an attachment to Melvin.
Going a little further, all the non-conventional relationships are portrayed as bad ones. Luke and Ambrose were technically polyamorous, but only became such when Luke was already out of the picture and after Sabrina’s dislike of him was made clear so that Prudence could be presented as a better choice. Meanwhile, Blackwood excuses cheating on his wife by saying he believes in polyamory, as if Constance’s wishes are nothing more than an inconvenience, and of course his relationship with Zelda is far from healthy (although there is an interesting counter-message in both Zelda and Lilith’s relationships to men showing that trying to use the existing patriarchal system to one’s advantage will always fail and that true freedom can only be achieved by tearing it down completely, which is another reason I think a lot of fans, especially queer women, are eager to see them subvert that system’s expectations by finding happiness together). And then there’s the fact that their engagement in bdsm becomes equivalated with Zelda’s self-harm and eventually Blackwood’s abuse. Big yikes.
OH and let’s not forget how concepts like sin and evil are only for the false church and demons are supposed to be benevolent but Jesse Putnam was still possessed by a demon for the sin of being at the very least a cross-dresser, probably gay since Apophis refers to him as a “sodomite,” and that he literally says he was drawn to Jesse because he was so sinful.
I kind of have my own theory that I’m using in one of my fanfics about like, maybe demons actually did start out that way and the witches’ whole belief system was intended to be about freedom and choice but everything got corrupted by Lucifer’s need for power, but that doesn’t really change anything about the relationship presentation, just Jesse being considered sinful. I am anticipating or at least hoping that making Lilith the queen of Hell is going to involve some backtracking and an actual “you are free to do and be whatever you want and we’ll accept you” message, though unless Madam Spellman actually happens I don’t think there’s a whole lot of hope we’ll see it translated into having any endgame gay or poly couples (I’m still rooting for Harvey, Sabrina, and Nick to be a happy triad and Roz to find a girlfriend).
#the worldbuilding in this show is actually shit#they need to get their ideologies straight#YEET#caos#caos meta#its too early to be this annoyed#now that ive vented its back to sleep

I love it so much!! I love that you continue to give Zelda’s traumas and grief the attention they deserve! The way she tells the passage of time by how long it’s been since Sabrina died conveys how completely life altering her death is for Zelda. And I love that you address why the mortal fathers of Sabrina’s friends weren’t at the funeral. Mr Putnam is so kind and gentle, it makes sense that Hilda would feel moved by his visit and his words of condolence. When she allows herself to express some
(continued) grief and embraces Mr Putnam I was in tears myself. Zelda’s ‘overreaction’ is totally in character. She’s not only a grieving mother and her trauma from her marriage is still very fresh, so the outburst fits and reminds me of her outburst about not being called Lady Blackwood. Any acknowledgment that she was married would trigger her, considering how horrific that experience was. I’m glad Mr Putnam seemed to sense that her reaction wasn’t about him and that he was understanding.
Zelda’s interaction with Reverend Walker was also so good! Her aversion to his touch and her anger at being called ‘fallen’ and his other assumptions about her family felt very Zelda. I also loved her defence of Rosalind. I can imagine that his lies and the hurt that would cause Roz would be difficult for someone who just lost her own daughter to bear. Zelda is always ready to defend children from their fathers, but especially now.
Which leads us to Mr Kinkle. Theirs was the interaction I was most curious about and you did a brilliant job with it! I love that you staged their scene in the graveyard where they last interacted. She’s cordial and you can tell she feels a certain amount of empathy towards him. They’ve both lost children. But she also hasn’t forgiven or forgotten his treatment of his son (like the writers apparently did). The memories of her own father were heartbreaking and they make it clear why she was so hurt when Hilda accused her of being an alcoholic like their father in ‘even losing you’. His threat was absolutely terrifying and realistic considering that he surely noticed that she had used magic to stop him from hurting Harvey. It always bothered me so much that there was never any consequences for that.
And finally, Dr Cee literally running to her rescue was the sweetest thing!! I love that he’s the one to see them and come to her aid and I also love the fact that Zelda still has agency and is the one to push Mr Kinkle to the ground. It’s a great blend of having her supported and cared for without making her a damsel in distress. I also love that she’s slowly learning to trust him and that she treats him with respect. Beautiful, beautiful fic!
First of all, I’m so sorry this lovely message went unanswered for so long. I’m really terrible at answering comments in a timely fashion, and I’m very sorry for it. I tend to want to give a response worthy of the comment, so I put it to the side to wait while I think of something sufficiently brilliant to say in response, and then the messages collect dust.
grief became a sword inside her heart feels different to some of the other stories I’ve written, and I think you’ve captured that in your response to it, that Zelda still has so much pain inside her, and through her interactions with these men, you can sort of plot her journey of wading through that pain. I’m so glad, too, that the moment Hilda has with Mr. Putnam registered as an equally important one. Sometimes, in my dogged focus on Zelda’s suffering, I neglect giving Hilda the space to wrestle with her own. But seeing as Hilda and Mr. Putnam took Theo and Sabrina to see Santa Claus together, I wanted there to be some acknowledgment that these two characters have more history together than the brief moments we get in canon.
The Reverend Walker section was a challenge, because CAOS itself seemed to forget he existed, which frustrates me to no end. Canon fails to address the fact that Roz’s dad lied to her all of her life, and blamed her grandma for her own disability...?!?! Like I feel like we don’t talk enough about the fact that Roz was raised to believe that Nana Ruth’s lack of faith was responsible for her own blindness, and that therefore blindness was a divine “punishment,” and not, you know, a common disability that neither Ruth nor Roz should be shamed for having. It was important to me that that conversation happen in this fic, and that it would happen publicly, because we’ve seen in the past that Zelda isn’t always as careful as she should be to protect her witch status when a child is being harmed by their father. The fixing of the suit moment was something I stole from both canon and the blooper reel, because there’s just something about the way that Zelda/Miranda preens suits that feels like both an ingrained gesture, and a weapon, if that makes sense? like it’s an excuse to publicly invade a man’s space without it necessarily reading on the surface as an aggressive or seductive move, despite being both of those things. Appearances are important to Zelda, in a way that can’t be dismissed as simply vanity or tradition--particularly after the Caligari spell. And while I’m not sure all of that “reads” in the fic, I’m so glad that you loved her defense of Rosalind.
And thank you so much for noticing the fact that the “setting” of the third section is meant to directly parallel Tommy’s funeral scene! I wanted history to repeat itself, but with a slant, you know? And Mr. Kinkle is drunk again because the charm that Sabrina put on the eggnog was broken by her death. I have this theory that when a witch dies, any outstanding spells would be broken. I also just feel like it’s really offensive to anyone who struggles with alcohol abuse, or domestic violence, to then act like charmed eggnog would magically cure Mr. Kinkle of both his addiction AND his abusive nature, as if those things are something you can just flip a switch on, you know?
And when it comes to Dr. Cee, I just really love the idea that, for perhaps the first time in Zelda’s life, she has a solely positive male presence in her life. And slowly but surely, you can see that she’s starting to trust in his goodness, you know? I’m soft just thinking about it.
Anyway, this is getting extremely long. I just want to say THANK YOU SO MUCH and I’m sorry I take so long to answer these. I appreciate your feedback and support more than I can say.

your opinion on zelda's storyline in part 2
haha THANKS WE HATE IT
(i’ve touched on this a little bit before, but here i go again!!)
ok so this is not going to be terribly coherent bc i just got back from a draining day-before-easter shift, but here goes nothing. when i heard that zelda’s sl in part 2 was going to be more political, i predicted her arc would definitely continue to feature faustus. a friend of mine theorized, and i agreed, that he was involved in edward’s death somehow. i figured that the writers would probably develop the relationship between zelda and faustus further, only to later reveal faustus’ involvement in her beloved brother’s demise to ensure ~~maximum angst~~.
but i did not think they would do…That. That Which They Most Certainly Did. like, look. the zelda/faustus dynamic was a little shitty to begin with! certainly, they both are guilty of using one another for personal gain and have had a good time doing so, so they were on a bit more of an equal footing in the beginning. there were definitely certain aspects of their relationship in part 1 that rubbed me the wrong way though (faustus’ taking advantage of zelda’s moment of weakness/supplication, then later rebuffing her; his comment about her rapid aging; his relentless crusade to thwart her niece, etc., etc.), but at least then zelda was very much in control of her faculties. to STRIP her of that by way of the caligari spell was…repugnant, to say the least. we knew from the end of part 1 that faustus was aiming for an Era For The Dudes, but even so…that entire plotline rocketed faustus from somewhat pleasantly nasty antagonist to downright abusive villain. a lot of people have commented on how clumsily and rapidly the writers had faustus become the Big Bad of part 2, and i agree… and to then not address the potential adverse effects of the (heavily) implied sexual abuse zelda would have suffered whilst in the spell’s thrall… AT ALL??? i mean, this is perfectly in line with how these writers like to do things if what i hear about what’s been going on over in riverdale is true, but like. COME ON. do better! this show pushes such a strong Feminist Agenda and yet?????? this???????? gross negligence????
don’t get me wrong. it would absolutely be in-character for zelda to be dismissive and try to brush aside any concern for her safety and well-being. she would likely not let on that anything had affected her much, even if it had. i’m not asking that we see zelda reduced to a melted-candle-mess (although that would be fine TOO, whatever!! just address it, you cowards!!) but we didn’t get ONE scene where hilda or sabrina even TRY to check and make sure zelda is really okay, and that’s…so not in-character of either of them, tbh. sabrina would’ve vehemently, if futilely, protested zelda returning to faustus, tbh. and idk man. it’s just. so important to acknowledge that what happened was not okay. even in this magical world, stripping someone of their right to make their own choices is gross and horrible, and needs to be treated and addressed as such.
ANYWAY. things i actually liked? the growth and development we saw between zelda and hilda. :’) we got a lot less soft!zelda this part than in the previous, which :(( i missed my big ol’ softie. but! the CONTRAST between hilda’s nightmare in part 1 (zelda insulting and taunting her) vs. zelda actually showing up for/helping hilda regain the confidence to pursue dr. cee was so heartwarming and lovely. i love that they didn’t just totally disregard zelda’s apology to hilda in the wake of sabrina’s harrowing by the weird sisters.
in terms of….other things i liked? um. her costumes! were *_____*. miranda continues to wow me with all her little acting choices and overall beauty/ability to wear the FUCK out of literally everything they put her in. i love zelda spellman always, but wow the writers have A LOT to make up for in part 3, and i’m not sure….they’re even interested in doing so, so…. :////

Be a Good Little Demon
Request: the scenario in s2 e6 where hilda kisses Dr Cee because of the witch hunter. Read on ao3
“Then you and the rest of your witch kind can burn in Hell.” The girl stated calmly, reaching behind her back and producing a knife.
The smile finally slipped off Hilda’s face; she didn’t have time to deal with the girl. Truly, she didn’t. If the hunters managed to find her in a mortal bookstore of all places, then they surely knew about the house. She had to contact Sabrina; immediately.
Which was how she found herself hurriedly pushing Cerb into one of the aisles and kissing him, much to his confusion. But she needed his incubus, that form was made of sturdier stuff and it was unlikely the hunter came prepared to deal with a demon—different weapons were needed and from Hilda had been able to tell, the girl only had the witch killing kind on her.
Saying a quick apology in her head, Hilda yanked off Cerb’s Damascus steel bracelet and kissed him again. His body shuddered as the incubus took over, “now, be a good little demon and go deal with the witch hunter for me.” It was a lucky thing this hunter was cautious, or perhaps cocky, either way the girl’s slow measured steps had given Hilda the time she needed.
When Cerb’s eyes opened back up they were completely orange save for the black of his pupils. A guttural scream ripped itself from his throat and he was moving past her and towards the hunter in seconds. Hilda waited a moment, making sure Cerb had the hunter fully engaged before she slipped into the back and tried phoning Sabrina.
Of course, this had to be the one time her niece didn’t have her cell phone on her. Grumbling, Hilda hurried over to the mirror hanging on the wall and cast a quick scrying spell as crashes and growls emanated from the front of the shop.
Popping from mirror to mirror in the house, Hilda saw no sign of Sabrina… but also no sign of a struggle beyond a damaged front door. So the kids were safe, well, relatively. Ambrose was locked up but in no danger from the hunters, while Sabrina was free but likely being chased by hunters.
Swearing under her breath, Hilda cocked an ear and listened to the ongoings out in the front room, the sounds had died down, to an extent. Now it just sounded like Cerb was blowing off the remaining steam by destroying the furniture.
Hilda poked her head out of the door and what she found confirmed her thoughts. Carefully, she snuck up behind Cerb and slipped the bracelet back onto his wrist. He paced a few more times, but slowly, Cerb came to, his eyes changing back to their normal warm brown.
“Is she gone?” She asked, peering around the room and finding no sign of the hunter.
Shaking himself, Cerb blinked and then focused on her. “Yes, chased her out. She got more than she was bargaining for, I suppose.”
Hesitantly, Hilda approached him. “I am so sorry, love, but it was the only way I—"
He swallowed the rest of her sentence, having closed the distance between them in several quick strides before framing her face with his hands and capturing her lips between his own. “No apology needed,” he breathed when they broke apart. “I would do whatever is needed to protect you. Though I have a feeling you could have handled her yourself.” Cerb quirked an eyebrow at her as his hands slid along her body; his incubus clearly not sated even with the bracelet in place.
Exhaling shakily at his continued caresses, Hilda nodded. “Yes, I um, I could’ve… but, I—” she gasped when his lips locked onto her neck and he pressed against her. “I needed to check the house for, for, for my niece.”
Cerb growled against her neck, “is everything alright with her?” He started to walk her backwards until they were behind the counter.
“Mmmhmm,” Hilda managed, unable to form a coherent sentence.
“Good,” Cerb replied, pushing her cardigan off her shoulders and kissing her hard. Hilda returned the kiss with equal fervor and made quick work of the buttons on his vest as they sank to the ground.
~~~~~~~~~~~
The store door banged open 30 minutes later and Sabrina called out for her. Hilda shot up from where she’d been laying against Cerb’s chest, his hand alternating between stroking her back and fiddling with her hair. He looked at her with wide eyes and Hilda hurriedly cast a spell that dressed them both and teleported Cerb to one of the aisles that hadn’t been destroyed.
Popping up, Hilda answered Sabrina’s third shout with an undignified, “yep?”
“Auntie, you’re okay?” Sabrina asked imploringly, taking in the damage to the store.
Clearing her throat, Hilda nodded. “Yeah, absolutely fine.” She flicked her wrist to dispel any sign of their recent activity as she rounded the counter. “Just cleaning up some spilled milk from a surprise visit from a witch hunter.” Hilda went on to explain that they’d merely chased the hunter away when Cerb appeared. Thankfully he had the wits about him to have grabbed a garbage bag to make it appear as though they’d been cleaning this whole time.
Though now that she could see Cerb she realized that, in her panic, her spell had missed a few things; his vest was unbuttoned and his tie loose. But praise Satan, Sabrina was too preoccupied to put those particular pieces together and Nick’s arrival only further distracted her niece.
Sighing in relief, Hilda leaned into Cerb’s side as the kids talked, his arm wrapping around her comfortingly as they discussed it wasn’t a lone hunter, but a pack. Perking up at the mention of the academy, Hilda pulled away from Cerb and started plotting on how to break into the academy to warn the students and save Ambrose.
Note: I am working on everyone’s requests. I have about 20 right now, so please be patient with me. Thank you for all of the wonderful ideas :)
I can’t help but notice that in Emperor Blackwood episode, when the Resistance all have their memories back and are set in the Desecrated Church ready to take Blackwood down, Lilith isn’t sat next to Sabrina or Zelda or even Hilda. She’s sat next to Dr Cee.
Like, this is a Lilith who knows exactly who she is-- she might remember the false life Blackwood’s Imp gave her, but she also knows her real life too. And she sits next to Dr Cee. Comfortably, contentedly, they both look quite at ease next to each other and are sat quite close.
I just love the implication that Lilith’s friendship with Hilda has been shown not only to transcend parallel universes (in fact her friendship and trust of both Spellman sisters does, as the moment Hilda says Zelda sent Sabrina and Roz, Lilith trusts them without question), but that her friendship extends to her husband too. I mean, Lilith would have already known Dr Cee from her times at his diner with Sabrina, but the idea of it now being on a more personal level due to growing friendship with his wife is just both adorable and hysterical (also extra funny considering the actor who plays Dr Cee played Adam in Supernatural. At least I think it was Supernatural. I’ve only seen the GIF sets)
I just love the thought of Lilith finally having friends and a support network, that it stretches beyond the Spellmans and beyond the Coven, it becomes an actual network. In a world with no Eldritch Terrors so Lucifer and Sabrina M never have to turn up in Greendale, Lilith gets a wonderful life raising her so with Hilda and Dr Cee and Zelda and Sabrina and even the likes of Prudence, Ambrose, Agatha etc. But probably never Nick...too much negative history from both sides there between them, haha.
