OC tober - day 15 - prompt "giving comfort to another"

fandom: Baldur's Gate 3

pairing: Astarion Ancunin x Veles Gallaer

OC: Veles is a male drow who grew up in Menzoberranzan, but eventually managed to make his escape to the surface. He made a life for himself in Baldur's Gate as a shop owner by day and a masked vigilante by night, until he was snatched away by the nautiloid and, well, the rest is history.

Astarion didn’t want to talk, that much was evident. And although he knew a part of Astarion likely wanted to simply be left alone, Veles couldn’t do that. He knew that Astarion didn’t really want to be alone, he was just… used to it that way.

Veles sat beside him. He reached out, at first not making any contact to see if Astarion would pull away. He didn’t. Veles took his wrist, and gently led Astarion’s hand to his own chest. For a while they sat like that, in silence, with Astarion listening to, feeling Veles’s heartbeat. It was soothing to him.

Eventually, Astarion wrapped his arms around Veles’s waist and rested his head on his chest. No words were required, they could talk later. For now, that was enough.
