3.What’s their style like? (Clothing style, hats, gloves, masks, etc.) Modest and feminine, predominantly white with very subtle, washed-out accent colors. Lots of florals. She wears floor-length dresses and skirts, NEVER pants, and owns lots of cardigans. She never wears makeup or does anything elaborate with her hair, which she used to trim herself before there were devoted peggies willing to do it for her. Accessorizes with a little golden Eden's Gate cross on a delicate gold chain and her wedding band, a plain gold ring.

6.Do they like what they do? (Deputy, Cultists, totally non-partial bystander just waiting for the chance to shoot someone, etc.) Nellie Seed doesn't actually have any real authority in the Cult, so she doesn't have to do much. She's utterly devoted to serving Eden's Gate, particularly as Jacob's wife, standing steadfast beside her husband and modelling what a Perfect Godly Wife should be. She adores it. She pretends to be humble about it, but really she loves all the special treatment she gets from being A Seed. She loves the influence she holds over the cultists, she loves to look down her nose at the people of Eden's Gate - especially the other women - and being uplifted as this paragon of Godly Womanhood. (She's Girl Defined on steroids) 7.What are their thoughts on the cult? Nellie sees the cult as her children - they are not her equals, but must be guided with a firm and loving hand to being worthy of her love. She speaks gently and sweetly to them, but her compliments are back-handed, she chides them when they speak out of turn, and is always insinuating that while she loves them, they're not meeting her standards, and if they just work a little harder they may be worthy of her respect one day. As for the Seeds themselves, she's very aware of her place. She stays safely in Jacob's shadow and defers to him and his siblings. Her relationship with the Faiths is always somewhat strained, because none of them have been related to the Seeds through blood or marriage, so she feels like that position should be hers. She can be petty and passive-aggressive with the Faiths - the current one especially, given her age and history - but never outright hostile. Joseph's word is final, and she's accepted the role he set for her, however begrudgingly.

Fearless, Pt.3

John Seed hadn’t been expecting his brother to show up on his doorstep. And certainly not at 2am, with a crying baby and a scared teenager in tow. And DEFINITELY not by honking a truck horn loudly at the front door.

He groaned and rolled over, smushing his face into his pillows. “Who’s here at this damn hour…?”

His partner, a former deputy herself and the person who’d managed to shut down Eden’s Gate all the way back then, sat upright. She didn’t answer John as she got out of bed and fetched a baseball bat. “Fuckers better get outta here or I’ll smash ‘em!”

“It’s probably Jacob,” he mumbled as he sat up, rubbing the sleep from his eyes. “Fucker needs to stop honking his horn.”

Nellie approached the window and looked out, only to get flashed by high beams. Jacob yelled, “COME DOWNSTAIRS!! NOW!!”

“I’M COMING, JESUS!!” John yelled at he appeared at the window.

“NOT FAST ENOUGH!” Jacob got out of the car and John saw his pistol on his leg. That was enough for him to race downstairs and yank the front door, only to barrel into his brother.

“OOF!”

Jacob grabbed his shoulders. “John, I need you to take care of Melina and Isabella.”

He blinked a few times, then looked behind him to see the two girls in the car, Melina’s fear all over her face. “Jacob, what’s going on?”

“Can I get the girls inside first?”

“Uh… yes.”

Jacob nodded and looked back at the truck. Melina jumped out, hugging Isabella close, and rushed inside as John pushed the door open. Then he looked back at his older brother, who was watching everything with hard eyes.

“Fucking hell, Jacob, you’re jittery. What is going on?”

“Joseph got Cass.”

The silence was cloying, and John looked back at Nellie, who had just stepped outside. “Nell. We have a situation.”

“I heard.” Her eyes were as fiery as her hair. “Jacob, inside. Get your thoughts together before you do anything stupid.”

He exhaled and followed John and Nellie inside. Melina was sitting on the couch, rocking Isabella, who was uncontrollably crying. Jacob sat beside them, putting an arm around Melina and pulling her close. She whimpered and curled into her father. “Daddy, I’m scared.”

“Don’t be. I won’t let you get hurt.” He stroked her hair. “It’s okay, Mel. We’ll all be okay.”

She nodded, sniffling, hugging Isabella closer and just taking solace in her dad’s strong presence.

Oooh!!

Eli's definitely got the whole like, Rugged Manly Man vibe that Nellie goes for. I think she'd be attracted to him for a lot of the same reasons she's attracted to Jacob - how he's a good leader, and how well-respected and capable he is. She'd put on her soft, gentle, loving persona and chip away at his rough exterior, I think.

She's gotta pull way more ticks off him than she'd ever have to with Jacob, though. And they'd probably bicker about how long he keeps his hair and beard, and how he won't let her touch it even though she got a perfectly good pair of clippers at the dollar store. (In her canon, she's the reason that Jacob's hair is... Like That.)
