my mom animated a little Shmii over a metal sonic sprite for my birthday<3 the costume is surprisingly detailed for so few pixels it even has her straps!

i really like this drawing of shmii because you can really clearly see all the inspirations for her costume (putting pictures of them all under the cut)

the first shmii ever (before she got her name) ane the last one i drew. pretty wild considering its only been 8 months or so.

mostly i changed her scars to be more distrivuted and easy to draw, changed the shape of her eyes, and added the eye crystals. sorry that last part is incomprehensible without context lol. her outfit design came long after the original design i did and took a LOT of work. i knew what i wanted but i have aphantasia or whatever, so incouldnt visualize it and had to seek out references. i recently posted another recent one with the whole costume visible and with examples of the various things i was taking inspiration from. her hands hair and colors seem to be the onky thing that didnt change, and even her hair is a little darker. fascinating. i knew exactly what she should look like from the beginning but im only recently getting her right.

i decided to switch the way i draw shmii's eyes to look more like shmi's. this one was a standout.
