I heard you'd like some asks? What about 7, 19, 23, 40, 51, 63, 79 and 90 from your Spotify Wrapped for the OC association thingy? Giving you lots of numbers to think about, hope that's what you're looking for. Get well soon <3
Evie, I know I say this pretty regularly, but I absolutely love you, thank you so much for this!! <3
So, number seven on my Spotify Wrapped is "You Should Probably Leave" by Chris Stapleton, and I definitely associate this with Wyatt Friedman and his relationship with Kelly Severide during their hookup phase! The repressed longing in the lyrics, the wanting to push the other person away a bit so you don't catch feelings but also wanting them to stay with you... it all just screams this phase of Wyatt and Severide's relationship to me!
Tumblr media
Number nineteen is "Wendy" by Maisie Peters, and to me this song is definitely one of my new Ted Lasso babies, Day Harvington! For most of her romantic relationships before falling in love with Roy and Keeley, Day has been content to just stay in the background and let her partner be the main character in their story, even when it meant she just wound up getting hurt. After her most recent breakup before her story starts and she and her two friends move to Richmond, though, she makes a promise to herself that she is never going to play a background character in her love story again, if she ever manages to fall in love again, and I think this song is a really good showcase of that.
Tumblr media
Number twenty-three is "Somebody To Love" by Queen, and you just know I have to give this to my Good Omens girl Luci Evans! Not only is Queen's music a big part of Good Omens and therefore part of Luci's story, but she's a pretty big fan of the band herself, and "Somebody To Love" is definitely one of her favorite songs from them.
Tumblr media
Number forty is "First Burn" by Ari Afsar, and while this one was a little bit harder to figure out, I think I'll have to give this one to Ivy Kekoa, seeing as she's my resident show tunes girl! I can definitely see her singing this with some of the other Glee girls when she first finds out Sam has sort-of kind-of cheated on her by kissing Quinn, because even though they're not married and this isn't even on the scale of Alexander Hamilton's cheating she is just that dramatic. She would definitely sound amazing singing it, though!
Tumblr media
Number fifty-one is "Cell Block Tango" from the musical Chicago, and honestly I'm going to have to give this one to my boy Will Welton, purely because I think it would be funny if he convinced Rebecca and Keeley to join him in a performance of this number to try and help Rebecca get over her feelings about Rupert.
Tumblr media
Number sixty-three is "ocean eyes" by Billie Eilish, and I definitely associate this with Ivana Morozova and her reluctance to fall in love with Dick Grayson! Dick really does have those beautiful blue eyes, and as much as Ivana would like to resist them and resist falling for him (for many reasons, not the least of which being that the whole reason she came to Gotham was that she was sent there to kill his brother), she always winds up staring deeply into those ocean eyes and getting herself even further in!
Tumblr media
Number seventy-nine is "Born This Way" by the Glee Cast, and maybe this is cheating, but I'm gonna go ahead and say my girl Bailey Taylor for this one! This would definitely be one of her favorite performances with the New Directions, and it's also a song she resonates with, having struggled with her sexuality and self-worth before. So on top of being a fun song to sing, it's really helped her and made her feel good about herself!
Tumblr media
And finally, number ninety is another Queen song, "Another One Bites the Dust," and I figured we'd stick to the Good Omens OCs theme and go with Zazzadon! I can totally picture this being her intro song the first time she struts up to Earth to help out Aziraphale and Crowley, and it would definitely be playing during the fight in Aziraphale's bookshop in season two while she tries to keep Muriel safe and kick the asses of the lesser demons who are part of the raiding party!
Tumblr media
send me a number 1-100 and I’ll tell you the song it corresponds with on my top 100 spotify wrapped playlist, and the oc/ship it reminds me of!!

My hot take is that it should have been Rebecca, not Ted, who talked to Jamie about his father in 3x11. Here are my reasons:
1. So much of Rebecca's arc is about recovering from an abusive relationship while her abuser is still, somewhat unavoidably, part of her life. Her experience with Rupert and Jamie's experience with his father aren't identical, but she knows better than anyone else at Richmond how it feels to have someone like that turn up at her place of work, and how stressful their planned encounters are, even when they're just in the same large stadium and don't need to directly interact.
2. As the owner of the club, Rebecca almost certainly knows what happened at Wembley, and she's not only well-placed to make practical arrangements like getting James banned from the match (since none of them knew he wouldn't be there) but also, as of 3x10, has come to terms with with her relationship with Rupert — both the good parts and the many, many bad parts — in a way that enables her to interact with him when necessary without massive emotional distress, while also keeping very firm boundaries in place. Basically, she, unlike Ted, could offer advice based on relevant personal experience.
3. Jamie could finally find out that Ted didn't have him sent back to Man City — while it would be nice for Ted to say it, Rebecca is better placed to give the full story, and she and Jamie have a lot in common when it comes to expressing their hurt in a way that leaves a lot of collateral damage.
4. Explains why they're hugging in the finale.

"Julian?"
"You know, when I had to hear from my friends that you had taken a job with my coaches and moved across the Atlantic, I didn't think it was true. I thought to myself, 'Now, why would Lacy do that? Lacy is the kind of girl that's too scared to do anything. She'd be too scared to leave.' But here you are." Julian smirked, as he could sense that I was scared. He always could.
"What- what are you doing here?" I asked.
"Just thought I'd pay a trip to see my girlfriend. I missed you so much," He grabbed his face with his hands and harshly planted an open kiss right on my lips. It was like he was trying to mark his territory. That's how he always felt with me.
Just then, Ted's door swung open and he peaked his head out, "Is everything alright, Lace-." He immediately stopped when he realized what was happening. "Julian."
"Coach Lasso! How's it going, man?" Julian reached out to fist bump Ted but he didn't budge. He just kept his eyes on me.
"Remember that movie we're gonna go see, we have to leave now if we're gonna make it in time," Ted said on the fly, coming up with an excuse to get Julian to leave.
"Wait a second," Julian's gaze went from Ted to me to Ted to me. "Are you fucking this old man?" My blood ran cold, once again. I could take his abuse, I have for years. But I couldn't stomach him being mean to Ted, even if I was angry with him.
"No, Julian. He's not my boyfriend. You are. I only love you." I grabbed Julian's face to make him look at me, taking the heat off of Ted. Julian shook out of my grip and went walking over to Ted.
"I used to like you. I thought you were a great coach. But then you steal my girlfriend away from me, and then you fuck her?" Julian's voice started to raise.
"Julian, I understand why you are frustrated, okay? But Lacy here and I are just co-workers. Nothing more. She really loves you. I can tell." Ted nodded at Julian to try to get him to listen.
Julian grabbed Ted by the collar of his shirt, "If I hear that you even talk to her, I will kick your fucking ass, old man, do you understand me? Besides," Julian got closer to Ted's ear, "Only I will ever know the sounds she makes right before she's about to-."
"Leave him alone!" I interjected and pulled Julian off of Ted. I have never even thought about doing something like that, but Ted is such an innocent guy. He doesn't deserve to be treated like this.
"What's going on?" Coach Beard finally whipped his head out of his flat, probably because Julian was being so loud.
"You fucking bitch, did you just touch me? Did you touch me?" Julian spit at me. He started slowly walking toward me, trying to corner me against the wall. "Remember, you're a fucking good for nothing slut. You'd be nowhere if it weren't for me. I'm the only reason why you are where you are and I want you to remember that for the rest of your miserable fucking life." I flinched with every word that he threw at me.
Julian moved closer to my ear and whispered, "You will always be mine. I own you." Julian punched the wall causing the drywall to crumble, inches away from my face.
"You know what I think, Julian?" For some reason, Ted and Beard being here made me feel safe enough to be able to say this, and if I don't say it now, I never will. "I think you're an insecure little boy who feels threatened by your girlfriend leaving you to go work with two men. Two men that you always admired. You will never be half the man that Ted is, and you should feel fucking ashamed. You are an abusive piece of shit and you don't own anything. We are fucking over."
If looks could kill, Ted, Beard, and I would all be dead on the floor. I feared that if Ted and Beard weren't here, Julian would actually kill me. But, to give the final blow, I leaned into his ear and whispered, "You wanna talk to Ted about that 'little sound I make right before I finish'? You've never made me finish a fucking day in my life, you selfish asshole." I smirked to myself knowing that what I just said had just tipped him over the ledge.
"You fucking cunt," I swore at me. My eyes widen as I noticed him wind his fist back. He was gonna hit me. He always hit me, threw me into furniture, and pushed me around. He never actually "punched" me in the face. He always said he was too much of a gentleman. And now, now, he's going to punch me. As his fist was winded back, I closed my eyes, preparing for the blow. Suddenly, Ted grabbed both of his hands and held them behind his back, restraining him.
Coach Beard walked up to Julian as he was restrained and said, "You know, I never liked you," before knocking him unconscious. When Julian landed on the ground, I let out a giant exhale my legs gave out, sending me to the floor.
Completely ignoring Julian just laying on the ground, Ted came rushing over to me on the floor similarly to how I helped Ted when he had his panic attack. He took my face in his hands and looked me right in the face, "Lacy, breathe, baby, you gotta breathe." I looked up at him and just nodded, slowly down my breaths.
"I'm gonna call the police. Do you want me to call Keeley and Rebecca?" Coach Beard asked. I could only nod. Coach Beard stepped away to go use his phone while Ted and I remained on the floor.
"I'm gonna go see if Beard needs help making those calls," Ted went to get up but I immediately just grabbed his hand.
"No. Please don't leave me." My voice shook. Ted immediately knelt back down and sat right next to me to the point where are legs were flushed against one another.
"Alright, Lacy Loo. I'm not going anywhere. You might get a bit annoyed in a day or two but just remember you asked for this." He tried to joke with me and it actually made me laugh. Technically, I just blew air out of my nose but it's the thought that counts.
I leaned my head on Ted's shoulder and interlocked out fingers together while we both sat on the floor waiting for the police to come.
***
The police arrive within ten minutes and Keeley and Rebecca arrived within fifteen minutes. By the time the girls arrived, Julian had already been taken away by the police. One of the woman police officers knelt down on the floor to talk to me about what happened. After taking notes, she nodded and promised he wouldn't be an issue anymore.
As soon as Rebecca and Keeley arrived, they switched spots with Ted and sat next to me. "When I got divorced, I had to absolutely best lawyers money could buy. I'll send them over your way, of no cost of course." Rebecca said as she took my hand.
"Rebecca, I can't do that." I shook my head vigorously.
"I knew you were going to say that. That's why I already made the phone call on my way here." She smiled down at me. "He's not going to hurt you anymore. I promise you that. We'll have a restraining order drawn up before the sun rises."
"I made a couple phone calls to some people, myself. I actually know some real shady people so let's see if the prick is even alive by the time your lawyers get to him. I had to talk Roy out of killing him himself," Keeley said causing me to smile.
The three of us sat on the ground while Ted and Coach Beard were talking to the police officers outside.
"So, they're taking him in," Ted came in and told us. "I wouldn't worry about him for right now. You're safe." Ted smiled down at me.
"Babes, do you wanna stay the night with me? I don't think you should be alone." Keeley offered.
"Ya know, she could stay with me." Ted suggested. "That way all of her stuff is here so that's one less thing she's gotta worry about."
"Thank you, Keeley, but I think I'll stay with Ted." I shot her a guilty smile which made her smile.
"You got it." She kissed my forehead.
When I finally mustered enough strength to stand up, Rebecca and Keeley so I could get some rest. Ted helped me make a trip up to my flat to get some of the essentials I needed for the night to get settled into his flat.
"Here, you can sleep in my bed and I'll sleep on the couch, alright?" Ted put all of my stuff down on the bed.
"Ted, you're already opening your home for me, I can't ask for you to give up your bed, too. I'll sleep on the couch." I took my stuff off the bed and handed it back to Ted.
"Absolutely not," Ted put my belongings back on the bed, "Mama Lasso would fly all the way over here and kick my buttocks if she knew I let you sleep on the couch. You're taking the bed, end of discussion."
I smiled, "Okay. Do you mind if I take a quick shower? I just feel...icky."
"Of course. I'll get everything set up for you." Ted disappeared into the bathroom for a few minutes. "Alright I put your shower products in there, a towel, a washcloth, and a toothbrush. I think that should be everything."
"Thank you, Ted." I smiled and patted him on the shoulder before walking behind him, into the bathroom.
I took my time in the shower, making sure to scrub every inch of my body. Every single inch that Julian might have ever touched. Every single inch that Julian offended and claimed as his own. My body belongs to me and only me.
After my shower, I saw Ted's Chief's t-shirt and a pair of my pajama bottoms on the bed. On top of the t-shirt was a note that said, "The only Kansas football player worthy of our time is Travis Kelce... no one else (don't worry, it's clean) - Ted" . I smiled to myself before putting on the t-shirt. It was extremely oversized, but it made me feel safe.
I walked into the kitchen to see Ted making Rebecca her biscuits. Before he realized I was standing there, I giggled to myself as I heard the faint sound of Taylor Swift coming from his phone, and the faintest sound of the lyrics stumbling from his lips.
"So you're a secret Swiftie, huh?" I smirked. He jumped as he realized I was there.
"Geez Louise. You'll give me a heart attack." Ted placed his hand over his heart. "It's just a playlist of all the hits. Of course Ms. Taylor Swift's gonna be on there."
"Uh huh." I didn't believe him. "So you're gonna tell me you weren't singing along just now? This song isn't even a single." I laughed.
"Excuse me, "Dancing with our Hands Tied" is one of my favorites." Ted scoffed.
"You're definitely a Swiftie, Ted. Only Swifties know that song," I laughed, hoisting myself on the counter. I immediately took one of the big spoons that Ted was using to bake and used it as a pretend microphone as I started singing along with the song. I gave Ted the spoon back, but not to bake, but to sing the following lyrics. He knew every single word. We were in our own little word, I had almost completely forgot the events that took place tonight.
I could spend all night sitting on this counter singing Taylor Swift, but I was just getting so tired,"I'm gonna try to get some sleep."
"Alright, let me know if there's anything you need alright?" Ted's eyes softened, to which I nodded.
"Goodnight, Ted."
"Goodnight, sugar." He said softly to the bag of sugar he was using to bake, "Oh yeah, goodnight to you too, Lacy."
I rolled my eyes and laughed as I walked over to his bedroom.
***
"Lacy! Lacy you're dreaming! Wake up, honey! You gotta get up!" I heard in my sleep as my body started shaking. I woke up with a gasp, my scream filling the dark room. "You're okay. You're alright. Come here." Ted took my body into his grasp, holding me tight.
"What happening?" I asked, completely oblivious as to what happened.
"I was sleeping and I just heard you screaming. It seems like you were having a really bad nightmare. Does this happen often?" Ted asked as he stroked my hair.
My head hung down, "No. This hasn't happened since I was with Julian. It stopped a few months ago."
"Well, you're alright now, okay? Try to get some sleep." Ted went to get up before I grabbed his arm.
"Please. Please stay." I whimpered, almost mirroring the same conversation we had earlier in the night.
"Are you sure? I don't have to," Ted was apprehensive at first.
"I don't wanna be alone." I softly said making Ted nod. I scooched over, making room for Ted on the bed. I laid back down on my back, the same as Ted. The two of us staring up at the ceiling unable to sleep.
It wasn't until Ted had inched his hand over to mine, and interlaced his pinky with mine. That alone made me feel the safest I've felt in months, easing me to sleep right away.
***
Three days after the incident, Keeley had sent me a screenshot of an article written by Trent Crimm in "The Independent". The headline read "American Tourist Killed in Jail Incident".
Keeley Jones: Told you.
I didn't even have to read the article. I knew all that I had to know and it made my heart feel more at ease. Ted still wouldn't let me stay in my flat. We had made a deal that he'd let me move back into my flat when I stopped waking up in the middle of the night screaming. That could be never, but he didn't care. He just didn't want me alone.
It's been five days since Julian was killed and I still can't get my night terrors under control. Ted and I were sitting on the couch, on opposite ends of course, having a drink and watching a movie. Both of us were in our pajamas, comfortable. But the alcohol created some tension in the air.
I got up from the couch to go back to the kitchen to get another drink. Suddenly, the alcohol gave me the courage to say, "Can I ask you something a little personal?"
"Yeah, of course." He looked over at me.
"Are you in love with Sassy?" I asked as I leaned against the counter.
"Why would you think I was in love with Sassy?" He seemed genuinely confused.
"Because you had sex with her." Ted jumped off the couch as I responded.
"Um, how do you know I slept with Sassy?" He asked, his eyes widening.
"I went to your room that night, just to ask how you were doing after everything that happened at karaoke. And let's just say that you're very vocal when you have sex. Also, I guess you forgot my room was right next to yours." I laughed.
"Jesus Christ, Lacy, I'm-I'm so sorry. I didn't know you could hear all... all that." Ted apologized.
"You don't have to apologize, Ted. I was just wondering if you loved her."
Ted laughed. "No, I don't love her. I was just upset and she was there. She's a great woman, but no, I don't love her." I hoisted myself up on the counter and sighed as he said that. "Why do you seem like you're relieved?" He raised an eyebrow at me.
"Why would I possibly be relieved? Remember, I told you I liked Jamie." I smirked.
"You never told me you liked Jamie, you just told me that you were upset that he left. Actually, since you asking me if I loved Sassy solely because I had sex with her, I guess it's only fair if I ask you if you're in love with Jamie?"
"Ted, don't be silly, of course I'm not in love with Jamie." I said. Ted started to walk closer to me, slowly.
"Well, I, for one am relieved." Ted jokingly sighed a breath of relief.
"Why are you possibly relieved?" I chucked.
"I think you deserve to be with a real man that'll treat you well. And Jamie is not that man." Ted continued to walk closer to me.
"You never know. Jamie is starting to change for the better. But I guess we'll never know now that he's gone," I laughed.
"Lacy," Ted said seriously. I raised my eyebrows at him, showing him I was listening, intently. "Are you in love with anyone?" He furrowed his eyebrows at me, his eyes beginning to soften.
"That's a loaded question, Coach Lasso. I think I may have to take this up with HR." I laughed as Ted moved as close as he possibly could, my legs instantly widening so he could stand in between them.
"Panda." Ted said through lowered eyelids, his glance moving from my lips to my eyes. I'll always giggle at the idea of a grown man saying 'panda' to me. I should've picked a sexier word.
"I'm in love with you, Ted." My eyebrows furrowed as those words fell out of my mouth. I couldn't lie anymore. Not to him or myself. Even though I'd love to blame it on the alcohol, the adrenaline of Ted standing between my legs made me feel completely sober. "I should've said it before, but I'm in love with you, Theodore Lasso. I've been in love with you since the first time I saw you. I love you so much it hurts." I grabbed his face in my hands and stroked his cheek with my thumb, causing him to shut his eyes.
"Please... say something." I continued.
"Lacy Watson, you are the most perfect woman that I have ever met in my entire life. I've loved you for so long and I'm so sorry that I made you think that I didn't. It sickens me how much love I have for you. Could you forgive me?" Ted raised an eyebrow at me.
"I think you need to get on your knees and beg for my forgiveness," I joked around, being facetious. Ted instantly got on his knees right in front of me, still leaving me sat on top of the counter.
"I remember on the flight over here, you told me you liked Taylor Swift and South Park. Every time I bake Rebecca her biscuits, I like to turn on Taylor Swift because it makes me feel like you're with me. You caught me the other night and I lied to you because I was embarrassed, but it's true. I love Taylor Swift because I love you. And every time I fall asleep at night, I turn on South Park in hopes that it'll somehow bring me closer to you. That's how much I love you." Ted said while looking up at me through glossy eyes.
"Stand up, Teddy," I whispered to him. I quickly batted away the tears that started to form in my eyes.
"Yes ma'am," he responded, but this time, his voice sounded way lower and had much more of a southern drawl to it.
Ted rose to meet me at eye level, his gaze still flickering between my lips and my eyes. His eyes were glossed with inexplainable longing. I needed him and I needed him now.
Ted lowered his head several inches until his lips were mere centimeters away from mine. He left his lips hovering for a second, and before I knew it, he pressed his lips onto mine. He started slowly at first, not knowing how I was going to react, but he didn't know how much I truly needed him.
I wrapped my arms around his neck to pull him closer. The feeling of his mustache on my sensitive skin was even better than I imagined. As he started kissing me with more passion, I opened my mouth slightly to welcome his tongue. I squealed as soon as I felt his tongue, feeling pleasantly surprised by the feeling. Ted pulled away for a second, it felt like the worst second of my entire life.
"Uh oh, seems like I'm not the only one that's loud during sex," Ted taunted.
"Oh, shut up," I scoffed and pulled him back to me. His lips were ravenous against my mouth, then traveled down to my neck and my collar bone. Every time he suck on my neck resulted in a desperate moan escaping my mouth.
Suddenly, all of my clothes felt way too tight. My nipples strained in my tank top, it was almost painful. I groaned in frustration. I just wanted to rip all my clothes off.
"What is it, baby?" Ted raised his head from my neck to meet my face, sending my frustration full force.
"I need you, I need you now." I whined. Without question, Ted lifted me off of the counter, both of his hands flushed against my ass. My legs were wrapped around his waist as he tried to walk us to the bedroom. I wasted no time reattaching his lips to mine while grinding my core onto his obvious boner that was showing through his grey sweatpants.
"Darlin', if you keep doing that I'm gonna bust in my pants before we even make it to the bedroom." Ted whispered in between kisses. As he was talking, I kissed a trail up and down his neck.
"You better walk faster then, old man," I taunted, still peppering his neck in kisses. Ted rushed his pace and got us into the bedroom, gently placing me down on his bed. I inched up until I was flush against the headboard.
I laid down while he started to climb up my body and started layering kisses all over my neck and face. "Mmm you're so beautiful, darlin'," Ted yearned in between kisses.
Ted attached himself to my lips for a few more seconds before he started making his way down further. Thankfully, I didn't wear a bra tonight but my tank top was still way too much fabric. Ted started with sucking on my neck, then sucking on my collar bone, causing me to whimper. This man was such a tease.
My nipples were rock hard and strained against the fabric of my tank top. As Ted was focused on on my collar bone, I snuck a hand underneath by tank top and slowly started to tug on my right nipple to relieve some of the pressure.
Ted stopped kissing me for a minute and pulled away, looking down at me. "I'm sorry? Am I not good enough for you?" he joked while pulling my hand out from underneath my shirt.
"Ted," I whined. "Please."
"Please what?" He quirked an eyebrow.
"Touch me," I continued to whine.
"Have I not been touching you this entire time?" He dragged a finger down my neck, down my collar bone, and right onto my tits. His fingers trailed both tits, intentionally not touching my nipples. He wanted to hear me say it first.
"I need you to fuck me, Ted," I groaned.
"Yes, ma'am," He nodded. That's all it took for him to hook his fingers around the bottom of my tank top and yanking it over my head. I laid underneath him, with no tank top on and no bra. His eyes widened and his pupils dilated at the sight of me bare beneath him. "Christ," he whispered before leaning down and taking one of my nipples in his mouth. That's all it took for me to become a whimpering mess. He swirled his tongue around my peaked nipples, slowly, making sure he was taking his time.
"Fuck, Ted," I whined as he continued to suck on my nipples, making sure he was paying equal attention to both. When his mouth was latched to one, his thumb and forefinger worked on the other one, and vice versa. My arms were littered with goosebumps as my body was overtaken my pure pleasure. I arched my nipple into his mouth, chasing the warm heat.
After he was done, Ted kissed his way down my stomach, taking his time and making sure every part of me was accounted for. As he laid between my legs, he looked up at me to get visible consent to continue. I frantically nodded and he laced his fingers under my shorts before yanking them down.
I was wearing a pair of one of my nice lacy, black underwear tonight. I continued to pinch my nipples as Ted sucked on the inside of my thighs. As Ted worked his way to my core, went to pull my underwear down before I suddenly tightened up. "Wait a second!"
"What's wrong? Are you okay? We can stop if you want," Ted looked extremely worried.
"Ted, I think I would actually kill you if you stopped right now. I just, I've never," I motioned to him in between my legs and then motioned in between my legs. I was so embarrassed that I covered my face.
"No one's ever eaten you out before?" He quirked an eyebrow at me. I shook my head.
"He always said it was gross. He always expected me to do the work," I groaned. Ted scoffed.
"I don't have to if you don't want me to. But," Ted paused for a minute, "I'd absolutely love to."
I slowly removed my hands from my face, "Yeah?" I questioned, this time I quirked an eyebrow at him.
"Baby, I wanna make you feel good. Do you you trust me?" He continued to rub my thighs to get me out of my head.
"Absolutely," I smiled.
"So just lay back and let me make you feel good," Ted smirked. I took a deep breath and laid on my back. I raised my hips a bit in order to help Ted get my underwear off. From the top of the bed, I could hear his breath shudder at the sight of my bare pussy.
He planted kisses all over my thighs, but instead of stopping this time, he placed a kiss right on top of my pussy, causing me to let out an elongated whine.
"Wow, just one touch and you're already whining for me," Ted cockily said into my core. I couldn't even speak so I just moaned in agreement.
He extended his tongue and licked a long strip from my core right to my clit. Between the warm, wetness from his tongue and the harsh contact of his mustache on my clit, my back immediately arched off of the bed.
As his tongue kept sucking on my clit, he slipped one finger inside of me, thrusting it in and out.
"Mmm, Teddy, you feel so good." I moaned.
"I can feel you clenching around my fingers darlin'." Ted lifted his face from my pussy to joke around, but if he pulled away one more time I was going to start sobbing. I tugged on his hair and forced it back in between my legs. The second I pulled on his hair, Ted let out a whine. I'll have to remember that.
As his tongue became more hectic on my clit and his fingers pumped even faster, I inadvertently started to grind on his face.
I  had suddenly remembered the night of the gala, when I had gotten home and touched myself to the exact thought of this. The reality is so much better than I had imagined.
As I was getting closer to finishing, I hooked my ankles around his neck and interlaced my fingers in his hair, making sure he didn't move.
"Teddy, I'm gonna, I'm gonna come." I whined.
"It's alright, darlin'. Come on my face," Ted whispered. That's all it took for the cord in my lower belly to let go as I came all over Ted's face.
"Fuuuuck,"  I breathlessly groaned as I rode out my high on Ted's face. His face stayed still, lapping up every last drop of me. He looked up at me, his eyes completely filled with lust, with my come dripping off of his mustache. His hair had become messy and was flopped over his forehead. It was the hottest thing I've ever seen. I pulled him back up to the top of the bed and immediately latched my mouth onto him.
Correction, tasting myself on him was the hottest thing.
I reached the bottom of his white T-shirt and pulled it over his head. I sat myself back so I could take in the sight of him. His broad shoulders. His dad-bod. The little trail of hair that lead underneath his pants. He was perfect.
"Jesus Christ, Teddy." I groaned as I pulled him back to my mouth. As we continued to sloppily make out, I trailed my hands down his broad chest, down his stomach, and cupped him through his pants. "Do you want me to-" I looked down at his growing boner.
"There's nothing I'd love more than your pretty little mouth on my cock, but I don't think I'd last two seconds." Ted cringed at himself as he spoke, causing me to giggle.
"Next time, then," I smiled.
He kissed me for a few more seconds before he took off his grey sweatpants and his boxers. This man was huge, I thought to myself. But I didn't want anything more. My mouth practically watered at the sight of his throbbing cock in front of me. As he reattached his mouth onto mine, I quickly wrapped my leg around his, flipping us over so I was on top of him.
"Is this okay?" I asked him, wanting to make sure he was still okay.
Ted cupped my face, "Absolutely, darlin'. Can you reach over to my nightstand and grab a condom real quick?"
I smirked at him for a second before reaching over and grabbing a condom. "Did you hope this would be happening, Coach Lasso?"
"If you call me Coach Lasso I'm gonna bust before I even get to fuck ya," Ted strained.
"That's what does it for you?" I laughed while ripping the wrapping off of the condom and rolling it onto his throbbing cock.
I interlocked my arms around Ted's neck as I gave myself leverage so I could slowly start to lower myself on his cock. His eyes immediately snapped shut and his breathing started to shake. He moved his hands to my hips so he could control how I move. My breath immediately hitched as I felt like he was going to split me into two.
"Jesus, fuck, baby, you're so tight." Ted groaned, with his eyes still shut.
"I'm not gonna move until you look at me, Teddy." I smirked, making his eyes start to flutter open. I sank down a little bit more, still getting used to the length.
My mouth hung open, not even making any noise. I was so overtaken by the feeling of being full that my body couldn't do anything.
After letting my pussy become accustomed to Ted, Ted groaned while looking down at us, "You got all of me, darlin'."
That's when I began to move. Ted held my hips in place as I started to circulate my hips. I leaned down to kiss Ted, and the two of us just ended up whimpering into each others mouths.
As I sped up my pace, Ted tried to keep his mouth latched to mine to stop me from screaming, "You gotta keep quiet, baby. You don't want Beard hearing us, do you?" Ted whimpered.
"The whole city of Richmond could hear us for all I care. I want this entire city to know how fucking good you feel." I whimpered into Ted's mouth.
"Fuck, Lace," Ted moaned into my mouth. There was just something about hearing Ted curse that almost made me come itself. "I'm almost there."
"Me too, baby,"  I let out a drawn out gasp. As soon as I said that, Ted reached out and used his thumb to rub circles around my sensitive clit. That completely sent me over the edge. "Fuck, Ted. I'm gonna-I'm-"
"Come with me, baby. That's it. Good girl," Ted whimpered as he could feel me clench around him. The both of us reaching our highs at the same exact time. I continued to whimper as I rode out my high, placing my forehead on Ted's forehead. Our incredibly sweaty foreheads instantly latching to one another.
Ted slowly pulled out of me, causing me to roll over and fall onto my back, completely out of breath. I covered my face with my hands, immediately getting nervous about laying in Ted's bed naked. He must've sensed my apprehension as he almost instantaneously covered me with his sheet.
"I'll be right back, darlin'," he whispered while kissing me on the forehead. After a moment, he comes back into the room with his boxers back on and a warm washcloth in his hands.
"Can I?" He asked while he motioned the washcloth in between my legs.
I could've almost sobbed. No man has ever done this for me, ever. "Of course, Teddy." I smiled. My heart was so full.
Ted used the washcloth to help clean me up. He even took his time since he knew I was still sensitive. He got up from the bed to grab me my tank top and a pair of his boxers to wear. After I used the bathroom, I got dressed and giggled at myself in the mirror. I looked so sexed out.
I walked back into the bedroom and my heart beamed at the sight of Ted laying in bed with his grey sweatpants and his white t-shirt back on. His back was pressed up against the headboard as he channel surfed, looking for my favorite show. He patted the spot next to him on the bed. I flopped down on the bed and nuzzled myself in his arms.
"Here we go!" He exclaimed as he put on South Park, smiling down at me.
"Ya know, you don't have to watch this now if you don't want to. You've already got me, Teddy." I looked up at him.
"Actually, I don't mind. I've gotten used to it. It's actually a really good show," he laughed. As my eyes started to flutter shut, Ted must've thought I had fallen asleep since he leaned down to kiss me on the forehead before whispering, "Goodnight, my love."
That was the first night in over a week where I slept through the entire night.

Fuck Me! - Rebecca Welton/Reader
Rebecca Welton/Female Reader
Summary: Rebecca knows she is working too much and for the first time in weeks has a free morning with her daughter, Lowie.
Classification: Light Angst, Domestic Fluff
Warnings: None
Word count: +2700
Tumblr media
Unrevised
The blonde looked down at her hands, admiring the work done on the rounded nails painted in an impeccable French line, gleaming against the illumination. And then to the little girl in her front staring expectantly at her, among them a dozen colorful children's nail polishes, some with glitter. She raises an eyebrow analyzing the situation, the day before went to the manicure and hoped to keep it for at least a week. The work schedule consumes all her time, including the few free ones, she barely has time to be with family, much less for self-care as she organizes and prepares the club for the next matches of the soccer season. Rebecca sighs and thinks about what words she should use to refuse to let the child paint her nails.
"How about I paint yours?" she asks hoping that might divert Marlowe's attention.
" Alrighty then, I'll choose the colours ." the girl quickly runs to the corner of the playroom, reaching for a colorful decorated box with another dozen nail polishes, some fun stickers too "And I want them all."
"Lowie..."
"Mummy..." they stare at each other for a few seconds until the woman sighs in defeat, she loves that her daughter has inherited part of her personality but that could be a problem "I want rainbow colours."
"That's going to be a lot of work, you're the most demanding customer I've ever had."
"Don't be silly, Mummy." Marlowe cracks a toothless smile and places both hands on the table, opening the little fingers so they can be painted "I am your only customer."
"Sometimes your Mama is my customer too." the blonde winks and gets a big smile from the little girl.
"And I'm always her customer, she paints my nails all the time, sometimes Mama puts stickers and all my friends love it." she nods towards the colorful cards with images of cartoons, flowers and small designs "It's okay if it doesn't look right."
Rebecca laughs at being reassured about her abilities by a five year old, she can't do wonderful designs or details like her own manicure does, but is sure she must know how to paint in the right spaces. It's something she and Sassy did together as youngsters, having perfect nails...almost all the time.
"I don't like orange. I want my favorite color." the woman brakes, immediately dropping the bottle in place. She realizes she doesn't know what color it is and a strange feeling makes stomach heavy, maybe guilt "Blue, Mummy. Like your team and Bluey."
"Oh yes, of course." she looks for the color among the nail polishes, finding it at the bottom of the box, no surprise having glitter, then looks at the tiny hands on the table, it's adorable how chubby they are and the little nails are smudged all around, so knows she overestimated her talent "Stickers?"
"Please."
They smile and soon the blonde has all her concentration on not smudging the other nails, making a funny face that unintentionally makes her daughter laugh watching. When finished she smiles happily, proud of herself for not getting it wrong this time. Then picks up the cards, placing them in front of the girl as if they really were at the manicure. All the nails are already painted, this is the final part.
"I didn't know they existed from Baby Shark." Rebecca comments analyzing the options.
"It's not sticker, it's tattoo." the surprised and confused expression stamped on her face makes the strawberry blonde laugh again, it's fun for her to see her mom, who knows everything, be lost "Can I do it on you? Please."
"Mummy has work later, so no, sweetheart."
"Okay." Marlowe whispers trying to keep a smile, even if she is disappointed.
Since the Premier League had started a few months ago and AFC Richmond came further than it ever has before, Welton found herself busier than usual, meetings almost every week, there are extensive training sessions and a hundred events she has to attend, many times having to participate in creating them. Sinking more and more into work to the point of hardly seeing the family, leaving too early to say good morning and too late for good night, most of the time finding her wife already asleep, clearly trying to stay awake for her arrival, and her daughter drooling against the pillows. It's a cute and funny image she has when giving Marlowe a goodnight kiss on forehead. And no surprise either because she has been a good sleeper since baby, arms and legs everywhere, good hours of sleep and sometimes even snores.
"And why are you home today?" she finally asks, when woke up this morning, the only free one in weeks, she thought she was going to spend with her wife, have breakfast and take Lowie to kindergarten together, then something else, instead she was woken up late by the child jumping on the bed and a note from Y/N letting them know she had some appointment.
"I was sick, I can't go to school until tomorrow. The doctor said it's something with V, but I can't remember what."
"Virosis?" Rebecca chokes on her own saliva, at breakfast they shared a cup of tea without her having any idea that the girl was sick, which bothers her too, as a mother she is aware that should know about things like that.
"Yes!"
"Fuck me!"
"Yeah! Fuck me!"
"Marlowe Amelia Welton! Watch your mouth!" she scolds, knowing she would be screwed if Y/N heard that, one of the agreements they made about motherhood is to avoid swearing around her.
"You said first! It's a good thing, Mummy." the woman widens eyes and sips the glass of water trying to wet dry throat, pure nervousness "That's what you and Mama say when you are in the room and you look happy." and then spits out the whole contents "And the next day I get candy."
"Oh..." of course, they agreed it would be avoidance around her, but they forgot how loud can be in intimate moments and always counted with the heavy sleep of their daughter sleeping in the next room "It wasn't... but how can that be good now?" she tried to change the subject, it would be too hard to explain.
"Aren't you happy that I'm sick? That way we can stay home together." Marlowe smiles and blows her nails to dry them faster, a cute little pout "So today I am happy."
"But you see me at the matches, sweetheart."
"It's not the same, everyone has you there, sometimes I want to have you all to me, Mummy. When you are home we can watch movies, play and paint, I like when you tell me bedtime stories, sleep by my side and hold me when I am sad. I want you to stay here forever, with me. And with Mama too. Because it's more special."
The sad and sincere childish words make Rebecca's stomach sink, heart palpitate harder and eyes burn trying to hold back tears, she imagined that Lowie, her little and lovable Lowie, missed her, but hear it from her is something different. It's painful. She realizes how much the little girl appreciates and values the moments they spend together, how much her presence means.
"And you are sad now?"
"No, because we are together." Rebecca smiles sadly, trying to hold back the tears and failing, her daughter notices, then faces her worriedly "Mummy, are you sad?" Marlowe doesn't wait for an answer, running out of the chair and around the table to hug her mom, little arms around waist, little face pressed to hip and the blonde's hands caress the little girl's back.
"It's okay, baby. I'm fine." as she is about to let go the woman holds her against her own body and leaves a kiss in hair, inhaling the sweet smell of shampoo "But I still want your hug. The best hug in the world. I love you, sweetheart."
"I love you more, Mummy. And I know, Mama says it all the time. I'm all perfect, from the tip of my toe to the last strand of my hair."
"Cocky, isn't you?!"
"I don't know what it means."
"Means you're really perfect." the childish giggle soon takes over as Rebecca takes advantage of the low guard and tickles her armpits, grabbing her on lap to do it on her tummy as well.
"I... I ... I surrender, Mummy!" she manages to say between giggles, those are the magic words they use every time playing with each other.
"Oops, your nails got smudged." Rebecca points to the colorful nails, polish all over her fingers, a total mess.
"It's okay, it was already smudged." is the only response from the little girl who gets off her mother's lap, knowing she would be caught up again, little legs running to the kitchen counter, where she stops remembering something ""Mummy, I have to get ready for the day."
"You're staying home today."
"But I like to get ready, come on."
"Right, sweetheart."
Marlowe's room, which once was white and in tones of pink, is now totally colorful, the walls are filled with drawings, teddy bears and art materials, she also has a large closet, where besides clothes and shoes a great collection of hair bows is kept. Years ago, when she found out that they were going to have a little girl, Rebecca bought the first bow as if she predicted that their daughter would be in love with the accessory, and almost cried with emotion when she carried her out of the maternity ward wearing it. Then the first tufts of hair appeared, surprising little blonde curls in a reddish hue, and came a hundred bows, hair clips, headbands and ribbons. Now strawberry blonde hair reaches the middle of her back, bangs cut perfectly straight and ends wavy, the woman absolutely loves brushing and styling for events. Like weeks ago at an AFC Richmond home match, she did high pigtails, decorated with blue and red hair ribbons, one color on each side.
"Thank you, Mummy!" Marlowe appreciates looking at herself in the mirror, loving the multi-colored bow at the end of a braid, so she turns to the accessory box looking for something "For you to look like me." and puts a rainbow clip in her mom's hair, followed by another, unicorn this time "We look beautiful."
"Yes, we are, sweetheart." the Welton's stare at each other for a second before the woman kisses her daughter's head.
Rebecca gets up from the floor and grabs her phone from the dresser, without any surprise it's already full of text messages, a missed call, a reminder about the afternoon meeting and a text from her wife.
"Hi, love! Some unexpected things happened at the meeting, Keeley volunteered to babysit Lowie in the afternoon. Please check her purse when she arrives, last time they almost overdosed on Fini, apparently our daughter inherited your taste for sweet."
She smiles reading the text, of course the girl has inherited it, she is a small version of her, but almost redhead, bright green eyes, defined lips and nose, not just physically, they share many personality traits and tastes. Marlowe runs across the room and throws herself against her, gripping the long legs tightly and the legs curl together like a baby monkey.
"Was nice having you with me, Mummy." the blonde faces her in confusion and takes her in lap, noticing the sad expression on the childish face "It's okay to go away."
"Sweetheart, I don't...'"
"You're on your phone, whenever you're on your phone you have work to do." Rebecca wastes no time in hugging her, pressing the little body against herself and strokes back, calming the imminent cry "It's okay."
"Lowie, that was Mama, she's going to be late and..." the child faces her expectantly "We, you and I, are staying together. What do you think about watching that cartoon you like?"
"Bluey?! And can we have Fini? And there's chocolate pudding in the fridge." Marlowe quickly gets excited, jumping for joy at the idea of them spending more time together.
"Well, we need to talk about sugar, young lady." Rebecca laughs leaving her on the floor again, giving a gentle pat on the head "But later, now you can grab some treats from the drawer." and winks at her little partner in crime.
Marlowe nods positively and runs down the hallways disappearing from the woman's field of vision, soon she hears the sound of the drawer. In one phone call and a few text messages all the rest of the day's appointments are cleared, giving her a totally free schedule. She also tells Keeley that she doesn't need to come. The phone is put on silent mode and kept in the pocket of her pants. Nothing will get in the way.
"Lowie, what do you think about painting Mummy's nails? Any color you want. And I want a tattoo too."
It's almost 6pm when the sound of keys in the door wakes Rebecca from a nap, she settles down on the couch carefully, not wanting to wake her daughter lying on her lap. The two of them simply fell asleep after about 15 episodes, all chocolate pudding and a few packs of Fini. She tries to pull herself up and out of Marlowe's embrace, failing miserably at that mission as the girl cuddles even tighter into her, snoring lightly against her chest. In less than a minute Y/N appears in the living room, carrying a dozen different bags and a sweet smile on lips as she finds the cute scene.
"Hi, my love!" she whispers excitedly and crouches down to leave a soft kiss on her wife's lips, then on the child's forehead "I thought you had a super important meeting today."
"It's been rescheduled, as has the rest of my schedule." Rebecca smiles and pulls the youngest to herself, making her sit on the corner of the couch with them, bags on the floor "And what were you doing?"
"I had parents meeting for a sporting event at school, in the afternoon, well, I went shopping." she laughs shyly as confesses her activities "Lowie had a growth spurt, so I had to buy new clothes and uniform, she barely fits into pajamas."
"What did you expect having the baby of a 5 foot 11 woman?! When I was her age the same thing happened. And I noticed there was something different." and indeed she did, a little of her tummy showing when putting on a blouse and the pants bars reached the ankle, plus now Marlowe is at her waist height "I see you went to the hairdresser and manicure too."
"Damn, I thought you wouldn't notice."
"You deserve that time to yourself, you are living like a full-time solo mom. I'm sorry I'm not here for you." the blonde says with guilt in her voice and strokes her wife's hair, pulling her into a gentle kiss "And you look fucking gorgeous and sexy." she whispers low as possible, especially after learning that her daughter's sleep doesn't stop her from having good hearing.
"That's okay, my love. But I confess I can't wait for Premier League to finish soon. Looks like you had some time to yourself too, with Lowie. Pretty nails, Welton." really pretty, painted in various colors, some with fun stickers. Strong arms are covered with temporary tattoos of various cartoons, the girl has convinced her to do more and more with puppy dog eyes. Her usually perfect hair is a mess with those same clips and a few more. Not even her face escaped, colored eyeshadow and blurry pink lipstick befitting childish abilities "We have a girly girl in our home."
"A persuasive girly, she's so talkative. And a mini me." Rebecca says proudly and the girl seems to sense that they are talking about her, at the same time wakes up "Hello, sleepyhead."
"Mummy.... Mama!" she practically screams and throws herself into Y/N's arms, not realizing she kneed the taller one, who just hisses in pain and holds up a curse "Oh! Fuck me! Your hair looks beautiful, you're cocky, just like me." Marlowe says excitedly into the hug, squeezing her as hard as she can.
"What?" she looks at her wife with wide eyes, not believing what had just heard.
"Oops..."
"We'll talk about it later, Mrs. Welton."
And Rebecca knows she's fucked.

Ted Lasso Fanfic "More Than A Game"
This is in response to the seemingly well recieved idea of me doing a slow burn Ted Lasso fanfic. I prefer using wattpad because it is smoother and you don't have to scavange for the next part. This series will be a slow burn so a bit longer than normal. I will post the links and updates on here though so you can read all the new chapters! If you don't want me to post it on Wattpad, why? Please comment below so I can see what everyones thoughts are.

❝ Will Welton dearly loved his older sister, but he’d never exactly endeavoured to work for her. Then again, he didn’t suppose Rebecca had ever endeavoured to have her rat bastard of a husband cheat on her with about a million different women and then to take over his football club and manage it with very little help, and also his sister was very bossy and he’d never been the best at refusing her. As such, when Rebecca had taken over UFC Richmond and asked him to become the new head of the team’s PR department, he had agreed, completely ditching his stable, well-paying job at a PR firm to work for inconsistent money at a failing football club, purely for the sake of sibling love.
Another thing Will hadn’t exactly been expecting was the hiring of Ted Lasso. Granted, he was terribly glad that Rebecca had fired Richmond’s old coach, that homophobic perverted dickhead, but he did have to question his sister’s judgement in hiring an American man who knew next to nothing about European football to coach a team that was already close to relegation, no matter how sweet and optimistic he was. Add on the fact that Rupert, her ex-husband, kept popping up just to be an asshole and that Richmond’s star player was an arrogant little prick who was antagonizing and isolating his teammates, and Will was left with a PR nightmare on his hands and an ever-growing suspicion that his sister was actively trying to sabotage herself.
Amid all of this chaos, though, Will finds himself striking up a friendship with Ted, whose unflappable cheerfulness and delectable biscuits are endearing like nothing Will has seen in another human before. But Will, who has had exactly one long-term relationship with a man since he came out at twenty-four and has an unfortunate history of developing feelings for straight men, is determined not to let his feelings for Ted, who is so painfully straight it’s not funny, be anything beyond strictly platonic.
Of course, nothing in Will’s life has been as he expected since Rebecca took over Richmond. Why should this? ❞

i'm not entirely sure i have a point here but i do find the intersection between ted's "not letting anyone get by him who might be hurting" philosophy and his "stay out of other people's business (particularly when that business is their personal relationships)" philosophy kind of interesting because they are to some extent contradictory — there are three notable instances where other characters in the show are hurting specifically as the result of their relationships with other people, and in each case, he finds a different balance between the two.
with beard and jane, we get the most straight-forward articulation of the "stay out of people's business" philosophy, but it's also the case where ted arguably has the most grounds to intervene — he and beard have been best friends for years, and he definitely knows him better than anyone in england. trying to help his friend out of a bad relationship is just kind of part of the best friend job description, or should be. with jamie and his dad, he offers (bad) advice, encouraging messages, and even brings jamie back on the team, but doesn't intervene when james is actually around (though i don't blame him for wembley since he was having a panic attack). but then you have rebecca and rupert in 1x08 (i think), and in that case ted actually does intervene, and intervene without being asked: he bets that if he wins a game of darts, rupert will stop showing up at nelson road (this is, incidentally, my favourite ted scene of the entire series. he can be manipulative when he wants to be and i am here for it).
i'm not sure i have a watsonian explanation for this — it might be that although ted and rupert are very different people, they both operate using a (performative, in rupert's case) kind of politeness/friendliness that means ted can get him to do what he wants using the skills at his disposal, whereas james and probably jane almost certainly wouldn't honour or even entertain that kind of bet in the first place. my doylist explanation is that especially in season 3, the writers only conceptualized rebecca and rupert's relationship as abusive and therefore worthy of outside intervention, but not beard and jane's or jamie's with his dad

The Last Time (Ted's Version)
Chapter One
chapter warnings: language
word count: 962
authors note: even though these two beginning chapters are on the shorter side, I hope you enjoy so far! I cannot wait to get into the main chunk of the story there's gonna be soooo much drama hehe
Ted Lasso: Lacy where did you go?
Coach Beard: I think your singing scared her.
Lacy Watson: I literally told the both of you I was going to the bathroom. I'll be right back.
***
After Ted had sent me his address last night, I packed a bag filled with some under garments and makeup and most of my important belongings and left. At this point, I didn't even care anymore. I'm starting fresh and whatever I can't bring with me, I'll buy when I get there.
I followed my GPS and pulled up in front of a house that had the name LASSO on the mailbox. Of course Ted would be the kind of guy to have his last name on his mailbox, I thought to myself.
After taking my bag out of the car, I walked up to the front door and knocked on it. Ted answered after the third knock.
"Hey, there! Welcome!" Ted obnoxiously yelled out as he answered the door.
"Hi, Mr. Lasso," I answered back.
"Please, Mr. Lasso was my father. Call me Ted." He reached out his hand. I grabbed it and shook it. God, his hand is huge.
I walked into his house and looked around, being a little bit nosy. The house was decorated beautifully, most likely by a Mrs. Lasso. There were also some toys scattered around the house. Why would Ted take a job overseas when he obviously has a wife and child? Is he running from something too?
"Beard, come say hi to Lacy," Ted called out into the living room, where Coach Beard was passed out on the couch with his mouth wide open.
"Aw shit, party's already over," I said with a snarky tone in my voice.
"Sorry 'bout that. He's been a little stressed about the whole move." Ted responded.
"Aren't you?" I asked.
"A little. But I'm more excited about the opportunity, ya know? It'll be a fun adventure." Ted smiled.
"Yeah, it'll be a great opportunity for a fresh start."
"Well, yeah, that too," Ted tried to smile, but I could tell it was fake. "Alrighty, well we have to leave for the airport in about five hours so try to get some sleep. If you want, my wife and son are staying with my in laws so you can sleep in my bed if you don't wanna sleep in the same room as Beard. He don't bite though, I promise."
"I make no promises," Beard said sternly in his sleep making you and Ted jump.
"Christ, I thought you were asleep," Ted exhaled.
"I am. But I am always listening." Beard continued, his eyes still closed. Ted looked over at me and shrugged.
"Uh, yeah. I think I'd rather sleep in your dirty bed than sleep in the same room as him." I laughed a bit.
"Okay, yeah. I can't say I blame you there. Well, make yourself at home. Bedroom is upstairs, last door on the left."
"Thanks, Ted." I smiled and headed upstairs with my bag. Still feeling weary about sleeping in a man's bed who I literally just met, I just laid on top of the comforter and stared up at the ceiling.
What the fuck am I doing?
***
If someone asked me twenty-four hours ago where I would be, I would have died laughing if they said 35,000 feet in the air sandwiched between Ted Lasso and Coach Beard.
I'm starting to think there might be something wrong with Beard, all the man does is sleep. Ted was talking to him for a good five minutes before he realized that he was asleep the whole time.
"Should we play a game to get to know each other better?" Ted proposed.
"Okay. What do you want to play?" I responded. I haven't played these sorts of games since I was in high school.
"I'm just gonna throw a bunch of questions at you and you just say the first thing that pops into your mind, okay? Don't even think about it."
"Wait, wait, so you aren't even gonna answer them? You're just gonna get to know me?"
"No, I'll answer them at the end. You're gonna go first. Alright. Favorite singer?"
"Taylor Swift."
"Favorite food?"
"Anything Italian."
"Favorite color?"
"Purple."
"Favorite show?"
"South Park."
"Okay. Kenny Rogers, peanut butter, orange, and Cheers." Ted said all at once. I just stared at him with a blank look on my face.
"I don't really see the logic in us playing the game like that." I laughed.
"Yeah, I suppose you're right 'bout that. I'll keep that in mind for next time." Ted smiled.
After a few minutes of silence, the cabin lights started to dim as most of the people on the flight started to drift to sleep, even though it was midday. We still had eight hours left on the flight, so I might as well get some rest.
"Goodnight, Ted." I looked up at him to see his eyes already shut and mouth wide open. I smiled quietly to myself as my eyes started to flutter shut, as well.
***
It's almost impossible for someone to sleep through an entire flight, but I really lucked out. Eight hours later, my eyes began to slowly open as my body could feel the decent into London. My stomach dropped a bit as I realized my head had been resting on Ted's arm. As I lifted my head off of Ted's arm, I had accidentally knocked Beard's head off of my arm.
"Christ, sorry, Ted. You could've moved me." I apologized. Ted had been awake reading a book.
"Nah, that's alright. You two looked so peaceful I didn't wanna disturb ya." Ted smiled, not looking away from his book.
"Ladies and Gentleman, British Airways welcomes you to London. The local time is 8pm.
Again, what the FUCK am I doing?

Midnight At Noonday | Dead Poets
Tumblr media
PART 2 | PART 3
ship: Surprise! x fem!OC
warnings: none... yet (muahahaha)
summary: Clare Keating is given the opportunity to attend the prestigious all-boy's preparatory school Welton Academy. Boy-mad and in denial, she must navigate friendships, crushes, and academics, all while helping to run the school's underground poets club.
word count: 2949
a/n: Hi guys, this chapter was originally written in third person, but I changed it to first person. I have read through it MANY times to ensure that the pronouns all make sense, and used control F, but it seems that some continue to slip through the cracks. I am very sorry if any mistakes remain after I have posted this notice. (Also this was originally published on AO3!)

There would be no flowers for Welton’s first female student. The only welcome I received was a short paragraph at the end of the Welton annual letter including my surname and the promise to any concerned parents that the faculty would not let my presence distract their sons from their studies. I was to keep my head down, study hard, and make no sudden moves, lest I be transferred to Henley Hall, leaving my father behind. I don’t offer you this position lightly, Miss Keating. Mister Nolan’s voice plagued my thoughts. Don’t make me regret where I place my faith. My breath seemed to catch on a thorn in my throat, and I lost my grip on my heavy suitcases that thumped to the floor on either side of me. My vest was scratchy, blouse stiff with too much starch, blazer too thick around the neck and boiling hot, skirt too long, shoes too tight… I thought of my father down at the gates, ‘holding the fort,’ which no doubt meant fighting for my thin claim to a place in the most exclusive boys’ preparatory school in the United States; pleading my case, charming the parents, dying inside.
“That’s the Keating girl!”
The raucous hallway chatter trickled to a whisper as the boys drew in around me.
“Yeah, from the newsletter.”
“You sure?”
“Who else could it be, dummy?”
I tore my eyes from the floor to see dozens of boys stealing glances at me as they passed, and a few outright gawking.
“Doesn’t she look like a barrel o’ laughs?” One of them hissed.
“What does she need two suitcases for?”
“Special treatment.”
I tried to speak, but my teeth were somehow glued together. I tried to walk, but my feet were cast in concrete.
“Hey, get out of the way, would you?” Someone bumped into my back. “You’re taking up the whole hallway!”
I turned, arms stiff and mouth dry to see a frowning young man with a froggish mouth and a face full of orange freckles. I tried to apologise, but only a thin trickle of air escaped my throat.
“Oh, you’re Keating’s daughter! Hi, how ya going? I’m Richard Cameron.” His hand shot up to smooth his auburn flat top. He paused, eyebrows raised for an answer. “Oookaaay.” He looked at me like I was crazy, and I feared he might be right. “You really oughta move, you’re gonna get trampled.”
“Clare.” I whispered to his back as it disappeared into the crowd. “My name’s Clare.”
Regaining my voice lent me a small burst of energy, just enough to pick my cases back up and hobble a few more steps down the hall. My arms burned with the effort and my lungs seemed far too small. I gritted my teeth and closed my mind to the hushed gossiping happening right in front of me. Just a few more steps, surely my room would be just around this bend. Unfortunately, it wasn’t. The hallway led to yet another hallway. Surely I should just sit down and die of heatstroke, right? I'll just leave my spirit here, cursed to eternally wander this academic desert...
“...the Keating girl…” Over the ruckus I heard a fragment of the Cameron boy’s voice. “Well… pretty enough… idiot savant or something!”
My stomach turned over. What was wrong with me? I strained to remember if I had hit my head some time between breakfast and the welcome ceremony and turned visibly stupid. The humiliation was almost too much to bear, and I felt my knees on the verge of buckling.
“Hey, excuse me?” Just as my heart was about to break, another soft voice spoke up, leaving me no time at all to wallow in self pity. “Would you like some help with your bags?” The voice belonged to another red-head, this time with a kindly, mouse-ish face and big browline glasses. He smiled soothingly when I failed to respond and gestured to my bags. “My friends and I would be happy to help you.”
“Uh-th-” I pressed my lips together and swallowed hard against the urge to vomit. “That’s okay.”
“Hey, they must weigh a ton! We don’t mind, really.” Two more boys appeared at the red-head’s side, the taller one spoke up and took no time to pick up the bag at my left, making a little ‘oof’ sound as he stood up.
“Thank you, y-you really don’t have to.”
“Charlie, help her out would you?” The red-head hit his shorter friend on the arm insistently.
“Is that an order, Meeks?” The friend quirked an eyebrow.
“You wanna fail Latin? No. So pick the bag up. I’m sorry about this.” He addressed me again, placing a solemn hand on his heart. “My name is Steven Meeks, this is Knox Overstreet-”
“Hi, there.” The taller boy took a step forward and nodded. He had the sort of dorky casanova spirit in his hazel eyes and lop-sided smile that was unmissable.
“-and-”
“Charlie.” He sidled up, arranged his face in a smouldering smirk, and offered his hand to shake. “Dalton.”
“It’s very nice to meet all of you.” I was very glad to have my voice back, though I nearly lost it again when Charlie swooped in and kissed the back of my hand. I snatched it away and cast a fearful glance up and down the hallway, thankfully seeing no teachers or hall monitors. “You can’t do that! What if somebody saw?”
“What if?” His cocky smile faltered as his eyebrows furrowed.
“They’d transfer me to Henley Hall!”
“Oh.” His face fell.
“Anyway, Miss Keating,” Steven stepped in to put us back on track, calming me with his even temper. “We’re on our way to visit our good friend Neil Perry to organise a study group for this semester. Would you like to join us?”
“Oh, sure.” A genuine smile grew on my face, the first since I had arrived at Welton. “I’d really appreciate that, thank you. And please, call me Clare.”
“No problem, Clare.” He put a gentle hand on my shoulder to show me the way, but the moment was brief and clandestine.
“You got a speciality?” Knox grunted as he lugged the suitcase along.
“Knoxious, her father’s the English teacher.” Charlie rolled his eyes, voice tense with effort.
“Well, sure, but maybe she hates English, and that’s why!”
“I-I don’t. I’m happy to cover English, but I can also do History if you need me to.”
“You’re in.” Charlie winked. “But no way are you doing History. That’s mine. I can’t be a total free-loader now, can I?”
“I suppose not.”
We shuffled along the hall until we came to a room mid-way along. Charlie and Knox dropped my bags by the door and the three boys crowded around the doorway, waiting for whoever was inside to notice them. I pushed my thumb into my palm, waiting on the outskirts of the group.
“Rumour has it,” Charlie pointed an accusatory finger into the room. “You did summer school.”
“Yep, chemistry.” I propped myself onto my tiptoes, trying to see over the group. “My father thought I should get ahead. How’s your summer, Slick?”
“Keen.” Charlie took a sauntering step forward, earning half a laugh from Steven. He stepped into the room and tossed over his shoulder, “Meeks, door, closed.”
I took note of Charlie and Meek’s strange dynamic of mutual bossiness, and decided I liked this old married couple. Steven and Knox heaved my cases into the room, sliding one into a free space behind the right side closet and the other beside the desk on the left, while I slipped in quietly and closed the door, feeling much safer with no prying eyes on me. I quickly relieved myself of my blazer and hung it over my arm.
“What’s all this?” The boy with the dark hair- Neil, I supposed- poked one of the cases with his toe.
“Oh, Neil, this is Clare Keating.” Steven spoke up, his hand genially placed on my upper arm.
“Oh, I’m sorry, I didn’t see you there.” The prettiest boy I had ever seen stooped down and took my hand, shaking it delicately. “I’m Neil Perry.”
“I’m Cl- It’s um, nice to meet you Neil… Perry.” I stumbled, transfixed by two dark eyes under two thick eyebrows, the colour of stained oakwood.
“Aw jeez, here we go.”
“Shut up, Charlie.” Neil said evenly, barely tossing a glance at him. “It’s nice to meet you too.”
He stepped away and stood by the radiator beneath the window, the autumn sun forming a halo on his sooty hair. The room seemed to blur and disappear behind his radiance, like a soft focus photograph. I had never felt embarrassed by a person's beauty until that moment.
“Gentlemen, what are the four pillars?”
“Travesty!” They all chanted, Knox shushing them frantically. “Horror! Decadence! Excrement!”
I found myself giggling at their antics, feeling a swell of gratitude to have found such a kind group of people in such a frightening place. Neil grinned at me as they all found places to sit, sending a current of electricity through my heart. I suddenly found myself with a huge excess of energy, and feeling it would be a bridge too far to sit on a stranger’s bed- there being no seats left- settled for standing at Steven’s side.
“Okay, study group.” Charlie got down to it. “Meeks aced Latin, I didn’t quite flunk History, and Clare here has gotta be an English whizz; so, if you want, we got our study group.”
“Sure. Cameron asked me too.” Neil said, a little reluctantly. “Anyone mind including him?”
I wished I could speak up about overhearing his insult earlier, but I couldn’t bring myself too. Instead, I promised myself I would try to give the boy a second chance, now that I had my voice back.
“What’s his specialty, bootlicking?” Charlie rolled his eyes and sparked a cigarette.
“He’s your roommate.” Neil fired back.
“That’s not my fault.”
“Uh, I’m sorry, my name is Steven Meeks.” Ever the gentlemen, Steven introduced himself to a young man that had gone entirely unnoticed by me. I felt ashamed to have brushed over him so easily, but how could I blame myself under circumstances like these?
“Oh, this is Todd Anderson.” Neil reached over to tap the boy encouragingly on the back. The boys all exchanged handshakes and pleasantries, leaving me as the last.
“I’m Clare Keating.” I shook his hand, feeling it cold and clammy to the touch. “It’s nice to meet you, Todd.”
“Nice to meet you.” He muttered, face red beneath his freckles, and shied away quickly.
“Todd’s brother was Jeffrey Anderson.” Neil stated, as if I should be impressed.
“Oh, yeah sure!” Charlie saved me the embarrassment. “Valedictorian. National Merit scholar.”
I thought of my father, the Welton honours graduate, Cambridge educated, published poet, well-liked by all… Tough shoes to fill.
“Welcome to Hell-ton!” Steven exclaimed.
“It’s every bit as tough as they say,” Charlie said gravely. “Unless you’re a genius, like Meeks.”
“He flatters me. That’s why I help him with Latin.”
“And English, and trig.” Charlie interrupted himself with a cough.
A knock came on the door. All in a second, an Oxford shoe ground out the cigarette and kicked it under Neil’s bed, I disappeared into the wardrobe, stepping onto the suitcase laying at the bottom, and drew the curtain across and held my breath. I had no idea where my sudden instinct for rebellion had risen from, but I was thankful for it when the door creaked open and an authoritative footstep sounded on the floor outside.
“Father,” Neil’s voice cracked. “I thought you’d gone.”
I heard my new friends form a chorus of ‘hello, Mr Perry,’ and scramble to their feet. I held a hand over my mouth to quiet my breathing.
“Keep your seats, fellas, keep your seats.” An older man’s voice said genially. “Neil, I’ve just spoken to Mr Nolan. I think you’re taking too many extracurricular activities this semester, and I’ve decided that you should drop the school annual.”
“But, I’m the assistant editor this year.” My heart nearly broke at the distress in his voice.
“Well, I’m sorry Neil.” Mr Perry’s voice carried a challenging undercurrent.
“But, father, I can’t! It wouldn’t be fair!” Neil’s voice raised frantically.
“Fellas, would you excuse us a moment?”
A silence fell and I held my breath as the pair stepped past my hiding place on the way out. Too terrified to move, I stayed where I was, hearing their argument muffled through the wall. After a few moments, it seemed Neil’s father had departed and the rest of the boys had made their way over to comfort him. I had never been so grateful for my father. Yet, I still failed to move, frozen at the thought that the old ghoul might be staring right at me if I pulled away the curtain. After a few moments, a hesitant hand pulled back the fabric to reveal Neil’s sweet little roommate who seemed so uninterested in making friends.
“Um, h-he’s gone.”
“Thanks, Tom.” I stepped down and gave him a grateful smile. “That was scary, huh?”
“U-um…” Tom went beet-red and wide-eyed, stammering like words were hot food in his mouth.
“Oh, I’m sorry, was this your suitcase? I didn’t mean to step on it, it just sort of happened. I don’t think I broke it.”
“N-no, I…”
“Well, uh, Latin?” Steven and the others stepped back into the room, interrupting us. “Eight o’clock in my room?”
“Yes.”
“Sounds good.”
“Todd, Clare, you’re welcome to join us.” Steven addressed us. My heart sank.
“Yeah, come along guys.” Knox spoke up.
“Thanks.” Todd nodded, eyes still wide.
“Thank you, I’ll be there.” I promised, and as the others filed out, I turned to Todd and grimaced sheepishly. I had my voice back, for sure, and now a torrent of words poured out of me. “Oh, jeez, Todd, I’m sorry. I’m terrible with names, I really am. I really blew it didn’t I? I’m so sorry, I’ll make it up to you somehow, I promise.”
“It-it’s okay.” He nodded, smiled stiffly, and sat down at his desk with his back to me.
“Well, I… I better bounce.” I said to the back of his head. “Um, Neil?” The boy wandered into the room, listless and dejected, but made an effort to brighten his expression when I addressed him. “I’m so sorry to inconvenience you, but, do you think you could show me to the teacher’s wing?”
“Of course.” He bent down to pick up one of my suitcases, groaning when he straightened back up. “Gosh, this is heavy. What do you have in here?”
“It’s books, mostly.” I took the other one and lugged it out of the room. “I can’t do without them.”
“The perks of having a teacher for a father, I suppose.” He said, a wistful tone in his voice. “At least they keep you strong, huh?”
“Hmm.” To my dismay, I could find nothing to say to comfort the boy, or anything to say at all, for that matter. I wished I could just be consistent.
“Hey, smart thinking in there!” Charlie appeared beside us, grinning proudly. “I didn’t pin you for the rebellious type, but you seem to be a natural.”
“I don’t know about that…”
“Here, let me take that for you.” Before I could protest, the suitcase was out of my hands. “Where are we off to?”
“Teacher’s wing.”
“Well, you went completely the wrong way. How did you manage that?” Charlie shook his head. “Doesn’t matter, we’ll get you there.”
As we traipsed through the halls, retracing most of my steps, I couldn’t help but steal glances at Neil. My mind raced with verse after verse at the faraway look in his eyes. I felt like Byron, struck by beauty in the moonlight and scrambling to capture the moment like a firefly in a jar of words.
“Neil?” I said softly, surprised for a moment to hear my own voice. “I’m sorry about… the thing, the newspaper.”
“It’s fine.” He smiled sadly, but gratefully. “I still have soccer and… stuff.”
“My father is coaching soccer. We might be on the same team.”
“Maybe.” His smile grew a little more genuine. “You’d better hope you’re not with Charlie. He’s a terror.”
“Is it a crime to want to win?” Charlie retorted.
“You’d think it's a crime not to, the way you carry on.”
“Yeah, yeah. Which room?”
“Three-ten. I think it’s the first one here.”
Sure enough, my room was the first one in the wing, closest to the hallway. I thanked the both of them, laughing as Charlie waggled his eyebrows and bowed with mock reverence on his way. Neil lingered a moment by my door under the pretence of making sure I had everything right and that my key worked.
“I’ll see you at the study group, then.” I leaned up against the doorframe, feeling infinitely lucky to have the privilege of looking at him.
“See you then.” He turned to go, but hesitated. “Hey, Clare? If you need anything, come find one of us. Those guys you met today are some of the most upstanding people at this school. We’ll help you if you’re ever… I don’t know. If you ever need it.”
“Thank you, Neil. I appreciate that.”
With a final nod of acknowledgement, he disappeared, and I ran across the room and tossed myself onto the bed, exhausted, and dreading the task of unpacking the horrible truth: I had fallen right off the deep end and landed squarely in love with Neil Perry.
