Important Features: Ugh she's so pretty. Anyway- long, LONG black hair in box braids (Picrew didn't have the option but you get the idea, it's voluminous). She can tie them up or have them whipping around, whatever she wants. Sharp, bright blue eyes, dark skin, wide nose, full lips. Big angel wings ofc. STRONG BODY!! She's got broad shoulders and MUSCULAR arms!! This is important to me!!

Personality: Solemn, patient, strong-willed, protective, deeply caring (she cares so much), passionate

Raph - Sees bits of herself in Raph and in his passion to protect, the first person in a long time to challenge her and get her to open up— uh oh, what are these feelings??

Leo - she sees much of his father in him, is proud of his rise to leadership

Mikey - Cares for him in an almost-mom way, sees how he wants to be the 'fixer' of the family but is suffering from a lack of acknowledgment

Donnie - admires his intellect, is worried that he leaves his heart too unguarded

Splinter - best friend and also weirdly a father figure to her, they chat over tea every day 💅

Casey - Raph's twin, in a bad way. Please stop encouraging him

April - Doesn't dislike, but doesn't connect to very much

Shredder - Disappointed, despises, gets a little shaken up by several times

Creation Backstory:

I... don't remember exactly how I came up with Nylla. I guess the first two are more special to me :) (jk jk)... tbh I just wanted to make two characters to pair with Raph and Mikey, partly for online RP and partly to complete the set... this may be why these two feel a bit different to me. I'm not even sure how old I was when I made them, I might have been 14-15...

She was, once again, inspired by a single picture, a Valkyrie type fan art. Originally this was an angel character wearing armor and with blonde hair. I held on to the blonde hair for a bit before thinking... "Why would she have blonde hair?? She's not wearing wigs or getting it done??" So I changed that to braids, and that has remained fairly consistent. As with most of my characters, once I found a Picrew that could capture my mental picture, Nylla came together visually through that.

Nylla went through a few shifts in clothing. At first I kept her in her inspiring-image outfit of some sort of chest-plate armor. Then I kind of figured that wouldn't work in her past or present, so I changed it to a kimono for missions and a sort of modern-japan styled outfit for downtimes. Later on I was kind of never using the downtime clothing so I narrowed it down to one outfit: a white and black keikogi and black jika-tabi (yeah... I do my research)

Another change was she used to have a sword that was only sharp, or something stupid like that, in her hands (mjolnir much?). I ended up dropping that too.

She started as a MAJOR pick-me. Like, wow, it was bad. It might still be bad. I'm trying to tone it down. But she's always been a protective figure and ingrained in the Hamato history since the beginning. And I mean the BEGINNING. But the mix of her backstory and wanting to be accepted in the present family resulted in some... bad moments. Horribly cringy. It's a hard balance. I kind of just had to chill her out and work out the flaws in her personality (and also... grow up a bit myself, I was probably projecting).

Now I would say... Nylla is still one of the toughest and arguably more complex characters to write, with her apprehension to open up emotionally due to past pains, but also her desire to have close connections because she broke the "angel rules" and had close connections in the first place. But she is also incredibly fun, a badass, and is a vehicle for emotional maturity and themes of motherhood and the trials and different forms of love and how grief can change you throughout your life, and what that could look like if you've loved for 1,000 years...

Sorry, I started rambling. I kinda tapped into my older sibling/parentification energy writing her :,)

Nylla can fly. Of course, she's an angel. She can also turn invisible. I felt like that would be interesting and also kind of make sense, since angels aren't supposed to be seen, but they stick out pretty obviously. So, invisibility :) Technically, it's just them shifting into a different light spectrum than the human eye can see, if you wanna know the fictional science. Healing, well... shes an angel, and a protector, she has to bring something to the table. It does have its limitations. She can only heal surface wounds of minor to medium size, it's gonna scar, and it takes her energy to do it so she has a limit to what she can heal in a day. She cant heal illnesses or terminal sickness either.

Developing most characters of mine kind of goes with the thought process "okay, REALISTICALLY, how would this affect their appearance/personality". And seeing some online theories regarding the MCU's Falcon and his INSANE core strength to be able to fly... I came to the logical conclusion that Nylla is hella jacked :) and thus came to the even more logical and almost canon conclusion that Raph loves buff women. You're welcome.

Because she's very involved in the daily lives of the Hamato's, she has to live close by. I always had her living in the higher levels of the Dojo tree (from the 2012 show) and that's kind of stuck ever since. I just think it's so fun... her setup is almost treehouse like, with a platform made of salvaged wood and a suspended canopy bed, and her few belongings scattered about in open boxes. Homeless aesthetic :)

I made Nylla with the intention of her eventual romance with Raph, so their relationship was already in mind with her creation, but it went through a lot of changes in dynamic. It's a tricky thing to work with an ageless character who's supposed to be romantically involved with a far younger, aging being. It's hard to not dip into the weird Edward x Bella vibes. My only excuse is... I made her when I was a preteen, so... it wasn't intended to be creepy? I just wanted her to be cool.

I think now I have it settled, and have always had this in mind, that Nylla and Raph's relationship is a slow one that never really "happens" (i.e., real big romantic gestures don't happen) until years after their initial meeting. It starts with an initial distrust and distance between them that is slowly bridged with mutual challenge of their characters and beliefs, mutual love for their family, understanding and connection over their passionate and protective natures, and a friendship that grows deeper and more intimate over time.

I really enjoyed weaving her into the Hamato storyline up to the present day. I don't remember if her story was always so heartwarming and also tragic, but it ended up becoming a really sweet found-family/outliving said family as an immortal kind of story. My favorite parts to write/think about are flashbacks to Japan and her old life there...

Spin offs:

SEVEN YEARS — I haven't written Nylla's part for Seven Years yet, but it will most likely keep close to her original story with themes and notes. A protector, forbidden/long simmering affection, etc.

A KNIGHT TO REMEMBER — This is also not written yet but I have sat on this story idea for years. I just love the idea of Nylla as a knight (maybe a nod back to her inspiring picture) escorting a haughty prince through the snowy forests... the VIBES...

Nym loses control of her demonic blood rage when she’s pushed to her limits, struggles with wanting to be good but has a lot of rage.

Tilla was an acolyte of Umberlee but discovered an aboleth deep beneath the temple. It tried to use her to escape but died and an echo of it fused with her mind, changing her forever.

Jen was 13 when he was told by a prophecy that he would have to sacrifice himself to save the world. He ran away and got picked up by raiders where he’s tried to run from his date as a hero.

Cillian wanted to be a famous bard and made a pact with the feylord Oberon. Now he’s getting tired and is trying to escape the pact.

Ellywick was found abandoned in the underdark by a deep gnome from Baldur’s Gate making a mining expedition. He and his wife raised her on the surface and now she’s a well known cartographer of the underdark, paid to map it out for surface expeditions.

Lavinia is the daughter of cultists that worship a dracolich and was married to him as his next bride. There’s lore in the cult that the bride reincarnates every 100 years to be married and devoured by him. She managed to escape but he’s still hunting for her.

Whisp was kidnapped as a child by a member of the unseelie court and made a toy for them. She spent 200 years trapped and then one day found herself back in the MP, changed from her experience.

Mica is the daughter of deep gnome scholars of the Society of Brilliance who were studying a myconid colony and the spores when her mother was pregnant gave her some of their abilities.

Victyrr I’m still figuring out but I think one parent was an asmr race (can never spell it).

I'm assuming you mean Spinkle? (Spinkle is my durge and Nylla is my friends Tav in our multiplayer save/Spinkles bestest friend)

Spinkle was hit with that true factory reset so any memories she has are all from within the last month, but I'd say the most fun she's had in that short span has been running loose in the mindflayer colony below Moonrise. Moonrise towers? Boring. Fleshy cool stuff hidden underneath it? Awesome!!!!

And as for a nice day trip out with no obligations? I wouldn't even say money is necessary I think she would just want to go on a chase, like a dog being let off it's leash. But like, she bites, so take caution.

I’m on a roll so I’m going to infodump about my other OCs, some of which may be related to canon characters but they aren’t fankids

Ages are in my and my sister’s main timeline

Celia Brookstone: 21, she/her, bi. As my first OC (not just for Ninjago, I think she may be my first OC in general), Celia started out extremely OP and has gone through an extensive evolution. Originally she was Cole’s sister and the EM of Magic (um, what), but now she’s his paternal cousin and a normal girl who just has an affinity for witchcraft and the occult. I haven’t had the chance to establish her personality with my sister, since we’re thinking up cooler things.

Irina Chen: 26 at death, she/her, bi, former EM of Amber. Irina is actually my newest OC! She’s Skylor’s mother, and by extension Chen’s (former) wife. She’s also Clouse’s older sister. She doesn’t really care if you try to hurt her, but if you try to hurt her baby she will cut you. One main example is that Clouse poisoned her, which caused her death, but when Lloyd finds her she says that she forgives him. She got along well with the other elemental masters, especially the former master of Wind, Nylla. Essentially I love her, she’s cute and she’s a great mom after the ninja find her and help her reunite with her family. She looks around 31/32, because she’s aging at 1/3 of the rate of the living.

Louis Chen: Unborn at death, he/him. Louis is Irina and Chen’s second child, who Irina was pregnant with when she died. He would be 17 if he wasn’t aging super slowly, but he looks 5. He loves Chen and Lloyd, begging Lloyd to play with him whenever possible (Chen is alive in this AU like Garmadon and Morro). While Skylor looks like Irina with Chen’s hair, Louis looks like Chen with Irina’s hair. 

Nylla: 31 at death, she/her, bi, former EM of Wind. Nylla was Morro’s mother, who was cold to most people she didn’t trust. If she liked and trusted you, she was extremely sweet, especially towards her son. She died when Morro was 10, causing his father to start abusing him and leading to Morro running away and eventually becoming Wu’s student. She currently hasn’t shown up in any of my and my sister’s roleplays.

Mirabelle: Unknown age (appears to be in her 20s), she/her, pan/aro, EM of Vision. Mirabelle used to just be a human girl, but she had an incident with Nadakhan and now nobody knows what exactly she is. She leads a circus, and a few people from each show are thrust into their greatest fantasies until their bodies die from dehydration and she can feed on their life force. She’s the antagonist of a fanseason I’m working on with my sister, Ninjago: Fever Dream. Her abilities can heal or degrade other people’s eyesight, or cause hallucinations. She’s legally blind, and she’s the only person who’s eyesight she can’t alter.

Sensei Neido: Unknown age (old), he/him, gay, EM of Imagination. He’s not really an OC, just an almost-completely revamped character from LEGO Universe. He teaches four students who all have some sort of parallel to one of the ninja for the most part. He’s an old friend of Wu and Garmadon, and there’s evidence he felt something more for Wu when they were younger. He’s introduced when he finds Kai injured in the woods where his monastery is and tends to his wounds.

Andrew Emily: 17, he/him, bi, EM of Gas. He was Neido’s first student. When introduced, Andrew is irritable, and he thinks his team is made of idiots. He eventually warms up to them, and in the future AU he’s in a polyamorous relationship with the other 3. His element allows him to manipulate any gas.

Brandon Mcbride: 17, he/him, pan, EM of Animals. He was Neido’s third student. When introduced, he’s extremely antisocial, preferring to talk to the bugs in the monastery. He later becomes friends with and then starts dating the others. His element allows him to communicate with animals of all kinds.

Cassandra: 17, she/her, bi, EM of Magma. She was Neido’s final student, coming from an island in the middle of the ocean. As such, she starts out with limited knowledge of how things work in Ninjago, and her huge temper doesn’t help her. She’s the tallest of the group. She later becomes friends with and then starts dating the others. Her element allows her to manipulate magma/lava.

There’s another member of this group, but they belong to my sister @amaryllis56-main.

Jonathan Reynolds: 17, he/him, gay. He’s from the future AU. He’s a high school senior who looked at Alex, an extreme disaster pan sophomore who will commit arson if he wishes and said “yep, he’s the one.” He’s extremely popular and charismatic, and Alex thinks he’s pretty much perfect.

What is something that comforts your OC in times of distress?

Nyllae really enjoys a good book, a bottle of wine or even a hot bath. She has always been a bit on the prim and proper side and enjoying many things in life that are of fine quality or should exude some part of relaxation for her. 

She wouldn’t say no to a bit of rest and peace and quiet either since most social interactions happen to bother her. Nyllae has never really been in situations of distress to where she felt she had to grapple with herself both mentally and physically until recently. Balancing that fine line of patience and logic versus vengeance and freedom. For now, she has been keeping inside her own head to avoid snapping and doing something she might regret later, perhaps something Amorthon and others around her can be thankful for.

Important Features: Black hair that is messy, wild, generally unkempt. A strong nose, almost Roman-like. Mid-full lips for the ideal sneer. Dark eyes, always tired. A full, dark brow. Caucasian skin, she doesn't get a lot of sun (if ever) so very pale.

Personality: Brash, stubborn, impatient, protective (some may say overprotective), reckless, fearful.

Creation Backstory:

Well picture me, an angsty teen of 13. I was looking online at character pictures and found a specific one that sparked a self insert oc with the powers above and a ghostly sidekick. She (me) was full of angst and hurt and very dry humor. I wrote 3 or 4 physical notebooks of a little oneshot/introductory of her, then decided to give her an actual name and separate identity from mine.

Omorfiá started out very clunky and overly angsty. I mean, she is still angsty but I think a reasonable amount. I used her in online roleplays to further flesh her out and figure out what worked and what didn't. At first, she was a bit toxic, very "look at me, I'm so tragic". Now I think there's a better balance of Omorfiá not wanting attention, and not willing to welcome change, but everything about her screaming "HELP ME". She's so mistrustful until she isn't, and then she is a literal ride or die.

Her features never really changed outright, but evolved over time. I used pictures I could find online that I felt were as close as I could get to "her" look. The basics of her looks stayed the same: Black hair, brown eyes, stern face. Once I found the website Picrew, I was able to make her out exactly as I saw her, and I think I've gotten as close as possible without physically drawing her myself (which I cannot do, trust me). She looks tired on purpose, she's supposed to look a little rough and not entirely "put together". The scar is a placeholder because I couldn't get scars in the specific place I want, but I have her actual scar placements written in her introduction.

For a while I never thought about her body type, but as I expanded on her character more I thought about what kind of figure she should have. When I was younger I didn't have the specific word, but now I know I was going for "boyish". Lean, boxy, more masculine than feminine. This specific feature gave me a plot detail that I find fun, but isn't super important or dramatic in the long run.

Clothing-wise, at first she was stuck in the clothing that was depicted in her inspiring picture, which was a green tank top, red flannel, and half-short jeans? The ones that just go past your knees? Eventually I ditched that and dressed her myself. Thankfully I wasn't dressing her with what was popular in 2015 (iykyk), but had her in more casual and movement-ready clothes for her specific lifestyle. She remains in baggy jeans, t-shirts, hoodies and sneakers to this day.

I changed Omorfiá's shadowy friend to the character Grace, who will be in the next chapter. I'll go more in depth on how her backstory changed as well in that chapter, but touch slightly on it here.

When I first made Omorfiá she was by herself, but I quickly found that to be boring and invented a ghostly friend to be her conscious and talk to her. Her name was Mávros. Eventually I also found that to be boring and unsatisfying with how Máv's specific story would go, so I changed her to be a physical human character.

Omorfiá also had physical "demons" in the beginning, which were her anxieties and worries physically manifesting through her powers. I played with this for a while but eventually it became either an overused or underused tool, and I honestly forgot about them for a while so it naturally dropped off in a way.

Other than that, her powers for the most part have remained unchanged. I made boundaries and limits for them pretty much around the beginning, tied to her mental and physical capacities so she wouldn't be a "Mary-Sue". (though... she still might be)

Her living situation was slightly different, but at the core remained the same. Omorfiá and Grace have always been "homeless" but made their own home. Originally they lived in an abandoned apartment, but I eventually got tired of that and wanted something different and parallel to the Turtles. With another inspiring picture I made their new home a subway car in an abandoned tunnel (kinda like the boxcar children).

The logistics are explained through the fic and in Grace's chapter but I can give some details here as well; Omorfiá takes them to a gym when it's closed and they shower/brush teeth/etc there. They go to a laundromat for their laundry. Food is acquired by Omorfiá.

Omorfiá and Leo's relationship has been mostly unchanged since I established it. I took slight inspiration from Leo and Karai's interactions but didn't want Omorfiá to just be Karai but in a different font (also that ship dISGUSTS ME TO NO END). I also didn't want it to be puppy love, but an actual growing and evolving relationship. Simplified its Enemies-to-Lovers, but really it's more Enemies-to-Reluctant-Allies-to-Begrudging-Mutual-Respect-and-Slight-Envy-to-Friends-That-Bully-Each-Other-etc etc.

Specifics of her backstory changed a bit, from amount of years spent here and including her birthplace at all. But at the core, the Big Details stayed the same. Lots of trauma.

SEVEN YEARS — This really just started with an idea of the tmnt in Edo-era Japan, paired with the fact that every seven years the human body has grown new cells throughout the body, so you're essentially a new person... so yea. I just stuck Omor in it with a few tweaks to her backstory, but her character is fairly similar to what she would be, just reframed into this new timeline.

OFFICE ROMANCE — Omorfiá isn't really a prominent character in this fic, but even in the background the concept of her is pretty interesting to me. Sometimes it's hard to imagine what she could be in the modern world, with a regular job. She basically becomes Jessica Jones. But in this fic she steps back to be more of a supporting character to Grace.

1. what are your oc’s natural abilities, things they’ve been doing since young?

Nyllae is quite skilled with a sword and has a natural affinity for Arcane arts. Her love of relics and books, artifacts and being good with a weapon as well as magic in combat, she decided to make a bit of a profession out of it and she works as an Artificer for the Tirisgarde and a relic hunter when commissioned to do so.

35. Is your character afraid of death? If they got to choose how to die, how would they want to go?

- Extremely though being the proud creature she is, Nyllae would never admit to it but deep down she knows if she dies before her aspirations are met the Shiverflame name ends with her. Her mother always wanted her to turn the House around and lead it back to prosperity some day. If she ever wanted to go it would likely be on the battlefield, having some sort of purpose tethered to her fall.36. Does your character have any medical conditions? Are they serious or minor? Do they affect their day to day life?

- No medical conditions and she is as healthy as a horse for the most part!

37. What are some of your character’s pet peeves? What are some things that annoy them or disgust them?

- Humans and Orcs just to name a few but people chewing with their mouth open irritates her to hell and back along with those who simply seek out the company of another with ulterior motives.

38. What kind of weather does your character like? Cloudy skies, rainy days, sunshine, etc?

- She really doesn’t care nor have a preference as she has been abroad and has had the pleasure to experience a variety of different climates.

39. When people look at your character, is there some assumption they might make about them just by appearance? Is that assumption correct?

- Haughty, Noble and looks like she might be a bitch. In any cause they are usually correct but Nyllae is someone who dislikes too much small talk and can only handle people she doesn’t favor too much in small doses. If someone annoys her, they’ll know but generally she is fairly reserved and patient; just as her mother taught her to be.

40. Does your OC have any guilty pleasures they enjoy? Hobbies, past times, music, etc that they wouldn’t want known by others?

- Nyllae enjoys flowers and herbs, mageroyal most of all but she has a fondness for making elixirs and potions to help the sick and even has a stock she brings to several locations in Eversong Woods as a ‘on call’ sort of pharmacist. She enjoys reading as well as a good bottle of wine here and there.41. Does your character’s family affect your character in any way?

- Behind the scenes, yes. Nyllae’s mother recently passed away and she is currently estranged from her real father with also trying to cope with the fact she has two half siblings she has never met but has had brief correspondences with one.

42. Is there anything in your character’s past that they regret, haunts them, or they wish they could change?

- She certainly wishes she was more present in her mother’s life before her death. Nyllae is what some would call a workaholic and she often spent a lot of her time away, in Dalaran and out in the field to where she neglected her home life and mother’s health back in Eversong Woods.

43. Does your character have a switch that changes aspects of their personality whether they are around friends, family, etc. Is there someone who gets to see their true self?

- Most certainly! Nyllae can go from hot to cold in an instant and that is simply a product of her surroundings. Depending on who is around she might find herself being more reserved in conversations and avoiding some topics of conversation though behind closed doors she is just as normal and insecure as the next person on the street. She’s just very good at being able to avoid and circle any type of questions and interactions she isn’t comfortable with.

44. Is there a particular event that would emotionally devastate your character?

- If something happened to someone she cared about or if Silvermoon happened to be under attack again. It’s hard to say as Nyllae is typically a stable individual. 

45. Is your character the kind to hide their true emotions or do they wear their heart on their sleeve?

- Hide it. She’ll dodge anything having to do with emotions and feelings until the cows come home. She is terribly stubborn and closed off with feelings over all and I’d be lying if I said it had nothing to do with daddy issues. 

46. What is some random affectionate thing that your character always does to their lover?

- Showers them in gifts. Nyllae was once betrothed to an allianced family of House Shiverflame but that shortly fell through after they found out of her being the bastard daughter of another nobleman. Since then she hasn’t dated or held a lover though Nyllae is most likely to show her affection through acts of service and material things.

47. Is your character outgoing? Would they be the leader of the friend group, or the quiet one that gets dragged along?

- Outgoing? Not so much unless she desires to be but Nyllae is definitely ‘leadership’ material if it were ever necessary. She knows how to follow orders (mostly without question) as well as follow her gut if need be. Good luck trying to ‘drag’ her anywhere though, someone might end up with an icicle in the nostril or a Arcane missile in the booty hole.

48. Is there anything in particular that would ignite your character’s jealousy? Or does your character not get envious?

- She’s a jealous creature as most tend to be. If there is no need for jealousy or cause for concern there would rarely be any on her part. Being as confidant as she is I can only imagine that jealousy doesn’t rear its head often.

49. What is something that your character has nightmares about? Are these frequent? Do they heavily affect your character’s mood?

- No nightmares as she doesn’t seem too phased about everyday happenings. The most she might have nightmares about is the fight against the Lich King and the attack on Silvermoon or various rehashing of times on the battlefield. Overall they do not affect her mood.

50. If your character confessed love to their crush, boyfriend, girlfriend, etc, what would they say?

- Depends. I think with Nyllae everything is completely situational and she’s likely to place something bluntly on the table in the moment. There is no beating around the bush with her. She’d likely say something along the lines of” “I have something to say and I need you to listen...”
