One of the most ancient uses for swimming is it’s involvement in many types of employment. In Japan there are abalone and pearl divers who spend many hours each day engaging in swimming to impressive depths to gather these riches. Whether it’s for research or construction, swimming continues to be an important part of modern industry.

It’s low impact nature allows those whose movement would otherwise be restricted to engage in a full body workout without causing further damage. Even those who are of advanced age can find an ability to remain active in this sport!

Due to it’s full body nature, this sport is also excellent for building cardiovascular and respiratory health, increasing how much oxygen the body is able to take advantage, as well as how much blood the heart is able to move with each stroke.

   VERSE :  MAIN.

   A godly wife to the master archer Hou yi, she fell from the Heavens when nine of the Jade Emperor’s ten sons, who turned themselves into literal suns, were shot down ; this was as a last resort, despite her husband’s attempts to talk them down from their destructive mischief while scorching the Earth. Although now mortal, Hou Yi was crowned a hero-king by a village of people he had saved previously. He & Chang’e then began living a lavish life as royalty, but even so, his beloved wife was never quite satisfied with their life in nestled in comfort ; she hid this from him, however, knowing that he was doing his best to ensure that they lived their new, short lives in comfort.

   The longer that Hou Yi reigned over his people, the less he viewed his subjects as his own. They were seen as extensions of himself & his beautiful wife, to be used as tools to ensure his rightful place at his throne & provide her with entertainment.  

   In his attempts to keep his wife happy, he nearly drowned her in gifts and glory ; expensive pelts and robes, exotic pets that eventually died of stress, and endless maids to watch over Chang’e & praise every move & word she uttered. Chang’e, though she loved her husband, felt suffocated by his constant presence & his overabundance of gifts, so much so that her attempts to distance herself from him out of guilt only made him more insistent, if not obsessed with keeping her approval ; after all, she was so much prettier when she smiled. 

   Eventually, this lead him to seek aid from the Queen Mother of the West, but sent his subjects in his place to venture through the dangerous trails & tests of determination ; until one day, there were no more subjects to send. 

   Chang’e, seeing this as an opportunity to finally put distance between herself and her husband, urges him to go, convincing him that in the end, the reward of eternal life would be worth the effort. And so Hou Yi sets off, leaving his wife left behind in their big, empty palace ; Chang’e, on the other hand, reveled in the lack of his presence. When her husband finally reached the Queen Mother, claiming that he wishes to share an elixir of immortality between him and his wife so that they may stay together eternally. Along the way home, Hou Yi finds a strange key, & uses it to lock the box that kept the elixir safe & secure keeping it on his person to avoid losing it. 

   That very same night, Chang’e felt a pull to the locked box  --  her yearning for her immortality resurfacing greatly ; so as her husband slept, exhausted from his journey, she removes the key from his person during the middle of the night. After opening the box that kept the Elixir of Immortality secure, her greed consumed her and she quietly drank the entirety of the concoction. To avoid conflict with her mortal husband, the goddess floats away from their big, empty home. 

   She paused for a moment, however, to reflect on events. While doing so, she threw the mysterious key far, far into the ocean, frightened by its influence. 

   However, in that moment, Chang’e was struck by a mystical arrow through her right hand. The second blow, upon her turning to face her assailant, grazed the left side of her heavenly visage  --  a scar beginning at the edge of her jawline, traveling over her eye & eyebrow, ending at the edge of her forehead. The assailant, Hou Yi, had awoken, & in his attempt to retrieve his wife in his rage-fueled state, he shoots at her a third & final time, through her now-immortal heart. 

   Chang’e flees to the heavens in her wounded state, leaving her husband to rot in his empty palace. As she staggered, looking for aid as mystical arrows were still lodged in her form, she stumbles & accidentally breaks a prized vase that belonged to the Jade Emperor’s wife. Chang’e did recover, though shimmering scars remained ; as punishment for upsetting his wife, the Emperor exiled the young goddess  --  but he gave her the courtesy of having a large palace built on the moon, & allowed the Jade Rabbit to join her in her new, but otherwise incredibly lonely residence  --  keeping her just far enough from both mortals & celestials so that she may be just close enough, yet still just far enough away that she could not truly bond with others at such a great distance...

   In more modern times, Chang’e has taken up a TV personality for her own cooking show, & has also become an influencer through social media ; promoting makeup products, merchandise, & collaborating with various miscellaneous brands to keep herself busy.

   Alternatively, with the aid of various accessories made of moon rocks, she is able to visit Earth freely, as she is still in contact with it via her accessories.

This portal seemingly closes and opens only a few times in a lifetime. This A place where Thai, Filipino, Malay, Indonesian, and Singaporean culture meet! Languages could differ from the Province, Prefecture, City, or even District/Borough you are in. We got a rental car and I drove next to them at a nearby Food Hall. They were eating the Pulau adaptation of Pad Thai Noodles.

"ha! I'll take the last serving!" Basilio says as he takes the serving fork.

"Hey!" Crispin Complains. I immediately stopped their fighting by taking the bowl of the remaining noodles and putting all of it in my plate.

"Let your cousin eat! Will ya two?" I said right before taking a spoonful of noodles.

"you're not our cousin biologically! Fuck off!" Basilio angrily retorted.

"well just let me eat, I spent most of the time getting a good rental car!" I said pointing at the slightly rusty "1990 Hiace" parked behind us next to the food hall.

"you mean this junk?!" Both of them complained.

"stop it!" Alexandra joined the conversation to stop the argument.

"Any vehicle manufactured before 2011 had no computerized systems. Meaning? They can't be tracked via GPS!"

I explained.

After we ate, we got into the rental van and I turned the key. The van comes to life and so does the radio.

I started to sing in Indonesian as I drive down the City. Everyone except for my sister looked at me as they never knew I spoke Indonesian.

We arrived at the rental house and started to get to work. Turns out, an important member of the faction was going to meet with the president of Pulau at the "Palm" Hotel and Casino.

Later that night we went to the casino to identify who was the VIP. My sister started to work on the cameras and Identification. While me and Alex dance with different people to try and make it seem natural. Crispin and Basilio stayed in the van to be part of backup. The party was formal yet it was so Hip! The dancing accompanied by the banduria's playing "Cariñosa" and the people wearing different Southeast Asian formal outfits.

I slowly made my way around and soon spotted her with the help of my sister on the computer.

"That's her, the one wearing a Malaysian outfit."

I looked at her before calling Maliksi.

"get her limo, knock out the driver and take his place as the chauffeur!"

Maliksi simply kicked the driver so strong he fell into the water across the railings. He took the limo and after the party ended, the lady got into the car.

"Take me back to the mansion! Now!"

The lady demanded in Malay.

"Drive as fast and horrible as possible!"

I told him on the phone.

He immediately floored it and the limo darted away towards downtown along the highway. Maliksi locks the limo doors.

"Hey slow down! What's the rush?! Wait, youre not my driver!"

"Do I really need to go fast?"

"Well we don't want to give this girl an opportunity to jump out safely!"
