Understand the Ship (Robin/Tabetha)
I love Robin ( @turnthepagevn ) and since Tabetha was the first PC I’d ever posted about, I absolutely had to fill this out. Apologies for the pixelation, I think having to use Paint killed the quality somehow. :(
Tidbits:
- Hesitant to so at first but is really into wearing Robin’s clothes (borrows his shirt in the mornings, takes his jacket when she has to do some grocery shopping, steals his scarf when she’s feeling cold.)
- Calls him ‘songbird’ affectionately when he’s playing the piano.
- Didn’t consider herself a jealous person before meeting Robin but as it turns out, if it’s about her partner, she does feel the occasional jealousy flare up. She really doesn’t like it but it is what it is.
- Favorite forms of PDA: Hugs, arm around her waist/shoulders, hand holding, leaning against him. She doesn’t mind kisses at all but it should be a short and sweet one.

Turn the Page - PC (Tabetha Darnell)
Let me introduce you to Tabetha Darnell, my PC for the upcoming visual novel Turn the Page @turnthepagevn. Don’t let the upper image fool you, she enjoys dressing all cute and soft and tries to give off very harmless vibes but the truth is, once you get to know her, she acts a lot less doe-like. Picrews used: 1 2
General notes under the cut.
- 26 years old, 5’5/165cm.
- Aquarius, born February 6th.
- Has a younger sister (who is the MC for Duality @/dualityvn). Tabetha looks a lot like their mother, while her sister Avery resembles her paternal grandfather.
- First impression: Polite, sweet, mellow but direct, delicate and approachable.
- Second impression: Rebellious, forward and a little rough around the edges but very reliable and protective. Still very sweet but it now comes with snark.
- Current occupation: Freelance video editor.
- Second job? Illegal cage fights on weekends. No, she doesn’t do the bookkeeping, she’s one of the people in the ring. Is pretty good at it, too, but it would get really questionable if she had an office type job and showed up with bruises every other Monday or so. Hence, freelance work.
- Did a lot of martial arts growing up, as recommended by the family therapist, to help with her anger issues. Ended up focusing on kickboxing and capoeira and takes classes for both once a week. Hits the gym on the weekends where she isn’t in the ring.
- Hence, she’s pretty buff underneath those comfy looking layers.
- Likes: Relaxing evenings with books (especially poetry and fantasy. Her favorite are the Ingary books, which Howl’s Moving Castle is a part of), tea, Spring season, her favorite cardigan and the ocean.
- Dislikes: Snobby people, her uncle who calls once a week to ask if she’s finally found a boyfriend, clogged shower drains, ironing laundry. Groups of slow walkers who clog up the sidewalks.
- Special talents: Aside from being proficient in her chosen martial arts, she has a very nice singing voice and can play the guitar. She’s an avid fan of video game music (even if she’s terrible at the games themselves) and when the siblings still lived together, they’d both randomly start singing songs and it would never take long before the other would join in. (Their favorite being The Song of the Ancients from the NieR series.)
- Yes, her hair is dyed. Her natural color is a really dark brown. Over the years, she’s tried out pretty much all colors available but she’s really come to like the green tones.
- Do NOT let her watch heartwarming videos featuring animals, she WILL cry and it won’t be pretty. I’m talking full on ugly crying.
- Kind of insecure about never having been in a relationship before, which is why her uncle’s phone calls bug her so much. She loves her life and enjoys her freedom a lot and yes, she absolutely has a friend group she regularly hangs out with and whom she loves to pieces. But lately, she’s been thinking about how nice it would be to have someone to come home to. Who will greet you with a hug and a smile. Someone to share the joys and disappointments of daily life with. She hasn’t even gone on a single date, ever, and she wonders what it is like to fall in love. Over the last couple of months or so, there has been this deep-rooted longing for long term companionship.
- Very much a romantic at heart.
- Way too honest to be good at casual flirting. She probably memorized a couple of lines in preparation for her first date with Robin but when she tried one, it came out as very stiff and awkward. Is far better at natural and earnest compliments given in passing like “The way you smiled just now was very cute.” and “Your handwriting is so nice to look at, it’s gorgeous.” as well as “Thank you for being with me. I don’t think I’ve ever felt this comfortable around anyone before.”
- On the other hand, she is VERY weak to charming compliments and flirting. She tries not to show how much it affects her but on the inside, she’s turning into a puddle.
- Will try to knit Robin a scarf but it’ll come out kind of uneven. Plus, it takes a long time for her to finish, with her busy schedule and her fingers sometimes being too stiff from The Side Hustle(™). Feels a mixture of pride and embarrassment should he decide to wear it.
- I feel like there was at least one moment where Robin decided to pay a surprise visit and she hadn’t applied make-up to cover up the bruises on her face. She played it off with a “You should see the other guy!” but the opponent who inflicted the bruises was never seen or heard from again. Probably moved elsewhere, what can you do?
- Please, for all that is holy… Let her brush Robin’s hair. She is so into nice hair and his is absolutely perfect, she’d love to run her fingers through it and maybe braid it. In fact, if they end up bathing together, she’ll make it a point to wash his hair for him. If she wakes up before he does (or if he pretends to still be asleep), she’s going to play with it and maybe bring a strand to her lips for a kiss.
- Play the piano for her, Robin. She will listen to you for hours and, if possible, she’ll accompany you on the guitar or via singing.
- Yes, she will freak out when Robin reveals his true nature and does try to get away from him. His stalking, the eyes in the shadows and the visions he sends her make her go back to him though, and it’s not out of fear alone. She does genuinely love him but she never knew eldritch beings really, truly existed and she went into denial mode. Needs a lot of coaxing to reach the level of comfort she shared with Robin before but once she’s back there, she’s not going anywhere. She knows it’s abnormal, their relationship is abnormal, what he did to get her back is abnormal but she cannot help but want to be with him.
