Been rewatching the early Marvel movies and apparently this is the time of my life where I just get re-obsessed with characters I love so here's some random thoughts about Loki/Thor the Dark World:
Why. In the world. In the universe. Did Odin not ask Loki ANY questions when Loki was brought before him for judgement in Dark World? Like, at the BAREST MINIMUM he should have asked where Loki got an ARMY, the last time he'd seen Loki was when Loki fell off the Bifrost and then he vanished for a year and showed back up with the glowstick of destiny and an army that Thor says "are not of Asgard or any world known". ODIN. WHY ARE YOU NOT ASKING QUESTIONS ABOUT THIS?!
Like, we are aware that Odin is. partial to giving his kids harsh punishments. He obviously doesn't care about Loki's motives. Like, a good parent would look at their kid who disappeared for a year and then came back insane and be like "hey so what happened to you when you disappeared? you didn't get captured by a super powerful being and tortured into submission did you?" (Thanos tortured Loki I have SOURCES and I WILL cite them upon request) But even a bad parent who was a decent king would wonder how their kid suddenly got an ARMY out of NOWHERE and yet Odin never questions this at all. Even Thor in Avengers at least asks Loki "Who showed you this power? Who controls the would-be king?" (which just shows Thor would honestly be a better king than Odin tbh) but Odin is just like "nah this is not important. imprisoning my son for life and telling him how worthless I think he is is more important in this moment."
I wonder if she'd had more time if maybe Frigga would have been able to get Loki to tell her what happened and if maybe that was part of her goal of visiting him (beyond just, you know, actually being a decent parent who cares about her child and wanting to keep him company) because we know she's clever (she's smarter than Odin good gravy, is there like an age difference between them is he going senile or something) so PERHAPS she thought if she talked to Loki she could puzzle out what had happened to him and find out if there was, you know, a potential universal threat Asgard should be aware of. And like, if she had found out anything what was Odin going to say? He can't actually punish his wife in any meaningful way (lol imagine he tries and she just grabs her two grown sons and leaves, help xD) especially if she found out IMPORTANT INFORMATION that he SHOULD have discovered on his own.
This does kind of highlight an underlying problem with Odin, where he seems to think that Asgard is invincible and is, well, lazy about defending it. Like, I've seen posts about how Loki letting the Frost Giants into Asgard in the first movie is actually him not just showing that Thor is not ready to be king, but also demonstrating that Asgard has dangerous holes in its defenses. Because yeah, Loki can HIDE HIMSELF FROM HEIMDALL and sneak into Asgard. Heck, he can sneak OTHERS into Asgard while he's not even WITH them. That- that is a security threat, because if anyone BESIDES Loki could do that then Asgard could easily be invaded and- wait a second, that happens in The Dark World! The Dark Elves hide themselves from Heimdall and sneak an invasion force into Asgard! Destroying it's defenses and KILLING ITS QUEEN. Like, my goodness, do you think Loki is the only person with these abilities? Are you even trying Odin? At all?
TLDR; Odin is an idiot for not questioning Loki about the Chitauri/where he was for a year between Thor and Avengers, not to mention an awful father and an incompetent king.
#long post#loki#thor#thor the dark world#odin#marvel#this is really just me dunking on odin akjlghjafhgsf#the more I rewatch the movies the more this stands out like#my dude why are you like this#he's multitasking he's being both a bad king and a bad father!#loki in the first thor movie is such a smol overwhelmed bean I want to give him a hug#thor 1 gets so much more interesting when you watch the deleted scenes with loki in them my word#I showed my parents the one where the asgardians made loki king and my mom was like 'THAT WAS TWO MINUTES WHY'D THEY LEAVE IT OUT'#because it was IMPORTANT#like. I'm not saying Loki was making great decisions that whole movie#but he was overwhelmed and highly emotionally compromised and felt trapped#he was doing his best#he's just quiet and doesn't yell his plans to everyone like thor so people suspect he's Up To Something#which might also be a little bit of commentary about how society favors extroverts#anyway#getting deep in these tags at almost 3am about movies that are 10-13 years old wheeeeeee

Something rubbed against his leg beneath the table. Jon saw red eyes staring up at him. “Hungry again?” he asked. There was still half a honeyed chicken in the center of the table. Jon reached out to tear off a leg, then had a better idea. He knifed the bird whole and let the carcass slide to the floor between his legs. Ghost ripped into it in savage silence. His brothers and sisters had not been permitted to bring their wolves to the banquet, but there were more curs than Jon could count at this end of the hall, and no one had said a word about his pup. He told himself he was fortunate in that too. His eyes stung. Jon rubbed at them savagely, cursing the smoke. He swallowed another gulp of wine and watched his direwolf devour the chicken. Dogs moved between the tables, trailing after the serving girls. One of them, a black mongrel bitch with long yellow eyes, caught a scent of the chicken. She stopped and edged under the bench to get a share. Jon watched the confrontation. The bitch growled low in her throat and moved closer. Ghost looked up, silent, and fixed the dog with those hot red eyes. The bitch snapped an angry challenge. She was three times the size of the direwolf pup. Ghost did not move. He stood over his prize and opened his mouth, baring his fangs. The bitch tensed, barked again, then thought better of this fight. She turned and slunk away, with one last defiant snap to save her pride. Ghost went back to his meal. Jon grinned and reached under the table to ruffle the shaggy white fur. The direwolf looked up at him, nipped gently at his hand, then went back to eating.
Jon I, AGOT
It's interesting that GRRM would dedicate several paragraphs to a seemingly unimportant exchange between a boy, his wolf, and an unfriendly third party. But there's just something about this passage that has continued to nag at me for years since I first read it because, considering how heavy handed GRRM was with the foreshadowing in AGOT, this feels important.
Jon is sitting at table full of squires - aka would be knights. We don't really know who they are or what families they belong to, but it's safe to assume that they come from a certain level of privilege; this is considering the fact that it cannot be financially easy to be a squire. And these boys already have a slew of tales detailing all their previous knightly exploits regarding "battle and bedding and the hunt" which suggests that they have some capital. So you have boys who will soon be men. And they will, presumably, become men of some power.
These lads eat their fill of the chicken until only half remains, which Jon then gives to Ghost. The direwolf's name is not so important here but what he represents is. Throughout the series, we're told that Ghost is reminiscent of the weirwood trees (because of his red eyes and white fur). He's stated to be of and from the Old Gods and since he's a personification of the weirwoods, he might as well be one of them. It's almost as if Jon is presenting whatever is left on the table to the Old Gods (Ghost). He lets them devour his offerings while he silently watches. And the motif of watching is so interesting here because it's kind of like Jon takes on a stewardship role - to watch over land/people/etc. He oversees Ghost eating the chicken, so he's overseeing whatever has been given to the Old Gods. This is not new imagery to his arc. As a brother of the Night's Watch and eventually its leader, we have several instances where he leads people to adopting the Old Gods in some fashion. In ADWD, several recruits swear their vows to the Old Gods while he watches on as their Lord Commander. The Old Gods are also primarily of the North and we're told that Jon has more of the north in him than his brothers; interesting that this also includes Bran. So perhaps whatever is being offered to the Old Gods relates to the North.
We must also note that Jon initially thinks to give only a small portion, a leg, before pivoting and providing the entire thing. It feels to me a bit like the process of carving up a kingdom or something similar. The lords (represented by the squires) take what they want and leave aside what they don't; or perhaps they have eaten to their fill and can take no more. Then when his time comes, Jon first considers a small piece of land/group of people before eventually absorbing all of whatever is left behind. The concept of carving up a kingdom rings harder considering that we have several callbacks to the ideals of kingship in this chapter. Robert, Jaime, Tyrion, and even Mance though we don't know it yet, all play into this. And then there's the aspect of Jon letting the chicken slip between his legs which evokes birth/fatherhood, a very curious choice when GRRM could've just had Jon place the chicken on the floor. So land/people are carved up and Jon then uses whatever is left to birth his own type of kingdom. And this kingdom is one for the Old Gods.
This also touches on something that has been quite prevalent throughout Jon's arc. It's the concept of accepting the "others" or "those left over" who live apart from the accepted social norms. Arya (a tomboy), Sam (a gender non-confirming boy), the Night's Watch (criminals, extra sons, and men who have no future left or place to go), and even the wildlings are all examples of this. And Jon takes on a leadership/paternal role to every single one of them. He looks after them as a leader would/should. Sometimes, in the case of Arya and the wildlings, he's equated to a king. He's a steward/shepherd/king. There's messianic undertones to this:
Come unto me, all you who are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light." (Matthew 11:28-30).
If you're familiar with Judeo-Christian tradition, you'll know that Jesus is often personified as one who spent the majority his time among the outcasts. The idea is that he came to save them too and that anew kingdom (or new earth depending on your translation) would spring up after the end of the world where he would forever rule as king; which presents the idea of a final king after the earthly ones are done away with. Now GRRM isn't so heavy handed with Christian allusions as other authors out there, but he does have a Catholic background and Jon is so overtly a Jesus figure. And in Revelation, Jesus is king and god at the very end....
One last thing: the mention of the mongrel who challenges Jon has always been rather interesting but confusing to me. A mongrel doesn't really relate to one specific type of dog. But it's interesting that Jon notes several roaming about where he is. They follow the serving girls who carry the food to be offered. Mongrels are used to describe antagonist/villainous groups in ASOIAF. Sometimes, they're used to describe slavers in Essos. But what's interesting is that most of the time, they're used to describe Euron's Ironborn especially in Victorian's POV. So I don't think the mongrel who challenges Ghost is a supernatural threat of death (i.e., the Others) but rather a human one. They represent those who are called to the scene once the lords have finished playing their games. It almost feels like a feast for (carrion) crows....
But it doesn't really matter because this mongrel isn't much of a challenge for Ghost. Though the mongrel is much larger, the direwolf is able to fend her off very effortlessly. Given that "mongrel" is used to describe Ironborn raiders, could this exchange between Ghost and the mongrel point to reavers or sea raiders who rise and fail challenge Jon kingdom? There is a historical King Jon Stark who did this....
When sea raiders landed in the east, Jon drove them out and built a castle, the Wolf's Den, at the mouth of the White Knife, so as to be able to defend the mouth of the river.[1][2] His son, Rickard, followed him on the throne and annexed the Neck to the north.
ref.
So this might shed some light not only on Jon's already published arc, but also on what we can expect in the future. We have some foreshadowing through Jon's ADWD dream that he will not only rise with the dawn (thereby live through the Long Night), but will be in a position to lead people (wildings in that chapter) to a new peace after a hard fought war. Also remember that the wildlings, rather enthusiastically, swear oaths to him as if swearing oaths to their king. In this instance, the supernatural (a dream of the war for the dawn) is followed by the natural/human. So perhaps this particular passage (and Jon's dream) can be used to predict that Jon comes out on top, and quite effortlessly too, as a leader. And he becomes a leader who rules by association with the Old Gods; or rules a kingdom for them.
To end, I think it's of note that this passage immediately precedes Jon's conversation with Benjen where he voices his desire to go out on his own - the hero's call to action. This is the adventure that's going to kickstart his growth as a man, warrior and most importantly, a leader. So it looks like before we even began, GRRM telegraphed how it would all end in just three short paragraphs.
#jon snow#asoiaf#valyrianscrolls#ghost the direwolf#some random extra thoughts:#the aspect of fatherhood is closely tied to kingship as kings are often regarded to be the fathers of their nations#so we might see a parallel where jon-like dany-doesn't have children of his own physical body#but rather rules a kingdom as its symbolic father#think of how odin-a mythical parallel for jon-is called the all father because he is father to all men/lands#also it's interesting to me how kingship is a theme but it's almost like the actual theme is that of kings coming of going#but jon remaining and prevailing above all#we have robert who is a disappointing/bad king and his rule doesn't last very long and neither will his dynasty#jaime looks like a king and even if grrm didn't go through with his original ideas he was never meant to rule for long#in the new story jaime is symbolic of rhaegar a would be king whose time comes and goes leaving jon to pick up the pieces#then tyrion who stands “as tall as a king” but not quite! he still is not as tall as jon and tyrion also says in a later chapter#that soon he'll be even shorter than ghost + tyrion wasn't hand for long#mance who is hidden also has his time as king but it's very short lived and jon later absorbs his kingdom to make his own#so we have the wolf devouring the “left behinds” in a way but the interesting thing is this happens in reverse doesn't it#might Jon's new kingdom not only be made of remnants of the nw and wildlings but also have those left behind from the rest of the 7k?#it's possible since jojen tells us that once night comes all cloaks become black 🙂#so yeah this is all just more jon endgame king of winter/a new north propaganda lmaoooo

“This blog does not welcome Folkish Asatruar or RadFems”
What does this mean/what is it in reference to? Not trying to be mean I’m genuinely curious
No worries! I’m happy to answer!
Folkish Asatru and Radical Feminism are two related hate movements, representing two heads of the same ideological beast that despises humanity and all the different ways humans love being human.
The first of these, Folkish Asatru or Folkish Heathenry, is a phony spirituality that acts as a disguise for the Neo-Völkisch Movement. This is an extremist movement whose ultimate goal is to create a White ethno-nation called Vinland on US soil. This Vinland would be a tribally-organized society of white people whose lives, thoughts, behaviors, and emotions are strictly controlled by a social pressure to perform and conform to an impossible standard of ideological perfection. The fear of deviation would make this society a self-sustaining hellscape to all except the most handsome and aggressive of malignant narcissists.
The way the neo-Völkisch Movement goes about this is by brainwashing people into believing their happiness is being robbed by the presence of BIPOC, LGBTQ+, Jewish people, people with disabilities, “non-contributing” members of society, Christianity, cultural exchange, industrialization, globalization, freedom of information, gender-nonconformity, and anything else that stands in the way of the neo-Völkisch agenda. The Movement convinces people they will “reclaim what’s theirs” if they remove or dismantle these things on a local and national level.
The Neo-Völkisch substrate is not always obvious by looking at Folkish Heathenry. Its different varieties—such Odinism/Wotanism and Theodism—claim they’re “the ancient religion of the vikings” and don’t usually mention hating other people. Folkish spaces might not even use the word “folkish” to advertise themselves, and will instead use terms like Ásatrú or simply Heathenry/Heathenism.
Regardless of what label they choose, Folkish groups pose as spaces of brotherhood and connection for white men of Scandinavian descent, only to radicalize members against other social groups by feeding them Neo-Völkisch ideologies masquerading as ancient viking beliefs and practices. They also tend to use aggressive aesthetics, sometimes dark and tribal-looking, as a way to appeal to a sense of exoticism and the American masculine ideal.
Folkish Heathenry doesn’t resemble genuine Heathenry and has nothing to do with the beliefs and cultural norms of the pre-Christian Norse. Its esoteric practices are just rebranded forms of Theosophy, and its virtues and values are pulled directly from the late-1800’s Germanic Völkisch Movement, the father of both the Neo-Völkisch Movement and Naziism. (Hilariously, most Folkish don’t identify as Nazis purely because they don’t like Naziism’s large-government structure…not because they think eugenics is deplorable or that getting rid of all the Jews, BIPOC, queers, and disabled people is a bad idea.)
If I were to give you just one thing to look for to help you spot Folkish Heathenry, it would be this: Folkish Heathenry wants heathenry to be a lifestyle and academic discipline, not a spirituality defined by people enjoying interpersonal relationships with deities and spirits.
The Folkish don’t want people using Heathenry to connect with the world around them because this weakens their control over people’s perceptions, feelings, and behaviors. That’s it. If you’re in a heathen space, and it rewards you for talking about history and academics but dismisses or embarrasses you for talking about the supernatural, then you’re in a space controlled by the Folkish and you need to get out.
Radical Feminism is actually related to the Neo-Völkisch Movement as it shares a similar ideology of eugenics and biological essentialism. Despite calling itself “feminism,” it’s not actually feminism at all, but an antisocial movement intending to co-opt the meaning of the word.
Feminism proper has always been about creating a society where everybody, regardless of sex, has complete agency by virtue of their inherent personhood, and are treated as such by all social structures. Historically, this treatment has only been given to white men. The reason why feminism is called “feminism” rather than something like “equalism” is because it grew out of women’s rights issues.
Radical Feminism, however, is the opposite of feminism. It’s designed to break apart the actual feminist movement by making women debate about what “a woman” actually is. It tries to change what “feminism” means by defining it as an ideology of embracing and embodying womanhood, which it has never been.
A few flavors of Radical Feminism developed from this, the first being Trans-Exclusionary Radical Feminism (TERFs). Just like its neo-Nazi and neo-Völkisch counterparts, TERF ideology believes “real women” are those who were born with vaginas, wombs, ovaries, and the enthusiastic desire to make more White People babies with them. Women in these spaces are pressured to perform femininity 24/7 and to bully women who can’t or don’t conform to these standards.
Then there’s the “traditional wives” or tradwives. This one directly stems from the Völkisch Movement, for the ideal tradwife is the obedient, blond-haired, blue-eyed, never-aging waif who tends to a vegetable garden outside her cottage at the pastoral foot of an alpine mountain range—just like perfect Völk wife. But unlike Folkish Heathenry, the tradwife movement doesn’t use academics to attract its members because it doesn’t want women to be curious or educated. Instead, it uses homemaking videos, cottagecore aesthetics, and vapid spiritualism to convince white women they’ll find happiness by getting married, making White People babies, and maintaining multi-million dollar properties on land that’s terraformed to look like Bavaria.
Radical Feminism also has some overlap with gold-star lesbianism—the idea that lesbian purity is the condition of being “untouched by a man”—but I can’t really speak much to this since it’s outside my area of knowledge. I’ll let others fill you in on that one.
The reason why I say I don’t welcome Folkish Asatruar or RadFems is because I want to make it clear that I don’t support these movements and what they stand for. However, I should probably rephrase this statement to say “Neither I nor this blog support Folkish and Radical Feminist ideologies,” because if I could, I’d reach out my hands and pull people out of these groups. Anyone who finds more joy in my writings than in dogwater “us vs. them” narratives is always welcome to stay.
That’s about as much as I can say about the subject while keeping it relatively short! Hope it helps!

➸ Fear Deity! S/O; Record of Ragnarok
Character: Hermes, Aphrodite, Odin, and Buddha A/N: This was fun to write. By the way, I might allow requests to be open tomorrow. No promises though! Disclaimer(s): Nothing wrong, just fluffy shit
╔══════════════════════════════════════════╗
╚═════ Hermes ═══════════════════════════════╝
📨 As the Greek Deity of Fear, you were hailed for many centuries for your ability to torture someone with visions and dreams of their worst nightmares happening. Because of how bad some of them got, many began calling you Deitas Interni Nocendi, or Deity of the Internal Harm
📨 Hermes gained interest in you after the whole Adamas incident. He had asked if you sided with his uncle, to which you smiled and asked if he thought you feared such a pathetic man so much. He just smiled back and chuckled before evolving into a deeper conversation with you
📨 Years later, you guys stood by one another's side as you were married and began to make your own branch of the Greek Pantheon grow larger and larger. This was especially true when your children of fear from your previous bond with a human warrior, the Terrors, began to see Hermes like a father
📨 During Ragnarok, you stood alongside your husband and now adult-children. While he admired the fights with his father, you merely sat with your head on your hand in boredom. It wasn't until Poseidon lost and Jack the Ripper came on stage that you could feel the fear that flowed through everyone's frames, feeding you amazingly
╔══════════════════════════════════════════╗
╚═════ Aphrodite ═════════════════════════════╝
💐 Aphrodite has always been an alluring woman, and she knows that. She looks at herself so much that she can perfectly draw her body without any issue. But, with breasts that big, how hard would it be to remember your figure?
💐 When you arrived at a meeting with the other Gods, she was shocked to see just how dark you were. Even the God of the Dead, Hades, dressed in more color than you did! You walked in with your children following you, all in cute little color-coded cloaks, while you had a large thorn-made crown on top of your head with some thorns poking out of your skin amazingly
💐 She was entranced with how you held yourself. Many feared you, and the small few who didn't ended up succumbing to your ability to instill fear in all you wish too. Aphrodite was surprised that you seemed to have little animosity with her, and when she asked, she was happy to hear you actually enjoyed her more 'peppy-look'
💐 It was after you guys married and began ruling your realm together that everyone began to notice just how much more joyful you were to be around. You started dressing with more color and plants on you, she even got your little Terrors to dress more colorfully and child-like, despite how they aged to be more mature. It honestly made even the toughest Gods smile on the inside
╔══════════════════════════════════════════╗
╚═════ Odin ═════════════════════════════════╝
🪶 Odin respected you from afar. He knew of your abilities and always decided to stray away from asking you for any insights on the issues inside of your Pantheon
🪶 But, when a couple incidents with Loki grew into including your youngest Terror, Kenaz, he had no choice but to have you come to a meeting. Everyone was internally weary that you would pull something and end up forcing their Pantheon to go into war against you and your seven little fear-monster children. Thankfully, that did not happen and you ended up surprising them by being quite nice to be around
🪶 Ever since that day, you spoke more and more to the Head God of the Norse Pantheon. As he spoke to you more and more, Odin had started to mentally record every tiny event you guys had where you made his heart start beating faster. This led to you guys becoming close allies, then courting, before settling on marrying one another years later
🪶 When your only biological son, Thor, was born, everyone feared you more. Not only could you instill fear and make someone scared so much that they had a heart attack and just drop dead like nothing, you were also married to the Odin, and had the Thor as your son. You were quite the surprise to all
╔══════════════════════════════════════════╗
╚═════ Buddha ═══════════════════════════════╝
🍭 Buddha had always heard of a Deity that lived in Heaven that could control the fear that someone, even an immortal, had inside of them. He never encountered you for quite some time, but when he did, he wasn't that surprised with how you behaved
🍭 He guessed you'd be a quiet and threatening type, which you were. But, you only shocked him when you seemed to be more sunshine and rainbows with your Terror-children. You would kneel to their height, pat them on their shadow-like head, and kiss them goodbye as they went to speak to another mortal on the path to be a better person
🍭 When you guys actually started bonding, everyone who knew you just wanted to know why you were around the 'Human-God knockoff' all the time. You would just smiled and laugh before looking at them with a dead expression and telling them he made you laugh more than anyone else had ever
🍭 Buddha does love being around you, especially after you guys got together. He also loves being around your children. Your oldest Terror, Shui, was more of a shy-type, but when Buddha came around? That just fell faster than a loose rock on the mountain that Sun Wukong was stuck underneath years ago! He was the perfect choice for you and the perfect choice for your children. And you wouldn't have it any other way

Request: Tumblr ate the original request but it was something along the lines of: “Loki finding his lover who he’d thought was dead but was actually banished to Earth”
A/N: Takes place during the events of 2012’s The Avengers because I miss that era of Marvel SO BAD
-----
In your time on Earth, few things had posed such a potential problem as the Tesseract. While few had the ability to use it, its very presence invited those who would attempt to use its power to harm the universe. Including your old flame, Loki. He’s why you’d been so quick to accept Fury’s invitation to assist with its retrieval.
You doubt he even knew of your involvement until he’s been captured and brought aboard the SHIELD helicarrier. Until those brilliant icy blue eyes meet yours through the window of Banner and Stark’s lab as you help them bridge the gap between the Tesseract’s science and magic as he’s escorted to the holding cell, wrists shackled and a muzzle clamped over that too-clever mouth. You can see the flicker of shock in the miniscule tilt of his brows, the creeping wave of doubt that replaces the recognition. You can’t blame him for doubting the reality of your presence, not after everything that had happened.
And you leave him with that doubt as the days pass, as SHIELD agent after SHIELD agent attempts to crack him. You let him stew over whether he’d truly seen you or just a doppleganger as the buzz begins to settle and security begins to lapse, and then, finally, late in the night you go to him, security cameras fuzzing out and guards slipping into the warm grasp of sleep in your wake.
In just a few short breaths from your sleeping Midgardian colleagues you stand opposite the thick wall of glass keeping Loki contained, face to face with your lover for the first time in centuries. He seems startled, though only someone who knew him as well as you would’ve been able to tell.
“Hello, my love,” you say, a hand coming up to press against the glass between you without conscious thought. It had always been instinct for you to want to be close to him.
He’s silent, but you know it comes only from that brilliant mind racing - that he’s calculating odds and probabilities. That he’s trying to determine the truth of your presence - whether it’s really you or just another trick SHIELD is using to try and get to him.
“You died,” he says slowly, not yet believing you, but still unwilling to put further distance between you. “A very long time ago.”
A wry smile twists your features and you pull back, fingertips cool from the glass, and start to circle the glass prison. His gaze does not waver from you. “I suppose that is what Odin would have told everyone, yes,” you sigh. You gesture up toward the security cameras, “They’re off, by the way. And the guards will not disturb us, I’ve made sure of that.” There’s a flicker, a waiver of reality, as you vanish and reappear inside of the cage behind Loki. “You know what he told me? That I was dangerously close to destroying your destiny, and Thor’s alongside it. He said I would uproot the very fabric of fate if I remained at your side.”
He doesn’t turn to face you, though you can see a fraction of the tension leave his shoulders under the rich greens and burnished golds of his armor.
“I told him I would rather die than be kept from you. And he said that he could make me wish for death.” It hurts to remember the look on the All-Father’s face, to think of the weight of his decree, but Loki deserves to know everything. To be able to make his own choice for once in his long life. “He sent me here with nothing and no one and no way for me to get back to you.”
The silence is heavy, bearing down on your shoulders with all the weight of the things you’d never gotten the chance to tell him. The truths you’d learned that you hadn’t been able to tell him, the ‘I love you’s’, the eternity you should’ve been able to spend together.
“Did you try?” he asks, voice soft like silk bedsheets in sleepy afternoons spent curled up together and crushed velvet clutched in desperate fingers. “Did you try to find a way back?”
Your voice is thick, the words hard to force out around the heft of their truth, “Every day.”
He turns, finally, the ache in his blue eyes matching the one in your heart and he makes it a half step toward you before he starts to collapse and you surge forward to meet him, arms curling tight around his waist to support him and keep him close to you. His fingers tighten into the leather of your armor, holding you just as tightly. He will not lose you again. “I mourned,” he says, and you can hear the pain, the tears threatening to choke his words, “By all the realms, I mourned.”
“I know,” you murmur, because you do. You’d had no way of knowing if he lived, all those years with you trapped here, but you had hoped and mourned anyway - grieving over all the years you should have had. “But we’re together now. Loki, we can go.” His weight eases against you as he looks up at you and you can see your suggestion taking root, “We use the tesseract to get off this planet and go somewhere, just the two of us. No Odin, no Chitari, no destiny that we do not build ourselves.”
A breathless sort of laugh escapes him and you can feel his fingers slip up your back to curl into your hair and he drags you down until he can kiss you, deep and longing and aching in a way you can feel through every fiber of your being. “Okay,” he says, when he pulls back for a breath. “Okay.” He’s smiling so broadly he’s nearly unable to kiss you again. Nearly.
And you feel the same joy echoing through you, knowing that the two of you are free now, free to be together and build the future you never thought you’d get.

A/N: I was deeply anxious about writing this because it has been quite some time since I last watched the Marvel movies. However, as a fan, I am determined to step out of my comfort zone with my writing. This fic is quite self-indulgent.😭
Thank you to soft-p for giving me with encouragement. Your words were like a reassuring pat on the back and a wake-up call.
P.S. Don't forget to reblog, like and comment to support your favorite writers. Enjoy! ❤️
Warnings: angst, friends-to-lovers trope, violence, reader almost gets k*lld by a monster, a worried reader, oral(fem receiving) praise, dirty talk, Thor being a big softie, doesn’t follow the canon of the movies, love confession, straight up filth.
———————
It was a regular Monday afternoon at your job as a barista in a black-owned coffee shop, the smell of coffee beans and cinnamon buns wafted through the air. You've grown tired of the smell, it was like a bug you couldn't shake off.
You weren't a fan of coffee as others were, you prefer bottled water, apple juice, hell even orange juice. Others might want orange juice over apple.
Your chocolate brown collared tee shirt had an aromatic smell of spilled coffee double espresso and cream, your khakis pooled around your thick legs. Your cap on your head, Not to mention the coffee stains on your shoes, You neatly tied your freshly done box braids in a ponytail. Your brown skin.
You greeted customers with a fake smile and the regular ‘Have a nice day’ saying to them as they left money in the tip jar, drinking coffee on their way out, the chime of the bell rang in your ears.
Another day, another dollar you said in the back of your mind.
To be honest, you have grown tired of the same routine of your normal everyday life.
Wake up, go to work, head home, go to sleep repeat. Maybe you needed some spice or excitement in your life, maybe you were overthinking things.
The television in the upper right corner of the spacious room played the news showing a clip of Thor defeating a purple monster that resembled a demon, you wondered if the beast escaped from Hades to take Thor with him.
You and Thor crossed paths at the park, engaging in chats about your interests and personal experiences. Both of you spent quality time together, frequenting diners, the park, and even your own home. As your friendship began to develop, it grew steadily and became quite strong.
You thought his life seemed cooler than yours, except for his father, Odin, praised him more highly than his brother Loki, the mischievous god. The conflict between the two brothers seemed intense. Thor and Loki lost both of their parents but as time passed they were able to get along.
You empathized with his brother as he sought validation from his parents and tried to make them happy, as it reminded you of your own past.
You were certain that Loki wouldn't want any empathy or pity from a mere mortal like you, he was somewhere in his realm thinking of world domination.
While his mother seemed to be a gentle woman, his sister Hela came dangerously close to taking out his eye during the fight. That must have hurt. Like really bad.
Sheesh, what a family he had.
You grinned and sang softly to Thor, amazed by his unwavering bravery and extraordinary combat skills. Wow, he was also incredibly attractive with a stylish haircut.
You wondered if Thor would take your application or resume for a assistant? You used to dream of being a superhero when you were a kid, having superpowers and saving the day.
Did superheroes ever pay back for the damages to cars and buildings, personal items when in every battle?
Kenya tapped your shoulder while you clocked out of your morning shift, your head turned toward her with concern, "Are you okay?"
You nodded at her, “Yeah, i’m fine, just a little tired.” you said softly, taking off your apron.
Once you walked out of the coffee shop and dusted yourself off, you looked both ways of the street before a tentacle quickly slithered around your waist, your eyes widened in shock as you were randomly pulled toward the demon, its red crimson eyes bore into your soul as its tentacle gradually moved you up and down in its tight clutch.
Thor’s narrowed at the towering purple demon holding you hostage, its tentacle brought you close to its face. “L-let me go…” you whispered, you flinched and the quiet sniffling from you broke Thor’s heart.
“Unhand her! I shall send you back to Hades where you belong and where you will stay for eternity!” Thor roared, holding his axe close, lighting bouncing off of him.
“Isn't this the feeble mortal you yearn for? Your heart desires for a connection? Aren't mere mortals and gods told to stay in their place? Such a radiant soul belongs in Hades..”The demon taunted, its deep voice sending shivers down your spine.
“You only spew lies from your wretched tongue, prepare to perish like the others..” Thor spat, swinging his axe in his hand.
You clenched your fists, trying to muster up the courage to fight back, but you were no match for the monster's strength.
What did the demon mean by that? He yearns for?
Thor threw his axe at the repulsive creature, and the axe severed the demon's arms, making it stagger backward as its arms were released. Bringing you to great heights in the air, Thor cautiously crouched down and soared towards you.
Thor finished off the beast with every punch, its desperate cries begged for mercy. Thor’s thunder zapped the demon and sent him back to Hades.
Your eyes closed shut with your arms frantically moving around your body, plummeting to your death. The wind gushing against your face with your tears falling from your eyelids. The bustling wind and light blue sky witnessing
Was this how you said goodbye to your friends, your family, your life? It couldn't be.
You suddenly stop falling when you are caught in the bridal style by Thor, your hands resting on his chiseled forearms.
The ground seemed miles away, but you felt oddly calm knowing that Thor was there to protect you. His blue eyes met yours with concern and relief, a small smile tugging at the corners of his lips.
Your box braids pooled in front of your face with your eyes fixed on Thor, “Are you alright Y/N?”he asked gently, his finger gently moving the braid from your face.
“Uh…Yeah, I'm okay. Thank you Thor for saving me..” You said softly, nodding at him while giving him a small smile.
"No harm shall come to you as long as I'm here. I won't let anything happen to you." He reassured, his words tugged at your heartstrings.
Didn't your whole life flash before your eyes?
You hopped from the heroic arms of Thor and waved goodbye to him, your eyes almost welled up in tears as you sniffed them away.
Thor lifted his axe up to the blue sky and thunder came down on the two of you, it didn't shock you or hurt you. But it was tingling over you, teleporting you to another world. It was strange.
Your eyes opened wide to the birds chirping and the towering building painted in soothing macaroon cream color with gold designs engraved in them, from the towering mountains of greenery to the people dressed in white loose robes.
Oh shit, were you really in Asgard? The New Asgard right?
Your heart skipped a beat at his words, but before you could respond, a towering man was behind Thor. It was Heimdall, the guardian of the Bifröst.
"Thor, we are thankful to have you back to Asgard," Heimdall said softly, his voice echoing through the air.
Heimdall’s fiery eyes locked with your deep brown ones, his grey locs pulled back in a low ponytail and his dark brown skin caught your attention. He was so handsome.
“Oh? You brought a mortal to Asgard your Highness?” He asked him, titling his head to the side.
“She is my friend and I accidentally brought her here..”
Heimdall nodded, “Well, surely it wasn't a mistake. It must want her here for a reason..”
Your eyes gazed upon the gods and goddesses roaming through the roads, the women were as tall as the Amazons in Themyscira, with their gold brass armor and white flowy togas. It was different here.
You bet that the women in his home would throw themselves, he was a god after all. Did Zeus’s women who sat by his throne faint at the sight of Thor?
“Thor, can I get extra clothes and take a shower?” You asked him, pursuing your lips.
“Oh! Um..i could ask Majesty for some extra clothes and I can shower where the shower is in my castle.” Thor mentioned, nodding with a nervous chuckle.
Majesty teleported to your location in the elegant castle, giving you a warm smile and greeting Thor. “Greeting Thor..” she said softly.
A goddess by the name of Majesty with her dark brown skin, her brown locs pulled back by a purple headscarf, swaying side by side, her loose toga hugged around her thick body. Her amethyst-purple eyes bore into your soul, reading you like a book.
She was so beautiful, you've never seen a goddess that looked like you in the paintings by old white dudes from years and years ago, in the books, and in the movies. It felt nice to see it up close.
“Hello there Y/N, here are some clothes for you." Majesty spoke kindly, taking the clothes from behind her back.
She handed you a small bundle of clothes, her voice soothing and comforting. "Feel free to freshen up and make yourself at home."
You thanked her gratefully, feeling a sense of relief wash over you. As you make your way towards the shower, you feel a mix of emotions. On the other hand, you couldn't shake off the feeling of being completely out of your element.
After a quick shower, you changed into the clothes that Majesty had provided. The purple loose robe was comfortable and stylish, fitting around you perfectly. As you walked back into the main room, you found Thor waiting for you with a warm smile.
"You look beautiful," he complimented, his eyes sparkling with admiration. "The clothes suit you well."
Your cheeks grew hot at his words with a flutter of excitement in your chest. Being stuck on Asgard might not be so bad after all, especially if it meant spending more time with Thor.
"So, what now?" you asked, trying to hide the nervousness in your voice. "How do I get back to Earth?"
Thor's smile faltered slightly as he scratched the back of his head. "Well, that's the thing... I'm not entirely sure. The Bifröst is not under my control, and it seems to have brought you here for a reason."
You groaned inwardly, feeling a mix of frustration and anxiety wash over you. "Great, so I'm stuck here with no way back?"
Thor's expression softened as he reached out to hold your hand. "I promise you, Y/N, I will do everything in my power to help you find a way back home."
His words brought a small smile to your face, and you couldn't help but feel comfort in his presence.
“I know you will, I trust you..”
The night arrived rather quickly in Asgard with the moonlight slanting through the huge window, your eyelids gradually opened to the spacious room. You couldn't sleep, great. The silence was rather annoying than peaceful.
Was Thor still up? You stood up from your side of the bed and strode out of the bedroom, you maneuvered your way through the wide hallways and stopped in front of his towering door in brown wood with intricate cravings, you rapped your knuckles against it.
“Come in..”
You gently nudged the door open with your head leaning in the room, “Thor? Are you still awake?”
You stepped inside the spacious room and looked for him, pondering if this was a good idea.
“Yes, I am. Don't worry..”
Thor stood before the balcony with his eyes fixed on the full moon and the ink-black sky painted with sparkly stars, his arms resting on the railing. It was centuries since he had been home, he missed his mother, his father, and his brother.
Thor felt alone but when he met you, he didn't feel so alone anymore. But it felt like anytime something happened he would lose everyone. He didn't want to lose you either.
“You're my friend Thor, I get that you're a god of thunder but I'm still gonna worry about you..” You said softly, walking toward him with a light chuckle.
Thor turned his attention toward you with his hands resting on your shoulders, “I worry about you more than you ever know…”
“I appreciate that but I can take care of myself..”
“I didn't intend to put you in danger.”
“Don't blame yourself for what occurred, things like that happen a lot when you're fighting crime or demons right?” You added, smiling a bit.
Thor lightly chuckled with a smile, he wondered how you were calm through it. You were almost hurt by a monster but you didn't die. You were stuck on Asgard for a while but you were with Thor.
There was always a silver lining to something your aunt would say, you couldn't wallow in self-pity so keep living for yourself.
“I have fallen in love with you..” Thor confessed, his eyes locked with yours.
Maybe the demon was right about one thing, his feelings for you. Those feelings were real.
Your eyes widen a bit, you can't believe what you are hearing, “I feel the same way about you too..” you admitted, your hands resting on his chest.
You always felt this way about him but you wanted to wait until the time was right to tell him.
Thor crashed his lips into yours with you reciprocating the same action, his hands moved toward your thighs as he picked you up by your thighs, your legs wrapping around his waist, your steamy make-out resumed, your moans muffled on his lips.
He laid you down on your back on the plush bed, he took off his clothes and kissed your plump lips again.
Thor flipped you on your back with his hands gently tucking your robes from your body, the wind brushed against your skin causing your nipple to go erect, his large hands squeezed your breasts, “oh..Thor..” you moaned softly.
His thick fingers gently slid between your wet folds and you gasped softly, your hips against his face movement, “Oh yes! Thor!” you screamed again, your head falling back on the pillow, your essence oozing on his tongue.
His tongue licked a wet stripe between your folds with his mouth latching around your throbbing clit, your hands gripped his blond hair tight. Waves of pleasure washed over you, his hooded eyes locked with yours.
Was this a way of worshiping Thor? Blessing him with your presence as he lapped your essence, Thor's hands roamed your body, biting and kissing every curve and crevice, as his lips trailed down your neck, littering your dark brown skin with hickeys, “You taste so good..” he groaned, kissing your lips again.
Your climax rippled through you like a tidal wave, your essence oozing into his mouth, you screamed out loudly as your legs shook in his hands, “oh fuck!” you screamed, you panted lowly.
The two of you lay side by side with your eyes locked on him, you stood up from your side of the bed gathering your clothes.
“You're mine now..” You told him, pecking his lips as you headed off toward the shower.
This day was more than perfect, maybe your life wasn't so dull after all. You were dating a god that loved you and only you.

||. was browsing through tags of a comic thor post and found this beauty in someone's tags:
i love the acknowledgement of odin as a godking above father & how that’s hurt thor not just loki
obviously, I won't name the person's reblog on this blog but it's something I've always felt is largely true about the mcu odinfam situation, particularly where the father and the boys are involved.
Odin's parenting style (being strict, and the all-father above just a father), hurt Thor just as much as Loki. They were both hurt by their parents and especially in vying for their father's approval. (aka: his affections, because really any child desperate for their parent's attention, approval, pride is really just craving unconditional love.) People seem hard pressed to believe that this sort of pain was exclusive to Loki... which I fundamentally don't understand. (Need I remind everyone that Odin didn't just say "you're unworthy to call yourself a king and a hero bc you're being selfish in your ambitions"... which is true. He also got a good, walloping "you are unworthy of the loved ones you have betrayed" TO HIS FACE before being stripped of his powers and banished to some backwater planet for an indefinite amount of time...)
The reality of the situation is Loki always had Frigga to lean on, confide in, and be in his corner. Even if it was off-screen, truth is that he told Frigga what he learned about being a Frost Giant the first chance he got. He confided in her his worry for Odin's health ("i never get used to seeing him like this"). She actively expresses support and validation in front of him in a way that Loki at least positively acknowledges even if he doesn't always receive the words, and while I don't believe Thor wouldn't have gained the same solace from his mother, I am of the opinion - based on (this deleted scene from "THOR") in particular - that she would give support in the same way she would with Loki ... and it never landed with Thor. Because Thor is not Loki. And Frigga doesn't always know how to speak to Thor so Thor can hear her.
So, really at the end of the day, whether it was true or not, Thor only had himself to emotionally rely on. Coupled then with being primarily under the express tutelage of an extraordinarily strict father who was priming Thor to uphold his own legacy, (apparently not be anything like Hela despite the two kids being polar opposites) and 'never seek out war but must always be ready for it' and then you get a sentiment that ultimately can be summarized in Thor's words at the end of Dark World when he comments his reason for surrendering his birthright of his own volition: "I would rather be a good man than a great king." (which, sidebar, but I am entirely convinced is Thor commenting on his father's way of ruling, his father's way of parenting, his father's way of being. And quite frankly, no, I don't think the real Odin would ever let Thor give up his birthright to go live on Earth when Odin is old, dying, and the whole of Asgard is primed and ready to follow Thor as their new All-Father.)
alt., in the words of comic!thor his (extremely mixed) opinion of Odin:
"A hard god, my father, but one who would move heaven and earth for his children. And did , quite literally, on many occasions. From Odin, I learned command. I learned the ways of the worlds and the godly arts of war."
#(not really a full meta or w/e bc one day i should really go through the entire 2 thor films and compile)#(all of my thoughts on every thor/odin interaction but tl;dr their relationship is a mess.)#( meta . ) — son of cosmos . lightning flows through thy veins .#my meta#(thor loves him and he wants to make him proud but he also wants to be nothing like him...)#(all because thor's instinct is to follow his heart - and odin's is to follow his head. those two things are at conflict with one another.)#(and yet despite everything thor is still that same little boy-)#(-who looked up at his father and saw this legendary hero. a true warrior. the pride of all of asgard who is a mighty hero and great king)#(who was able to keep bad people in line by being SO strong they were scared to oppose him and was still the wisest in all of asgard-)#((besides his mother))-#(because he knew better than to seek out war without a good reason)#(imo keeping true to that and adding in the element of ... //sighs loudly// h e l a -- means delving into thor's psyche and figuring out-)#(-at what point does his adoration of odin breed resentment and insecurity and subservience bc-)#(lbr it's all there. it's just not as loud as loki's literal crying and screaming about his daddy issues)#(which isn't shade to loki he just literally screams and cries about it. thor ....very rarely speaks his true heart about this topic.)#( ooc . ) — stories that leap from the page .#long post#(sorry for not putting it under a read more folks but it's too important to me)

Hello and may i ask if its okay to request, if so? Can you do ROR x reader?
(Romance or Yandere) Thor x Sif! Reader? Probably in their first meeting (eX. Probably Thor looking for strong opponents among the giants, later meeting Reader) to something platonic or romance.
In Norse mythology, Sif is the wife of the thunder god, Thor. Sif was a giantess, goddess of grain and fertility, and one of the Asynjur.
Reader was strong and smart, But she canshu and gentle but She's not a pushover and she's mostly a pacifist but she has a passive-aggressive or would fight if its necessary or for her safety or survival.
Alright! I Guess i can make a Drabble with this (POST PRODUCTION, i put Sif as a Godess without knowing that Asynjur wasn't really another Word for god (that and in the series the Giants are bascically Monsters so a little creative freedoms). Sorry for that!)
Thor x Sif! Reader: the Thunder and the Earth
It was a long time ago, in Asgard, that a great war occurred. Between the race of gods, giants, and a race known as the Asynjur.
This war divided the three races into different sides, with different ideologies, different lifestyles, different worlds. Only united by their history of hate, war and blood. However, with the growth of the giant hordes, both the gods and the Asynjur could no longer afford to live apart, they had to unite in order to counterattack their common enemy.
To achieve this, the Asynjur sent several of their most important representatives, deities of the functioning of the earth, to generate a diplomatic link with Asgard and the Norse gods. Thus generating, with hope, a new era of peace between both races.
That was the intention, however, due to the intense discrimination by the gods against the Asynjur, considering them “lower gods” they decided on a simpler life, far from the city of Asgard, on the outskirts, far away. from the prying eyes and malicious judgment of the gods.
That was the case of Sif, the giantness of grains, fields and fertility. The giantness was not easy to handle by any means, she had a soft but powerful character, a maternal but strict voice. She was the closest thing all the Asynjur had to a guide. However, she herself decided to isolate herself from everyone, preferring the company of animals, plants and the countryside, over the gods.
Few blamed her, not only for how bad things were getting with the giants, but also for the rise of certain unruly and troublesome deities, such as Loki, god of mischief, and more recently, Thor; the god of thunder. Ugh, how sick Sif was of listening to everyone raving about the god's violent acts, throwing flowers at his battles as if they weren't an unnecessary and arbitrary display of power.
Sif did not hate the gods, not even this god of thunder, but how she hated the vanity of the Norse. Only accepting excessive violence under certain terms. Odin forbid any Asynjur to do the same as Thor, otherwise he would probably suffer the same fate as poor Baldur...
Despite her displeasure, fate had other plans for the Aesir. Plans that would hopefully unify the Asynjur and the gods.
Thor was a warlike god, everyone knew that, always looking for someone to fight with, not just someone to kill, no, someone who would give him a real challenge, a genuinely challenging rival. But unfortunately he couldn't find that, neither in Asgard nor anywhere else.
There were moments where Thor simply wanted to get away from everything, from Asgard, from his father, from the disappointments, from the expectations. So he decided to go to the outskirts of the Norse pantheon, where it all begins. Just clear His mind and be calm.
What he didn't expect to find was someone already there.
Or well, not necessarily in that order. At some point Thor was hungry, so he decided to go after one of the mountain goats that were around. However, as soon as he hit the blow that stopped the animal's heart, that was when he saw her.
Among the trees, collecting fruits, looking at him with a mixture of amazement and rejection, disgusted by what he had done. Thor didn't recognize her, this woman had to be a goddess, he could feel the power within her, but why hadn't he seen her before? Why does she react like this?
She stopped what she was doing and tried to go help the animal, but it was too late, her heart was not beating, her lungs were not breathing. Thor watched as she cradled the dead animal in her arms before giving him a cutting look, giving him a fruit in hks hand after hearing his reason for doing such an act and heading off to an unknown direction in the woods.
And Thor, the god of thunder, followed her as a hunting dog follows its master. He couldn't explain why, but he felt magnetically attracted to this woman, he didn't know how to explain it (plus, a part of him felt guilty for possibly killing her pet, maybe there was a way to make it up to her?).
Sif didn't even know how to feel about it, obviously this selfish god wouldn't mind killing a poor animal even with all the resources of the countryside at his disposal, she understood that, typical unentitled god behavior. What worried her was that this particular god seemed to follow her.
Is it because she don't let him keep his dinner? But at the same time she saw out of the corner of the eye how he ate the fruit that she had put in his hand without saying a word, so he wasn't very hungry. Could he be one of those perverted gods? Mph...she doubted it. If so, he would have already tried something. But then what the hell did he want?
When they arrived at the goddess's house, Thor simply stood at a safe distance, simply watching Sif go about her daily tasks, like a dog waiting for orders. Sif did not understand anything of what was happening, but no matter how much she told the god to leave after burying the goat, he simply continued watching, but from further away.
So, Sif did her normal activities, she took care of the field, she took care of her animals, her plants. All with the god of thunder watching. As the sun was setting, Thor finally said goodbye and left for Asgard. Leaving a very confused Sif.
This ended up becoming a strange routine between the two, whenever Thor grew tired of the world, he would simply go straight to Sif and watch her live her daily life, helping occasionally, but keeping his distance for the Asynjur's comfort.
As much as the giantness tried to keep her barriers up, they eventually melted, either through the god's genuine acts of service, or when he actually listened when she talked about things from her life so far. Either by bringing something small that she said she liked (like a flower bud or strangely shaped rocks) and, whether she wanted to or not, she ended up getting used to the presence of the stoic god.
However, marriage was not in her plans, not at that time, even if it was. Until there was a particular moment between them.
Sif and Thor were chatting about their differences, Thor still not understanding many things. Questioning Sif as he lay on her lap, not knowing what to think.
- “If you are strong and you don't like the way your race is treated, why don't you demand respect through your power?” - Thor said, with thunder wanting to come out of his throat. However, Sif only laughed softly.
- “I think that, if you need to use violence to be treated as you should or to assert authority, then you are no better than those who caused the problem to begin with” - Sif exclaimed, gently.
-“I see it like when I do the harvest, I will not always need to cut down hard or plow the land with my strengh”- the Asynjur looked towards her fields, now covered with gray clouds (probably due to the influence of Thor) -“sometimes All it takes is a gentle drizzle. And everything becomes easier”-
Looking towards the horizon, with the rain starting to fall and the lightning starting to shine. Thor no longer only saw this woman as an Asynjur, but as his wife, the only one who genuinely gave him something that challenged him, the woman he could go to when others were too much, his woman.
And Sif no longer just saw a loud and violent god, she saw her husband, the only man she needed during her brightest and darkest moments, the one who would be her shield for the rest of their lives, her man.
God and Asynjur. Thunder and Earth.

What If...? S2 E7 proves that Odin is the shittiest father of the MCU. Hela's bloodlust was the result of Odin's bad parenting.
Hela was one of the first victims of Odin. She never wanted to be an executioner. She was just a child who wanted to play with her wolf and be happy and free.
ODIN WAS/IS THE PROBLEM.

Unworthy masterlist
Thor doesn’t think you‘re a good friend to his brother and won’t stop telling you, his parents, and Loki so.
You’re not rich, and don’t come from a wealthy family. You’re just you, and that is not enough in Thor’s eyes.
“How can you believe she wants to be your friend,” Thor’s voice booms through the hallways. You sigh and try to focus on work, not the fact that the brute is yelling at your friend again. “You’re blinded by lust!”
“Y/N and I are only friends. I know you cannot be around a woman without getting between her legs, but I cherish my friendship with Y/N. Stop trying to ruin our bond.”
“Bond,” the blonde snorts when you step out of your office to come to Loki’s aid. “Ah, there she is. The she-devil.”
“What is going on here?” You glare at Thor, not afraid of the tall man. He’s much taller than you and easily towers over you. “People try to work here, Mr. Odinson.”
“He tried to ruin our friendship again,” Loki defensively says. He moves closer to you, seeking your closeness. He’s still not out of the woods, and the confrontations with his brother do him no good.
You straighten your back and try to look taller while glaring at Thor. “I know you cannot understand that people want to be friends, but this doesn’t mean you can argue with your brother about our friendship all the time. This is ridiculous. Why do you hate the fact that Loki is my friend? There is no harm in being friends with me.”
“Says you,” Thor huffs as he eyes you up and down. “I know exactly what you are up to. Loki is just too blind to see who you truly are.”
You gently take Loki’s hand when he starts fidgeting next to you. He needs someone to help him with his insecurities and not fall back into old patterns.
Drug addiction is a dead end. If you don’t find a way back out, you are stuck. Loki is doing well. You’re a big help and the constant he needs to stay clean.
Thor doesn’t get that you are Loki’s anchor when the world gets too much again.
“How about we get you something to eat, darling,” you wrap one arm around Loki’s shoulder to guide him toward your office. “My office is a haven. Don’t worry. You’re safe, and I won’t let anything happen to you.”
Thor watches you guide his brother away from him with angry eyes. One day, he’ll find a way to get rid of you.
He doesn’t care that Loki and his father think highly of you. Thor Odinson swore to himself to remove you from his brother’s life, and he won’t stop until he succeeds.
“Son, I won’t argue with you again. Y/N is a hard-working woman. She’s smart, eloquent, and always professional. Stop trying to make her a bad person,” Odin warns one last time. Thor tried, once again, to get you fired.
“I do not trust her. Father, she’s not like us. I know there is something wrong with her. Why would she want to be friends with Loki during his darkest times if not to take advantage of him and his vulnerability.”
“I’m right here,” Loki rises from his seat to glare at his brother. “I’ve been clean for almost a year. Y/N was one of the reasons I did not have a relapse. She’s a good person and a kind soul. Stop being a classist!”
“I’m not a classist!”
Loki pants heavily. “YES YOU ARE!”
“Sons!” Odin slams his fist onto the table. “Thor, stop right there. Do not go any further.” Odin’s features soften seeing Loki’s hand tremble. “Loki, we believe you. Y/N is a good person and she’s always welcome here.”
“Thank you, father,” Loki nods before he turns to leave the room. “Please excuse me. I lost my appetite.”
“Morning darling,” you try to cheer Loki up. He told you about the scene Thor made during dinner. “I got you breakfast and the tea you like some much.”
“You’re the best,” he grins and takes the offered tea. “I’m sorry for chewing your ear off last night. I know I can be…too much.”
“Loki,” you cup his chin with one hand, “let me stop you right there. We are friends. You’re never too much. If you want to talk, even if it’s two am, come over or give me a call. That’s what friends are good for.”
Thor watches you run your hand up and down Loki’s arm. He squares his jaw and huff.
“Only friends. Who are you trying to kid, woman…”
Thor feels like he defeated a dragon. He crosses his arms over his wide chest and smirks as he watches your downfall.
Odin didn’t waste time. He’d do anything to protect Loki. Even if it means to fire one of his best and most reliable employees.
It took one old picture to ruin your life. Thor didn’t let up until he finally found something he could use against you.
A snapshot of you, stoned and barely awake as you hold a drink in your hands. To anyone else, it’s a girl partying during college. To Odin, it’s a picture of a woman bringing drugs and alcohol into his drug-addicted son’s life.
Your ears ring from the yelling you received from Odin. He called you an addict, and a bad influence. You don’t care that you lost your job. The only thing that pains you is that Odin forbids you to see Loki again.
“Are you done?” You coolly reply. “If so, you should know that I do not drink and that I didn’t take drugs. That’s a very old picture taken by someone I didn’t even know.”
“I cannot have someone like you near my son or at my company,” Odin regrets his harsh words, but Loki is more important than an employee.
You angrily wipe your eyes while Thor watches you clean out your desk.
This is it. He made it. You not only lost your job, but your friendship with Loki is over too.
His father will not allow you to keep in touch with his son. Not after his golden boy made him believe you’re a bad person. You knew the first time you met Thor Odinson that he would be your downfall.
“I knew you’re a bad influence,” he sneers when you look at him with teary eyes. “You’re tears and pout won’t work on me. I’m not my unstable brother eating out of your hands.”
“Do you think I care?” you choke on your tears. “Did you…” You take a deep breath. “Did you dig a little deeper? Did you find out that the picture was taken after some rich, entitled frat boy spiked my drink to show the poor and shy girl what happens when she turns his advances down?”
Thor blanches at your words. He doesn’t want to believe you, but your eyes give the truth away. “I—” It’s the first time the tall blonde is at a loss of words. He doesn’t have an answer or a comeback.
What if he just destroyed your career and friendship with Loki over nothing?
He was so blinded by his ignorance and jealousy that he did more than damage your career. Thor Odinson destroyed you completely. Your reputation and career lie in ruins all thanks to him. Everyone saw the picture you desperately tried to forget.
What’s past is past you told yourself whenever the memories flash back up. You tried to move past what happened back then and you believed, at least for a while, that you succeeded.
“Did you find out that I ended up in hospital, and that I only got lucky because a friend found me before that very same frat boy could finish his plan?”
“Why would he do this to you?” Thor’s tone is softer now.
“Well, he was just like you. A rich boy who never heard the word no,” you throw the last knick-knack into the box and pick it up. “He believed he can tell me to suck his dick and I’d happily oblige. That guy didn’t get that I’m not the kind of girl seeking attention from guys like him.”
“Wait—if that’s true,” Thor touches your arm, but you shake his hand off. “I talk to Father and explain my mistake. We can figure something out.”
“Save it,” you huff. “He didn’t believe me. I was nothing but loyal to your father and the company. All I ever wanted was to do a good job and be a good friend to Loki. Just you know, I stopped Loki from taking drugs anytime life dragged him down. I hope he finds help soon.” You sniffle. “I’d hate to watch him fall for the poison again only because you made it impossible for me to be there for him.”
Thor swallows thickly when you storm out of your office. You brush past Odin and Frigga who heard every word you threw in Thor’s direction. They feel as guilty as their son when their eyes meet Thor’s blue ones.
“Is that true, son?” Odin questions while you walk away, holding your head high. You didn’t do anything wrong. All you ever did was to support Loki.
“I don’t know yet,” Thor hastily says. “I’ll find out and then…” he trails off watching you walk past your co-workers. None of them even says goodbye, even though, you’ve been there for them whenever someone needed help. “I’ll make amends.”

'𝐔𝐍𝐅𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐃𝐄𝐃 𝐎𝐏𝐓𝐈𝐌𝐈𝐒𝐌.' 𝐖𝐄𝐋𝐋, 𝐏𝐄𝐑𝐇𝐀𝐏𝐒. thor's eye crinkled at the very edges with the ghost of laugh lines as his lips pinched into some semblance of a dry smile. following loki's movements keenly , he considered his words still. ❝ yes , i would imagine you do. ❞
for would it not be loki , god of mischief , not to consider each and every angle from a distance? ( some things never changed. ) with a small huff , thor shook his head and stood to his own feet. his hand was offered to the dramatic mess of a man still knelt dourly at his feet.
but whether loki took his hand or not , when the two stood side by side it was not towards loki that thor searched. in a rare display of vexation , his brow had furrowed and his frown deepened. like wires pulled taught , his arms wound securely across his chest as he surveyed the land. gardens and people and strange creatures he knew not. loki at his side still , though with a temper so foul it was all so at odds with one another thor could not help but find it all rather ... IRONIC AT BEST.
. . . his thoughts blurred together. a slow and deliberate fog descended then. — its presence harkened the onset of a battering headache. thor finally rent his gaze from the vestiges of houses afar and turned to the only companion that seemed to matter. ( though his words still came from a distance , through the fog that descended and marred his own vision. )
❝ ... i haven't fallen into a Sleep again , have i..? ❞
Ignore that feeling. Ignore the memories. He would beg the norns if he thought they might listen to him ( he knew they wouldn't . ) He had to gather scattered thoughts once more, recenter the cleverness - what was the reason among the rhyme?
' . . . there is no magic in this or any realm that comes without beginning or without an end '
Was this place as any other realm? Loki found his eyes look to the gardens, ever flourishing, full of life. There were voices beyond the trees, and beyond those were sounds that teemed of civilization... just as any realm would have.
And yet in every other realm, he would have had his gifts, his weapons ... Thor would have had the same. Though in that mind, Thor had been mortal once before ( so cruel to put the hammer just out of his reach ). There seemed no tether as Odin had for Thor, but he knew not what magic this world possessed.
He loathed to admit it ( he would rather- ) but ... it was possible ... Thor was thinking more clearly than he. All magic had an origin, his skill was in how to draw it out - that was what mother had taught him before. They had to learn how to do it all over again ( what a pain. )
He simply sighed deeply, long, drawn out through his nose with closed eyes. Breathe you fool, your temper is showing. He searched his hands once more, the wounds still present... frigid. He didn't notice it at all.
❝ What comfort. ❞ To be reminded of something he would prefer to forget ( there was no getting rid of the blood of monsters within him. ) a coldness he couldn't shake, a curse in other realms ... but not mortal indeed.
❝ Just because I no longer abuse this structure, does not mean my anger is any less dulled. ❞ He pauses, looking up to his brother once again. ❝ I grant you acknowledgment of your theories, regardless of how your unfounded optimism stands. ❞
He reached for the device and key he had been granted, he would retrieve the diadem in a moment ( it would not be hard to find ) ❝ I need to consider this... ❞ Alone.
#( ic . ) — son of odin . the crown is a heavy burden for thee .#( closed . ) — locked in father's vault .#mischiefmodig / o1#mischiefmodig#( :D when u know that u've been storm sick for months and ur brain is trying to grapple with... EVERYTHING. )#( thor vc: i've dreamt stranger things. and worse things... )#( thor is also just like 'yeah i could see maybe it got that bad and now i'm just really delirious that's entirely plausible' )#( .... but yknow it's /fine/ he's ... coping )
