concept: tandreth but he’s bg3 tav. he’s a drow sorcerer. how does it go with him at the wheel

he and karlach would start a love affair for the ages and the hells aren’t ready for his fire resistance

gale would drive him nuts, lae’zel would scare the shit out of him, shadowheart would be a “if anything happens to her i’ll kill everyone in this room then myself” and he learns to set aside his sus towards wyll. i don’t know if he and astarion would hate each other or be besties. he’d give his sister gale’s number. would make a pass at jahiera. while i think he’s siding with tieflings you know he’d be 👀 at minty

all things considered i think it’d go quite well minus a few fire related sorcery accidents

i haven’t finished the game yet (rip bad computer) so I can’t speak to too many story beats unfortunately

We all love Tandreth, though he really doesn't make it easy sometimes...

What was the first element of your OC that you remember considering (name, appearance, backstory, etc.)? 

Oh man this is a hard one to remember but I think it's backstory and gender/race/name. I developed the barebones of Raansi first as a daughter of the Nerevarine and wanted to do a Skyrim thief run in a similar timeline I started playing Idunn (warrior) and Raansi (mage) but wanted to play a dude for once, and again being weak for dark elves there we went. Decided to attach him to Raansi, had to figure out a name in character creation (the worst, the hardest) and then went on a little brain adventure about all of Tandreth's adventures and hardships having a mom who's a big ol' legendary hero and a sister with chronic depression. :D Appearance got better fleshed out based on the in-game model I settled on and changed as I figured more stuff out.

3. How did you choose their name? 

I liked the name Theodred but it wasn't very dunmer-y. -reth is a common dunmer male name suffix but Theodreth still sounded not quite dark elf enough. Messed around a bit and BAM we got Tandreth.

8. What (if anything) do you relate to within their character/story? 

His flaws/vices! Tandreth has a big chunk of some of my own negative traits - addictive personality using substances/food to cope, attempting to use humor to mask vulnerability, using speech and words to hurt when threatened and knowing enough about my loved ones to know exactly what will hurt the worst. I don't think I'm anywhere near as mean as him, but I suppose if I went through what he has I would be a lot meaner lol.

other thoughts in playing skyrim: man if i had the energy and will to get into companion modding i think both tandreth and raansi would make fun romanceable companions

both dunmer, both bi disasters in their own way, pretty competent at ass kicking, will help you skip lockpicking minigame, desperately in need of a friend

i also love how kotor 2 handled light side and dark side influence for your companions and working in a way to influence either of them in their thinking would be neat

you could reconcile the two of them and repair their relationship or make things worse and have a cain and abel elder scrolls edition event

Idunn has a normal human lifespan. How does Tandreth deal with losing another loved one? (Unless her being dragonborn gives her a few more years than normal??)

In the way he deals with most things that are emotionally difficult - try not to think about it. ;) Once he and Idunn are proper friends he’s really split between his need to run away and his attachment to her.
