Babe, I love you, but we both need to get up early.

Alisaie was used to late nights and early mornings. They were somewhat unavoidable as a Scion. And had continued to be a problem as she'd begun her work in Garlemald. However, that did not mean she particularly enjoyed the experience. After all, she was also used to blisters, bruises and muscle deep aches from training and she decidedly did not enjoy them.

"Kii," Alisaie draped herself over her girlfriend, nosing into the side of her neck, "Babe, I love you, but we both need to get up early."

"Mmm," M'kisivhe answered distractedly, her focus still apparently on the scrolls in front of her. Alisaie rolled her eyes at being effectively ignored, and pressed a kiss to where she'd just been nosing.

"Come on, love," Alisaie tried to tempt M'kisivhe, squeezing her gently, "that'll still be there in the morning. You need to sleep too," Alisaie felt M'kisivhe sigh, it landing heavy on her girlfriends shoulders.

"I know, I know," M'kisivhe set the paper down and Alisaie couldn't help the triumphant grin from overtaking her face, "I'm probably just over-worrying anyway,"

"You do do that," Alisaie agreed, kissing M'kisivhe's cheek and releasing her so that she could stand from her chair, "what's it about today?"

"Lahzi," M'kisivhe explained, stretching her arms above her head. Alisaie had to force her eyes to stay on her girlfriends face. She was pushing for sleep, she had to control herself. "These are documents from where we found her, I'm trying to figure out what's going on with that collar so when she's ready, we can-" Alisaie kissed her girlfriend to shut her up. She knew M'kisivhe about as well as she could say she knew anyone, except maybe Alphinaud, and could see the start of a worry spiral coming from a mile away.

"It'll be there tomorrow," Alisaie said, taking M'kisivhe's hand and gently guiding her towards the bed, "and so will Lahzi. The world will not stop turning just because you decided to get a full nights sleep for once. I promise." Before M'kisivhe could begin to try a counter argument, Alisaie kissed her again.

"You don't play fair," M'kisivhe said, pouting as she flopped into the bed they shared. Alisaie snorted out a laugh.

"You're only just realising that?"

Adjusting to peace is difficult for Lahzi. Her life, her training, her suffering, all of it has been for War. For conquer. She's been told it's a good thing, that her suffering will help the Garlean people and the savages of Eorzea.

But then she sits with her Commander and eats with her and her friends, and listens as they speak of home, they speak of meals they've eaten and happy times they've had and she doesn't understand how that can be.

She touches her collar often, and flinches when her Commander approaches, but the shocks don't come anymore. Neither do the rewards, but she's learning that the natural versions are far superior anyway.

Lahzi finds it difficult to adapt to peace, to friendships, and to the idea of being part of the world around her. But she's trying oh so very hard. And her Commander tells her that one day it will make sense.

Lahzi believes her.

for Lahzi Chaos:

What parts of the body are the most expressive? Do they shuffle and stomp their feet a lot when agitated or excited? Are they a hand talker? Do they have an impressive range of motion with their eyebrows?

Lahzi isn't very expressive. Being raised as nothing more than an experiment, expected to be violent on command, punished for not being better than her peers and elders via electric shock.

As she's starting to come out of her conditioning, Lahzi is starting to copy the body language and facial expressions of the people around her.

As of currently, she's mostly copying Alisaie, which is frightening a lot of people. And M'kisivhe, although not as often as she overheard M'kisivhe commenting that it creeped her out a little (that was meant to be a private conversation but Lahzi is a sneaky little thing)

She also tried to hold her body like Lucia for a while but the height difference caused some problems there!
